Winter Anime List 2023
There will be lots of new anime this season so first time in long time need to see what I will be able to watch when they air and what I will put to the watch list later to watch them.

氷属性男子とクールな同僚女子/Koori Zokusei Danshi to Cool na Douryou Joshi/ The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague
Looks great, and story is interesting so looking forward to see this. Cast is nice, Kobayashi Chiaki, Uchiyama Kouki and Nakamura Shuugo. OP and ED sounds promising.
ツルネ ―つながりの一射―/Tsurune: Tsunagari no Issh/Tsurune - The Linking Shot -
Tsurune is such beautiful anime series, and love the characters and can't wait to see new characters in 2nd season, especially Fujiwara, Onogi, Nikaidou and Aragaki. Cast is great and new additions is amazing. So happy that Tsurune got 2nd season and it's calming to see kyuudou.
テクノロイド OVERMIND/Technoroid: Overmind
Idols and androids. Recent PV looked so amazing, very excited to see this, and hear all the music. Cast is great; Furukawa Makoto, Enoki, Kajiwara. Bands look very nice, especially STAND-ALONE and KNoCC.

リベンジャー/Revenger
This looks so amazing, and can't wait to see this. The characters are interesting and cast is so nice, Umehara and Takeuchi once again together in same anime. Especially Umehara's character Yuuen Usui is so handsome. So expect to spam his pictures everywhere.
スパイ教室/Spy Kyoushitsu/Spy Classroom
Curious to see this, and Umehara in the cast. Story seems interesting, training spies.

Umehara and Enoki in the cast, and story seems to be interesting, PV looked great.
異世界のんびり農家/Isekai Nonbiri Nouka/Farming Life in Another World
PV looked nice and begin of the story is interesting.
The Legend of Heroes 閃の軌跡 Northern War/The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel - Northern War
The cast has Nakamura, Uchiyama and Ono. Action anime is always nice to watch so want to give this a try.
シュガーアップル・フェアリーテイル/Sugar Apple Fairy Tale
One of the most anticipated anime of this season. Sugar sculpting and main character is so hot, and his voice, Mizunaka. The advent calender in twitter is so cute.

Buddy Daddies
I look forward this so much, it looks awesome and the characters are interesting. Cast is great, Uchiyama and Toyonaka. Uchiyama's character, Suwa Rei is sexy and his hair style, aaahhh.
ツンデレ悪役令嬢リーゼロッテと実況の遠藤くんと解説の小林さん/Tsundere Akuyaku Reijou Liselotte to Jikkyou no Endou-kun to Kaisetsu no Kobayashi-san/Endo and Kobayashi Live! The Latest on Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte
PV looked nice, and story interesting, cast is great; Nakamura, Ishikawa, Yashiro, Horie, Oosaka and Sugita.
TRIGUN STAMPEDE
PV was amazing and animation style nice, and the cast is great, Hosoya, Uchiyama and Matsuoka.
UniteUp!
Nothing concrete info yet, but idol anime is always nice to watch and characters is cute.
東京リベンジャーズ 聖夜決戦編/Tokyo Revengers: Seiya Kessen-hen/Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown
2nd season, interested to see how it continues after what happened end of the 1st season.
解雇された暗黒兵士（30代）のスローなセカンドライフ/Kaiko sareta Ankoku Heishi (30-dai) no Slow na Second Life/Chillin' in My 30s after Getting Fired from the Demon King's Army
Story seems to be worth of watching, and it's always nice to hear Sugita, especially when he's main character's voice.

PV looked great, and cast is nice. Curious to see this.
最強陰陽師の異世界転生記/Saikyou Onmyouji no Isekai Tenseiki/The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World
Reincarnation and fantasy, action scenes looked great, so curious to see this. Nice cast; Matsuoka, Umehara and Kajiwara.

