Author's Note: After a total of 8 years of posting fanfiction on this account, I am excited to announce that I am finally starting my first long-term original work as an author! The Cast: Introducing 3 Characters
Here's some info on the three characters in the header, from left to right!
#1 — Dr. Immanuel Icarus Faust
❝ It wasn't supposed to be like this... I've failed... as both a doctor and a man of faith. I wanted to follow your teachings, dear Goddess, and guide those who seek wisdom and knowledge, as grandmother did... but I couldn't even save one innocent girl. Have I become godless? ❝
Raised by his grandmother, the High Priestess of Solbrynn's temple, Immanuel was taught from an early age on to aspire to be the best in everything he attempted to do and dedicate his life to wisdom, in order to make the Goddess Adira proud. Having become a renowned physician at the age of 28, Immanuel understands himself as his kingdom's ideal of a self-made man: a scholar who can achieve everything he puts his mind to, no matter the circumstances. As a result, he has put himself on a pedestal, believing that those who achieved less than him had all the chances and merely didn't use them. Fearing nothing more than failure and becoming anything like his absent, alcoholic father; Immanuel is bound for a rude awakening.
#2 — Morgan Miralaith
❝ While you were having your existential crisis in the mad scientist laboratory you call your bedroom, I took the liberty to read your grandmother's diary. The good news is, I finally understand where all the hubris comes from. ❝
Morgan, belonging to a long-lived species from the realm of Calliah, is the second-in-command for the Elsthess Resistance against the Plague Avatars. While the Resistance on Mhorunn regards her as a capable leader and a skilled fighter; using fire magic to blaze her way to victory; it is clear to most that she has many secrets and ulterior motives. She cares about others in her own way, yet hardly lets anyone close to her. With her mischievous demeanor and cynical nature, Morgan has made it her new mission to recruit Immanuel for the Resistance and, while at it, shatter his very distorted self-image and worldview. Upon forging a contract with her, Immanuel believes that he has sold his soul to a demon. It is only upon meeting others of her kind that he realizes that really is just her personality.
#3 — Mortis Grimm
❞ People reject that which is foreign to them. You of all people should know this. Still, my personal aspirations and origins are of no concern to you. Remember that. ❝
While there are several people from the Realm of Calliah in Elsthess, the realm that Mortis Grimm originated from is unknown. He seems to be the only one of his kind and there is something sinister about him. Wielding powerful magic that matches no other in recorded nature, Mortis, despite being the leader of the Resistance, is a big mystery to all of its members. Usually donning a Plague Doctor mask, Morgan is among the few to have seen his face. He is Mhorunn's greatest ally, but hardly a trusted one. Most understand that he could just as well become its greatest enemy one day.

“Oneiros of the endless
The lord of the nether-realm
The king of the dream-world
The shaper of form”
I learned some clever lighting tricks and since this was on the back of my WIP projects I decided to use it as my testing grounds and…here it is!!
I also happened to discover this song that’s inspired by Sandman and thought it was very appropriate for this illustration, you should all give it a listen!

Hi! Just read this fic (https://archiveofourown.org/works/33748141) and the post that inspired it (https://ladycrimsonandblack.tumblr.com/post/658164849325604866/brawltogethernow-brawltogethernow-tama-gives), and was wondering if you knew any other fics where Luffy is a Fae or a Changeling or just not really human? Thanks!
Hello ! Sorry this took us a while, as it seems there are very few fics that fall under that category, but here's what we've got for you:
The closest that comes to mind is :
Wild Wind At Dressrosa by khepiari (M)
[Mod notes: I am personally recommending this one as it is set in a world of magical realism. Luffy is not explicitly a magical creature, but there is certainly a certain magic and mystery surrounding him, which gives this story a whole air of surrealness and fairy tales.]
Doflamingo has troubles- to govern Dressrosa, collect taxes for the King, a womanizing Secretary, a stupid Brother, an angry Wife and a Rebelling Son who is romancing the Biggest Troublemaker- a Wayfaring Godless Curio-Shopkeeper, who is storming the calm streets of Dressrosa. Law's heart is hell-bent to unite with the Wild Wind called Monkey D Luffy- a tale of food, books, friendship and love.
The Moonwitch And His Dumb Werewolf (also) by khepiari (T)
A.U., Fantasy. Happy Ending. Three Part. LawLu (Switch Couple) When his village gets burned down and family captured by the bounty hunters, a young werewolf pup, Luffy, finds himself in the protection of a witch boy named Law and his father Corazon. As the war ravages, the magical creatures must unite to fight their biggest enemies; humans.
Perfect Completion by quackquackcey (E)
Water sprite Luffy curiously happens upon a gathering of vampires and falls at first sight for a certain golden-eyed vampire…but will his feelings be returned?~
A Crown of Flowers by @hyperbolicreverie (M)
The Wild is a mirror, a magic realm of possibility parallel to the mundane one, and people like Luffy, changelings who've made a devil's bargain for power, walk the line between worlds daily. When Luffy makes a mad dash to rescue his brother from certain death, he sets off a chain of events that makes the very foundations of that realm shudder. Soon, he's got several other people along for the ride, and the situation quickly spirals out of control. There's something the people in power aren't saying, and it might be the key to all the strange events that keep happening around them. Luffy just wants adventure and fun and freedom. Law just wants to be left alone to live his life. Kid wants to never be beholden to someone else again. And Ace just wants some goddamn agency for once. But there are other entities in the Wild with agendas of their own, and they don't care about what others want at all.
