“COULD SHE REALLY BE HERE... WAITING FOR ME?”
Last night’s Silent Hill transmission brought us updates galore on a franchise that has been uhh, well, sorry but... “Silent” for the longest time. 2014 to be exact. From what we could see online and based off our customer response via social channels, fans had set expectations pretty low ahead of the event. This of course makes what we got given THAT much sweeter!
What we thought was going to be a live show ended up being a 48 minute video instead, but you’ll hear no complaints from us here!
We’re focusing our love and attention on the heavily rumoured Silent Hill 2 Remake that came through the fog and onto our screens at long last! In spite of the reservations from this hugely dedicated fanbase regarding Polish studio Bloober Team’s involvement, the trailer looks stunning. BT of course have a little bit of a patchy background in the horror genre with hit and miss performances on previous titles like ‘The Medium’. Whether such a huge remake should be in their hands will remain to be seen... But it’s an unenviable task, we’ll say that!
“In my restless dreams... I see that town.”
And so have we. On the back of supreme survival horror remakes like Resident Evil 2 & Alan Wake, we undoubtedly speak for many when we say that we’ve waited a long time for Silent Hill to make a next gen appearance. The potential is almost TOO much! We hope that Bloober Team can handle it...
Tumblr media
The game will be a timed PS5 console exclusive whilst also making an appearance on Steam for PC gamers. This period will run for a year before hitting Xbox and we’d imagine, Game Pass!
No release date was confirmed which is a little disappointing! If we had to take a guess we’d say late 2023 but we wouldn’t be shocked at early 2024... Still, we can’t be too greedy when we’re finally getting what many regard as the greatest survival horror game of all time on next gen! More updates on this as and when it drops.
Silent Hill f
youtube
Crazy really... We spend almost 10 Silent Hill-barren years waiting for something, ANYTHING, even at some points leaning on other games (Abandoned) with conspiracy theories of Hideo Kojima’s next crack at the series! And then we’re hit with nearly 50 mins of so much Silent Hill goodness that we don’t know what to do with it!
The above and titled Silent Hill f will be a completely new story set in 1960's Japan featuring a beautiful, yet horrifying world. A young girl explores an eerie town, empty and alone. Constricting floral reeds begin to appear and bind as she fights (and fails) to break free. We see her, transformed by these supernatural events into a floral (or perhaps fungal) hybrid that ends with... Her face falling off. Silent Hill, ladies and gents.
Written by Ryūkishi07, famed for Japanese visual novels dealing with murder mysteries, psychological and supernatural horror - This may have peaked our interest even more than Silent Hill 2. What a way to end the show! Much like the aforementioned, no release date confirmed but we’d imagine we’ll see a lot more gameplay and solid info in early 2023.
Return to Silent Hill
Other announcements included a movie sequel to the 2006 original that starred Sean Bean. Konami assistant producer Rui Naito has stated that it’s actually been the “catalyst” to this new wave of Silent Hill games that we’ve got on the way. Check out the teaser here!
Silent Hill: Townfall
Lastly, there’s the above game co-produced by Annapurna Interactive (Stray) and multiple BAFTA award winning No Code Studios (Stories Untold, Observation). Very little was revealed but its mysterious trailer has got us all talking... On a walkie-talkie of all things! Check out the teaser here!
All good things come to those who wait - and this fanbase have waited. We’re now, at a guess, within a year of an array of Silent Hill releases and enthusiasts around the globe can rejoice as they say out loud:
“Well, I'm alone there now, in our special place... waiting for you.”
Eyes peeled for more updates, TGCollectors! It’s a fun time for Survival Horror...

Promptober Day: 12
Pumpkin Carving | Jacksepticeye X Reader
Prompt: "Pumpkin Carving"
This is pretty much the sequel to "Pumpkin Picking", so you may want to read that one first.
(wc: 681)
~~~~~
" That's how you want to carve your pumpkin?" Sean chuckles pointing at the huge circular eyes with no pupils. "What? You don't like it?" I ask nudging his arm with my elbow. "Yours isn't much better."
I decided to go with round eyes and a smile, and Sean did a friendly looking ghost to go with the color of the pumpkin. "True," he replies, handing me the knife. "Your turn to cut it out."
He did his while I was still designing mine. I take it from Sean and plunge it in the top of the gourd. Sean and I decided to carve them at my house. "Can you promise me that Anti won't pop up? Everyone who's carved a pumpkin on your channel meets Anti." I speak.
"I'll try my best to make sure that doesn't happen." Sean places an assuring hand on my shoulder as I pop the top off the pumpkin off. The first eye came out without fighting me. Which is nice. I've never been very good with a knife.
"Do you have a candle?" Sean asks. "Yeah. I think I put the package on the top shelf in my bedroom. You can go get it if you want." He nods, disappearing into my house. I hum a little tune underneath my breath as I work on the second eye.
