Congrats on passing 5k followers, you really deserve every one of them!! I'd love to see a little blurb about reader finding out former bf/husband Graves didn't actually die. Whether she was 141, shadows or just a civilian doesn't really matter too much to me, whatever strikes you with the most ideas haha! Thank you! 😁

╰┈➤ ❝ [As it turns out, your husband never really died. It's safe to say you're not overjoyed.] ❞
Tumblr media
You stare at him from the entrance of the door, eye twitching at the bouquet of flowers as the night air settles in.
Phillip’s face is tight with tension.
“C’mon, Sweetheart,” he chuffs a fake laugh through his accent. “Surprise.”
Your lips don’t utter a peep.
The man is worse for wear—his face patched with bandages and his clothes showing the bulk of wrappings underneath. He’d been gone for months; gone from you, your home, your bed. You had thought he had died.
Seeing him here now didn’t have the same effect you thought it would. Your eyes spark with pure rage.
“Hey, now,” Phillip tries to move forward but stops himself when your face contorts into a snarl, blinking quickly and holding up his free hand—your wedding band still wrapped around his finger. No word or calls…does he think you’re just going to forgive him for this? “Don't…don’t be like that, now, Doll. I’m home! How about you let me in and we can talk it all out over some dinner, alright? I’ll do all the cooking, you don’t even worry about it.”
Your body is utterly stone, and his silver tongue won’t work on you this time.
Without a kiss or a word to him, you slam the door right in his face. Locking it deftly, you wash your hands of it and turn on your heel as the pounding on the wood starts up, the delicate calls of your name before the handle is tried and found immobile.
“Sweetheart?!” His voice is muffled as you walk up the stairs to your bedroom—because it was your bedroom now, and it would be until that man knew how to grovel properly. He’s lucky he’s sleeping on the porch and not the street. “I…It’s cold out here, y’know!” A pause before the man hears the echo of a shutting door from far inside. The shadow of his boots shifts. “...I brought you flowers…”
In the early morning, you sneak down, still in pajamas, and your feet bare to the hardwood below you. Padding over, you quietly unlock the door with the intent to peek out to see if your husband is still there.
Peeling the door back just a smidge, you blink at the absence of anyone. For a moment you wonder if it was just a dream, but then you step outside and spot the sleeping figure on the porch swing.
On his back, Phillip rests, your flowers atop his chest like a child as the bend of his elbow covers the man’s eyes to allow him a longer sleep. You bink, sighing long and low as your head shakes.
Walking over, you look down at him as his chest slowly rises and falls—the slight shiver from the early morning chill. You don’t feel back about this; about making sleep outside like a dog. By your accounts it was the least he deserved and, in fact, a very merciful fate.
Looking at his broken body, you shift your gaze away before the pain in your chest comes back. Damn him.
But it’s only when you look back that you notice that his arm has shifted farther up his head—resting now on his hairline as he looks up at you softly.
“M’sorry,” he breathes, face open and lips being bitten for a moment before he looks away from you. Your hands wrap your waist.
There will be no warmth from you—not now.
“You’re going to have to do more than just say that, Phillip Graves.” His blue eyes are heavy with guilt, but he nods nonetheless.
There was a long road to go.

paring: cc!wilbur soot x fem!reader
summary: its your birthday, a day you dread every year due to bad memories, and wilbur manages to change your mindset.
authors note: this has been sitting in my drafts since march and i forgot about it oops. this is completely self indulgent. Ive dreaded my birthday for the past five years because of personal reasons… i thought maybe writing a non-shitty fake birthday would make me feel better so, it did lol. enjoy!! :)
warnings: self indulgent, mentions of childhood trama, negative past events, mentions of toxic family, fluff, Wilbur being the cutest-best boyfriend, hurt-comfort, yes the title is a lyric from a lizzy mcalpine song.. unedited!
Tumblr media
The day had come. the day you dreaded every year for as long as you could remember. it was your birthday.
Most people would be elated about turning another year older, to celebrate but not you. Instead, it filled you with utter disinterest and resentment. To you, it was just another day on the calendar.
Ever since you could remember you’ve just hated your birthday. Each year just felt like they got worse and worse with the number of times You had been let down. Whether it was by family drama or people just forgetting. It was the same every year. So when you finally moved away from your toxic relatives you pretty much forget about it. Only remembering when you'd get a text from your parents to wish you a happy birthday. At least they remembered now that you were gone...
You were relieved when no one at work had brought it up. you never really talked to your coworkers about your personal life, you weren't that type of person. Still, you were grateful the only attention you got today was from one of your peers Matt, asking about the printer in the office not working right.
When you walked into your flat, what you weren’t expecting was too see your boyfriend standing near the door waiting for you.
“why didn’t you tell me it was your birthday?” Wilbur asks in a slightly offended tone.
The front door hasn’t even shut yet and he’s caught you completely off guard with his question. Your heart drops in your stomach.
“hello to you too,” you snort, putting your bag down and sliding your jacket off. "And how'd you even know?" Avoiding the question. Cause that will make this better.
he sighs.
“Answer the question please, love,”
You’re toeing off the uncomfortable shoes you were required to wear at your job as you blankly bink back at him.
You can tell by the frowned expression on his face that he wasn’t just gonna let you drop this anytime soon. His arms are crossed over his sweater, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows as his curls fall around his eyes.
“maybe because it's not a big deal,” you shrugged. Wilbur stops you with a hand on your shoulder before you can escape to your shared room. It wasn't forceful but gentle, his eyes asking you to stay, talk, anything. You just wanted to go to bed and sleep until your shift tomorrow and just forget about this whole day.
"What do you mean by that?" he asks. "I don't particularly like my birthday but still celebrate with friends, family, and loved ones."
There it was.
You wanted to avoid this.
"Look, I don't want to pressure you into talking about this, you can tell me when you're ready. I can tell how uncomfortable you got when I asked you outright why you didn't say anything about it being your birthday, I'm sorry..."
You could tell he was just confused and who could blame him. You had only been dating for about a year and finally moved in together last month. He didn't want to pressure you into anything you weren't ready for, which was one of the many things you adored about him. Always so patient and thoughtful about your feelings and well-being.
There was no avoiding it now as he asked the question. Your heart beating in your ears.
“Why don’t you like your birthday, love?”
“well…” you began, but you could feel the lump in your throat forming as you thought carefully how to put it. You clear your throat and take a deep breath. “I just, have a lot of trauma revolving around today,”
Wilbur has moved slowly towards you now, almost like you were a spooked animal and he was trying to calm you. He listened carefully as you spoke slowly.
“my parents fought a lot growing up, and even on my birthday they just didn’t seem to care, even for one day, so i mostly spent my birthdays alone.”
The look in his eyes says it all. He feels so heartbroken for you. You collapsed into his chest and he wrapped you in his arms, squeezing you firmly and you felt the weight in your chest fading.
"Well listen, I got you your favorite type of cake, a good bottle of wine, not that cheap shit, the really nice one we liked. we're gonna sit on the couch and eat, and you can tell me all about your day." he pauses only to bring your face out from his chest to look you in your eyes. "and then, we're gonna cuddle and I'm gonna tell you how much I love and appreciate you."
With that, he strokes your cheeks with his thumbs and kisses your nose softly. You swear that press of his lips was what made you cave. You began to break down in front of him.
