Fizz Character Analysis (Spoiler Warning)

So when I was watching the newest episode of Helluva Boss, I will admit that I was slightly confused by Fizz’s explanation for why he felt he couldn’t quit working for Mammon. After all we saw that Asmodeus was trying to get him to quit working for him already and had spoken of how much he despised the man. So why does Fizz think that Ozzie will leave him or he’ll lose everything if he quits

However, when you look at the circumstances of Fizz’s life leading up to know and the influences he has around them, this actually does make a lot of sense for his character.

Chronologically speaking, we can see that at the beginning of his life in childhood, Fizz was already a child star in the circus, and was well loved and admired for his talents. He completely outperforms and overshadows Blitzo, and garners the attention of his father, Cash Buckzo. It’s been a running joke that Cash far prefers Fizz as a son because he is better than him and rakes in a lot more of a profit. But, we can understand this isn’t real affection, Cash assigns worth to being a good performer and being able to provide something to someone else in order to be loved. Fizz is overworked and under a lot of pressure in this kind of environment

This pops up again, when we see Fizz as a teenager. The pressure of being perfect is starting to get to him and he struggles to establish firm boundaries with others as we see with that rabid fan. Blitzo was the one who had to step in when he got aggressive, and even though everything that fan said was bullshit, his words still deeply affected Fizz.

Jumping forward again in the timeline, we see that Fizz has been picked up my Mammon as a performer. And again, all boundaries are gone as he makes robotic versions of Fizz to be sold all over hell for all manner of uses, and most commonly in the form of sex dolls. This very obviously makes Fizz incredibly uncomfortable but because he feels he owes his success to Mammon it is harder to turn him down without the backup that Blitzo provided to him when they were young.

And based on his treatment in the present day, Mammon Regularly

Scrutinizes his weight and appearance

Touches and manhandles him

Puts him through dangerous stunts

Forces him to talk to crowds of people when he’s already tired or stressed

Makes him deal with sexual harassment

Putting him into costumes that feel restrictive

And most likely he was already dealing with this kind of thing long before he even met Asmodeus and began to date him. The mindset he grew up with in childhood is being reinforced in this time frame. He is worthless if he isn’t performing, he always has to be striving to be better, he needs Mammon.

Another factor to keep in mind, is that while we don’t know this exactly, fizz has just come out of being severely disabled and traumatized by what happened in the fire with him losing his limbs and horns. And with the theory that Mammon was the one who initially provided him with his new robotic attachments, he would have to be feeling a lot of gratitude towards him for this. His image of himself coming out of this is fragile with this new version of his body to come to turns with, on top of losing his best friend. Making him extremely vulnerable and easy to take advantage of.

Then jumping forward again, we see that fizz has started a relationship with Asmodeus, one of the deadly sins, ranked only under Lucifer and his family. Both of them care very deeply for each other and have established very strong mutual trust and boundaries. Albeit, they do have to keep this secret (even tho they are very bad at doing this). Ozzie is protective of Fizz’s safety considering he is ranked much lower than him in hell’s hierarchy and that much more vulnerable to being hurt. This is one of the first positive relationships that fizz has been able to enjoy in a long time, and you can see that Ozzie has sort of filled the hole that blitz left (no pun intended). He acts as that barrier/voice that keeps him from people who cross his boundaries.

And while we can see that Ozzie is an amazing, loving partner to him, this isn’t going to fix the years upon years of problems he’s faced. His childhood, teen years, and a portion of his adulthood have been in the spotlight with managers exploiting him for profit. It is all he knows and they’re going to make sure he can’t leave.

Think about how Mammon knew that Fizz and Ozzie were an item. Think of how he would be talking to him in private telling him that Ozzie could leave him at any point because he’s just some imp. That without his fame and talents that he is nothing. The bottom of hell’s hierarchy.

One of the strongest elements to Helluva Boss’s storytelling is the way they lay out hints and background details that allow audiences to put together the story without it having to be exactly spelled out to us. And I think that is what they have done here, even if the pacing of the show can be a bit off at times. When we go back and rewatch the episodes that feature fizz we can see begin to see how he got to this point in his life and what it took for him to break out of it.

I have no one to talk to about Tokyo Rev so here r my random hot takes that I need to say:

- Emma and Hina r boring and used as romance plot devices it’s okay to admit that Wakui can’t write women idk I don’t expect shounen/men to be able to write girls well (still cried when Emma died tho bc she didn’t deserve it!!!)

- lol I LOVE Yuzuha and Senju tho

- I actually do like Emma and Draken together but I also firmly believe Draken is in love w/Mikey and was just projecting onto Emma LMAO

- Yuzuha is a lesbian

- Controversial: I don’t think Shinchiro was THAT great of an older brother. Like he was cool but he still introduced Mikey and Izana into the world of gang life/normalizing violence and yeah OG Black Dragons isn’t like that but….what do u expect when u form a gang??? .obviously there’s a high chance that it’s gonna develop into LEGIT gang activity

- As an adult and someone who was basically raised by an older sibling w/a big age gap (my sis is 7 years older) I kinda don’t blame Takeomi for being a bad older brother??? Realistically he’s a 17 yr old in charge of raising 2 toddlers like NO SHIT he did a bad job. At least Shin had his grandfather to help out but Takeomi actually had no one. Doesn’t explain y he’s a brokey LOL buttttt again I don’t FULLY blame him for being a bad sibling still hurt my boi Sanzu 😤😤

- I HC that Mikey is used to having a caretaker (Draken and later Sanzu) bc when Shin died he was so depressed and genuinely couldn’t get out of bed

- Takemitchy is also lowkey boring/typical shounen protagonist and canonically stinky like Hina could do sm better. This is personal preference so I find myself wanting more chaotic/dumb protagonists who are slightly morally ambiguous like Denji, Gintoki, hell even Naruto at times. Takemitchy didn’t get character development until BD arc and that’s just a bit too long for me….

- Koko and Inui r gay and dating 💅🏻💅🏻💅🏻

- the Haitani brothers r the kardashians of the TR universe they’re so embarrassing Deadass show up and pose/do absolutely nothing I LOVE THEM SHKSKSKSK

- I love how it’s universally agreed that Mitsuya and Chifuyu r the best bois

- I have mixed feelings about Izana. I genuinely do like him and DESPISE how he’s whitewashed by fanart

- I get it u genuinely just wanted to not be alone and found out ur adopted in the worst way possible but…..idk how that justifies killing ur own sister but u do u ig 🤷‍♀️ and u have KAKUCHO AS UR FAMILY WTH

- don’t listen to me tho I’m a Mikey and Sanzu stan LMAOO 🤭🤭🤭

- Izana is the definition of mommy issues and 100% had crunchy hair lik mans was homeless

- wished the Bonten arc was longer simply for the outfits bc Wakui KNOWS FASHION but that shit was DEPRESSION

- 3 Deities Arc was amazing and also funny/serious at the same time. It literally was an all out brawl in an AMUSEMENT PARK

- fr tho wtf was Benkei, Wakasa and Takeomi doing there??? Like they’re canonically 27 GO GET A JOB STOP FIGHTING 15 YEAR OLDS SHKSKSKS

- U cannot tell me that Sanzu WASNT sad when Baji and Mucho died.

