Adam: It's like I always say: keep your friends close and your enemies so close that you're almost kissing.

Noah: So we get the kids in the forest, and then we take them to a nice comfortable place in the bunker, and, you know, they can't refuse to be put in the time machine. Because of the implication.
Helge: ... Oh. Uhh, okay, you had me going there for the first part, but the second half kinda threw me.
Noah: Think about it. They're out in the middle of nowhere, and they look around, what do they see? Nothing but dark forest. "Ahh, there's nowhere for me to run! What am I gonna do, refuse to go in the time machine?"
Helge, nervously: Okay, uh, hahaha... That seems really dark!
Noah: Nah, nah, it's not dark, you're misunderstanding me, bro!
Helge, relieved: I'm misunderstanding you, yeah, I think I am!
Noah: Yeah, you are! Because if they say no, then the answer obviously is no, right?
Helge: Yeah, of course!
Noah: But the thing is, they're not gonna say no. They would never say no. Because of the implication.
Helge:
Helge: You-- you've said that word, "implication," a couple of times. What implication?
Noah: The implication that things might go wrong for them if they refuse to help us. You know, not that things ARE gonna go wrong for them, but they're thinking they will.
Helge: ... but it sounds like they don't want to go in the time machine.
Noah: Why aren't you understanding me?!
Helge: I don't--
Noah: They don't know whether they want to time travel or not! That's not the issue!
Helge: Are you gonna hurt people--?
Noah: I'M NOT GONNA HURT THESE PEOPLE! Why would I ever hurt these people? I feel like you're not getting this at all!
Helge: I'm definitely not getting it!
Noah: Goddamn!
Jonas:
Noah: Well, don't you look at me like that, Jonas! You certainly wouldn't be in any danger!
Helge: SO THEY ARE IN DANGER?!
Noah: NO ONE'S IN ANY DANGER! How could I make that any more clear to you?

Noah: Charlotte, this is very complicated, because this person, who I recently found out is my daughter, she’s, well… she’s someone from Winden.
Charlotte: Ooh, gossip! Who is it, Noah? Who is it?
Noah:
Charlotte: Who is it?
Noah, quietly: Charlotte…
Charlotte: …Who?
Noah: …It’s okay, Charlotte… it’s going to be okay–
Charlotte: No, no, no, no, no…. oH MY GOD! NO! NOOOOOOOOO–
———————————————
Noah, to the camera: That could have gone one of two ways. But I never expected her to get upset.

lol I like how my chibi version of them on the preview makes dark appears as if totally not the most depressing and hardcore sci-fi series ever existed