Wilbur's hands seem to be the only thing keeping you upright at the moment. If he wasn't holding you, you were sure you would have fallen to your knees by now. You sob silently as you take his wrists in your hands but don't remove them from your cheeks. The intensity of the long work day and all the recurring memories this day brought you every year, combined with Wilbur's sweet gestures and words made you break.
You felt everything come down on you all at once, yet there Wilbur was, always waiting for you at the end of the day. Always there to comfort you and support you. So these weren’t sad tears no, they were happy tears. Finally, you found someone who cherished you and cared for you enough.

I am TWENTY MINUTES into The Phantom Menace and I am in absolute tears, Qui-Gon Jinn is the funniest person in this entire franchise, he basically doesn’t sense shit about anything hinky on this mission and doesn’t care, he calls the Federation types all a bunch of cowards, he calls Jar Jar Binks brainless and says the ability to speak doesn’t make you intelligent, that man cannot stand that Gungan from the word go, and he is the one who starts bullying Jar Jar to get him to reveal where the Gungan city is, Obi-Wan joining in with the shit your pants level terrifying things that are coming for them that they do to this Gungan, like they are seamless, they have clearly done this before, Qui-Gon has very obviously bullied people and gotten his Padawan to tag-team them with him, then they go to Otoh Gunga and Qui-Gon busts out the Jedi Mind Trick which is reasonable the first time, but then he pauses for a moment, clearly considering, and then is like, well, how about a transport, too? and his delivery on the line had me weeping with laughter because his voice goes up at the end like, oh, well, as long as we’re here....? because he just realized oh he absolutely can fleece these idiots blind, this man has no morals so far, he only brings Jar Jar along with them instead of leaving him to be executed because Jar Jar will be useful, then there’s the trip through the core of the planet where he sits in the back because hell no he’s not sitting next to Jar Jar and he deadass does not engage in any of the conversation in asking more about what happened with Jar Jar, he leaves that entirely up to Obi-Wan, and then Qui-Gon Jinn does not give a single solitary fuck when the Goober fish is eaten, he’s just like, yeah, same shit different day, meanwhile Obi-Wan is in the driver’s seat staring into the middle distance for like a solid five seconds that feels like ten goddamned minutes while he’s questioning every single life choice he has ever made, then Jar Jar keeps freaking out and Qui-Gon uses the Force to calm him and he borderline passes out because that man wanted that Gungan to shut the fuck up and even Obi-Wan is like, “You overdid it”, and I AM ONLY TWENTY MINUTES INTO THIS MOVIE, I AM CRYING, QUI-GON JINN IS THE FUNNIEST PERSON IN THE MOVIES.

After the fight, you hang out on the meadow.
The sun shines through the tree crowns and a gentle breeze blows occasionally. Together you enjoy the peaceful evening and people chat in their little groups. Sanji came with Chopper and Franky and brought dinner for everyone.
The day couldn't be more beautiful.
After dinner, Brook played a song for the group, a song about pirate life. The pirates around you cheered and sang the song with their arms around each other. Although you don't know the lyrics, the cheerful mood makes you swing along and you clap to the beat.
Binks' Sake | Binkusu no Sake ♪♪♪ Yo-hohoho, Yo-hohoho Yo-hohoho, Yo-hohoho Yo-hohoho, Yo-hohoho Yo-hohoho, Yo-hohoho Going to deliver Binks' sake! We are pirates sailing through the sea! The waves are our pillows, The ship our roost Flying the proud skull on our flags and our sails ♪♪♪
You are amazed at how everyone can actually sing along to the song and the lyrics make you curious. After the performance, you watched the sunset together.
I wonder what it's like to be a pirate?
Your father has always made you so curious and the stories he and his crew told you have awakened a longing in you. It made you want to get to know life out there and sail the seas.
And for the first time in years, you feel this longing again, which you had shut off back then.
Why? Well, because you didn't want to sail into a world where people are both dangerous and cruel.
But with the crew before your eyes you are pretty relieved…
They give you hope that not all humans and even pirates are like that. They are not like the people from back then, as they have proven in the last days.
"Princess, what are you thinking about?" Bepo appears in your field of vision and pulls you out of your thoughts. He takes a seat next to you and looks up into the sky you were looking a moment ago. You get out of your position and lean against the furry mink. Your gaze returns to the sky.
"Tell me, Bepo, do you ever miss home?" - "Miss my home? My home is the Polar Tang!" He says proudly and hums a little laugh. His expression is very soft as he watches the passing clouds. He wraps a paw around you and pulls you closer to him and you snuggle up further.
The way you two snuggle together has already become quite normal. Often you've joined Bepo when you've seen him lying in the sun, in the quiet palace garden and together you've looked for funny pictures in the clouds.
"But if you mean the place where I was born, then I can tell you that yes, I miss my old home, but there was an important reason why I left my home island…" Although he lies calm and relaxed with you, you can hear the sadness in his voice. You gently brush against his paw and pat him. You look caringly into his eyes and he returns your gaze.
"But when I'm at sea with my crew, the Heart Pirates, home is everywhere." He covers up his sadness and gives you a little Eskimo kiss on the nose, which you happily return.
"You said that very beautifully." You can't help but hug the mink tightly with your thin arms.
"But why did you come up with that, Princess?" You look up at him with sparkling eyes.
"I've always wanted to leave this island and discover the wonders of the outside world, but my family and friends are here…" You look to the side a little nervously.
You leave out the detail that your grandfather would never let you sail off anyway. Never. Not even if he wasn't the king. But you are also quite uneasy. Because as mentioned, the world out there also has a dark side.
But you're still sure that your curiosity will outweigh this feeling and you would take the risk… if only you were allowed to…
You laugh to yourself a little longingly.
"Hmm, maybe you just haven't found the right reason, that makes you want to break away from your roots." Bepo speaks thoughtfully. You look up at him, a little confused.
A real reason?
This question is written all over your face and the polar bear giggles again.
"Yes. For example, I wanted to find my brother." - "Did you find him?" You look up at him expectantly, but the mink exhales deeply.
"No…" There it is again. That heartbreaking sadness in his soft voice. This feeling goes straight through your chest.
"Not yet." You add to his sentence as you take both of his paws in your small hands and bring them to your forehead. You close your eyes as you feel Bepo bury his cheek in your hair. You whisper a little prayer to yourself and break away from your pose to look into his beady black eyes.
"Your journey just isn't over yet, I firmly believe you'll see him again." You could literally see it in front of your own eyes. Like a distant memory, you could see Bepo embracing his brother. You felt happiness and relief, but maybe it was just your deepest wish that sparked your imagination… Who knows.
"Even as a child I always wanted to see a Sea King, I'd say that's my reason!" Your voice seems so enchanted that a small laugh escapes from the polar bear.
"Nah, that's a weak reason." Your gaze goes up and there stands Shachi who has just casually butted into your conversation. You look at him with a raised eyebrow as he devours a few cookies with relish and offers you one too. You gratefully accept one as he takes a seat in front of you.
"Uh okay. Weak?" Blushing, you look at him questioningly.
"Hey, don't say it like that…" Penguin stands behind him with his hands on his hips, and as he takes a seat next to the cookie devouring man, he pulls his cap over his face.
"Hey, what are you doing?! I was just telling the truth!" Offended, he frees his face and gives the man next to him a dirty look. Penguin, on the other hand, shakes his head.