- Baji was straight up his childhood friend and the only one other than Senju who knows about the plane incident/Mikey’s possessive side. And In the OG!timeline I’m pretty sure Baji was the only friend Sanzu DIDNT attack. While with Mucho he was pretty much his older brother, Sanzu just decided Mikey was better

- Tbh if the dark impulses/Shin thing wasn’t real I would’ve firmly believed Mikey had DID or something. Which again made only worse by the fact that violence and death is such a regular thing in his life (GET THIS MAN THERAPY LIK WTF IS SHIN AND GRANDPA SANO DOING???)

- Kazutora going a lil crazy is lowkey expected and I hate how we only find out about his home life in the character books. This kid grew up in a physically and mentally abusive household (gaslight to pick between parents and as s/o who has experienced that shit it’s fucked up) and I rlly don’t think prison helped out his mental stability either no shit he tried to kill Mikey

- I don’t ship Mikey and Takemichy (despite the IMMENSE gay ness btwn them) firmly bc I think everyone can see how much power Takemitchy has over Mikey idk it has a weird power dynamic like if Takemitchy tried he could 100% control Mikey (platonically or romantically)

- Baji, Chifuyu and Kazutora r a throuple

- I HATE how Sanzu is reduced to this crazy drug addict. Sanzu is canonically smart, manipulative, and formally trained fighter. He also REMEMBERS the OG timeline, he had to experience Shin dying twice and everyone else die no shit he’s a little bonkers/needs drugs to take everything away. Plus his relationship to Mikey which tbh is a whole separate post

- controversial !!!: I ship Mikey and Sanzu or Mikey and Draken. Sanzu only bc this man has a big ass crush and deserves some niceness for once

- ppl write Kakucho as this shy, nice guy like ur not wrong but mans is also running UNPROVOKED into Yakuza offices like it’s the gym while dragging Rindou wit him 😭😭😭

- the haitanis r the best sibling duo

- It lowkey makes me mad in fanfics where Ran is depicted as cheating w/Rin’s gf like??? This man raised his younger brother himself u cannot tell me he doesn’t love his brother and would actually do that to him

- Ran would 1000% do anything for Rin and i firmly believe he kinda regrets not saying anything in court to prevent Rindou frm joining him in jail. Like saying he forced Rindou to kill someone w/him, abusing his brother at home, etc especially in the Bonten! tl he def thinks about wtf he dragged his brother into

- I also don’t think they’ve slept w/ the same person before. Idk I feel like they have diff types like Ran goes for more motherly/mature types while Rindou goes for sweeter/shy types

- Draken has road rage

- Yuzuha should’ve been taller like AT LEAST 5’7 bitch is related to Hakkai and Taiju for gods sake

- OG BD 100% thought Wakasa was a girl for at least a month. He’s canonically 5’3 and pretty.

- Characters who r 100% bisexual: WAKASA, Senju,maybe Hina, Draken (def in denial), Rindou, Ran (he’s a whore as long as ur pretty he’s down), Sanzu, Koko, Kazutora, Chifuyu

- Mitsuya had a crush on Draken

a/n: this concept has been rotting my brain. I thoroughly believe that Mammon and Micheal are almost identical. also not beta or proof read 😭 dialogue in bold.

“I promise I’ll be fine Mammon.” you reassured your demon. “But what if somethin’ happens to ya’ up there? What’ll I do huh? I gotta come.” “You are not going.” Lucifer quickly rebuffed. “Mammon it’s the Celestial Realm, it’s not dangerous. Plus I will be there with Simeon and Luke! They won’t let anything happen to me.” “I know it’s just… ugh I don’t like ya leaving me!”

Truth be told you wished Mammon was going with you on this trip. As annoying as he is, you loved your greedy demon, and he made you feel safe. You felt silly for being more nervous about being in heaven than in hell. Maybe you were the only human on earth who felt this way.

You had been to the Celestial Realm once before, but this was different. This time you were going to meet Michael. You were the representative for the human realm. You were a diplomat speaking on behalf of your entire race about relations between the three worlds to the Prince of Heaven, no biggy! It’s not like Diavolo’s reputation was on the line or you could accidentally start Armageddon or anything… God you wished Mammon could come.

This was going to be easy, you told yourself. Just a chat with an Angel! You talk to Simeon all the time and he likes you. What do you talk about with Micheal though? It’s not like you're the most fond of him. He’s caused a lot of problems for your Demons. You really loved them and anyone who hurt them was not a friend of yours, but you would suck it up.

“So what’s Micheal like?” You asked the Demons sitting around the dinner table in an attempt to stop Mammon from begging more. Plus it doesn’t hurt to be extra prepared.

“Well he has a surprisingly timid personality wise. He loves humans tho so you’ve already got that going for you.”

“Ok that’s good to know. Anything else I should know?”

“He likes sweets?”

“I already knew that, I made him some, but thanks anyways. I am going to get some rest, I have to meet your “brother” tomorrow and I want to make a good impression.”

“He’s real handsome too.” Mammon said under his breath, not loud enough for you to hear already walking away.

Although Mammon was the most vocal, they were all uncomfortable with you meeting Micheal. What if you liked him more than them? I mean he is an angel after all.

You knew that no matter how incredible this guy was, he would never compare to your boys. But it didn’t stop them from worrying. In fact, that night you woke up with at least 5 demons who came to your room sometime while you were asleep, clinging to you for dear life. You didn’t mind the cuddles.

You woke up to the sound of your alarm which you quickly silenced. You slipped out of the grasp of a certain gluttonous demon and got ready, careful not to wake them. Once you were ready you texted Simeon to come meet you at HoL so you could go.

Simeon and Luke picked you up, happy to see you. You honestly looked less than happy to see them. You felt bad, you loved being around them, it was just going to the celestial realm you were dreading.

You walked your way to RAD while Luke talked your ear off about all the sweets he’s going to make for you and Micheal at “home”.

His adorable puppy-like positivity cheered you up, if even a little. He also complimented the pastries you were bringing. Once you entered the student council room at RAD Diavalo opened a portal to the Celestial Realm. You stepped through with Simeon and Luke as he and Barbatos wished you luck. You felt like you might need it.

Once you got there your worries faded pretty quickly. There is a sense of serenity there that is contagious. It’s heaven. You were greeted by guards who you assume were Micheals staff that escorted you to the castle. Giant castle doors and endless hallways astounded you. It was pretty here. Finally you arrived at a cute little garden with outdoor seating and tea. Once there, the guards explained Micheal apologizes for his tardiness but was in a meeting and would be out shortly to greet you.

Your nerves somewhat settling made you realize you had to pee. You asked one of the guards where the nearest bathroom was and he didn’t respond. Jackaas. Simeon then explained it was down the hall and to the right. Simeon and Luke let you walk there on your own, this was a safe place after all.

While you walked down the giant hallway you were greeted with a man who happened to be going the opposite direction. Wait.. Is that?

MAMMON??

You quickly grabbed him and pulled him into the closest room, the bathroom.

“Mammon what in the Devildom are you doing here?? Did Lucifer send you?”

The man went to open his mouth but you cut him off

“-Of course he didn’t. He wouldn’t risk Diavalo’s reputation or your safety. Ugh Mammon I told you that you couldn’t come! Why do you never listen.” You say, dramatically banging your head on his chest.

“God I really gotta get you out of here. I am just about to meet with Micheal. If he’s anything like the guards I’ve met so far he’s probably a real stick in the mud. Ok I’m gonna go meet with Micheal and you get out of here while he’s distracted. And you BETTER not steal anything! Seriously if you steal anything you’ll receive a punishment from me that will make even Lucifer tremble. Be careful though.” You said the last part a little more gently.