ノケモノたちの夜/Nokemono-tachi no Yoru/The Tale of Outcasts
Story is very interesting, and especially when one of the main characters is so handsome and fluffy with animal characteristics and fluffy ears. Cast is great; Oosaka, Konishi and Furukawa.
虚構推理/Kyokou Suiri Season 2/ In/Spectre Season 2
First season was rather let down, but have some hope to 2nd season as PV looked great, and the case has yuki-onna. Also it's nice to hear Mamoru and Furukawa, and Mamoru is singing ED, hope it's as good as first season's Last Dance (only one great bit of first season).

ハイカード/High Card
Cast is incredible, Masuda, Umehara, Takeuchi (another anime where they are together), Horie and Satou. Story is very interesting, and the action great what I saw in the PV. Excited to see this finally.
吸血鬼すぐ死ぬ2/Kyuuketsuki Sugu Shinu 2/The Vampire Dies in No Time Season 2
1st season was hilarious so can't wait to see 2nd season and their adventures. Especially Roland and Handa's bickering (his room full of Roland's merch).
あやかしトライアングル/Ayakashi Triangle
Ninja anime, Chiba Shouya main character's voice. Story sounds interesting.

Supernatural and mythology, count me in. Looked amazing, excited to see this.

Rather different isekai I have seen, warrior is reborn into a young lady, PV looked funny. Cast is nice; Nakamura, Konishi.
人間不信の冒険者たちが世界を救うようです/Ningen Fushin no Boukensha-tachi ga Sekai wo Sukuu you desu/Ningen Fushin: Adventurers Who Don`t Believe in Humanity Will Save the World
PV was funny and great, four misfits is kicked out of their parties so they meet and decide to form a new party and continue adventuring together. Kobayashi Yuusuke and Toki Shunichi in the cast, and it's nice to hear Toki singing for a while as he sings OP.

Uchida Yuuma and Hino Satoshi in the cast, and one of the main characters is white fluffy wolf who makes contract with Tsuyoshi who can cook. Excited to see this and Uchida Yuuma is singing ED so nice to hear him sing. Story is interesting so looking forward this.

Able to see these cuties together is heartwarming, love them so much, and really loved anime and OVA (special episode). So excited to see them once again, and make my days full of fluffiness.
平野と鍵浦/Hirano to Kagiura
Other couple from Sasaki and Miyano and their own story. Two being roommates and their daily lives in the dorm and the school. Also hearing Nobunaga and Matsuoka is really nice.
BLUE GIANT
Story and theme is rather different than usual, it's about jazz players and hear saxophone is always nice. PV looked great, and curious to see this movie.

look at this frame! don't their poses look similar, even though they're in totally different places?? well, there's a simple reason for it! we can see raph in the driver seat, his left hand on the wheel, while the other one's searching for someting, it's symbolising his active role as leader, while leo stands alongside him, his left hand on a handhold while he gestures with the other, showing him being less active and more of a passive presence, but he's ready on his feet, it's symbolising his potential as raph's co-leader but also him not yet being ready, still gripping the safety rails instead of the driving wheel-
(nah i'm kidding- like, was it just artists drawing similar poses in one scene? oh yeah most definitively! will that stop me from over-analysing? nope! :D this basically wrote itself!)

