just spent a good 20 minutes crying my eyes out over so far away by avenged sevenfold i have regressed to when i was 13 and extremely attached to this band

#i'm still extremely attached to them and forever will be #i grew up w rock & metal & shit bc my parents were cool but a7x was the first band i found by myself yk. like. it wasn't passed down to me #like my mom passed me nirvana & queen & bowie my dad passed me metallica & pink floyd & dire straits #my beloved uncle passed me iron maiden &. also nirvana & rancid #guns n roses was handed my collectively by all three #in short. avenged sevenfold was home grown. yk. they were my own thing #my first thing that Really got me into metal & the likes #the first time i had my Own tastes & preferences #and i was hyperfixated REAL bad for like maybe close to two years it was sooo intense i loved them sooo much #i still do!! i will still call them my faves!!! idc!! they're so special to me #i remember i found welcome to the family in a like. creepypasta mva or smth. funny that all the first few bands i liked i found thru #some creepypasta bullshit on youtube or smth. mcr fob AND p!atd i all got from creepypasta for Sure #anyway. embarassing. but i was obsessed w welcome to the family for a while #and eventually decided i wanted to know who made it and maybe listen to more stuff by them #and it was my mom's bday so august 16th when i went on their wikipedia page read the Whole thing and before i even knew much abt them or #their music or whatever i was crying so hard over the section talking abt the rev's death like i knew him personally #and i feel like that was the sign. the bad omen. that i would be down bad from then on #and i was down bad #and i listened to all their songs. i watched all the shows. i knew every piece of footage that existed of them by heart #and you have to understand by that point the only other thing i had been as obsessed with were hp & lotr #so it was still Fucky to me. to be into something that intensely #in short a7x truly fucking shaped me as a person fr and i will be thankful & fond of them forever and i avoid so far away like the plague #bc i know it gets to me. it really does #bc they were friends since they were like 10yo idiot kids yk before there was ever a band involved #and as someone who's had p much the same friend group since kindergarten #just THINKING abt losing a friend i've had for so long fucking kills me. and i can't imagine how bad it had to be for them #it's a very. empath moment of me ik ik but i can't stand it it gets to me really bad #oh nay

whiplash - e.m.

eddie munson x fem reader

warnings: teeny tiny violence, reader has a panic attack, eddie is the sweetest, eddie and reader are in college

a/n: this is absolutely inspired by my first experience being shoved into a mosh pit at an avenged sevenfold concert when i was a wee teen. i hope you enjoy xx.

also shout out to my love @xxbimbobunnyxx for helping me with the title and some of the dialogue, and my bby @undead-supernova for beta reading for me. ILY BOTH SO MUCH 💕

hot, sweaty bodies were pressed against you at all angles, nearly suffocating you. at this point you couldn’t even see the band playing on the stage, a sea of taller bodies now blocking your view.

when your best friend asked you to attend a metallica concert with her you didn’t exactly know what to expect.

but this definitely wasn’t it.

the small venue was packed, the air filled with the smell of sweat, marijuana and cigarettes. your choice of a leather jacket felt incredibly stupid as it was now tied around your waist due to the growing heat surrounding you.

your palms felt clammy as they clutched onto the hem of your friend’s shirt. the constant moving of the crowd seems to pull her farther and farther away from you. until the swirling pit of metalheads swallowed you both whole, losing sight of her head of blonde hair instantly.

your panicked shouts of her name were drowned out by the screech of an electric guitar— your body now being shoved around to the chants of ‘pounding out aggression.’ the song eerily fitting as you see a ringed fist connecting with another man’s jaw.

your heart is beating in your ears, that familiar feeling of panic washing over you as you continue to be shoved around like a rag doll amongst the group of men. until you somehow landed on top of someone… who had been knocked to the ground moments before you.

before you have time to react a large hand quickly wraps around your forearm, yanking you up and out of the dizzying circle of death. you all but let the stranger carry you through the crowd. the male shoving past throngs of people until you’ve safely reached the back of the bar.

you barely register his voice as you lean against the brick wall, chest rising and falling at an embarrassingly fast rate. your eyes squeeze shut as you attempt to get your breathing under control. those same hands that pulled you out now resting carefully on your shoulders, helping to ground you.

