this may sound weird, but lately i've been thinking of aventurine turning in a cat. like, for some strange reason (maybe during a mission), he turned in a cute little cat. and since reader doesn't know he's a cat, he feels free to enjoy all reader's affection, and maybe to let his emotions win and cry while being caressed. and then he turns human and he's crying enough to fill a swimming pool. idk if i explained well :(

Aventurine

Listen, he's always on alert okay. This man rarely allows himself to relax, especially when he's on another one of his business trips.

And he knows what to expect. Lies, attempts on his life, threats etc. He has seen it all.

But this. This. This is something new. Of course anything can happen when you're dealing with The Masked fools but this? Being turned into a cat? In what place this is even funny? It is kinda funny tho just not for Aven

He knows better than to panic. Yes, being turned into a tiny orange cat was not a part of his plans. Yes, this is probably the most defenseless and vulnerable state he's been in since his childhood. Yes, this sucks. But hey not like panicking will change anything.

Instead he just sits in the corner, feeling incredibly anxious and dreadful. His only hope is that this shapeshifting trick won't last for long.

A huge wave of relief washes over him when he sees a familiar person. And not just any person but you. The only person who can put his restless mind at ease, at least for a short time. He wouldn't mind seeing Topaz or Ratio too but it's much better when it's you.

He quickly realizes, however, that his joy was premature. He can't communicate with you! And you don't know that this is him! So the only thing poor Aven can do is follow you around and... meow. It's almost humiliating. Too bad he doesn't have time to care.

Soon enough you give up at finally pick up the oddly familiar cat. Every time you try to put the cat down it starts meowing and running after you so the only thing you can do is pick it up and carry around like a potato.

And you know how it is with cats, once you put your hands on one you can't stop petting it. You run your fingers through the cat's fur absently, while checking you phone for any messages from Aventurine. Hugging the cat, pressing your face to it's soft fur. Something about it surely reminds you of Aven. The thought, no matter how childish it is, brings a small smile on your face.

And poor, poor Aven. For so long he's been longing for your touch while laying awake at night, his poor heart flattered every time your fingers brushed against his. He wants wants wants to melt into your embrace yet this is not allowed for him.

How can he ask for it without exposing the deepest and darkest parts of his soul. How can he open his heart to you without reveling all the ugly, fragile parts.

He wants to be open with you, he really does. Yet it's so unreasonably hard. Would you kiss his head like you do now if you would know how empty he is inside? Would he be able to press his forehead into you palm, asking for more more more without feeling exposed?

In a way, it's good that right now he's in this form. He doesn't really have to think about anything, doesn't have to feel anxious about revealing too much. He can just enjoy in.

You two fall asleep just like that and he doesn't have to overthink, he can just crawl to you side, nuzzling up to you.

You can't help but notice that the kitten in your arms is trembling slightly. And when you pull it closer in order to provide some warmth and comfort it just purrs and meows pitifully. Almost like it's… crying.

Now listen. I'm 100% sure Aven is a light sleeper. So there's no way he won't wake up from a loud gasp and a lot of movements near him.

Well. Seems like the shapeshifting trick the masked fool pulled on him lasted only for 12 hours. And now he lays on the couch in his human form while you look at him with the wide eyes.

Awkward.

His initial reaction is to laugh it off. "Surprised, dear? It's a shame you can't see your own face right now ha ha". Would explain the whole situation, trying to make it seem like it was not a big deal. No mention of you cuddling session tho. Max he would say is "my, my, didn't know you where such a cat person".

However, his smile freezes immediately when you wrap your arms around him, pulling him into a hug. Well. Here goes all of his feigned confidence.

Here is this feeling again. Your warmth, you scent, the comfort your touch brings. You telling how you started to get worried and how relieved you are that he didn't get hurt. It cuts so deep, makes him feel so exposed yet so needed. Loved even.

At first he doesn't even get it why your eyes get even wider, why a look so lost and worried all of the sudden. Only when your hands hesitantly cup his cheeks and you ask him what's wrong he realizes that there are tears in his eyes.

You know those tears when they just drop from your eyes and it's not like you're hysterical or crying uncontrollably but the tears just keep coming and coming and the more you try to calm down , the worse it gets? Yeah, him.

Would almost automatically tell you that everything is fine. When you confront him, pointing out that he's literally crying, will get even more confused than you. "Hah, seems like you're right, dear" he says with a small smile, giving up on the idea of hiding it from you. After all, it's too late for that anyway.