"HOW you say something is the point!" He declares with his finger raised. Politely, he turns to you with a hand on his chest.
"The princess's reason is not weak… just too easy!" You furrow your eyebrows, just as confused as before.
"Easy?" you look back and forth between the two men.
Then you look up questioningly at Bepo, who shrugs his shoulders and is just as confused by what the two guys are saying.
For a while you watch the back and forth arguing between the two men. Shachi says that it's the same thing, while Penguin desperately preaches about manners. You can't help but laugh. The two of them are just too entertaining, it would be torture for you not to laugh. If you're honest, you weren't even angry about Shachi's choice of words. You were more curious as to why your reason was weak or rather translated; too easy. Penguin's behavior warms your heart and the two in front of you seem like an old married couple.
"Hey what's up with you guys?" You open your eyes, which you had closed because of your laughing fit, and wipe the tears from the corners of your eyes. You look behind the men, who freeze in the middle of their quarrel, to look up at Law.
"Captain!" Bepo shouts happily. "Penguin and Shachi are just arguing about whether the princess's reason is weak or too easy." The men look back and forth from Law to Bepo in total shock. Bepo's words are so out of the blue. He hums a little skeptically and sits down as well. Law tries to understand the whole thing, but can't quite find the context.
Princess-ya's reasons? Weak or too easy?
He has no idea what the situation was before he came along. He was just curious because he heard from afar, how the two guys were arguing and you were laughing at full force.
Law looked into the Mink's beady eyes and made it quite obvious, that he was expecting a better explanation but the Polar Bear didn't get his signals and just grinned happily at him, now that Law was here. (lol llittle fangirl.)
"We've talked about how everyone has their reasons for leaving home, to sail out into the world… And Penguin and Sachi share the same opinion, that my reason isn't really good?" You're still a bit confused yourself, as you don't really know what they mean by that, but at least you can clear things up for Law.
With a raised eyebrow, he nods as he looks over at the men.
"Okay… and what's the reason?" Even though he's facing the men, his eyes are looking at you.
"Sea Kings" you speak a little quietly. You're nervous about what his answer will be.
"Sea Kings?" he repeats your word, clearly surprised.
"Yea Sea Kings…"
"Yeah okay, I agree with those two. That is indeed too easy."
Now, not only Shachi and Penquin are the two who are open mouthed but you and Bepo join in the shock. Law, on the other hand, crosses his arms and grins with his eyes closed.
You shake your head. Now you really want an explanation of what that means. If Law even thinks that, then he has to explain it to you now.
"What does too easy mean?" - "You'll meet a Sea King pretty quickly."
"Oh, okay." - "Your reason is definitely a tourists reason."
You're caught off guard by Law's direct manner and and your eyes blink with confusion, as your jaw dropped open. Law finds your reaction quite funny and decides to tease you some more.
"What do you do when you meet a Sea King? What do you get out of meeting a Sea King and what comes after?" You close your mouth, as you really don't have an answer for Law, and break the eye contact.
"You have the desire to meet a Sea King, but it's not really a reason to leave everything behind…"
You're confused by the whole reason thing. Law asks you things you don't understand.
"Why do I have to need a reason? Can't I see the journey as a reason?" To your confusion, the black haired man just grins at you and adjusts his hat a little. When his eyes look into yours again, you are slightly startled. His gaze goes right through you.
"Of course." His agreeing makes you study him closely, you can't figure out his true thoughts.
"Not everyone needs a good reason to sail the world, but you do, since you have a reason to stay." He looks at you as if he has read you like an open book.
Perhaps he already knows you too well, as you have spent a lot of time together in the past few days. But you can't get a single word past your lips. Law is visibly amused by your speechlessness, as you're usually a pretty talkative person.
"You have to understand that people either have a reason to leave, or to stay. You may want to see a Sea King, but that's not reason enough to leave; what's your reason for staying Princess-ya?" Slowly you follow the riddle that Law speaks and see his message.
"My family." you answer him absently.
"See… so "Sea King" isn't exactly a good reason, because it's not enough for you to drop the reason why you're staying." Law raises his arms a little as if presenting the answer that is becoming clearer to you.
"Woah that makes so much sense it hurts." Exhausted, you let yourself fall backwards into Bepo's arm. He gently pats your head.
You do realize that you don't have enough reasons to leave your homeland. You have wishes, but you know that not all of them will come true.
Basically, Law just wanted to show you that it's okay to have a reason to stay. You may not realize that many of the people here have led lives that are far from your imagination and that they had no reason to stay… but he's not sure if you understood it that way. He just doesn't want to go into it any further.
And as Law feared, you didn't take it that way.
As you all make your way back to the castle, you think hard about Law's words.
You want to discover the world, but you're a little scared. If you leave, what will happen to your people? What if they get attacked again? You have a great responsibility in this country and don't have the luxury of living out your desires.
Your duties. That is the reason why you stay.
You are envious that you don't have the privilege of choosing over your own life. Your life has been prophesized, carved into stone and tattooed on your skin.
Your life has been lived thousands of times and you are destined to begin and end your life here.
Your heart is heavy but you are proud to be the priestess of Tanata, if it weren't for the desire.
Tumblr media
It's hard not to notice that your thoughts are elsewhere. You sip your tea absently while your grandfather and Delia talk about the current situation.
Grandfather had urged you to have a cup of tea with the family again, as most of your attention has been on the guests over the last few days, but the family shouldn't be neglected. You were a little annoyed.
If family is so important to him, why didn't he come and tell you in person?
[Yesterday]
When you came back to the castle, you went straight to your bedchamber... You just wanted to be alone and think about everything your pirate friends had told you.
You didn't even pay your grandfather a visit in his study, nor did you have your afternoon tea with Delia. These are things that are completely normal for you and your king noticed this unusual behavior immediately. He sent his butler that same evening to deliver "the king's words" to you. He wants to see you at tea tomorrow and you realize, that it's more of an order than a request.
Only ONCE did I not follow my routine and I was immediately addressed… Ughhh how annoying!
You angrily threw your pillows at the door that the butler had closed.
You're tired of doing the same thing every day and if it doesn't go the way you're supposed to, it's immediately pointed out.
Your whole life is planned. You already know what will happen in the future and even your funeral is already planned.
You will be buried next to all the priests, who were once the bearers of the devil's fruit. You have a statue that resembles you and the people of your generation will pray at your grave, when you pass away one day.
It makes you sad. You won't even be buried in the cemetery of the royal family... You won't lie next to your mother and father or get married... You are not your own person. You are just the holy child of the devil's fruit.
Your thoughts are running wild. The reason to stay is your destiny but your reason to leave is freedom…
But you are not sure if you are allowed to be free. You lack nothing here and you have everything one could dream of… You keep telling yourself that.
You pull your legs towards you and bawl your eyes out on your knees. But a twisted smile crosses your depressed face.
"I should be ashamed of myself." You know it's your duty and you're ashamed of your own desires.
[Present]
Absently you look into the distance, your gaze as empty as your heart. Your thoughts dance the tango and the sides inside you argue about which path is the right one.
Your grandfather can't help but notice how you struggle with yourself, but he doesn't speak to you. He knows that if you want to talk, you will come to him. Forcing or pushing you to do something is never a good idea.
What an irony.
Because he is very aware of the weight on your shoulders. The expectation you have to fulfill… in the last week it has become clear that you have different feelings about your life. But he won't let you go, not because you have to stay. He can't let you go.