How To Snare A Life by xairylle (E)
Accidentally ensnaring a parasitic sexual demon and being his host wasn't exactly how Law wanted to end his night or his life for that matter. LawLu/LuLaw.
A Fleeting Moment (When the Sun Can Kiss the Moon) by purplehairedwonder (T)
Once upon a time, the Sun fell in love with the Moon.
[We also recommend checking the #Sun God Luffy tag for godly Luffy material.
And finally, not Fae Luffy, but we'd like to recommend Fae Law]
To Give You My Name by cosmicatta (M)
Trafalgar Law, last of the faes, had committed a fatal mistake 15 years ago: he had given Doflamingo his full name. Now, even after having escaped, the looming threat of his ownership still follows Law everyhwere he goes. He can only try to survive as a runaway, hoping to, someday, find a way to cut the invisible string tying him to his former captor. Until he meets Luffy. He’s just a regular human. But maybe that’s all Law needs.
And, ofc, the one you recommended:
waters of the wild by ladycrimsonandblack (T)
Even to his nakama, Luffy sometimes appears just a little bit too odd. (Or: Five times a Straw Hat notices something strange about Luffy, and the one time someone knows what's going on.)
We're also happy to tell you that your ask prompted some of our writers to give Fae Luffy a shot, so expect some new fics under that tag soon enough.

✝️ PRIEST RUKI MUKAMI HEADCANONS ✝️
“Such an irrational world we live in, revering the Gods for their saving grace. But they’re all wrong—all so horribly mistaken. Only humans are to blame for their own misfortune, only humans can wallow in their own evil and corruption. After all, if your so-called ‘God’ existed… Then why won’t he save you now? Ah, that’s right—God never existed anyway.”
🛐 As revealed in the games themselves, Ruki previously adhered to the religious practices of his original family as a human child, celebrating holidays such as as Christmas and even going as far as to pray before a special meal. Contrary to the translation of his current last name, “Godless” or “without/no god,” one would be remiss in assuming he always upheld atheist ideals.
🛐 Ironically enough, his priesthood only confirms the Vampire’s lack of faith. The not-so-divine envoy holds gatherings in a secluded chapel, sanctuary to those seeking to scrutinize the Bible through the lens of literary analysis akin to any other scholarly work. Aside from its religious context, Priest Ruki deems the Bible a text rich with narrative style and allegorical elements the likes of which few modern compositions can ever mirror.
🛐 Not only has he memorized every single verse, both in the Old and New Testaments, but also Ruki has committed every translation of the Bible to memory since they all differ drastically in their poetic value. Personally, his focus lies within the realms of the book of Genesis, particularly centered around the captivating tale of Adam and Eve—as well as the mesmerizing influence exerted upon them by the cunning serpent.
🛐 Despite how impartial he is to any deity in general, Priest Ruki somehow manages to captivate any congregation to whom he preaches, likening the story of Adam and Eve, the serpent’s deceit, and their exile from Eden to contemporary life that all individuals deeply relate to on some level or another. When he speaks of how the serpent tempted Eve to eat the forbidden fruit in particular, there is this subtle yet undeniable hint of nostalgia in his eyes, almost as if he has experienced the tribulation of the snake who was forced to crawl on its belly and eat dust for the remainder of its existence.
🛐 Much like the cunning serpent, Ruki was once viewed as a mere tool used by a higher yet external force to carry out his agenda. In hindsight, one could argue the serpent, too, was manipulated, similarly to the naïve and gullible Eve. Despite being known for its knowledge, wisdom, and ultimately the facilitation of profound change, it undoubtedly had its faults; a sentiment Ruki resonates with even in the role of a Priest.
🛐 After every sermon, Ruki might invite you to stay a while longer in the chapel to confess what plagues your mind to him, akin to the catalyst of growth that the serpent once was. In spiritual guidance, after all, there is growth to be discovered in oneself. By listening to and allaying your worries, the seemingly gentle Priest convinces you to confide in him.
🛐 However, not once does he advocate for God or a higher being. His guidance is sincere and considerate for each predicament, exuding unwavering dependability in each counsel and piece of advice provided to the churchgoer.
🛐 Given his natural charm and reliability, eventually the Priest convinces you to partake in a baptism, the ultimate ritual of “purification.” The supposed forgiveness of one’s sins, the washing away of every impurity.
🛐 Before submerging you in the water, however, Ruki gives almost too sinister of a smile unfitting of any priest, betraying any of his earlier guidance, and most importantly of all, belying his true nature.
🛐 It’s as though he is a little too excited to convert you into a full-fledged member of his church.
🛐 The aquatic embrace of the baptism begins weigh upon you longer than necessary, suffocating you as a calloused hand presses down on your chest, immobilizing you as Ruki discloses a confession of his own to you.
