#show shouto's insane face

Today is another day I'm reminded that we have been absolutely ROBBED when it comes to the art...
Shouto countered a 5km diameter NUKE in a single move and didn't get a single double spread of his actual attack or show his face doing it. All we got was a 90% empty page - twice (the second time, he's barely visible).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The writing quality of Shouto's endgame is insanely good and narratively coherent - one of the best things in the final arc, but the art simply doesn't live up to the writing. 😭😭
I would expect one of the main characters getting his final attack the size of a huge area (which ends one of the biggest storylines) showcased in a more impactful way and not be less memorable than the Act 1 panel that was a stadium size attack. And because of the lacking art, it will forever be underrated by the fandom.

This is a brothers Grimm inspired retelling of sleeping beauty and my first proper somno and noncon piece so please be gentle with me and give me some constructive feedback so I can improve!.
Warnings: somnophilia, noncon, afab reader with she/her pronouns, vaginal penetration described, oral(reader receiving), delusional/yandere!Todoroki, fantasy au, I feel like it's open-ended but could be left as a standalone one shot
Pairing: prince!Shouto Todoroki x sleeping beauty!reader
Our story begins with a prince who’s grown restless under his father’s strict control.
The prince known as Shouto went on many trips, all of which were under secrecy to avoid the wrath of the mad king Enji. For if he was discovered by his father, he’d surely be severely punished.
Maybe with a beating, or perhaps isolation, or worse his siblings would suffer for his actions.
He couldn’t risk the consequences, that’s what he told himself when had discovered an old castle in ruins.
‘You’ll be late’ he tells him as he examines the thick overgrowth of thorny vines that wrap around the aged and crumbling walls.
‘You need to return’ he reminds himself, cutting through overgrowth and forcing his way into the old palace, ignoring his better judgment in favor of his curiosity.
If he were truly honest, he was hoping to find whatever valuables were left behind so he could keep on the run and never return home. So he may dare to be selfish and not worry about anyone else’s ill fate, if he were honest that is.
Clearly whoever had owned this castle was long gone, old rotting furniture and aged paintings that were caked in thick grime and dirt.
He almost turned back, nothing here could possibly be of worth right? And yet, on some sort of fateful divine intervention, he felt compelled to look around a little longer.
For what, he did not know, he certainly could not have even imagined he would discover the perfectly preserved body of a beautiful young maiden.
She appeared roughly his age when she was put to rest, he thinks it such a shame that she must have passed young.
He steps closer to observe her better, shocked to witness her chest rising and falling. He presses a hand against her soft face, noting the warmth and softness of her skin.
He knows it’s insane, her clothes were dusty and the room around them was clearly aged decades, perhaps centuries, but she is most assuredly alive just asleep.
Certainly, this must be a curse and undoubtedly one he was destined to break. Why else would he be so compelled to go searching for her?
But how?
If the stories of witches and their evil deeds and tricks were to be believed, then a kiss should do. So with this in mind, he leaned down to capture her lips, certain that the spark he felt was a sign from the heavens.
Soon his princesses would awaken and she would be so greatly impressed and grateful that she would marry him without question.
He waits what feels like one, two, three, four whole minutes, and watches in confused frustration when she remains peacefully asleep.
‘Then a kiss is not enough’ he comes to realize ‘I need to do more, I have to show her she was meant to be my wife’. It made perfect sense to him, there was no need to question himself or his motives behind this because why else would a simple kiss not work?
Clearly, he needed to consummate this divine union.
He shuddered at the thought, the reality of the situation hitting him suddenly and making him unsure if this was all a delusion of grandeur.
Maybe he should reevaluate and deal with the creeping sense of disgust in himself, or maybe this deep and sudden desire for her was truly divine?
But this was unquestionably a sinful crime in any other circumstance, something a valiant and righteous prince like himself should never allow themself to indulge in.
But his urge to move forward must be a sign, it’s brought him this far, and he wouldn’t even be here if he had ignored it.
If he did follow his compulsion, the consequences would be well worth the actions right? Just a husband committing to his wife, that’s what this was.
It isn’t wrong for him to lay his hands on her sleeping body, positioning her to aid him in removing her old clothes, and laid his hot lips on the warm flush that was revealed.
Allowing himself to travel every exposed inch until he had her sex in close sight. He laved his tongue over it in curiosity. Humming in approval when he found her to secrete the sweetest nectar he had ever had the pleasure of tasting.
He lapped away at her as if he would never be allowed to again, no, as if he had never been fed. As if he had been starving for longer than he could remember and this would be the only meal he would have in who knew how long.
He found himself greedily pressing his fingers into her little hole, desperately trying to drag out more of her essence. Long slender fingers moving back and forth, dragging against her inner walls and unknowingly inching a dam of sorts closer and closer to snapping.
It almost startled him when she squeaked out a pleasant-sounding moan, practically pouring her heavenly nectar like a fountain for him. Her sex tightening and convulsing around his fingers, he finds himself enraptured by her involuntary response to him; assured he was right to think that this was the correct action.
He resettled himself between her legs so his sex was in line with her sopping wet warmth quickly. He would take his time to know her body properly later but for now, he would focus on introducing his body to her own.
He takes a breath, takes himself in hand, and rests against her entrance. Pausing to steel his nerves before pushing into her with a single thrust. Savoring how her wet warmth parted around him and held so tightly.
‘This couldn’t be wrong when it felt so heavenly’ he thinks, throwing his head back.
He hears a murmur of discomfort from her, he figures he must be her first lover. Good. This doubtlessly meant that the divines had been saving her for him.
She was meant for this, meant to be his love, to be the vessel for his seed.
So, there was no need to hold back on her until she’d taken it all in her womb, right?
He silences her involuntary whines with hot wanton kisses, allowing his tongue to slip into her mouth and explore every bit of it. Uncaring of the lack of response, he has plenty of time to know what her kiss truly felt like once she awakens.
He lets himself indulge in her. Dragging his finger along the little pearl of pleasure that made her leak more of her essence. His hips slapped against her at a rough and quick pace, chasing a pleasure that was well worth the effort.
He wondered, would she accept loving this rough when she did wake? Would she want the way he was being so forceful or would she rather him be gentle and tender? He supposed he could be gentle.
It did sound rather nice, but he would honestly prefer this. He thinks maybe she would too, her sex twitched and spasmed so desperately around him in response to his actions. Almost as if to wring out his love, it’s hard to imagine she wasn’t or wouldn’t enjoy this.
He wondered if she would call his name loudly, he could imagine it clearly based on the sounds she was already making.
‘S-Shou! Oh, Shouto! Please!’ she’d cry out, on the verge of spilling over again and pulling him with her, accepting every drop of his white-hot love inside her.
He barely catches himself from clasping on top of her, he can feel himself starting to stir again inside of her. How must this look to her?
“W-who are you?! W-what are you do—!”.
He cuts her off with a kiss, frowning when she jerks her face away. Didn’t she understand that he was her husband now?!
“Your husband,” he says it calmly, almost coldly as his hips pick up speed again. It would seem he’d have to teach her this new role as his wife.
And this is where we leave, with a king and his queen. One will live happily ever after, the other has no option but to be “happy” with her new life.