“hey sweetheart, you alright?”

his face finally comes into focus as you blink your eyes open, your heart now beating against your ribs for a completely different reason.

he was painstakingly gorgeous, full lips lifting up into a soft, dimpled smile. “there she is— hey man can i get some water?”

he slaps his hand on the bar top, the clear liquid sloshing out as a glass is slid over to him. his chunky rings clinking against the side as he grips it, now holding it up to your lips. “it’ll help, trust me.” you gladly take the glass from him, gulping down the lukewarm tap water.

“thank you…” you mumble, setting the now empty glass back on the bar and wiping the corners of your mouth. mentally forcing yourself to stay put, despite the bigger part of you wanting to run out of the bar from sheer embarrassment.

“are you here by yourself?” he asks, as you shake your head in reply before resting it against the brick wall behind you. the brunette seems to be studying you as you take in some slow but shaky deep breaths. letting yourself do the same as your heart begins to return to a normal rhythm.

even in the muted light you can see his dark curls were damp with perspiration, bangs sticking to his forehead. no doubt from being in the middle of that pit for quite a while. his cut off band tee showing off an extensive collection of tattoos. that soft smile morphs into a small smirk, as you realize you’ve been gawking at him.

calming breaths long forgotten.

“you can g-go back out there… w-wouldn’t want to keep you from the show.” you fumble over your words, now finding the sticky floor and your beat up sneakers far more interesting than the gorgeous metalhead before you.

the male chuckles, casually resting his shoulder against the wall next to you. his hot breath fanning over your cheek as he leans closer, “not a chance sweetheart. until we find your friends, you’re stuck with me.”

you glance back up at him, surprise crossing your features. knowing most people would gladly leave you behind in the shadows, especially considering the band that’s owning the stage. that sentiment alone makes the butterflies raging your insides flutter even faster. the chaos of the crowd is now forgotten as he grins sweetly down at you.

“i’m eddie by the way.”

the music has seemingly gotten louder since the two of you left the crowd, now having to shout your name back in reply despite the lack of space between you. his smile only widens as you turn to face him fully, crossing your arms over your chest. “and what is a fair maiden like yourself doing in a place like this?”

you can’t stop the giggle from leaving your lips as he gestures dramatically around the dingy bar before his dark eyes are back on you. “oh no reason at all… just needed a study break.” he can tell from the ride the lightning t-shirt adorning your frame that you’re teasing him, but he plays along anyway.

“so you stumble into a random metal concert, only to get caught in a circle of death? that’s quite the break sweetheart.” he nudges your foot with his own, earning another giggle from you. “something like that, yeah.”

he hums in response, running a hand through his unruly curls. “duly noted— i’ll have to take study breaks like that more often,” the two of you quickly fall into easy conversation, no longer paying attention to the concert goers surrounding you.

despite having only met him less than half an hour ago, you both seem quite comfortable with each other. any embarrassment from your small panic attack now a fleeting memory as he tosses his head back with laughter. the sound warming you from the inside, out.

“gotta say i’m a little shocked, first show and you’re already hitting the pits like a pro.” he jokes, leaning in a little closer to you. the scent of his spicy cologne washes over you, making your head spin, “practically took that guy out by sitting on him.”

you groan in embarrassment, playfully shoving his shoulder as he laughs again.

“i’ll have you know i’m quite fond of the music… just not the…” you gesture towards the sea of bodies that are jumping, shoving and headbanging to for whom the bell tolls. “moshing?” he finishes for you, as you nod sheepishly.

before he has a chance to say anything else, a loud squeal fills your ears as a body slams into you at full force. nearly knocking you over in the process, “there you are babes! i’ve been looking for you everywhere!”

earlier you would’ve been relieved to hear your best friend’s voice, but now you can’t help but feel a twinge of disappointment. hoping your emotions aren’t written across your face, but she doesn’t seem to notice. she’s a little too preoccupied with staring at the male leaning next to you.