It feels... not even humiliating, no. It's weird, scary even, to be so open around someone. To be stripped of his mask so suddenly.

And yet he doesn't have time to care when your hands hold him oh so tenderly, when you cup his face and ask him what's wrong.

"Nothing, nothing, really. Just getting a bit sentimental here. Just... hold me like that for a bit more, 'kay?" he manages to whisper with a faint smile before pressing his face in the crook of your neck.

God feeling his tears on your skin feels so surreal. And heartbreaking too.

With each tender touch he gets even more emotional, to the point when he literally chokes on his own tears. Please hold him, run your fingers through his hair, kiss the top of his head.

He just doesn't get it, it feels so good to be held by you, why does his stupid heart hurts so much then?

Honestly he didn't cry for so long and there are so many repressed feelings, just let him let it all out.

He'll probably fall asleep in your arms, feeling very exhausted after the sudden emotional outburst. In the morning would act like nothing has happened, making some dismissing comments about him being a bit overdramatic last night. Don't let him withdraw into himself but don't push him to open up too much as well.

Just touch him more often from now on, especially when he looks like he had a bad day. And eventually he'll turn into your lap cat, reaching out for your warmth himself with or without reason.

"You're being clingy again" "Am not <З" all while sitting on your lap.

"anton u can hug me, it's only my foot that's injured :|" omg omg when ur NEEDY, you love ur boyfriend and all but it's like he's TOO gentle for his own good. "i don't want to hurt you though...." while he rubs your arm softly while he looks into your eyes with warmth and worry. he only agreed to touch you after you gave him your best puppy eyes and were on the verge of tears from being frustrated. "i promise you won't break me, pleaseee?" he stays silent for a seconds before sighing and giving you a reassuring kiss on the lips. "fine. 🙄 your foot can't get even more broken than it is anyways..." he teases you before finally giving you what you want, but you can only get his fingers!! and he makes sure your injured foot is elevated on a stack of pillows the WHOLE TIME LOL in the end, thanks to anton and his methods you made a speedy recovery!

Expectation

There'll be plenty of pretty girls for him to flirt with! And more importantly, one VERY pretty person that he's gonna flirt with the most.

Hopefully, this time, he won't put one foot in the water and immediately shriek about how freezing it is.

He'll spend as much time with you as he does with his friends! Plus, now you can be closer to them! Hooray!

Maybe he'll get a little bit of a workout. He's not a big swimmer, but he'll try his hardest, just to impress you.

Reality

He'll spend a little too much time trying to get Kiku to get out of his shell. If you suggest that maybe he just doesn't want to... Feliciano is taking it as a personal challenge.

He doesn't get a lot of swimming done. Just enough to balance out the ice cream he got for the two of you.

He ends up teasing Ludwig a lot about how girls are staring at him-

Everyone will enjoy his homecooked snacks and NOT spend money unnecessarily on some overpriced trash-

He'll only have to remind you and everyone else to put on sunscreen once, and will actually do so when he tells them to.

Feliciano will not hit his head on the bottom of the pool diving again, and if he does, Ludwig will not be the one who has to drive him to the doctor. Again.

Nothing will go wrong. Okay, something will go wrong, but it'll be something minor... please...

Reality

All of his friends constantly interrupt the two of you and drag you off to do something stupid

He was so careful! But... he still got sunburned on his back.

Halfway through the trip, he's done swimming because he's tired of Romano splashing him in the face when he's trying to get some ACTUAL EXCERCISE-

One of the lifeguards is a stupid teenager and of course, Ludwig is the one who ends up saving some poor kid. (He did not have to volunteer! But you know, “If I didn't, who would?”)

Everyone stares because god lord that man is shredded to hell and back.

( Someone tries hitting on him and he's so uncomfortable he pretends he doesn't speak English and runs away)

He still has a lovely time, because you're around, and that's all he needs to be happy.

Japan

Expectation

No one will talk to him. No one will look at him. It will not be too hot and he won't have to swim. Please. Please do not make him swim.

Actually, you can talk to and look at him. Maybe Ludwig can. But only that.

Hopefully, he won't be forced to eat terrible beach food. He packed a sandwich. That's enough, right?

All he wants is to sit in the shade with you and read quietly, away from all the noise and heat of the beachfront.