🛐 “Everything I have accomplished and obtained for myself… Those were no miraculous work of God. No, those were all earned through my own merit. No amount of preaching, believing, or even praying can improve your wretched existence. All the confessions…? All the sermons? Just a ploy to purify you as my Livestock, lesser still a human. Yes, struggle and resist all you’d like… It only excites me more.”
🛐 Abruptly, Ruki raises you from the water to reveal the full extent of his true self as a demon of the night rather than an envoy of the divine as his fangs find purchase in your moistened shoulder.
🛐 Cloying ichor cascades from the newly inflicted punctures marring your once unblemished flesh, much to Ruki’s satisfaction as he lodges himself deeper with a pleased grunt.
🛐 Atramentous, plumose wings that parallel the darkness of his tormented soul seemingly sprout from his back as he tears into the sweet adipose. Rather than a purification, it is exactly the opposite; Ruki taints you as his own, dragging you down to the depths of Hell in your agony rather than the ethereal heights of paradise.
🛐 One curious quality his bites and his sermons share in common is that it invites and beguiles you for more, just like the serpent of Eden, just like the forbidden fruit enticed Eve. And, likewise, your blood allures Ruki with each vehement descent of his sharp fangs.
🛐 With each punishment, with each draining of your life essence, Ruki reiterates that no higher deity can rescue you from this fate in the “church.” Every day, he sees to it that you care for the anything but sacred place of worship, and little do the regular churchgoers realize, there is someone amongst their ranks being sacrificed daily.
🛐 Behind a gentle and soothing smile lurks the pearlescent daggers that pierce into you every night, spilling said sacrifice, tempting you to such an extent that would make Eve’s betrayal look like a mere, second-guessed impulse.
“Repent for your sins, Livestock, for they will only accumulate.”

Ice around Fire - Daemon Targaryen x Stark!reader
8. Direwolf and Dragon Doomed
Tumblr media
"Father will be furious," was all you said on the way home.
The wind rustled in the trees greeting newcomers from Dragonstone. You led Daemon back to the castle while Caraxes was flying above you through the clouds, searching the area.
"...for saving you? Are you that much of a rebellious daughter?" Daemon asked smirking barely keeping up with you.
Abruptly stopping you turned to him. "This is serious. That," you pointed at Caraxes above you , "...is serious. What were you thinking when coming to North? That I'd welcome you with open arms?" You frowned.
"I quite contrary think that in days to come any Targaryen and Stark that will try to forge a relationship will be doomed to be apart. But we have a chance."
"What makes you think that?"
"Hard days are ahead of us."
"Winter is coming." You whispered.
"Not quite what we say..." Daemon said before continuing. "...If the world of men is to survive, only powerful ones must be seated on the Iron Throne. "
In a low key tone he confessed what his thoughts had been occupied with last days. "A king and queen strong enough to unite the realm against the cold and the dark."
"You speak frantic thoughts, dragon." Shaking your head you felt a lightness flutter in your heart. Even with how high the sun hung and how late it must have been for you to return from practice. You did not care, instead keeping closer to Daemon as you walked towards the trouble.
Looking away from Caraxes, only barely noticing a slight move from your left, instantly catching your attention. A pair of eyes looking at you before stepping aside from the tree. Merle. A direwolf was as white as the snow. Her fur, short over her body and longer at the neck, was smooth and shiny. Her stance was confident and body muscular, this girl knew how to take care of herself. Just like her owner. You slowly smiled at your pet direwolf.
"Did you travel all the way for me, Merle?" You ran up to the year-old juvenile direwolf, already taller at its shoulder than your waist.
Daemon silently watched the two of you fascinated by the size of the direwolf as it was the first time he had ever seen one.
"You didn't think you were the only one with a best friend, did you?" You said petting Merle and looking up at Caraxes.
"I have heard of Stark's direwolves, they are fascinating. Also loyal to their masters." Daemon spoke not daring to move closer.
"That's why she went after me. When she felt someone threatening me." Merle became comfortable under your touch reminding you of a puppy.
No chance to follow in pursuit of what your father would be capable of doing when seeing Daemon, you added before letting Merle run towards the castle. "We are close already."
Shoulders back and head held high, you stepped through the gate instantly wrapped up in the attention of north people gathering around to see the silver haired man. Leaving Caraxes behind was a good idea, as you couldn't imagine the horror Winterfell people would have felt just by looking at the creature for the first time.
The tiny manservant who'd already delivered the news about Targaryen's arrival to your parents, appeared out of nowhere to escort you to your room and Daemon to the Lord Stark. The strife you had with him the night before in the hall was a moment of weakness you did not plan on sharing again. The servant quickly disappeared once Daemon was in the hall, leaving him to peer around the room.
"Almost a year passed and you return alive from that godless place, Stepstones. Are the sayings true?" The old man appeared from behind a door.
"I conquered the Stepstones, that is true. They call me "King of the Narrow Sea" now." Daemon said.
"To what do I owe the pleasure... Again?" Rickon asked.
"Y/n was attacked." A falsified courtly tone of his taken on by the normally rough voice. "I was fortunate to be near her when it'd happened."
A concern spread over Lord Stark's face and worry in his eyes that only indicated he was grateful for things not turning the other way. Daemon stayed quiet as he allowed Rickon Stark pass him.