“now who is this?” her tone is overly playful, wiggling her eyebrows at you suggestively. before she can embarrass you further, you elbow her in the ribs. effectively stopping anything else from leaving her mouth besides a little huff.

“eddie munson, certified mosh pit rescuer at your service ladies.”

he does a little half bow, causing both of you to break into a fit of giggles. “wow… a modern day knight in shining armor huh?” she teases but seems impressed nonetheless, “wish i had a hot guy to pull me out of there, i basically had to army crawl my way out.”

even in the shitty bar lighting you can see his cheeks are tinted pink from her compliment, nervously rubbing the back of his neck. “it was nothing really, just happy to help.” he shrugs before pushing himself off the wall, sliding his hands in the pockets of his ripped jeans.

“modest too? where did you find him?” she gushes, gently bumping her hip into yours. “and does he have a brother?” she whispers that part to you, ignoring the way you roll your eyes at her.

“well i see you’re in good hands now sweetheart, i hope you enjoy the rest of the show.” as he turns to leave you feel your friend shove you forward, giving you a look that screams, ‘are you insane? don’t let him get away!’

“eddie wait!” you shout, gently tugging on the male’s wrist before he gets too far. that dimple making another appearance as he turns back to you, “miss me already?” eddie teases, fully enjoying the flustered look that crosses your features.

“i uh, i-i’d really like to thank my knight in shining armor properly… maybe over coffee?” you nervously chew on your lower lip, praying that you didn’t read this entire interaction wrong.

but seeing his face light up squashes any doubt, watching as he grabs a pen off the bar. holding the cap between his teeth as he takes your hand, scribbling his phone number onto your palm with a satisfied grin.

“looking forward to it sweetheart.”

he mumbles, pressing a kiss to the back of your hand before disappearing into the rowdy crowd.

Satoru, Suguru, Sukuna, and Choso in a Rock Band AU... I need my brain to shut up about this and I need to quell my thirst!

I could have used J-Rock artists as prime reference, but... listening to my own playlist got me into this mess.

The band lineup in my head:

Sukuna on Drums

Choso on Bass Guitar

Suguru as Lead Guitarist & Main Backup Vocalist

Satoru as Rhythm Guitarist & Lead Vocalist

All of them can scream sing and growl, but...

Sukuna is the best at death growling + gutturals. Think Nergal from Behemoth.

Choso is a false chord scream king. Plus, for some reason, he sings like Corey Taylor in my head.

Suguru is 100% a pro at fry screaming. Also sings like Alex Varkatzas probably.

Satoru probably screams and growls like Andy Biersack or sings like M. Shadows or David Draiman... I can't decide. Although, can 100% picture him belting out The Vengeful One.

Anyways...

Satoru and Suguru are power duo lyricists... Like, they're so good at writing songs together. The themes in each album always defer, but they're really good at hammering in a message (subtle or overt) into every song.

Also also, picture Satoru and Suguru singing into a mic onstage, taking the entire crowd hostage with those never-declining face cards, fingers flawlessly gliding over the frets, pressing on the strings, playing their guitars in perfect harmony. 😩 LAWRD HELP ME, I WANT THEIR TONGUES IN MY MOUTH. 😭

From debut, Satoru became extremely popular for never showing people his full face. The fans have never seen his eyes. Yes, he performs with a blindfold on, and during interviews, his eyes are always covered by his signature dark sunglasses.

His eye reveal was in a music video. It played a part skyrocketing the band's fame. And when the band performed live after that music video, Satoru is playing onstage without a blindfold or sunglasses on. Cue the infinite rizz.

Fans always rave that Satoru looks so innocent and cute when his eyes are on full-display (man belongs in a romcom movie) and he's not performing or screaming like a demon into the microphone.

