something about the way charles looks at the tifosi , the way tifosi will stand out in the freezing cold to watch him do 120 laps of testing just to show support, the way no one has seen this sort of support or passion since schumacher days, the way he reignited ferrari, the way he is our last hope, our predestined, our red prince. the way charles is ferrari and ferrari is charles, the way he is taking us back to glory, the fact that he is in the most prestigious seat in f1 and has the weight of a country on him at such a young age but he is still so kind and friendly and so loving to tifosi and has never once let it ruin him. the way church bells ring in maranello each time ferrari bring home the first place trophy, the way ferrari will knock down walls in maranello for charles’ car when he wins a championship. the way he has gone through so much and has come out of it all with such grace and kindness. he will bring us back, and in the meantime he makes me proud to be a fan for this team.

I think what drives me a little crazy (in a good way) about zosan as a ship is - ironically - that they're willing to do the worst possible thing, to sacrifice, for a necessary goal unrelated to their relationship. By that I mean that a common romance trope is an individual being willing to sacrifice the world, anything and anyone else, for their lover, and zosan is...not that. And for some reason that drives me more feral than that other romance trope ever possibly could. I find that more romantic than "I would burn the world for you" and I'll explain why.
The root of their specific willingness to sacrifice isn't a shortage of love or care by any means, but a complete trust and understanding of each other. To the absolute core of who they are. I'm going to refer specifically to that agreement between zosan (that I got spoiled on, so apologies if I get details wrong, I haven't gotten there in the story yet - ALSO spoiler warning if you haven't gotten to around Wano, so click away).
.
.
.
I'm referring to Sanji telling Zoro to kill him if he changes after his stint in Germa, and Zoro agreeing without need for an explanation, telling Sanji to survive until then - that is so fucking romantic to me, and people hold it up as proof that they don't care about each other but to me, it's anything but.
There is a burden of duty to being the wings of the pirate king, and they both take that responsibility seriously. They're both devoted to their captain and to their crew, and to the dreams of their crew. Zoro perhaps more outwardly unwaveringly so, but Sanji is devoted too, different from Zoro but equal in intensity. There are moments when you can TELL they're on the same wavelength, moments where Zoro gives a rare speech on the dynamics of their crew and Sanji is silent because he agrees. Sanji is terrified of hurting his found family, and he's terrified of becoming like his brothers and father. He loves his nakama and so he's willing to sacrifice his own life to prevent from turning into that type of monster.
Zoro is similar. He is willing to die for his nakama, and their dreams. They are in complete understanding of that point. Death itself is not something that scares either of them, there are some things that are worth the price. Potentially for different reasons ahem self worth issues ahem Sanji ahem but that's still something they both understand. Zoro would sacrifice himself in a heartbeat to save Sanji (he already has at Thriller bark), Sanji would do the same (again. Thriller bark), so it's not remotely because they don't care or love each other. They are absolutely willing to give all they are to keep each other from outside harm.
But what happens if the threat to the crew is Sanji himself?
Sanji asks Zoro to be the one to kill him, because Zoro is the only one on the crew who he trusts 100% to do so, to fulfill the promise, who understands. I personally think Luffy would try to save his nakama, even beyond what is possible, at his own detriment. The other crew members would probably do the same (then again I'm still not through the show so feel free to disagree with my interpretation).
But Zoro could do it if it came to that. It would be awful, and it would shatter and change him, irreversibly, heartbreakingly so - I don't agree with people who say Zoro would kill his nakama without hesitation and be fine with it out of loyalty to his captain, Zoro has a heart y'all and he loves his crew - but he could grit his teeth and do it if he realizes it is necessary, that there is no other option. Sanji trusts him to keep his word, to protect the rest of their family. Do you know how telling it is about the level of regard you have for your partner, to trust them to the point where you can easily place the well being of almost all you both treasure into their hands, once you realize you can't be the one to protect it anymore, and know without a shadow of a doubt that it'll be safe as long as it's with them? With knowing they're strong enough to accept the heavy burden of having your blood stain their hands for the rest of their life, the blame for your death on their shoulders, the shadow of you in every single thing they do, inescapable and marking every facet of their life forever? And to trust that they'll not only accept those consequences without hesitation because it's what you asked of them, but will also protect what you both treasure until their last breath, without you even needing to EXPLAIN that that's what you're asking to them to do, because it's the obvious, it's what you've both been doing all this time, it's something you both know so well that no words need to be exchanged, no reassurances need to be given.
And the implication of Sanji wanting Zoro to do this task too, of being okay dying by Zoro's hands because they're equals in every way. Especially since their fighting dynamic is mostly a competitive, I'm stronger than you, I'll never lose to someone as weak as you, blah blah. This is proof that that's not what Sanji and Zoro actually think of each other. Sanji knows that they could kill each other if either of them truly tried for one - wouldn't have asked Zoro to kill him otherwise. Sanji is also fine with Zoro being the one to defeat him. There is an inherent (kinda fucked up) romance to that notion. 'If I have to die, let it be by your hands.'
And on Zoro's part, there's an inherent fucked up romance to keeping your lover close forever because your fingers are stained with the necessity of their blood.
fUCK.
(here is a caveat that I'm viewing this in a scenario where Sanji and Zoro have established that they love each other and are potentially in a relationship. If it's before that you could also flavour it with Sanji's "I love him but I think it's unrequited, actually I think he may hate me, so it would hurt him the least to be the one to kill me" which is JUICY, but just for this post I'm viewing it where they've already established that they're valuable to each other, that they care)
How am I supposed to look at that and not fucking die. It's so much more nuanced and romantic to me personally than "I would burn the world for you" because that trope at its core is a selfish sort of protection. I can 100% see how people find it romantic, don't get me wrong, I'm not judging you if you like that trope, that's so valid. It's "I can't live without you" and "I would choose you above all others" which is romantic, but it's romantic in a different way. Depending on the characters, it's also, I would go to extremes to make sure you're alive, even if there's nothing else left after the carnage except for each other, even if everything else that makes life worth living has been destroyed for survival, and we can only ever rely on each other for the rest of time. I only care about you but not anything else you care about. I won't try to save it, even if you tell me to, even if you want me to, and won't forgive me for all I've done because I can't bear the burden of you not being alive and around anymore.
I get why it's compelling, but that trope could ignore (depending on how it's written) everything else that person could hold dear. Ignores potentially, the agency of the person being protected, a character who could have accepted the consequences and have not wanted the world to burn for their sake, who is strong enough for that burden. And true, maybe the character isn't like that, maybe they just want simply to live a life (valid of them, people are allowed to want happy endings for themselves), but my point is, it's a different archetype of romance for a different archetype of character, but it seems to be more accepted as a romantic trope then zosan's dynamic and I think it shouldn't be that way.
Zosan is the opposite. It suits their character type perfectly. For them, it's "there are things that are worth more than even you and me. I love you, knowing who you are and how you view the world and what other things you value. I love you everyday on purpose, not hopelessly or illogically or blindly, even knowing you may not always choose me. I'm willing to accept the pain of that, just to be next to you. The time we share isn't any less valuable for being fleeting and impermanent. I care about the things you care about and our lives are also worth living because of those things. It would tear me apart irreversibly to hurt you, but I would do it if you asked it of me, I would do it if that's what this life demands of us. I know you can protect what we both love, even if I'm not beside you. I respect your choices. In this, we understand each other perfectly."
THAT is my shit. That's the fucking deranged ass bs that has me staring at my ceiling at 3 am, pacing the floors at 6 in the morning, gnawing on conkcrete like a rabid dog. Brain rot brain rot brain rot.

If there is one thing you know about Tsu’tey, it is that he is attentive. Whether that be in the sense of categorizing and keeping tabs on his people, or the doting he does on those he holds dear in private; he is always watching, waiting, basking in the shadows to make sure he knows every detail. You think it partially to be his position as future Olo’eyktan that makes him that way. But you also know it to be just how he is in nature—even if he’d struggle to openly admit that.
A fatal flaw on his part, maybe. The way he is so devoted to the lives of those around him; how he is so willing to double stack his duties to take care of the needs of his people. Bearing more stress and burden than he should (or more inside knowledge than he has any right to know) because he is simply so keen on ensuring he is not out of the loop with anyone, ever.
He’s being attentive even now, at this very moment. If that is what you could call spying on Jake and Neytiri from his perch of raised tree roots, partially shielded by the overgrown flora in front of him. It is sweet and terribly endearing how he cares for her, loves her; his want to protect knows no limits.
Someone else might stir up a smidgen of jealousy at that, but not you. See, even if he had been betrothed to her, you’re conscious of what resides in his heart; what always has. You know that his feelings never crossed that one fine line, no matter how much he’d try to pretend that they did. How much he was willing to sacrifice for the sake of his clan to have strong leaders—willing leaders. It’s commendable.
Such an admirable act of a man of his caliber, one must admit.
And it isn’t that he does not trust Jake—because if asked he would have to be honest and begrudgingly attest that he has grown quite fond of the uniltìranyu—but he is just.. wary. Rightfully so. That is a well suited sentiment for these types of situations. Relationships with tawtute, no matter how docile and complaisant they may seem, should always be handled with a lingering sense of fragility. So you understand his urge to leer, his need to observe when he is alone with one of your people.
It doesn’t mean you don’t find it the slightest bit amusing, though. How he’ll stress and strain over maintaining glimpses. Hearing him scoff when you tease of his meddling is humorous. You enjoy getting to tug on his leg.
“You are lurking again,” you state, stepping up beside Tsu’tey’s still form on the root, peering through the clearing of brush right along with him.
And he must have been far more engrossed in his couple watching than you thought (it’s not like you were trying to sneak up on him after all, your steps were not even close to quiet) because he flinches the tiniest, minute bit at the sound of your voice. His head snaps to you and you turn your own to meet his gaze.
“I am not lurking,” he rebuts, lips dipping downward in a scowl. You can tell he wants to roll his eyes just by the tone of his voice, but he won’t. He’s aware that that gives you satisfaction.
Little does he know you get satisfaction from that fact alone.
“Ah, right. Then what would you choose to call this? Spying?” You tip your head, a seemingly innocent gesture but it is nothing of the sort. Playing Tsu’tey is quite effortless when the dice fall into your practiced hands so routinely. “Snooping?”
“That is—” Absurd? Foolish? Whatever word was going to punctuate the end of his sentence dies before it reaches the tip of his tongue. His mouth screws up for a moment, along with the ridges of his brows, and you can tell something about him that is so painfully easy to pick up on. “I do not snoop.”
“Sure you don’t.”
Your words tilt with a shrug of your shoulders, the leveling of your head. Swiveling back around to look through the brush once again, you have to bite your cheek to fight the smile threatening your lips as Tsu’tey still stays locked on you. It’s a pleasing feeling, knowing you have riled him up so much in less than a minute.
“I do not snoop. Nor do I spy.” He reiterates, says it with authority now. In the same stern voice he uses to talk to the children of the clan and warn them about venturing too far into the depths of the forest without parental supervision. But you are an excessive amount of familiar with him for it to work on you; for it to sway you in the slightest.
If anything it eggs you on. Maybe a small personality flaw; most definitely a little boorish of you. Nevertheless you enjoy it, you think you always will. Because you are the only one who gets to see Tsu'tey like this. Who gets to poke and preen and tease, without worrying if your head might end up on a pike afterwards. (Not that he could stomach ever doing such a thing without a monsoon of reasons, truly, because even behind his ostensibly permanent glower he is just a big hearted fool deep down).
“I see,” you hum, and his gaze is still boring holes into the side of your skull, “Then you’re just nosy.”
“I am nothing of the sort.” And there it is, the scoff that always comes when you begin to make sport of his tendencies trailing after his detest. You’ve finally got him—successfully sunk your teeth into his throat and dragged him right into your claw toothed trap.
“Great,” you denounce, then flick your gaze back to that of the agitated man beside you. “Then it will not matter to you to know that Jake and Neytiri snuck out of your sight five minutes ago.”
“What?” Head whirling, eyes shooting wide, he turns back instantly to his break in the brush to confirm your statement.
Your statement that was in fact laced in nothing but falsity and had the sole purpose of exposing him for just how intrusive he is; which worked like a charm, you must add. Jake and Neytiri are still there, of course. Still talking and collecting herbs like they were before. Still enjoying their innocent—albeit sickeningly flirtatious—time together.
Tsu’tey whips back around to look at you, this time squaring his shoulders to glare at you properly.
“Wiya!” He hisses, but it holds no threat. Just his annoyance, the baseline of frustration. (Probably out of embarrassment for being caught, if the sharp flick of his tail is any indication at all). “What is it that you need?”
You consider him, hold his gaze. There are one of two ways you could go about this and you’re trying to decide which route would be the most entertaining. It becomes clear with each tick of his jaw what option you’re going to settle on, so you begin to pick up the puzzle pieces and place them down methodically.
“Oh, nothing.” Shrugging as you lace your fingers behind your back, you count your breaths. “Was just seeing what you were up to.”
Tsu’tey, expectedly, does not waver still. “I am busy tending to things.”
“You mean spying?”
“No.”
“Hm.”
After your hum you let another pause take place. Another beat of silence between the two of you. There’s a faint rustling to your right and out of the corner of your eye you see Jake and Neytiri actually gathering their things to leave this time. You wonder if it’s because they heard the two of you or perhaps on their own whim. Regardless, you don’t miss the twitch of Tsu’tey’s ears as he picks up on it too. You’re almost certain his brows knit tighter together, if that is even possible.
“What do you need, yawne?” He repeats himself, presses once more.
Yet even on edge, his tongue strikes lovingly. How enthralling of him, how compelling. How can he expect you not to want to toy with him? When he is just so yielding?
You shake your head. “Nothing.”
Another pass. The noises of the forest fill in your lull.
“Well,” he huffs, straightening himself out. “If there is nothing you need then you should be going. Like I said, I am busy.”
And you’ve been plotting, scheming, for this perfect time to swing the hatchet down. Tsu’tey has set you up beautifully, honestly. It’s almost like he’s in on it himself. He should know better by now, you think.
“Right, you’re busy.” This time, your words drift off with a deep sigh. Shoulders rising up and dropping theatrically like they’re being controlled by a puppeteer's strings, you turn to leave the same way that you came. You mumble under your breath, but not low enough that the man in your presence cannot hear you as you take your first steps away, “Always so busy. Looking out for everyone. Leaving me be..”
Tsu’tey’s sharp intake of breath might be stifled, but you hear it without a single shred of strain. In less than a second wide strides are being made to close the short gap you’ve created between the two of you. And just as soon as they stop, the unreserved grip of a calloused hand is clutching onto the ridge of your hip bone, pivoting you back around to beset the (now slightly less annoyed) warrior before you.
“Leaving you be?” His voice is tainted with something endearing, something unfiltered. Concern flitters across his strong features and it’s riveting; telling.
You’ve got him. Right in the palm of your hand.
“Mhm.” Angling your chin with a nod you turn your eyes downward. Relaxing your shoulders into a defeated slump, posturing yourself to be despondent. “It’s fine, really. I know you are an important man. I should not expect your undivided attention.”
“My attention?” He quirks, and his hand is leaving your hip only to take place on your jaw. He tips your head up but you still keep your gaze averted. It is not time to give in yet. “You have all of my attention, always. Oeyä txe’lan, why would you believe that you do not?”
You bite your tongue. Attentive, heeding; earnest is his expression as he deciphers every twitch across your face. You’d think for a man that is so good at reading you he would be able to tell when you are presenting faux emotions. Yet it’s like his worriment outweighs his fluency of you.
Somehow that’s even more touching.
“Ma (Y/n),” he hearkens, veering into your line of sight until you’re forced to meet his gaze, now. The intensity of his focus has your stomach fluttering, your hands behind your back ringing together. Oh, how you love him. “Tell me, am I being neglectful of you? What is it I have failed to do?”
“I—” His thumb is rubbing against the plane of your jaw. The curve of his lips pushes them out in an adoring pout as he inspects every quiver and crease of your features.
This was supposed to be a fun little game, one you are used to playing and one you are always in control of. So why does it suddenly feel like Tsu’tey has wiped the gameboard clean and tossed out all the cards? How has he flipped this on you, by simply cracking open his chest and laying his bleeding heart atop the deck? How has he become the game master, with a simple cradle of his palm and the dripping of devoted professions off his tongue?
How is this fair at all?
“Oeyä tìyawn.” My love, my heart; he holds you with such firm care like you are the very muscle that pumps life into his body. Like you are the very essence of his soul, all in all. Like you are his lifeblood—and aren’t you, really? “Do you crave for my attention? Have I not awarded you enough?”
“No.” It’s instant, no hesitation in your deliverance and, somehow, this is not about teasing your lover anymore. Your lungs burn, your internal clock ticks like the time frame of minutes has been cut short. “No, it is not enough.”
Contrition trickles down Tsu’tey’s face like watercolor pathos coating concern by the brush of your velvet tongue. His grip on your jaw softens, his free hand slides across the hollow of your throat until his fingertips bracket the braid encasing your kuru. He steps close; impossibly closer than he was until the beads of his neck piece scrape delicately against your sternum, until his breath fights to contrast the already growing warmth of your blood rushed cheeks.
You swallow, but it is not enough to stomach the tension clawing up your ribcage. His forehead is just a mere breadth from yours, his nose twitching millimeters from your own. With his ears pressed back and his tail flicking lowly, he envelops every sense a Na’vi can use.
He debilitates you, wholly and unquestionably.
“Forgive me,” he presses, and his lips seal yours before you can respond. “Forgive me, paskalin,” he longs as he steals your breath once more, presses his thumb against your pulse point. “Ngaytxoa, Ma (Y/n). May you never want for my attention again. I will grant you anything to prove as such. What do you wish of me?”
“I wish…” It is tasking, trying to catch your breath. He is just so close and just so consuming and adhering. “I wish for you.”
“Me?” He ticks his head, drops a hand in order to slide it down to the base of your spine. “You have me, all of me. Do not be foolish and believe otherwise.”
You blink, regain yourself. Yes, you suppose he is right. You suppose you do have him—all of him—that his actions now prove to supplement that statement. So what is it you really want? What is it you crave of a man who has given you everything even if you bait that he does not? What is the desire that you harbor in your heart, that he has not already graced you with forthright, at the any shallow utterance you muster?
“The day,” you wager, “Spend the rest of this day with me.”
Tsu’tey’s lips cinch to the side for a moment—his duties listing off on the blackboard of his mind, you are sure—but a moment is all he tenses before his foundation gives. He nods, cleaves to your wish.
“Of course. What would you plan? A hunt? A harvest?”
A fang hooks the corner of your lip and you shake your head. So willing to heed to you but it is not quite right, not quite on script. He has mistaken your petition for something far more innocent than you thought he would; but you suppose you cannot fault the conservativeness of a warrior that holds such merit as he.
“You mistake me,” you correct, snaking your hands up until they reside over the ridges of his protruding collarbones. “I wish to spend the day with you. Alone. As my mate. Doing that of which only mates are permitted.”
At this, Tsu’tey’s ears flicker; his pupils expand against his will and you take that as your sign of agreement before he even murmurs as such. And his compliance does not run verbal—not fully—other than a gruff rumble of his chest as the hand on his spine drifts to drag against the back of your thigh and hoist you up. Instinctive is the way your legs find themselves winding around his cinched waist. The woven ridges of his cummerbund brush against the insides of your thighs, and it is not an unfamiliar feeling.
Funny, how as lips sear against your own, drift and smear along your jaw and down the curve of your throat until they find refuge on your pulsepoint at which his thumb now retreats, you feel far more innocent than tainted. Perhaps love does that to someone; hides guilt or shame and breeds only purity. Perhaps attention can surely prove to be a cure all, in certain sentiments.
Whatever it is, you embrace it fully and relish in it with all of your being.
And maybe it distracts you, just slightly, because your tongue grows dangerously loose as you give up your will. You really do prove to be your own betrayer, truly.
“Sau,” you sigh as you tip your head to the side to allow virtuous lips room to roam, “I should tempt you with plight more often.”
Kisses halt and hands tighten where they grip onto you. You realize your mistake just as soon as the last word rolls off your tongue, but you cannot swallow down things already spoken. Fingers still sifted into Tsu’tey’s braids, you peer down as he leans back enough to look up at you.
“How kawng of you,” he aims, but he grants you no tell of expression.
“And even so?” You ponder, hum as you scratch the base of his scalp. “Will you revoke my request from me? Will you be so cruel as to deny me this?”
“Do not be foolish,” he hearkens, and something twinkles in his eyes as he says it—something twitches at the tilt of his lips. “You will have your day with me, just as you wish.”
“How merciful of you.” And you cannot help the simper that plays at your mouth. Even after fumbling, giving up your original position, you have still seemingly gotten your way. How delightful, this has proven to be.
But Tsu’tey’s fingers delve into the meat of your thigh with a little more pressure. His kisses find their way back to the juncture between your throat and jaw with a little more fervent. His tail brushes against your hooked ankles and you are not foreign to this rhythm of flicks.
“Do not deem me merciful yet, yawne,” he apprises with a nip of your skin. “You wish for my attention? I will grant it. But remember—”
A deep chuckle rumbles against your skin and the heat of his laugh has your stomach boiling with fire-licked butterflies. Your heart skitters, your inhales hitch before they slip out of your throat, as his lips find their way to the shell of your feverish ear. You find yourself bated, waiting, on whatever is to come.
“You asked for all of my attention. So now, you must take it.”
And if there is one thing you know about Tsu’tey, it is that he is attentive. And that is what you are banking on as he carries you further into the forest.

