:3c Y/N likes to share their food and drink. they try to demonstrate their usefulness to the ppl they like, e.g. spending time together if they're lonely or fixing a problem or broken object for them. gestures of affection make them feel valued, like someone making them a drink bc they're thirsty, or BON-BON providing clothing after Vanessa destroyed theirs. you know, stuff that proves the other person is paying attention to them and what they need. plus light physical touch, but they're so touch starved they've gone in the other direction and barely engage in it anymore (for now.)

Sun appreciates when ppl do stuff with him like crafts cooking and chores, and he likes feeding his loved ones. skin on skin contact makes him feel content and secure. words of praise and affirmation make him feel valued and desired, especially if it's in response to something he's done for you. it's like a reward :)

Moon likes being fed, and he's into spending personal time together no matter if that's through talking or just silently sitting in one another's company. he becomes very protective over the people he cherishes. he LOVES playing games like tag and hide and seek, it's a real bonding method for him. and affectionate biting :[

also, both the mers are both BIG into physical touch, rip Y/N lol

egwjdhehhwsh i'm so complimented (⁠ ⁠ꈍ⁠ᴗ⁠ꈍ⁠) yeah so i try to upload once a month and if i fail then the next chapter is longer to make up for it! i used to upload two, three times a month sometimes before surgery last year, so once i feel better i hope to get back to that :D

Platonically kissing Bon-Bon's cheek on a screen. Does Bon-Bon criticize anything else about movies on the internet? I can see that he is also starting to develop criticism towards the clothes as if he were some cheap professional, or maybe he just criticizes everything he can

BON-BON dislikes when a movie doesn't fulfil its genre, so if an action film has poor action or a horror film isn't horror-ing effectively. he's begun critiquing the costumes lately as he's gotten into fashion, and he has the data at his fingertips to judge whether they meet historical standards or not.

BON-BON has tried to praise the movies he likes, but he finds stuff easier to criticise. unfortunately he's rather pessimistic and his current situation has given him a negative outlook on life, but Y/N helps balance him out. he likes talking to them after they've watched a movie together bc they focus on the stuff they liked about it and it helps him put his own preferences into words. he also can't say stuff like "i love the practical landscapes used in this movie because it allows me to vicariously explore as i can't leave my interface now or ever", even though it's true :p

So can't Y/N just say no to all those annoying scientists?? Like, I don't know, it's not their duty to provide all the information they ask for, they're a mechanic, not an errand picker. If they get upset they could ask them nicely to leave them alone, you know, they will only report what is necessary or what the mers allow because in the end I think there were laws that protected them or something like that.

sure they can, but they don't mind helping out and feeling useful ^_^ Y/N pushed for reporting Sun and Moon's use of ancient English bc they think it's safer for them to have that on record. but yeah even if the researchers get annoyed Y/N isn't under any real obligation to do their work for them. they would begrudgingly give up if Y/N told them the mermaids said no ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯
