Don’t Turn Into Them | Tommy Shelby x Reader

Pairing: Tommy Shelby x reader

Summary: Tensions escalate when (Y/N)'s worry of Tommy becoming something he's not gets miscommunicated and blown out of proportions.

Warnings: language, smoking, mentions of drinking

Word Count: 3644

A/N: bit of a disclaimer, I’m not the best at writing arguments…I also wanted to pick a fight about something that isn’t one of the normal topics. With that being said, I hope this makes sense. Enjoy! :)

Everyone was in high spirits as the poll master read out the votes. Tommy won the open seat in Parliament by a landslide, as was expected. (Y/N) slipped out of the main polling area just before pandemonium erupted. She knew that her six month old daughter, Ruby, wouldn't react well to the excitement, so she wanted to get as far away from it as possible.

She stood on the landing of the steps with Ruby in her arms and waited for her husband and his family to emerge after all of the well-wishes and procedural things were finished. She couldn't help but breathe out a sigh of relief as she got away from the crowd.

There was such an uneasy feeling surrounding the other men in the room; the men that Tommy would now be working with given that they were politicians as well. They all wore smiles and chatted as if they'd been friends for the majority of each other's lives, but (Y/N) knew that it was fake; that they were only doing that so that they could advance their own agenda when it came down to it. The fact that Tommy was one of them now worried her...she didn't want to see him turn into one of them.

These worrisome thoughts were pushed aside when the two men standing guard opened the doors and Tommy became visible. His eyes locked onto (Y/N) and Ruby immediately, and he couldn't stop the smile that formed on his face as he accepted his gun back from one of the men. His family filed out behind him as he tucked the firearm back into its spot in the holster under his coat. Tommy didn't stop for the people shouting about taking photographs, and instead he kept his eyes locked onto his wife as he walked down the steps.

"I didn't see you in there at the end, love," he whispered as he stopped in front of her.

"Had to get out...Ruby would have freaked," she answered, smiling at him. Tommy noticed that it didn't quite reach her eyes. Something seemed to be bothering her.

"Lemme see her," he said, his eyes focused on Ruby as he reached out for her; his smile widening. "Come 'ere, Ruby girl," he spoke to the child, who happily reached out for her father and let him take her into his arms. He lifted her in the air, smiling widely as she cooed with excitement, her smile matching his. (Y/N) smiled as she watched Tommy interact with their daughter.

"Mumma," Charlie, their four year old son, called out, making her look from Tommy and Ruby to the boy.

"Come here, Charlie," she called him over, reaching her hand out for him. Upon seeing this, he happily let go of Polly's hand to make his way over to the rest of his family.

Cameras were going off like crazy now, and (Y/N) tried her best not to bother with them. Tommy didn't seem to care as he brought Ruby down to rest on his hip. She felt like she needed to be more like him at the moment. But she couldn't seem to shake the incessant pestering coming from the people behind the flashes. "Didn't get my kiss yet," Tommy's whispered words brought her out of her thoughts, making her look over at him again. His smile made her smile as she leaned in and kissed his lips quickly.

"Mr. Shelby! Mr. Shelby, look over here!" one of the photographers called out after Tommy and (Y/N) pulled back to look at each other again.

He gave her a look, as if to ask her if she was ok with it, and she nodded before turning slightly to face the people calling for them. She placed her one hand on Charlie's shoulder and her other on Ruby’s back as she smiled for the picture with Tommy by her side.

The family then came to join in on the picture, filling in around Tommy, (Y/N) and their children. After several flashes, Arthur stepped forward and began waving his arms. "Alright, alright! You've got enough photos to go around now!" he called out as he continued with his attempts of clearing the photographers away from the steps. Everyone followed him once the path was cleared, and made their way out to the waiting cars that would take them to the ball that was being held in Tommy's honor.

"Mr. Shelby, congratulations," Frances said with a smile as she opened the door to greet the family that she worked for.

"Thank you, Frances," Tommy smiled at the older woman as he allowed her to help him out of his coat. He'd had a long day and was ready to unwind with some whiskey in his office.

"Frances, would you take the children up to bed?" (Y/N) asked as Frances helped her out of her coat while Ruby stayed sleeping in her arms.

"I can, Mrs. Shelby," France nodded after putting their coats in the front closet. She then accepted Ruby from (Y/N)'s arms and placed her comfortably on her hip.

"Goodnight, Charles," (Y/N) smiled down at her sleepy son, ruffling his hair as he smiled back up at her.

"Come on, Charlie," France said softly, her hand falling to his shoulder as she ushered him to the steps so that they could go up to his room.

(Y/N) watched her children until they disappeared down the hallway before she turned to look at Tommy. It surprised her slightly that he was still there. "I'm going to the reading room," she told him, a dismissive tone in her voice.

Tommy furrowed his brows at his wife, confused by the sudden shift in the tone she was using. She seemed so upbeat the entire night, but now she was acting like she wanted to get as far away from him as possible. He couldn't let her get away without saying something about it.

"Something wrong?" he decided to stay simple with the question, an inquisitive tone present in his voice.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" (Y/N) spun around to face him, a glare on her face.

Her response made him even more confused, "yes, I would...that's why I'm asking," he pointed out.

She huffed at his answer. What he thought was a straight-forward response, she perceived as sarcastic. "You've not noticed at all this entire night?" she asked him, her eyebrows raised.

"Noticed what?" he still had not a clue what she was getting at.

"See that's the problem!" she exclaimed, her eyes wide as she threw her arms up, "you let it go; you don't notice things until they're about to blow up in your face!"

Tommy dropped his gaze to the floor, running a hand over his face before he looked up again. "Would you please just tell me what the fuck you're trying to get at here, (Y/N)?!" he explicitly asked for her to explain herself, his voice raising to meet hers now.

"It's right in front of your face...it's practically screaming at you!" she raised her voice even more, showing him that she was still in control. "I can't believe that you're too blind to see what's going on," she then bit on her lip, her emotions starting to mix in with the adrenaline she was feeling. She was always an angry crier...tears were expected to fall no matter how hard she tried to keep them back.

"What's going on?" he held his confused stance, and that seemed to infuriate (Y/N) even more.

"Just stop, Tommy!" she exclaimed, feeling like she wanted to pull her hair out. She felt like he was backing her towards the edge of a cliff, and she had no choice but to fight back or else she'd fall off.

"Stop what?"

"That! This act! You're questioning…everything you're doing right now, just stop it!" the only thing keeping (Y/N) from full-blown screaming at this point was the fact that the kids were upstairs.

"You know, if you're looking for a fight..."

"I'm not looking for a fight," she was quick to cut him off, leveling her voice once more.

"Then what the hell is this?" Tommy's eyes were wide and serious.

"I don't like what you're doing, Tommy!" (Y/N) blurted just about the second after he finished speaking. It was one of those utterances where she closed her eyes as she said the words as loud as she could; hoping that her doing so would make him forget what he was going to say in response.

Tommy paused after her admission, which meant that her plan was working. He blinked a few times, staring at her with his mouth slightly agape. "What?" he finally asked, his voice low now, noticing the stark drop in intensity after she said what she needed to.

"I don't like that you've been elected to serve in Parliament. I don't like that you've accepted that seat. I don't like that you're going to be rubbing elbows with those back-stabbing bastards..." she paused, her eyes locked onto his. She was ready to continue her monologue after a deep breath, "I don't like how you're going to learn how to play their game, where you say one thing to someone at one point and then turn your back and go completely against them the next. I don't like that you're going to be one of them," her volume had escalated slightly as she finished her statement, her emotions so obviously running high.

"I...I don't understand what you're trying to get at here," Tommy still had a hard time seeing the reasons behind her worry-driven, angry outbursts.

"Of course you don't," (Y/N) sighed, dropping her gaze to the floor as she shook her head.

"Well then fucking explain it to me so that I can understand it!" Tommy raised his voice once more. The fact that she was so quickly putting him off while speaking in veiled statements irritated him, and he was to the point where he couldn't continue anymore.

"These men are the worst of their kind...don't you see that?!" (Y/N) answered him like it was the most obvious thing in the world...well to her it was. "They're the worst of their kind and somehow they managed to sneak their way into these positions of power where they get to say how the people who have nothing should live. They get to play God and give ultimatums and use these helpless people like they're fucking chess pawns in their grand scheme," she kept her eyes locked with Tommy's as she spoke, hoping he'd recognize how terribly she felt about his choice.

"That's why I've taken this position," instead of recognizing, he insisted that there was a reason behind him doing this.

"To join them?!" (Y/N) asked incredulously.

"No, not to fucking join them," Tommy shut down her statement, "I aim to tear them down from the fucking inside. People like Mosley, and fucking Riggs...it's easy to get them to think that I'd stand with their bullshit, but I'm not going to," he then explained what his reason behind this move was.

(Y/N) wasn't pleased with his answer. She couldn't help but snort when she heard it. She shuddered at the mention of Stephan Riggs’ name…he was one of the fakest men in politics, and (Y/N) couldn’t bear to watch him act like he cared only to do what solely benefited him when it came down to it. "You say that now, but then you'll be singing like a fucking canary for them on the floor," she finally said, her words coming out with a tone of disgust laced into them.

"You think that I'd be their pawn?" Tommy raised his eyebrows.

"Yes I do," (Y/N) doubled-down on her statement.

"And why is that?" Tommy asked, incredulousness present in his voice. He waited a moment for her response, but continued when he got none. "Eh? Why do you all of a sudden not have any trust or faith in what I'm doing?" There was another pause with no response. It felt like his blood was starting to boil now. "Fucking tell me, (Y/N)!" he exclaimed, finally letting the pent up emotion out.

"Because you'll be good at playing their game!" she was now ready with a response the second he stopped talking, "you'll be good at the game, and who's to say that you won't start buying into and believing the shit that they're trying to shove down the throats of the unsuspecting people who will then have no choice but to follow along with it. These bastards are evil, Tommy. They'll hurt innocent people and I won't have you joining in on it." she ended when her voice wavered, finally showing that she was holding back all of these overwhelming emotions. She hated it, and she tried to keep a steely gaze on Tommy as she waited for his response.

"These bastards are gonna do it anyway," he insisted, his voice dire as he kept his eyes locked on hers, "I'm putting myself in there to try and stop it."

"All feats start out with good intentions," she reminded him.

"You must not know who the fuck I am then," he disagreed with her.

"I guess I don't..." she trailed off.

Tommy didn't know what to say in response to her statement. He blinked a few times and pursed his lips together, hoping that these extra few silent seconds would reward him with the right words. But they didn't. He pressed against his temples with his thumb and middle fingers before he shook his head and exhaled a sigh. "I'll be in my office," he told her then, a dismissive tone now in his voice. He then walked past her to the steps and began walking up them.

"What about your family, Tommy?!" (Y/N) called after him, unhappy that he was walking away instead of continuing to talk to her; to sort this out. She still felt like she was fuming. She couldn't believe that he didn't consider what his family would have thought about this. "What about Ruby and Charlie? What about me?" she continued when she didn't get a response from him, desperation present in her voice.

Tommy kept walking up the stairs, and her anger was rising with each step he took. She added more onto her statement after a few more silent moments passed, "you always say that you think of us when you make decisions such as this, but I can't seem to recognize where we fall into it this time."

This statement got Tommy to stop. He was at the top of the stairs at this point. He looked down at (Y/N), who now looked absolutely wrecked by everything that had been said between them, before glancing down at the floor. "Nothing good's going to come of this if we continue," he told her then, his dismissive tone still present.

"Then go," (Y/N) told him, biting back her tears that were now threatening to fall, "go to your fucking office and drink your fucking whiskey and forget about what I even said," she told him, her words dripping with venom.

Tommy looked at her one last time before he turned and began walking down the hall to his office. (Y/N) let out a shudder of a sigh, finally letting her tears fall before she turned and walked into the front room. She decided that she would sit in there for some time before going up to her room for the night.

It wasn't until much later in the evening that Tommy finally entered the master bedroom. (Y/N) was still awake, sitting up on her side of the bed while reading a book. She glanced over at him as the door shut before focusing back on her book. Tommy didn't say anything either, instead focusing on getting himself undressed and ready for bed.

(Y/N) tried to continue reading her book until she couldn't anymore, finding herself more focused on her husband's night time routine than the words on the page. He remained oblivious to her watching until he happened to catch her eyes in the vanity's mirror while he was placing his pocket watch down.

Instead of joining her in bed, he sat down on the vanity's bench and picked a cigarette out of his tin. (Y/N) placed her book next to her before she slowly swung her legs over the side of the bed, sitting up completely. She watched Tommy for a few moments as he quietly smoked before finally standing up and making her way over to him.

She sat down on the empty space of the bench and hesitantly wrapped her arms around his shoulders from behind so that she was able to lean against his back. Neither said anything as they sat there. (Y/N) was content with feeling his warmth and breathing in his scent.

Then Tommy spoke up: "I'll turn down the seat in Parliament if it's what you want," he told her. There was a hint of a conceding tone in his voice that she picked up on. She also didn't miss the fact that it sounded like he was saying this reluctantly.

His surrender caught her off guard, and it made her sit up straight again as she came to grips with it. "Why such a sudden change?" she asked him, having an inkling of the reason behind it...she wanted to hear it from him though.

"You've voiced your concern about me doing it," he answered her, discarding his cigarette in the ashtray on the vanity before he turned to face her, "I can't be doing something that my wife doesn't like."

(Y/N) had to stifle her giggle as she heard the second part of his statement. "This wouldn't be the first time you've done something I don't like, Tommy Shelby," she reminded him, smiling slightly as she spoke.