This one's giving me trouble. There's a bruise in the path of the knife, making it difficult to cut. After fighting with it for a bit I skip that and move onto the lima bean shaped mouth. Sean returns with the package of apple pie scented tealights I bought yesterday.
"Found them," he says throwing them on the table. It surprisingly didn't mess me up. We're working on one of those white plastic "Lifetime" tables. You know, the one's you find at every garage sale.
"Cool," I respond, popping out the mouth. "Sean?" He turns his attention to me. "Can you help me? I can't seem to get this to come out." He takes the blade from my hands and gets to work.
"There," he says just as the second circle falls out.
Sean and I finish up the video, turning off the camera. Between the two of us the mess is quickly cleaned up, leaving only the pumpkins on the table.
"Let's go inside," I say. "It's cold." Sean nods, following close behind as we make our way into the house. The sun is still trying to set, so we decide to wait to take some pictures in the dark. "Are you going to stay over?" I ask, sitting on the couch.
"Probably not. I think I'll head home to go to bed," Sean replies, sitting next to me. "Ok. What do you want to do while we wait?" Sean shrugs. "We could watch a movie," he suggests. "Which one?"
We ended up watching his favorite movie. It wasn't too bad. About thirty minutes in, we got the pictures for Instagram and returned to our spots right next to each other on the couch. Sean's head lightly rests on shoulder, mine on top of his.
The ending credits start rolling down the screen, signifying the movie's over. I lift my head quickly noting that the Irishman isn't doing the same. "Jack," I whisper, muting the tv. He doesn't respond. I assume he's asleep.
Pondering waking him up, I finally decide upon just let him stay here. After turning the tv all way off, I adjust our position, making more comfortable for the both of us.
I rest my head on the top corner of the back cushion with Sean leaning on me more than before. He's warm compared to the air circulating throughout the house as of right now. I may have forgot to turn on the heater.
My eyelids slowly start to get heavier by the moment. I glance over at Sean —who's sleeping surprisingly peacefully— before drifting off myself.
Not proofread, sorry.
Day 19: Demon
Sean is having a lot of difficulty with his mental health. Evelien and Sean decide to take a mental health day: a day to enjoy every moment they have together.
This fanfic was inspired by the YouTube short film '15 MONTHS' by Jacksepticeye, located on his channel. I also wanted to add a couple unconditional love scenarios to this story. I hope you enjoy.
Seán sighed as he took the pills with a quick swig of water. He looked up at the window and stared at the big tree in his window. The tree was starting to lose its leaves, and happened to be losing leaves right now. They weren’t red, orange, or yellow, like they probably should be. They were brown and all crinkly. Seán missed the tree’s pretty stage…He had been too focused on how shitty he’s been feeling that he completely missed the beauty before the bleak set in.
Seán got up and started to make himself a cup of his own Top Of The Morning™ coffee. He watched as the coffee slowly spilled into his mug from a single sprout. It was black and bitter-looking…which is ironic considering the kind of coffee he had chosen: Morning Glory Light Roast. But all coffee is black…everyone knows that.
When the coffee finished spilling into the mug, Seán put the mug onto the counter and put a little bit of sugar into the coffee. He stirred the sugar into the coffee and put the spoon down on the counter. Then, he picked up the mug and took a sip of the hot dirty bean juice.
Seán looked at the coffee as he lowered it down from his lips. It tasted great, but…the feeling felt different. He wasn’t feeling satisfied, despite the good taste of the coffee. He felt…empty.
Seán placed the mug down onto the counter a little louder than usual, and walked back to his and Evelien’s bedroom. He looked at his girlfriend as she slept on the bed, her back facing him. He smiled a little bit. He knows what Evelien looks like when she’s sleeping…but he just had to admit it: She looks really cute when she’s sleeping.
Seán walked up to Evelien and leaned over. He kissed her cheek softly and widened his smile a little more when she hummed in response.
Evelien opened her eyes and looked up at her boyfriend. “G’mornin’.” She mumbled out with a smile.
Seán chuckled. “Good morning.” He replied.
Evelien opened her arms and let out a big stretch. She grunted as she stretched…before she dropped her arms and relaxed. “You comin’ back to bed?” She asked.
Seán nodded. “Sure.” He replied.
Seán sat down beside Evelien and laid his head on the pillow. He smiled as he looked at Evelien, and watched as Evelien slowly closed her eyes.
When her eyes were closed, Seán dropped his smile and looked down. He felt…moody. Down in the dumps. Really out of it. He should be happy. Why wasn’t he happy right now?
Seán closed his eyes as he felt his thoughts spiraling. What was wrong with him? He has a girlfriend, he has a well-paying job, he has a house, he has food and water, everything he needs. Why can’t he just be thankful for what he has? Why can’t he just be…happy?
Seán looked up at Evelien and widened his eyes as he realized Evelien was looking at him. He looked away, embarrassed to have been caught. Evelien placed her hand on his. “Are the demons kicking you down again?” Evelien asked.