Reality

Feliciano is gonna drag him in the water, and he'll trip. And fall. Into the water. And he'll be all wet for the rest of the day. And he'll hate it. So much.

Barely gets to read his book for multiple reasons.

Halfway through the trip, he's completely wiped out from the heat. You'll probably have to help with sunscreen, too.

Anytime any of you bring him down to the water, he tries to bring up a bunch of random facts to get you to stop.

(”Don't you know there's jellyfish in this country? I do not want to get stung!“ ”THIS IS A LAKE!“)

Kiku is much more suited for an arcade than a beach. He's too much of an old man for it. He's glad you're having fun, though.

Romano

Expectation

You'll pass out from how hot he is

He WON'T give in and eat any of the disgusting, insulting beach food.

He'll be able to completely ignore everyone but you, including the stupid, loud Germans!

The heat won't bother him. He's a Mediterranean country for god's sake, he's used to it being hot!

Hopefully, and he really prayed for this, he'll get a nice tan and not more sunburnt.

Feliciano won't interrupt his peace and relaxation. And if he does, he won't run away as Romano tries to smack him with a rolled-up magazine.

Reality

He ends up getting super insecure about his body in comparison to everyone else (Cough, cough, Ludwig and Gilbert,) and you'll have to coax him to not constantly wear his towel.

Any time not spent bothering others is spent with you while relaxing in a pool floatie.

He's so unused to exercise that he gets hungry and tired almost immediately.

He tries his best to ignore the other beachgoers in favour of you, but he can't stop getting annoyed by everyone else OR subtly flirting with others.

(He's just in a bad mood, he doesn't mean any of it.)

As soon as he sees you, he can't help staring. He just thinks you're so stunning when you're wearing so little...

Prussia

Expectation

He's gonna get so sunburnt that he's in pain for weeks.

You and him are gonna race in the water, and he's gonna WIN!

He'll finally get to show off his rockin' bod without being seen as a douchebag.

Plus, he'll get to see your body too. Even better.

(I'm telling you now, if your stomach spills out of your swimsuit, he's gonna get so attracted to you, he'll get dizzy and have to sit down.)

When (If) girls stare at him for being so hot, he'll get to show off that he's dating YOU, which in his opinion, you're even hotter than him. Then they'll get jealous and stop looking at him! (Not how that works, but whatever.)

Reality

He's gonna get so sunburnt that he's in pain for weeks. This is inevitable.

Gilbert will quickly become pretty bored just swimming, so you and him will build a nice big sand castle (He insists on making one replicating a castle he used to live in.)

He'll sneak up behind Ludwig and grab his ankles, swimming away before he can see him. Just for fun.

He's gonna ask you if you're drowning. Regardless of what you say, he's picking you up bridal style and carrying you out of the water. Just because he thinks it'd be hot. (”I'm saving you, Liebling! I take kisses in payment-“)

Romano will hate it, but Gilbert definitely will try to force him down a slide if there are any.

I do have an idea of Alastor taking Vox pet shopping, because Vox mentioned having a dog when he was alive and missing having a companion

Alastor agrees to get him a pet, as long as it ISN'T a dog

Vox cannot believe THIS is the one line Alastor won't cross, not even using his most adorable digital face changed his mind - but Vox still wants a pet, so he agrees. No dogs.

(They haven't been together long enough for Vox to LEARN why no dogs was such a big deal, here - I kind of think that's something Alastor doesn’t talk about until they've been together for like 10-20 years).

So! They go to a pet store, and Vox immediately wants the giant dog-like shark.

(Alastor tries to say no, but Vox is like "C'mon it's not a dog!!! *insert cute anime eyes before that was even a concept* so Alastor relents).

And the poor shop employee is like, trying to figure out how to tell the fucking Radio Demon and the guy who's starting to take over all the media that they probably don't have the ability to care for the shark-dog thing. (Think, stressed PetSmart employee trying to go "No, a baby bunny isn't a good gift for Easter" except to a serial killer actively covered in blood, here. That's the visual I'm thinking of).

[side note: why do I punish poor minimum wage employees constantly, I promise I have also worked a minimum wage job working for the general public, lol]

But when the employee explains that the shark-dog thing needs a large body of water (probably ocean) to swim in often, Alastor is just like "Oh I can summon that, easily. I'll add it to the guest bedroom since Vox no longer uses it." And Vox is like, what do you MEAN that's something you can do?? You can't just drop casual lore like that at the pet store!