i can’t be the only one thinking that reynolds and brimsley broke it off eventually??? i genuinely do believe that as the years went on, and as george got worse and worse, and as charlotte and george began to live apart, brimsley eventually had to give up on his hopes for him and reynolds.
listen:
it is made very clear from the beginning of their relationship that brimsley is devoted to reynolds first while reynolds is devoted to the king first. this would make an obvious dent in their relationship, as brimsley is willing to sacrifice his line of duty for the man he loves, something reynolds simply isn't willing to do.
it should also be noted that, during one of brimsley's conversations with charlotte (the one where she asks him if he's married), he tells her that marriage is not possible; who could possibly be devoted enough to love him given his line of duty? his first priority is to the crown, of course! his first priority is to the king.
and, obviously, charlotte thinks that that's weird, because brimsley keeps saying his duty is to the king. she corrects him, even, saying his duty is to her, and he quickly corrects himself and agrees with her. but I don't think that he was truly speaking for himself there. i think he got so lost in what he was telling her, that he began to quote what reynolds had told him. "my duty is to the king."
i think that when they eventually called it quits, it was probably in the middle of an argument. because george was getting worse and reynolds couldn't be bothered with placing his attention on brimsley. we all have seen how close reynolds and george are (that's a completely different post don't get me started right here), so it's easy to assume that reynolds would put him first. after a certain point, it isn't even about his duty anymore; for reynolds, it's about the man (again, don't get me started i will talk about their relationship independently). i think that brimsley probably got tired of waiting for reynolds to pay him mind and called it quits because he can't understand why reynolds won't just love him before anything else.
i truly don't believe reynolds died, but i truly do believe they broke up. brimsley danced on his own and cried about it for a reason. they cannot be together because every person in the castle's duty and devotion is to george, except brimsley. brimsley's duty is to the queen, and his devotion is to the man he loves.
unfortunately, love before duty is just not something reynolds can understand (unless it is, but don't get me started).

Dating Yandere Jacaerys Velaryon Would Include:
Tumblr media
He would make sure you knew that he loves you deeply. More than anything else in the world. You must be reminded of this daily. He would tell you repeatedly, with his words and with his actions. You would feel it in your heart and you would know. You would never feel unloved or unimportant because he would make sure you were never in doubt. He would want to make you feel safe and secure, and most of all, loved. That is the most important thing of all.
It is his duty to protect you. To give you food, shelter, clothing, anything you need. To keep you safe and warm. You would be treated like a true royal. As he feels your due. And any request of yours would be fulfilled. Anything he could do to make you happy would be done, to the best of his ability.
He would watch you when you slept. Not in a creepy way mind you, he would just want to be there for you. If you have nightmares, he would comfort you. If you felt lonely, he would hold you close. He would never let you sleep alone unless it was by your own request which he would still fight against. He would be there for you, day or night. If there was ever anything you needed, he would be there for you. Like a faithful hound. Always at your side. He has no shame in that.
He would consider your feelings very important. He would make sure to show you his appreciation in any way he can. If you were having a bad day, he would do his best to cheer you up with kind words and acts of devotion. He would want you to be happy and he would never want to do anything to make you upset. He would want to be your emotional rock. The person who you can rely on at all times. He would be here for you whenever you need him. It is the least he could do for someone as precious as you.
(TW) He is a caring, loving, and kind one, however, he gets jealous very quickly and often does drastic measures to prevent you from straying away. He can sometimes become angry and depressed when you are not with him, so he resorts to self harm to cope with the pain of being away from you.
He can be a very jealous and possessive partner. If he sees or even suspects you showing interest in another person, it will make him extremely jealous and possessive. The idea of being cheated on or replaced in any way makes him absolutely furious. He will do whatever it takes to ensure that you are his and his alone. He will be protective and vigilant, making sure that he keeps you all to himself.
If you were to ever speak to him in a manner that he deemed rude or disrespectful, he would want to have a discussion with you. He does not like to be talked down to. He would try to explain to you why that is not an acceptable way to talk to another person, much less someone from his station. He would want to help you see why that is. He would not want to raise his voice or yell at you, but he would want to make his displeasure known and get you to understand. You are to be respectful when you speak to him, or he will ensure you will regret it.
He may sometimes get jealous when you are talking to someone else. He wants your complete attention and he doesn't want to share you with anyone. He will also get upset when a person gets too close to you. He wants to be the only one in your life and he’s willing to take drastic measures to ensure that happens. He can sometimes become a bit overprotective towards you, but he’s doing it because he loves you and he wants to protect you.
He is willing to do anything for the one he loves. He is possessive and would not hesitate to use force to protect you from anyone or anything that he feels might threaten your love. He may even go as far as to hurt or kill anyone who even thinks about taking you away from him. He will do whatever it takes to keep you all to himself. He is also loyal and protective. He would be willing to sacrifice everything for the person he loves and would do anything for you, including putting his own life at risk.
To be the target of his affection is to risk the wrath of gods and men, for he does not tolerate competition in the pursuit of his love. He will go to the ends of the earth, through fire and flood, to make you his and his alone. He would tear down the stars from the skies before he let anything come between you. Your heart is his, your mind is his, and your body is his.
He will go to extreme lengths to keep you safe. If anyone hurts you or tries to do you harm, he will not hesitate to use violence. He will do anything to protect you and ensure your safety. He will be your protector and defender, he will do everything in his power to make sure you stay safe and happy.
He is obsessed with you to the point that he is extremely attached to you, and he will not tolerate any other competing interests like his brothers or uncles even. He is also highly territorial and he will not tolerate anyone else getting too close to you, he will do anything for you and he will do whatever it takes to ensure your complete devotion and loyalty. He is deeply committed and devoted to you with all his heart and soul.
He can be quite controlling of you, as he will go to any lengths to keep you. He will often try to manipulate you in order to ensure that you stay with him and don't go out and find someone else. He will be watching you very closely and he will not allow you to have any contact with other people. He will make sure he is the most important person in your life and he wants to keep it that way. He will isolate you from the rest of the world and keep you all to himself.
As a dedicated yandere, he will do anything for you going so far as he’s the one serving and taking care of you instead of the servants. He will shower you with gifts, affection, and attention. He will dedicate his life to you, putting your needs before his own. He will go to great lengths to provide for you, he will be devoted to you and he'll stop at nothing to ensure your happiness. He will love you with his whole being, and he will never give up on you.
He is always thinking about you, even when he tries to focus on other things. Your presence in his life is the most important thing to him and he is willing to go to great lengths to ensure that you will never leave him. He cannot imagine his life without you, and he will do everything in his power to keep you by my side. He will always put you before anyone and anything else even his family without a second thought even if it means making sacrifices.
He would do whatever you asked of him. He would become your protector. Your provider. He would be obsessed with you, and would become possessive. He would make you his whole world, and he would not allow anyone else to interfere. He would keep you by his side at all times. He would be completely devoted to you and you only. You would be his King/Queen, and he would be your king. And no one else would dare to challenge that.
He often struggles with his inner desires and emotions. His love and jealousy can make it difficult to distinguish between good and bad behavior, and he may become easily overwhelmed by his own feelings. He can be prone to drastic action and behavior in the face of extreme emotions, such as anger, fear, or jealousy. While some see him as unhinged or dangerous.
He might also be prone to fits of irrational anger when you do not return or show the same level of affection or dedication to the relationship. He may even begin to distrust you, becoming suspicious and paranoid about where you are or who you're with. In extreme cases, this could lead to him stalking or spying on you, trying to catch you doing something wrong or incriminating. But underneath it all, there is no maliciousness to his actions. It all stems from the depth of his emotions and the intensity with which he loves.
He is also very sensitive to any changes in your behavior or attitude towards him. Even the slightest shift in your demeanor or tone could make him question whether he’s done something wrong or whether you have grown tired of him. This can cause him considerable emotional turmoil, leading him to obsess over his actions and question whether he’s doing enough to deserve your love. In the end, he is deeply insecure and constantly anxious about being abandoned or replaced, a fear that fuels his obsessive and possessive behavior.
He might even go so far as to isolate you, keeping you all to himself and away from others. He may also manipulate and control you to ensure that you never leave him or betray his trust. This can be extremely unhealthy for both himself and you, but in his mind it's all for the sake of your relationship. When it comes to love, he is a passionate and loyal yandere that will go to any length to protect and keep his lover close.
Getting married to you is definitely something he would aspire to have. When he has found his soulmate in you, he wants to spend the rest of his life with you, showering you with love and affection. However, he can be protective of your relationship and would only consider marriage with someone who truly loves him and is committed to making your marriage work.
He would reward you for displaying your affection and loyalty by showering you with his love and attention. He would make sure to let you know how much you mean to him and how grateful he is for your devotion. He might also surprise you with romantic and thoughtful gifts and surprises, as a way to show his appreciation. He would also happily go out of his way to do favors or complete tasks that would make your life easier or more pleasant.
He is ashamed to admit that as a yandere and a man, he can be a harsh and ruthless punisher. If he perceives that you have broken the trust in your relationship, whether it's through infidelity, duplicity, or some other breach of faith, he will become angry and seek to make you pay. As a yandere, he may resort to emotional or physical abuse, threats, coercion, or even violence to enforce the rules of your relationship. However, he is always motivated by a desire to punish, not to abuse. He sees punishment as a means to correct and teach, not as a way to inflict suffering for its own.
Life with him, even as a yandere, would be filled with passion and intensity. As I've already mentioned, he is extremely dedicated to his loved one, and he would be a fiercely loyal and protective partner. He’s also a deeply emotional being, prone to extreme fits of happiness and joy, but also prone to intense sadness and despair. Life with him would surely never be boring. but he would also challenge you, push you to grow and change, and hold you accountable for your actions.