Seán sighed and nodded his head. Evelien rubbed the back of Seán’s hand with her thumb as she watched Seán very slowly fall apart in front of her. This wasn’t the first time Seán has woken up unstable. It’s been happening a bit more often than they’d both like. But…Evelien didn’t want him to hide his true feelings from her. She wanted him to tell him when he’s sad, tell him when he’s happy, and tell him when he’s ashamed.
Seán sniffled as he felt an aching feeling in his throat. He felt like he wanted to cry. But he was still afraid of crying in front of Evelien. Even though they had known each other for years…lived with each other for at least one…He’s still fighting with himself about whether to cry in front of her or turn around to cry. But there was no stopping it now…A tear had already begun to fall from his eye, down to his cheek.
Evelien moved her hand up to Seán’s cheek and gently rubbed the falling tear off his cheek. “You can cry if you need to.” Evelien told him.
Seán sniffled. “I know…”
Evelien tilted her head. “Do you?”
Seán closed his eyes and squeezed them. He reached his hand up to his cheek and held onto Evelien’s hand. He didn’t want to look Evelien in the eye right now. He felt weak…stupid…overly emotional.
Seán opened his eyes as he felt Evelien’s arms wrap around him. He slowly wrapped his own arms around her, and hid his face in her shoulder. A small upside of being shorter than your girlfriend, is being able to hide your face in her shoulder while she rubs your head and back. It felt comforting…it felt safe.
[A couple hours later:]
Seán and Evelien were washing dishes together. Evelien was washing them, while Seán was drying them. He had just put a pan down inside the correct drawer, when he felt some wet droplets on his neck. Seán closed the drawer and felt the back of his neck. Where did the droplets come from? Was the ceiling leaking? That wouldn’t make sense…because if the ceiling was leaking, then the water would feel cold. But…this water felt warm.
Then, Seán widened his eyes as he heard a giggling Evelien behind him. He slowly started to smile as he realized the water on his neck was likely from the soapy water in the filled sink.
Seán turned to look at Evelien. “Did you-”
Seán closed his eyes and raised his eyebrows as more droplets of water were flung right at his face. Seán’s smile grew a little wider as he heard Evelien giggling even more. “Gotcha!” She cheered.
Seán opened his eyes right as Evelien started to dip her fingers into the soapy water again. Seán quickly grabbed Evelien, turned her around and pulled her in so her back was against his chest. Then, he started skittering his fingers on her sides.
“Now I’ve got you.” Seán replied.
“AAH! Bahahaha! Hehey! Dohohon’t tihickle mehehehehe!” Evelien giggled.
“Why not? You teased me, now I tease you.” Seán replied.
“Ihihihi’m nohohot eheven that ticklihihihish.” Evelien reminded him.
“So? Why would that stop me from tickling you?” Seán asked.
Evelien reached her arms back behind her and started squeezing his belly with her backwards hands.
“WhohoAHAHA! HEHEY! Now hohold on-” Seán stopped tickling her to grab her hands. “Don’t think you can tickle me back just yet. I’m not done!” Seán reacted.
“Buhuhut ihit’s not fair if you’re only tickling me.” Evelien reminded him.
“Well, it’s more fair for me…” Seán teased.
Evelien quickly brought her arms forward, pulling them out of Seán’s grip. Seán yelped and face planted into Evelien’s back. Evelien quickly turned to face Seán, and picked him up under the arms like a toddler. “Come here, shorty.”
Seán whined and pouted at Evelien, crossing his arms like a toddler as well. “I’m only a few inches shorter than you…” Seán reminded her.
Evelien smirked and blew a raspberry onto the side of Seán’s neck.
Seán uncrossed his arms as he tittered and giggled. He even began struggling to cover up his neck as well. His legs were kicking, his arms were flopping around, and he was wiggling around like a squirmy puppy to get out of her grip.
“Poor Seány boy…poor Jacky. So ticklish…and nowhere to go!” Evelien teased.
“Shuhuhush.” Seán mumbled.
Evelien lowered her boyfriend down to his feet and snuck some tickles on the right side of his belly. “Mr. Ticklee over here…” Evelien teased.
“Tihihicklehehee?” Seán asked, confused.
“Ticklee. The person that’s being tickled by others.” Evelien told him. “Did you know there’s a whole community based around the bonding and hobby of tickling?” Evelien told him.
“Thahahat’s gohotta behehe aha lihihihie.” Seán reacted.
“It’s not.” Evelien said with a genuine smile. “There are lots of fanfictions and fanart around of fictional characters being tickled for fun.” Evelien told him. “Ticklee is the person being tickled, and tickler is the person tickling others.” Evelien added.
“Ihihi dihihidn’t knohohow thahat.” Seán admitted.