Surprisingly he smirked? Such a masochist

You cupped his cheek with a smirk on your face “By the way, this Angel costume really suits you. Even in white you’re devilishly handsome.” You said before kissing him

“I don’t know about the wig though.” You winked at him and left the bathroom, hurrying back to Simeon and Luke.

Something about that interaction just now was.. off? First of all he tasted off, sweeter maybe? Plus Mammon is a huge loudmouth and he was totally stunned into silence. It’s not like it’s the first time you two have kissed. In fact you have done a lot more…

Whatever he was probably just off because he was caught in the act. You walked back to Simeon and Luke and acted as if nothing had happened. You couldn’t tell them, even if they were willing to help it could get them in trouble.

Minutes passed while you three chatted, drank tea, and ate the little cookies that were laid out. Suddenly the sound of footsteps approaching tore you from your conversation. To your horror the person entering the room was Mammon! You told him to run, what’s he doing?

If you weren’t horrified before you, your soul just about left your body when the little blonde boy seated next to you got up and hugged him screaming “Micheal! Micheal, I missed you!”

Oh god(?) no.

You can’t think of a deity to pray to for mercy before the man approaches you timidly with his hand out, for you to shake…?

“I’m so sorry.” You say dropping to your knees.

You were sure that your shame and embarrassment was going to kill you right here right now. At Least you're in Heaven right! This is worse than anything you have ever experienced in the Devildom.

Ten minutes ago you were worried about whether you should greet him with “Hi!” or “Hello!” and you now realize you greeted him with your tongue down his throat.

Simeon and Luke share a confused look while Micheal blushes more furiously than he was before. You look up at him but he avoids your gaze.

He really is like Mammon.

You had practically assaulted the guy and here he was trying to be nice. (I mean is it that surprising though? He’s an angel.) You're probably just embarrassing him further.

You stood up, dusted off your knees, and looked him in the eyes. You mustered up everything you had to speak clearly and shake his still hanging hand.

“Hello. I am MC, the diplomat representing the Human Realm. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

“I’m Michael” is all he said in response.

Simeon was confused but understood more than Luke who was totally lost.

“Uhm.. are you gonna say anything else Micheal.” Luke said, trying to break this awkward silence.

“I have Macarons!” You said.

Micheal’s interested seemed to be peaked by that.

“Well then, let’s eat.” Micheal said, sitting opposite of you at the table.

You had honestly already eaten but you would happily stuff your face if it meant you didn’t have to speak right now. After the food was all gone Simeon (being the angel he is) offered to take the plates. Luke of course insisted on helping him.

Leaving you and Micheal…

“Those Macarons, did you make them?” Micheal asked

“Uhm yeah! Barbatos and Luke taught me but I put my own spin on them. They’re raspberry ganache.”

“They were divine, I must have the recipe.” He said with a small smile

“Yeah for sure, I’ll have Luke give it to you!”

…more silence

“So about earlier I wanted to say-“

“It’s ok. Really” He said, cutting you off this time.

“Mammon and I were often mistaken for each other when he was an angel, so I understand. Plus I really did not mind the uhm… kiss” He said, clearing his throat

“Oh!” You said, literally not knowing what else to say.

“I also do hope you enjoy your time here. I wouldn’t want to ruin your trip. I hope I’m not a um.. what was it you said? “Stick in the mud.”

You assaulted and insulted him. Nice going MC.

“Oh no you’re not! I’m not just saying that either. You’re really sweet, I was just really nervous about meeting you and the guard seemed like he didn’t like me so I was even more worried. I have been seriously stressed for days about meeting you. Believe it or not I actually practiced meeting you a bunch.”

He laughed

“Sorry I know that’s kind of weird.” You said thinking you may have overshared a bit.

“No no… It’s fine it’s just humorous that you thought I wouldn’t like you. You're quite the wildcard but I find you fascinating. I've never met a human quite like you.”

“Is that good?”

“Perhaps.” He said, smiling.

The rest of the day went swimmingly. The ice between you and Michael had been

thoroughly broken. You spent the rest of the day chatting with Simeon and Luke and Micheal and baking some treats.

Right before it was time to go Micheal pulled you aside for a moment.

“You are quite captivating, I hope you come and visit again soon. I am old so this may be surprising, but I admit that was my first kiss. I hope one day we can have a second.” He whispered into your ear.

You blushed furiously “Hope to see you again!”

It’s safe to say you made quite the impression. Still though, you would take your Demon over angel anyday.

“MAMMONNNN”

“Ya’ sound like Lucifer! What’s the problem?”

“You didn’t think that Micheal looking exactly like you with a ponytail may have been an important detail to mention?”

“Well I told you he was handsome” He smirked.

“Oh MC how did it go!!” Asmo beamed

“Oh it went alright! I am officially the first ever being to have FRENCHED GOD.”

thinkign about character conflict... rowan & seb getting into fights HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!! rowan is totally the type of person to put things off for later where he's like "oh i have alot of time to do this don't worry about it!!!" then keeps putting it off until it becomes a Real Issue. sebastian is the type of person who Gets Shit Done Quick (very good with meeting deadlines esp due to his freelance programming job).

when seb is dissatisfied with something he's very blunt & to the point about it, whereas rowan is the type to think more with his right brain, react emotionally, then think about the issue later & regret the things he said/did n feel immense guilt over it. seb resorts to avoidance and doesn't think about something if he thinks it's going to make him feel shitty. basically rowan automatically takes things to heart rather than approaching smth level-headedly or logically which either leads to emotional outbursts or kicking himself Way more than he needs to. sebastian is very blunt without thinking what he says can hurt people (partially because he expects everyone to understand how he thinks even though he doesn't communicate properly 💀) and resorts to passive-aggression, vaguing, & avoidance. when it comes to sorting out messy feelings or talking things out he is Incredibly bad at confrontation HAHA

it's interesting how they contrast bc rowan is more emotionally aware/mature than seb is, but seb is more rational/pragmatic than rowan is. they're not perfect in those fields tho they r Suuuuper flawed LOL just more capable in one field than the other. they balance each other out tho <3 when rowan apologizes for smth he did he tends to be like a guilty puppy except he's a big dog so just picture like. a german shepherd hanging its head down low. and seb quietly goes like No... i'm sorry too. and all is well in the world. they're all smiley and somewhere out there abigail gags. hooray!!!!

Can I ask how you view Brunim and Forever's relationship since you mentioned it in your last post? You said you viewed it as toxic on both ends and that it messed Forever up, can you go into more detail?

(as always, /rp, not irl) Also go here for more hcs on q!Forever's relationships this ask is referencing!

Okay so!! Like I said before in that posts tags, I dont know a WHOLE lot about the canon relationship between q!Forever and... c!Brunim? q!Brunim? Whatever, I dont know the canon but from what iv seen, in rp its very much not healthy. So I ended up building my own hcs for them and idk how accurate they are canon wise but I still like em regardless so im sticking to em lol!

(Tw for talks of abuse, toxic relationships, and unhealthy relationships!)

So first thing to note; These guys were really fucked up, toxic, and probs abusive in several places. They started out softer, kinder, safer, but it did not stay that way. Still, know that they loved each other regardless.

