Everyone knows that Chimney isn't the best person when it comes to keeping secrets. He tries, he really does but the words often slip out before his brain has caught up with what's happening. It is amazing how quickly a witty comment can let the cat out of the bag- and that's exactly what Buck and Eddie are hoping for.

the older i get and the closer i am to reaching 30, the more the people around me try to deny me my age. it’s a constant ‘oh you’re just turning 29 again teehee 🤭’ or ‘dont tell your SO that, he’ll leave you for a younger model 😉’ and i just???? hate it?????????
i spent my entire teenaged years fighting for my life. i crawled through the deepest pits of my depression to cling to the promise of a life beyond that pain. i was so convinced that i was going to die young, that i would never see the grace of my age starting with a 2, let alone 3.
so im going to turn 30, and there’s not a damn thing anyone can do to stop me from loving it.

I need more bestie Will and Bev content so I make it myself. They are the only cool people to ever exist in the FBI.
Also the Fred(dies) whom I despise (I love them with my whole heart). They are my favorite AO3 authors.

Good morning I’m thinking about the von Karmas and gunshot wounds. Contrary to popular belief, in most cases you don’t really want to take out a bullet unless you absolutely have to, since digging around in there causes more soft tissue damage and opens more possibilities for infection. One of the few places that bullets are almost always taken out, ironically, is the shoulder. Shoulders have a lot of important junk in them, and over time, the bullet crushes, tears, and destroys what’s around it, leading to nerve damage, loss of function in the arm, chronic pain, etc etc. It's kinda like shoving a rock in a really delicate machine and leaving it rattling around in there. Even if the wound itself was minor, the act of leaving the bullet in just steadily makes things worse If a bullet is removed from a non-complex gunshot wound to the shoulder, it’s not uncommon to get all your function back with minimal pain within months. If you don’t, the bullet just quite literally tears you up inside for the rest of your life And ain’t That a fun metaphor

I don't think a lot of people realize that lot of their advice to disabled people often boils down to "Get over it." they are trying to be helpful but their idea of helpful is "Just do the thing" because that's what they do. for them they just do things. It comes naturally to just do it.
They don't know how to bridge the gap between you and the task. For them the bridge is already pre-built and stable. For disabled people the bridge is run down, not well kept, it feels unsteady and is hard to get across without being slow and cautious - hell for some people there is no bridge and we need to build it ourselves but we don't have the bridge building tools and no one gives them to us.
"Just cross the bridge." They say before walking over their pre-built bridge. They never gave you the tools to build a bridge to cross.

i just think lois lane should put tim drake in her purse like a little dog. a scrunkly little companion who's even better at picking locks than she is, which is saying something. a nosy little freak after her own heart. the rubber duck she uses when talking her thoughts out loud to put clues together. her coffee gofer. her purse ferret.

I just want to say, everytime the notification that ypu posted pops up, I find myself running to tumblr with such fervour I thought i held for only running to hear my fave song on the radio. Just want ya to know that :3
Hearing that makes me feel both glad and a bit guilty :'> On one hand I'm flattered you care about my rambles enough to have notifications on, but I've developed a habit of responding to a lot of asks and I'm already worrying I might be clogging people's dashboards with them ´v` If you truly look forward to my posts and don't mind getting spammed with notifications then I'm happy they brighten your day!

The cancellation of the 2024 World Voices festival reminded me that I meant to make a post about this last week, when PEN America announced that it could not hold its annual literary award ceremony because so many authors and translators had withdrawn their submissions.  I don’t doubt that there's another post of this sort making the rounds, but since the ceremony was going to be tomorrow, I wanted to celebrate the literary achievements of every Finalist with a demonstrable backbone.
This is a list of writers who acted with integrity by withdrawing their work from the American subset of PEN International, an organization which has served as a bridge between literature and human rights for over a century.  PEN America has largely built its reputation by supporting persecuted writers, and has let down the entire international literary community by failing to take a meaningful public stance against the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people.
The following titles have been withdrawn from consideration at the request of the authors and translators:
PEN/Jean Stein Book Award
To a book-length work of any genre for its originality, merit, and impact, which has broken new ground by reshaping the boundaries of its form and signaling strong potential for lasting influence.
Hangman by Maya Binyam
Biography of X by Catherine Lacey
Poem Bitten by a Man by Brian Teare
Blackouts by Justin Torres
PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize for Debut Short Story Collection
To an author whose debut collection of short stories represents distinguished literary achievement and suggests great promise for future work.
The Sorrow of Others by Ada Zhang
PEN/Hemingway Award for Debut Novel
To a debut novel of exceptional literary merit.
Promise by Rachel Eliza Griffiths
Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang
PEN/Voelcker Award for Poetry Collection
To a poet whose distinguished collection of poetry represents a notable and accomplished literary presence.
Couplets by Maggie Millner
suddenly we by Evie Shockley
PEN Translation Prize
From From by Monica Youn
For a book-length translation of poetry from any language into English.
Owlish by Dorothy Tse translated from the Chinese by Natascha Bruce
Trash by Sylvia Aguilar-Zéleny translated from the Spanish by J.D. Pluecker

to me it’s the fact that Imogen sought out Orym first. how she asked about his husband, about “big moon, little moon”, asking if the meaning changed. asking if it was worth the hurt, if it was going to be worth it once it all inevitably goes wrong.
and then she went and found Laudna.

I think this will be my last ever post about this situation on this account unless something brand new and wonderous (/s) happens, but stop acting like people should have seen the signs all along lmao?
Analyze his music and how he left warnings and hints all you want, but don't act like this was something that everyone should have seen coming. No offence but encouraging people to take every single song ever made at face value on the off-chance that the song is actually meant to be taken at face value is crazy. Ntm you guys are reading into things way more than necessary (E-girl Trilogy was just Wilbur making songs and capitalizing off of jokes about simps and Delphine fans, face it)
Also, it feels kind of off-putting because it does feel in the same territory as victim-blaming? I'm saying this as an emotional abuse victim myself btw. Telling people that it was there all along and that if they just tried hard enough they would know... You're seriously setting people up for failure in the future when it comes to these things
I'm not saying that Wilbur's fanbase is a victim of him, that's going a step too far I'd imagine. It's just that doing this sort of thing encourages other fans (who, again face it, are mostly comprised of impressionable teens) to either gain trust issues or be blindly trustful of others because CLEARLY they know better now and can see problems from a mile away
This is a long stupid post I know, but I'm tired of seeing dumbass posts on every single damn social media app about how Your New Boyfriend is "Wilbur's true self and he was telling us all along and we're dumb for not getting it."