That's Right#lackadaisy#WHICH i have been reading since at least '07 when i was thirteen my god b/c this animation is based on the ongoing webcomic#like does its influence show up Directly in some Discrete way i can point to in my art? not very easily probably. And Yet.#the inspiration....i wasn't able to be Regularly Only for at least another year / art done Nonprofessionally Online was novel to me#like wow ppl can make & post fanart of w/e they love huh....didn't know webcomics were a thing & i never really read that many since but.#good god the quality of Lackadaisy at its onset is like this is superb?? this person putting in all their talent and effort???#and Then you get years & years more art and i don't even know what superlatives to throw out abt its quality as it evolves. obsessed w/it..#if i see a new lackadaisy comic page i Will be acting out. obviously this animation is a delight & also stunning. and fascinating to also#juxtapose as a Translation / Interpretation of the comic in a different medium & standalone snippet of Story#and that we're not even quite there in the comic timeline; Taking Notes abt character info we get distilledly here....genuinely love like#take it back to '07 i'm like oh boy can't wait for the dream team to assemble. then a decade later when it did? #ask#non-mdzs#I have a hunch you will not recall sending this to me but I wish to immortalize it.#The progression of me going 'aw' to 'barking with laughter' at the last bit of this message was a delight.#Oh man what to say about getting into MDZS...#I admit I'm probably low on the list of people who should be recommending it.#I enjoy it! But there are also a ton of different adaptations that each do a slightly different thing with the story and characters.#Personally I loved The Untamed (Netflix live action) for how campy the action was. It got emotional but really...It made me laugh.#And I love watching it with people because it also makes them laugh.#(The Untamed changes a lot of plot elements so it isn't looked upon very favourably by many fans. I love it as its own thing)#Don't get me wrong; it *is* a story with interesting things to say and I certainly have written tons of analysis on it.#But it's also a series I spent over a year making parody comics of. It comes from a place of love!#The audio drama is really good and I think it might be the best form of mdzs...however finding episodes is not easy.#The audio drama is also what I'm basing all these comics on!#There is a book (the primary source) An animated series and a comic to check out as well.#Someone probably has a better pitch and recommendation list than I do. I just make the funny comics.

#zeno's art#i'm not sure if i should tag the show itself as i'm not a fan but i guess its “fan”art so i will#hazbin hotel#charlie hazbin hotel#vivziepop#i was bored and wanted to draw something#my main goal here was to create a design that looked distinct and could (potentially) be moderately easy to animate#of course based on charlie's character i added as many angel images as possible through the hair and bowtie#(i know white on white is a character design sin but i wanted to show the angel wing detail ;w;)#also to express the personality and juxtaposition of a sweet devil her horns are supposed to curve into a heart shape#of course the garterbelts are upside-down/st peters crosses because of her satanic themes#i also tried to go harder into the goat theme but its still subtle i think#i actually think the goat theme is really interesting because of the story of the sheep and the goats in the bible#but i cant remember if it was actually something intended in her original design#i'm not going to draw anyone else so dont even anticipate that#this was basically a cooldown? ok i think i'm rambling now#goodbye#ok edit to say it clearly: i am not a fan of vivziepop or her work. i just wanted to redesign charlie as a cooldown/exercise for fun#because i used to be a fan of the character before i wised up about what vivzie had and has done#and before i matured and noticed the cracks and fundamental flaws in her works#so yea i dont support her at all and this redesign is critical i guess#also the reason why the tag “vivziepop” is there in the first place is so that anyone who has that tag silenced can scroll past#without seeing anything related to her work. in case that clears anything up#its the same reason why i tag “long post” and “food” and the like

#laishuro#laios touden#i make a lot of jokes on here since part of the fun of this blog for me is limiting myself to only expressing ideas via drawings#as much as I can to try to see what I can try to convey in the limited time I have to draw each day which is sometimes like 15minutes#but laios idea of who shuro was to him and who he continues to be and how it ties into his own feelings of self worth and self hatred#not to mention being so thoroughly defined by having never been indulged before by the men in his life#are so compelling to me#and then of course you mix in toshiros own mind prisons#and their established dynamic of him begrudgingly putting up with him because he feels he has to and bc hes cursed with obedience#whilst laios genuinely thinks shuro does it because he likes it and likes laios because why else would anyone act like that#when everyone else in his life has not hesitated to Let Him Know#this is what is so fun about relationships like this…forever passing by each other’s true feelings like ships in the night#and on toshiros side umineko said it best People are riddles. They want someone else to solve their riddle#they live life wanting someone to solve the riddle that they are#the most difficult riddle in the world#without love the truth cannot be seen sighhhh many such cases#sometimes i get embarassed how deep i get for some of the characters in this series it really is that deep sometimes but not always#but WHATEVER#i never even engaged in or was interested in shipping the several years i read dunmeshi EXCEPT laishuro lol#which i sadistically wanted to stay one sided and miserable forever. I rarely get fed such genuinely fraught dynamics as their one in manga#so i became obsessed#and walked through the desert alone for 40 years and then checked in as anime started airing that other people ship this and gaf#and decided to unleash the jokes and ideas that my like 2 friend who like anime previously suffered alone as though they were jesus christ#now tho as much as I still enjoy tragedy and pain and emotional suffering I’ve let love and peace and requited fulfilled yaoi into my life#with laishuro. and its great!#my comics