Tommy couldn't help but chuckle slightly at her words. "I know...I'm guilty of that," he admitted his defeat, "but this time seemed different. You've never been that quick to express your distaste in the past," he pointed out.

"I didn't think you'd listen," she said then, trying to keep her happiness pushed down. Right now she was feeling like a child who was told they could stay up past their bedtime.

"Figured it's time I'd changed that," he told her, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he looked her in the eyes.

(Y/N) couldn't stop the smile that formed on her face as he said those words. She reached out and grabbed his face, her hands resting against his cheeks as she pulled him closer to her. "Thank you, Tommy," she breathed, her forehead resting against his briefly before she leaned in and kissed his lips.

"You're welcome, love," he answered her in a similar tone before he kissed her again.

(Y/N) wrapped her arms around his neck when they pulled away, and she leaned herself against his chest so that she could tuck her face into the crook of his neck. Tommy accepted the embrace and fastened his hands to her waist so that he could hold her tight against his body.

They sat silently in that position for some time, both comfortable against each other after talking through their previous argument. It was like a weight had been lifted off of their shoulders.

(Y/N) was the one to break the silence this time as she finally pulled away from Tommy's chest. She looked at him for a few moments, searching his eyes before she said what was on her mind: "I think you should keep the job, Tommy," she told him, her words making him furrow his eyebrows.

"Keep the job?" he asked her, like he was checking to see if he heard correctly.

"Yes," she nodded.

"I thought you didn't want me working with those men," he pointed out, harking back to the major point she'd made in their previous argument.

"I don't," she started off, making her stance on that point starkly clear. Tommy furrowed his eyebrows again, but let her continue, "I don't want you working with those men, but at the same time, I recognize the amount of good that you could do for the people of Birmingham if you keep that position. The people of that city need someone like you representing them...you’re one of them. You’re not one of those inconsiderate politicians who’ll run over anyone they could in order to make a gain. All I ask is that you don’t turn into them when you take this position.”

“I won’t,” Tommy’s answer to her ask was quick and spoken definitively, “you have my word, love.”

(Y/N) smiled as she heard his promise. “Good,” she said, taking hold of his cheeks so that she could kiss him again, her smile still present as her lips pressed against his. “We’ve had a long day…let’s go to bed,” she said once they pulled away.

A grin formed on Tommy’s face as his eyes matched hers. (Y/N) got butterflies in her stomach just from the look he was giving her. She knew what would leave his lips next. “I’ll go to bed with you, but I have no intentions of sleeping just yet,” he told her as he stood from the bench. He grabbed hold of her waist, making her shriek as she stood up with him. He then began peppering kisses across her skin, making her giggle as he led her over to their bed.

ALBEDO'S ROUTE: THE BIRTH OF IMPERFECTIONS [ DAY 7: BEGIN ]

It had been days since they've seen ALBEDO again.

Now, YESTERDAY is no fool. They spent the past few days assessing orders and making sure they were well taken care of. That was something they weren't going to forget so quickly.

Maybe he forgot his order, they thought, shrugging as they focused on their job.

Though, it was short lived when they heard the familiar chime of the bell at their door, signifying that someone had came in their shop.

"Excuse me," ALBEDO said, adjusting the coat he wore with a nod. "I'm here to receive my order for the flowers."

"Ah, of course! I'll be right there with you," YESTERDAY replied, raising their head to look at him before they looked away to get to the bouquets.

"Let's see, they're... Chrysanthemum and Gerbera Daisies..." they murmured, retrieving the two bouquets and handing it over to the blonde. "Here they are, wrapped and ready. I made sure that these are as fresh as I can get them."

He nodded in response, retrieving the flowers without fuss. Though, he did raise an eyebrow at the arrangement.

Oh, no. Is there an issue in them?

"... How curious," he said, his lips quirking up to a small smile. "I wasn't expecting for you to choose white chrysanthemums. you seem to have some particular tastes in your arrangement."

Oh. It's just the flowers.

"Ah, well... I thought that the meaning fits you, sir," they replied, scratching the back of their neck. "You seem to be the type to be honest, so it would only make sense for me to choose that, no?"

"Perhaps," he nods in agreement, humming. "As for the Gerbera Daisies, I'm quite intrigued. What made you choose these, and in pink as well?"

The florist paused. There was a lot of reasons for them to say why, but that may not be something that he wants to hear. Pondering over his question, they closed their eye to think.

"... Well," they began, pondering over what to say carefully. "I chose these flowers because I want to..."

Many Roads Diverge in the Woods - Second Run - Part Two

Your path has been altered. Strange how such a small choice can change so much. Don't mind me accidentally voting on the poll myself, I tapped on the option while scrolling fhdjkalh So the results are actually even more in the favor of playing video games :)

“Yeah, I’m sure the food situation is fine,” Chase says. “I want to check out the consoles that Jack’s been keeping from us.”

“Hell yeah!” Jackie grins.

Schneep rolls his eyes. “Fine. But if there is no food in the kitchen you will have to drive back to town.”

“Yeah, yeah, I know.” That was the price of being the only friend with a driver’s license. “Look, if something’s up, I’ll stop what I’m doing and head down there. But I doubt it is.” Chase leaves the bedroom, closing the door behind him. “C’mon, let’s go check it out.”

Jackie whoops and hurries to the staircase. Chase follows at a slower pace with Schneep trailing behind him.

Marvin and JJ are already downstairs, sitting on the sofa closest to the window. “Can’t believe it’s already getting dark,” Marvin mutters. “Love the fall, hate the lack of daylight.”

“Ah, Marvin, JJ,” Schneep says. “It is getting close to dinner time. What would you like to eat? There is no guarantee Jack will have stocked the food, but I will ask anyway.”

“You already know my list of foods I like,” Marvin says, shrugging.

I’m fine with whatever you want to make, JJ says. It sounds like we may have limited options.

“We may. I have not checked yet.”

“Hey, do you guys want to check out the PS5 with me and Chase?” Jackie asks.

“Uh, sure, I’ll watch whatever you guys do,” Marvin says.

JJ stands up. I’d rather help Henrik in the kitchen, if you don’t mind.

“Aw, I thought we were making so much progress teaching you the ways of the future!” Chase pretends to look sad.

JJ chuckles. I may join later, don’t worry.

He and Schneep headed into the kitchen while Chase, Jackie and Marvin started setting up the console and checking out what games were on it. “Jesus, does he have every Resident Evil game on here?” Chase mutters. “He does! There’s no way he’s played them all, though, since he straight-up forgot about this cabin until recently.”

“Oo! Oo! Spider-Man!” Jackie says excitedly. “Let’s play that!”

“We should choose something multiple people can play,” Marvin points out.

“Yeah, well, doesn’t look like he has a lot of those,” Chase says. “Look, Monopoly. You want to play Monopoly?”

Marvin makes a face.

“Yeah, that’s what I thought.”

“Good news, everyone!” Schneep reappears in the archway leading to the kitchen. “Everything is full of food. I don’t think we are eager to cook, but JJ found some frozen pizzas in the freezer.”