Alastor is like "?? Darling, what do you mean? I have a bayou in my room in the closet? A little beach isn't any more difficult."

And it turns out that when Vox moved in, Alastor told him not to go in that closet. Alastor meant it in a "don't go in there without me, because wandering in a bayou could be dangerous if you don't know where you are/how to do so safely" kind of way.

Vox, however, took it in a Bluebeard kind of way and was like, "Easy, I'm not having him murder me, so he'll be stuck with me forever. Win/win scenario, I solved the fairytale" and just assumed he DID because they're dating now.

And Alastor is left staring with the most confused smile on his face, trying to come to terms with the fact that Vox just casually accepted that he was living in a Bluebeard-like scenario, and his response was to play by the rules so he can stay with Alastor.

(They get the shark-dog. Vox names it Vark. Alastor immediately takes away his "allowed to name new things" privilege, but it's too late. It only responds to Vark).

Rarely, if ever, would he have to worry about you not eating, since he always cooks for you

If he wakes up before you do, he's got breakfast made, as well as a lunch packed for you to take to work

Just wants to take care of his baby, even if he can't physically be there

How do you think things might have gone if Sun was the one trapped in the net?

hmm, i know we haven't seen it in the fic yet but i actually picture Sun being more vicious than Moon when frightened or angry. however, he's also quicker to trust and calm down...

so, i think the combination of hunger, the dark, and the cold would have driven Sun to lash out immediately upon meeting Y/N. he'd hiss, thrash, throw rocks, and tear at the water the instant they made any moves, and they would keep their distance as they did with Moon. Sun would quickly realise that Y/N is helping them and that their wariness towards him is slowing them down, so he'd dial back the the aggression. he'd pantomime harmlessness, tucking his hands behind his back, making himself small, chirping at them. it wouldn't really work as the first impression would be hard to shake off, but it would make Y/N's job easier. and they would interpret the extent of Sun's intelligence faster than they did with Moon.

Sun wouldn't like the raw fish Y/N brought them, but as he rarely ventures outside his home and its readily-available supplies, he'd be more susceptible to hunger. he'd grimace and try to be grateful, gingerly nibbling it and trying not to spit. then he'd offer some to Y/N as a peace offering.

Sun routinely speaks in a mix of merspeak and ancient English, unlike Moon who favoured merspeak until he met Y/N. Sun would definitely speak to Y/N at some point, who would immediately flip their lid in excitement but be unable to respond underwater. nevertheless, Sun would grasp that they understood him and be equally as thrilled. he'd ask them a bazillion things and ultimately settle for just rambling at them or sticking to yes/no questions. after the initial excitement, Y/N would wryly decide that this friendly mermaid is a huge drain on their social battery lol

Sun would get super emotional. this alien thing with two tails didn't retaliate when he lashed out at them even though he's trapped and at their mercy! not only that, they're bringing him food (raw, but still), working to free him, and engaging while he talks to them. they even attempt to comfort him when he sadly mentions how frightened he was, how Moon must be going frantic looking for him, how the net hurts. they make muffled noises of sympathy and gently pat him with the longest tool they have.

for all their reckless actions, Y/N is pretty cautious at heart. they'd follow through on their plan to keep Sun's wrist restrained until the last second, handing him the knife and preparing to flee. Sun would realise their plan and gaze at them pleadingly, the knife sagging in his hand. he'd ask them not to run, please, he wants to be friends. it's been so long since he's met someone new, and he must repay them for rescuing him. Moon would love to meet them too!

Sun wouldn't pull the same lure-and-grab trick as Moon, but he would be intensely curious... and desperate for comforting contact. he would try to grasp Y/N's braids, examine their work tools, beckon them closer. he'd say he won't hurt them, he only wants to get a better look, please please please! originally Y/N intended to work their way towards getting closer to Moon so they could snip the worst of the netting, but him pinning them to the floor and ripping apart their bladed pole skewed that strategy. i think Y/N would drop their guard faster with Sun, even though he's clearly very grabby and a little rough. he might cut them accidentally with his claws, but ultimately he'd learn his lesson and take more care.

Sun isn't familiar with the dark waters, so i think he'd fail to grab Y/N when the rumble came. they'd be battered by rocks and injured, but not much more than they were with Moon. they would feel touched by Sun's fluttering panic over their injuries.

