You both froze in shock, your eyes wide as your hand hung in the air between the two of you - finger still pointed.
"Did you just-" his voice rang out, quiet and unsure.
"I couldn't help it," you whispered in return, just as surprised as he was.
"You couldn't help it?" he repeated, arching an eyebrow at you.
"You just-... you're so cute," you muttered sheepishly, feeling your face begin to flush with warmth.
"I'm cute?" he scoffed, as if you just insulted him.
You nodded, hesitating before saying more. "Yeah. You-... you get this lil scrunch on your face when you laugh and it- I couldn't help it!"
His lips twitched as his eyes sparkled with amusement, but he quickly cleared his throat and set his face in stone again. "I'm not cute. I'm deadly."
"Yeah, deadly cute," you mumbled, a grin tugging at your own lips as you tapped his nose once more.
His face scrunched up as you did so, causing giggles to erupt from your mouth as you watched with glee; resulting in him losing the fight against being annoyed and grinning softly at you, shaking his head in amusement as affection danced in his eyes.
"So, if you get to do that to me for being cute," he began, his grin morphing into a mischievous one. "What do I get to do to you for being adorable?"
You opened your mouth to respond, but no words came out. Your face flushed as he looked at you, eyebrow raised as he waited expectantly for an answer.
"'Cause I got a few ideas, you know," he said casually, leaning his shoulder into the back of the couch as he gazed at you.
The look on his face was enough to get you out of your seat, grinning widely as you backed away from him. "Gotta catch me first, Barnes."
Accepting the challenge, he took his time getting up - giving you a head start. You squealed in delight, turning on your heels and running down the hall.
Bucky followed casually behind you, watching in adoration as you scurried away. He knew he'd catch you easily - you both knew it - but he'd hold off a few seconds more.
He just wanted to listen to your giggles a little bit longer.

You guys rlly don't realise how much knowledge is still not committed to the internet. I find books all the time with stuff that is impossible to find through a search engine- most people do not put their magnum opus research online for free and the more niche a skill is the less likely you are to have people who will leak those books online. (Nevermind all the books written prior to the internet that have knowledge that is not considered "relevant" enough to digitise).
Whenever people say that we r growing up with all the world's knowledge at our fingertips...it's not necessarily true. Is the amount of knowledge online potentially infinite? Yes. Is it all knowledge? No. You will be surprised at the niche things you can discover at a local archive or library.

So. It’s no secret that the dunmeshi manga gradually changed art style as it went on (thereby twinkifying a few characters…) but I like to think that, in Thistle’s case specifically, it was also a change in perception by the party. I mean…
Early in the story, when all they knew about him was that he was the creepy, all-powerful mad sorcerer? Probably were much more intimidated by him. Same with the reader. BUT….
By the end? Oh, he’s just a little jester twink who writes poetry and can be picked up and slung around like a bag of potatoes. No way they could take him seriously anymore. Literally this meme but in reverse

It saddens me that Helen of SPARTA is mostly known as Helen of TROY. As if she wasn't born, raised, and most likely, died in Sparta. Yes, she was of TROY for a while...But she was able to go back home to where she WANTED TO BE.

"I can't remember the last time I've seen so many stars," you breathed out, staring up at the sky in wonder.
"Hard to believe I get to see them all the time," Dean replied softly, his gaze set upon you beside him instead of on the sky above.
"It must be nice," you declared wistfully. "Living in a town like this. Just so... peaceful all the time."
"Right... small town living," Dean agreed absently, sighing quietly.
He wanted to tell you that what he really meant was I see stars in your eyes every time you look at me, and feel the sun every time you smile. But no, he couldn't. Not now. Maybe not ever.
Not when he knew this wouldn't last.

