Been thinking a bit more about Spider Madrigals.

I’m no Spiderman expert, so does anybody have recs for a good Spiderman villain? Don’t want to repeat Into the Spiderverse with Kingpin.

The endgame would be for Mirabel, Camilo, Isabela, Luisa, and Dolores to battle whoever the main villain of the idea is together.

Might have to be a group.

Spider-Mirabel: Across the Spider Verse

One year after becoming the Spider-Gal, and teaching Antonio about his powers, Mirabel Madrigal is launched across the multiverse on a grand adventure of a lifetime.

On her journey, Mirabel meets dozens of alternate versions of Spider heroes, even members of her family.

The Webslinger/Camilo Madrigal

An alternate version of Mirabel's theater-loving cousin who was bitten by a radioactive spider.

Spider-Lady/Isabela Madrigal

An alternate version of Mirabel's older sister, who holds the mantle of a Spider-Madrigal.

Spider-Woman/Luisa Madrigal

The multiversal doppelgänger of Mirabel's other sister; The Invincible Spider-Woman.

Scarlet Spider/Dolores Madrigal

A Spider-Madrigal who had the ability to sense and hear danger from over a mile away.

A talented young artist with long, indestructible hair. While using her hair to protect people, Rapunzel also tried to uncover the origin of her magic hair.

The Arachnid Archer/Merida DunBroch

A trained athlete that is known as the greatest archer in the city of DunBroch. With her bow and arrow, Merida dedicated herself to protecting her city, and her family.

Frost Spider/Jack Frost

A young hockey player with a past that he cannot remember. His heroics caused Jack to be offered a role in a team of heroes called ‘The Guardians.’

Thanks, anon 😭 (omg, the pressure! 😬) I had Tom Holland’s Peter/Spider-Man in mind for this. But man, I need to watch Into the Spider-Verse again.

This turned out longer than three sentences; I don’t know how...

...

As Spider-Man, Peter Parker has seen magic before, and probably knows what to say to the group of people standing before him.

"Hi, I’m Peter. So, you’re, like, superheroes too? Friendly neighborhood... magical family?" His voice trails off a bit as he watches the doors behind the family flap, seemingly of their own volition. “Whoa, cool house.”

The stocky man and the boy who might be about Peter’s age exchange skeptical glances, while the elderly woman steps forward, clearing her throat and staring Peter down. In her eyes, he must appear like a total weirdo, a teenage boy wearing a strange skin-tight outfit with some kind of... spider motif. At least his face is visible.

“Somos los Madrigal. ¿Quién es?”

“Oh, boy,” Peter breathes. He’d made an assumption. “Right. Spanish. Time to make Señora Torres proud.”

He proceeds to search his memory for the word for neighborhood. As he does, the girl with dark curly hair and big green glasses steps forward. She takes the elderly woman’s arm and whispers to her. It’s much too fast for him to follow, but he thinks he hears “Casita.”

The old woman looks vulnerable and austere at the same time as she sighs and inclines her head toward the girl, who waves at Peter to get his attention.

“Este... ¿Habla español?”

“Um,” Peter replies. “Sí? Pero. No hablo español, er, muy bien.” He pauses. Introductions are still in order. “Also, hola, me llamo Peter.”

The girl smiles despite his bumbling. Some of the other members of her family have begun to smile too: the woman in a teal dress who bears a strong resemblance to her, the youngest child with a toucan perched on his shoulder. A couple of them, like the small, tired-looking man in a green poncho, who’s hovering near the boy with the toucan, are regarding him with quite anxious, yet steady, expressions.

“Soy Mirabel,” the girl is saying. A quick pucker of her lips indicates the constellation of people around her. “Mi familia, los Madrigal. Y... el Encanto.” She spreads her arms wide.

“Peter,” Mirabel continues, a bit shyly, with a glance at the elderly woman and the subtly nodding woman in the teal dress. “¿Tiene... hambre?” Above her, the house’s shingles bounce (Ohh, ‘Casita,’ Peter realizes).

“Sure— Uh, bien. I mean, sí. Gracias.” If he ever gets home, at least he’ll be able to assure Aunt May that he was a polite guest.

“Venga, Peter,” the woman in teal says.

With that, he starts to follow this magical family, the Madrigals, into their magical house.

...

I also could’ve written it like, Bruno had a vision of Spider-Man’s arrival 🤔 Ah well. Also: Modern AU? Spider-Man time-travel? Who knows!

Encanto Spider-Man AU! Mirabel gets bitten by a spider and gains spider powers. She becomes a hero after the death of her abuelo or abuela shakes her extended family to the core.

I'd say Pedro, it's always poor Pedro 😅

Mirabel designing her own costume! Desperately trying to keep it from Dolores in particular, because she knows Dolores won't last 5 minutes before blurting it out. Maybe even saving Abuela at one point!

However, the family definitely starts to figure things out. Maybe Antonio and/or Bruno first, then Camilo, then her sisters and so on.

Abuela is for sure the last to know. The irony being, Alma has been singing "Spider-Girl's" praises all this time 😶

"you're never more than 6ft away from a rat" factoid actualy just statistical error. average person near 0 rats within 6ft. Rats Bruno, who lived in the walls with over 100 rats for ten years, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

This reminds me of an early idea I had for Spider Bruno. In his dimension, the grandkids are still young children when Bruno reunites with his family after the multiverse events.

So Bruno gets to be the best uncle and be part of everyone’s lives growing up.

There’s the fluff, now here’s the angst.

I may or may not do this but… what if Mirabel becomes a canon event for Spider Bruno?
