Merry Christmas, everyone. Benevolent horrified me. At least Arthur was wearing a silly little sweater vest.

Okay but listen
The Ghost Zone is vast
Infinite one might say
Almost none of its residents met their new King before he was crowned
So like 99.9% of all the ghosts are very respectful of young King Phantom, he’s done great things, saved us from Pariah, 10/10 would crown
The remaining 0.1% is Danny’s Entire Rogue Gallery
And some of ‘em, some of the less common ones aren’t really sure where they stand now, so they won’t give him a reason to fuck them up
The others? Like Johnny and Ember and Technus and Youngblood and Wulf?
That’s their fucking Babypop
King Babypop if he whines but they’ve known him waaaay too long to give a shit if he’s the king
What I’m saying is the Justice League somehow get to the court of the Ghost King to ask him for something, it’s extremely impressive
The buildings are magnificent, the ghosts are their weird and wonderful selves, and every single one of them speaks of their new liege with wonder and appreciation
They make their way to the throne, he looks young but regal with a blazing blue crown on his head and a council of obviously very powerful beings at his sides
Beside the throne is just a fucking brick shit house in plate-mail with a massive sword ready to cut them down if they breathe wrong to the king
The hall falls to respectful silence when this young king speaks
And then half way through the meeting a fucking rockstar with flaming blue hair leaps in through the window and tackles the king straight outta his chair
This very dignified regal figure they’ve been negotiating with (he’s heard of them, he’s been very accommodating and seems to really want to help) is Under Attack
Is it a coup??? His knight hasn’t even moved, the council just continue on as if nothing’s happening, the king is wrassling like a puppy with another ghost who looks about the same age, both screaming profanity
Before the league can decide to get involved, King Danny gets a foot on Ember’s chest, punts her across the room, screams after her that no one can hear you sing in Soup Jail, and returns to the table
“Any way we can add a music deal to this package?”
Ember takes a seat at the table like nothing happened, she’s clearly not supposed to be part of the proceedings but she’s here now and she’s into it
And about two hours later it fucking happens AGAIN cuz Kitty comes barrelling in through the door and goes for Danny’s throat, once again no one else moves except Ember, who fucking dives right in and screams at Kitty for fucking up her new recording deal
(There’s also shit like “defeat Apokolips, defend the Earth, seal Darkseid in a jam jar or whatever” on the table but Ember only cares about one thing)

Electric core this ice core that firecore blah blah blah. All of these ideas are great but unoriginal. I propose a new idea:
Introducing New Life core
You may be asking, "What's a life core?"
Allow me to explain a life core allows its host to create. This could be anything from inanimate objects to something akin to poison ivy level (or a darker mad scientist Dr. Victor Frankenstein level)
So I propose a Fic in which Danny himself has a life core and uses it to be poison ivy without the Eco-terrorism or he fights someone with a life core I don't know this idea came to me randomly and I must write about it can we normalize the life core?
Also just imagine the confrontation between the bats and the birds and Danny, him having to explain that no he isn't a poison ivy clone and no he will not use his powers for Eco-terrorism please stop asking
Additionally King Danny turning pariah's haunt into something akin to pink diamonds garden and the Steven Universe movie covered wall to wall and pretty Vines and flowers that may or may not be fluorescent

People that think fancy 1 of 1 diamond rolex watches and lamborghinis are a sign of oppulance have truely never witnessed the opressive force of a well off commissioner whose OC is in 50% of all the art in their niche fetish. THAT is where the true kings make themselves known

If Jaune actually were to go villain, he would be not be an omnicidal maniac; he would be an absurdly overpowered yet well-intentioned tyrant....
He would have the ambitious persistence of Cinder... The inhuman resilience, endurance and sheer overwhelming power of Hazel... The manipulative and vindictive cunning of Salem... The self-destructive selflessness of Ozma... The unyielding and unrelenting determination and conviction (read: stubbornness) of Ironwood...
...and to top all of the above: an undying body as well as an eternal soul that both evolved beyond humanity due to overuse of Aura Amp pretty much making them transcend into becoming superhuman. In other words, he has acquired both of Salem's (cannot die by old age or illness and instantly regenerates any damage inflicted to him and instantly regenerates any spent Aura) and Ozma's (even IF his body is somehow destroyed, his soul will still persist and, unlike Ozma, he can actually choose which vessel to possess as his next body) forms of immortality naturally and by accident instead of as a curse (because it would not be Jaune Arc if he doesn't get double the suffering than the previous Big Good and Big Bad)... He can be beaten, but not by strength, nor underhanded tactics, nor by outsmarting him, and definitely NOT by outlasting or out-stubborning him. He can only be defeated by making him acknowledge that he needs to rest and to finally trust that people under the yoke of his well-intentioned tyranny won't all suddenly die without him.

I’m no stranger to bad Disney villain discourse, but “King Magnifico was actually a good person” is really up there. The man is an absolute monarch who surgically removes his citizens’ ability to question his authority the instant they become adults and then only gives it back after carefully auditing them for any potential rebellious tendencies. “Sorry Asha, your dad wanted to play the lute and inspire the younger generation but what might he inspire them to? Greed? Envy? Democracy?” Oceania wishes it had what Magnifico has, Rosas is a horrific dystopia with a pretty theme song.

Some positives/things I liked about Wish
benevolent evil - I'm doing this to protect you and I should be given praise for that; unique in Disney; I can appreciate it as not having a twist villain but also approaching it differently
everyone's a star - I like the concept; all living creatures (trees and animals) contain a wish (a dream, a vital aspect of their heart/livingness)
the above is relevant in defeating the villain
also like that he's defeated by the unified stance of people against him (saw a comment saying it was very Disney to defeat the villain by singing and I thought: no it's not, but it is for My Little Pony, so I'm for it)
the end credits!!!
the design and style of the movie; lots of Sleeping Beauty design call backs; a few nods to Snow White and Peter Pan
two girls as friends, both of which are woc and one who is non-abled
not having to explain every detail; it's okay to leave things vague; we don't need to know the details of Magnifico's backstory
the story was built on the bones of Disney meta
having a group of friends actually be semi-relevant to the story

obviously people are allowed to form their own opinions about things. however. the amount of objectively incorrect takes i have seen about immortal longings that clearly stem from a complete lack of reading comprehension is absolutely absurd.

Head canon about the mask👀
I really do feel inclined to believe what Odin's says despite all the signs that say don't do that. But Freya did say that even when Odin tells the truth that his purpose is false soooo... I think he was telling the truth about what he knew/believed about the mask.
The mask is the answer to any and all questions, possibly the answers to magic that would otherwise be impossible in the Nine Realms. Odin said that he doesn't know where he goes when he dies so he wants to know and wants to know potentially how to prevent Ragnarok. Makes sense. This man doesn't want to die, doesn't want his people, realm to die, and fears the unknown.
Or so he says. Assuming he's telling the truth about the mask but not his purpose with wanting it, I'd say there's truth in the fear of the unknown because Odin constantly craves knowledge. He wants absolute control over himself, Asgard, all the realms, everyone as people, and possibly to extend his control further if he feels like it... So the mask, in Odin's hands, could be a tool to control everything in the realms because it grants him all knowledge to do so