Sifting over the man he hadn't seen in almost a year, Rickon's calculating peryl eyes glazed over Daemon silently taking in something he did not know.
"...in this case I thank you, Daemon. You can ask of anything you want, I will grant it to you. But why did you decide to travel all the way to North, so far from home?" Lord Stark asked already predicting the reason he was in Winterfell.
"My wish stays the same. Wed Y/n to me. I want her." Daemon said firmly.
"I swore loyalty to your brother and your niece. But I cannot do that." Rickon retorted with a snort and turned away, causing a little ice to run through Daemon's veins.
"You said I could have anything. I need her."
"She is promised to another knight." Lord Stark blurted out when he turned to look at Daemon. "To Lannister."
***
Daemon marched down the bustling hall, he found it harder to retrain from thinking about all of what was said to him. Be it out of spite or fact. Quickly shaking his head Daemon wanted to be rid of the unwanted thoughts. The struggle all for nothing as he stopped at the edge of the hall and saw you entering your chambers. He followed you. After stumbling at your door for some time, he raised his hand to knock.
The doors slowly opened revealing your wary eyes, words unspoken.
"There is no way that you love him." Daemon spoke, his voice making servants around shift on their feet before quieting down.
Confused, you hurried to grab Daemon by his cloak and pull him into the room before he could say anything else.
"What are you fussing about? And in front of everyone?" You asked in a low voice.
"Tell me this is not true and you are not promised to a Lannister cunt."
Your eyes scanned his for a while before closing the doors and stepping to your bed table. "Why does it matter? Arrangement has been made."
"Fuck the arrangement, you are a free woman and can act at your own decisions."
You sighed softly bringing your hand to his cheek, caressing him as if he was a little child, smooth flick making him melt under your touch. Exhaling slowly you were nowhere near focused and thoughts someplace far away from the room you resided in. "There is so much more than that. My family, my land, my home."
Coming closer past your personal space, Daemon took your hands in his. "Run away with me. To the Dragonstone. I promise you, it will be your new home. I can't let you into lion's paws."
Silence falling between you in the dog tired state that left you staring at one another. Giving in you closed your heavy eyes and leaned in. Only to feel Daemon's forehead press against yours and the dragon drop his arms down to the small of your back and pulling you into him.
"Don't make promises that you won't keep." You murmured to Daemon, eyes still closed.
"Hmm...I promised I would follow you, look where it brought us." Daemon returned softly, thumb rubbing small circles in the middle of your back. When you slowly led him back, he felt the chair with the back of his legs and you brought your hands on his shoulders to sit him down.
You stood in front of him placing your hands on each side of his face as Daemon scrutinized your nightgown. Now alone and secluded Daemon found himself nervous. It took your palm rubbing against his neck for him to look up at you.
"I saw you that night in King's Landing. In your chambers with that man." He whispered huskily.
It took a moment for you to recall the night he had been talking about. You had to draw yourself back to the present. Focusing on Daemon. Close enough you could feel his chest rise and fall with each breath.
"What did you think of it?" You asked keeping his face in between your fingers.
"I loved every second of it." He confessed as if telling his biggest secret.
Daemon remained still looking on at you, when you made your hands up along his chest and scolded. "Tsk, tsk, does that mean you stayed all night?"
"Only a few minutes." His breath got caught when feeling the warm of your body under the gown. Until your hands came up around his neck.
"Good boy." You whispered before leaning down to meet his lips. Soft as always. You held his face as he settled his hands on your hips. Your kiss passing the long drawn out sadness. With nothing more than the glow of a single lantern spilling over onto you. The kiss becoming more heated as your hands roamed over each others bodies.
You broke the kiss first, staying lost in a place with no one but each other. Daemon's face burying itself in your neck as the dragon took in a long deep breath of your familiar sweet scent.

SEMIFINALS / POLL 2
Tumblr media
Selene Cromswell (@clovenhooved, art by Ana Luiza Garcia) vs. Team Patience & Valerie Wester (@cherry-spot and @toa-arania)
Selene Cromswell info:
Description: okay. OKAY. D&D OC. Selene is a widow of a husband that she killed in the pursuit in higher knowledge and gaining lichdom. She had one son, Cyrus, who was restricted in his formative years, being made to follow in her footsteps in perfecting wizardry. She is headmistress of a magic college.
She grew up in a backwater side of the world, born to ex-adventurer parents with deep cowboy roots, and was the only child out of her siblings to not inherit storm sorcery from her mother. She has deep issues with self worth and always wants to be the most intelligent in any room.
Crimes:
Tried to murder her father in a misguided attempt at vengeance -Burned her family’s home to the ground -Murder in general to get what she wants -Manipulation, gaslighting, blackmailing to get to the top -Killing her husband thru an…. ‘accident’ in the pursuit of being a lich -Terrible mom in general -Didn’t let her son leave the magic campus, causing him to burn down a building and run in the panic
Other notes from the submitter: a milf for your consideration………..
Patience & Valerie Wester info:
Patience and Valerie’s Descriptions: What’s better than one girlboss? Two, of course! Red and green, fire and plants, spiteful god and godless heathen, and just so much drama to go around.