he's quiet but he knows what he's doing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
DAY 5 | OCTOBER 15 | BONDAGE
genre: nsfw, smut characters: dom!shouto x sub!reader summary: having a pleasure dom giving you what you deserve warnings: bondage, dumbification, breeding kink
Tumblr media
Your lover, Shouto, has always been the quiet and reserved type. Sometimes around you too but after you started to date him, he began to open up and showed more of his clinginess that you never knew he had. He may not seem like it but he love language is physical touch. He craves for it.
Not gonna lie, the first time you held him he flinched. You thought he didn't like it so you gave him time. However, you start to notice what he's up to and what he's trying to tell you on the same week. The begging eyes, the little pout on his mouth and the nudges you received. It took you a whole day to connect the dots. He wanted to be held. And so you did carefully, testing the waters and when he doesn't show any sign of discomfort but rather trying to get closer to you than possible, you indulge him like he's your big baby.
Days after, he became more comfortable around you and wants to at least hold your hand when he gets the chance to. Even one time he was eating on the floor and you were sitting on the couch next to him, he had to wrap his arm around your leg. In the bedroom while doing it, he loves to intertwine his fingers with yours.
Just like right now.
So perfect and stark naked under him, his head between your thighs giving you all the pleasure, needs and orgasms all you want. Your thighs and hips are marked red in so many various spots. Runny liquid that comes out of you staining the once dry sheets. Sweat glistening both of your skin. Shouto's mouth and chin are covered with your slick but his hand never left yours.
The contrast of this quiet man's lewd activity and the romantic gesture drives you insane. How is he both at once? So dirty yet so pure.
His head once again lowers to your stomach, kissing it down and down to your wet pussy. The scrunched eyebrows show his determination to make you yet again cum on his face. His skillful tongue licks from your hole up to your clit, gathering almost all of your slick. Sucking your clit a bit before having to be forced by you to leave it. You couldn't take it anymore but you know you're nowhere near done if he hasn't put his cock inside you.
Your head squirming from side to side but as long as you haven't said the safe word, to him it's fine. His empty hand guides his fat cock to your entrance, intruding you but it slips right in. He lets out a low groan as he lets you adjust while you whimper. No matter how many times you have done it, it always feels like first times with him.
His hips move back and forth, leaving you breathless. The view for you is also nice. He looks so hot and attractive like this. Hovering above you, his pelvis pistoning in and out of you, his abs flexing every time. If only you could focus that much but your eyes are blurry from the tears and having to always close your eyes from the immense pleasure. Shouto sets a rhythm to his pace but still have your eyes rolling back and your mouth wide opened with moans coming out.
Your mind is blank for only him. He's filling your head, you can only think about him until you screamed out. "I love you, I love you, I love you," repeating this like a broken record, only pausing when you want to moan out before saying it over and over again.
Your lover whines out too and picks up his speed. His thrusts becomes sloppier and faster after each of your 'I love you.' If you shower him with love, he'll shower you back.
"Shit! Hah, baby, I love you too!" His body lowers and weights on you as he keeps thrusting, so drunk off of your love, your words, your scent, your pussy, all of it. "Love you too! Fuck, I'm gonna cum."
You're also dumbed by his cock and can only think of him, begging for him to dump all of his cum inside you. And he does just that, giving his baby whatever you want like always. Both of catch your breath before he pulls out of you. He watches in awe as the whit liquid oozes out of your pussy. Unconsciously, his fingers reach out to plug them all back in, feeling himself getting aroused again. He snaps back to reality when you let a whine and weak swat of his hand.
"Sorry, you know I'm kind of into this." Oh, you know.