Even after the eye reveal, Satoru still performs with a blindfold on most of the time, and he takes it off with extra flair and drama when the fans ask for it during a concert.

Satoru is very playful when interacting with fans -- a far cry from his onstage persona.

Also, fans are so tickled and pleased that for all his screaming and growling in songs and concerts, Suguru is actually very soft-spoken when he's just talking normally.

Suguru has a tongue piercing and the sexiest dragon tattoo sprawled across his back.

Need I mention the fans love the way Suguru says Satoru's name? Even in this AU, the fans ship SatoSugu. 😝

Suguru is also the one band member who gives insightful answers during interviews. Like, it's always deep with him, much to Choso and Satoru's amusement, and Sukuna's irritation.

Speaking of Sukuna...

Sukuna never wears a shirt during concerts. He has tattoos and he's showing them off like no one's business. Imagine him pounding at those drums, tattooed face, chest, and arms in full display, eyes blazing, tongue out and everything. [DON'T YOU WANT TO LICK HIM? 😜]

Sukuna's the drummer, but he has a microphone too, because he's the best at death growling and they have songs where they get into that.

No one plays drums like Sukuna can. It's a running gag in their fandom that Sukuna had four arms in another life because how in the fuck can he do what he do?

Sukuna is also famous for getting shit-faced before an onstage performance. For some reason, he plays perfectly fine even when he's inebriated or high. It's a flex! 😩

By contrast, Choso and Suguru eat super healthy.

Satoru is always on a sugar-high. Did we expect anything less?

Satoru and Suguru will write really dark songs and they will hand over the vocals to Sukuna, because it fits him so well. Kinda like this:

Satoru may be lead vocalist on paper, but all the boys in this band can sing, and they're all hot when they do it. 😝

The fans love it when Choso goes apeshit on the microphone. I imagine him singing this and it's a treat every fucking time!

Choso is baby. 😝 He's so cute and always looks out for everyone behind the scenes. The band has filmed backstage documentaries before, and the fans who've seen those love Choso so much because he takes care of all the members.

Choso plays bass and each time he has a solo in the song, it's a guaranteed eargasm. 😩🙏 Can he finger me the way he fingers that bass please?

Choso is so sweet to the fans... Always gives them attention even when he's not supposed to. (e.g., when he leaves his house and he finds them outside the gate). He just can't be mean!

Satoru and Suguru are fan service kings! Like during concerts, they don't shy away from getting super close to the crowd. They're also multi-tasking kings, because imagine playing an instrumental solo, singing, and doing crowd work at the same time.

The four of them are trolls! Satoru and Sukuna are the biggest trolls and menaces. Suguru goes along with whatever Satoru wants, and Choso tries and fails to be responsible.

They are well aware of the baseless rumors around their songs and performances (that they're spawns of hell, they worship the devil, etc.), and they play into it to annoy the haters some more and give them fodder. Hate comments are free publicity apparently.

Dating any one of them will either be fun and chill, or just outright chaos. No in-between.

I don't think Sukuna would date anyone though. He strikes me as a pump-and-dump type of man. Hooking up with him means a grand time in the sheets, but it's only good until he gets bored. After he gets bored, it's done. Bye!

Choso would treat you right, no questions. He makes time and does whatever you want to do. You want to workout with him? Okay! You want your own personal concert? Why, of course! You want time for private getaways? He's booking first class plane tickets to a vacation destination of your choice. You want to learn how to play bass guitar? "Come here, Darling. Let me show you."

With Satoru and Suguru, it's a toss up. Mostly because I think it will have to take someone super special (a person who isn't easily cowed and who loves either of them so much) to get either of them to fall in love. When they fall in love with their S/Os though, they're all in.

Dating Satoru or Suguru in this situation means having rock songs written about you. It's one of their love languages in this AU.