Patience, the self-declared leader of the high court of heaven, looks on the surface to be the kind and selfless leader to those she tries to save face for, with the noble goal of wanting Heaven to be a perfect paradise for all. Her family and the other gods know the truth, thanks to her “encouragement” for them to be her version of perfect. From the people she drives away, and to the countless people she actively seeks to harm, her insidious grasp on the divine beings can be felt everywhere throughout the realms.
Valerie Wester, a plant witch staying with her aunt in Springdale, is outgoing, confident, blasé, and consumed with overwhelming hubris and pettiness. She is notorious throughout the town for a variety of things, and when she isn’t enacting meticulous revenge, saying “we learnt something new” to justify her latest bullshit, or completely failing to understand the concept of altruism, she’s casting hexes, pissing off her ‘friends’, and attempting semi-successfully to get the attention of the various gods.
Patience’s Crimes:
Pushed away one sister (Thena) to the point that she left the entire universe and convinced the other (Tempy) that her husband cheating was her own fault to encourage “improvement”, then convinced her brother to be Heaven’s executioner against his explicit wishes Framed Tempy’s husband for the murder of someone who wasn’t even dead so she could get him and his mistress kicked out of heaven and then put the ‘murder victim’ in a magic stone because she wasn’t good enough at her job, a thing she does a lot and to anyone she just doesn’t like very much. Some of them have been in there for centuries now because Patience “”“forgets”“” about them. Intense demon hatred to the point of getting a demon-hating cult leader to be her understudy and nearly getting someone killed because their brother (not even the guy himself) was trying to convince her to let demons into heaven Unintentionally started a war between heaven and hell because she indirectly caused the death of the Queen of Wrath Total unshakable belief that everything she does is for the good of Heaven. She doesn’t understand why the higher beings of Heaven have effectively disowned her
Valerie’s Crimes:
Kleptomania for use in magic spells that exist almost entirely to fuck with people and extensive breaking and entering Compulsive lying and actively manipulating her friends Fucking with her sort-of-ex (including letting him think he’s being haunted because it’s funny and not doing anything about a rumour that they hooked up because it wasn’t inconvenient for her) Liberal application of poison including to make herself sick to get out of assembly so she could go and steal things Lack of ethical consideration in spellcasting, such as accidentally cursing half the school to see terrifying demonic visions (re-traumatising an ex-infernalist and her ex’s new girlfriend in the process) and spying on her friends to read a book about elder gods A frankly inordinate amount of scheming, including deciding “I’m going to destroy the Queen Bee’s reputation in one week” because she is incapable of flirting normally (also for revenge) and nearly pulling it off, scrying on an agent of the god of trickery and deciding she wants to outwit him, and accidentally giving a venus fly trap sentience that she then used to get the fae king’s attention. Being horny on main and a monsterfucker in a Christian Town™
Other Notes: @cherry-spot’s friends are often split on calling Patience either the worst being in existence or desiring her carnally, and @toa-arania’s friends are all terrified of Val using the word “fascinating” because it means an impending Val Moment.

some more thoughts abt zevlor
(quote screenshots | mtg color pie thoughts)
zevlor always talks about "the others" and "his people" regarding the tieflings at the grove, but tends to leave himself out.
in early access in the camp celebration if you point it out he tells you he was going to plan the road ahead but relents and lets himself celebrate. he "celebrates" by still performing a duty: he uses magic to display a false scene of stars above you "for every life you saved" and said its what he used to do in Avernus for the tieflings because the sky is pitch black.
Looking at either Oath of Devotion or Vengeance for his potential Oath, both have interesting implications regarding how his oath could have been broken in Avernus, and/or why he acts so desperately heroic towards "his people"
Oath of Devotion follows:
Honesty. Don't lie or cheat. Let your word be your promise. Courage. Never fear to act, though caution is wise. Compassion. Aid others, protect the weak, and punish those who threaten them. Show mercy to your foes, but temper it with wisdom. Honor. Treat others with fairness, and let your honorable deeds be an example to them. Do as much good as possible while causing the least amount of harm. Duty. Be responsible for your actions and their consequences, protect those entrusted to your care, and obey those who have just authority over you.
Oath of Vengeance follows:
Fight the Greater Evil. Faced with a choice of fighting my sworn foes or combating a lesser evil, I choose the greater evil. No Mercy for the Wicked. Ordinary foes might win my mercy, but my sworn enemies do not. By Any Means Necessary. My qualms can't get in the way of exterminating my foes. Restitution. If my foes wreak ruin on the world, it is because I failed to stop them. I must help those harmed by their misdeeds
For Devotion I can see Honesty being broken the easiest if we look at how quick he was to undermine Kagha. He seems almost "fae rules" honest the way he phrases things to try to get the player to help the tieflings. That could also very well be the "cheating" aspect of oathbreaking honesty.
For Vengeance I can see Any Means Necessary being his undoing, in that the exiled tieflings possibly meant so much more to him than his oath that it was broken.
Other oathbreaks I'd be just as intrigued by, however.