AU where Trio holders lives and acting Pro heroes that regularly picking up interns from UA. But being chaotic them, that always leads to completion of who got best intern
I'm always delighted to see my favorite trio get an AU where they can be happy!
1. Just to make this an extra happy AU, the trio defeated AFO way back in the dawn of the age of quirks. AFO gave Yoichi immortality as a last jab, saying they would continue their battle later. Alas AFO didn't realize the immortality would get duplicated inside One for All and make his brothers' annoying boyfriends immortal too. AFO laid low planning to try to take over Japan again later, got amnesia, married Inko Midoriya, and had a kid. He's currently living life as a genuinely ordinary salaryman who loves comics.
2. Japan is just a lot happier overall without AFO's bad influence. The trio worked together to stop the HPSC from getting too corrupt. They are extremely famous as Japan's three greatest heroes. Yoichi is famous as a quirkless hero, All Might also became a quirkless hero, and quirkless discrimination never took off as a result. Izuku and Katsuki never stopped being friends. Third most has One for All, though the trio passes it around sometimes.
3. Yoichi snatched Izuku up right away as his intern because Izuku is also going to become a quirkless hero. Yoichi has no idea that Izuku is his nephew. How could he, when Hisashi Midoriya doesn't even know himself? But they still hit it off right away. Yoichi brags about Izuku to anyone who will listen. Shouto Todoroki has a million conspiracies, his favorite is that Yoichi is a time-traveling older version of Izuku.
4. Second picks Hitoshi Shinsou as his intern. Hitoshi is pretty surprised about this. However Second knows a lot about turning a weak quirk into a weapon and working underground instead of in the spotlight. He has a lot of ideas about how to help Hitoshi reach his full potential. The only issue is that Hitoshi loves stray cats and keeps bringing them back to the agency, and Second refuses to admit he is scared of cats.
5. Third picks Mezo Shoji as his intern because 1. His quirk is criminally underutilized; and 2. he's clearly dealing with a lot of trauma from quirk discrimination. As someone who grew up during the dawn of the age of quirks, Third can sympathize a lot. He helps Mezo stop hiding his face and his scars.
6. Of course, in addition to being good mentors, these three are all insanely competitive. So they keep contriving to run into each other on the job and show off their interns. Izuku and Mezo are very embarrassed, especially Izuku because Yoichi keeps doting on him. Hitoshi embraces the competition and decides both are his rivals.
7. After a certain "incident" leads to an explosion of whip cream in town square (don't ask) Nezu calls in the three and warns them that if they don't tone it down, they will lose their interns. Yoichi cries for an hour at the prospect of being separated from Izuku.
8. The three do tone it down: at least until the next Sports Festival when they go nuts cheering on their protegees with giant banners, megaphones, and even a blimp. At this point even Hitoshi is embarrassed.
9. Yoichi finally finds out that Izuku is his nephew when he runs into Hisashi at the Sports Festival. There is pandemonium. The three greatest heroes tackled a random civilian! After realizing about the amnesia, Yoichi covers it up claiming that he mistook Hisashi for someone else. He'd rather his older brother never get his memories back.
10. Shouto Todoroki publishes a completely accurate theory online about Hisashi being All for One, but no one believes him. Perhaps partly because he still thinks Yoichi is a time-traveling Izuku.
(All of these asks are free to use in my Three Weeks of Trioholders event.)

I think the reason why people demonize Dabi is that they take him at his word. They believe in his "I don't give a shit about anything" talk. But actions speak louder than words. So, when a man shows you who he is, believe him. Key word, show. He runs his mouth constantly talking about how little he cares about things but it's all talk. Dabi has shown that he is an insane and broken man, but he is not the monster that some people think he is.
Yep. A lot of people don't seem able to distinguish how environment, education and even self-perception can affect the way a character thinks of themselves. I noticed they do the same thing to Shigaraki. Taking him at face value, that is, without considering how he came to be the man he is today.
Shigaraki is an even better example of this, by the way, because he was groomed to have a certain perception of himself. When he says he's made for destruction, he's echoing AFO and Ujiko's grooming. But if you compare that with the choices Shigaraki made independently, that statement rings empty. If he's such a nihilist and desires only indiscriminate destruction, how come he finds value in his comrades? How come he doesn't want to destroy the things they like?
Shigaraki was made to think he's the incarnation of evil and that he's selfish and unstable, and he believes it because he was gaslit into believing it.
Dabi is fairly similar, but a lot of people seem to have an even harder time not to trust his words at face value. In his case, they see him as having more agency and "choosing" to be a villain. But it doesn't really matter if he didn't live under Enji's thumb for the past ten years, if his actions and his mindset are still very much conditioned by him.
Dabi's self perception is informed by Enji's opinion. This is most clearly shown during the war arc. Dabi thinks Shouto is "kind", because he is the masterpiece, so of course he gets everything right. But Dabi is the "failed creation", and he rejects Toga's judgment when she deems him kind, too. I think it's fairly clear that Dabi's self-perception is a reflection of the way he was raised. He normalized those roles and accepted them as inherent, just like how Shigi accepted AFO's grooming as a fact.
So yes, Dabi thinks he doesn't care, just like how Shigi thinks he's a monster who lusts after blood. neither of those things is true, and both have been proven so by their actions.

it's interesting that bnha attracts many "fandom isn't activism" types (it's a big fandom, so of course they come here) when bnha IS imo very concerned with instilling a sense of ethics within its readers. bnha IS a series where the protagonist is right, the flawed characters on the protagonist's side "get better," the good guys win and the bad guys answer for their crimes. "fandom isn't activism" but good lord bnha is guiding you down the most lawfully sanctioned route.
yes, bnha goes through the trouble of characterizing the bad guys and showing the reasons behind their actions, but it insists that the bad guys should still be held accountable. which is fine, plenty of stories do, but bnha is: (1) really ethically very simple as a story because of that, and (2) stymies its own emotional storytelling because it's fundamentally more concerned with drawing lines in the sand that "good" and "bad" guys can't cross.
for example: good guys can never overly identify with the bad guys or put the harm bad guys have done on the back burner. we have to remember endeavor, natsuo, and shouto are more worried about other people's lives, even as touya is burning to death in front of them. there's no lapses in judgment, no wrong decisions, no selfishness, nothing crazy, no one making insane gambits that put others in the line of fire to save their loved one, no one to say "fuck the world, you're the one i choose." only villains do that.
it's love at its safest and most sanitized for capitalism, love that is only self-sacrificial, love that doesn't interfere with the law, love that doesn't upset the social order, love that never implicates the world. at this point, even deku going berserker mode over bakugou's death would be more interesting, but that impulse is immediately suppressed and he follows the plan to fight shigafo, without even going to bakugou's side. in ten years they'll be married with a child and they'll miss its 13th birthday in a row because they have to bust a trigger smuggling ring. please god it's so fucking bleak.
so, yeah, i believe in the villains' relationships more. they make disruptive, unhinged, terrible decisions out of love and i love that for them. spinner puts the hand back on tomura's face, dabi burns down himiko's house, spinner wants to save tomura by walking into hell with him, himiko wants to pay back twice's death a hundred times over, and she knows what dabi will try to do and she lets him do it. it's fucking unhinged and i am invested!
people really are out here giving takes like "fandom isn't activism so the characters i like aren't really cops, but the LOV make each other worse so they have to be saved from themselves by paw patrol" as though that isn't the most vanilla take on the gotdamn earth... i don't want the shit that's been workshopped by therapists and lawyers for maximum correctness, give me some crazy deranged shit that'll determine the fate of the world.