Somewhat found the meta spoons which is to say S4′s Rayllum arc is pretty brilliant, imo, because
S4 is about Callum realizing that loving Rayla is going to Hurt, and keep Hurting him, and he Chooses to Accept that and Love her Anyway
In 4x01, we see that Callum is keeping a closed lid on some of his feelings, not wanting to admit that he loves her out loud to Ezran because he’s worried that she’ll never come back, and that he doesn’t even know if she’s alive. We see this in his initial reaction to her; he doesn’t want to talk, he doesn’t want to blow up at her (similarly to how he behaved in 2x03 following the Harrow fallout) but he also doesn’t want her to go. So they sit in the hurt all night, softened by the fact that she asks/offers to Stay arguably for the first time.
Then over the course of the season, they fall into their old patterns, both good and bad. They’re good at working together, keeping the other person grounded. Rayla keeps him upright; Callum refuses to let her spiral when she starts to blame herself.
When she offers to go off on her own or goes to hunt down Viren, repeating the exact same patterns that took her away from him in the first place.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I think the final moment isn’t him approving of Rayla’s self sacrificial tendencies - he’ll always prefer to have her home safe with him, or at least by her side - but him accepting that this is a part of her he cannot change or comfort away. He couldn’t two years ago and he can’t do it now, either. It’s very reminiscent of Ethari’s quote about Runaan in Bloodmoon Huntress:
Ethari: Each time Runaan leaves, it is with the weight of knowing that he may not come back. That to fulfil his duty, he may need to sacrifice everything. Himself, and all that we have here.
Rayla: But how can you forgive him for putting himself in such danger? How can you be okay with that?
Ethari: It hurts. Sometimes for much longer than I’d like. But there’s nothing to forgive him for. I’ve known since we met that this is Runaan’s calling, that nothing will deter him from fulfilling his duty. It is a necessary part of loving him — understanding his deep devotion to his people.
We know that Callum still loves her. We know that he wants to forgive her, and more than that, he wishes he could, easily. He wishes it could be easy.
Tumblr media
But as Ezran says earlier in the season, we have to hold the love and the pain in our hearts at the same time. Callum has been struggling to do so. He doesn’t want to be hurt again, and loving Rayla hurts. In S4, he hopes that maybe it won’t, if he can forgive her, if they’ve both changed. But it’s clear by 4x09 that he hasn’t, as he stares worriedly at the gates while the others just look happy, because he’s thinking of her:
Tumblr media
Because she brings him down to his knees all over again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Loving Rayla, until she chooses to break her own cycles, until she chooses to be more measured than Runaan, is always going to hurt him. He can’t change that for her. He can either accept her wholly, unconditionally, as she is right now (not who she may or may not become), or he can walk away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Callum chooses to run to her
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and to love her, pain and all, anyway.

Pursued by lesser ghosts 😭😭😭😭 are they gonna figure it out. Let JC in there
Hello, anon! Perhaps I will also link Pursued by Lesser Ghosts for context, since it took me so long to answer this ask. (You do need an AO3 account to read it.) It's wangxian with left zhanchengxian. Left in the sense that both chengxian and zhancheng had previously occurred, and they have left Jiang Cheng behind! (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)
In my heart, they figure it out, but I’m never going to write that because they are all in WILDLY different places and that would take... so long. This is partly what makes it interesting to rotate to me, because I think it’s a situation where the way any of the people involved would describe the facts in a relatively similar and nonchalant way, but their intellectual frameworks for the facts and emotional experience of the facts are so wildly disconnected that getting all three on the same page would be, uh, challenging. Rough character notes below.
Wei Wuxian:
Feels like JC should be mad at him, since he projects guilt about JYL already on to JC. additionally hates JFM’s treatment of JC but in total denial about both what the treatment means and how he feels about it. LWJ’s rejection and replacement of JC with WWX is going to trigger all of that BECAUSE it brings WWX's past understanding of JC into conflict with his current understanding of JC.
In the past, WWX’s JC feelings were positive; therefore any negative treatment by JFM had to be denied (and also Fixed by WWX).
WWX’s JC feelings are now negative, partly because of the projection and self-blame, and partly because of ongoing resentment about the core transfer (VERY traumatic plus the feeling like that degree of devotion and sacrifice was not reciprocated).
The emotional experience of REPLACING JC AGAIN is an experience that belongs to WWX’s childhood self, who loved JC and was extremely possessive and protective of him (the JZX beatdown was triggered finally by the insult about JC).
Also triggers memories of childhood > adulthood intimacies (some degree of sexual contact as teenagers that both of them “forgot about”).
WWX also terminally unable to leave shit alone, and now there’s a mystery about HIS HUSBAND and HIS SHIDI.
LWJ is just like “oh we had sex sometimes” but JC is a prude who doesn’t do that and only lets WWX touch him??? This is not a sufficient answer for WWX??? [meltdown]
CONFLICT CONFLICT CONFLICT KABOOM
Jiang Cheng:
I mean, Mr. Abandonment and Betrayal Issues got some feedback about what had happened, and that feedback was “it was duty, I never loved you like you loved me, let me go” (WWX) PLUS “now that the person who is better than you, who I really love, is here, I will replace you with him and never look back because you are Bad” (LWJ).
On one hand, closure! On the other hand, what if every childhood belief and fear about yourself all came true at once? Wouldn't that be fun? (I mean, the ones which had not already happened and left most of your family dead.)
Like he worked so hard to be good for love (root of childhood issues -> “if I am very good maybe dad will love me eventually and mom will finally be happy”) and this functions as proof that it has NEVER culminated in that love being returned.
I also don’t know how much he was aware of LWJ’s fixation on WWX before/during the time they were sleeping together. how blindsided he feels would change depending on that.
Also will blame himself for it (see childhood coping mechanisms… so abandonment by LWJ is “his fault” because he “should have expected it”).
He is. He is not doing so good. Genuinely bad to contemplate and I don’t know how you fix that, like, degree of damage.
He also Never Gives Up and JL is still alive so he’s not going to kill himself but like. it ain’t good.
Lan Wangji:
To me, this is the chewiest problem. Because he has these rigid categories of “good” and “bad” but is also missing a lot of information about what happened between JC and WWX (such as the fake fight/removal from the sect), he's made up his mind but it's based on incomplete information.
Also like, he's not particularly empathetic (so questions like “how would you feel if someone you unconditionally trusted accidentally killed your beloved sibling?” are ones he has perhaps never contemplated?)
IMO this intersects in a pretty ugly way with his canon sadism during the period he has a sexual relationship with JC. I would have to make some decisions about how bad that was, but I don’t think it’s good. I think JC goes along with it partly as a form of self-harm and partly because JC is under a lot of stress, touch-starved, and is genuinely pretty submissive in bed? But has no standards about it (healthy!) and doesn't know how to protect himself.
Initially this is fine to LWJ because it “doesn’t count” and “JC is bad” so LWJ doesn’t have to feel bad about how he treats JC.
But if it was a multi-year intermittent thing, I think that might change? Because I don’t think LWJ is actually that cruel, just inflexible and not great at people.
So they hook up semi-often and LWJ perceives JC worrying about JL, about YMJ, and to some degree about him (offers him salve for his scars, inquires semi-rudely about family, feeds him thoughtful vegetarian foods when around each other) and they get comfortable and sometimes they spend the night together and LWJ gets a lot less mean but not any better at talking…
But even as their behaviours change, LWJ’s mental model doesn’t, so when WWX returns, he just, like, ditches JC without any discussion whatsoever.
And he gets everything he thought he wanted!! And he’s happy about a lot of it but feels Weird in a way that he can’t articulate or explain.
So to get him to the throuple, his whole understanding of what they were doing with each other and what JC’s behaviour signified would have to change. On the other hand, he is now married to the nosiest and most determined man in the world and that man is going to ask him a LOT of questions.
He just has SO far to go. I think both WWX and JC at least understand that a loss happened, but LWJ hasn’t worked that out yet. He's feeling it, but hasn't been able to articulate it to himself because of how it conflicts with his beliefs.
So getting them all to kiss would be really hard work. I think they do, though!