Y/N would hesitate, point at the knife and the net, and then beckon him to follow before swimming away.

when a newly-freed Sun surfaces, Y/N would call him from the platform at a safe distance. they'd be able to talk and introduce themselves properly, and Y/N would explain that he doesn't owe them anything because the net belongs to their team, so it's their fault he was trapped in the first place. they would apologise, and Sun would feel somewhat admiring with a healthy dose of 'wtf no that doesn't make it their fault?? are they always like this?' (yes)

i don't remember if i've mentioned this before, but Moon was trapped in the first place because a rumble came along, blasted him down some tunnels while he was exploring near the facility territory, and the lost net was also caught by the current and tangled around him. it snagged on the rocks in the cave where Y/N found him, securing him in place. so the day Y/N freed Moon and left him outside the building, he then had to find his way back home alone🥺

i don't think Sun would be so independent after a stint of being trapped and slowly starving. he'd cling to Y/N and ask them for help to find his way home, and live in the facility territory in the meantime. when they did eventually locate and escort Sun home, they would have formed a bond, with an intense crush on Sun's end. he'd be very eager to offer them hospitality and introduce them to his Moon, oh he's going to love them! a lot :)

they would then be met by a very frantic and disheveled Moon, who is only holding off on grieving Sun because he can't bear to think that he's gone. i think he would be quick to blame Y/N for Sun's absence, and would direct a lot of territorial aggression their way even while he's checking Sun over and clutching him close. but dw, that would be short-lived as Sun explains how Y/N saved him and provided food and shelter until they could escort him home. Moon would still be suspicious for sure, but Y/N's fidgeting excitement to explore the warm environment and open guilt over Sun being trapped would quickly overpower that. and soon he'd get to know them better and grow closer just like Sun is doing now🥰

Maybe something to do with him finding out about her devil fruit because she doesn't like people knowing about it.

(My character's story is that she was forced to eat the devil fruit because her parents hated that she loved spending time in the water and swimming with her mermaid friend, so they wanted to take away the one thing she loved. Her parents are aholes if you couldn't tell lol)

"For the last time, no." You inch away from where Penguin'd been leaning over you, making grabby hands at the canteen looped over your shoulders. "If you're that thirsty, find somewhere to get your own."

"Rude," he huffs. "Not like Captain'll let us stay long enough to actually relax."

"Should've thought of that when picking a career choice," Law answers. "Not exactly smart to stick around anywhere when your face is on a Wanted poster."

Penguin wilts before he starts his pleading anew by slinging his arm around Law's shoulders. "Come on, Captain. It's been forever since we've been allowed fool around."

"Get off me," Law snaps, "and stop playing around. We're not on a vacation, damn it."

"Just give in," you intone, "you know he'll just get the others to pester until you do."

Penguin grins, and Law scowls. "Don't encourage that behavior," he tells you before he pinches the bridge of his nose. "Fine. But I better not regret this."

"This is your fault, you know." Shoulders slumped, Law watches the scene unfolding just a few feet away with a look somewhere between embarrassment and annoyance.

"Don't be such a grouch. They deserve to remember don't have to be so serious all the time." You take a sip of your drink and peek at Law, who's sitting beside you. "You could learn to do that too."

Law looks away, even as his knee bumps against yours. "I'd rather not."

You shrug. "Suit yourself." Glancing at him, you can tell that he's far from thrilled to be here, from the set of his jaw to the tension in his shoulders, gaze sharp beneath the brim of his hat. "We can leave if you want to."

"I doubt they're ready to," he says, dipping his head at the tableful of crewmates who are engrossed in whatever party trick Clione is trying to attempt.

You slide off your seat. "I can come collect them later, or they'll find their way back on their own."

Law debates for a moment before he follows you, aware of the eyes that follow your departure. Outside, he quickly falls into step beside you. "We're being followed."

"I'm aware," you answer, listening to the additional set of footsteps. Reaching down, you work the the cap of your canteen open as discreetly as you can.

Law listens as the foosteps quicken, hand moving to use room, but you beat him to it. Pivoting on your heel, your hands come up, and all Law sees is the barest hint of blue before the footsteps stop.

Turning, his eyes widen a fraction at the sphere of water encompassing the man's head, bubbles spilling from the corners of his mouth as he struggles, trying to claw at the water.