Evelien giggled and blew another raspberry on Seán’s neck. Seán threw his head back with a fit of laughter, and smiled brightly.
“I can see why people enjoy it though. I certainly love hearing you laugh, Seán.” Evelien told him, still talking against his neck to further tickle it with her breath. “Your laughter fills my whole heart.” She added.
“Thahahanks Ehevelien.” Seán replied, leaning his head against Evelien’s chest. “Ihihi lohove your laugh too.”
Evelien chuckled. “Thanks, Jacky.” She replied. “Now: more tickles!” She declared.
“Wait! Noho!” Seán protested.
“Yeeeessss~” Evelien tickled Seán’s right side with all 10 of her hands.
Seán bursted out laughing loudly. “BAHAHAHAHAhahaha!” Seán cackled.
“Kitchy kitchy kitchy koo! A kitchykitchykitchykitchykoo!” Evelien teased.
“EHEHEHEVELIHIEN!” Seán yelled.
“Yeeessss?” Evelien replied.
“STAHAHAHAP! IHIHIHIT’S TOHOHOHOO MUHUHUHUCH!” Seán told her.
“Is it really?” Evelien asked.
“YEHEHEHEHESS!” Seán yelled back.
“Okay. I’ll move it down to 5 fingers then.” Evelien told him as a compromise.
Evelien removed one of her hands and used her left hand to hold Seán’s right arm up. And with her right hand, she tickled his right side.
“Ohohokahahay. Thahahat’s behehehetteher.” Seán replied.
“Glad you’re enjoying this.” Evelien told him.
“Meow.” Someone said below them.
Evelien stopped tickling Seán to look down at where the sound came from. Seán looked down as well, confused.
When they saw who it was, they both bursted out laughing. BB was rubbing his body against Seán’s ankle, and meowing for love. Evelien picked up BB and kissed his head before petting his ears. “Hi BB.”
“Meooow!” BB yelled loudly.
Seán laughed. “The whole world must hear his wisdom!” Seán declared, making fun of BB.
“Tell me your ways, Big Boss!” Evelien declared, also making fun of BB.
“Meeooooow!” BB yelled next before rubbing his face against Evelien’s chest.
Seán gave BB some pets as well, booping his nose as well while saying the word “Boop!”.
BB opened his mouth and tried to grab Seán’s booping finger. He then gave up, looked down and licked his lips and snout.
Seán looked over at the dishes beside the sink and groaned. “Evelien…we didn’t finish the dishes.” Seán told her.
Evelien giggled. “I know.”
Seán narrowed his eyes at her with a smirk. “We’re you tickling me so you could get out of doing the dishes?” Seán asked.
Evelien chuckled. “Well…it was more to help keep your demons at bay.” Evelien admitted. “But…not doing dishes happened to be an added bonus.” She said with a wink.
Seán chuckled back. “Why don’t I wash, and you dry for a bit?” He asked.
Evelien shrugged her shoulders. “Sure.”
Seán and Evelien headed back to the sink. He put his hands into the water, and started to wash. But when he looked at Evelien, he noticed something:
Evelien still had BB in her arms.
Seán narrowed his eyes with a smile. “You…have to put BB down to dry dishes, Evelien.” Seán reminded her.
Evelien smirked and slowly started to walk backwards away from him.
“Evelien…Evelien~” Seán called.
Evelien took off running with BB still in her arms and a big toothy smile on her face.
“Gab!” Seán yelled, reaching his arm out. Seán then sighed and smiled a bit. Looks like he’s going to have to chase her through the house…
GOT MET GALA
gala theme: fits george’s worldbuilding, works in universe
event theme: DO I THINK ITS PRETTY
8. MARGAERY BLUE PATTERNED DRESS
I love the cut, I love the fashion they established in the Reach through the new cut, I love her long flowy hair making her look prettier but also kinda ~sultry and wild~ to appeal to Joffrey, I love the little belt thing too. It’s pretty, it fits the Tyrells, it fits the look Margaery is going for.
Tumblr media
7. JON’S KING FIT
*kit voice* i like the wolf bit. aksjd. i really do love that Jon has the direwolf sigil on his gorget but Robb and Ned don’t - shows Jon is just a little unsure of his Starkiness too, and trying to emphasize it. I also love that they gave him a manbun, he really channels Sean Bean’s long hair even with his curls.
Tumblr media
WORST DRESSED: DAENERYS IN QARTH
Tumblr media
This girl has never served once in her life but this one was the worst. Why is that bit in the kiddle sticking out. Why is that purple going down between her legs. Why do those colors clash so bad. the whole thing is so bad and it looks funky to move in as evidenced by how deeply awkward Dany looks in it, when she moves much less awkwardly in her other more notoriously ugly outfits. Just bizarre choices all around here.