In my head, Brunim was very much the aggressor, and the one who started being toxic, abusive, and obsessive about Forever, and was worse about it. Forever ended up becoming toxic and doing toxic/shitty/obsessive things in turn as a by product. I wont say Brunim was the only one who had issues and did bad things but Forever only ended up becoming like that becuase Brunim taught him that's how he showed love in their relationship, so he showed it that way back ya know?

But thing is they stopped being happy, stopped awhile ago in fact and realized they couldn't keep doing this to each other, hurting each other, for both their sakes. Its hard to recognize you are doing something wrong, and it was even harder to let go, for real this final time, and only through help did they manage it but they did.

But the thing is, Brunim was Forever's first real relationship, and it had messed him up. Untangling yourself from that sort of thing is fucking hard, knowing where the line is or where something is toxic and unhealthy romantic wise (or even in general) is even harder when its pretty much your only real frame of reference and unlearning all that shit is hard and takes time too.

So when Forever got to the island, while he's made leaps and bounds from where he use to be, enough he can mess around and even joke with someone who reminds him of Brunim without actually having issues with it (at least at first lol), is still in the process of trying to unlearn his more unhealthy behaviors and expectations.

That's where some of his more concerning phrases or claims come from, either not knowing the line as he crosses it due to skewed misconceptions, saying it jokingly becuase he'd never actually go through with it (though probs shouldn't of said it regardless but hey that's coping with trauma for ya), or knowing the line but crossing it anyways on impulse and having to pull back becuase he doesn't mean it/regrets it. He would never on purpose dip back into those toxic behaviors but like I said, still unlearning and understanding those.

Forever would never actually go through with anything toxic, abusive, or unhealthy for the most part on purpose btw, if that wasn't clear.

There is a little bit, like mentioned in the main post, where when he does start to catch feelings it is becuase of him confusing Brunim with Phil, but Forever does beginning to actually fall for him and it takes a bit to fully separate them, and his expectations of it all. But hell he cant stop loving Phil even if he does eventually see Phil will not change his mind about Forever loving him.

But anyhoo enough about the main thing, smaller but still important stuff-

Like I said Brunim was Forever's first real relationship, and they did actually love each other under all the shit it became. Didn't mean any of what happened was okay tho.

Brunim is a vampire, and fed off regularly of Forever. He didn't have issues with it at first but quickly became painful and a bad time.

(tw for scars and a bit of gore) Forever actually has a horrific scar on his neck from the feedings, though its hard to tell if it becuase Brunim would very slightly shift around where he would bite in to feed over time so it became a mass of scar tissue, or if he ripped out a chunk of Forever's flesh for whatever reason. Forever usually keeps it covered but it burns sometimes.

Brunim's way of punishing Forever was usually to lock him up until he behaved again, specially if they were on "break" and Brunim wanted Forever back. Hence why Forever uttered "lock you up until love me." He wasn't serious about it but later feels sick he said it even jokingly.

Forever is surprisingly mentally stable despite all this and has worked hard on his mental health, thanks to therapy. Most of his issues, like I said, come from trying to unlearn all that toxic shit and unhealthy behaviors.

They really miss each other but tbh its more they miss what they had before, as well as the comfort in the not being alone despite the pain. Regardless Forever will never go back to Brunim, even if they both change for the better.

Kai: every once in a while i think about what if Kaito realized he has no actual fucking clue who Shuichi really is. like he considers him his friend and insists he knows alot about him, but one day he realizes that a large chunk of what he "knows" about Shuichi is either assumptions he came up with and forgot were assumptions, or are things Shuichi masks with and aren't really true about him. i just love the idea of Kaito suddenly getting his whole view on Shuichi shattered and having to totally reevaluate how to be his friend

Hina: Kaito isn't a bad friend but man sjsksksk

in my heart of hearts (in which Kaito goes to hell no matter what) he is tho, I think he'd get in denial about it instead [the convo has been going in the direction of Kaito trying to get to know him for real & prove himself as a friend], and most likely try to instill in Shuichi and everyone that he knows better and Shuichi is the person he made up in his head, just like he did with Maki right after meeting her, with the whole trying to force her to be the girly girl he thinks she should be in canon. Like, Kaito at his core is an only child who was spoiled by his grandparents and never told no, he thinks the world spins which way he'll wish it to

Hina: I think Kaito is a bad friend in canon, 100% but for me personally, I usually pick and choose what parts of Kaito I like to keep lmao This is a postgame headcanon, but after the game I'd like to think he's one of Kokichis biggest advocates, even more so than Shuichi There's a small difference between the moment where Kaito says he's not sure if Kokichi was lying and postgame And it's Kaito actively dying for the rest of the class It's one thing to say you're dying to save everyone, it's another thing to actually commit and do it I think in a postgame scenario, where Kaito actually has had to confront those final moments before his death and realize exactly what a "heroic sacrifice" means, it changes his opinion completely He might not agree with the actions Kokichi took to get there, but the fact that given the choice, he chose to lay down his life to put a stop to the game. He wants to believe that's for everyone else. He can't fathom the idea that anyone who does that could possibly be selfish

oh, if it's post-game it's worse on Shuichi angle tho, I get that he [Kaito] could change his mind about Kokichi after this (he'd have trouble admitting it tho), but for Shuichi it means that the mess of 4th trial and what followed happened between them

you can't tell me he wasn't impacted long-term after, actually they both should feel betrayed, Kaito did openly show that to him this was Shuichi turning against him and was ready to cut him off and lead the group against him, but Shuichi crawled back to him like the wet dog he is, I want post-game Shuichi hesitate before disagreeing with Kaito on something minor and then let himself finally feel hurt over this

when it hits him that he can't pretend it's all fine because they made up and that he has outgrown the need for hero-Kaito and is now letting him stifle him because he got used to being under his shoulder

Sini: Yeah, Kaito did him dirty. I get that Kaito felt betrayed, but Kaito was so pissed at him and for what? For arguing against him when he turned out right? For accusing Gonta even though it was a class trial? Or… Given that Kaito admitted to being jealous of Shuichi…. Was it all because of jealousy? Is he still jealous even now? Kaito apologized yet Shuichi is still playing the sidekick to Kaito’s hero as if everything is still the same

I want the realization that they're not fine to hurt him like a bitch, I want him to be just trying to wish it away, asking for it to go back to the way it was at the start, because he still hates confrontation and is more tired than ever and is still scared of not having a hero, doubting himself per usual, he still needs Kaito, doesn't he? (all he needs is a friend)

Ves: shuuichi just wants ONE thing to stay stable but alas

Sini: He is both angry and wants to lash out yet wants to keep things as is. He’s mad at Kaito but also wants him to still be his friend

and I think Kaito would only double down on being a hero post-game, because surely everyone needs one right now, somebody to still put on the cheerful act and give them something to look forward (he refuses to notice how denying equal ground & mutual support is fucking up everyone in the training trio and honestly anyone who cares about him)

also if he just believes strongly enough he'll be fine eventually

and there's parallel to Kokichi probably also doubling down on his act, hoping they'll leave him to rot (think "I'm damaged, far too damaged"/lyrics)

Ves: the idea of kokichi doubling down on his act postgame makes me ILL get up boy i am outside your door w hot cocoa and a therapy dog

(thinking back to Barely a Planet, Barely Pluto) he can get the dog, but you're not entering his isolation tower, this poisoning attempt has been thwarted

What goes on inside Pat's head in eps 6/7?

Or what happens when the brain rot takes over.

