2 years ago today, I made one of my best decisions ever and made this studyblr!
2 years, 7,143 posts and almost 18.5k of you amazing people later, I’m still here! When I made my blog I honestly did not expect to keep up with it for more than I month so it is so crazy to me that not only am I still here but I can’t imagine leaving!
Since I joined this community, I have completed my GCSEs, started sixth form, had six months (and counting) of online school during a worldwide global pandemic, have run four study challenges, and applied to university! I have also met some incredible people who I would consider my friends and inspire me everyday.
I don’t think there are enough words in the English language (or indeed any other language) to explain how grateful I am to this community and the people within it for giving me support, inspiration, and motivation and for being there for me when I feel depressed, anxious or exhausted.
This studyblr has helped me through so much and I can’t wait to see what happens next! I hope I will still be around for many amazing years to come!

Why I am starting this account or blog?!
Because last year, because of pandemic my studies affected a lot, as I could not focus or study properly. And, this community, helped me a lot in coping up and in studying ( and I'm really grateful for that).
So, I'm joining this community to motivate myself to study, to be a good student, to procrastinate less, to improve my grades ( and maybe, to motivate others and help them).

thank you (really).
hello to everyone in the studyblr community! now that we’re coming up on the last bits of 2020, i would like to just write a small thank-you note to everyone here that has shown me plenty of love and support.
i think i’ll be speaking for most of us when i say that 2020 has been a pretty rough year for a good majority of us. for me, its been tough year with more than its fair share of difficult periods. however, i believe this year has brought about little gems of happiness wedged between tough times. with your kind love and support, this small blog of mine has reached 20k followers.
i’ll always be appreciative of everyone’s support for what was originally just a place for me to vent about my studies. this community has become a place where i feel comfortable sharing my worries knowing that there is always going to be a group of people here for me.

I'm a first-year chemistry student
I'm from India

I want to be a research scientist in biochemistry
Interests
I joined tumblr for the fandom content because I watch a lot of television shows and movies. Science fiction is my favourite genre (Twitter - @vestigialorganx)
Reading. I spent lockdown reading the classics, but I want to read more fantasy. Some contemporary authors I like are Margaret Atwood, Neil Gaiman and Dan Brown.
I'm a theatre nerd and love being on stage.
Writing media analysis, stories and scripts.
Art - mostly landscapes. I use watercolour and pastels.
Music - I play the piano and just got a ukulele. I listen to show tunes, classic rock, jazz, classical, lofi, indie and alternative music.
Subjects
Chemistry in depth and Mathematics.
Why Studyblr?
2020 was a terrible year for me academically because of my anxiety and poor mental health.
I really enjoy learning, and maintaining a studyblr will help me with motivation and structure. (And show off my stationery collected and notes.) I hope I find a community here.

Wabi-Sabi Studyblr Challenge

Combination of two old words with overlapping definitions, wabi-sabi might be the Buddhist view of the facts of existence: Both life and art are beautiful not because they are perfect and eternal, but because they are imperfect and fleeting. (japanology, 2016)
Hello again! As the semester ends and I'm (finally) graduating college, and after seeing you all enjoy my last challenge, I was willing to create another one, a different one this time, cause I know times have been hard, we are facing new changes as we go back to "normal life" and honestly we all need a bit of relaxation.

wabi-sabi challenge is born out of this need to continuously question and improve the studyblr community, with the goal of visibilizing not only the pleasing aesthetics of it but the hard work and the struggles the students face while striving high to meet their goals.
This is a short challenge, so feel free to adapt it to your schedule, add it to another challenge, use it to post during your summer break, whatever fits you best.
I will be starting the challenge on June 7th, however, feel free to start, end, post, whenever it works best for you.

As stated before, the aim of the wabi-sabi challenge is to shine a light and normalize to an extent, that academic journeys are not just the great things we mostly post, that there are as many bad days as there are good days, that we must embrace the journey as something beautiful in all of its imperfection.
Also, as you may already know, this is an effort to provide a safe space for all, times are still hard and we need to keep going, one step at a time.

I always forget to take pictures of my progress and because of that I always have to put more than one day of the challenge in the same post ahahahah.
I have been working really hard during the last three days. I had two interviews to transcript for my internship and one of them took me 7 hours!!! Besides that, I had to study and revise for my test today, so today I just finished a little revision and now I am going to rest a little until the test. Hopefully I will have a good grade!

I know that it is hard seeing everyone having the results and entering their dream master's degrees while you still didn't even apply and are scared of the fact that there is a high chance of not entering because you want something outside of your area. And if that happens what are you gonna do? Without the possibility to continue studying? The truth is I don't know, there are days where I really want to cry with these worries and there are days like today that I know that what happens is going to happen and I will be able to adapt to it. Always remember that the chance of entering or not is the same as it was for the internship, which you were scared like hell because you thought that you would never be able to do one in a newspaper being a sociology student, but what are you doing now? It is true, you entered and maybe while applying someone else will think the same way again and give you the opportunity. Nothing is fixed, nothing is lost, the time will tell the results!