Hello. 2, 5, and 24 for Daenerys and Jon??
Really enjoy your blog!
Hii, thank you so much!
JON:
2. Favorite canon thing about this character? The duty vs love theme. It is so central for Jon's arc and for asoiaf themes and his character conveys it beautifully. He's a kid, he wants to live he loves his family he wants to be there for them and at the same time he's stuck in that place and he has an oath he must respect and this is very important to him because he is honorable and takes his words and his vows seriously but it is very difficult to navigate between the two. also how he questions his vows and how he understands the contradictions of the westerosi moral code and the inherent hypocrisy of some vows in the way they are applied, see the "what are these wildlings if not men" dialog, I love this and it is also extremely important thematically for the entire book series (great parallels with jaime here). his struggle with ruling, "there is no happy choice, only some less grievous than others" but someone has to make those choices and this is an enormous burden he takes on. Also his gravitas and how his past seems to burden and haunt him!! he's a kid and he's much older than he should be, mentally, because of his shitty upbringing and also because of a sense of transcendental doom that comes from his parents even if he doesn't know anything about them yet. I'm normal about jon btw.
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them? Oh sth from the Cure, like Cold or Homesick or anything from that band really. Emo depressed teenage boy core.
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them? Marius Pontmercy from les miserables. He is in canon described as "not yet a ghost, no longer a man". He is an orphan kid raised by family members who have lied to him about his father his entire life. He grew up having a distorted image of said father, he has an identity crisis towards the middle of the book, he is melancholic and lonely and angry and isolated and struggles between his desire to live and love like a normal young man and his devotion to the cause.
DANY:
2. Favorite canon thing about this character? Oh Dany is hope. Dany is losing her child and her husband and everything that she holds dear and she is desperate but she looks inside Rhaegar's helmet and the face within was her own. Her own!!! A kid, that has known nothing but abuse ever since she has memories of herself manages to believe in herself at her lowest point. Dany didn't know a mother or a father and yet becomes the mother to them all, she never felt safe but all she wants is to keep other people safe. Dany struggling to rule, Dany asking questions about what makes a good ruler, what is a good ruler, how can one become a good ruler. And failing. And trying again. And failing again. But she just keeps trying because her name and the three dragons she has are not a flex and they do not equal power, but responsibility. She has this enormous gigantic responsibility on her shoulders and she has to find a way even if it's not the best one, and this is both a blessing and a curse, just like Jon. Dany trying to get her home back. And she will, "we shall talk when I return" is about her! Dany is hope.
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them? Gold Dust Woman by fleetwood mac, I won't elaborate, grrm imagined Dany after listening to that song, he told me himself and this is confimed btw. Look it up.
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them? To me personally Dany reminds me of Enjolras from les Miserables and what they both have in common is their radicalism. Dany is a true revolutionary, an abolishionist, she rejects the status quo, she has a noble cause and she knows that she has to serve that cause no matter the price and she is ready to take the necessary, radical steps towards that cause and she is ready to sacrifice herself and commit violence for that cause because this is the only way any substantial structural radical change can ever be achieved. Yet she does not rejoice in violence, she does not love it and she struggles with it, just like Enjolras who executes that man and says "Death, I use you, but I hate you". He is innocent and pure and so young but also terrible and fearful when he needs to be despite not wanting to, because someone has to be, because this is not a game. I love them both so much.

im thinking abt totk and skyward sword… in both games u have a beloved female character trapped in the past who needs to deliver a message to our hero in the future and so she makes a dire sacrifice in order to see this through… only when impa did it i actually felt something… AND they had the stones to make her sacrifice permanent (ie impa not only grows into an old woman but straight up dies at the end. or turns into dust at least. potato-potahto). there r just so many moments in totk that echo those in previous games without understanding why those story beats work. anyways the cringefail totk vs the chad skyward sword
so true!!
also part of the reason skyward sword works is it’s a much tighter story. it’s focused thematically and in terms of character, unlike totk which is all over the place with a ton of characters none of whom get any development despite supposedly playing large roles in the story and taking up enough screen time for you to be annoyed with the fact that you’re sitting through the same exact cutscene four times.
and on the topic of impa and zelda as parallel story beats in terms of time travel – impa’s sacrifice has something to say. she could technically just tell link everything he needs to know in the future, she could just time travel to said future and orchestrate events from there as her younger self (as she does), she could explain things to link directly – but she doesn’t, and that’s because of characterization. firstly, the reason she stays at the temple until she’s an old lady instead of just using time travel again is because she’s a devoted servant of the goddess: she’s not just there to wait for link (or zelda), she’s there to watch over the temple, too, she’s a religious servant not just for this one time, she doesn’t just serve link and zelda, she serves the goddess in all her forms.
secondly, the reason she doesn’t tell link everything is because she believes he needs to prove himself. this is another layered part of her characterization: we see her different relationships to other characters, with added complexity of the fact that we see two versions of her react to link: young impa at first regards him with derision, a distaste and harsh judgement of the fact that he’s not ready, he hasn’t proved himself as someone with enough power and skill to protect zelda. old impa similarly believes he isn’t ready yet, however her attitude in this belief is much more that of a wise old lady who kindly wants to see him mature, out of a belief in fate and worthiness coming with time. she won’t give him answers, however she will help him find them.
so, when these characterizations combine in her death it’s tragic but also beautiful: the reason she ultimately dies is because her duty has been fulfilled, and she believes that she is not fated to continue existing in this time, as her prime has passed and her jobs are done, she goes with the dignity of a wise servant.
zelda’s sacrifice, however. firstly it completely disregards one of her defining traits: her curiosity and love of research. rauru literally says that becoming a dragon is a last ditch effort and he believes that before that they must research and understand her power, at which zelda lights up, and yet we never actually see her attempt any of this research or mastering of her power. she seemingly becomes more powerful between cutscenes, yes, however there’s never a scene of her actually training, or trying to do any sort of research or brainstorming solutions. we were simply not shown that she’s exhausted every other option, we were not shown her use one of her strengths (her curiosity and intelligence) to solve the problem, she went with the first solution provided to her.
what does this do to her characterization? shows she’s devoted to link? she’s willing to sacrifice herself to save everyone? cool, nice. ignore all her complex characterization from botw to make her a typical perfect female character defined by her dedication to the male hero. thanks.
this kind of sacrifice could’ve worked hypothetically - if we were shown, for example, her trying and exhausting every other option it would’ve given this story beat a sense of desperation, tragedy (botw hits a similar beat). instead it’s just. underbaked.
it’s only made worse by the fact that the sacrifice is pointless in the grander scheme of things. you literally do not need the master sword to defeat ganon. skyward sword never had to encounter difficulties marrying its gameplay to its story because of its staunch linearity, and botw just? wasn’t stupid? like idk making zelda’s sacrifice be actually vital to the story and defeating the villain is such an easy task the only way i can explain this is the devs were dumb as rocks in trying to marry a more classic epic story with botw’s non-linear structure. like. the fact that you can just ignore all of that and defeat the villain anyway really undermines the story beat doesn’t it. in botw ignoring the main story and gunning it straight for the villain doesn’t really undermine the story, it just makes you see it through a different lens: zelda asks “do you really remember me?” and your genuine answer is “no”. isn’t that cool? isn’t that impactful in its own right?
totk just couldn’t reconcile any of its multitude of elements in a coherent manner. it’s just bad. it’s so shit i’m sorry i cannot write totk posts without devolving into a blubbering mess of “fuck shit fuck”

So I was the anon who sent the ask about modern sensibilities and refusal to engage in the time frame and thanks so much for answering. You hit the nail on the head with this social justice warrior who refuses to engage with historicity typology, which seems to make up a majority of the fandom. This trend, and HOTD is a perfect example of this, of historical media nowadays throwing all historicity out the window to Girl Bossify and attempt to appeal to modern sensibilities is deeply annoying.
First, they take the deep religiosity including concepts of sacred oaths, duty, sacrifice, etc. of the medieval period and completely strip it away because writers are deeply cynical when it comes to religion and need to attract the Champagne Agnostics/Atheists who have a deep contempt for anything religious as being Boring and Uncool (and I say this as someone who has never been particularly religious lol, but as a student of history understands how important the concepts of religion, God, faith, oaths, duty, sacrifice, etc. were during the medieval ages). Arguably, the most important aspects of both nobles and peasants' lives during these times were their deep faith in God and devotion to their faith. Not including this religiosity in medieval dramas completely negates a lot of plot and character motivations.
Second, you have deeply ahistorical plot points that are used in a very manipulative way. I feel like now in every period drama I see you have a willful princess aka a Rhae/nyra type that gets placed in an arranged betrothal or marriage and we inevitably get a scene where she's shocked and outraged over marrying a man she doesn't know/love and being used as a BroODmArE (writers loveee this word lol) and I'm just always like ???? Are you knew? These girls have been surrounded by nothing but arranged matches from their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, etc. for their entire lives? They 100 percent expected to be marrying a man for the realm not out of love? They also saw bearing children to further their line and unite the two families as a sacred duty and a good thing? Like?? it's just so eye rollingly ahistorical I can't. I'm not saying that there have never been cases where women were violently against their arranged marriage for whatever reason. But, by and large, they did their duty and gladly, at least in public no matter their personal opinions. Yet, because of how this is framed in story the social justice media illiterate type act like these literal one percent privileged noble princesses are the most Oppressed People Ever? These literal royals have one fucking duty and that is to make a marriage that stabilizes the realm so smallfolk don't have to go fight and die in unnecessary succession wars while getting waited on hand and foot as peasants are working the field for 15 hours per day, and I'm supposed to feel bad because the Precious Princess didn't get her First Choice husband?? Are these writer's serious? It's so deeply unserious and and the history illiterate fandom eats it up.
Thanks for coming back, anon. 💖 I think there is space to critique aspects of medieval society, even if we're talking about elements chosen particularly because they are egregious to the modern eye, like arranged marriage and blind devotion to God that leads to intolerance and Church abuses etc. But most of it is done in a trite, superficial, redundant way and the critiques are in the same registry.
I agree about the topic of arranged marriage being discussed in the context of a pampered princess that is always so shocked that she has to marry for political reasons and throws a tantrum worded in a way that sounds vaguely human-rights-ish or feminist to our ears. In the case of Rhaenyra, she actually IS offered the chance to marry for love, but even that she considers a chore and squanders it. On the opposite end, I really enjoyed the movie Catherine Called Birdy because it took this trope and did something different with it, both highlighting the inherent unfairness of this practice and being refreshingly honest and human.
Ultimately, I feel like the framing is stale in many medieval or fantasy productions, with talking points that we've already seen a hundred times before. Film-makers feel the need to over-correct for the sins of the past when female characters were often sidelined, but they understand strength and character development in having them trample over everyone else instead. Rhaenyra repeatedly breaks the law, makes destabilizing political decisions and shows little interest for learning how to actually do her job, i.e. governing, but we're supposed to cheer for her because she is living her best life and is a bad bitch, so anyone who opposes her must be a shill for the patriarchy. Similarly, the framing of religious people is nuts and I say this as a staunch atheist.