"I wouldn't if I were you," you say, tone level despite the fact that you're casually drowning someone, a pale blue glimmer to your hands that Law realizes belatedly is also water.

You wait until the man's eyes roll back and his arms drop before you bring your hands down, guiding the stream of water back into your canteen before you approach the collapsed stranger.

"He's still breathing," you report before you rummage around, producing a crumpled wanted poster with Law's face on it. "Bounty hunter, maybe. Not a very good one, though."

There's the melt of your hand into water, quickly turning the paper soggy and illegible before turning towards Law, who's staring at you.

"You never told me you'd eaten a devil fruit."

"It never came up," you say, and when his eyes narrow, you look away. "It's not something I'm comfortable talking about. Figured the less anyone knew, the better off I was."

"That's understandable," Law says, "but I don't appreciate being left in the dark, especially about my own crew." He takes in the slump of your shoulders, expression easing a fraction. "I won't tell anyone, if that's what you're worried about. But from now on, I want you to be honest with me. Got it?"

You nod. "Got it."

"Good." He gives you a small, barely there smile. "Now lets go get our crewmates before they get us into more trouble."

- to set the scene -

You preferred not to make a big deal of your dietary preferences. Vampires are a common occurrence in Vesuvia - it's one of the main trading centers of the world, after all - but there are still a few misconceptions about the blood drinking part that you prefer not to deal with. No, you don't exclusively drink human blood. Yes, you can eat normal food. Do you still need blood? Yes, it supplements the magic in you the way meat supplements proteins and vegetables supplement vitamins. It's just an extra part of a well-balanced diet.

Normally you just request that the butcher not drain the meat of its blood when you place an order with her. But recently your beloved has been handling all of that for you, and while you can manage going several months without it if you use your magic sparingly, it's been a demanding several weeks. So the two of you are taking the afternoon for a picnic lunch and hike.

Unfortunately, the food attracts some rather aggressive hyenas, and you're reflexively using the last of your magic to whisk them away before you can think. You see your beloved turning to you in concern just as your vision swims to black.

"MC? What's wrong?!"

He's panicking. Yes, he's a doctor, but as a doctor, there's no reason he can think of as to why you just collapsed!

Not to mention that he's never been out here before, and he's better suited to fighting with his words than with his fists

Once you wake up and explain to him what's going on, his mood shifts completely

He's worked with a vampire or two. He's never given blood before, but it won't be the first time he's requested that you bite him

You're a little surprised at how calm he seems about your big reveal. You'd expected a little more of a reaction

Until you move to take his wrist and he directs you to his neck instead and you get a glance at the anticipation pooling in his eyes

You're wondering why you didn't see this coming, but here you are, feeding off his clavicle while you feed into both his pain and savior complex

You've never seen him worked up quite like this before. He would never make you uncomfortable about your species but now he's requesting that you come to him every time you need your dietary fix

He is your dedicated doctor, after all

They've had a working theory ever since they noticed your preference for dishes cooked with blood and the effect they would have on your aura

But you never said anything, and he avoids violating your privacy like the plague

Now you're telling them, and explaining that you normally substitute with the blood of whatever you got at the butcher

And he's not stupid, he can put the pieces together and realize it's his fault for not getting your regular order

They're apologizing and offering you some of their own blood to get you up on your feet. They're a powerful magician, it'll give you the boost you need

"It's not like everything I have isn't already yours, MC. We already share a heart, I think we can stand to share a little blood."

He'll cradle you in his lap and wrap his arms around you, pull your head to his collarbone and snuggle and talk to you while you drink

Somehow they're turning it into one the most magical, emotionally intimate moments you've ever shared with them

Hesitant to heal the little bite marks, he's too sentimental and thinks they're cute

Nadia

Regardless of the situation, you will never complain about waking up with your head in her lap and her fingers in your hair

That said, she's very worried about you

She's patient while you explain, asking a few clarifying questions here and there, but she's not very surprised or disturbed

She is, however, racked with guilt. She should have asked about your dietary preferences! How many other times have you come close to starving from her negligence?