Alright so without further ado let me get into the fact that i can't believe this is the first time im seriously thinking about it but what the hell must have all been going through Pat's mind during that gap between their first kiss, their bet on the beach and even beyond that up to that post curry-feeding kiss after his dramatic re-entry as Riam?

What was all going through his head? We know he's confused and hurt and frustrated, but he also doesn't want to push too much, but he also wants to know what goes on in Pran's head real bad and then the resolution he gets is that Pran clearly seems to like him too, like a heck of a lot, and his extreme backtracking so far back they cant even have a conversation ironically goes to prove just how much Pran was going though and now they have a bet and on the other end there is a relationship....

....there is a relationship right?

We know pat is sure of his own feelings. He likes pran. He wants to be with Pran. He wholeheartedly wants to go all in. And while he knows Pran likes him back, he knows that pran isn't sure (at that point) if he wants to even go in, let alone ALL in. So then what must have been his mindset while being the goofy boy who was constantly on teasing mode?

What was behind that smiling exterior, because one thing that the usually confident Pat is insecure about is when it comes to Pran and especially given what happened after the kiss, he must have become at least a tiny bit more wary? (Not really though cos we know Pat is a simple straightforward guy, and he knows that nobody not even his Pran can kiss like THAT without feelings, a guy who goes for what he wants and often acts before he thinks but for the sake of my spiral lets pretend) So then behind that exterior what was his best case scenario? They start dating. But what was his worst case scenario cos for pran, we know he chose the worst (in terms of their relationship) way out cos that seemed like the only one until pat refused to leave without talking about it.

But Pat won't make that choice to cut off ties (why the heck would he) and now that Pran is ready for the bet, Pran wouldn't either right? But what if pran decides to call off the bet in between? He wouldn't but what if pat randomly has that thought...in some lonely/ insecure moment what if that is one of the horrifyingly depressing thought he has...what if pran likes him more than everything and even that isnt enough because he just can't bring himself to take that step somehow?

Where does that leave him? Did he even have a backup plan for what would happen if their bet didn't work out? If pran didn't come around? What was he gonna do? Were they going to ignore each other? Not talk anymore? Not play around any more? What if each time he comes to play, underneath all the mischief and fun what if there's that underlying fear of what if it's the last time?

What if it's the last time i'm in his room? What if it's the last time he offers to feed me curry? What if it's the last time I get to help him out with something? What if it's the last time he makes me dinner? What if it's the last time he comes close when i ask him to? What if it's the last time he traces hearts on my face? What if it's the last time i get to touch him? What if it's the last time he looks at me like that?

Are we even comprehending the level of angsty mess Pat could have been that whole time? But he wouldn't be the Pat we (think we) know and love. He loves and he loves loud and he isn't thinking too much beyond their competition and getting Pran comfortable enough to get into a relationship (i could write whole essays about the level of emotional intelligence Pat shows when it comes to Pran especially in episodes 6 & 7, thats not what this is about tho) BUT we all have bad days and negative doom spirals.. who is to say Pat didn't!

Of course it probably wasn't as bad or dramatic as i am making it sound like cos Pran does reciprocate and Pran is not at all attempting to hide (in the same way we see pre episode 6) his feelings for Pat or his investment in the bet but still as long as the bet was on, nothing was set in stone. And also let's not forget just how much it must have hurt when wai came to hand off Pran's guitar. Pran's guitar that Pat had saved and polished and kept safe for him. The one he ran after him, holding. The one he kept safe in his home. His one piece of Pran that he held onto those 3 long depressingly lonely years. And Pran just gave it away to Wai like that? Wai? WAI!??

Look at my poor baby sitting there all alone with his thoughts, his heart breaking little by little and even then staying silent just so that he won't create trouble for Pran. Who is gonna answer for all of that!??? huh?

* Ooh boy and here come those heart squeezes again I CANT DO THIS ARGHHHH *

And despite all that he kept a mostly cheery exterior, trying to keep it fun and light for pran as much as possible?!?

Not all undermining the fact that patpran did have a heck of a lot of fun during their bet era, several essays worth of fun and meanings to unpack but that's not the point of this post

Like i'm sorry but there is simply no better man (boyfriend). But also no cos 1. he's fictional duh, there is NO one like pat irl, he's just an impossible version of a man cos despite all his flaws he really did what he did and 2. its actually not healthy what he's doing is it? Repressing his anxieties and radiating joy, equally bad as repressing joy and radiating anxiety like pran was doing, but (argh to sweep it all under the rug the way i usually do unlike patpran who talk shit though and therefore ofc they ended up happy)...

Because of course despite their anxieties both of them knew they could trust in each other and in their feelings for each other, and yes they built that trust over the years but it also was especially given impetus during the bet era so the bet was eventually going to have only a happy outcome but human brains can be weird and can play tricks on you and i was just thinking of the possibility of a time when pat's brain may have tricked him into a whole spiral and what if the bet wasn't as fun for pat as i initially thought it was and now here we are.

And why the hell were they making racers take their horses through it?! Your horse had run off to god knows where and you were stranded. You were going to die here.

Prior, you made the stupid mistake of screaming at Gyro for being an idiot, and he left you in the dust unapologetically. You couldn't blame him though. If your horse didn't have a scratch on her leg, you would've gladly left him in the dust too, but instead you were left behind. And now it felt like the last breaths you were going to take.

For some reason, your brain couldn't stop feeling bad for yelling at Gyro, for being such an asshole to him since the race started. Maybe if you didn't cause all of the situations, karma wouldn't be here to bite you in the ass.

You really couldn't help but cry, watching the sky get further and further from you. God, this was awful. Wet, hot tears ran down your face as the cold mud grabbed your collarbones. You knew you shouldn't have signed up for this godforsaken race.

You took a breath and decided: screw Gyro Zeppeli. He just left you here like he knew it was going to happen. Like he wanted you to die in the middle of the-

Your thoughts were quickly interrupted as you felt a hand grab yours. You were pulled out of the mud and into the arms of… dammit.

“Gyro?!” You pushed him away and almost fell back into the mud, but he grabbed your hand to prevent that from happening.

“Are you hurt?” His voice sounded genuine, like he really cared about you.

“N-No. I'm fine.” You shuffled in your spot before Gyro ran with you, avoiding anything that could be quicksand.

“Dammit, y/n, I can't believe you!”

“I-”

“I don't wanna hear it! You get all pissed at me and I leave you just to find out you almost got killed, you dumbass! Thank god your horse showed up to our campsite or else you would probably be dead because I wouldn't have found out!”

You stood and allowed yourself to get yelled at by Gyro. You did deserve it. You were being the asshole, so the least you could give him was your time. So you swallowed back your pride and listened.

“I'm just, ugh!” Gyro threw his hands in the air and then wrapped his arms around you. “I'm just glad you’re okay.” His voice was soft against your ear, and his hair tickled your arm.

“Sorry Gyro.”

He pulled back and looked you up and down. “It's okay… just… don't do it again.” He grabbed your hand and went to walk off again, but he felt the force of you standing still and stopped, turning to you. “What’s the matter?”

“I'm really sorry Gyro.”

“You already said that, y/n. It's okay real-”

“No. About earlier. I'm sorry Gyro.”

Gyro looked at you with concerned eyebrows and jumped when you threw yourself on him, wrapping your arms around the back of his neck. Best Cuddlers

Zander - He's big, he's soft, and he's warm. Cuddling with him feels like cuddling up to the warmest teddy bear in the world! Very prone to napping during cuddles though.