“Hell yeah,” Jackie says. “How many? What toppings?”

“Well it looks like there is one for each of us, as there are five, one for each of our preferences.”

“Oh cool, I don’t have to pick off toppings!” Marvin says excitedly. “Yeah, let’s do that.”

“The oven is not big enough for all at once, so who can wait?”

“Uh, I’m not that hungry,” Chase says. “And I doubt that Jackie will want to eat right away, since he went straight for the PS5.”

“Hey! ...Well, that’s fair,” Jackie admits.

“Three is fine,” Schneep says, and turns around, going back into the kitchen.

“Sooo what are we playing?” Jackie asks.

“I saw Grand Theft Auto back there, let’s choose that,” Marvin suggests. “It’s always fun to watch even if you’re not playing.”

“Sounds good to me,” Chase says, selecting the game.

They play for about ten minutes, with Chase having primary control while Jackie and Marvin tell him what to do and occasionally try to grab the controller from him. Chase is just about ready to tell the other two to take their turn, if they’re so focused on playing, when—

The screen and lights in the room go dark.

“Aw, what?” Chase presses buttons on the controller as if that can fix it. “Did the power go out?”

Marvin groans. “We were tempting fate earlier when we said we won’t have to go down into the basement.”

Schneep and JJ run into the living room. Did everything go out? JJ asks.

“Looks like it.” Jackie punches his fist. “God damn it! Well, at least we didn’t get far.”

“Jack said the fuse box was in the basement, right?” Marvin recalls. “Schneep, you still have the house keys. Can they open the basement door?”

“I am sure they... oh.” Schneep digs around in his pocket. Then his other one. “Where did they..?”

JJ walks over to a table by the entrance and picks up the keys from there. He looks at Schneep with a raised eyebrow. You didn’t remember where you put them?

“W-well, I am sure one of those can open the basement,” Schneep stammers, embarrassed. “I will, ah, keep an eye on the... the food.” And he disappears back into the kitchen.

Jackie sighs. “Okay then. One of us should stay up here and keep an eye on things. Get everything set back up the moment the power comes on. Chase, are you okay with doing that? You were figuring out the controls faster than I was.”

“Sure, I don’t mind,” Chase agrees. “So who’s going downstairs, then?”

i have a few options for chanukah one shot fics to work on so vote for what u want to see :)

forgot to make the previous poll length 1 week- vote in this one

for more context:

option 1 is pretty much what it sounds like, a one shot of frodo, sam, merry, and pippin celebrating chanukah. i would likely have them just be jewish with no explanation, meaning i wouldn't make an in-universe backstory for chanukah or for why hobbits or these specific hobbits are jewish.

for option 2 i would create an in-universe backstory for chanukah and create numenorean traditions that parallel chanukah traditions but may not be direct copies. the fic can potentially be a story that takes place in numenor focused on a numenorean royal family or OCs, but since i would have to create OCs which i dont like doing it would more likely be presented as an official document or historical record/megillah type thing documenting the backstory and traditions- think the books of Maccabees but Numenorean.

option 3 would be the same as option 2, except the traditions are modified for Gondor since some of the traditions can't be done outside of Numenor. it could be

a) Denethor's family celebrating (either pre or post death of Finduilas, pre, post, or during war, with any combination of family members and maybe guests!)

b) Faramir teaching Eowyn about the traditions

c) document as in option 3 (perhaps the same document but with commentary as to how to celebrate post-destruction of Numenor). the document could be presented on its own or as two people learning it together. ALTERNATIVELY!! chanukah could be a holiday that was invented post-destruction of Numenor entirely, which wouldn't change much in terms of the actual story but it would require a different backstory.

and lastly, option 4 would be a sort of 'pagan' holiday of light that the elves celebrate, fun little story featuring thranduil and legolas, probably would not have many parallels to the actual chanukah story besides featuring light/candles.

options 1 and 4 would be easiest to write but options 2 and 3 might be more,, interesting and meaningful. reblog and lmk ur thoughts!

Asra's upright ending - a person from Kyle's past forces him to have to reconnect to it; giving him the chance to either grow or have his future consumed by it.

Nadia's upright - the sme as Asra's upright but with more of a focus on responsiblity and power of authority, who should rule and why. While Asra's focuses more on familial bounds.

Asra's reversed ending - Being in the magic realm for so long slowly erodeds at who they are leaving them at a crossroads. Bend to the devils magic or become something new at the risk of losing themselves.

Nadia's reversed - having spent so long in the magic realm Kyle has started to disconnect from who he is. An issue that doesn't go away once they've returned to Vesuvia. As he struggles to draw lines between the fool and who he really is. If he even knew who he was after the Lazaret.

Edit: I'd like to point out this is just the start of the route. I.E Kyle's route takes place after their route so you can get upright in Nadia's reversed or double reversed ending. Also I added the summery for each route which I forgot to add originally X3.

WARNINGS FOR: Discussions of Sexual assault of a minor. Rape is a large influence in the plot. Murder, kidnappings, and generally sexism generally focused around the 80s, a bit in the 90s. General ACAB esk behavior, fucking up evidence in a police investigation.

I know Hayley Atwell for some reason. OHHH yeah, right. Okay, warning right off the bat. I'm not a huge fan of her. This might make me biased, but I'm here to see twenty minutes at most of the screen time.

God the 80s were weird, fashion, and social attitude. ETC.

I know we all as the audience know something more is going on here. But going behind your superior's back, on the clock, is still an issue. Especially if she's a rookie. Does she think because her boss was friends with her dad, she can just do whatever she wants?

No, you know what, I kind of agree with Ferguson. Especially if she's just joining cases willy nilly. The chain of commond in policing circles exists for a reason. Are we supposed to recognize that she is the only woman, yeah. Are we supposed to see her branching out as finding justice, yeah. But she's a cop who just got her badge. She shouldn't be working on these cases yet.

This feels like entrapment.

Overall: Not a bad episode. Something I'd never watch if Con wasn't in it. My disdain/dislike of Hayley Atwell does kinda ruin this a bit for me. Again, it's a mix. The cops should have had more empathy with the case, and it's a shame they needed a rookie to act sympathetically to the victim. She had to go behind their back to get it done, which again. There are obvious reasons cops need to jump through so many loopholes. She did something VERY illegal. This isn't justice, this is state-funded vigilantism. I wonder what bullshit she'll get up to in episode 2.

Episode 2:

Babe, you will never, ever be treated as one of the guys. You can work your way up, know them for years, but that will always be a barrier. Getting to know your coworkers is fine, yeah, but damn. Spending your whole life just so a few men respect you sounds like shit.

That's like, a decade time jump, right? Damn. Nvm, maybe she found a comfortable niche.

THOSE TWO FUCKIN? THEY HAD A KID? Good for them. They're cute. I totally didn't see it in Ep 1. I just thought he was being a nice guy helping out the newbie….

Nice for Grandma to do that for them.

