The wildest part about being a system and having known you are a system for a while (6+ years for us) HAS to be seeing people who are just figuring it out fall into holes that you've long left behind.
Like. Yeah. We also thought we needed to keep tabs on everyone to increase communication. In the end it became too unwieldy. Especially since DID evolves with what you experience all the time.
Microlabels are cool and I fully support anyone who uses them, but figuring out what to call every single structure in your system isn't for us anymore.
Another thing we notice is people who try their best to know who is fronting at all given times. A lot of that comes naturally to us nowadays, but it's also... OK not to know. Especially if you're not focusing on anything system related at the time.
I guess a lot of this boils down to, it's okay not to care. It's okay to go with the flow of things and figure out at your own pace. Identity is fluid, especially if you have a dissociative disorder. You don't HAVE to have everything figured out 100% of the time.
It's okay to take it slow. It's okay to not know. It's okay to just exist for a bit. It's okay to live and experience things beyond being a system.
To all the people who are just starting to comprehend this. You do not need to know and label exactly what is happening in your head all the time. Fuck, we sure don't. And we're happier for it.
It's okay to just be you.

I love systems who make picrews and pinterest boards and playlists for different headmates, systems who have different styles of clothes and makeup depending on who got ready in the morning, systems who are unapologetic in their plurality and joyful in their expression.

it's really heartwarming & validating to see such a large spectrum of DID experiences under people who have been professionally diagnosed.
i used to fear that my system was too "odd" to ever receive a diagnosis for DID. however, on tumblr, i have met diagnosed systems who:
are introject/fictroject heavy.
have 0 introjects.
were diagnosed as minors.
were diagnosed quite late in life.
experience polyfragmentation.
have very high alter + fragment counts.
have 2 or 3 alters.
use neopronouns.
are transgender or have bodily transitioned.
have no innerworld.
have a complex & vivid innerworld.
didn't know they were a system before being diagnosed.
knew they were a system before seeking diagnosis.
are overt, obvious & cannot mask.
are highly covert & completely secretive.
there is such an array of experiences being shared on this website, & it tells me that there is hope for all of us to receive a diagnosis*, care & recovery help.
*if that is what you want!

I canNOT stress this enough how being neutral in a "I want you to stop existing/die" "discourse" is a fucking problem and makes you part of the problem.
if you acknowledge that you don't know enough to have a fully formed opinion MORE POWER TO YOU. valid. brave of you and mature to announce that. it's FINE and NORMAL to say that you don't know enough and are actively trying to learn better to have a stance on that
but, and especially if you're part of said group that's having the issues/causing the issues, decide that labelling yourself as "neutral" and refusing to do any work, is a fucking good thing to do that does not further harm a community you're fucking wrong.
By stating in your bio that you're neutral you're basically saying that you'd stand here watching people say I'm not real while drinking coffee in the sidelines and being all friends with people furthering my oppression, while also trying to be friendly with me, which is fucking hypocritical
I do NOT feel safe near you. you either acknowledge that I'm ALIVE or get the hell out of my sight.
You cannot afford to stay silent. I CANNOT AFFORD YOU TO STAY SILENT.

I swear there are no pro-endo accounts that coin/name terms or make user boxes for systems. Like they all say "making a place where you can have terms/boxes away from pro-endos :)" THERE ARE NO PRO-ENDO ACCOUNTS??? It's so fucking annoying. I just want to have some user boxes and use terms that describe me and my system. But no, everyone fucking hates us.

the #1 defacto joke for the plural community, that I’ve heard a million times, is
“I can’t use they/them for you, you’re not multiple people” ok but what if I am tho
and I will NEVER get tired of it

it doesn't matter how much you know, or don't know, about your system.
if it feels like you truly know absolutely nothing, i believe you. your experiences are real.
if you know a little, but there's a lot more you need to learn, i believe you. your experiences are real.
if you are *this* close to knowing more, but it keeps slipping from your fingers, i believe you. your experiences are real.
if you know every detail about yourself, i believe you. your experiences are real.
if you have no idea how much or how little you know - if this is all a confusing mess, i believe you. your experiences are real.
be patient. if you want to learn more, you will get there, i promise. for now, do your best to survive, because every day you live through is worth celebrating.

So introjection right. That thing where you internalize external things and they manifest as alters/traits/etc somehow. This isn't going to be about being treated like your source character.
This is about being treated as a source character.
We're pretty open about ourselves. We love talking about our experiences and what goes on in our head. We often draw ourselves and share it online because it makes us happy.
In the one public system space we hang out in, people have introjected us as alters from time to time. Which is OK I guess. We honestly don't mind that in particular. It happens. Especially with how we present ourselves publicly.
As long as you still remember we are real people with real feelings.
It's actually really really weird being referred to as a source. As something to be consumed. As something to take the bits and pieces of that you like. As something on the same level as a fictional character.
I know introjects of real people (aka factives) exist, but we're not a public figure or content creator. We're just some guy with DID and us as alters are a direct representative of that. We deal with some really rough shit actually and I don't Particularly enjoy that being taken in a light way.
One of us has a "stage name" for example. He doesn't use it normally. He hates using it unless he's actively going through it. It's a very direct metaphor for something that happened to us.
Seeing someone introject him, take that name and use it casually is very fucking uncomfortable actually!!
I guess like. If something like this happens, please talk to us about it. Please ask us directly where our boundaries lie. Ask the person in question if they are OK with you using the same profile picture, or name, or anything. I want people to communicate with us about that kind of stuff. So we don't have a major mutual freakout over it.
And... please, if someone is uncomfortable. Don't try to justify it with saying you can't control introjection and that it happens very easily for you. What happens in your head happens, but you can control how you respond to it. And deflecting someone else's discomfort with you taking their trauma responses isn't the way to go about it.