"Hey my angel, you're not saying a word today. Did something happen?" Delia brushes a strand of hair out of your face while she looks for the color in your eyes.
You feel like a stranger in your heart and exhale a little heavily.
"Not really."
Delia looks over at your grandfather, hoping for support, but he just watches quietly.
The table is filled with the most delicious pastries and food. All your wishes are always fulfilled without you having to do anything. Your life is so full that it makes you incomplete.
Do this, do that. Don't do this and don't do that. Be kind and friendly. Be elegant but smart. Be dignified but cunning. Be the most beautiful but the purest.
Love everyone but let no one alone own your heart. Sacrifice yourself but never die.
You are supposed to be so much and to your surprise you have always listened and obeyed. You fulfilled and even exceeded all expectations. You are holy.
But you are so much that you don't recognize your true face when you look in the mirror. Through your new friends you were able to realize that you are more than the praised child.
You are y/n. You don't want to be a princess or a priestess. You don't want to do the same thing every day. But you also don't want to leave anyone behind, neglect your duties and leave people who still mean the world to you without protection. You don't want to betray the gods, especially not after they've given you a chance. You don't want to disappoint anyone.
So is this the price you have to pay?
You are aware of what your heart longs for but you are stuck in some sort of identity crisis.
You can't have it both ways.

A/N: Hey babes! I wanted to talk to you about something. I'm always happy when you guys want to know when I'm posting the next chapter. Seriously! I feel so honored that I want to shower you with kisses. I would love to post several times a week but unfortunately I'm an adult (silent weeping). Yes I know I'm not the only one of course lol but I'm studying and working 30 hours a week on the side. I'm a tired bitch XD Feel free to keep asking me when I'll post again ♡, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm a bit busy. Normally I try to post once a week but the blockade is messing it up even more >:( Oh no, writer's block? Yupp and I hate it! let me explain; I'm currently near the end of the first arc and even though I have so many ideas, I'm having a hard time letting my imagination run wild. I hate it. There's still some info to wrap up but when I read my drafts I don't feel like writing anymore... I'm dying to get started but the Tanata arc is our prequel and unfortunately it's a bit dry. Dry is fine, but only for wine. How many arcs are planned, you're probably wondering; Well, I don't have a real ending in mind yet, I'm enjoying the process and developing more and more new ideas to keep the story alive. At the moment we are in the "Tanata arc", after that I already have rough ideas for 2 more arcs planned. The second arc is called "Polar Tang arc" and the third "Dress Rosa arc" In fact, I'm sticking to the original storyline of One Piece but creating an alternative version. I know there's always the fear that the author of the story you like, will cancel the story but believe me… I'm just as excited about what's going to happen like u are. lol, like I'm not the author XD I have some pretty dramatic stuff planned and I would love to do a timeskip but unfortunately I have to finish the Tanata arc. We can't look into the future if we don't live the present as my mom would say. Ughhh.
See you next time, kiss kiss ♡

Okay.
Is my dashboard going to be mostly OPLA these days? Maybe?
I just can’t get over the fact of what an incredible job they’ve made with the live action!! Some changes are good, others really make me question their decision, but other than that I can’t get over THE AMOUNT OF DETAILS they’ve put in this show.
- Binks Sake song at the background when Shanks was on the bar.
- The way they added the melodies on the characters from the anime’s wanted posters.
-I don’t know why, but I got excited when I saw the Den Den Mushis.
- THEY’RE MANNERISM!! When I see this actor I REALLY see the strawhats come to life. The casting was SO FUCKING GOOD. (Though I’m still questioning Shanks but that’s because of recents events from the manga; let’s face it, when you realize he’s god you can’t unsee that image).
- They way I hate that fucking clown with the SAME PASSION.
- THE WAY ZORO GOT LOST 😂😂 TWICE! It’s such a nice little detail but it’s ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING FOR HIS CHARACTER!
- The fact they added the secondary story line (how Koby got into Garps ship) from the covers of the manga!
And I think the most important thing is that I’ve been enjoying this journey with the same smile I did when I first saw this airheads set sail when I was a kid. I still have two episodes left, but IT DOESN’T MATTER! I still declare this as a GREAT adaptation from the anime. AND THIS WAS PROBABLY THE MOST DIFFICULT TO ADAPT.
Since the beginning, One Piece has been a nutshell, it was chaotic and absolutely ridiculous, but that was the point, it was so ridiculous it was funny, and the values they first gave are untouched and for that I’m so grateful.
Just my congratulations to the whole crew of the live action. You guys made a great job. 👏🏼👏🏼
Edit: im on last chapter now, Koby, my dude, shut up. You were annoying when you started, and they kept you that way, now stfu and let the adults talk.

🔅⚔️The Smile of a Thousand suns⚔️🔅
Zolu Fanfic (Zoro X Luffy)
🎶🗡️Chapter 5: Zoro, Zoro, Zoro and The Sandai Kitestsu 🗡️🎶
“ZORO!” Luffy yelled at the top of his lungs.
It was early morning. So early in fact the sun was yet to rise - well… that wasn’t exactly true. The air was sharp as it danced through the gaps of the cabin doors and prison cell bars. The two marines on guard had left to let the two sleep, although two night shift marines had been stationed outside.
“ZORO WAKE UP!” Luffy belted. It wasn’t a yell of fear or anger - it was one of enthusiasm?
“SHUT IT WILL YOU!” One of the marines stationed outside yelled as he opened the door and scowled at luffy. In reply Luffy made a face back which pissed off the marine enough for him to slam the door shut.
“What’s all the yelling for?” Zoro groaned as he was disturbed.
“Zoro! Zoro! Zoro!” Luffy beamed loudly as he crouched down to zoros level
“What’s wrong? Why were you yelling?”
“Well I wanted you up!”
“Why? What time even is it?”
Luffy stood back up and looked over to the door.
“Well from what I saw just now it seems super early.” He nodded. “The sky was dark and cold outside.”
“If it’s that early why the hell did you wake me up!?” Zoro growled.
“Like I said - I want you up.” Luffy said bluntly.
“What for? Can’t you just go back to sleep?”
“Nope!” Luffy smiled before looking straight ahead.
Zoro groaned before flopping his body on the floor. Stupid Luffy.
The raven haired boy took a deep breath in before he started singing ever so loudly.
Luffy liked to sing a lot - although the question on weather or not it was very good was debatable. Zoro did enjoy the happiness that emanated from luffy when he sang weather it was Bink’s brew or some silly song he made up with chopper - the smile that would appear on his captains face was one of magic.
In awe, zoro couldn’t help but look up at Luffy, standing so proud as he sang so loudly.
“Do you mind?” Zoro smirked as he stood up as well.
“They can’t execute us if they’re all exhausted!” Luffy laughed so brightly. That wasn’t exactly how it worked but pissing of the marines In anyway they could made zoro smile too.
And so, the strong swordsman joined in. If this was going to be his last night alive he better make it a good one.
For hours, the two sang and danced - although separated, they we’re together.
It was magical.
All of sudden, the door to the prison slammed open
“I TOLD YOU TO SHUT UP!” The Same marine from earlier snapped before storming inside and pointing the shotgun at luffy.
“Yeah I know I heard you the first time - no need to shout.” Luffy grinned. The marine gritted his teeth before sharply aiming the gun at luffys thigh and shooting.
