So I can't say "Criminals are rapists and child predators" but you're 100% okay to say "Criminals are actually misunderstood racially profiled black people minding their own business who were arrested unjustly and all cops are racist and only arrest out of racism?" Okay. Have a lovely life, bye!
That's a strawman. I guess the harassment isn't doing you any good, so I'll let it slide and keep up the good faith.
I have not said any of this. I've said that there are a lot of wrongful convictions and that basically making slavery even more legal than it already is would only lead to more of them.
It's already how it works.
I'm sure sometimes cops catch someone comitting b&e and that guy lands in prison because that's illegal. The thing is, why did that guy break and enter in someone's home? Is it because they're a rapist child predator? Or is it more likely that they were out to steal something they could sell for a bit of cash? Do you think slavery will fix them?
What I'm saying is that your reasoning assumes two things
criminals are all rightfully convicted
criminals do crime because they're evil
And I'm telling you that this is not the case, and I'm explainign to you how the prison industrial complex works.
Now, sure, I don't think you deserve the tumblr harassment mob you're getting, I mean that'd be pretty hypocritical of me to say "no cops no prisons but harassment and people telling you to kill yourself over and over again because you said something dumb on the internet are a-ok". I'm telling ya where you're mistaken about the argument, and that yeah, ignoring how racist the police is.

Again, I say all this assuming you are asking a good faith question, and want to actually understand why people are reacting the way they do to what you said, but even if you don't, well, I hope these videos will find their way to someone who needs them to inform their point of view on the subject.
In the mean time it's always good to remember who gets to decide what is a criminal, and what they get to do to them.
The war on drugs is a perfect example of how the overcriminalization of non-violent drug offenses was pointedly used to exclude black people from US democracy by the US government.

I'm looking at the Zora May prompts and wanna write stuff, and now my brain's just giggling with ideas LOL like--
Imagine, after Age of Calamity, that Link and Mipha get together. That has its whole set of fun and drama - a Hylian/Zora marriage would mean a lot anyway, but particularly when it's the Zora princess and the Hero of Hyrule. Link and Mipha start to have a family, Zelda is settling into being queen, and they all have their own set of stressors and joys and the three are still besties and it would be just so funny to see y'all. Like... Link takes his oath as a knight seriously, so he still assists Hyrule often, and just this scenario in my head came and--
Zelda, sighing: I hardly slept last night. I was up late researching the latest Zonai discoveries and almost forgot I had a meeting with the Rito delegation this morning. I'm so tired.
Link, hair a mess, on his third cup of coffee after dealing with one of his kids having a meltdown while the other kept everyone up crying all night, dealing with Mipha also trying to do royal duties, having just teleported over here via Sheikah towers: .....That sounds rough.

Dating Lilia is pretty much dating a single dad. And I'm all for it. When he retires he'll live in a forest cottage with you and when you mention wanting kids (bio or adopted or BOTH) because you just love this single dad and want to raise kids with him and see how unconventional his methods are in person
something unimaginable sparked that's a whole 180 from how fluffy this ask is i'm sorry JWJGKJWKJ
knee ways, i'm seeing this in all pre-silver/sebek/malleus arc or they're just not here. so it's just you and lilia. that little cottage of his in the middle of the woods? he'll build and repair it as much as possible both with magic or with his own bare hands. war has done mental, physical, and magical damage on him so all he wants to do is just relax and reflect on everything that just happened.
it'll take quite some time for him to really know how to relax and not just suddenly jolt out of sleep because, not only with his fae senses, he still got the adrenaline of war still running through his veins. most especially since he's really protective of you? but lilia can adjust fairly quickly so when he finally gets the well needed retirement he deserves, that's when it dawns on him on just how quiet the house is. the size can fit at least a small family of four and there's only two of you so when you both discuss the want to expand your family, this fae is more than thrilled.
he's a fae, he has lived centuries, and he likes being in a familial group so he doesn't care whether it be biological or adopted. it's rare for faes to reproduce biologically, so if you do indeed have at least one biological child, he's still has to get used to treating her/him like a LEAF. if you adopted one that's already fairly near the toddler age, you need to constantly remind him that that's a CHILD not baul.
but, trust in maleficia when she made lilia vanrouge to look after the country, that this man is probably one of the best fathers among the cast. even with his ethically questioning methods, he's there, a father. those sudden jolts in between sleep? it's back but this time your child is probably disturbing his rest because they're hungry or lilia nearly dropped her/him mid-sleep. they'll be fine.
him feeding a 5-month old using a mug? he's trying. him leaving the kid in a basinet outside under the sun while he does the laundry and eventually forgetting about them? thank maleficia it's not summer. him bathing the child in the lake nearby? great seven the kid eventually learned how to swim at the ripe age of 2.
he'll be very affectionate but can be quite strict. he'll let them have a childhood, but still make them remember that they're in briar valley — anything can pounce. if you had kids post-war where everything's still calming down, best believe he's using his authority to just protect. not to the point of being chokingly authoritative. he's an understanding man and he wants the best for his family.
and i'm sure his children will be proud one day to just boast that their father is THE lilia vanrouge, former general of briar valley.
but that doesn't excuse the fact he's allowed in the kitchen. you take the pan, honey.