When he says hes done with soldiering, I want to hope/assume he means. retirement. but i think he just hasnt thought about anything but getting the tieflings to baldur's gate and doesnt care what happens to him, in a sort of depression haze where nothing (else) matters.
also, being a hellrider is for life, so the fact hes "done soldiering" despite that has weight to it, enough that even Tilses, another Hellrider, tries to tell him as much. he doesnt see himself as a hellrider and might very well intend to exile himself hermetically or die.
the forgotten realms wiki on hellriders says:
"Those determined to resign were given a final mission involving very difficult tasks, and even if they succeeded, and survived, they were stripped of their gear, exiled from the city, and named a heretic in the eyes of Helm, God of Guardians, for abandoning their post."
he's by himself off to a corner in the camp celebration, mourning the tieflings they lost on the way, and talks himself out of celebrating with them. he says he'll be "ruining" the celebration the next day.
going by what the Absolute twisted his desires into, he seems very concerned about "being a paladin again" with a god to guide him.
it sounds like he's aimless and feels purposeless, grasping at anything that will give him said purpose; im sure ge 100% cares about the tieflings' wellbeing, but i think he's also surrogating a purpose through getting them to baldur's gate. but without a Guide (gods, hellriders, a quest, etc), if/when he accomplishes this he could end up aimless again.
hes so casual with his self-loathing as if its Fact hes just a godless disappointment. His "lie that's kinder than the truth" line, if you tell him its his fault tieflings were taken prisoner he says "i imagine its worse than you realize," he hesitates when he asks to help you, and if you DO ask him to help you he says "he doesn't want to put a sword in your back. "only if you trust [his sword] wont be buried in your back"

Hi ! I just wanted to say I really enjoy your writing it’s great . And since requests are open ( and sumeru is coming up ) I was wondering if you could write some sagau sumeru content ? I’d love to see it ! Have a great day / night : D
Sumeru sagau headcanons:
Tumblr media
Hello! Thank you so much! I'm super excited for Sumeru honestly
Since I don't currently have a whole lot of information on all the stuff surrounding that, I can really only do basic headcanons, but I would be happy to flesh this stuff out a bit once the content is actually released and we get more solid information surrounding the region and characters and such
But for nowwww
Warnings: Spoilers for the Sumeru trailer, general sagau stuff, vague mentions of death, general obsessive like behavior
• In Sumeru the disappearance/death of their God was particularly painful because of how much it resembled your disappearance
• A being that embodied wisdom, kindness and love, falling tragically to something they could only ever speculate, was almost the exact same as what legend told of your past
• Those stories ended up intertwining themselves with one another, to the point that some of the people in Sumeru considered you and there Archon God one in the same
• Not in a literal physical sense, but some of the more outlandish conspiracies are that their old Archon God was a reincarnation of you in a way
• If you return to Teyvat before the rebirth of the new Dendro Archon, then the people of Sumeru rely on you more heavily than any other nation
• In that instance, they would be a godless nation, and since they already consider you to be so closely related to their former God, it's almost as if this dissension was something of a rebirth for their land and the wisdom it held
• If you arrive after the rebirth when the nation is a bit more stable, which is the most likely situation to happen, you've got a bit more wiggle room
• The people aren't so heavily reliant on you to be their guiding figure then
• But, either way, when you do get to Sumeru, it's going to be very difficult for you to leave
• The people living there often use the serenity and beauty of nature to keep you, why would you rather be anywhere else?
• Their Archon is the youngest, the least experienced, and this can be worrisome for some of them
• They know that having you around would both help with general morale, and the guiding of their realm to what it once was through your hands
• Their land could only truly flourish under your reign of course
• It only makes sense that you, in your all knowing and all seeing wisdom, reside in the nation of wisdom when they need you the most
• All the regions fight to be your permanent residence really, it's considered the greatest honor for them
• And you certainly have a place to stay in each, the work you do requires travel, and why wouldn't you want to indulge in the beauty of your lands?
• But Sumeru is widely known to have pushed the hardest, been the most persistent, sacrifice the most in order to provide you with a place that you would truly want to reside
• A place that you could consider home
• When it comes to forms of worship, each nation is kind of known for offering things that relate to their element
• So in this case, you better be prepared for a whole lot of flowers
• You're going to be absolutely covered in them, almost everything you touch is also going to be covered in them
• And everywhere you step and everywhere you look and—
• You get the point
• They're a domain that is lush in beautiful greenery, of course they're going to use that to their advantage
• Also every single statue of you that is in their domain has a flower crown
• In some of the smaller towns it's turned into a local ritual, who gets to make the daily flower crown that goes on their personal statue of you
• They, like every nation, believe themselves to be your one true successor nation, the one you favor most, the one that is most in your image
• It boils down to the concept of life and death, growing and dying, that's what their domain is founded on when you dig deep enough into it
• And of course, what is more godlike than that?

Any theories on why Belos wants to go back to the demon realm?? Like MAN that part caught me off guard, I have no idea what mold man wants anymore!
Well on a surface level, there's the obvious explanation that Belos is finishing what he started; His draining spell, his Day of Unity, totally failed. He can't 'rest' until he makes up for that failure, and not only that;
But the situation is now even worse than when he first arrived, from his perspective. Because no thanks to Belos' mistakes, the Collector is free and has absolute reign over the Boiling Isles! And as a godlike being, the source of an arcane type of magic "stronger than anybody's" that Belos knows firsthand because he was taught it by the Collector... This kid is an ACTUAL, legitimate threat to humanity that Philip feared and saw in witches all along. No thanks to Philip's irrational bigotry, of course; But yeah, it tracks that Philip feels the need to fix the situation and latch onto this weirdly vindicating threat.