6. BRAN STARK THE LITTLE LORD
Tumblr media
I know i’ve talked about how gorgeous the gorget is, but I also love that he’s wearing his fish pin. I think it’s cute that like Sansa, like Ned in the books, Bran is taking care to LOOK the part when he has to take on responsibility, and wants his mother’s house to be on display alongside his father’s. Considering we see him play with the pin, I wonder if it was a gift from Catelyn or if it straight up IS Catelyn’s that he just took when she left. Anyways, both look really good with his longish hair, and I loved his bangs in early seasons because they are always slightly greasy, and it reminds you how young Bran is (he don’t wash his hair well, like a lot of little kids!)
5. CERSEI LANNISTER ARMORED DRESS
Tumblr media
the reason this one is imo superior to the other ones is because of the practicality of the fit. There’s a lot here gender & character wise, from the way her hair is done in a much more “soft feminine” way to the literal armor she’s wearing to set herself apart, the insistence on Lannister Colors Wlways, the silhouette is gorgeous and it just looks REALLY GOOD but! Considering she’s worried about them losing & plans to herself and Tommen over being captured, to focus on both her femininity to make her seem more weak while putting her in armor to make her seem strong, but giving her an outfit and hair style she can RUN in, she can DIE in, kicks it up into faves for me.
4. JOFFREY BARATHEON ARMOR
Tumblr media
I love how he’s allergic to Baratheon colors & symbols, I love the crimson being used here, i love how ornate the armor is, I love how he has to have that gold and crimson pattern he loves even in battle on the bottom. Jack’s makeup is really well done here too, the black around his eyes makes him look small & petulant.
3. CERSEI’S REVENGE DRESS
Tumblr media
The black/perpetual morning angle, while also evoking the Targaryens. The shoulders and ornamentation modeled off Tywin. The fuck ass bob. Really solid look that’s grounded in Cersei as a character & where she is emotionally, and it’s got a great silhouette. Cersei has other, more popular outfits but in my opinion, it’s her best fit in the show because it tells the entire story of her character up to this point, AND it looks good AND it even fits the more over the top style George likes with the gorgeous silver ornamentation.
SO CLOSE - Sansa’s Northern Furs
Tumblr media
It’s the necklace. I hate that ficking necklace it ruins the whole look. It’s ugly, it clashes with the top, the bottom of the chain is so random, it tanks every single Sansa outfit bc it sticks out so bad. At least make it black iron or something why is it so silver.
2. Arya’s Ned Stark homage
I’ve talked about it before so I won’t go on too long but I love LOVE the way tbis outfit is like Arya Realized, Arya’s Final Form. Being able to model herself off her father, having Needle around her hip, really leaning into a style that looks good and looks practical, and fits her well. Not trying to pass as a boy, as Cat, as No One, as Nan, but being fully ARYA STARK.
Tumblr media
1. SANSA DRAGONFLY GOWN SWEEEEEEEEP
Tumblr media
Once again, I want this on my body. The sleeves, the front layering, the design, the COLOR. The way it evokes the prince of dragonflies & jenny of oldstones aesthetic!!! I love how much she looks her age here too - it’s not too revealing, it’s not too grown up, but it’s not too simple either, it’s perfect for a maiden. also bonus but i love shae’s dress i think it’s really underrated. i love how it matches most of the stuff in Sansa’s wardrobe, I love that her personal style is like “upscale peasant” and i love the layers that seem to keep her warm as it gets colder. they look so adorable sitting next to each other, justice for the shae/sansa relationship!!!
Have you seen the Sharpe tv series? It’s about the Napoleonic Wars (it happened during Henry’s from forever life) Now I am imagining a forever abc and Sharpe crossover where Sharpe meets Henry as they are posted in Portugal 1809. Henry is a doctor posted on the front line so he can treat injured and sick soldiers.
Hello there, Anon. Unfortunately, no, I haven't seen the Sharpe TV series, sorry. I had never heard of it actually. Google tells me it's a British show from the 90's, with Sean Bean.
Here is the thing: I'm French. And funnily enough, British shows telling tales of the Napoleonic Wars from the British side aren't very popular on this side of the Channel...
Hornblower was never shown on French TV either. I watched it a couple years ago, because I fell in love with Ioan Gruffudd, but as much as I do enjoy Ioan's adorable smile and glorious curls, the anti-French feeling gets annoying (and it is even worse in the books).
1914 Freedom's Five (Limited series)
Victorex Prime or the Scarlet Centurion (a Kang variant) is bored of life in the 40th century, having conquered everything there is to conquer. He has now resorted to conquering various eras of the past to alleviate the boredom. He has been trying to conquer earth during the chaos of WWI, identified as a good point in earth's history. Suitably advanced, but no notable superheroes. He has future tech and future fighters and they are mistaken for ‘martians’ by the public.
The Time Variance Authority aren't pruning regularly yet as this is still the time war, though He Who Remains (not named in the show) has worked out the technology. They have to stop the Scarlet Centurion to finally bring about the sacred timeline. They've stopped him twice and he escaped both times. They know if he continues to mess with this timeline then time eaters (demons from outside of time) will eventually consume it anyway. We will see this take effect in Legion later on.