Insists on giving you some of her own blood. It's the least she can do to begin to fix this

She'll maneuver you to feed from the inside of her elbow. You're a little hesitant because it feels kind of sacrilegious to bite into something so perfect and cause her pain

Until she notices your turmoil and takes advantage of your bent head to press kisses down the back of your neck

She'll croon encouragement in your ear and massage the muscles along your spine to help you relax while you drink

It satisfies her need to provide for you like nothing else does so she will offer herself as a future emergency resource

Muriel

He doesn't watch what you eat that carefully. He's freakishly observant, he knows you're not human, but he never connected the dots to "vampire"

So he is a little surprised when you tell him

He doesn't want to come across as insensitive, but now he is a little invested in what steps you take to source your blood ethically

He just needs to know if you've been puncturing his chickens or not

Very relieved to learn the truth and a little embarrassed for not picking up on why you always drain and save the blood from the cuts of meat you bring from the butcher

Doesn't think twice about offering you his arm. He's not playing a blame game, he just loves you and wants to see you healthy

He's not at all afraid of a little bite, but he'll still have to reassure you once or twice. You just hate the thought of making him bleed

He doesn't want you to feel uncomfortable but he's a bundle of awkward himself, so he'll alternate between rubbing your back and brushing your hair out of your face

Is very conscientious about keeping blood stocked in the hut from now on

Portia

You open your eyes to her squeezing you in a death grip and yelling obscenities after the retreating beasts that attacked you

Very, very worried. You're one of the strongest people she knows and you just collapsed!

Absolutely enthralled by your explanation. Hell yeah, she bagged a vampire! She has read so many novels about this

She's also read all kinds of questionable blood drinking scenes. It's hard to explain that you aren't up for any kinky business while you're this lightheaded

She's a little disappointed that there aren't any altars or ceremonial daggers or full moons involved, but she's still on board

And very curious. Will ask you what the best spot for you to drink from is that will let her see what's happening

You end up drinking from her ankle while she brainstorms food ideas that incorporate blood. No vampire goes hungry under her roof

A little disappointed that this doesn't turn her into a vampire too, but it's okay

Will regularly bring novels from the palace library to compare fact with fiction

Lucio

"MC, are you okay? Of course you're okay, you're MC! Tell me you're okay!"

The slowest to believe you when you explain what's happening. There's no way his lover was a vampire all this time without him noticing. You would have offered him immortality by now if you were

Low key offended when you tell him that's not how that works

As soon as he realizes drinking his blood will help you, he's straddling your lap and pressing your face to his neck, demanding that you bite down as hard as you want to

You can feel him trembling a little and you're worried it's all forced bravado, until you see the full body blush he's sporting and recognize that it's excitement instead

Insists you bite him on his neck where he can show it off

Will cling to you like a koala the whole time. Its hard to tell if he's in any pain or if he's playing up his reactions for the drama of it

Disappointed when you're done: "are you sure you're full? You can keep going, I don't mind. Anything for my MC."

Convinced that you only deserve the best quality blood and should only feed from him

and if you're in cove's car after a dinner date, and baxter just happens to walk out of his condo where he can see you stretched over the middle console, tangling your fingers in cove's hair and kissing within an inch of your lives...

and if you're coming back from a trip at the beach that was getting much too steamy with your hand dipping under the leg of cove's swim shorts, and run into baxter on the way back

you won't easily admit that it brings you too much happiness to see cove fidgeting, itching to get away so he can be alone with you, and how baxter's eyes widen a bit at the blooming marks on cove's skin

if you can put the grudge aside enough to hang out with baxter during the "sightseeing" moment, then of course the topic of dating and crushes comes up

baxter smiles when you say that cove has only ever been with you, and vice versa.

of course you note the melancholy look on his face, and you feel like he's being sarcastic. or at least half-hearted in his well wishes

maybe the look on your face is a bit too much on the sour side, but you don't worry about that. "cove and i will certainly spend the rest of our lives together. our souls are intertwined after all."

your smile is a bit sickly sweet, but you move on anyway

I wanna talk a bit abt cove though...

yk how in step 2, if you punch/scare/cuss at jeremy, cove admits that he likes it?