you once tweeted about touya not being the one who needs to change and like “overcome” his obsession w endvr bc his reactions are valid. i wanted to ask how you feel about hawks and his obsession with endvr tho, him literally always putting himself down (esp in the new chapter with saying his wings are dirty for example) to put endvr on a pedestal (still calling him a figure of hope??) so he can basically still look up to him and not face what shit endvr did. do you think he needs like a reality check and face that his idol did or is it just hori not caring
I definitely do not think it's a case of Hori not caring. I'll explain why, but first I want to kinda just explain my take on what Hawks said this chapter about his wings, and his reaction to Endeavor when comparing it to Touya's.
My answer to your question is yes, Hawks needs a reality check. Touya needs a reality check but in a different way. His dad does not define him, and I am fully confident that Shouto's role is making Touya realize that, however that necessary realization does not cancel out that he also deserves to have and see his dad love him and give him what he wants.
Hawks on the other hand, imo, just needs to wake up. There is not real validation or affection from Endeavor he needs in order to move on with his life. Endeavor did not raise him. Hawks is attached to an Endeavor that never existed, while Touya is attached to the real Endeavor with ALL of the ugly parts included. Even with all of the horrible things Endeavor did....Touya still loves him and craves his attention and presence in his life.
Hawks ignores the ugly part of Endeavor. He straight up refuses to acknowledge it for what it is. He knows, he's aware, and yet he remains unphased and puts Endeavor on a pedestal and latches onto him, secretly wishing Enji was his dad and if we ever fucking get to this payoff of Hawks's build up, I'm sure we'll see some jealousy of Touya. Can't imagine a better reason for this image to exist:
Tumblr media
Which, I don't think I need to really explain this but---it's irrational and ridiculous of Hawks to want these things. Is it understandable on a psychological and emotional level? Absolutely. 100%. His reaction is valid, even if very frustrating. Does that change the fact that the entire situation is ridiculous? Nope. It's ridiculous to us (me) as readers because we know all of the information.
So imo yes Hawks is due for a reality check. And I don't think Hori is ignoring it. I will admit to feeling some level of frustration lately with him showing Hawks looking batshit insane when Twice shows up, getting ready for the emotional gut punch of a life time with the set up, and then for some reason spending like 20 chapters trying to get AFO tf out of Gunga and having Hawks and AFO banter repeatedly and completely fucking stalling the story's progress. I'm a little over it and ready to move on, but I don't think anything is going to go on forever ignored. If I've learned anything, it's that anytime we think something will be forgotten or casually slid under the rug, Hori always busts it out later with a vengeance. I do pretty much fully trust Horikoshi at this point, as he has not let me down yet no matter how frustrating the weekly pacing of the manga is at times. Hawks does not have anything good coming his way anytime soon, as Twice and Toga are still there and Touya and Endeavor are still playing duck duck clown. So I'm not worried.
Hawks putting himself down....well, there's layers to this. Maybe Hawks shouldn't have a self-deprecating way of thinking, but Hawks also isn't exactly the pinnacle of hope in BNHA land right now, and he's LONG overdue for feeling some sort of doubt or guilt about his own beliefs and actions. His wings are dirty because they carried out a murder in the name of heroism--which is just incorrect in BNHA's definition of being a hero. And then, Hawks relating Endeavor to anything hopeful is also just not good. I know Endeavor's redemption arc is clear cut and happening, but the climax of it hasn't happened yet, so I feel like as long as Hawks is jumping the gun at praising Endeavor for his redemption that hasn't happened yet, all the while running away from his own heinous act, we shouldn't be taking Hawks's whole word for things on what's hopeful and what's not. Hawks said some questionable things this chapter that have an ominous vibe to it all, and it really just kinda keeps me of the belief that he's got a storm coming.

Do you have any tips for someone who wants to write Shouto? There’s so much to his character, I’d want to do him justice!
Ahhhh hello my angel!! I'm happy you'd trust me to answer this lol, since I think I'm still kind of figuring that out myself.
I think it mostly depends on what you want to achieve with him, plot-wise, or which aspects of his canon characterization matter to you the most. You'll want to play up some things vs others depending on your personal preferences. But I can tell you what I focus on when I'm writing, and maybe that will help!!
Technique-wise, I use a very standard bit of description to move Shouto around on the page.
For me, writing Shouto is mostly about super tiny hints of emotion. In canon he's got that deadpan expression when he's saying like the most insane stuff, and--except for in the heat of battle/at majorly emotional plot points (you know the ones)--he doesn't show all too much outwardly. So I'll often write just a hint of what he's feeling on his face. You're probably sick of all the "tiny smiles pulling at the corner of his mouth" and the "smallest hint of a furrow at his brow" at this point lol, but that's how I do it--I choose a microexpression and let it deliver the vaguest hint of what he's feeling.
Plot-wise, I try to have the storyline tie into the aspects of his personality I want to play up the most.
Personally, one of my favorite things about Shouto is what a brat we've seen him be--like in the WHM prequel + all the times he's ghosted or shaded his dad. So I like to make him a little bit of a shit in my own fics too. I usually show that via him doggedly insisting on the things he wants--like a date with Reader, and using underhanded methods to get it if he has to--or getting slightly jealous when he absolutely does not need to.
The other aspect of his canon personality that I love is how genuinely kind he is. His whole character arc really shows how he actively thinks of and prioritizes others--whether that's giving Midoriya a little bit of his soba when Midoriya's upset, or giving his father the chance to redeem himself when he owes him absolutely nothing like that. So I also try to lean into that in my fics, having him take care of the people around him (usually Reader) by feeding them, actively listening to them, etc.
Dialogue is probably where I deviate the most from canon Shouto. In the manga, he's shown to be a little bit rude, often not using the appropriate honorifics, speaking very directly--so you might want to keep his language a little bit more abrupt. I do tend to give him shorter lines for this reason.
For some other reason, though, I have it in my head that he's old-fashioned, having grown up moneyed in an established hero family--Camie Utsushimi called him "hero royalty" basically. So I give him more formal dialogue, usually, with very few contractions--I'll make him say, "I would like," instead of "I'd like," and kind of old-fashioned phrasings like "are you well?" instead of "are you okay?" or "did you not?" instead of "didn't you?"
Uhhh and that's it, I think. Like I said, it's really just using your plot to underscore the personality traits you want to play up, and applying some different techniques like the micro-expressions/shorter lines to cement it!! I hope this was at least a little bit helpful!!
I'm mostly still figuring out what works for me though, so if other Shouto writers have tips, I'd love to hear them!!

