They all expected Stede to be mad and he's just...really disappointed.
Because they didn't trust him enough to tell him the truth. They didn't explain to him what happened. He had to hear it from Izzy, who lied to him. And then all he gets is Izzy going, "OK, Bonnet, give me your worst."
You're not fucking important enough, bro. You're not a member of his crew. You're not his friend. You didn't sail with him. You didn't trust him. And he's still gonna save your sorry ass, because life means more to him than revenge.

Suddenly remembering the best and funniest Good Omens fanfiction I ever read which was set at a mutual Heaven and Hell "work party" and all the demons had bets to see who could bed an angel by the end of the night. It was hilarious and of course you read it presuming that Crowley will win but be gentlemanly enough to not claim the prize - which of course is what happens, but at the last minute it hits you around the face by revealling that Beelzebub hooked up with Gabriel
and well.
I think I'm gonna go reread that fic...

i tried to write this ficlet four different times but i'm having a day so. take whatever this is.
aziraphale with fake vampire teeth. he loves them. crowley HATES them because you can just grow them angel, this is humiliating. i'm a fucking snake. i have fangs. take those things out of your mouth.
but aziraphale is doing his dollar-store dracula roleplay because it's halloween! he has to wear a costume when handing out the candy to the children!
"oh also crowley here's your costume-"
"i am not wearing a costume."
"you will wear the costume."
"this is embarrassing even for you angel"
(if there's one thing aziraphale is shamelessly good at, it's making puppy eyes at crowley until he gives in, and oh does he want him to wear the bloody thing)
"... fine. but you owe me" "yeah yeah just get ready"
and THAT is how soho gets to experience count aziraphale and his trusted companion, the bat crowley, who looks particularly dashing (and very much not scary) in a black turtleneck with tiny wings on his back. at least his eyes can be on full display, even if just for tonight, and the kids LOVE them so much crowley's complaints die down rather quickly. he might even have *gasp* a good time!
(and if it was more about getting him back into the turtleneck than the costume - well, aziraphale knows how to keep a secret)

Everyone’s rightly talking about Aziraphale’s face in this scene
But what about Crowley’s face in THIS scene
Look at that. Brow raised. Lip bitten. That is the definition of lust.
Damn, they are thirsty af for each other and it took two wonderful lesbians to make them see it too...

Maybe I've just curated my dash well but anecdotally, I haven't seen almost anyone express disapproval of the Izzy arc in this particular way, which I would agree is judgy and unproductive. The main concerns I've been seeing (and hopefully expressing, although maybe not effectively) have been from:
People reminded of traumas/relationship dynamics reflected in Izzy and Ed's s1 relationship in general, or specific parts of it like Izzy telling Ed he was better off dead than acting so f*ggy.
People who feel like point number 1 is being retroactively minimized by the narrative (not the characters, the narrative) not acknowledging the role Izzy played in setting off Ed's Kraken era.
People who have seen their abusers get to control the narrative around harm they caused, which the narrative silence around points 1&2 seems to underline.
People who have been gaslit about their traumas and/or felt like the only person in the proverbial room who remembers that something harmful happened.
People who see Izzy suffering and then being granted grace, and walk away concerned that the message is being sent that suffering is the path to forgiveness, which would be a dangerous message period but is especially perplexing from this show in particular.
(I'm not here to argue with any of those interpretations if Izzy or his actions so save us both the energy, I'm here to talk about the post I linked.)
I can understand how, from any of those perspectives, the Izzy arc has felt like a sour note in an otherwise great season. I certainly haven't been able to engage with it as fully as I had hoped to do when I first saw hints of where things might go while watching the first episodes of the season.
I don't need a big speech or conversation about it all or even that much screen time devoted to it. But if the narrative wants me to buy a redemption arc for Izzy, the narrative needs to acknowledge what he's being redeemed for in the first place. When I talk about what's "earned" I'm talking about what the narrative has earned, not the characters. And right now, the narrative doesn't feel like it has earned more than me holding my nose to get through Izzy redemption scenes. And that's sad for me, because I've never felt like that about this show before.
I don't believe you earn forgiveness, or that you atone for your actions for someone else's sake. True forgiveness is something that the wronged party grants for their peace of mind. True atonement is something you do for yourself to make peace with yourself what you have done. Neither is "earned", much less through groveling or suffering. But both require acknowledging and reflecting on the truth of what happened, and that lack of narrative acknowledgement is the missing stair so many of us are having to learn how to work around when it comes to watching this season.

I'm still not over it, so I'm gonna talk about it even more. The scene at the shooting range with the 5 main cast members? One of my favourite scenes from young royals, hands down. I loved the intensity of it all, that we see just how far the whole situation has been pushed to the point of that kind of violence. Plus, I think Edvin did a fucking incredible job in portraying his anger and rage, and showing Wille's dangerous and assertive side.

It's alright everyone. As much as I would have liked Jay and Pixal to show up in the plot, it just doesn’t make narrative sense.
I mean, the season would be like one episode if they were there. They would bust in and solve everything with their insane strategy and power level, and then we just wouldn't have a show. So really, this is better for everyone...

Primal 2x10
Of course Spear pulled the ''I sacrifice myself heroically number'' and sacrificed himself, part of me suspected something like that, but didn't want to accept it.
I won't lie, there was screaming and a few tears flowed.
Btw, this was not the way I imagined Spear's and Mira's physical union, but it was still pretty darn touching (The episode, the whole season, not this weird sex scene) and our hero had a (relatively) worthy end. He protected the ones he loved.
And that moment when you see how the two little dinos have grown and Spear's and Mira's daughter, look at her, like her father.

Season 6 of The X Files slaps so hard. Going into season 6 knowing that the filming location moved from Vancouver to Los Angeles the show lost a part of its classic scenery and feel but made up for it in what I would say is comprised of some of the best episodes in the entire series. I mean come on....
Triangle: a banger
Dreamland I & II: both bangers
How the Ghost Stole Christmas: another freaking banger
The Rain King, Drive, Tithonus, Agua Mala, Monday, Arcadia, Milagro, The Unnatural, Three of a Kind, and Field Trip: ALL FREAKING BANGERS