And to dive a little bit deeper... Honestly, I think it's because Belos is running around in circles at this point. He doesn't REALLY know what he wants, because he came back home, and exactly as feared, as Luz warned him, it changed; Changed not just superficially, but in moral values as well. They treat magic and demons as a totally neat thing, they don't hate it; They live 'godless' lives. And the Halloween festival is the worst offender; A historical reenactment in which the witches are portrayed as victims, while the heroes of Gravesfield are slandered as having mundane, petty motives (in this case, taking the land of the accused).
There's nothing left for Belos here. Even the Haunted Hayride, which seems like a brief respite from the horrors, in how it portrays Caleb as a victim, and Philip as a tragic hero, is immediately undercut by Masha's commentary, and this type of narrative framing for the brothers is mostly a holdover of tradition, the need to spook people and not an actual belief.
Belos is willing to die a martyr; He suggests it at the end of Elsewhere and Elsewhen, when he says that he only needs to live long enough to see this through. And his actions in King's Tide certainly support this, even if he couldn't have done anything to stop the draining spell, anyhow. The Portal represented hope and happiness for Philip, that maybe it didn't have to end with the death of witches; That after all was said and done, he could actually have a life after that, return from his Hero's Journey and be happy again.
But... That's obviously not possible. The past truly is out of reach and impossible now. So all Belos has left is that original mission of hatred (and gorgeous hair I guess); No more love and longing, there's just spite and bitterness in this man. And tellingly, he's lost all of his original human guise and is operating as a monster full-time. Belos is no doubt aware that death is the only peace he has left, but he doesn't want to give up and commit the sin of suicide; He needs to justify it. It has to be on his OWN triumphant terms, so he's insisting on dying as a martyr by killing all of the witches.
Maybe he plans to return to Gravesfield and boast his evidence to the disbelieving community. He talks mad shit of "saving souls" and all. And/or he plans to return to the human world after this, to 'save' his home as well from its own corruption. I wouldn't put it past Philip to not know what he has planned and what's his true end goal, so he's just distracting himself with one step at a time, what's immediately in front of him, returning to a familiar pattern, the longest-lasting one he's ever had, even more familiar for him now than a childhood with Caleb. Latching onto the threat of the Collector as some evidence that his fears were right all along, to get some sense of being right again.
I guess it's a dark parallel to Luz, again; Philip isn't sure what he wants with his future, feels like he can't belong to either realm and is always a stranger. So he's hopping back and forth, trying to distract himself with immediate goals like 'helping' people, in order to not confront himself. He's totally lost and scared because the past has now been closed off forever to him, and what is there in the future that he never had to confront until then???

Imagine!Ex-archon Reader
Okay so this is the whole reason for me finally making a tumblr account. Idk if someone wrote this yet, but I can't find it so here we are.
-----------------
Reader! born from the stone-cold opposition shared between the elemental Light Realm and abyssal Void Realm.
God Reader! belonged to neither side, aiding the Primordial One in creating the Human Realm. She dreamed of a place suitable for life to grow and achieve.
God Reader! stood by Byakuyakoku when all but one turned their backs on them. She worked tirelessly with Aberaku no Mikoto to build the Dainichi Mikoshi. It was her light that protected the people from Bathysmal Vishaps until the device was completed.
God Reader! explored the world and befriended other beings. She helped them become stronger in every aspect of their self for she cannot bare to keep losing those close to her. In her many travels, she found a familiar in a dragon/bird hybrid. Perhaps, she won't be so lonely anymore.
God Reader! prioritized protecting those below her during the Archon War. Her domes of golden light were safe havens for all creatures to escape the destruction of gods.
God Reader! always heard the pleas of humans when they prayed for strength to achieve their goals. One night the fighting between two gods drew the land's monsters to a small village. A man whispered his wish to protect his family from the hell raging around him before charging into battle. God Reader! saw, no felt, this man's wish. This man's ambition. He wanted nothing more than the safety of his family. Touched by his will, she lended him her power.
God Reader! created medallions for those whose ambitions were unwavering. Medallions that allowed these people to harness the power of light. However, once the goal was achieved, the medallion would be returned.
God Reader! fell in love in the midst of a war. She met the amber-eyed god in secret tunnels he carved just for them. It was dangerous if the other gods found this weakness, but having her in his arms was worth the risk.
God Reader! sat amongst the Eight Archons that now ruled over Teyvat because Celestia would not permit a god to exist outside of their bubble. Even so, she refused presiding over a specific territory. She preferred the freedom to roam where she could help others grow. It was only the immense dedication of three followers that persuaded her to establish her small territory.
Archon Reader! was give many titles but the one she enjoyed the most was the one given to her by the people of Liyue. Our Lady, they called her after she tied the knot with their archon. It was always a sight for them to see the Rex Lapis walking around the harbor with his kind wife.