It doesn’t get mentioned but I want to talk about how much Shouto’s phosphor has improved over a very short time.
We are first introduced to the idea that Shouto was working on something new in 336. We see though that he has trouble even activating it at this point which is one of the things he’s figuring out along with maintaining it.
Tumblr media
We are finally introduced to what Shouto was working on in 351 flashfire fist: Phosphor, a new technique Shouto created by using flashfire fist and his heart as the base of this new technique. We see a flashback in 352 where Shouto is showing Deku his new technique. Unlike in 336 he is able to activate it but we can tell that Shouto is having trouble maintaining it hence the shake lines
Tumblr media
This was only about a day or two before he was going to head out and face Touya meaning that he was going to face Touya with a very imperfected technique that Shouto was still working on.
Then we learn between 350-351 that it has a long charge up time and Shouto needs to charge up the technique first before using it which was one of the reasons why the sidekicks was there so they could give Shouto the time he needed to be able to charge up his new phosphor technique. We can also see him begin to charge up his new technique while Touya is telling him he did come home.
Tumblr media
We then see he was able to maintain it for a bit longer than previously and was able to use two attacks on Touya and stop and attack before he lost phosphor and then we see that his charge up was slightly less and was able to charge Phosphor in a matter of seconds instead of a matter of minutes and used his ultimate move great glacial aegir on Touya.
Now fast forward to Shouto arriving at Gunga and we see Shouto activating Phosphor instantaneously with no charge up time whatsoever.
Tumblr media
Not only can he activate it instantaneously but maintain it longer and on top of that it’s a stronger version than previously being able to destroy his gauntlets and his temperature proof suit. All this while exhausted.
Shouto’s phosphor improved in such a short time and I feel it doesn’t get the credit and knowledge it deserves. His phosphor technique improved so much in just a space of a couple of days.
And I wish it got more credit because I feel that often many don’t realize Shouto’s talent, skills and that he is a very fast learner and improves at a rapid pace.
It’s the same with flashfire fist. Shouto could already use Flashfire fist even before he was taught it by Endeavour as he was literally going to use it against Tetsutetsu but during Endeavour’s agency arc he was able to hone it and learn everything he can in the space of three months and all the while still working on his ice side and stumbling across a new way he can improved on flashfire fist something that neither Endeavour nor Touya ever thought of.
But in short the amount of how much Shouto improved on phosphor in such a short time is actually quite insane and like I said should deserve way more credit than what is given. Shouto is an extremely talented boy with tons more potential and he’s already at an insanely high level without any quirk awakenings or free power ups.

thinking about civilian dabitwice where jin is arrested and goes to prison somewhat soon into his robbing career (but not before making a huge splash) and gets let out early on good-ish behavior. but he's homeless, with no one willing to hire him for work, so he's right back at square one.
it's raining. his arms and legs are tired, his clothes are soaked and heavy. he slumps down against a building, burying his face in his arms, rain pelting the back of his neck.
from a certain passenger of a certain vehicle, the view of jin brings back a particularly bitter memory of a boy just breaking into adolescence, waiting for someone a miracle to find him.
"get in" is barely audible over the sound of the rain, and jin lifts his head to see a black vehicle with the back door open and someone with mismatched black hair and white eyebrows gesturing to him.
getting into random strangers cars is not how jin's survived on the streets for as long as he has, but his pockets have holes and whatever hope he had saved up has filtered out like sand. so he clambers into the vehicle, much to the astonishment of the driver, who sputters something about how the passenger's father would not approve.
this earns an amused snort from said passenger, who affirms that he does not care. and that "fuyumi's always nagging me about making friends anyway."
the drive is oddly quiet save for the storm raging, other than jin's initial mumbled thanks as he sits shivering. based on the initial exchange, he's pretty sure he's not about to be butchered or something insane, but even if he was, he's not sure if he could bring himself to care.
they arrive at a... big house. a really big house. like one he's only seen on the TV that played at the shop he worked at before the accident. he shouldn't be so shocked. this guy's family is wealthy enough to afford a man to literally drive them around. but even so!
mr. rich kid, who finally introduces himself as touya, announces his arrival at the door and asks for some towels as he kicks off his shoes. another one of these little rich bastards show up, somewhat taller, who tosses over the towel he had pinned under his arm along with a quizzical look.
touya introduces jin as his new friend and that he'll be having dinner with them tonight. and that nat, which is apparently this other guy's name, should scrounge up some clean, dry clothes for jin to put on.
he gets a hot bath in a bathtub that isn't insanely huge like he'd been wondering, but still moderately and comfortably bigger than the ones he's used to. he puts on freshly laundered clothes.
on their way to dinner, touya warns him that his old man is here, when he was supposed to be gone for the weekend. and to ignore anything he says, because he's a fucking asshole.
but touya also fails to mention his father is enji fucking todoroki, AKA Pro Hero Endeavor AKA the current #1 Pro Hero.
endeavor takes one glance at him and slams his fist onto the table and immediately starts demanding information as to why Jin Bubaigawara, former bank robber, a filthy villain, is in his home.
everyone's pretty quiet at that. fuyumi's eyes are darting between her father and older brother. their other two siblings say nothing. then touya, who did not know if jin's former life of crime, grabs his wrist and announces, "we're lovers"
enji immediately calls his bluff, but not without a fearful look passing over his face. and jin, who's been frozen in shock this entire time, collapses with touya's weight on him. the table falls over when he tries to grab it in the fall. food is all over the floor. shouto mourns the noodles he was just about to slurp down and natsuo's lap has taken a hit of water so that it looks like he pissed his pants. fuyumi buries her face in her hands out of embarrassment. and enji jumps up to his feet with such force that his head puts a hole in the ceiling at the sight of his eldest son planting a big one on a former member of the most wanted in the country, ranting about how no son of his and have you no shame?!
(side note: shouto is pissed at this point because he wanted to be the one to make enji lose his mind by coming out in a crazy way because 1. fuck him and 2. he thought it might impress touya enough to get him on his good side, because he lowkey wants his big brother's approval. he's already in the class group chat saying they need a plan B)
touya flops onto jin's chest and sighs, saying that enji wasn't even supposed to be here this weekend and they were going to make it a lover's paradise, which only enrages endeavor, who's moved into a full homophobic tirade until fuyumi, who's set the table upright, says that if endeavor hadn't been there, they'd be having a nice dinner right now.
it's quiet again, with enji's jaw dropped and nat and shouto picking up the mess. endeavor points to jin but before he can say anything, fuyumi cuts him off with a staccato, "don't."
remarkably, he retreats, not even offering to help clean while nat starts talking about a place that opened up not far that he and his girlfriend really like and they could order from there. touya offers to pay, though less out of guilt for the mess and more because he's feeling rather generous after such a display.
jin's not leaving anytime soon. and when he does, it's because he and touya eventually move out together in their own place.