In response, Luffy slapped his hands to his leg where he had been shot. He stumbled back and let out a pained scream.
“I-I didn’t think you were gonna actually do it! Luffy cried out.
“Heh- that’ll teach you to shut up.” The Marine smiled at himself.”
“Tch~ yeah okay.” Luffy rolled his eyes before he pulled his hands away from his thigh, causing the bullet to be shot back and at the marine - right in his leg too. The marine let out a scream filled with both pain and anger. He dropped his gun before grabbing his leg.
“I can’t wait till they kill you.” The marine stammered.
“You really think they could even put a scratch on me?” Luffy laughed with confidence. Zoro reached down and grabbed the gun.
“What’s going on in here-“ another marine burst through into the prison quarters.
“Get out - or I’ll shoot.” Zoro threatened, aiming the gun at the marine who had just run in.
“Do you even know how to use that thing?” Luffy asked.
Without warning, zoro shot the gun, the bullet hitting the door, even the sound was enough to make the marines shudder.
“Did you mean to do that?” Luffy tilted his head.
“O-OF COURSE DUMBASS!” Zoro growled.
The marines quivered in fear before scrambling out of the prison quarters and slamming the door shut. Luffy let out a tremendous laugh before falling to the floor with a big smile on his face.
“What’s so funny?”
“They looked so scared haha! I wonder what they’re faces will be once we break out!” Luffy cackled.
“You got a plan to break out?” Zoro asked as he leaned the gun against the back wall before Sitting down.
Luffy looked down before pressing the soles of his sandals together. He presses his lips together before his eyes shifted to his first crew mate.
“I havnty exactly thought of one yet…” he admitted.
“I mean, I am always the one to get you out of trouble.” Zoro smiled to himself. Luffy opened his mouth as if to objects but the more he thought about it - zoro was right.
“I thought once they drag us off the ship that’s when we’d make our escape- you know how we always do.” Luffy nodded
“I know one of the marines has my swords - I’ll need them to get you free.”
“What so I’m just supposed stay like this while I wait?!”
“You better not complain- or you’re gonna stay like that-“ zoro growled playfully.
“Oh you’d like that huh!?” Luffy pouted
Zoro’s face flushed with red. It was obvious Luffy has energy to burn and it seemed the only way he could let it out was by teasing and pestering.
“You think of I ask the marines nicely they’ll take this sea prism stone off me?” Luffy pondered starting to sway side to side.
“You basically just shot one them in the leg…when then come to drag us out of here I’m sure they’ll shove you in some sort of cage.”
“Well you better stop them!”
“Maybe I will, maybe I won’t.”
“YOU WILL! THATS AN ORDER!”
The two continued to chat away - talking non stop as the sun rose outside. Their laughter was so loud I it disturbed the marines for the rest of the morning.
Sat next to each other as close as they could, Luffy and zoro were lost in each others conversations to pass the time.
“Luffy? Your leg?” Zoro noticed a deep bruise where luffy had been shot, only being revealed by the small tear in his shorts.
“Huh?” Luffys expression dropped to a confused one - although he quickly found what had caught Zoros attention. The raven haired boy looked intently at the deep mark - he hadn’t seen bruises like that in so long…
“Times up you two!” A booming voice yelled before the prison quarters door was slammed open again - honestly this door was taking quite a beating. It was the head of the marine fleet. He was a large guy, his face was obscured by his hat, like the other captains or admirals the two had encountered before, he wore a large coat although his physical appearance wasn’t anything too special.
Luffy’s head flicked up as he was startled, zoro got up and grabbed the gun that was next to him before aiming it.
“You touch him and you’re dead.” Zoro threatened. In seconds, the head of the fleet reached into zoro’s cell, grabbing the gun before yanking is back, slamming zoro against the prison bars. Luffy jumped up and gritted his teeth in anger.
“You’ve been such a pain in our ass - your send off will truly be satisfying!” The large man bellowed. Zoro stumbled back, holding his head. He could feel luffys worried eyes starting at him.
Luffy was about to bite back but zoro’s intimidating glare back was enough to shut him up.
The head of the marines fleet called in a group of marine soldiers and ordered them to escort the two off the ship. The marines did as they told, unlocking the cells and grabbing both Luffy and zoro, with two marines either side.
“Wow you guys look exhausted.” Luffy pouted.
“Get him out of here.” The head of the ship growled. The marine soldiers shared the same annoyed expression before Luffy was dragged out onto the ships deck. “Hey! Let go of me! I can walk by myself you know!” Zoro could hear his captain complain from outside.
“Heh…that brat has no idea what he’s got himself into.” The large imposing man grinned.
“You won’t kill him and I will make sure you regret you even tried.” Zoro snarled as the marines beside him held him back from lunging.
“We won’t kill him just yet - we have to make him suffer first.”
“I request just one thing as a final wish.”
“Catching on I see haha!”
“If I must die first - kill me with my own sword.” Zoro bowed.
There was one sword he had in mind. If he were to die here, if he were to fail the only blade he’d accept dying by here…
Was the Sandai Kitestsu.

What is your stance on one piece?
I really need to catch up, lol. I was in the middle of the Big Mom arc when the manga pirate site I used shut down and I haven't found a new one yet. Granted that my brother has all of the volumes up-to-date so I can just grab those, but still ya'now?
Seriously tho', I like it and I highly recommend it, however I'd suggest the manga before the anime if only because it's so long and I feel like reading would take less time than watching all 1000+ episodes. Once u get caught up via the manga then the anime is a good way to enjoy it, maybe even go back and watch ur fav arcs from the manga (like I did with Thriller Bark just to get to the Bink's Sake scene). The movies are also a good way to enjoy them while catching up, tho' there might be some spoilers so it'd be best to ask a friend where it'd be in the timeline (even though the movies are mostly non-canon, there's still crew members to be spoiled on).
I just hope that Oda is able to finish the series before he dies since after the death of the Berserk author, that's a real possibility that many of us never thought would happen. Oda said he's getting to the end but who knows how true that is.

Of Light and Darkness: Phantom in the Dark 2
Tumblr media
Pairing: Obi Wan Kenobi X Reader
WARNINGS!:  DARTH MAUL (A warning in and of himself), Death, injuries, loss and sadness. AAANNNNGGGSSSTTT!!!!!  Ok we all know what’s coming but it’s still gonna hurt!
A/N: I don’t own any rights to the story or characters in Cannon Star Wars.  There are a few portions of the dialogue within this chapter.  This is a Loving tribute and work of Fan fiction, with a few tweaks and twists of my own!  If you haven’t ever read the novelization there’s a few things that I tossed in there, highly recommend the read.  As a kid I thought that the Baddies were more greedy than evil, but after reading a little and watching clone wars I tweaked this to fit more how I thought it should go.  Hope you all enjoy!
PS- This is gonna be VERY picture heavy, because I'm not always confident in my ability to write without giving a visual. Sorry....

MASTERLIST Next Part (3)
Upon jumping out of hyperspace it became apparent that the blockade was over with only one control ship remaining in orbit.  None the less your craft was surely detected and time was precious.  That the Nubian cruiser landed on the planet in one piece completely solidified your opinion that this was indeed a trap.  Queen Amidala seemed to have a plan in mind to garner support and possibly an army from the neighboring Gungans.  Enlisting the help of the exuberant Jar Jar Binks your small force was to make their way to the underwater capitol Otoh Gunga.  Having found the city deserted Jar Jar surmised that the Gungan populace had probably sought refuge in their sacred temple.