Lee - He will fall asleep the moment you're both laying down. He gets extra cuddly in his sleep though, so the cuddles are still high quality! Loves to rest his head on your chest.

Mav - They really enjoy cuddling and chatting. If you fall asleep on him or ask him to be quiet, he'll stop talking. But otherwise, he's down to hold you and chat!

Lucky - Lay on his chest please, he'll use you like a weighted blanket. He's so huge and his arms are so comfy around you and he smells like cigarettes and cologne. 10/10 cuddles!

Azza - Another big guy who's real good at cuddling! He'll find a quiet patch of sunlight for y'all to snuggle up in, and he'll just hold you in silence unless you wanna chat.

Gin - She loves to float on the surface of the water and relax in the sunlight, so she'd be thrilled if you joined her! She'll hold your hand like an otter so you don't drift away!

Worst Cuddlers

Charles - He gets way too in his head about it all. He's not sure where to put his hands or rest his legs, how much he can touch you, how much to talk. He ends up rambling nervously.

Lin - Literally won't stop fucking moving. He's way too jittery and restless for cuddles, unfortunately. The only way to get him to settle is letting him practice anatomical labelling on you.

Yana - She can wrap an arm around you and let you cuddle up to her, it's not that she's bad at cuddling. She just. Hates it. Don't cuddle up to her unless you wanna get hurt.

Aisling - They're more interested in bothering you than cuddling. He wants to find out how best to bother you, not how to be comfortable. Genuinely just a nightmare to cuddle.

Ash - It can't really get comfortable sitting or laying down in general. Its wings are pretty unwieldy and it refuses to put them away. Teach it to wrap its wings around you and it'll be a good cuddler tho!

Horniest Cuddlers

Glitch - He's not happy about it, he's a grumpy asshole. But he's also hard as hell and will make it your problem if you push him even a little bit. Zero self control when they're close to you.

Etienne - He's a great cuddler! A little on the pointy side because he's thin, but he's warm and nice to cuddle. If you don't mind the fact that he will get handsy every time.

Yofi - They won't pretend they don't want you. If she's holding you, then she'll also be trying to entice you unto having sex with her. He's a menace who doesn't take no for an answer.

Missy - Cuddling with her does require something between your skin and hers, but it's still more physical affection and contact than she ever gets. So she's really horny about it~

Izzy - She's so snuggly and sweet! Fully cat-like nuzzling you and crawling into your lap! It's all nice and chaste until she starts getting horny and grinding on you...

I've just read a few people say victor has daddy issues because he's so desperate to blame someone other than himself and even turns against his loving parent and like... victor hate aside that's actually such a cruel thing to say?? Hearing those stuff I think more and more how people treat victims in real life. No one wants to have 'daddy issues' for their own benefit, because there are no benefits and this is no one's choice.

Just because when you look at the parent and think 'hmm they're so supportive' doesn't mean they don't have terrible flaws, they were like this in the past or abuse isn't happening beneath it.

Like the situation with Alphonse calling his interests 'sad trash'.

You look at victor and him 'ungratefully' mentioning how his father's response wasn't ideal and it could partly be his fault he made the creature, even tho he's been telling us himself, right from the start, how perfect and ideal his parents are!! How dare he!! ; instead of looking at victor and see him understandably, as a human, as a child, feeling overlooked, and sometimes having his feelings diminished and beside that still trying to convince us how his parents were 'perfect!!' and 'never did anything wrong!!' while also showing us they did.

The one moment when he admitted his dad wasn't perfect and yet, at the very same time, kept telling us he WAS perfect. Then which is it? And why Victor words are contradictory?

Because he is an unreliable narrator while we can only know this story through his feelings or even only through what he wants to tell.

The reason why there are two correlating views isn't because he wants to blame him instead of himself like duh for the entirety of the novel he praises him. If he wanted to blame his father for his creation and everything he would have perfect circumstances for it - there not being anyone to deny his claims to Walton and having no actual proof for anything.

It is because even he sometimes couldn't deny he felt hurt.

Victims in real life can talk overly idealistically about their parents, and, even when they mention how they hurt them people think 'it wasn’t as bad as others', when victims say their parents were controlling it's 'at least they paid you attention and clearly did it out of love' when rich kids say their parents were neglectful it's 'well, at least you got everything you wanted and they spoiled you!'

And that is an incredibly cruel thing to say. No one wants to be abused or have bad feelings regarding their parents. That's just not the case. It’s okay to admit when the parent isn't perfect. People, fathers, mothers, do make mistakes. The world won't fall apart if you admit it instead of denying other's feelings.

And so, even if it's just a fiction it makes me feel so uneasy because it shows society's attitude and unawarness.

Everyone always asks the question how the hell Victor Frankenstein turned out like this if he had such a idealistic childchood😱. (Which isn't bad per se, it is supposed to make you wonder.)

And then abandon the thought instead of thinking hmm yeah maybe a person who learned to healthily manage their emotions wouldn't do the things he's done.

Albedo isn't an evil Ben Tennyson, in this essay-

Fuck it the essay is being written cause I'm still seeing people claim he's an evil Ben Tennyson and I'm here to debunk that. (Aka Allie saw a tweet when she originally typed this out, they're entitled to their opinion but they're wrong lmao. No hate to said person tho.) So buckle the fuck up because this is long. Essay under the cut (If you’re on laptop, I think on mobile it doesn’t have 'keep reading’ thing.)

Aight so: -Alien Force:

What canon states is the fact that Albedo make his own knock off Omnitrix. And it was stated that Albedo didn't want Ben to have it because he was human and 'unworthy', so he made his own and got stuck with Ben's DNA. Azmuth himself even states that all Albedo wanted to do was restore himself to his original form.

Azmuth decided to keep Albedo in the form he was in because of rebellion and the fact he "put others in danger" and "wanted to use it in his own ways."

So here's the thing. In Good Copy, Bad Copy we only know about Albedo going after Forever Knights, which we've seen time and time again get their ass kicked by Ben. As far as we know that was the only thing Albedo was doing, he wasn't hurting anyone besides them. Once he came across the trio, he really only went after Ben.

Sure he foamed Gwen and Kevin to the wall to get them out of the battle, but he really only fought Ben and left the other two alone for the most part. Albedo knew who Ben was, if he was "evil" wouldn't he have gone after actual civilians using Ben's form? No all he was trying to do was fix his fuck up.

And what did Albedo get for it? Going to prison while trapped in human DNA. Yeah no shit he decided to work with Vilgax after that point, during The Final Battle and no shit he became bitter. (Altho Ben really couldn't do anything to help Albedo let's be real here. He was dealing with the Highbreed shit and needed to keep the Omnitrix.)

Albedo also, for whatever reason, was kinda against the idea of going after Ben's friends until Vilgax explained. Probably so the audience knew why that happened I guess idk. But he was more indifferent towards it all, and questioned why they were going after Gwen and Kevin. He probably did it because he thought it was gonna lead to him becoming a Galvan again. (And come on only tying Gwen and Kevin up? Y'all can do better than that.) He'd do whatever it took to get his Galvan body back, and since they were Ben's friends it was fine going after them.