I think he knows and sees how jealous, how possessive you are and feeds into it sometimes

it makes his heart beat (and even turns him on) that you're claiming him in any way

he sees how you pull him into your lap, or how you hold onto his arm, or how you kiss him even more when in front of baxter

he knows that when you ran into baxter, you find too much pleasure in how he squirms. and when you finally get back to his room for a little privacy, you're almost feral with how you touch and kiss him

he sees the way you leer and smirk when baxter walks by you two, and cove flushes because even though he's embarrassed bc baxter definitely saw you making out, he's also a bit... excited by it

it doesn't make sense, and it embarrasses him more just thinking abt it, but it just makes him feel so warm and tingly when you act like this that it overrides his shame <33

So, I spent a lot of time doing research about jellyfish for this one. Apparently, there's a species of Octopus that eats jellyfish? Crystal Jellyfish reader better not piss off Azul...

So, first, for the basic facts

You grew up with the Tweels and Azul in the coral sea (Crystal jellies, Moray eels, and some octopuses are pelagic, so it makes sense)

You don't swim very fast, so you would often skip phys ed in elementary and middle school

You started dating him at the end of your second year at NRC

Unlike the boys, I feel like you'd be assigned to Pomfiore - Crystal Jellie's are beautiful and have toxic stings

You do still stay at the school throughout the winter holiday

When you started attending NRC, all of you found out that you can sense when people have cancer! The staff had to spend around an hour just to explain to you why you can't just walk up to them and tell them though....

Azul

You went to school with the boys

At first? You were terrified of Azul

Some types of Octopus eat jellyfish!

But you got over that when you realized he was bullied too

So, growing up, you two built a close bond - you, because of the bullying for your body proportions, and him for his weight

You would both skip phys ed together, complain about other students, everything!

You were 100% his biggest supporter when he started using his unique magic to get back at bullies

Because of this, once you two both went to NRC, you stuck together as close as can be

You're the only person who he helps for free (Yay!)

Neither of you are good at flying class

But that's okay, he'll just make a deal with someone who is

Also, your job in the Mostro Lounge is generally to use your Unique Magic - Concealed Fulmination (Turns you invisible and shock people) - in order to whisper in people's ears in why they should make a deal with Azul

You tend to stay away from Floyd, he finds it interesting that you can't feel pain (Azul, meanwhile, is panicking internally - can he just keep you in an aquarium to keep you safe and protected?)

You were also terrorized by Floyd growing up if Jade wasn't there to stop him

He did mellow out once you two went to NRC - after all, he had new prey

You often got sat with him in class

You were ready to strangle him half of the time and actually did try once

That was the day he actually took notice of you and your natural talent for squeezing

He makes it his life's (Or moods?) goal to end up with you

Once you two do start dating, Floyd would absolutely love that you don't have pain receptors!

He could squeeze you as much as he wants and you won't complain!

At least, until he accidentally breaks your arm - oopsies

After that, he tends to be a little more careful with you - not enough really that other students will notice, but just enough that there aren't any more incidents of him injuring you

Floyd gets you into all kinds of trouble when he's in the mood

If he's in a bad mood, though? Azul throws you at him and runs

"You deal with it! You're his friend!"

"So? You're his partner!"

He's entertained by how skittish you used to be around Azul

He scares you on purpose sometimes because he thinks you look pretty when you glow

He's also a bit surprised still by how big you can open your mouth

Like, in your jellyfish form, you can open it to half your size??? You can still open it to a quarter of your size when still in human form?

He doesn't let Floyd squeeze you, don't worry!

(He does have you go up to random people sometimes though and have you tell them they have cancer)

Jade definitely will teach you all about mushrooms. Good ones, bad ones, edible ones, poisonous ones, all mushrooms!

Hopefully you listen, he'll be sad if you don't

You wouldn't want him to cry, would you?

Hello fellow human! (and Daniel simp lol). This is a very cool idea! (I want to go on the beach so bad yet I don't have free time because of school). Genre: fluff? (Kind of inspired and based on The Little Mermaid, just edgier) Note (quick fact!): Sirens are different from mermaids. Sirens are half birds with a face of a human (female mostly) to lure men/sailors and wreck their ships with the use of their voice and singing while mermaids usually keep their distance away from humanity, wanting to live peacefully (at least in most versions). Now I don't know what to call this "evil mermaid" creature that I made up on my mind and it's really tricky to write since sailors get killed by sirens when they are lured by the song so I kind of made it a mix of a siren and mermaid😭(pls bear with me lmao😀👍). He thought he was going to die when you approached the ship, but instead his weirdness got the best of him again as he ordered the fishermen to release you. It may be the dumb decision to let you go, but it's for the best for your and everybody's safety. He got a valuable evidence of your blood on the fishing hook that was used though.