Kids need routines babe, if dad makes pancakes, he probably has the stuff. I know cooking isn't everyone's thing but it is like…5 ingredients? Maybe make the meal with your kid and connect? Unless she literally planed to get ready in 20 minutes and kinda forgot she had a kid.

He gave his life to this shit and all they did was promote him up. Now, what does he have? Days filled explaining the law with rich fuckers, and no time to live.

GOD I HATE HER. That judge/lawyer representing the crown is just as much an arm of the law as you are asshole, was it shitty to bring it up like that?

But that's an obvious motive. SHOCKING. But the law is just kind of like that, impersonal and driven only by facts you can prove. Especially toward victims of sexual assault. Putting people away from just vibes alone is dangerous. Our protagonist was acting like this judge was being shitty, she's doing her job. You put a man away for twelve years, regardless of if you think he's guilty, on ruined evidence. He was within his right to have his case investigated further. It wasn't personal.

OH! So you start getting snippy with her in the parking lot then back out of the conversation like a child! YOU'LL STILL NEED TO WORK WITH THIS JUDGE AT SOME POINT YOU IDIOT! YOU FUCKING IDIOT!

Ahhhhh, resting at a hotel room. Nice.

Overall for the episode? I liked her getting her just deserts, but CON WAS BARELY IN IT. He was a smokeshow for his one scene, but…Nah, seeing Haily Atwell get bullied will always fulfill a petty hole within me.

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Con: 11+/10. Look, I love this scraggly little guy. If a Con character can be summarized as *He needs a friend, a fuck, and to realize his life has meaning outside of his work* That will always be a character that I will love. He's tired, he's overworked, he's devoted. He's got it all. I have no notes of criticism beyond 1.) I needed a whole lot more of him. 2.) I needed to see him learn to love life specifically. I get that he's a mirror for our protagonist, what she could become, but god. Seeing it would have been great.

I generally can't stand law series/shows that focus on cops. See my thoughts on Murder City, and yeah. This one isn't great. But Con was so fucking good in this. An angry guy, stressed, trying to keep things in order so they don't get slammed in the press. Is his hesitating to correctly investigate all aspects of the case shittily? Hell yeah! But our protagonist literally had no experience. So. I don't see him as being totally out of his mind. Really fun, I need more. Especially ep 2 Ferguson.

Also, he's hot. Aged like wine, but still, not the man we thirst for today! Highly enjoy it. Especially all the lovely images @dianetastesmetal has given us.

Everyone else: 6-7/10. Again. I'm biased and I acknowledge that. But it was alright. What you'd expect from a cop procedural. Everyone's an asshole or just bound up in so many loopholes they are ineffective.

Story: Definitely intriguing, if the point was for us to hate our protagonist, they did good. I enjoyed seeing her get punished for abusing her position.

Overall: 8/10. I'm not sure I would rewatch it, but I really didn't hate it! Con was good, and for me, his implied arc was almost as interesting as the show itself. A good show about how devoting your life to work is kind of shit. I will be adding this show to the con ranking, so that should be updated soon.

Summary: The reader decides to come up with a bet. Whoever touches the other first loses, as Karl’s love language is physical touch.

Y/N was laying on Karl’s bed as he was streaming Jackbox with Sapnap, George, Dream, Quackity, Badboyhalo, Punz, and Corpse. Their relationship was known to public eye, but yet somehow their relationship wasn’t public. The hardly interacted on social media, never posted about one another. The only time they would see Y/N is when she would be in the background of his streams, or when she brings him food. His fans were all fond other their relationship, and how well they kept it under wraps for 2 years. Karl wasn’t known until last year when he became part of the Mr. Beast crew, so he started to grow some fame. “If there was one thing you could touch for the rest of your life, what would it be?” Karl read the prompt aloud, and giggled loudly when he saw the answer ‘Wattpad for DNF content’ and the other made Karl’s cheeks heat up ‘My s/o.’ Everyone instantly starting assuming it was Karl as he was the only one out of them who had a significant other.

As the fans voted, and the others quickly voted, Karl’s won as it was about DNF and he easily quiplashed Bad. “Bad that was so cheesy.” Sapnap said, and Karl laughed agreeing. “Karl!” Bad said offensively, “If you wasn’t going up against me you totally would’ve voted for that.” Bad said, and Karl scoffed speaking up as everyone agreed with Bad, “I am not that touchy, I can go a long time without touching Y/N.” He said confidently which easily caught the attention of Y/N herself. “Is that so Karl?” She asked him, and Karl froze as he forgot that she was in the room with him. “Why don’t we test that? The first person to touch the other, loses.” She said, and everyone chimed in already starting bets that Karl would lose. “You’re on.” He said, his face visibly red, to Y/N and chat. “Once this stream is over, that’s when it starts.” She said kissing his cheek and walked back to the bed getting comfortable on it. “Oh you are so going to lose dude.” Sapnap said, already laughing at the look of regret on the boys face when he tuned into his stream. “Hey. He might win this.” Corpse said, defending his friend.

Karl smiled thankfully, “Thanks Corpse.” He said, and Corpse just chuckled, “You’re welcome Karl Jacobs.” Now was when Punz spoke up, “You guys are definitely going to end up fucking.” He said and Karl’s now normal face went right back to bright red, “Punz! You can’t say that he’s live!” George quickly said, as Bad spoke up with a ‘Language!’ Dream was trying to catch his breath, “I imagine Karl just being so touch deprived he calls one of us for advice.” He said, in between laughs. Quackity’s laugh ripped through Karl’s headset and Karl looked around confused, “What’s so funny?” He asked, which only made Quackity laugh even harder, “Your love language-” He stopped himself from laughing loudly, “Is physical touch.” He finished, and Karl frowned at this, “You guys have no faith in me.” He whined, and Bad spoke up, “I believe you can do it!” He said sweetly, “Only you and Corpse do.” He mumbled sadly, looking at the camera with a frown. Looking over his eyes widened, “Who made that poll?”

Karl was now embarrassed beyond belief, one of his mods made a poll to see who would win the bet. From what he could tell, he definitely wasn’t winning the poll. “You guys suck.” He mumbled, before everyone soon left the discussion and focused on their game of jackbox. After a long 5 hour stream, Karl sighed and wanted nothing to just lay in Y/N’s arms. Sadly, he couldn’t and it was already killing him. Y/N on the other hand was perfectly fine, mainly because she was asleep on his bed. Shaking his head, running his fingers through his hair he sighed, “This is going to be harder than I thought.” He whined to himself, going to the living room to occupy himself with a movie. Hours had passed and Y/N and Karl were basically edging one another. Y/N took it upon herself to wear his favorite outfit: oversized red sweater, with matching knee high socks. Of course she had stuff on underneath, or so Karl thought. The moment she walked into the living room, his eyes wandered over to her. He instantly gulped, and shifted around uncomfortably as he wanted to grab her thighs.