-Ultimate Alien:

AND AFTER BEN'S IDENTITY WAS REVEALED ALBEDO DIDN'T REALLY DO SHIT. So like Ben's entire villain gallery came to Bellwood to go after Ben's family, but all Albedo did was make Ben 10 Live. He even says so in Double or Nothing that he's been doing it since being stranded after Vilgax's ship blew up. And we can assume money went towards getting the parts for the machine to turn him back to Galvan. Tell me would an evil character be a fucking theater nerd???

EVEN WHEN HE WAS GALVAN DURING THAT EPISODE HE SAID HE WASN'T GOING AFTER BEN ANYMORE. He had what he wanted. He was confused that Ben still thought he was going to go after him after being Galvan again. All he wanted was to not be stuck as a human anymore, and when he had that he was going to leave and never see Ben again....until that was fucked up. Of course Albedo's gonna fight Ben after that point. He wasn't going to take it out on Hugh after that whole explanation on why Hugh lied to the trio. So Ben got the brunt of that. Did Ben deserve that? Probably not.

Hell even BEN HIMSELF was happy for a second there that Albedo was cured, and genuinely felt bad when Albedo revealed the motivations behind the machine. Yeah Ben seemed like he was about to murder Albedo at the end there with Ultimate Echo Echo but he was NOT doing okay during UA let's be real. (That's also another whole essay but that's also based on other people talking about how Ben got darker during UA. There was a justifiable reason that Ben went straight to thinking of murdering Kevin after his 3rd mutation and I kinda get it. But again that's another essay that I gotta find sources for since other people talked about it and I can't remember who did.)

Night of the Living Nightmare all we know was that Albedo wanted to stick the Dream Eater on Ben. Probably as a way to steal the Ultimatrix but all he had to do was knock Ben out for a bit and take it. It's easily removable, he of all people should know that. He also has Ben's voice so it really shouldn't have been that hard, but I guess Albedo wanted Ben to suffer like he did.

-Omniverse:

(Side note before I get into this, I was typing this on my phone and when I app switched to do research on an episode the fucking app reset and I lost all my Omniverse talk so gdi here we go with a retype of that section.)

Alright so we're gonna tackle Omniverse Albedo. I know I usually don't touch OV Al with a 10 foot pole and chalk it up to "Bellicus and Serena fucked up the universe when they reset it" but that's a cop out without explanation so we're explaining.

Aight so the first time in OV we see Albedo is a flashback episode (Trouble Helix) where he's working with Azmuth, and he's indirectly the cause of Malware getting more powerful. In the episode he's more indifferent towards Ben than anything, and very respectful towards Azmuth. He's more concerned if Ben could defeat Malware later on and asks Max if Ben's able to do so. When Malware is supposedly defeated, Albedo kinda sticks it in Ben's face when Ben gloats about defeating him. Nothing really too bad, or anything to indicate that he hated Ben. Hell he wasn't even against Ben wearing the Omnitrix at the point? Something had to have snap, but nothing tells us that.

Next time in OV we see Albedo, it's him changing places with Ben cause of Khyber in The Ultimate Heist (How did Albedo work with Khyber? Who the fuck knows, plot cause there's no explanation for it.) Albedo is able to pull off acting like Ben for a few days because he acts how Rook wants Ben to act so he's none the wiser. (Which that's a whole other essay about how people see Ben but other people tackled that.) Then when he was able to get what he wanted, he reveals that it's him. He gets the crystal he needed to stabilize the knock off watch and he can transform again. He's back to being able to become a Galvan, but Albedo ain't leaving after that.

He comes back a few episodes later in A Fistful of Brains and gets Ben to chase him through Undertown so Khyber can kidnap him. Albedo fights Ben later on with the Ultimate Galvan form and goes after Azmuth to get his brain. Ben remarks about why Albedo doesn't just go away because he can be a Galvan again, and Albedo explains it's cause of the imprisonment he faced (either by Azmuth/the Plumbers, or being trapped with human DNA, or both.) and the chili fries craving.

The episode continues into For a Few Brains More where it’s just them trying to get Azmuth’s brain back. At the end of that episode Azmuth traps Albedo as an 11 year old Ben Tennyson. Which btw was a dick move on Azmuth's part, sure Albedo snapped but there could've been other things he did. Azmuth probably remembers what Ben was like at that age, and wanted Albedo to suffer more than he did. (There's a trivia thing about the crew saying that Azmuth would make Albedo a toddler if he had to, which that's fucked. But that's besides the point. I can’t remember where I read it, but I swear I’m not making it up.)

After that we see him in the No Watch Ben episodes. (And Then There Were None/And Then There Was Ben) Vilgax and Eon got all the "bad" Bens together to go after the "good" ones, and Gwen 10. Albedo shouldn't have even been a part of that, he's not even a BAD Ben, just someone who looks like him with a watch that's not a hero. Everyone else was their own version of Ben, or in Gwen's case she had the Omnitrix. 11 Year Old Albedo 100% wasn't thinking clearly working with Vilgax since Vilgax already betrayed him before. *coughTheFinalBattlecough* 11 year olds can't make good decisions like that. But I'm just speculating on why Albedo worked with Vilgax again.

After the No Watch fiasco, he's working with Vilgax a THIRD time In Malgax Attacks after all the betrayals to release Malware's remains. (Which he should know is a bad idea from years prior but kid Albedo probably isn't thinking straight with all the human emotions he's dealing with at that age.) He thinks he killed Azmuth. (I actually haven't seen that episode when writing this so gonna go do that and come back.) And like a month later I actually get around to seeing the episode. This episode was like near the end of Omniverse, so I guess they wanted one last Albedo episode but had no clue what to do with him so we got a 3rd partnership with Vilgax and an out of the blue motivation. So basically Albedo's motivation in this episode is to take Azmuth's place and see his 'secrets of the universe'. I- How would Albedo not have known Azmuth's secrets? Granted I think in the Albedo triology, he wanted to be above Azmuth so I don't think the plot came totally out of left field. They worked together on the Omnitrix, Albedo should've known about that stuff??? Also since when did he want to rule Galvan Prime??? What would that accomplish??? I was confused the whole episode about why Albedo was even there. I guess because he knew Galvan Prime’s defenses and could attack it with Vilgax. I never wanted to punt a fictional 11 year old character more. End of the episode he has a concrete guard on his right wrist and shackle on his left leg and was sentenced to clean Galvan Prime from the mess he caused for the next 30 Galvan solar cycles. And that's the end of Albedo in the franchise. He's back on Galvan Prime, but stuck doing community service. (I think people forget that this episode exists since every redemption fic after OV doesn't reference this episode and only references up to the No Watch Ben episodes.)

Okay slightly away from Albedo for a second, but was Malgax REALLY that powerful that Ben was defeated so easily??? Like Ben the Omnitrix can quick change, you can change aliens easily. Despite Skurd being cool, you have more powerful aliens you could've used and you barely tried. Idk I think I just forgot how powerful Malware was since I haven't seen Omniverse in awhile. I don't wanna start a new essay but what the f was that episode? Wasn't bad, and there's good moments but, definitely not on my rewatch list. (Also wasn't worth the amount of effort I had to do to download it since I plan to use it for Albedo edits cause I got ideas.) -Non Canon Things:

In Ben 10 Alien Force: Vilgax Attacks video game, there's this line that I gotta mention: "Is it my fault that I'm stuck looking like you?!... Oh wait it is." In Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: Cosmic Destruction video game all I know is that he was beat with a wrench at the end of the game. In Double Trouble, one of the CN comics from the Action Pack series, he pretends to be Ben and Sandra and Carl 100% believe him till Ben comes home. (Aka Albedo is a little shit.) Albedo gets trapped in a teleporter.

