𝚖𝚢 𝚝𝚛𝚞𝚎 𝚏𝚊𝚕𝚜𝚎 𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚎
i love being loved; i'd love to love too
just as roses are red and violets blue
but deep down you know that part just isn't true
and "i love you" to me's not "i love you" to you
listen, that isn't to say
"i don't care for your thoughts"
"i don't care for your day"
i love you, yet not. not in the right way
and don't get me wrong, i care for you still
but our love's not the same, so what can i do?
i'm surely a conman, poor victim of mine
but a sorry's so hollow, so i sit here and whine
"i love you" i scream, with all of my heart
i think i'm a liar; i know i am not
greed is a sin- this must be divine
is my love to be punished? are my feelings some crime?
i love being loved; i'd love to love too
spoke honeyed words
sweet falsehoods for you
and, i suppose, if i'm honest
i prayed for the day
i'd say "i love you too", but in the right way
[by me lol]

Lovesick:
A punk term coined in relation to aro to describe both an affinity and rejection for “love” and its associated concepts ; love, romanticism, or otherwise assumed “romantic” actions or feelings, pushed past it’s limit, often to to the point of repulsion or it feeling sickening ; traditional lovesickness experienced in an unconventional or transversive way [Term was made with romance repulsed romo aros and aros who got torn between loveless and arolovic in mind, but it isn’t exclusive to aros. Lovesick is a punk term and may apply to anyone, the definition is descriptive for the people already using it. If you feel it applies you can use it.]

Aside from possibly attending a(n unrelated) protest in the evening
Do you folks have any suggestions what one could do to celebrate “anti-valentines”?
I might just treat myself to cake if I find nothing better
I don’t have friends who I could spend a “palentine’s day” with and while I’m sort of a romo aro (and certainly partnering aro), I’m in a mood to stick it to the system recently
(That last but feels so silly but no clue how to word it differently)
I will be wearing one of my aro pride hoodies, definitely, and I do have green hair 😁
And I might post some alterous/ queerplatonic pining on my writing sideblog but that’s not relevant
💚💛🧡💙

Romance favorable demiromantic culture is putting lots of effort into writing a romance between two demirose characters to comfort yourself and then worrying what the rest of the aro community will think

There is honestly no more arospike song than Halley’s Comet by Billie Eilish. I don’t want it and I don’t want to want you. Halley’s Comet comes around more than I do. I was good at feeling nothing now I’m helpless. What a drag to love you like I do. I think I might have fallen in love, what am I to do?

Romance is neutral. Love is neutral.
And this goes both ways. Romance is not some evil, weird (/neg) thing. Love is not inherently abusive. etc.
The aro community sincerely has a romance and love negativity problem, one that is pushing out those that enjoy or enjoy experiencing romance or love.
That's not to push out loveless or heartless or repulsed folks out of the community. Hell, one can be loveless, or heartless, or repulsed and still enjoy or enjoy experiencing romance or love.
But the romance and love negativity must be addressed.

It’s honestly so funny to me that my almost completely aromantic ass will suddenly become the most alloromantic person in the world whenever 2 fictional video game elves so much as look at each other

Writing aro characters is easy but not for the reasons you may think. Sure, aros could be romance repulsed, nonpartnering, preferring friendships and family over romance. But there are so many aros in our community who are partnering, who adore romance, who have no strong feelings on it! Romo aros may even date! There are so many aplaros who don't feel that platonic attraction that draws folks in! There are heartless and loveless aros whose differing opinions on love of any form challenges the status quo! And alloaros are especially underrepresented in positive ways since they are often times depicted as predatory, sexual deviants.
So what brings such a diverse group together? What unites us is our romantic attraction felt differently from allos, or not at all. That's how you write an aro character- you write a character who experiences romance differently than their peers. Or you write a character that does not experience it whatsoever. That's what an aro character is.
If you're alloro and you want to write an aro character? Follow culture blogs. Aro culture, loveless aro culture, etc. Browse the tags of whoever you want to represent! Learn about other aro's experiences! And of course you can still write that nonpartnering, romance repulsed aro who champions platonic love and finds sex boring or gross. But know the roots of the identity before you work with it!

Sexuaro ( sexual aromantic )
An umbrella term for Aros / Arospecs whose attraction, actions, experiences, and/or feelings could be considered sexual.
Some examples are being sex-favorable, experiencing sexual attraction ( e.g. aroallos, aromantic demisexuals, aroacespecs, etc. ), or desiring/being in sexual relationships. Intentionally broad and welcome to those questioning in any way.
Made for anon, format based off of the Sexuace flags but using my general Sexu- flag for the bottom stripes so it's more visually distinct from this Romoaro flag.