You made plainly clear that you didn’t like the idea of dragging a child into a warzone to Master Qui Gon.  Unfortunately, there really wasn’t anywhere safe to put Anakin till this blew over.  He was a spitfire though. Having reunited with his friend Padme he insisted that he could help her protect the Queen.  Not wanting to give away the surprise you kept your big mouth shut and smirking.
It was during the negotiations with the Gungan leadership that Queen Padme Amidala finally dropped her façade.  You and the men knew of course, but you still had to give credit where it was due.  Padme had managed to avoid capture and assassination from this well played deception.  Not only was she resourceful, but humble and brave.
She made an impassioned speech before Boss Nass and his council, stating that though the two did not always see eye to eye the two groups would always be united by the planet they called home.  Humbling herself before them, Queen Padme begged the Gungans help to save her people and their shared planet.  It was this act of faith that sealed the pact with the Gungans, even though it was likely that many of them would be killed in this little war.
After the recon team returned from Theed and the last of the strategy had been completed you stepped away to clear your head.  Obi Wan was needed to help work with the pilots, but you needed to think away from the cacophony of preparation.  Taking a stroll into the woods a ways, you found a clearing.  Naboo was a beautiful, vibrant world so teeming with life.  You sat meditating for a long while, til small footsteps approached you.  “Miss Y/n?”
“Yes Anakin?”  you kept your eyes closed, not moving.
“Um … can I sit with you for a while?” His voice seemed tired for a youngling.
Opening your eyes, you studied him.  It was clear that he was anxious, but about what was the question.  Patting the grass next to you, he took the offered spot.  Looking at how you sat he tried his best to imitate.  You had to straighten him out a little though.
“Here, chin up. Head tall, no slouching.  Master Windu always says that the better the posture the sharper the mind.  Just breathe and listen to what’s around you.”
“All I here are speeders and animals dragging things?”  Anakin's small face was scrunched in concentration.
Laughing a little, knowing that you were going directly against your own Master’s directive, you thought how best to put it.  “Try…filtering it?  Listen beyond to what’s going on in the woods.  Then hold onto that and just breathe, kind of let go of everything?”
Obi Wan had finally apologized to Master Qui Gon about his attitude of late towards the boy.  You had caught him earlier doing a slight of hand trick causing Anakin to laugh.  Once he had gotten past his initial dislike and territorialism Obi Wan had actually found that Anakin wasn’t so bad as he thought.  The boy couldn’t help that he had gotten attached to Qui Gon, or that the Master had become fond of the boy as well.  Anakin was a sweet kid and very easy to like.
“Now feel for something warm like…a blanket on a cold night.”  Looking at Anakin’s face again you could see the calm settle over it.  “Good job buddy.  Why don’t you keep practicing, I’ll send Master Qui Gon over, Huh?”
Peeking one eye open, he smiled, “Ok!  Thank you, Miss Y/N!”
“You can just call me Y/N, Ok Ani-Man?”  The boy smiled brightly and you set off to find the Master in question.  As it would happen he wasn’t too far off.
Tumblr media
Qui Gon Jinn had been a Jedi Master and instructor for many cycles and had the opportunity to watch others as they taught.  Some had patience, some were strict, and some were just naturally in tune with children.  His own apprentice he could see one day being a wise and patient master.  You he saw as more of a guide, working with students and letting them lead, but also letting them learn from failure.  Both you and Obi Wan complimented each other in those respects.
Qui Gon did worry about the bond that the two young Jedi had with each other.  Not for a second did he believe that either of you wouldn’t uphold the spirit of your vows as Jedi or let it interfere with your duties.  No, his concern was that one of you may be lost one day, and that the other would face what he had.  Together though you and Obi Wan were perfectly paired.  He never told Obi Wan that he knew about the relationship, giving that small piece of privacy.  He suspected that Mace was unaware, or the two of you would have been separated immediately.  Stepping out of the shadows he called out.  “Y/n, have you seen Anakin?”
“Oh Master Qui Gon!  Yeah, he’s meditating over by the pond.  Did you need something?”  You were not expecting him to pop out of the blue, normally being able to sense those around you far sooner.
“Actually, I hoping for a word with you.  I’m sorry that you got pulled into all this.”  Qui Gon looked sadly at you.  There were days that your youth was dimmed and the toll of life was evident within your eyes.  Today he could well see the map of every battle in your past and felt the apprehension within you, it well matched his own.
“I feel that it’s less anything you did and more Master Windu testing me yet again.” Your eyes rolled, but there was no spite in the statement. Disagree though you often did, you cared deeply for your Master.
“Just the same.  I did want to ask, do you believe this to be a foolish venture?” Qui Gon folded his arms leaning against the nearest tree.
“Freeing a people from oppression and pain is never foolish.” You said with ease and confidence.  “I do however feel that going into occupied territory, in broad daylight, in large numbers… that might be a little foolhardy.”
Qui Gon chuckled a little under his breath.  “Well, I can’t argue that wisdom.  Unfortunately, time is not on our side this time my young friend.”
“Is it ever?” You sighed gazing out as if to see a portent of the events to come.
“No, I suppose it’s not.”  Smiling he turned towards Anakin, who by now was fast asleep having meditated too deeply.  The boy’s future was in the air as much as any of theirs.  While Qui Gon knew that Obi Wan was now more amicable towards Anakin, you had developed a small friendship with him as well.  “Y/n?”
“Yes Master Qui Gon?” you quirked your brow up, turning to face the older Jedi better.
There was an odd tone in his voice, one you weren’t used too.  Cocking your head to the side you looked at Master Qui Gon, really studying him.  He seemed far too tired; stressed from the mission and the Council’s decision regarding Anakin’s training.  In a way he appeared to have aged rapidly in the last few days.
“I need you to promise me something.”  He saw you nod in acknowledgement, though he also saw the suspicious look in your eyes.  Smiling a bit to himself he thought about what Melri would have thought of all this, knowing that this was similar in action to the path she had put he and Mace on years ago.  “Keep an eye on them for me.”
“Two, if I can.”  You winked at him.  Your face grew serious then. "Is everything alright Master?”
He tried to relax his expression, smiling confidently at you despite his own wariness.  He knew that you too sensed something was amiss.  “Everything will be fine.  I think Obi Wan was looking for you though.”
Again, you had kept your expression a schooled neutral, though Qui Gon noticed a very small blip in your signature.  He often wondered if maybe he noticed these small nuances because he had spent so much time with you and perhaps Mace hadn’t?  Taking a few steps forward he gave you a genuine smile and your shoulder a gentle nudge in the direction he knew you wanted to follow.    Perhaps you and Obi Wan would avoid the pain of loss.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
The two small assault forces infiltrated the capitol of Theed with little trouble.  While the second group, led by Captain Panaka, distracted the plaza guards the other went for the main hanger.  That’s where all farking hell broke loose between a platoon of droids raining blaster fire down on you and trying to get the pilots to their ships and away.  As the fight intensified you had seen Anakin duck into one of the fighters.  As the joint assault force finally took out the last of the droids, the hanger seemed secure for the moment.
“Your Highness are you alright.” You asked the young woman from across the bay.
“Yes, thank you.  My guess is that the Viceroy is in the throne room.”  She straightened an errand hair, checking her blaster.