In Double Negative, a chapter book that was put out that took place during AF Season 3, but was non-canon. Guess who Albedo is working with? Fucking Vilgax. I read this book online a few months back, and guess what the plot is? Albedo pretending to be Ben with Julie realizing that something is wrong and getting Gwen and Kevin involved. I just wanna talk about this book for a second, Albedo ends up working with the group to get Ben back. Ben was sent to Incarcecon(? can't remember but he was in prison in Albedo's place I'm guessing? He started a riot and tried to get other prisoners out.) I remember this one joke Albedo made about "Looking like Tennyson" and I think it described him smirking in order to fool Vilgax and genuinely working with Gwen, Kevin, and Julie. They used Kevin's ID mask so Albedo could pretend to be Ben, which was neat ngl. His interactions with the group was actually fun, and omg I wish this was somehow canon. At the end it almost seems like Albedo was turning over a new leaf, but nope it was all a ploy to get Ben's Omnitrix, Azmuth teleports in and puts Albedo back in prison. But for a split second Ben thought Albedo went back to being Galvan, and seemed happy about it.

Summary:

UAF Albedo and Omniverse Albedo aren't the same. UAF Albedo just wanted his Galvan body back, but OV Albedo snapped and everything that happened was the result of that. Maybe he snapped after he got the Dream Eater stuck on him, and that pushed him over the edge but who knows. He just wanted everyone to pay, even after he had what he wanted. I wouldn't call him "evil" and I hate how the franchise kept treating him as if he was just an "Evil Ben" when Albedo has ALWAYS been his own person. He just wanted to fix his fuck up, but when he couldn't do that took it out on everyone because human emotions be a bitch on your psyche But maybe I just hyperfixate too much on a fictional character.

Btw: This is sorta Azmuth's fault that Albedo snapped. Ben could have done more, but he's a teenager who was dealing with a Highbreed war the time they met again. He probably wouldn't have gone against Azmuth at that point. Azmuth could've turned Albedo back to normal because even he knew Albedo only wanted the Omnitrix to go back to being a Galvan, but instead imprisoned him then turned him into an 11 year old.

And no this isn't a "Albedo did nothing wrong uwu" post. Albedo was 100% at fault for turning himself into Ben, I'm not denying that. As well as making the choices he did, when all he had to do was explain without the lies. We're also only hearing Azmuth's side of things, and of course since Azmuth is "good" we're expected to take his side. We never heard Albedo's side fully because the narrative didn't allow it. The narrative wanted Albedo to be "bad" so that's what we saw. The narrative didn't allow Albedo to fix his fuck up. Kinda sad really, especially how the franchise treated him at the end.

TL;DR: Albedo has never been an evil Ben, but snapped as time went on because everytime he tried to become Galvan again it was always screwed up. And when he finally became Galvan again, wanted to make everyone suffer for the things he was put through and I can’t really blame him.

Making Briar’s playlist & of course it has me thinking about her. & it’s about time I give y’all the content you probably followed me for. This got away from me so putting it under a read more so I don’t clog your dash, thank me later

But yeah, Briar definitely has a tumblr account & she’s definitely a tk fic writer, but it is her most guarded secret. (Even more so than the fact she’s Spider-Goth)

The epitome of a bratty lee, while still being super shy about it. But she like never gets tickled sooo it’s not really something she like, has to worry about lol. But if she sees it happening to someone else around her she goes stiff as a board & looks away & tries to act like she’s paying attention to someone else. & if she hears The Word she perks up & you can practically see an exclamation mark pop up above her head lmao

Being the older sibling, she wasn’t on the receiving end very often & has a pretty mean ler streak. It comes with being the oldest. But she tries to act all bored & aloof if someone brings it up while she’s internally freaking out. If someone asks the dreaded question she just gives them a blank look & says something along the lines of “no” or “you’re kidding me, right?”

Her worst spots are her thighs, knees, underarms & tummy. Don’t ask me why, she just gives me those vibes, but she’s pretty sensitive everywhere

If you act like you’re gonna get her or even just threaten her with tickles she spits out the most violent sounding threats & insults, but she is all talk. Like once you get her she curls up & lets out the cutest giggles you ever did hear. No fight whatsoever. & if they point it out she insist it’s cause she doesn’t wanna hurt them. She tries to act all huffy & put out afterwards but she’s undeniably in a better mood

Her blog is p popular & she has a lot of fics on her blog, some flop but others do the fuckin’ numbers

1 time she was in the middle of a mission with Pavitr & Miguel & she was pulling a Miles typing on her phone while she was effortlessly beating up the bad guy. But of course that shit won’t fly with mr stick in his ass

He’s like “what’s so damn important that you’re not paying attention? Who are you texting?” & she just scoffs & is like “I’m not texting, I’m writing.”

“That’s even worse!” & Pavitr takes up for her like “well she’s still contributing so it’s fine. It’s nothing I haven’t done” & that makes Miguel chew both of them out while they’re rounding up the bad guys & Briar is ignoring everything he’s saying & just continues to type away at her phone

Miguel’s fed up & is all like “ok that’s it” & webs her phone out of her hand & is like “wtf is more important than a fight” but she fucking panics & makes a B-line straight for him & kicks him & snatches her phone ‘cause there’s no way in hell she’d EVER let him see what she writes

After the fight tho she gets an ear full ‘cause not only was she “not engaged in the fight” (she was, it was a super easy & lame fight) & how she “turned on her fellow team” (you fucking stole my phone, what do you expect?) & just making her feel bad & guilty

After they get back to HQ & they had some time to cool off Miguel tries to interrogate her like “for real, what the hell were you writing that you’d kick me square in the chest to prevent me from seeing? Was it porn?” She blushes sooo much ‘cause that came way outta left field & she’s like “NO?!?!”

“Come on, I won’t judge, it was porn, wasn’t it? Isn’t that all fanfiction is anyways?”

“Of course that’s what you’d think. & that’s exactly why I’d never let you see anything I write.” & Pavitr pipes up like “Could I read it?” all bright eyed & excited & she’s real hesitant like “mmmm idk if you’d like it” just cause she knows Pav has a blabbermouth & a half & she doesn’t want any of these cool superheroes knowing what kinda fics she writes lol

But Pav begs nonstop & she finally caves & swears him to secrecy. She lets him read what she was writing during the fight & he’s like “oh my gosh that was the cutest thing I’ve ever read! Why not just tell him?” & she’s like “are you fucking kidding me? He can never find out. & if you tell him I’ll kill you, got it?” & he agrees but he’s just like that smug cat meme. She should’ve never told him tho ‘cause now he nags her about when she’s gonna update an ongoing fic or post one she’s been talking about

But she was probably writing for something kinda niche & Pav is just like “I don’t know who these people are but I love it!” I just feel like he’d be the type to read fics for stuff he doesn’t even know to support his friends. Or I can say fuck that & say she was writing a supernatural fic since she’s a lil basic (in the best way) idk you decide: was she writing for supernatural, or something like ace attorney?

It still lowkey drives Miguel crazy if he lets himself dwell on it for too long. Curiosity killed the cat & at this point he doesn’t even care about what she was writing, he just wants to find out to spite her for being such a lil bitch. (She literally told him to his face that she’d sooner die than show him anything she posts)