After much thought and discussions, Light Archon Reader! evolved her medallions into something greater. She combined her extensive knowledge, power, and will to create Visions.
Archon Reader! admired the resilience of a godless nation. The Kingdom of Khaenri'ah was smart and adaptive. She spent so much time there, the people barely recognized her as a god. Those in Khaenri'ah dreamed of dreaming, of achieving, and in this environment she thrived like never before.
Archon Reader! scoffed at the fear rising in Celestia. The high and mighty quaked at the prospect of humans becoming more powerful than them.
Archon Reader! might have been able to Khaenri'ah's best alchemist, Gold, from a destructive path but was never given the chance to.
Archon Reader! who, in her final moments, was surrounded by her fellow archons. They gave no comfort as they sent their elemental skills at her.
Betrayal was bitter on the Archon Reader!'s tongue as she took her last breath.
With all that said, imagine...
The Traveller is gathered in the Mondstat's Acting Grand Master's Office with people he met a few days ago. Everyone is tired because they just can't find information on the dragon terrorizing the city. Suddenly, Amber bursts through the door with a huge grin on her face.
"One of the patrols spotted a purple bird flying over Wolvendom!" she says between pants.
Even Paimon can see the tiny tension released in Jean's shoulders at this statement.
"Good. Kaeya, be at the gate to inform [Name] of everything that's happened. She should be there by the time the sun rises."
The blue haired man nods, a ghost of a smile on his face.
"Uh...who is this [Name] and why does everyone seem relieved she's here?" Paimon asks with a tilt of her head.
"If anyone is going to know what we're dealing with, it's [Name]. She's basically a walking encyclopedia," Kaeya chuckles.
-----------------
Anyways, that's my idea. I'll expand more on this later because I have so many thoughts on this, I just don't have the energy to write it all out into a full story.

“I will gouge out the throats of the holier than thou.” (Ren.)
@nightmarefuele
Disparate. Ungoverned. Godless. Lawless. Standing in the ashes of a planet that had once lived and breathed but now existed only as a husk. As a shell. As a monument to the folly of a one-eyed god whose realm had been snuffed out and replaced with the teeth and hide of wolves.
Ragnarok. No mouth uttered the word, but it reverberated through each mind. Over and over; a howl, a growl, a promise. Asgard was gone, Valhalla was empty, and the souls of a thousand by a thousand warriors coloured the sky as a bloody aurora.
The echo of the battle would have rippled through the realms. A sonic boom that declared death. Few remained; listless, aimless, unshackled. Wandering the universe. Her sisters were gone; scattered to the stars. Dismissed to their own devices.
He had spoken to her there; as she stood in the skeleton of a home perched on a cliff. Blonde hair soot stained. Elegant hands coated in blood. Wings still armoured, still unfurled. Humming with power for those who knew how to sense their silence.
Fingers closed around a spear, made of a metal not yet known to man. Her gaze climbed the black of him. Her eyes sought to see past his armour and find the colour of his power. Of his soul.
"You will need a bigger blade."

"heaven has been away too long, can’t find the words to write this song"!!!!!!!! CORINNE BAILEY RAE???? IN THIS GODLESS YEAR OF 2024?????? my heart is so warmed please tell me more
from the WIP ask game i’m doing right now!
INDEED!!! :DDDD And I trust you are aware of Denée Benton’s cover of “Like A Star”? I have to admit, it’s my preferred version (I am SO sorry Ms. Bailey Rae.)
So, this is my “exes trying to find their way to a new understanding” Gaultienne fic! I extrapolate Lucienne and Gault having once had a closer relationship for reasons I explained in this post. Do I ship these characters almost solely based on Vivienne Acheampong and Ann Ogbomo’s ability to emote with their eyes? …Well. Possibly.
This fic takes place shortly post-show!canon. I picked the title because it has been centuries since Lucienne and Gault were lovers, and they’ve both changed so much and been through so much in the intervening time, and Lucienne wants to find her way back to Gault but she doesn’t know how. She’s nervous. She has something (someone) to lose—for the second time.
This is a prompt fill for @rriavian, who sent the idea to me, uhmm…I don’t even want to say how long ago djdjajfjs. Lucienne and Gault unpack a lot of difficult things in the story and it’s certainly taking time for me to get through; I just really want to get it right.
Anyway. Here’s a snippet: my interpretation on how the Nightmares rank in Dreaming society.
Nightmares occupy an interesting place in the Dreaming’s society. In Lord Morpheus’s defence (and as Lucienne can admit to herself, her natural inclination is to err on the side of defending him), he truly sees Nightmares as serving an equally important purpose as Dreams do, without judgement. But his creations and other denizens of his realm can be much less gracious. Some entities are more tolerant of them than others, but many view the Nightmares as a sort of necessary evil—essential to keep the Dream Realm balanced, but not exactly what you could call respectable folk. Therefore, the Nightmare enclave is a closely knit one, guarding each others’ backs with the wariness that comes with knowing you cannot rely on anyone else to do it.
There was considerable gossip, then, when it became known that the Royal Librarian and the shapeshifter Gault had become lovers.
Few were sincerely happy for them. The external disapproval, explicit or implied, was not the only cause of Lucienne and Gault’s eventual split, but it didn’t make matters any easier.