“I agree,” Master Qui Gon was already scanning the bay for anything out of place.  Seeing Anakin trying to get out of the fighter eager to rejoin you all he raised a hand.  “No Ani, you stay there, stay right where you are.”
“But I…” Anakin was cut short.
“Stay in that cockpit.”  Qui Gon’s voice was firm, it was the end of the discussion.
“Don’t worry Ani-Man, we’ll be back in no time.  But keep your head low, Ok?” You shouted to the young man before making your way to the end of the bay, giving him a small smile.  He’d be ok, you hoped.  If nothing else the ship provided ample cover and concealment.
Your lightsaber was tucked into your boot, out of sight but within reach.  You had opted instead to use a blaster like the others so as to not look out of place.  Suddenly you felt something, something cold.  It was as if you had been dropped in a vat of liquid nitrogen, the hairs on your neck stood straight up.  Grabbing young Padme, you pulled her back… from what you weren’t sure.  She looked at you startled, “Y/n what are you…”
The bay doors opened revealing not a man, but a monster of legend.  The dark figure dropped his cloak, revealing a head of black and red markings crowned by jaundiced horns.  The eyes of the creature though, they glowed yellow like the fires from the depths of Perdition.  Like many others as a youngling you’d heard the stories of the Sith, had a few nightmares about them too.  But none of that compared to the sight in front of you.  Stepping between Padme and this creature your first instinct was to grab for your blade.
“We’ll handle this,” Master Qui Gon and Obi Wan had already moved to engage.  Nodding to them you understood that your job was now to stay with the Queen and end the fighting on the planet.  Giving both of them a glance you sent them a final wish.  “May the Force be with you.”
Padme had already switched gears, “We’ll take the long way.”
Heading through the maze of hallways and up a grand staircase the group was soon overtaken by a squad of battle droids.  Split down the middle of the hall you were all taking heavy fire.  Looking around there wasn’t any real cover, just exposed tall windows.  You looked to the Captain, “Any way we can bypass those stairs?”
Panaka nodded his head then blasted the window closest. “One.”
A six-flight ascent by grappling, and yet another blasted window later you were within reach of the objective.  However, a detachment of destroyer droids and the Viceroy had other plans.  After being captured you were brought before Viceroy Nute Gunray and his second in command Rune Haako in the throne room.  Haako sneered at the Queen, raising a hand to strike her.  Knowing there was no time to block the blow properly you moved between the two, taking the hit instead.  It was made with enough force that you were knocked back onto the floor.
Haako laughed, smiling at his own cruelty, “You should teach your handmaid some restraint.”
“Rune there will be time for that later.  Your little insurrection is at an end your Highness.  Time for you to sign the treaty and end this pointless debate in the Senate.”  Gunray was pacing on the opposite side of the ring of chairs.  Haako was still towering over both you and Padme.
“Maybe we shouldn’t kill them after all.  Both would bring a fair price on the slave markets.”  He ran a lascivious finger down the young Queen’s arm.  To Padme’s credit if looks could kill, Haako would have been an ashen pile on the floor.
The Nemoidian was already counting his credits, judging by the look he was giving all of you.  Captain Panaka had helped you back to your feet, offering you a sleeve to wipe the blood from your lip.  The droids had taken all the blasters but had failed to find your saber.  Placing yourself again between the Queen and harm, you swatted away Haako’s hand.  He raised his arm once more to strike you, but was interrupted by a commotion in the hall.
“VICEROY!!!”
Gunray and Haako looked down the hallway shocked at seeing what appeared to be the Queen in her full garb, armed guards in tow.
“YOUR REIGN OF TERROR IS AT AN END!”  Sabe blasted a few of the droids for effect. Her group then dashed down an opposite hall.
Viceroy Gunray wasn’t silent for long, gesturing wildly. “AFTER HER!  This one’s a decoy!”
As some of the droids marched out Padme used the distraction to perfection.  Retrieving a set of small blasters hidden in her throne, she tossed one to the good captain.  Running forward you went into a slide under the remaining droids as they tried to blast you.  Rising with your blade in hand you sliced through the clattering machines.  You turned again, pressing the control panel on the wall bringing down the doors, effectively locking everyone in.  The Nemoidians were stunned, but weren’t about to surrender yet.  Padme turned to the two jaw set, “And now Viceroy, we will discuss a new treaty.  This is the end of your occupation here.”
Gunray scoffed haughtily, “Don’t be absurd.  There are too few of you, even with a Jedi.  It won’t be long before hundreds of destroyer droids break into this room and rescue us.”
At that moment you doubled over in agony, the feeling one you had only experienced once before.  It wasn’t an injury to you, but as if someone dear to you had been.  It was soon followed by another wave of both sorrow and anger.  The Force itself was rippling from the shockwaves.  You recovered as quickly as you could, knowing that the enemy would look for any opening to make an escape attempt.  Re leveling your saber at the Viceroy and his man you glared and stood your ground.
Haako sneered, “Our Lord's plaything has finished your friends, and soon he will finish you all.”
Maker but what if he were right?  What if Master Qui Gon & Obi Wan were gone?  No, you had to focus.  The first priority had to be the mission and the people in the room.  You lowered your blade infinitesimally, narrowing your eyes.  Haako was far too over confident for the situation he was in.  Even Viceroy Gunray had begun to sweat a little.  So what was the other Nemoidian playing at?
You stared down, or up as the case was, the Trade Federation Skughole. "Not if I have anything to say about it."
Captain Panaka must have had a suspicion of his own, slowly coming to stand nearly in front of the Queen on her throne.  The moment happened so fast though, thinking back on it.  You saw Haako pull a knife from below his robes and leapt towards Padme.  Panaka kicked him, sending Haako back but not disarming him.  Sprinting the second the initial threat had appeared you moved again to face the Nemoidian.  His red eyes boring into yours with abject hate.  “I’m not waiting for Maul to come.  I’ll finish you both myself for the trouble you’ve caused!”
Raising his arm he swung the knife to land a blow that would end you.  Master Windu often said that it was never about rising to the occasion, but falling back to the level of your training.  Simply put you didn’t think about the actions as you took them.  Spinning quickly into Haako to close the distance you grabbed the arm with the knife.  Twisting and with a great pull you flipped him forward. But as the Nemoidian fell his cloak twisted around, causing him to fall at an awkward angle.  This pulled you forward to roll with him. as you both landed Haako slashed your arm and kicked the saber across the room.
Haako had regained the upper hand, kneeling over you.  He simultaneously kept a stranglehold on your throat and with his other hand was trying to jam the blade into your chest.  It was enough of a struggle that you were barely preventing the blade from doing more than superficial damage.  Padme raised her weapon to fire but Captain Panaka stayed her hand, “No! you might hit the girl.”
You were struggling against his superior physical strength and loosing air rapidly.  Closing your eyes you focused on using the Force bringing one of the throne room chairs flying across the floor.  Like a bug in front of a speeder the chair careened into Haako, and then into the marble wall.  Both landed with a deafening thud.  Padme kept her blaster leveled at Gunray, “Don’t even think about it.”
Sitting up you coughed, throat finally able to pull in air once more.  Something was wrong though, you could sense it.  Moving cautiously to where your opponent had fallen you looked down in horror.  The knife that had almost ended you was now embedded into Rune Haakos chest.  He must have died on impact, near instantaneous.  Not even the sacred crystals in the Halls of Healing could have brought him back.  Bile rose in your throat, stumbling back you wretched your guts upon the floor.