“You okay Karl?” She asked, and Karl nodded stuttering out an answer, “Y-yeah!” He said too quickly for his liking. Humming, she sat beside Karl, planning to make this entire thing a living hell for him. Karl could not take it anymore, he ran upstairs and into his bedroom quickly calling his friends on discord. “Guys I can not do this. She is teasing me purposely to make so much harder.” He ranted to them, and they all laughed at how easily he would crack. “I know what you can do.” Quackity spoke up, his voice laced with mischief. “What is it?” Karl asked, and Quackity slowly explained, “Make her come to you, and when she finally falls into your trap, punish her.” He said, and the others silently agreed. “How would I do that?” He asked curiously, and now Punz was the one to speak, “Edge her, shit do anything to have her begging for forgiveness.” He said, and Karl thought about it. “Yeah, alright I will.” He said, and the others gave him wishes of good luck.

It was now nearing midnight, and the two still hadn’t interacted with one another physically. It was slowly driving Y/N mad, she didn’t think Karl would last this long, she herself was starting to become touch deprived. Karl was near breaking, but he had to hold himself back, he had to act like it wasn’t bothering him. Both were now sitting, watching Blades of Glory on Karl’s bed. Y/N was still in her little outfit, and Karl kept his attention on the movie and not her. Whining, Y/N looked over at him and pouted, “Fuck you..” she mumbled, as she made her way over to Karl. Karl bit back a smirk as she was crumbling in front of him, she was going to lose. Finally making it to him, she reached over and grabbed his chin, automatically losing once their skins touched. “You lose.” Karl said, and quickly grabbed her hips pulling her onto his lap. “You’ve been teasing me all day. What a bad girl you are.” He said looking down, and he quickly took notice of her lack of undergarments.

Biting his bottom lip, he unbuckled his belt, quickly pulling his pants and underwear down in a blink of an eye. Turning Y/N around, he hoisted her up, aligning his tip to her entrance before he slowly slid her down onto him. Y/N let out a moan at the feeling, and she attempted to rock her hips, but was stopped from his hands. “No baby. You can’t move, you are not allowed to move until I say so, got it?” He said, and Y/N only whimpered in response. Karl didn’t know where this sudden dominate side came from, but he was not complaining. Feeling how tight she was around him, he, himself, had to hold back from thrusting up into her. “Y/N..” He said warningly, when he saw her trying to subtly move her hips. Y/N whined, and bit her bottom lip, “Please Karl..” She whined out, and Karl groaned before he snapped his hips up. A moan erupted from Y/N at the new found pleasure, and she quickly started rocking her hips, as his snapped up to her. “You’re so tight baby.” He whispered sweet nothings into her ear, as he snuck a hand around her as his hand slowly wrapped around her neck. Y/N leaned her head back at this and let out a strangled moan when he added pressure, “I’m so- close.” She said in between moans. Karl suddenly stopped his movements once he heard this, earning a choked sob from Y/N.

“Please, Karl. Please let me cum!” She whined, and Karl hummed as he moved the hand that was wrapped around her neck up to her mouth. Inserting his index and ring finger into her mouth, she quickly sucked on them enjoying it. His other hand snaked around her waist and started toying with her clit. What Eurovision 2021 taught us

1. That a nice, enjoyable show was possible (even if 4 presenters are still too much)

Of course nothing can beat Love Love Peace Peace (even if Ja Ja Ding Dong does its best), but this year's intermissions were very enjoyable.

We expected something flashy and over the top because hey, The Netherlands. Sex, drugs, gays and all that jazz.

But instead Covid surprised us. And then The Netherlands surprised us even more, by making a very enjoyable show, despite the restrictions. My personal favourites were:

The water intermission of the first semi-final. I loved the mixed feelings, how water is both scary and respected, for being such a powerful, unstoppable force.

The rooftop concerts during the final. Social distancing? Sure, no problem, let's make the past winners sing on top of some roofs all over Rotterdam. That was pure genius, I loved it so much.

On the other hand, the presenters were basically all useless. We could've had just two of them instead of four. But hey, at least they weren't as cringy as the three scary ukranians from 2017 or the useless four ladies from Portugal. The true highlights of the show were the intermissions, the guests and especially the songs themselves and this is perfectly good for me.

2. That we can live in a world without boring ass ballads

I’ve never been so proud of the Eurovision public, especially during the second semifinal: that evening was PACKED with ballads. Boring ballad after boring ballad, with just a couple more funny songs in between.

The ballads were all left behind. Even the two Amen. And I love the irony we chose El Diablo and the finnish band for the final, but no Amen. No saints allowed, only the norwegian angel. As it always should be.

And so we had the best final I've seen since I started following Eurovision in 2014. Catchy songs, dance songs, upbeat songs. And power ballads. Yes, ballads can still have a place, but only if they're good.

Because yes, Switzerland and France were good. Very good. Just not as good as the ones the public wanted.

3. That we want Eurovision, not Englishvision

Every year, the same message blasts from all Europeans: send a song in your native language. This show is supposed to make other people from Europe (and the rest of the world) to know more about your own country, to enjoy its rhythm and to listen to something we don't usually hear. So why waste this huge opportunity, to bring a generic song in English?

Because the English song wins. Because we all understand English, so English has more chances.

Flash news: GUESS WHO WON THIS YEAR. No, it’s not the generic English song.

The public has been crystal clear, the final poll is even clearer: the top five includes an italian song, an ukraine song, two french songs and only one english song. We want different styles and rhythms, we want to listen to Europe.

So I want to give my full thank you to:

Albania: amazing song, great voice, wonderful language. Do it again.

Serbia: these ladies are fantastic, their song is great and they sang it in their language so I love them

Switzerland: thank you for leaving English to the side to give us some good french

Spain: the song wasn't as good as Universo, but it was in sexy spanish, so thank you for using it almost every year

Danemark: the song was terrible, but it was in your language and this alone deserves everything

France: I know we all make fun of you for being France, but your language is perfect for songs, so thank you for always using it

Ukraine: take note, Ukraine, because Europe is madly in love with your language and your rhythm

Italy: our language is beautiful, so thank you for delivering every year

While my biggest biases go to:

Greece: a generic pop song with no balkan rhythm and no greek either? An absolute shame, greek should always be used for songs.

Russia: russian language is very melodious and yes, we got something this year, but what about bringing a full russian song? We want it!

Germany: I may sound crazy, but I honestly think german language is good for songs. It's not like the mediterranean languages, but it still works. So please, do not be scared and show what you can do with it!

Scandinavian countries: why do you never want to bring your own language? Do it, don't be scared! Yes, Sweden, I'm talking with you: you still never tried to bring something in swedish, so do it.

4. That we don't want Americans to play with us

For reasons we still have to understand, Flo Rida was competing this year. And he was competing for San Marino, the smallest European country.

I'm pretty sure they took some time to explain to him what was going on, where he was, where San Marino is, wtf was happening, why there were sexy italians and ukranian witches and a norwegian angel and loads of beautiful women everywhere.