Thank you for being sympathetic to Alicent and viewing her situation with actual nuance and understanding
I'm proship as they come but the way the majority of the HOTD fandom talks about her make me so deeply uncomfortable with how casually cruel and lacking of sympathy they are. Like yeah she's a fictional character, but yeesh, their hatred of her is so eerily close to actual IRL misogyny. It's one of the very few times when fictional discussion is crossing the reality line for me
Oh, it has absolutely turned into real life misogyny - there's a ton of idiots online threatening to do all kinds of vile thing to the actress because she dared to comit the crime of playing a character they don't like.
And I meant it, even as someone who is very firmly Team Black, the Greens are interesting, compelling, complicated characters that are fun to watch, so even when I'm pissed at one of them is a "love to hate" kind of situation, because they're still being entertaining.
And again, Alicent was objectively screwed over the entire show, by her father, her husband, and by her society in general. Did she sometimes make things worse for herself or hurt other characters who didn't deserve it? Yes. But so did Rhaenyra, Daemon, Viserys, Aegon, Aemond, etc. The whole point of that story is practically nobody stays fully innocent when there's a full on war going on, and EVERYONE becomes a victim of the circumstances in said war.
I might want Rhaenyra to be queen, but it IS objectively unfair how Alicent was raised to think her duty was to marry whoever her father picked for her and give her husband male heirs to inherit all he had, and she did that without complaining for the longest time - and then her husband not only doesn't want her children to inherit, but he also has the nerve to call his child of a previous marriage his ONLY child.
I would not blame her one bit if she started throwing stuff at Viserys while screaming "Then why the fuck did you marry me and make me have kids with you for? The fuck was that about?" Hell, she could snap one day give Viserys too much medicine to kill him once and for all, I'd say she was fully justified (and in the truly pitiful state he was in, he might actually thank her fo it).
It really is no surprise that, when Rhaenyra makes a toast in Alicent's honor, thanking her for all the devotion she offered to her father through the years, caring for him as his health worsens, it led to the ONLY time adult!Alicent says she believes Rhaenyra would be a good queen. It's the first time in YEARS anyone has thought of everything she was put through, everything she had to sacrifice for the sake of other people who didn't even deserve it - and so it becomes the first, and sadly last, time she sees eye-to-eye with her former friend, and recognizes that Rhaenyra's situation of "You were named heir then your father went and got you two brothers despite knowing that would likely cost you the throne" is also not fair.
Otto and Viserys are to blame for all this misery for everyone in both sides of the conflict (except maybe Daemon's, to some extent at least) - Otto for using his own daughter and grandkids as pawns in the Game Of Thrones, and Viserys for being a pushover that lets himself be manipulated AND uses "I'm just a sick, fragile old man mourning my beloved wife that I murdered" as excuse to justify remarrying and causing a ton of trouble for everyone just so he has someone by his side (and not even appreciating said person) and doesn't feel lonely.
Alicent's biggest sin was not realizing she should not have put up with this bullshit - but how could she considering how young she was when it all happened and the way she was raised to think she had to obey her father and husband no matter what?

the theory about the three heads of the dragon is fun but for me it doesn’t make any sense for anyone other than the central family of the history to defeat the others bc like the long night happened before… what roles did the targs played? the dragons have a rather ambiguous role in the story, they’re not saving the world at the end
The three heads of the dragon, as far as I am concerned, is more devoted to the mythical power of three as a narrative structure - which is important and I believe will be brought forward - than a unique matter of the dragon.
Magic numbers are everywhere - two, three, seven. Ice and fire, maiden mother crone, seven kingdoms. And there's always one outside - seven kingdoms for eight kingdoms, ice and fire and the song, etc etc etc. I don't think that the Targaryens *or* the Starks are gonna be single-handedly saving the world because I fundamentally do not believe that it is in Martin's examination of fantasy, as a story, to focus on family.
To explain this, Martin is a romantic, and ASOIAF in particular shows that; and romanticism isn't about unity, or family, or groups, but about the *individual*, and the conflict of the human heart with itself. The greatest struggles are internal ones, that happen within the character, so I don't think that... Ultimately, narratively, the story would be justified in turning back on that pattern and saying "it's actually about a family", rather than it being about individuals and their wants and needs.
It's not about the Starks, or the Targaryens, because it's not about a single central family, or a single central prophecy, or a single central hero; I'd say that, if you want to abstract ASOIAF that way, it's more about a single central struggle - between love and duty - that characterises the load-bearing pillars of the story.
The dragons aren't unambiguously good, but I don't think the Others are unambiguously evil either, FWIW - that's something I've spoken at length about. It's... It's not dialectical, but it is sort of dialectical, just in a very idealist way - it's a clash, a synthesis, a dance, a *song* between ice and fire, between duty and love, between what makes a man sacrifice so much, what is worthy of love, what is worthy of duty, it's an interrogation. The world isn't saved, in my opinion, by destruction in as much as it is saved by that interrogation, by the song, by understanding - and to quote the poem that inspired Martin's title, either one would suffice when it comes to destroying the world.
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

