I cannot express how feral it makes me that in the fourth episode of House there's a lesbian couple who go completely unremarked upon as lesbians. They're just one of the four couples with a sick baby.

It's this glimpse at this early concept the writers had for the show where they'd get to do queer representation and queer storylines. But then it was a huge primetime smash hit and executives clamped down on what the network darling show was allowed to say about the queers.

#I do make fun of the show for the hate crimes but Thirteen is actually amazing representation for what 2008? 2009?#and in 2012 she gets a relatively happy ending living out the rest of her life with her girlfriend #i think the writers did their best and like 70% of the hate crimes were them trying to queercode around censors who were hip to the code #the other 30% were that the mid-00s were a dark time and also that time House forcibly implanted a cochlear implant on a kid #house md #hatecrimes md

I think we're sleeping on the idea of Sokka getting to be a stage mom during the summers when they take Izumi to Ember Island where she auditions for the Ember Island Players' summer show

would highly recommend Shastra Deo's poetry book The Exclusion Zone for fans of: sci-fi, horror, long term nuclear waste warning messages, cannibalism, dystopian landscapes, mutation, video games, specifically the yakuza franchise, viscera, love, romance, grief, choose-your-own-adventure books, hannibal, venom (the movie), venom (the poisonous substance), rabbit imagery, whatever those yellowjackets girls have wrong with them, the witcher, fish imagery, hunting imagery, fathers, brothers, mother, sisters, hope, and just good poetry in general

#yes she does have poems in it responding to venom. the yakuza games. the witcher. etc.#last year (?) i went to a talk thingy at the writers festival about fanfic and she read some of the poems and spoke about their influences #but even if you dont know what theyre about they are AMAZING #she is insanely talented #shastra deo #poetry

i was on call with my parents yesterday for our usual weekly calls, and we got talking about the movie i went to watch with a friend, which then evolved into my mom talking about how she remembered how popular some book series were...

and then she started praising writers. said how she couldn't fathom having such an amazing minds and imagination. how intelligent they must be to be able to understand human minds so well and play with words and invoke feelings out of nothing. how amazing it must be to be able to build a little world inside one's head; to have so many different characters you created inside your own mind interacts and create their own life and aspirations and dreams.

i smiled so wide last night.

Agent Carolina is such an "Oldest Daughter" experience character. Also Raised by a narcissistic parent who makes her fight for attention with her DEAD FUCKING MOTHER. Character of all time. She fumbles and deserves 2 be silly but she doesn't know how!!!!!! She's just a tragedy to me. She deserves love and joy but every time she gets something near genuine she has to shatter it because that's all she knows how to do. Every time she experiences joy and acceptance she rips it away from herself.

Okay I want to be 100 percent transparent and say that I do not and will never hold any malice towards the actors in the show. The only things I’m critical of is the writing and the lighting. The actors are doing amazing, I could not think of a more perfect cast they are putting their hearts and souls into the show. The problem is the script.