I was once again thinking about this goofy Luffy moment after his Lucci punch™ and i had to see it frame by frame.
first the force of it throws them both away, and while Lucci is seen on screen tumbling for a long moment, Luffy is just away in a blink of an eye.
and then his funny scene - his legs are like jelly that he tries to get under control,
he stumbles, falls, rolls into a mix of all his limbs and eyes,
and then only the cloud behind him cushions his fall
- which would be interesting if he can subconsciously control that while he tries to regain the control over his movements - that the environment around him still adapts to his awakened Devil Fruit abilities and morphs to help him. Where others would probably fall through that cloud, for Luffy that cloud backs him up like a trampoline.
It's just fascinating!

here's what it is I think. it's so hard to just enjoy stupid shit anymore bc it's all so commercialized. commodified. we couldnt just enjoy frogs and mushrooms- I have to see 30 posts a day that are reblog bait for people's Etsy collections of pride colored mushroom themed frogs. we couldn't take away anything of weight from be gay do crime, instead I have to see it slapped onto every conceivable piece of merchandise in every font under the sun, for years on end. it's not fun anymore. it makes me hate things I used to enjoy.

Isekai but you used to BE someone. You wake up in a healing ward surrounded by people relieved that you’re awake. You watch their faces fall as they realize you don’t know who they are. Isekai but you don’t know this world’s societal norms. Everyone learned this as a kid, why can’t you? Isekai but you can’t be the child, sibling, friend that you’re supposed to. You sleep in someone else’s room, and wear someone else’s clothes, and sit at someone else’s desk. They liked taking care of plants. They liked mixing potions. You don’t know the first thing about either, but you have to try.
It’s never the same. Some people say that you’re cursed. Some say you’re a changeling. You think of the person who’d died in that healing ward, and wonder if you are.

Really interesting take to idol/music anime, quite excited for this one. Great cast, Horie Shun, Satou Takuya, Terashima Takuma... And PV and characters' introduction videos were funny.

Another football anime, looks interesting and PV was nice, intrigued to see this. The cast is amazing, Umehara Yuuichirou, Toriumi Kousuke, Toki Shunichi, Kobayashi Chiaki, Ono Yuuki...pretty much the best line up of this season.

For some reason, in a world of near entirely names of Japanese (or very rarely, English) origin, there's a blind astronomer named Jean-Marc Tatar, seemingly the only French man in the history in the Naruto universe, who is also friends with Ninja God.

