i know i have said this a million times already, but...

i have to distance myself from my family.

every. damn. time. i spend time with them for more than a few hours, and i go into full relapse. i feel bad. downright awful. it's like all the trauma and Bad Feelings from 10-15 years ago came back. they don't treat me badly, just... i feel invalidated. like a child. i'm not your lil addi anymore, i'm a grown ass adult with hobbies, feelings and A PERSONALITY. there is just... so much trauma and stuff. it can't be mended by time... or compliments. idk.

gotta stop caring. saying no to birthday parties and other family gatherings. that kinda stuff. it's enough.

Update: just updated my resume and sent a message of thanks thay Deputy for her constant buoying encouragement, even when I started off a little bristly at the prospect of "cop"

I may just land a $66k Analyst Dream Job because of this woman who consistently holds herself, her department, and her peers both accountable and encouraged.

It shocks me that she exists and is truly the rare exception to unfortunate law enforcement trends. The rest of her team are varying levels of "snarky schmuck who is tolerable as long as its comfortable for him" to "full on conservative dickhead"

#seriously this lady teaches victims of rape gun safety and then takes them out for breakfast out of her pocket every month #she is anti-gun outside of necessity #she teaches self-defense at 63 #I cannot believe us bonding over snark might lead me to having the privelege of having her as a coworker as I literally combat what is #essentially the gerrymandering of whats considered crime by CPD #also its an extremely interesting job #that helps #personal

I think I’ve figured out what I’m going to do with the fic I pulled from the big bang. I want to go back and write what happened before the part I started with. Originally, it just launched right into the action but I think adding some build up, a bit more worldbuilding, and some character backgrounds since it’s an AU should give the rest some more impact. I feel like that’s what’s missing and why I was so unhappy with the fic when I decided to drop out.