he's the cutest ever and this vibe goes perfectly with the new road trip/beach fic idea i was thinking of writing
please tell me you can picture it:
road tripping with boyfriend!bucky, windows down, badly singing along to the playlist you both made and laughing hysterically when either of you gets the words wrong (which happens a lot)
wanting to change off driving with him so he can rest but "the whole point of this is to relax, doll. so just relax, i'll get us there safe and sound"
stopping off at lookouts (where he'd rather take pictures of you instead of the view because you are the view) and of course random touristy roadside food shacks and restaurants where everything is way overpriced but it's necessary for the whole experience
picking out tacky souvenirs for each other that you both pretend are awful but actually secretly love
finally getting to the cottage you two rented out and him not being able to wipe the gigantic grin from his face as he watched you explore, because "this couldn't be any more perfect, buck! thank you for bringing me here" and "i think anywhere would be perfect as long as i'm with you, doll"
you not having a chance to fester with your insecurities because he's immediately kissing every inch of your skin when he notices how uncomfortable you seem in your bathing suit, and suddenly you don't hate how it looks quite as much anymore because "never in my entire life have i seen something as perfect as you" and you were out of the suit almost as soon as you were in it so he could prove his point before you even left the bedroom
spending the days down on the beach, packing little picnics and having lunch in the sand, him incessantly making sure you drink enough water and have enough sunscreen on because it's his job to take care of you and that's never going to change; even when on vacation
sprinting along the beach barefoot, running away from him because you knew he'd toss you in the water if he caught you - and he always did. strong arms around your waist, his chest warm against your back, a false sense of security for a few moments before being engulfed by the cold waves, bucky following immediately after, taking you in his arms again as he laughed and kissed the salty water from your face
hunting down seashells, him diving for the ones you couldn't reach because "look how beautiful they are!" but "they aren't nearly as beautiful as you, sweetheart"
watching the sunset while dancing to the sound of the waves, staying in each others arms long after the sun had set because you never wanted the moment to end
staying out on the back deck of the cottage long into the night, watching the stars and talking about nothing and everything. "i love you more than there are stars in the sky" "you're my moon, you know? just a pretty, beautiful thing always lighting up the darkest parts of me"
snuggled up on his lap while having a fire under the stars, surrounded by birds and crickets and distant waves. sun kissed skin warm against each other as you stole kisses and touches from the other well into the night. and if it got a little heated no one was around to see (or hear)
eating fresh fruit and failing to fight the urge to kiss the juice off each others face (which always ended up with you making love on the nearest flat surface you could reach) and you may have broken a lamp or dish or table or two in the process
frozen cocktails, playing tourist in town, dancing in the living room, heart shaped sunglasses, night swimming, skinny dipping, local markets, getting up early to watch the sunrise, catching shows from local bands, picking wildflowers, going whale watching, anything and everything you wanted to do
and let's not forget him having a custom made ring tucked away in a crevice of his suitcase, planning on asking you to spend forever with him while out under the stars, the moonlight making you so impossibly beautiful to him he nearly forgets how to breathe

I just finished The Hellbound Heart. It was good but I need y'all to know one key difference between the book and Hellraiser. No it's not that Kirsty isn't related to the Cottons or that Larry is named Rory.

Seeing comments on Facebook like “Buck was always a ladies man” or “he’s never shown any interest in guys before” is why this story arc is so important.
Bisexual people exist and so often get dismissed or told to pick a side or that they just can’t commit to being gay or some other shit.
Just because you show a preference to one gender doesn’t mean you can’t be attracted to another.
And you don’t have to have your sexuality figured out at a certain age! It’s fluid! It changes! You could not discover something about yourself until you are away from toxic noise and finally are in a place where you feel safe.
I’m just .. I’m so thankful for Oliver and Tim and how they’re wanting to tell this story.
Especially Oliver.
He loves Buck so much and he sees the bi community and he wants to give them the best representation he can.

The more I learn about judaism the more I wonder where tf christianity got all its bad shit. Why is divorce a sin in christianity when judaism has recognized the right to divorce for nearly a millennia and has codified religious laws for it. Why does christianity consider sex to be dirty (to the point where puritans considered it a sin to enjoy having sex with your own spouse) when in judaism it's considered holy and it's a literal mitzvah to have sex with your spouse on the sabbath. Why does christianity consider it a sign that you're faithless if you question your religion when in judaism that's considered an essential part to developing your faith. I'm probably stating the obvious here but I still can't get over the fact that there's no historical basis to any of this shit before christianity started, it's like christians just said "hey guys what if we took the torah and built a new religion around it but this time it was actively hostile to human life"
#rambling#disclaimer this isnt about individual christians im speaking about the religious trauma i experienced in my own life etc etc#these are just a few examples that I've noticed but they're definitely something#the part about sex in particular shocked me bc sex is pretty much viewed as actively evil in a lot of christian denominations#like you should only do it to create children and if you take pleasure in it (even if its with your own spouse) youre a dirty sinner#there arent as many examples like this nowadays but if you read puritan laws about sex it's like#you're allowed to have sex with your wife basically 10 times a year but you have to be fully clothed with the lights off#and you cant have sex on a holiday or a sunday and you cant touch each other and you have to try as hard as possible to hate it#literally WHERE did that mindset come from?? like for real#in judaism having sex with your spouse is basically considered a celebration of everything holy#and if you have sex on the sabbath (the holiest day in the jewish calendar—above every holiday)#its considered TWICE as holy#make it make sense#this is one of the things people mean when they say that lumping judaism in with christianity as 'abrahamic' religions is meaningless#theyre literally nothing alike#the only similarity is the torah but thats only half of the christian bible and one third of the jewish one#AND christianity interprets most of it completely differently from how judaism does#im tired#greatest hits#hall of fame