And I loved how we all send memes about this, about ahahah why is Flo Rida here, what if San Marino wins where would they host Eurovision, all while enjoying an actual catchy song.

And then, in the end, Flo Rida basically disappeared. Who remembers Flo Rida, when we got Ukraine, Italy, Finland, Iceland, and the UK? And Germany being wholesome? And the love story between Norway and Azerbaijan? We collectively forgot about him and I think it's very sexy from Europe to just say "nope" and push America away, even if for just one week.

And this isn't the first time: we basically showed Madonna in a corner in 2019, thanks to Mans, Eleni, Verka and Conchita. Once again, Europeans knows what they want: we don't want Americans. Australia can because they're like that little brother we took under our wing for no reason and now it's part of us. But not Americans.

The rest of the year is all yours, but one week is ours.

5. That we can lose like bosses

This year, the voting results have been absolutely insane and FOUR COUNTRIES got zero points from the public, while the UK got both zero points from the public AND the jury.

Don't get me wrong, the song was bad. And yes, Brexit played a role in this. And yes, hating England is Europe’s favourite sport.

But can we please all take a moment and appreciate how James Newman reacted? The public gave him a round of applause and he celebrated this achievement like a boss.

And he had all the reasons! He achieved something incredible, he unlocked something that this new voting system was supposed to never lead to. But he did it. So hats off to you, my boy: My Last Breath was better.

Germany is also used to the bottom of the chart, but this year I really thought Jendrik could have a chance to achieve a higher position. The song was funny, carefree, lively, the hand costume was the kind of trash we need and the message was nice as well. But he still got 3 points.

Despite that, Jendrik celebrated like a maniac and seeing his this happy made me happy as well. I really wish him the best.

6. That FUCK YOU JURY

Again, same message every year: the jury vote should be eliminated. It's a fucking farce and their votes have nothing to do with what the public want.

The jury focuses on the voices, except when they don't, and clearly giving points to your neighbours is because you like the song, not because they're your neighbours.

I usually make fun of Greece and Cyprus showing eternal love to each other, by giving 12 points to each other every year, but this time, it sounded even more stupid than usual. It really looked like a farce. Why should we see this farce? Why can't we just choose what the public wants? So at least we would blame ourselves for our shitty musical tastes.

Even if I'm pretty sure we all have great musical tastes. Let's not forget that in 2019 the public's winner was Norway, with a song that mixed english, a catchy rhythm and an amazing part in yoik language. Arcade is good as well, but we cannot deny the norwegian entry was a lot more interesting.

And this year, the public's taste was flawless:

Look at this beauty: italian glam rock, ukranian techno folk, french powerful ballad, finnish hard rock and whatever that thing was with Iceland.

There's variety, there's everything for everyone. And there are native languages. Italian, Ukranian, and French on top three, followed by English.

Moral of the story: the public is great and the jury should be abolished forever.

7. That Ukranian technofolk is all we needed in our lives

I didn’t see enough love for Go_A, so as italian, I think it's my sworn duty to give my appreciation to them and their amazing entry, because this band is awesome and Shum is currently on top of the Spotify top 50 - as it should be, because everyone should listen to it and join this slavic rave party.

I already liked their entry for 2020, Solovey. But I also liked My Last Breath from the UK and Universo from Spain. And this year they brought two of the worst songs. So I was very wary of Go_A.

But Shum is an absolute blast. Katerina Pavlenko's voice is unique and the song is even more, because based on ukranian folklore and traditional dances to summon the spirit of spring. They managed to teach something to all Europe in a three minute song and I think that’s incredibly sexy of them.

And so, I searched for other songs and OMG, I don’t know how it’s possible, but they are all great. Rano-Ranenko, Zhalmenina, Tanula, they all are perfect and I’m in love with this band.

And if all of this is not enough, THEY DID A COVER OF DANCING LASHA TUMBAI. The most iconic Eurovision song, sang by our god Verka. And this is the coolest, most badass cover ever in the whole universe. Please listen to it HERE everyone needs to hear this.

So thank you, Ukraine, for giving us Go_A. We all had a small empty place in our hearts and this place has ben perfectly filled by them.

And yif you think you don’t need ukranian technofolk, is only because you still haven’t listened to it. Please listen and enjoy Shum. You’re welcome.

8. That rock and roll never dies (and Italy’s well deserved victory)

The last time Italy won was in 19-fucking-90. 31 years ago. I was just born.

And now, they finally won again. And what a song! Despite being italian, I've never listened to Maneskin before, but oh damn, this song is good. Not all their songs are, but this one is. And also Morirò da re.

Their show was perfect as well. This post is really eye-opening about how well they put on their show. The use of the stage, the movements, everything has been part of a great performance, even their clothes. Damiano's voice never faltered, despite having an entire continent watching him. They handled the stage like bosses, despite being only in their twenties. And they gave us some good fucking rock.

And so the public said a loud "FUCK YOU" to the jury and chose its winners. The sassy, sexy italians.

And yes, I know that there has been a lot of petty polemics because those youngsters are having drugs!1!! as if they were a bunch of idiots who used drugs on international TV, with their manager sitting next to them.

Of course it was a pointless accusation and honestly I don't care if some people are sore losers. The drug results were negative anyway, what a shocker.

What we should truly think about is how strong the Maneskin's bladders are, because they spent the whole evening of the final drinking the entire alcohol supply of the Eurovision and, at the end, they were still happy and cool. Hats off to you, you sexy people.

This man is just iconic, why did I miss him before.

Also, have some more Maneskin. You know, as a treat.

9. That solidarity and wholesomeness are the biggest winners

It's just beautiful to see these nice people, from all over Europe, bonding, having fun, taking photos together and being friends.

The true winner of this, is probably Norway: Tix wanted to have a good time and he had a good time. The video of him vibing with Ukraine and Germany while listening Hard Rock Hallelujah is the best (HERE). His love story with Efendi from Azerbaijan is even better (please, check the video on his youtube channel, it's hilarious). I don't like his song, but he's a great guy and deserves everything.

The italian and finnish rock relationship is also great. Maneskin and Dark Sides found each other, considering they were the only two rock bands in the competition, so mutual appreciation was inevitable.

But Damiano is also a man of culture and he appreciates Ukraine's entry. And Ukraine appreciates both Finland and Italy. Is this what world peace looks like? Because I love it.

10. That Italians will be Europe's clowns again (and you're all allowed to make fun of us)

Beware, Europe: we Italians are messy and chaotic, our presenters don’t know a single word in English, we are homoerotic AND homophobic at the same time, our musical competitions are so fucking sloooow... let’s say next year’s Eurovision is going to be interesting.

And yes, you’re allowed to make fun of us. We don’t care, we won, so we deserve to be Europe’s clowns once again.