Your mind reeled,  “What have I done?”
“What you had to do.”  Captain Panaka had come to stand behind you.  He pulled you up by your arm and handed your lightsaber back to you.  “It was him or you.  Make no mistake he wouldn’t have regretted killing any of us.”
Your mind became a torrent, not wanting to accept that your hands were now stained with this Nemoidian's blood.  What kind of Healer…what kind of Jedi were you?  The logical part of yourself knew that the Captain was right of course.  That is had you not acted then you and or Padme would be dead.  Staring at the body one last time you asked Panaka to ensure that Haako’s family be given the body for burial. He may have been a fallen enemy, but you could at least ensure that courtesy.  There were no tears to shed, only the feeling of hollowness and cold.
The word came down that the control station destroyed and the war over.  The reports from the field were still counting the Gungan injured and dead, casualties mercifully still less than initially expected.  After securing the Viceroy and his remaining staff you went in search of your friends.  Tracing your way back to the hangar you found Anakin who, as asked hadn’t left the cockpit of the spacecraft.  He had however flown said craft straight into the dogfight above and been the one to blow up the control ship.  You had crushed the boy to you upon finding him, relieved at his safety.  That was one accounted for at least.
Placing him in the care of the other pilots you continued your search.  The power station below the capitol was deep and winding.  You had to reach with the Force to find an exact location, focusing with all that you had left.  The signatures weren’t distinct initially and one faded as you were making the descent, snuffed out of the world like a flame in the wind.  When you came at last to the pit, you were both relieved and saddened.
Tumblr media
Obi Wan cried out like a wounded animal, cradling the body of his fallen Master.  There was no sign of the Sith.  Making your way to them you had to fight the bile rising in your stomach again.  Slowly you knelt next to Obi Wan, not wanting to jolt or startle him.  You tried to reach your signature to his,  whispering to him, moving cautiously. “Obi?”
He didn’t hear you, so again you called to him, placing a gentle hand to his arm.  “Obi Wan, are you hurt?  Is that thing still here?”
Tear-stained eyes looked at you, so lost and in pain that it tore your heart to absolute shreads.  His signature finally flickered against yours, wrapping tightly.  “Y/n?”
“I’m here, I’m Here.” You voice cracked.
Your hand moved to rest on his cheek turning him to look at you, thumb swiping away the tears.  Looking down at Master Qui Gon you could see the evidence of what had befallen him.  The tears you were holding back threatened to break loose and join Obi Wans.  Master Qui Gon had to have felt something within the Force, that was the only explanation you had for all of his odd behavior leading up to this.  Falling back to your training once more, you reached out to see if Obi Wan was indeed uninjured.  His gaze was far away, tolerating your examination with little acknowledgement.  His gaze passed from Qui Gon to the Pit, then finally back to you.  “I killed him.”
Your hands paused their work, looking into his bleak eyes.  “Who did you kill Obi Wan?”
“That thing, I killed him.”  His voice cracked.
Obi Wan finally blinked, coming back to himself.   It was as if he was finally seeing you; that until then you had only been a part of the ether.  Obi Wan glanced to your face, then to your neck.  The bruising was starting to form dark purple marks, the cut on your lip very apparent.   Anger rose within him again, threatening to set loose on whomever had done this to his woman.  Raising his hands he turned your chin, seeing the full extent of what had happened.  Then he noticed the cuts on your chest where your dress had been blood soaked from the struggle with the knife.  Rage crossed his features, no longer only from the loss of his Master and mentor.
"Who did this?" Obi Wan's voice took on a distinctive growl. "Who?!"
“Obi I’m alright.  I promise I’m alright.”  You had never seen him like this, it frightened you.  Reaching further you felt something terrible within his signature, trying to get out.  No, you wouldn’t lose him, not to the darkness... not like this!
"I'll kill the bastards..."
“Obi Wan look at me…  Its over, it’s over!  Please, let it stay over.” Your pleas high pitched but soft spoken. Stroking his face you prayed to whichever higher being was present to aid you.   “Obi please…  Stay with me love? Please stay please....”
Obi Wan saw the tears in your eyes finally fall, twin trails marking your battered face.  He felt your signature calling for his own to be calm, to find peace.  Was it not enough that his Master had been killed this day, was it not enough that he was now responsible for a young man’s future?  Was the Universe itself trying to beat him down, crushing him beneath its weight?!  But Obi Wan knew that he could not give into these feelings of fear, of anger, of despair.  No, he would not abandon the light, not abandon all that Master Qui Gon had taught him.  Most of all he would not abandon you.
You saw it, the minute that it was over for him.  When the light returned to his eyes and he pulled you into his arms, kissing your forehead gently.  Obi Wan held you tightly, as if you too would disappear.  You clutched him just as tightly, crying like you hadn’t in years for the losses of this day, true wracking sobs.  The tension within you began to uncoil, you gazed into his clear blue eyes again.
“I’m so sorry Obi Wan.  I’m so very sorry...”
“I know love,” pressing his forehead to yours, pressing a ghost of a kiss to your lips, “I know.”
The two of you brought the body of Qui Gon Jinn back to the hanger, from there the pilots took him to their chapel nearby.  A gesture of kindness and respect.  Anakin was with Padme, having insisted that he protect her until your return.  As he saw you and Obi Wan enter the room his young face fell in sorrow, Padme held him as his tears fell.
Obi Wan wasn’t sure how to comfort Anakin, but he had made a promise to his Master and it would be done.  He moved to kneel in front of Anakin, Padme and her escorts let you three have the room, she informed you that both the new Chancellor and members of the Jedi Council would arrive soon. There was a river of unwept tears behind the Queens eyes, for her people and the Gungans and for the Jedi. In the years following Padme would observe the anniversary of the victory in the Naboo Temple, deep in prayer for the souls of who gave all their tomorrows for the peace of today.
Using the sleeve of his robes Obi Wan tried wiping the tears away, giving a sad smile.  At first he though what would Qui Gon do, but there was still too much pain there for an answer.  So, Obi Wan looked at you, now kneeling next to him and thought what would Y/n do?  That answer came more readily, he pulled both of you to him in a hug.  It was brief but it seemed to help you all, a little balm on such a large wound.
“It’s alright to feel sad Anakin, we miss him too.”  Your own eyes threatened to cloud over again.
“Why…Why did he have to die?”  Anakin’s eyes held just a touch of anger behind them.
Obi Wan swallowed thickly, “Qui Gon was a protector of the light, at times that means making a great sacrifice so others may carry on.”
“I’m sorry mister Obi Wan, for your loss.  You don’t have to worry about me.”  Anakin stared at the floor, trying to figure out what he would do from there.  “Maybe… Maybe I could stay here instead?  Or one of the pilots could bring me back to my mom?”
“Anakin, look at me.”  Obi Wan was firm but still used a soft tone with the boy, not wanting to upset him further.  “I promise we will talk with the Jedi Council, you need not worry.”
“Ok.”  It was a soft, small reply.  The young man looked from Obi Wan to you.  “Do you promise?”
It was not an easy question to answer.  From experience you knew that it was never a good idea to make a promise that you may not be able to keep.  Once given your word was your bond, but it would seem that you were already bound to these two men.  Extending your hand Anakin took it.  “You have my word, Anakin Skywalker, we will see this done.”
