This has long been a favourite commission, one of the first I had done, and I got REALLY lucky in finding Mitch Ballard as he knew exactly how to translate what I was asking for, in a suitably comic appropriate way, and this is a classic example.
I'd asked for Deathstroke having captured Dick Grayson's Robin, circa New Teen Titans era, and posing with his catch like the big-game hunter Slade had been, maybe with Robin caught in a net or something, but Mitch had a much better idea (Which is why you should always let the artist have their say)
So Slade has indeed captured Robin, and is probably having his photo taken with his prize trophy. The plaque above the fireplace reserved for, presumably, Robin's mounted head, was a nice macabre implication without going TOO far. This is something that could easily have been a genuine cover or a splash page in the 80's.
But one thing I especially liked (which isn't always obvious from the scan quality I could originally post) and made me realise that it was lucky I'd found Mitch, was just how ANGRY he made Dick. The Teen Wonder may be pretty helpless right now, but it os clear he is NOT going to make ANYTHING easy for Slade.
(The annoyance/anger is something I instantly realised I wanted to see in my captive Robin's and so became a regular addition to my commission description, but Mitch is the one who made me realise that)
Dick is tensed up and leaning away to get as much distance between him and Slade as he can whilst tied up and with a rope around his neck, plus he is probably working away at whatever his binding his wrists as hard as he can.
I mean, just check out that GLARE! He is working on several shades of payback on Slade right this moment!
And here it is with colours by Tom Smith, one of George Perez's preferred colourists.

Batman: Can anyone tell me some of Robin’s nicknames?
Artemis: The boy wonder
M’gann: Little birdie?
Kladur: I believe I have heard you call him ‘Chum’
Connor: Little bat
Wally: Dick
Batman: Wally, no. There’s one more.
Everyone: hmm…
Connor: some villain called him ‘The Boy Hostage’ the other day.
Batman: Right, you got it! Now, here’s the plan to save Robin.

A report just came out from a Palestinian hostage saying he was strapped with bombs and sent into a Hamas tunnel, with Israel prepared to blow the tunnel up with his body if fighters were found inside and yet people are still making the “Hamas uses human shields” arguments that have been confirmed to be a myth with no supporting evidence

i will accept and forgive and understand anything neytiri throws at spider because it comes from a place of trauma and considering what humans have done to her people is understandable. jake sully however, is human, i don’t care how blue he is. he referring to spider as a pet will not be forgotten. i will be watching him with a microscope next movie and i’ll choose violence. jake is literally the only character that i expect to treat spider better i don’t care.

Such is the nature of GRRM's prose and plotting that I always feel as though I am trying to keep track of where and who everyone is and what they are doing, just in case they turn out to be important later. But I have, in A Clash of Kings, had what I think is the first instance of me encountering something that fandom opinions indicate will be important later that I would not have picked up on otherwise. This is the first encounter of Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth.
Obviously I know where Brienne is during this significant interview between Jaime and Cat. I never lose track of people carrying swords during significant meetings (and also, I already love Brienne, my sweet sword-carrying gnc icon.) But I know, I know that there are people who ship Jaime and Brienne. And here we have, on the one hand, a young woman barely out of adolescence, gawky, in many ways still naive. She is fierce in her loyalties and loves, and good at fighting for what she wants. She is also still in mourning for the object of her first ardent, idealized attachment. On the other hand we have a man ruthless by habit who is chained, filthy, insolent, and incidentally drunk. Oh, and he also appears to be in the middle of a prolonged existential crisis.
In short, I have no idea how people's fevered imaginations (affectionate) have gotten these two characters from Point A (see above) to Point B, but I am deeply impressed.

Because sometimes, in this fake artificial intelligence driven "artwork" world we are in these days, you want to remind yourself how a genuinely brilliant artist like George Perez depicted a sexy, imperilled Dick Grayson Robin.
And also seeing sexy, imperilled Dick Grayson Robin be more than a bit of a badass by not breaking under pressure.
(And I've aid before, bonus points to Brother Blood for A) developing an "electronic lash" which seems to shred clothing, but leave skin unmarked, and B) for being a good boss, as he reassures the Confessor he'd done a good job despite failing, and knows the names of his underlings.)

I 100% believe Dick should have the most insane pain tolerance known to man.
it’s not even a trained thing, he’s just been through some shit.
I need him to scare the shit out of people with it too. with villains it’s on purpose. other heroes he just forgets he’s absolutely insane.