And I don’t know who the presenters will be (my bets are on everyone’s favourites: Fiorello, Amadeus and Malgioglio), I don’t know how we will ridicule ourselves once again, I don’t know where will we find the money to put on the show, I don’t know how ungodly long it will be... but I know that Mans Zelmerlow will be part of it. This man loves Eurovision just like all of us, so I can already see him packing his suitcase and planning his flight to Italy. Come to us, Mans, we will wait for you. We actually need an English presenter, so if you have nothing else to do...

It was held on Twitter between June 16th and June 30th, and we received a ton of votes. Here we’ll tell you the order, as well as share some of the red hot comments they got!

“The Servant of Evil” is the reason I got sucked into AkunoP-sama’s music in the first place.

Allen-kun is the best!

I was really moved by Allen’s kindness at prioritizing Riliane over himself. I think there are probably some people who don’t think he’s kind because he betrayed so many people, but I think “doing it all for the person you want to protect” is itself a different sort of kindness.

Obviously it’s Allen. His words and deeds made me cry my eyes out.

I love how brave he is, and that he was willing to do anything for Riliane’s sake.

He really struck me with how he protected Riliane to the end. I was also about the same age as Allen when I first bought the book, so I was kinda taken in by him being such a naïve young man.

He’s really cool looking!!!

His level of kindness that he devoted himself to his sole blood relative Riliane and ultimately took her place is really amazing…!

He was alright with becoming evil if it was for Riliane’s sake. He did all that for his sister; for Riliane he used his sword to kill people, he can ride a horse, he protected his sister—he’s just really cool!!

What an amazing loyalty he has…Allen supports his sister and the rest!! He’s so awesome, I wanna be like him!!

AkunoP: I rather expected him to be the most popular.

Ichika: Wow, he really was well received.

AkunoP: Unfortunately, he died in the first book, so I wasn’t really able to delve into his character much from the third book onward.

--Rin probably had also moved on from Allen at that point.

AkunoP: I figured things might get pretty dark if I had too many developments that reflected back on the past. I also thought it might not fit with the feel of the third book onwards. However, there’s no way that Rin forgot about Allen, ever. She’s just hesitant to let it show on the outside. And it wouldn’t be all that good for her to show it to anyone, given her position. She’d get found out, lol

--That’s for sure (haha). How about you, Ichika-san?

Ichika: I think he’s sort of like, the most wholehearted character of the main cast. Like coming to help even after he’d already died.

AkunoP: In a certain way, in the latter half he turns into more of a super character than Elluka, lol

--Though she was quite negative, she was able to become a bit more positive through her relationships with Michaela and Rin.

It’s partially because I really like Haku ane-san, but there’s also her earnest devotion to Michaela, her strength for forgiving Riliane despite having every reason to hate her…I’m not Michaela, but you’re the most wonderful person, for me! Especially how cheerful you were after the revolution in “Praefacio of Blue”, Clarith-san!

I want her to be happy

I like seeing her working so hard.

She feels like the only true “everyman”. So I feel like she’s also the character who “grew” the most. Her meeting with Rin at the monastery on the shore was so sad, I was really touched. I think that Riliane was able to reform as Rin because she had Clarith there for her.

Clarith is so precious, being so negative but also caring for her friends!

I wanna try the brioche that Clarith makes!!

I like everything about her!

I admire her for being so strong.

AkunoP: I think she’s the character who grew up the most through the whole series.

Ichika: She grew the most as a person.

AkunoP: I wanted a character who could see the revolution and the events around it from the perspective of the average person. That was how I came up with Clarith. Actually, she’s a character I came up with even earlier than Elluka, around the same time as the early four. So I’ve gotten pretty attached to her.

Ichika: It feels really good to see her progression from a passive personality to someone who takes action for herself. Also, her catchphrase of “I’m sorry for being alive” is way too easy to use. I found myself blurting it out once while I was working.

AkunoP: That was originally inspired by Daizai. So that might be a bit dangerous as a catchphrase, lol

Ichika: I make sure I only say it when I’m alone in my room, so it’s alright, haha.

I really love that scene where she accepts whatever Clarith is going to do to her after Clarith learned the truth, because it shows how much Riliane has grown up over the story.

In this story with so many feelings intersecting, she is such a cool and strong fantasy girl who fought without being swept away!

AkunoP: I was really unsure of her role in this. I think the people who listened to the original song were largely split into two points of view. That she was just bad from the core, or that it was the fault of outside influences... In the end, she wound up how she is now.

Ichika: I think Riliane’s another character whose personality and general air changed completely between the former and latter halves of the story. There is the change in environment from princess to nun, but I think myself that Allen is the biggest influence.

--Riliane is one of the characters who grew up in a big way.

She’s so strong and smart, and a beauty on top of that! She might seem irreverent but she pulls through when it counts, and always winds up helping people. I also think it’s adorable how bad she is at being straightforward with what she wants to say. She’s surrounded by so much mystery and I’m just caught up in it! Ichika: Seriously…!

AkunoP: That’s just ‘cause she’s a character that never showed up in the original song. You could say it was inevitable in a sense that she couldn’t come out before this point, lol, but I think the inverse of that is that it’s because she didn’t show up before that she’s been so easy to work with. She’s such a mature character that through the whole series she’s had a sort of feel to her that she’s always got some leeway.

Ichika: Elluka’s been such a steady character this whole series. She’s been alive for such a long span of time that she’s gotta be very well-put together mentally. I like characters like that, so I had a lot of fun drawing her.

--There are a lot of opinions up there that they like how she always comes around to helping people, aren’t there.

AkunoP: Well, she is a bit on in years…Er, nevermind.

Ichika: She does seem very helpful.

AkunoP: She’s got a lot of things on the inside that I haven’t written about yet, probably owing to being a character with a lot of leeway, but in her case I do think that she’ll have a lot of opportunities to show up elsewhere, so…That’s in production, lol

That he was able to overcome the temptations of a demon a second time, despite knowing a demon’s power and having been reliant on them before, and went out to fight with his own power was just so awesome…!

He may be a troublemaker(?) who inadvertently glosses over his age, but Kyle-niisama really pulled through when it came down to it, and I love him for it!

I feel like he’s the character that gets messed with the most, but I really like him a lot (haha).

My vote goes to the young king who experienced love and hatred, came vast to face with his weakness, and in the end majorly grew up.

He’s so pitiful it’s adorable~ And I think he’s a relatively tasty character!!

No matter how he’s wavered, no matter how he’s tempted by demons, in the end he stood on his own two feet. I just love him for that!!

Ichika: He participated in the revolution, he fell in love, he transformed into a demon…Now that I think on it, he’s a busy guy.

AkunoP: I feel like he’s the character that single-handedly undertakes the idea of “human weakness”. I mean, I don’t think he’s that cool if you look at just his actions, lol.

AkunoP: That’s cause he’s not a hero at all.

Through the work I thought she was a villain the whole time, but after reading Praefacio of Blue I realized that she was actually just a very sad girl. I wish she could have been happy.

The sad end of her life, continuing to be led around by the nose by Prim and a demon, was just tearjerking.