Sorry about the color mix up. I appreciate the reply and additional info! I guess bc I know nothing about peafowl (and the fact i dont breed any type of animal), I'm having a hard time understanding how being sterile would be unethical. I do somewhat get the shortened life span. I really would like to understand this, I just sometimes need stuff explained like I'm 5.
Up front, there's no "somewhat get" to a shortened lifespan being caused by a mutation in captive populations. If an animal is capable of living 20+ years (and some live 30+ or even 40+!) and some non-essential mutation is causing them to live 7-9 years, it's flat out absolutely unethical to breed that mutation, full stop, regardless of anything else going on. That's indicative of a MAJOR problem in their genetics. There's NO ethical reason to breed that because humans like how it looks. So, even without the sterility, these birds would 100% be unethical to produce.
The short answer on sterility is this: we don't know WHY they are sterile, but they shouldn't be, and that means something has gone wrong. When something goes wrong with an animal, and it's something genetic that can be passed on, the ONLY responsible and ethical thing for a breeder to do is to stop using that animal for breeding and closely monitor any already-produced offspring for signs of the problem, and likely not breed them, either.
The longer more complicated answer is this: sometimes it's possible to separate the problem from the aesthetic when it comes to morphs, like it was for cameo + blindness, but sometimes it's NOT, like it wasn't for spider + head wobble for ball pythons. In those instances, it's... difficult. Because you're LIKELY going to produce animals that suffer the same problem as their parent(s), in the attempt to separate the problem from the aesthetic, and sometimes that's ALL you're going to produce. As a breeder, it's your absolute responsibility to NOT release the offspring into the general population, where the problem may be replicated without control, and to keep or cull the affected individuals if the problem cannot be separated from the aesthetic, or AT BEST find them guaranteed pet-only homes that will NEVER breed them.
Sometimes the problem IS purely aesthetic or harmless, like it was for pied in peafowl, and sometimes it's not, like it was for vitiligo in peafowl. The problem comes when you ASSUME a mutation is the first, and treat it like the first when it's really the second. This has caused FAR reaching consequences in the peafowl community, and I'm sure in others, where now the autoimmune disease that first bronze had has been passed into genpop by folks who thought they were breeding a harmless new variation of pied. Hybrid animals are often sterile (not in peafowl though, hybrid cristatus-muticus birds are fertile) because of a mismatch in chromosome pairing numbers, and often that's harmless. So, in some cases sterility is not an issue because it's the expected result or is otherwise harmless... but in the case of peafowl, it's NOT an expected result and we don't know if it's caused by something harmless or not.
Some species, like mice and horses and cattle and dogs, genetic testing and DNA mapping done with millions of dollars has proven that while some stuff isn't purely aesthetic, it also doesn't cause harm to the animal in a way that affects quality of life or that can be adapted for in captive care. For example, in chickens, the frizzle gene causes curled feathers in single copy and an absence of feathers in double copy. This gene is considered ethical to produce IF the breeding is done responsibly by putting a single copy bird over a zero copy bird, which produces smooth coats and frizzle coats, but it is unethical to produce double frizzles (called "frazzles") because frazzles cannot thermoregulate, can easily sunburn, and easily suffer skin injury during normal chicken activity.
For peafowl, we have NO genetic testing. We do not have the genome mapped. As far as I know there's a research group working on it (mostly for green peafowl though, in conservation efforts), but that's not remotely finished or available to the public to test anything. We don't know where any of the morph mutations sit, or what is causing them or if they do anything beyond just change the color. Sometimes color mutations are the result of malfunctions in enzymes. For charcoal specifically, we don't know what the mutation does, besides what we can observe on the outside- the birds have half or less the lifespan of normal birds, poor feather quality, and the hens are sterile. Is the sterility harmless like it is in some hybrid animals, or is it actually a major organ failing? Is it the only major organ that fails due to this mutation, or is it just the first sign of their shortened lives? Is it some deficiency in something the birds need to be healthy? Does it hurt the bird? We don't know, but we do know the mutation and the problems (multiple, please do NOT forget that this is one OF MORE THAN ONE problems) can't be separated, and so until we do know why and whether it's harmless or not, the ONLY ethical response to seeing a problem in a major organ's function linked inextricably to a mutation in color is to not propagate that mutation. If someone wanted to fork over the millions it takes to sequence and map genomes and then determine exactly what is going on with peafowl, that would be nice and good, but I don't see that happening. When I win the lottery big, I'll be doing it, but til then we can only follow normal breeding guidelines
Also, to put this into perspective... peafowl mature sexually around 3 years old. They are chicks until the turn of the new year following their hatch. They are yearlings that year, and immature 2yo next year. They aren't actually considered fully grown until 6 years old, and should live another 14+ years. Charcoal birds die a 1-3 years after full maturity. Is it a coincidence that they fail to thrive shortly after full sexual maturity, or is it linked? Again, we don't know. We don't know if the sterility is fine or if it's just a symptom of something worse.
Even without the sterility, though, charcoal has enough issues it would be unethical. If it was JUST sterility, with no other deleterious effects, then maybe it would be different. But it's not.