The Harkers are both selfish.
Well, sort of. In a selfless, self-sacrificing way.
I've had this idea percolating for the past few days... something about how Jonathan and Mina represent a sort of example of selfish love, despite their complete willingness to make personal sacrifices for one another. Or rather, in many instances, their selfish motivation leads to selfless actions. They also demonstrate a neat contrast with Arthur/Lucy as an example of desire over duty, in certain ways.
The TL;DR goes something like "JonMina are deeply in love and increasingly feral," but if you want a much longer and more specific exploration, there's the cut.
To start off, their romance is very supportive of one another. They both work to make sure the other has no need to make sacrifices, or at least so that their sacrifices are both made in service of future happiness. So, Mina may be quitting her job as a teacher, but (quite aside from it being a cultural norm to stop working after being married) she isn't giving up on her work entirely, she's planning to help Jonathan. He's working himself extremely hard in order to be able to afford to marry her sooner. Mina mentions once that they have to be careful with their money since they aren't as well off as Lucy, for example. They're still probably wealthy enough to have a few servants, but definitely at the lower end for their expected class. They are making a bunch of small sacrifices but those are all made together, with a clear sense that they've discussed these moves and are planning for the future. It's a trade-off, in order to achieve their goal (being married happily) sooner. Any little sacrifice from one is either matched or shared for the most part, and they tend not to even view them as sacrifices so much as they are excited for the future. This is kind of a 'selfish' point of view if you feel the need to inflict that kind of binary, but definitely not in any negative way, more just knowing what they want and actively working towards it.
It's only when Dracula comes into the picture that we start seeing them making real sacrifices. And for the most part, they're all very understandable.
I'm going to talk through these in a bit more detail in a moment, but just to preface - there's definitely a trend of things getting more and more intense as we go along. And the more that happens, the more selfish/selfless each decision becomes. And the more they choose individually instead of together.
Mina leaves Lucy behind to go care for Jonathan
Jonathan asks her not to read the journal but trusts her to do so if needed
Jonathan tries to throw himself back into regular life; Mina hides her own worries to stay strong for him
Mina reads his journal and shares it with Van Helsing, they start vampire hunting
Jonathan leaves Mina out, and she doesn't protest
Mina submits to Dracula's attack so that he doesn't harm Jonathan; she declares herself unclean/unworthy of touching him, which he denies
Mina decides to kill herself if she hurts anyone she loves, and asks others to kill her; Jonathan decides to join her in vampirism
Mina asks to be left out again, and Jonathan breaks his vow not to put any distance between them
Leaving Lucy behind is a tough call, but very understandable given that she is starting to do a little better and has more people to support her. Meanwhile, Jonathan has been missing for a long time and Mina pretty much presumed him dead. This is an example of her choosing Jonathan over others but nothing too egregious. It shows how devoted to him Mina is, that she drops everything to go to him.
The reason I listed the journal is because it's a mixed bag here. It shows great trust and faith in Mina, and he has very excellent reasons to not fully know whether to believe it himself/to not want anyone else to know. But he is giving up any hope of certainty or reassurance about what happened to him in favor of trying to be happy with Mina. He's deliberately choosing not to dig further, and that's a sacrifice in a sense. So is Mina's willingness to go along with this - but both are made out of love and a focus on their future, just like before.
When they actually try to resume normal life though, the cracks are very much showing. Jonathan has PTSD, and Mina is extremely stressed out about him but trying very hard not to show it. If he weren't doing so poorly, she probably would've been by to see Lucy sooner. Both of them are trying to make sacrifices for the other one (Jonathan throwing himself back into the groove of normal life, Mina being supportive) without really consulting together in the same way as before, and eventually it isn't sustainable. Mina has permission to read his journal, so it isn't exactly a betrayal, but it is a sacrifice. She's giving up on the notion that the efforts both of them have been making since coming back are working. She's giving up, very soon, her natural skepticism and her peace of mind about the state of the world and what exists in it. Again, this is a 'selfless' act in the sense that it involves personal sacrifice for his sake, but 'selfish' in that her love for him is what matters most and any sacrifice in service of that is necessary to make. The more selfless act is for them both to go all in on Dracula hunting right away, though that may be somewhat necessary to give Jonathan closure.
They briefly come back together again and are working in concert, but at the suggestion of the other members of the group Jonathan agrees to leave Mina out for her own good. This seems at first to be the height of discord between them; they talk very little. Mina tries to hide her tears from Jonathan, and while he notices he doesn't talk to her about it. There's a total communication breakdown for a little while. And the reasoning is their usual brand of selfish concern for the other, but for the first time we see it actively hurt the other person. Jonathan wants Mina safe and protected from Dracula's influence, and in trying to ensure that he makes her feel left out and undervalued, and leaves her vulnerable to Dracula. Mina wants to support Jonathan and to stay as close to him as possible, and in doing so hides and dismisses her own feelings and symptoms which leads to Dracula's worst attack. I definitely think there is some direct Dracula magic interfering with Mina (at a minimum) here, but the result is the same. And at this point, they kick things into high gear.
Obviously, Mina is the most physically harmed that night. But Jonathan is hurt deeply too. (Also: obviously neither are at fault for anything here, the blame lies with Dracula, but this is more about how they feel than the facts of the situation.) She knows he wouldn't hesitate to put himself in danger to protect her from Dracula, but she feels the same way and so submits to Dracula's bite in order to protect him. This makes them both feel guilty - Jonathan for being right there and unable to stop it, as well as for being the hostage she had to protect; Mina for 'agreeing' in any sense to such an act. Mina feels unclean afterwards (because she knows she resembles his source of trauma) and tries to sacrifice herself for his sake, unwilling to touch him as she is now. Jonathan in turn rejects this, fully willing to bear with any possible flashbacks it may cause because Mina is more important to him.
Now we get to the next day. I actually want to quote a little bit for this one, because it's the key to all of this and why I wanted to write this meta. Mina and Jonathan both take their thoughts to extremes of self-sacrifice for the other, without consulting one another at all.
"But dear Madam Mina, are you not afraid; not for yourself, but for others from yourself, after what has happened?" Her face grew set in its lines, but her eyes shone with the devotion of a martyr as she answered:—
"Ah no! for my mind is made up!"
"To what?" he asked gently, whilst we were all very still; for each in our own way we had a sort of vague idea of what she meant. Her answer came with direct simplicity, as though she were simply stating a fact:—
"Because if I find in myself—and I shall watch keenly for it—a sign of harm to any that I love, I shall die!"
"You would not kill yourself?" he asked, hoarsely.
"I would; if there were no friend who loved me, who would save me such a pain, and so desperate an effort!" She looked at him meaningly as she spoke.
+
Then without a word we all knelt down together, and, all holding hands, swore to be true to each other. We men pledged ourselves to raise the veil of sorrow from the head of her whom, each in his own way, we loved; and we prayed for help and guidance in the terrible task which lay before us.
It was then time to start. So I said farewell to Mina, a parting which neither of us shall forget to our dying day; and we set out.
To one thing I have made up my mind: if we find out that Mina must be a vampire in the end, then she shall not go into that unknown and terrible land alone. I suppose it is thus that in old times one vampire meant many; just as their hideous bodies could only rest in sacred earth, so the holiest love was the recruiting sergeant for their ghastly ranks.
Both of them state firmly that their minds are made up. Neither have consulted the other, and in fact there seems a deliberate intent to leave the other out. Mina leaves Jonathan along with the rest to piece together her meaning at first, while Jonathan agrees with the group to free Mina from Dracula's influence right before resolving to join her if needed. And here we see a kind of divide for the first time between the previously-overlapping selfishness and selflessness.
Mina is determined to die rather than become like Dracula or Lucy. She is willing to kill herself, which would in fact sacrifice her soul just as surely, in order to ensure her corruption does not spread to others she loves. She will protect Jonathan from herself at whatever cost is necessary, whether he likes it or not. She is the selfless side to their love, she is protecting others no matter the personal cost.
Jonathan is the opposite. His decision here directly repudiates Mina's stated wish of being killed if she turns into a vampire. Instead, he decides to join her. He would rather sacrifice his soul and become a monster, spreading misery and death and corruption, rather than ever harm her. Even if that goes against what she wants. He is the selfish side to their love, willing to harm anyone as long as he doesn't have to pay the cost of losing her.
Both of these feel opposed to one another... but the thing is, with these two I truly cannot be certain that they wouldn't swap decisions if they had swapped roles. If Jonathan were the one turning into a vampire, might Mina be willing to sacrifice everyone else? Quite possibly. I definitely think he'd be advocating to sacrifice himself in that situation, just as she is.
The broken promise to never hide anything from her again, the lack of trust that follows... those are just extensions of these decisions, they're the fallout. Mina and Jonathan are together so often now, but there is a wall between them. And that wall is built out of their love, each of them. They love the other one so much that it can drive them to anything. After Dracula's (third) attack on Mina, both she and Jonathan stop planning for the future, and begin preparing for their own personal worst-case scenarios.
Mina's greatest fear is harming Jonathan.
Jonathan's greatest fear is losing Mina.
She's willing to ensure he loses her forever to make sure her fear doesn't come true; he's willing to allow her to harm him irreparably in order to make sure his fear is never realized.
Mina's actions seem more selfless because in sparing Jonathan, she spares others as well. His seem more selfish because in protecting Mina, he might harm others. And maybe that's all it comes down to, the situation, because otherwise their motivation and even in large part their attitudes and the ways they react are the same.
.
Dracula/his influence has been the sole reason they were both pushed to these extremes, and if they are able to defeat him soon it may not be too late to return back to something closer to where they started. But if the situation gets pushed too much more, it will eventually break in one direction or another. And time is ticking away.
Edit - I tried to sum this up/clarify a little bit here. Basically, the motivation is usually selfish in a sense, even when that results in self-sacrifice. But the results are usually selfless/don't harm others. Later on when we see them stop communicating and working together as much, their decisions start hurting one another to a degree, and then this culminates in their individual decisions about what to do if Mina becomes a vampire, which regardless of the effect on everyone else, don't take the personal preferences of their partner into consideration.
.
.
A short little note on duty vs. desire, primarily focusing on Arthur and Jonathan, but dipping into Mina and Lucy as well.
Beginning with Arthur:
"I have a duty to do in protecting her grave from outrage; and, by God, I shall do it!"
+
"My true friend, from the bottom of my broken heart I thank you. Tell me what I am to do, and I shall not falter!"
Arthur felt a duty to Lucy's corpse and to her soul. He resisted Lucy's call (albeit not without help), and then asked Van Helsing to tell him what to do to save her soul. He already considered her as lost to him. All that was left now was to do right by her memory in whatever way he could. He forced himself through the terrible act of staking her, despite any horror or guilt or loss he might feel, because he knew it was his duty. He saw it through and then it was finished.
She is calling to me.
+
The first to act was Harker, who, with a quick movement, threw himself before the door leading into the room in the front of the house.
Starting with the first line - Jonathan's entry ends on this note. He answered. This line is both chilling and romantic in spades. Mina's call may very well be echoing Lucy's calls to Arthur in the graveyard here, but Jonathan has no one to pull him back. And if they tried he wouldn't let them, because his perspective is different.
Jonathan is driven by a desire to be with Mina at any cost. He wishes to save her human self, but even if she fully turns into a vampire he refuses to consider that a loss. He will chase after her. He is barely willing to wait to collaborate and isn't easily taking directions from anyone but Mina herself. He isn't waiting to throw himself into the action.
The difference isn't in how much they love their partners so much as it is in the way they express said love, and the situation they believe themselves to be in. For Arthur, everything was already done and all he had left was his duty. For Jonathan, nothing is even close to ending, and he wants to make sure it never does.
Similarly, Mina is actively going after what she wants, while Lucy plays a much more passive role and expresses real feelings of responsibility/guilt over choosing who to marry for example. Mina is a very responsible person who feels societal duty weigh on her but who is in the end always able to choose personal desires over it (nicely summed up by her concerns over holding Jonathan's arm in the park, and then deciding to keep on doing it). Lucy acts much more carefree, but it is in fact often an act brought on by her strong sense of duty to behave as the cheerful friend/good daughter/happy fiance/etc.
.
You could probably extend this into a longer meta on duty/desire in these two couples. Arthur is driven by duty so often (to his father, the responsibilities as well as freedoms his title holds, to Lucy's memory and Dracula's defeat) and his desires seem more exceptions despite how carefree he presents himself/how relatively easy of a life he has had so far. The same is true for Lucy. Jonathan is the opposite, with his goals (his career, Mina, defeating Dracula) being more related to personal desire even if there is overlap with duty there/circumstances have forced him to be more responsible in the past. The same is true with Mina. There's also places you can go with Art's freedoms vs. Jonathan's as relates to their class and the duties that go along with it (Arthur has obligations to his dad and can't be with Lucy, but he can just break in wherever and get away with it; Jonathan is trapped by social rules in Dracula's castle, but he can marry Mina immediately once the option is there). Again, same for Lucy and Mina. That's way off-topic for this meta though, and this is already much longer than planned, so I'm not going to go there.