Revonna Renslayer, a time judge, wants to use the new technology to prune the timeline, Kang variant and all. Mobius wants to try something different to see if the timeline can be saved.
He tips off an obscure superhero team of the period and they take out a ‘martian’ tripod by themselves, proving to Renslayer that there is a possibility to save this timeline.
Our heroes have to fight alongside the TVA against the invasion whilst simultaneously staving off being pruned by the same group.
The team are called ‘Freedom's Five’ (cringe) and consist of:
The Crimson Cavalier - Jean-Luc Batroc, an antecedent of Batroc the Leaper from CA:TWS. Equally adept at savate, swordsmanship and proto-parkour athleticism (studied under Georges Hérbert at Reims University in France). He was a criminal in peace time but fights for the freedom of France. (Played by David Belle).
Iron Fist - The Orson Randall version. Orson abandoned his post as protector of  the heavenly city of K'un Lun (luckily they replaced him before the city was attacked). Born in K'un Lun to an American father, he is headstrong and brash but also brave and protective of his comrades. He channels the mystical power from his fists into dual-wield pistols, extending the range and accuracy of his power as well as being an expert martial artist. He replaced the Silver Squire in the Squad. (Played by Brandon Lee).
Phantom Eagle - Karl Kaufmann. American born German who fights for the allies. The aceiest of flying aces and skilled at hand to hand combat too. (Played by Dolph Lundgren)
Sir Steel - Ned Chapel, a Yorkshire blacksmith, worked on the Armatage Estate and was bequeathed the enchanted armour Sir Steel. He is a master swordsman and has near invulnerability from his enchanted armour. His sidekick the Silver Squire is currently injured and therefore absent from the team. (Played by Sean Bean)
Union Jack - A young Lord James Montgomery Falsworth. Studied at Reims with Jean-Luc. Equally adept at the proto-parkour style of athleticism. Dead shot with a pistol and skilled at hand to hand combat. Sometimes converses in French with Jean-Luc. (Played by JJ Feild. Though I'm tempted to replace him with an age appropriate Nigel Havers).
TVA characters:
Judge Revonna Renslayer
Agent Mobius M. Mobius
General Dox
Hunter B-15
Hunter C-20
Hunter X-5
Various hunters and agents, maybe some clerical workers back at the TVA.
Other characters:
Lady Falsworth, the fiancée of James who holds a secret (she is Inhuman).
John Falsworth, younger brother of Lord James. Irked at being second in line for the title.
Ursula Frankenstein, John's love interest, has an ulterior motive for being with John. She is close to making a breakthrough in reanimation and is willing to go to whoever will fund her, including Hydra and mysterious cults.
Scarlet Centurion's warriors
Also Military types of the era
In the end they succeed, with TVA having to wipe everyone's memories of future tech and time travel. The government, with limited information, pass it off as a massive German bombing raid.
The Freedom's Five know it wasn't that, but they don't know what it was.
Back at the TVA, Mobius is disappointed that they had to take their victory away from them. Renslayer reminds him that was the only thing that saved them from being pruned.
One Team Loses Twice During Dueling Syracuse, Buffalo Bills Games
What are the chances your NFL team and alma mater play on the same Thursday?  If you’re me, it’s 100 percent.  Events sometimes line up, though rarely in the way you’d wish.  The Buffalo Bills playing at the same time as Syracuse University’s varsity football side created a viewing dilemma at the oddest time.  Having one team scheduled on an unlikely football night wasn’t enough.  The other helped by not trying particularly hard.
Half of those I cheered for competed.   The college side helpfully embarrassed itself to the point where former players turned on the coach, which made settling on one broadcast easier.  Syracuse played like community college might be more its speed, which I hope doesn’t devalue my degree.
I played remote roulette.  Orange lost.  The channel settled naturally on the team which played through part of the second half, not the one that quit before kickoff.  I was more disciplined about studying on Friday nights than present students are while playing an extracurricular.
In marginally more impressive results, the Bills won despite not meeting their honor roll potential.  Present host and commercial darling Ryan Fitzpatrick should’ve stayed after the game in his adopted hometown to begin his career as offensive coordinator.  They’ll wave the mandatory shirt requirement in the box.
Listening to fans seems like an unwise course.  But it beats Ken Dorsey listening to himself.  Everyone in the stands knows the quarterback running enables everything else.  Second place in the 50/50 raffle should get to be offensive coordinator.  The franchise should stop running whatever contest Dorsey won to get his job.
Josh deciding to be Josh fittingly led to the first touchdown.  A dash didn’t seem to be the call, which means they won without Dorsey’s counsel.  The real coordinator stands behind center and does as he pleases, which is fine if it just happens to be the right thing.  Trusting workers to discern proper reactions to conditions leads to way more productivity than micromanaging.
