I keep seeing posts abt transhet ppl being excluded by the "no straights at pride" jokes but never any abt hetace/aro ppl so!! If you're straight and ace or aro you fucking rule and ilu and happy pride.

Some little edits for @arospecfanworksweek day five "aro stereotypes." (Areotypes?) Some lean toward the stereotypes themselves while others are more about the trend of fighting against said sterotypes to the point of excluding aros who do fit them.
(Flags: bellusromantic, romance-averse, aroace, uniromantic, heartless aro, straight aro)

aromantic straight flags for anon! both use colors from the aro flag, the first alternates between colorful stripes and white stripes like the black/white straight flag, and the second uses colors from this straight flag!
flag id: two flags with 6 stripes. the left flag's stripes, in order, are black, white, green, white, faded yellow-green, and white. the right flag's stripes, in order, are green, faded yellow-green, white, soft orange, pinkish-red, and very dark blue. end id.
banner id: a 1500x150 teal banner with the words ‘please read my dni before interacting’ in large white text in the center. end id.

If your idea of queerness doesn't include any straight people whatsoever, then we should also stop including cis and allo people in queerness, too
Anyway, happy pride to transhets, straight aces, straight aros, and straight aroaces! You all are a wonderful part of the queer community! <3

v tired of coming out to ppl who are familiar and accepting of the aroace term, who then still turn around and say "yeah but you might still one day meet someone, right?" like I promise you most aspec ppl are aware it's an option, but it's still rude
I get you're trying to be supportive, but it still comes off as "don't worry, perhaps you're not really aroace/broken"

A character looks straight into the camera and says "I'm not interested in romance" and people will still say "No, it's not confirmed they're aromantic!!!" "They could change their mind!!!" "it's a challenge for them to overcome!!!" "They'll have character development that makes them fall in love"
It's like they are given the most blatant answer to a character romantic orientation and they actively ignore it. all the while all it takes is subtext for people to speak as if it is fact for a character to be any other sexuality.

This might be a hot take for some of the aphobes and whoever else, but I would much rather "let cishets into our safe spaces" than deprive a single queer kid of community on the basis of "what if"

New Years is just a few days away. So can we all, as a collective, stop saying things like "they HAVE to kiss" or "they HAVE to fuck at least once"? Because it's so annoying. No, they don't HAVE to do that. As an aroace it's so tiring hearing those phrases, not to mention invalidating as fuck. Aroaces aren't boring for not kissing or having sex, and it's not a MUST in a relationship, even if the couple is allo. And it's not just with fictional characters, it happens with real people too and it's creepy and invasive as shit