engraved in my heart (the blade dug deep)
by mochihyuck
Izuku’s world collapsed when Ochako broke up with him, admitting as tears ran down her face that she was in love with Himiko Toga. A dead villain.
He sought refuge within the only person he could allow himself to show vulnerability to, and untrusted his shattered heart in his hands in more ways than he thought.
Little did they know that their feelings had been caught up in a grander scheme – and not only theirs, but some of their circle’s too. They might have only one way to discover the truth that involved them all, but only if they were willing to find it out.
please PLEASE keep up with me even if you're here for only one of the three ships. they're all main i promise (read: it gave me a headache to interlock them all together)

SYA Extended Notes Ch. 4
Excerpt from "See You After" Chapter 4: May 31: Bakugou to Todoroki
I heard what you did that day, how you kept creating those insane ice constructs, how you and Iida went so fast you broke the fucking sound barrier. I saw the pictures of that giant wall of ice. Even now, people won’t shut up about how you saved the fucking day. Of course you did. You’re a goddamn hero.
Manga references in this chapter: (355, 383, 389/390)
Even though the fic is centered around Katsuki and Shouto, the rest of Class A will also show up regularly throughout this fic. I couldn't resist including details from the final war arc when Katsuki wrote about his friends visiting.
Ch. 383 - Mina's big moment melting through Gigantomachia
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love Mina and I really liked the mention of her training with Shouto and Katsuki to get stronger between the PLF arc and the Final War.
Especially after this bit in Ch. 321 (From Class A to One For All)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even though there's not much mention of it in canon other than that, it make sense that she would train with them a lot since she also has an emitter-type quirk and a lot of the principals are probably similar.
Also, I really like the idea of Kirishima telling everyone how awesome Mina is. Whether you choose to read their relationship as platonic or romantic, I really love their shared history.
Ch. 355 - Jirou standing up to AFO
Tumblr media
It pains me to think about what happened to her and how her quirk will be affected after this. (Will she be able to regrow her earphone jack, or is she going to have to live with her quirk permanently damaged?)
For this fic, I'm going with a hopeful interpretation that she can somehow recover enough that she can continue her journey to become a hero. (I also, really liked her little speech when she was facing off against AFO about how she doesn't care about being scared or about strength, weakness, or power. For her all that mattered was her friends)
Ch. 389/390 - Shouto and Iida's speed-run and Great Glacial Aegir (round 2)
Tumblr media
I've already touched on how Shouto is bound to deal with some aftereffects from pushing himself so hard both physically and emotionally. However, I think it was important to have Katsuki put it into words how he feels about what Shouto was able to accomplish while also validating the fact that he needs time to heal.
Regarding the nicknames (or lack thereof)
I went back and forth as to whether Katsuki should call the others by their nicknames in this letter and I felt like it didn't quite fit with the tone of this chapter. In my mind, he definitely still calls them all those stupid nicknames when he's talking to them but since he's making an effort to use Izuku's given name, it makes sense that he would be referring to the others properly too. (He's come a long way from calling everyone "extras".)
Also, I headcanon that he calls Jirou by her real name more than some of the others because she's not shy about correcting him.
For example: during the joint training battles (Ch. 207)
Tumblr media
He's still calling Shouto various nicknames since he's speaking directly to him. (We'll see him cycle through all the nicknames as they continue writing to each other.)
About the Recent Chapters and potential spoilers:
I posted this chapter on 10/18, (2 days after the official release of Ch. 403 and 1 day after ch. 404 leaks)...so, that was an experience.
However, nothing in this chapter of the fic i actually a spoiler because this entire "Hospital Letters" arc was originally drafted in June and I just assumed that certain things would happen so the spoiler-that-isn't-a-spoiler was already part of the story. (That will change in later chapters of the fic because I can't not reference what happened in 404)
At some point I'm going to have to stop trying to include stuff from canon and just let things run their course but we'll see how far I can get before then.