The first led to the second.  Josh’s threat to dash scared the defender tasked personally with stopping him.  He exposed the spy’s identity, who was stuck between admitting his was caught and seeking shelter.  The threat for a quarterback sneak ruined Tampa’s attempt at intrigue.  As with Hacksaw Jim Duggan’s 2x4, you just have to make them think you might use it.
Staying in shotgun to start the second quarter reflects how dedication may not be admirable.  Seeing the formation fail at the goal line to end the first 15 minutes meant a commercial break to ponder errors.  Get behind getting behind center.  Sometime, the obvious thing is the best course of action.  If you interview Buzz Aldrin, you really should ask about the Moon.
Fans became even more appreciative of the quarterback if you thought that wasn’t possible.  Josh Allen’s visit to the medical tent thankfully was over as quickly as my visits to a camping tent.  A few of our most apprehensive seconds showed he’s even more valuable than realized.
Everyone also adores Stefon Diggs, which is why it’s imperative that he not gain every yard himself.  Using options like Gabe Davis and Khalil Shakir opens up even more ground for someone who obtains quite a bit on his own.  Spreading the ball makes life easier for Buffalo’s undisputed top option, as defenses have to focus on routes other than his both during games and practices.
Noticing who’s not there is telling.  Infamous underachiever Josh Norman left his 87th birthday party to join the Bills and was still a better option than Kaiir Elam.  Brandon Beane couldn’t even sell the bust at the trade deadline with a spiel about needing a fresh start.
Each respective club would do better with other coaches.  Dino Babers’s only skill is keeping an undeserved job.  As for a milder case of incompetence, Sean McDermott has a habit of keeping games competitive.  Growing timid at the time he should go bold keeps him from true success.  The league wants parity, but that doesn’t mean the Bills must help pursue the goal.
Scoring seven points in the second half reflects wasted potential.  The teachers are the underachievers, not the students.  It’s human nature to back off.  And it’s a coach’s job to prevent against same nature.  There’s nothing normal about accelerating at virtually superhuman speeds into collisions, yet that happens every play for well-led squads.
A quarterback getting it done contrasted with a coach who should be done.  The Bills succeeded despite having a short week to prepare while Syracuse failed despite having a long one.
Making it thrilling through the end was a nice way to extend excitement, I guess.  Some people might have felt confident that a foe couldn’t travel 80 yards in 21 seconds.  But some people aren’t Bills fans, who have learned to not take anything for granted in life or football.
This game is not entirely fun.  There are bound to be some ups and downs.  You may have noticed life features shockingly more of the latter, which is baffling simply from the perspective of thinking things surely leveling out.  Other fanbases have experienced joy at our expense.  It’s practically school policy.  As for the more thoroughly pro level, the Bills are finally winning somewhat frequently despite their best efforts.
Even improving times could be better.  Syracuse football is having a tough century, and a coach who’s done for the program what the Hindenburg did for blimp safety is not going to learn how the game works during his eighth season.
By contrast, the Bills might appear to be in the midst of a similar run if you choose a random season in it.  Their present winning record is abnormal over time.  A high percentage of seasons with a low percentage of wins would’ve been avoidable if coaches noticed players’ strengths.  Failing that, Josh will have to keep winning by ignoring their to-do list.
Even at my ripe old age, I can still catch Pokemon Fever (do they even still call it that?). While replaying all the Pokemon games I have for Switch (basically all of them except for Legends), I was getting nostalgic for the AniPoke side of things, especially after watching these neat retrospectives of the anime by Jordan Fringe on YouTube. He even talks about the movies, which really sparked my interest.
Did you know Amazon Prime Video has a Pokemon channel? For like $3 a month (or a free one week trial) you can watch, like, 10 Pokemon movies and some of the series. Honestly, aside from a few gems, it's not really worth it. I watched a few while on vacation at work to see what I've been missing since stepping away from the anime for such a long time. Pretty hit and miss, but I liked what I saw.
Oh, and slight SPOILER WARNING, I guess (Diancie, Lucario, Giratina).
Tumblr media
The first one I saw was Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction. I mainly wanted to see this one so I could finally know how to properly pronounce Yveltal, one of my favorite Pokemon. Ee-vell-tahl. There ya go. Anyway, aside from that bit of info, I wasn't too into this one. The plot revolved around Ash and friends getting wrapped up in a plot between two (or three?) different parties going after Diancie for...some reason. Kinda missed why. There were cute Carbink butlers in it and such, but this really didn't do much for me. I couldn't get attached to the characters because they had zero development throughout the thing, even though clearly there was something going on between Greninja guy and Delphox lady (which gets cleared up post-credits...I guess). Also it was at this point of the series where I completely checked out, so I don't know much about Ash's X/Y friends. I dunno, they seem nice. With characters I don't know or care about and my disconnect with this part of the series, I couldn't get too into this one. It was fine, but nothing too memorable for me.