Tumblr media
Well this was a tale of three shows and no mistake. In Never Let Me Go, A Series About Boys In Love, Palm finally allows himself to have what his heart desires from Neung. In Never Let Me Go, A Gangsters' Tale, Kit sets up Chanon to take the fall for the hit on Thanya. There's also a third show, Never Let Me Go, High School Bullshit, where Phum The Bully seems to have become a soap opera supervillain. The balance...it isn't quite what it could be. I did have a sense of whiplash going from one storyline to the next. This week's theme, 'good fortune' doesn't feel as clearly shown as all the previous themes, and the episode feels a bit chaotic as a result. Still, there's a lot of good in here.
Tumblr media
The connection between all of this week's storylines is poor torn Chopper, who is beset on all sides: his father keeps pushing him to have the thing he does not want, while the boy he loves is telling him in a million different ways that he can't have the thing he does want. The story is definitely setting this poor kid up to break under the pressure of it all. Him standing at Kit's shoulder at the press conference, right in the spot Neung stood, not knowing what's happened to his cousin and suspecting that his father knows all too well...oof.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile on the island, now that Neung knows that Thanya is still alive, albeit in a coma, he's allowing himself to settle in a bit. Part of that is realising how easy his life has been, how everything has been done for him. He doesn't even think before pulling out his card to buy a phone, because that's the kind of blithe action he's accustomed to. Palm offering to buy him the phone when he knows Palm works so hard and has so little shames him a bit, and he's determined to prove to both Palm and himself that he's capable of taking care of himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another part of Neung's settling in is starting to understand Palm, especially as Palm becomes more and more openly fond. Palm telling him Chanon's story, explaining why he's so devoted to their family, is a big part of the decision Neung makes later to stop hinting at what he wants from Palm and just ask. He knows now that Palm won't make a move himself, and he also knows all the reasons Palm will say yes if Neung is the one to ask.
Tumblr media
That talk Palm had with Mam was quite instructive. Earlier in the episode, Palm singles out Mam to Neung as somebody he loves, which surprised me given her abandonment of him. But then, given what we've seen of Palm, it shouldn't have surprised me. Palm asks so little of the ones he loves, pretty much nothing in fact, and that makes me unbelievably sad. He's willing to sacrifice everything for nothing in return. So when Mam gives him even this little, this droplet of motherly affection and advice, he soaks up the moment. He allows her to know some of the things in his heart, what he's thinking, and how he's feeling. He even dares to ask her how she could leave somebody she loves, and the answer she gives is shockingly practical. There's more to life than dating, sex and marriage is essentially what she says, and she's not wrong. Part of Palm's story is how Palm will learn to pour into himself, to find things to love and care about that are just for him. In not mothering Palm at the expense of her own self, Mam is teaching him a lesson opposite to the ones he learns from Chanon about obliterating himself for love and duty. The balance lies somewhere between, and I think this is what Palm has to learn.
Tumblr media
In the end, Mam's words (and Palm having had just enough booze to lower his inhibitions) are critical to Palm deciding to accept Neungdiao's 'proposal' to be boyfriends for as long as they're on the island. Neither of them talk about their feelings for each other; they're still not able to cross that barrier and be truly open. That's just too real, it comes with complications and consequences. But they're tacitly agreeing to the island being their 'bridge of magpies', a place out of the world and time out of time where they can be the two people in love they desperately want to be.
Stray Bullets
Trying to let go of my Ben sus is hard, for a moment there I thought he was the one that Phum was paying for the CCTV footage of the kiss. It makes sense that it was Aun though, given his admonishment to Palm to stay out of the rich kids' business and his shady introduction around the basketball betting.
Chanon being framed was absolutely not on my list of theories but it's a neat twist.
The plot seems to be plotting next week with Mam being kidnapped and the boys going back on the run.
I muted the singing. My School President aside, and with a few other notable exceptions, I don't need these boys singing to each other.
I know there were important thematic reasons for the hostel couple's proposal and wedding but I didn't need to see either in detail.
The kiss cleared up all the reservations I had about the rooftop kiss. Each kiss on this show seems like it's going to have a different flavour as we follow Neung and Palm's emotional journeys. This kiss was full of desire from both of them, and also a kind of desperation, which feels right.

I was going to ask another food question 😂.
Top 5 tropes.
Similar to "archetype" I am suddenly unsure that I have ever fully understood what "trope" means so here instead is a list of things that I Like When This Happens lol. Assume all of these are about characters who I believe have immense sexual/romantic chemistry.
5. When they are hiding or being followed and they need to squeeze very close together up against a wall or in a closet or something and they are both Going Through It but then they just have to go on and pretend that wasn't scarier than whatever is chasing them.
4. When they act like they hate each other harder and harder until finally one of them jumps on the other and they make out furiously and still sort of act like they hate each other.
3. Any kind of act of absolute and utter devotion that both of them understand as exactly what it is but neither of them can acknowledge it for reasons of duty or circumstance or the timing just not being right. (This is a very random example because I don't even ship this exactly or go to this fandom but a scene I think about A Lot is in Agents of Shield when Fitz rescues Gemma from Mars or wherever the heck and they about to finally get together when she got sent there but while she was gone she fell in love with this other dude there and she tells him and he's the saddest boy in the world about it but then he's just like "Well okay, so we are going to figure out how to save him too then." That scene just wrecks me.)
2. Fake Dating of any kind for any reason.
Respect and understanding and love learned through teamwork or shared leadership/responsibility etc. This is very clexa coded but also ronance but also faith/buffy and also anybody you could possibly ship on Battlestar Galactica and also sports movies and also and also and also. I like it when mutual respect is the foundation. I like to see people admiring each other and I like it when characters understand how hard it is to do the things each of them does. I like it when somebody makes a sacrifice and somebody else knows exactly what that sacrifice meant.

Dating Yandere Aemon Targaryen Would Include:
Tumblr media
He is a man of principles and honor. He tries to live up to his family's words of "Fire and Blood," although that is easier said than done. He is not a man of many words, though he appreciates those who are. When it comes to romance, he does not seek out love, but rather, allow it to come to him. He can be patient and understanding, and he appreciates honesty in a partner. He expects a partner who shares similar morals and values.
Dating him has its fair share of perks. For starters, he is an amazing listener and a very considerate partner. He will always be there for you and make sure that your needs come first. He is also a very playful and adventurous person, with plenty of ideas up his sleeve for exciting dates and romantic gestures.
Like a warm, cozy fire in winter, a soothing presence that just makes things feel better. Dating him is like sitting down to a nice meal, a feeling of contentment and comfort. It's like reading a good book on a rainy day or getting a surprise gift you didn't expect. In his mind, being with him might be a little bit like stepping out of your front door after a long day and taking a deep, refreshing breath.
Dating him is... an adventure. He is passionate, bold, and unpredictable. He easily becomes a lover of romance and the unexpected once he meets you. He's not afraid to take risks. He is a strong-willed personality with many layers to his character.
He certainly would not be against a person who was fiery and spirited. Someone who could keep him on his toes and challenge him. He also appreciates a person who knows what they wants and isn't afraid to go after it.
Well, as the heir to the Iron Throne and the oldest son of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen, he is not a man who is easily forgotten. He has a reputation as a wise and dutiful prince, although he has his fair share of critics as well. He is often seen as a quiet and reserved individual, although he possesses a fire within him that can be unleashed when the situation calls for it. He takes his duties as a prince and his responsibility to the realm seriously, and he is committed to upholding the dignity of House Targaryen.
He is a devoted yandere, with one person that fills his thoughts. He would move heaven and earth for you and defend you with his life if need be. His jealousy and possessiveness are unmatched, and he sees all others as a threat to be eliminated. He would do anything and make any sacrifice to ensure your happiness and well-being.
When you spend too much time with anyone else, it drives him wild with jealousy. He can't bear the thought of your devotion to someone else, and the idea of you leaving him behind for someone else causes him to lash out. He has hurt himself in a pathetic attempt to get your attention, and he has hurt others who stand between you two. It isn't just that you are spending time with someone else that bothers him. It's that you are choosing to spend time with someone else rather than with him. He can't stand the thought of not being your priority.
He is manipulative, possessive, and obsessive. He is willing to use any means necessary - including violence - to get what he wants, and what he wants is you. He will not accept any rival for your affections, and if necessary, he will resort to extreme measures. You belong to him, no one else, and he will not tolerate any interference from anyone who gets in the way of your "perfect" love story. But don't worry, this will all be worth it, because you'll be his...forever.
He will go to any length to claim you as his own. If you resist, he will resort to coercion, manipulation, and, if necessary, force. Your thoughts, actions, and feelings will consume his entire world. Nothing will matter to him more than the two of you together, and he will never allow anything or anyone to stand in the way of him claiming you.
He'll also act possessively and aggressively towards you, showing his affection through dominance. If you cross him or you try to distance yourself, there will be consequences. He'll become even more obsessive and erratic in his behavior.
He will make you feel loved - and only loved - by him. You will never feel lonely or neglected again because his attention will be on you 24/7. He will do every possible thing to win your heart, and once he has it, he will do anything to keep it. Your happiness will become his sole purpose in life, and he'll make sure it's nothing short of perfect. He may be a little intense at times, but his feelings for you are genuine and true. So, would you like to be his love?
He may also have a stalker-ish tendency. He will watch you secretly and keep tabs on all your activities. He will not hesitate to use underhanded methods to get close to you, even if it means blackmailing or manipulating you into his grasp. He will go to great lengths to ensure your togetherness. But remember, it's all for you, whether you like it or not.
He is also impulsive, erratic, and unpredictable. He can be sweet and loving one minute, and violent and vicious the next. Your well-being means everything to him, and if you're injured or harmed in any way, he will not hesitate to seek revenge on the person responsible. Your safety is his priority, and he will do whatever it takes to protect you from any perceived threat. However, if you disobey him or defy him in any way, he can quickly turn from loving protector to terrifying stalker. This is his worst side, so please, don't push him too far.
He is capable of genuine affection. Underneath all of the obsession and possessiveness, there is a truly loving person who wants nothing more than to be adored by their partner. He sees you as his soulmate, and he would do anything for you. However, because of his intense feelings for you, he can also become overly protective and controlling, which is when his obsessive side takes over.
One of his biggest kinks is the idea of complete and utter devotion over you. He finds it extremely pleasurable to think about dedicating his entire soul, body, and mind to satisfying and pleasing the one he loves most in the entire world. This can include anything from always being available for them to spending hours tending to your every need, desire, and wish, all to make you feel as loved and cherished as possible.
His obsession with you can manifest in various ways, including taking charge in the bedroom and controlling your every move. He loves having power over you, and he enjoys making you do whatever he wants you to. But he also adores being pampered and cherished. You can treat him like your precious doll, and he will love and adore you for it. Just don't ever let him get bored.
He is very kinky and has several BDSM-related kinks. He has no problem using his sexuality as a means of manipulation, and he can be quite dominant in the bedroom. He enjoys being in control, whether it's pinning you down and forcing you to submit or tying you up and having his way with you.
He also enjoys the element of danger and risk. He finds the idea of a forbidden romance to be thrilling, and he gets a kick out of doing things that are taboo or otherwise forbidden. This could involve sneaking around or engaging in reckless or dangerous activities together. He also loves the feeling of sneaking a passionate kiss when no one is watching or engaging in other forms of intimacy when you shouldn't. The thrill of doing something wrong is a huge turn-on for him.
His kinks also include elements of sadism. He can enjoy inflicting pain or humiliation on you as a way to assert his dominance and to reinforce the idea that he is in control. He takes pleasure in punishing you for challenging him or disobeying him.