Tumblr media
“Todoroki Shouto… I hate you so much, I can’t even begin to describe how much I fucking despise your guts!” You scream at the top of your lungs, but your voice only comes back to you with the sound of echoing in the basement, Shouto watched you with his calculated gaze. His lips were pressed in a thin straight line, you stared back at him with hatred filled eyes. A flash of longing and disappointment shined in his mono coloured eyes, but only for a second.
“Fuck you! Fuck you! I hate you!” You spat again, anger was coursing through your veins. He didn’t care, did he? Your skin was itching with irritation, it didn’t bug him. He was really insufferable. But you wanted to hurt him, in the worst ways possible.
But, To your disappointment, He only looked down.
“I know.” After what felt like an hour, he finally replied. Your eyebrows farrowed, what did he mean? “What?!?” You were now, genuinely confused. His tone was void of any emotion. It was cold, just like him. “I know, y/n.” He looked up from the concrete floor to you. His feet were starting to walk ahead in your direction, where you were held captive by the steel chains. “You never fail to express it. I-I know..” His eyes were glossy, his lips upturned, almost in a pout. If you didn’t know the real him, his tone would’ve made your heart shake.
But you knew damn well than to pity a monster like him.
“Oh that’s good! Shouto, then… tell me..” you gave him a faux smile in return, taking in a deep breath. “Why don’t you fucking let me go?”
Your eyes never left his face. He was now close than ever, your faces were only inches apart, he could grab your face easily in his cold hands. You hated the way he looked at you, like you were his world. “Because I can’t. I can’t let you go, y/n.” His eyes were swimming in obsession, “I love you- AND I FUCKING HATE YOU!?!” It was infuriating.
This was starting to get frustrating, more than before. It had been months. Months without any human contact expect him, who claimed to me your lover. You only saw his face.
“I don’t care. I never cared. I love you and I only care about that. I don’t care if you hate or want to fucking kill me. I can even die for you.” Shouto only dismissed your confession. His eyes had been covered with a dark shadow, his jaw was clenched, his tone was deadly. “Don’t you get it, sweetheart? I love you.” He chuckled at your disgusted expression.
“It’s okay. You don’t have to love me. My love for you is enough for both of us. I love you so fucking much, ever since I saw you five years ago, I have loved you ever since.” He whispered in a low husky tone.
He seemed to have completely change in a span of fifty seconds. It was scary. “I love you so much, like a fucking madman. I’m starting to go insane.” He gritted his teeth. His intense gaze sent shivers down your spine, his eyes were filled with craze, passion. “You’ll learn to love me, baby. Yes, you have to. You have to love me.” His fingers grabbed your face, gently but tightly. You only stared back in horror. His tone was dripping with obsession.
“You have to love me, sweetheart because now, my patience in running thin. I was never really a patient person y’know? But I have waited so fuckin’ long for you to finally become mine. Only mine,
So love me now, before I fuckin lose it and destroy both you and myself.”

Regarding Toshinori calling Dabi "insane", I just want to add that I loved Horikoshi adding that detail. Why?
Because the hero system hasn't change!
Yes, we got some emotional moments after Ochako's speech, we got Stain talking to Toshinori, we got the consequences of the War, but the problem runs deep.
Toga is "crazy".
Dabi is "insane".
Tomura is "a child".
They're the representation of how society would break you and then made everyone go against you because "you're not will in the head". They're the main three villains.
Older pro-heroes have been more exposed to the manipulations of the hero society. They are used to looking the other side with situations like the Endeavor one. And it's not coincidence that Horikoshi showed us again how much All Might's existence has hurt Tomura, just when the narrative of the villains being crazy is brought back.
Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but Toshinori doesn't know about Deku's speech to the Vestiges. I think he says that he felt Deku's resolution, but because he isn't dead yet, he couldn't be there with the vestiges, just generally feel it. In that case, Toshinori could not know what Deku is planning to do.
I want to remind everyone that we got a whole panel of Deku telling All Might he was as powerful at him in his best days. And that panel ended up with Deku going away and leaving All Might behind.
Deku is already as great as All Might. Now he's currently surpassing him by doing something All Might couldn't do: saving Tenko Shimura.
What does it matter when we talk about Dabi? Because the narrative told us the UA kids are becoming the greatest heroes. They all are going to push pass the old generations and they what they are incapable of doing.
Ochako stole the megaphone (the voice) from Present Mic to declare her intentions. Shouto saved Endeavor from dying in the War arc because Endeavor froze while facing Touya. Tokoyami had to rescue Hawks from Dabi, Momo completed the operation Midnight was leading against Gigantomachia, Deku was the one who protected everyone by facing AFO.
These kids are already more.
So while the oldest generation is still focused on eradicating the villains but not the problem (see Aizawa saying it's time for revenge andfor example), the UA kids now that if they don't fix the problem, nothing will change. There'll be another Dabi, just like Shouto almost turned to one. There'll be another Toga, another Tomura, another Spinner, another Kurogiri.
The revelation of the UA traitor came with the idea that pro-heroes are still not seeing villains as victims. So what Horikoshi did was putting a villain right among the UA kids. And what know? Is she crazy too? They lived with her all this time. They laughed with her, she's their friend, their student. Are they going to push her aside just like society pushed aside all the other villains? Are they going to try and kill her?
And that goes deeper. Didn't they help Iida when he went after Stain? Didn't they help Bakugou? Didn't they went for Midoriya went he left UA? And didn't Deku prevent Shouto becoming something like Endeavor?
We're back on Toga's question: why should the heroes decide who should be saved and who shouldn't? How do they do that?
Why Endeavor deserves to live but not Touya? Why Dabi is the "insane" one and not Endeavor, who abused his family for 25 years?
And because so much has happened, now the kids don't have the pressure to be like their teachers or past idols. Now they can identify when their mentors are wrong, now they can make their own decisions, their own futures. This goes back to Deku refusing to believe he couldn't be a hero because he didn't have a quirk. This goes back to the kids choosing to rescue Bakugou while not trusting the pro-heroes (and ultimately helping All Might win the fight by taking Bakugou out of there). This goes back to the kids defeating Stain and changing the future Nighteye had seen, to them refusing to stay back, to their desire to be heroes not matter what others say.
If the old pro-heroes think Toga, Tomura and Dabi are insane, why can the kids decide on their own if they agree with them or not?
This is all connected because it's the building of the final arc. Let's not forget it.

Rant. Yall have no idea how much I love fanarts of bkdk hugging or holding hands. Or just Bakugou being sweet to Izuku. Not just because it's cute and it shows how their relationship evolved for the better, but also because Izuku deserves it!!
That boy went through way too much physical pain for a 16yo to handle. For any human being to handle. He was harassed his entire childhood and would often come back home with bruises. Almost died suffocated by the sludge villain, had a 10 months hyper intensive training (which is very painful when you're very skinny and inactive, he even vomited and cried from the intensity), he broke at least 50 bones in less than a year. Just that. 50 bones. It's insane. He was stabbed twice by overhaul, got shot at by Nagant multiple times, received countless explosions in his face all throughout the series (Bakugou, Shouto at the festival, Nagant, Haibori woods' mansion...) We can also talk about his reckless rampage during his vigilante days: around 3 weeks with very little sleep, malnourished or even straight up starved after he pushed away all might, stayed in the cold and under the rain 24/7 with no physical care whatsoever.
The list is long, but to resume, the fragile body Izuku was born with literally ruined his life to such a cruel point, it's sad as fuck. Harassed for being quirkless, given a quirk too powerful for his body and now chased after by the worst criminal of history just for that same quirk. I want people to worship that boy's body god dammit. Hug him and hold his hands and feed him his favorite food and tell him he's pretty and wrap him with blankets at night HE DESERVES LOVE AND CARE BE KIND WITH HIS BODY PLEASE
Or just with Izuku in general.
So of course I love that cover. I cry everyday remembering it's canon. The way Bakugou approaches his hand oh so softly with so much care makes me go riot
Tumblr media
Gdisbdidfkdjdbjxd. I just need to see bkdk be soft with each other. I need it. that's all.
Cordially.