I also don't know what their band would be called. 😝

Ghost always held himself back for various reasons, mainly because he felt like he didn’t deserve it. When he feels like things are perfect, he can hear his father’s voice in the back of head… Even with the bastard dead, he’s still haunted by the years living with him. Which is why he’s so used to letting what’s given to him go.

It doesn’t hurt him as much as it did years ago but he’s used to those he loved move on or die on the field. It’s the normal, it comes with the job, and he was so used to dying almost everyday, that’s until his heart warmed around you. But he cursed at himself for getting so distracted on the job! People’s lives are at stake and he’s silently fawning over you like some highschool boy.

It’ll go away soon… But soon turned into never. He shivered at the slightest touch, he leaned into you, and he practically begged you to patch up his wounds when you don’t have an ounce of medical experience. You learned only for him.

Ghost especially remembers one day, when he asked you to stay for a bit longer. It wasn’t the Ghost like you knew. You only knew the cold hearted one, stone cold killer or whatever but you knew deep down that he does have a heart. Even haunted by his past, he still has a heart that he’s clinging onto desperately.

He still felt guilty. But why? He wants to make sure you’re the one. Are you the one he wants to grow old with? Are you the one he’s willing to do anything to be with you? Or are you willing to follow him down his path? He couldn’t have you dying, he knew you wouldn’t die on the field, you’re one of the most skilled soldiers he’s ever met, he shouldn’t have to worry.

But what if he’s the one to go?

It’s the military, there always comes a mission where he may think it’s his last. Yet when that thought comes to his head, he focuses his attention on you, watching you analyze the plan and map of the location, organizing your weapons to make sure you have spares.

Then your eyes meet with his. You don’t say anything, and all you offer is a warm smile that makes all of his bad thoughts go away for a second. It’s until you hear Price’s voice, catching everyone’s attention is when you stop to look at Price.

“Have you ever thought about kids?” You ask Ghost, lying on your back while he sat up, cigarette in hand, “I-I mean… You know! I, um…”

“Calm down, Sergeant.”

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean for it to sound rude.”

“I have thought about the idea of kids, just never wanted the idea of something bad happening to them because of me.”

You sit up, leaning against the wall and next to Ghost, “I know that thinking…” You take the cigarette from his hand, “And You’re wrong, I know you’d make a great father.”

Ghost felt weak, but not in a bad way. It was peace, that feeling that was lost so many years ago that he nearly forgot what it felt like.

He pulled his mask down before you could see the smile and blushing face, “...Thank you, Sergeant.”

“How long are you going to continue calling me Sergeant?”

“Until the day our relationship changes.” He mumbles.

“What?”

“I said…” Snatching the untouched cigarette from your hands, “Until you act more mature.”

You playfully scoff, “How dare you?”

“Oh, how dare I?” He plays along.

“I’m more mature than you!”

“Like hell you are.” Pulling his mask up just above his lips to smoke.

“I was the one who was able to get your injured ass out of that building.”

“While getting shot and ignoring orders.” He tells, tossing his now finished cigarette aside, “But there is a way for me to stop calling you Sergeant.”

You lean in a little, “What is it?”

“When things take a turn for the worse or when we nearly meet our ends, what do you do?” Ghost eyes remain in the distance, staring at whatever his eyes laid eyes on.

“Well, I try to think of all the good things that happened, what I was given during my time in the military. Sure, it sounds like I’m ready to meet my end but it gives me hope, a reason to not die, you know?”

Oh he knows. Memories that can be cherished but they can also be the best form of torture. If one day he decides to forget it all, your warm smile will always be there, always welcoming him with open arms.

Even as he coughs up more blood. He can hear shots fired all over the place, unable to pinpoint the enemy directly. Yet it’s the last thing in his mind when he feels even more blood spill past his soaken hands.

He lets out a dry chuckle, reaching for his radio to speak, “Soap.” He chokes.

Moments later, “Ghost! Thought we lost yer there.”

“There’s a letter… in my drawer, second to last.”

“Ghost?”