Although I will say it felt a little odd hearing the Carbink say "Princess Diancie." They knew what they were doing there.
Tumblr media
The next one was Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. Quite a step backwards, but after hearing the current voices of the anime, I got nostalgic for the good ol' 4kids actors. Say what you will about 4kids (and you're definitely right) but they did Pokemon very well, especially as the series went on. This movie didn't disappoint in that regard, as all the main character voices are well in their prime during this one...it was so nice to hear them again. Though the guy who did Prince Aaron's voice wasn't really at the top of his game in terms of actual acting. He sounded stilted and just plain weird throughout his entire performance. But then again, he was always like that in all of his performances. He used a pseudonym in the voice credits, so I'm guessing even he didn't like what he did here. I'm onto you "J. Grif." A Sonic The Hedgehog fan never forgets.
But anyway, this movie was far more enjoyable than the Diancie one, and not even because of the nostalgia factor. The production values in this movie seemed higher than Diancie, and the writing was more engaging, too. Plus Mew is in it; everyone likes Mew. Plus you got Sean Schemmel voicing Lucario, who naturally does a good anime voice job. Couldn't really sense any Goku in his Lucario voice, but I guess I don't have to. I GUESS. At any rate, this one was a fun one. I recommend it.
Tumblr media
Lastly, for now at least, I watched Giratina and the Sky Warrior. I'm guessing this was a "part 2" of a movie-centric narrative involving the Gen 4 box legendaries, so a few details went over my head. It didn't seem necessary to know all the details to follow what was going on here, though. It was nice to see Dawn's Piplup again; I forgot about how lovable that sassy little bugger is. Speaking of, I really like Shaymin in this movie. They're just full of beans throughout the entire movie, being super snooty and giving Ash the business constantly. I'd probably get annoyed by this thing if it stayed with the series, but as a movie-only character, Shaymin was pretty fun. Well worth the watch just for them.
There was one disappointment in this movie, though, but more on a personal level: I really only wanted to see this movie because I saw it had Regigigas in it. I thought I'd be able to hear his stupid fun scratched-CD-sounding-ass robot voice in it, but...no. I mean Regigigas was in the movie, but 1.) only had a bit part and B.) had a relatively "normal" voice. Lame. Apparently it was the Hoopa movie I was after for that incredible performance. That one's gonna be next...as well as the Arceus movie, because I vaguely remember them giving Arceus a fucking dorky weiner voice. You know, the proper voice for God Almighty. lol
Better get more of these B-level Pokemon movies in before I'm burnt out on the franchise again (and before my free week trial is over).
BEST TV OF 2022 PART 4
Final part
I did watch some really good foreign language dramas this year – KaDaWe (about a group of friends in 1920s Berlin), Senorita 89 (about a group of Mexican beauty queens involved in a murder) and The Longest Night (Spanish drama about a prison siege which I hope they do another season of).
There was also the Australian drama about a news channel in the 1980s called The Newsreader and the return of some of my favourite American dramas such as The Blacklist, Gossip Girl, Euphoria, and The Handmaid’s Tale.
I was pleased to see the return of The Great (about Catherine the Great) + I thought the 2nd series was even better than the 1st. Plus All Creatures Great + Small which is comfort TV at its finest. A couple of new shows which I really loved were The English (a Western w/Emily Blunt) + SAS Rogue Heroes (set during WW2 and starring Jack O’ Connell among others).
I loved the adaptations of Everything I Know About Love, This is Going to Hurt and Heartstopper but I was less keen of Life After Life (altho’ I did enjoy the Joe Black cameo).
 Gentleman Jack, Peaky Blinders, The Split and Killing Eve all returned for their final series. Plus, I was glad to see Industry got another series (I do hope it continues).
For shows that seamlessly blend comedy and emotional drama, there was the return of Brassic, I Hate Suzie, The Outlaws, and Ackley Bridge.
New shows included Marriage (w/Sean Bean + Nicola Walker showing the mundane crises of a long term relationship), Chivalry (again, I really liked it tho’ it got slagged off a fair bit), Somewhere Boy (about a boy whose father has kept him isolated and how he deals with suddenly being thrust into the wider world), Skint (a series of monologues about people’s experiences of poverty), Cheaters (great show w/the excellent Susan Wokona in bite-size episodes), Then Barbara Met Alan (the true life story of a couple of disability activists) and my personal favourite, Mood (about an aspiring musician who ends up doing sex work after being drawn into the toxic influencer world).
Intense cavalry training | Sean Bean on Waterloo
Having played the lead role in Sharpe, Sean Bean is perfectly placed to tell the story of Waterloo, one of history’s most decisive battles. Here, in episode 2, Sean finds out the special techniques and clever tricks the allied cavalry employed in their battle against Napoleon.
Most importantly, he looks at swords!