It truly kills me when i think about how touya must have felt when after the incident nobody even tried looking for him? His mother physically unable to do so, his siblings too young, while enji said "he didn't believe he was dead that he was looking for him"???? he became even more aggressive with shouto and kept insane training with him?? almost like touyas death complicated his plans (just like when rei hurt shouto and he was more concerned about training than his son being hurt). Even if it was touyas plan to run away imagine being in constant chronic pain afterwards, seeing your abusers face everywhere like a celebrity, learning that your family is trying to reconnect and forgive each other.
I imagine touya going "so this was possible a good family could be a reality if they put effort in.. just not for him". There was probably some sende of betrayal with him seeing that nobody mourned touya, that his death was just not enough for them to hate enji and it probably made him vicious
This has been in my askbox for a while just like everything else that's still in there but it's actually good because I just came across one of my favorite scenes from The Good Place again (if you haven't watched the show: spoilers ahead!) that made me think about exactly that and can I just say that Dave looks and acts exactly like Bakugou's dad lmao.
Especially that part where Eleanor says "Because I wanted that mom! [...] Why does Patricia get that mom? If Donna Shellstrop has truly changed, then that means she was always capable of change, but I just wasn't worth changing for."
Obviously, you could argue that "why would anyone want Endvr as their dad? Why would Dabi want to switch places with Shouto? Does he not understand that Shouto was abused? That Shouto doesn't like Endvr?" - of course, the truth is that Dabi does know. So much so that he is, in fact, the first person in canon to actually openly tell the public that Shouto was abused by Endvr (considering Shouto himself doesn't even exactly admit this and instead only ever focuses on the suffering Endvr has caused Rei) during his broadcast in chapter 291:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sidenote: in Japanese he uses the word 手を上げる (te o ageru) lit. "to raise a hand" which is meant to say that someone raises their hand to commit violence, so he's explicitly saying that Shouto was hit (possibly because abuse is more of a broad term?)
So yes, Dabi knows that Shouto didn't have a loving dad. Even as a 13-year-old Touya knew that he himself had never had a loving, healthy relationship with his father and instead was tossed aside because he was a "failed creation" as seen in chapter 302 -
Tumblr media
which then again raises the question of "why would Touya still want Endvr's attention?" and more importantly - why would it most likely upset him now to find out that Endvr has been trying to (or is attempting to try idk what to call it) change and make it up to his family?
It's a simple answer, really: because all Touya ever wanted was for his dad to look at him. To pay attention to him and acknowledge his existence, as stated multiple times, for example in these panels from chapter 301:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Endvr was never a good dad. Not to Touya and not to any of Touya's siblings. But kids still crave their parents' attention because kids are dependent on their parents and without having their existence acknowledged, they can't receive any love from them, either, so the focus has been on wanting his dad to see him because unless that happens, there is nothing else Touya can receive from his dad.
It's clearly not the same situation as The Good Place, where the formerly bad mom turns around and becomes a good mom for her new kid despite not having been able to do so for her first kid. Endvr still fails at being a dad, he still doesn't have a good relationship with his kids and it's unclear whether he will ever have a good (or even neutral) relationship with any of them in the future.
The similar part lies in something much simpler - the very foundation of someone changing and improving, which is their willingness to do so. It's the first step of many, but without it, one can't suddenly be better.
Dabi doesn't know how his family is doing now. He has no idea of any of their relationships with each other, so it's all just speculation to him based on what little information he does have, which is pretty much limited to seeing Shouto in the role that was originally planned for him. He doesn't know that Shouto doesn't get along with Endvr and that he remains unsure of whether or not he is ever going to forgive Endvr, but he sees that Shouto is fighting side by side with him and that he interned at his agency. With that, Dabi wouldn't be able to rule out the possibility of Shouto having a good relationship with Endvr now.
Either way, regardless of Dabi's theories surrounding the state of his family, the point still remains that Endvr sees Shouto, something Touya has been deprived of for most of his existence.
Even if he knew about the tension in his family, it wouldn't change the fact that Endvr had been able to look at Shouto, when he wasn't able to look at Touya. That is something Touya already knew when still living with his family and something he can still see now. More importantly, unlike with Touya, Endvr never stopped looking at Shouto.
If he found out about Endvr's attempt at redemption, it would probably hurt him more than it would help him considering Endvr's realization of the negative effects he has had on his family came a decade after Touya's death. So it's not even that Touya's death was a wake-up call. Instead, Endvr had to reach his own selfish goal of becoming the Number One first in order to begin to see clearly. And even that wasn't enough to enable him to see Touya. Instead, he pities himself in the hospital and then constantly focuses on other goals despite having promised his family to go look for his not-actually-dead-but-still-at-constant-risk-of-dying son.
The point is that Dabi is still suffering from his dad's inability to do the simplest task of seeing him, but it would probably break his heart to find out that Endvr has made even the smallest attempt at making his crimes up to his family (i.e. by buying Rei a house).
It's a matter of "if he is able to change" but the truly haunting part lies in "when he is able to change" because all Touya ever wanted was for his dad to change, yet the realization of that change finally occurring a decade after Touya was gone is painful as it could not have been meant for him.
Even if Touya's supposed death had played any part in Endvr's change of heart, it's not the dead that benefit from people changing, so how is he supposed to be happy about his dad's ability or willingness to change, when that just means that his existence wasn't enough reason?