Oh god, it was such a tiny tidbit of a moment within the new season, but one of my absolute favorite things was when Kai was lecturing Wyldfire about patience. Him thinking about how much she reminds him of his younger, more hotheaded self. How he guided her through the forms that helped him cope when his sister was the ocean. How it was just so clearly shown that he was growing a soft spot for this little spitfire hellion right on screen as we were watching. It was just… so precious. Literally all I could think about for the rest of the episode….

I've recently been noticing some angermanagement (jason/jazz) ship posts on my dash.
And my brain only saw the potential family dynamic in those posts. Like,,,just consider this,,,, jazz grows up, moves to Gotham to work as a therapist, her highly traumatized recently dissected non aging little brother follows her. Jazz meets Jason, Danny's happy that Jazz's happy and still is very traumatized. Jason and Jazz grow closer and Jazz introduces Jason to Danny. She introduces Danny as her recently orphaned little cousin and mentions nothing about ghosts.
Danny has a LOT of trust issues and so does Jason so their first few series of meetings are awkward as hell. But they do get along eventually and it turns out Bryce's genes did carry over and he ends up sort of adopting Danny.
Until one day, Jason sees Danny hurt himself while chopping vegetables (or smth idk) and instead of red blood, green ectoplasm flows out of the wound. Jason recognizes that as something distinctly almost like the Lazarus pits and has an internal freakout.
And then he connects some dots on Jazz's polka dot dress and comes to the conclusion that Danny must be Damien's brother or relative (because they look just so alike) who was experimented on by the league and that Jazz, who also was part of the league, managed to grab Danny and run away.
And to him, that explains everything. It explains how Jazz fights like she has real world experience, it explains why she's distressed leaving Danny alone for even short amounts of time, it explains Danny's sheer reluctance to trust anyone other than Jazz, why he assess every room he enters and his absolute fear of hospitals.

MILGRAM, but instead of forming my own opinions I scroll randomly through the YouTube comments of each video, take the first theory I see, explain it poorly to my father and have HIM judge them guilty/innocent based off of that.

I explain the vagueness of the video.

“So, basically... did she intend to kill him? Or did she try to beat him up and get carried away?”
I explain that she did intend to kill.
“Y’know, the fact of the matter is, as great as it sounds, I don’t really condone vigilantism. She knows exactly what she’s doing, right?”
I say yes.
“Okay, well, in that case, then I would think that she should be prepared to face the consequences.”
“Yeah, so this also sounds like someone who feels that they are above society’s rules. Not something I feel completely comfortable with, even if now they appear to be doing things on the right side.”

Feel like we’re too focused on our favourite ships and/ or the characters we have a crush on to realize that xo kitty isn’t just about love and what ship’s endgame, it’s about kitty learning about her background and discovering herself.
Kitty herself is trying to be her own individual and have her own journey/ adventure (she’s says so herself).
I think that’s why people think Kitty being bi is “random” (it really isn’t but if you wanna be dense that’s your issue). Too focused on who Kitty ends up with and not who she ends up as.
I also think this effects how people look at kitty as “just some white girl koreaboo looking for cute boys in Korea” and think she’s annoying cuz she’s not your perfect self insert (she’s a teenage girl she isn’t supposed to be).