“Hand that to (Y/n) for me, will you?”

“No! I won’t, you’re coming out of ‘ere alive!”

“Listen to me, Soap.”

“No!”

“Soap-”

“We’re gettin’ you out of ‘ere! Tell me where you are!”

“I can’t do that, Johnny. But promise me, you’ll deliver that letter to them.”

Ghost feels his vision blur, his body getting weaker and weaker but he smiles, “Promise me, Johnny.” He receives silence, “It’s my final wish, I dream of nothing more.”

“Even if it hurts them?”

“Keeping secrets does as well.”

He wishes he could be the one to give you the letter, but life doesn’t go the way he wants to, sometimes people don’t get a happy ending. But… but he’s fine with that, even though he knows you’ll end up… He shouldn’t be thinking about that, only that smile you gave him hours before the mission.

“Ghost? Ghost, are you there?”

Even more when he wishes it shouldn’t end here…

ASS Squad Band Headcanons

Kent got Sam into music and playing guitar. Kent teaching him guitar makes up Sam’s fondest memories of him, and even though Kent’s PTSD means he can’t always see the band live, he’s still proud of Sam

All of them can sing/do vocals! As far as what their singing voices generally sound like:

Abby: Morgan Lander (Kittie)

Sam: Joey Belladonna (Anthrax)

Seb: Chester Bennington (Linkin Park)/Matthew Tuck (Bullet For My Valentine)

It was Sam’s idea to start the band, and while they all have a shared general interest in metal, the subgenres they each like are wildly different:

Sam mostly sticks to classic metal with some NWOBHM and thrash thrown in. Maiden, Priest, Diamond Head, Tygers of Pan Tang, and Anthrax encompass most of what he listens to. Like I mentioned, Kent introduced most of this to him as a kid, and he never found much of a reason to venture outside of it because he enjoyed it so much

Considering the fact that he plays keyboard and is a freelance programmer, Seb sticks with metalcore and anything with juicy harmonies and some complexity. Megadeth, Bullet For My Valentine, Dragonforce, and Avenged Sevenfold are in his normal rotation. He also dabbles into some more progressive stuff like Dream Theater and Death (post-Symbolic) but it doesn’t show up in his playing style as much because of how it clashes with the rest of the band

Abby almost exclusively listens to alt metal and early black metal. Korn, Kittie, Deftones, Venom, Mercyful Fate, Bathory, and the like. She especially took a liking to Kittie, with them being an all-female band and living proof that it was okay to have the interests she has in spite of everyone around her telling her otherwise—a copy of Spit was one of the first things she bought with her own money, and she never regretted it. She’d probably also dabble in anything horror-related like Rob Zombie and Misfits, but not to nearly as much of a degree as the other bands

The band didn’t have much of a rhythm section for a while, and Seb had to also learn how to play bass and drums; he’s usually on bass, and if a song calls for keyboards, he plays both Geddy Lee-style! His drumming worked for what the band normally played, but it doesn’t compare to Abby’s drumming

Speaking of Abby’s drumming, if she wasn’t playing games or hanging out with Sam and Seb at the saloon, she was getting her drum chops up—she learned blast beats just to piss off her dad, and Sam and Seb cannot figure out how she has so much stamina

Sam’s guitar is a Jackson Soloist, and his playing style is a mix of Dave Mustaine, Randy Rhoads, Tony Iommi, and Glenn Tipton

Their stage presences: Abby: Straight up feral. There isn't really any other way to put it Sam: Looks like he's having way too much fun. Bouncing around the stage and headbanging like there's no tomorrow Seb: A little more reserved, but you'll still see a little bit of a headbang from him

What they'd be if they were a song: Abby: Deftones - Be Quiet and Drive Sam: Megadeth - Rattlehead Seb: Bullet For My Valentine - Tears Don't Fall ... these are all the hcs that i have for the ass trio band for now. sorry for the wall of musical jargon, i tried to explain things as best as i could though lol
