Just off the top of my head:

Obviously, the original post: Eleanor is not only condemned for being an asshole to people, but for also just not wanting to have or seek out friendships.

When she's a kid and gets to her new school and announces she doesn't want anyone to try to befriend her, no matter what, because she's not looking to make friends, this is treated as her being a horrible person, simply because she...is setting clear boundaries and isn't looking for companionship.

Later at her job, her employer pressures her into joining the company parties and making friends, and fires her because she doesn't want to spend her time off with her coworkers. This is treated as her being an asshole, instead of just being a perfectly reasonable boundary for someone to have.

There's a difference between genuinely being an asshole, which Eleanor did a lot, and just setting boundaries. Not wanting to have friends does not make you an asshole. Setting boundaries between your work life and your personal life does not make you an asshole. Making it clear that you don't want people trying to hang out with you does not make you an asshole.

But The Good Place portrays Eleanor not seeking out friendships as the exact same level of horrible as all of her genuinely horrible behavior.

In a similar boat we have Chidi, who is undisputably disabled by what is a very clear anxiety disorder that controls his entire life and causes him so much stress, and even when he's not hurting people with his behavior, the fact alone that he has anxiety is portrayed as a reason he's a bad person who "deserves" to go to The Bad Place.

And yes, there is a twist that reveals that Literally Everyone for the past several hundred years has been sent to The Bad Place because of capitalism and blah blah blah, meaning that even genuinely good people who aren't assholes have also been sent there, but this doesn't change the fact that Eleanor and Chidi have been getting demonized by the show for things that aren't actually bad.

And I'm sure there's more examples and other kinds of bigotry but it's been a while since I watched the later seasons so I can't remember off the top of my head.

Coining post!

So before I say the new terms I coined, I want to bring attention to a previously coined term, loveless apl.

Look at it. It’s amazing. It’s beautiful. It’s so awesome. But just like not all aros are represented by the term loveless aro, this term doesn’t represent all apls. Which brings me to the new terms I coined.

Loving Apl/Apllovic

Towards the center, the stripes are pinkish-purple, purple, lavender, grass green, and cream.] This term represents aplatonics who identify as experiencing love and find love to be important to their identity. I based this flag off the loving aro/arolovic flag, but I hue-shifted the pinks towards blue because the grays in the loveless apl flag are hue-shifted blue from the grays in the loveless aro flag. The shift in color also represents how aplatonics view love differently than alloplatonics, and our love may or may not include other’s love.

Paradox Apl/Apllovedox

This term represents those who identify as both a loveless apl and a loving apl. This can include experiencing love but feeling disconnected from it, having fluctuating feelings about love, only experiencing certain kinds of love, or not fully understanding love. To create the flag I just merged the loveless apl and loving apl flags.

These are included in the various a-spec flag sets I posted, but I also thought they should have their own post (to help explain it a bit).

Non-SAM (non split attraction model) is a broad term. Some examples would be:

Only identifying as either analterous/aplatonic/asensual/anaesthetic/aqueerplatonic.

Experiencing RoSe (romantic+sexual attraction) as one thing.

Experiencing all attractions as one thing.

Opting out of Rose.

Opting out of all a-spec and allo-spec orientations except either analterous/aplatonic/asensual/anaesthetic/aqueerplatonic.

Feeling as though their analterous/aplatonic/asensual/anaesthetic/aqueerplatonic identity is their most important identity.

And others too.

Whether you mean non-SAM to mean only RoSe or including tertiary attractions too, or why you identify as non-SAM, or how you experience attraction, etc., there's a lot of ways to be non-SAM.

I'm non-SAM ace myself, and I thought it would be nice to make some other non-SAM flags.

For the flags, there's two versions for each. They both use the purple/blue/turquoise/cream from this general non-SAM flag (by @arokill) to represent non-SAM. The first is based off of the five stripe non-SAM flags (like here and here), and the second is based off of my alt non-SAM flags (here).

The other colors are from the respective analterous/aplatonic/asensual/anaesthetic/aqueerplatonic flags. I used light blue for analterous. Yellow (first set), purple, blue, and green (second set), for aplatonic. Orange for asensual. Pink for anaesthetic. Yellow and pink (first set), and two shades of teal (second set), for aqueerplatonic.

I think these turned out quite nice. I really like the non-SAM label.

Maybe I am just a hater (/lh) but like. I personally like the original (purple blue green and cream) apl flag more than all these redesigns ppl are making of it recently! And I prefer my recolor of that flag anyways because I feel the colors in that go together better. I like that it is distinct from the aromantic and asexual flag designs ! Even if I am aplatonic arospec I don't want anyone whos alloromantic to feel like they can't id as apl, and Im allosexual myself. And seeing as how people prioritise aromantics and asexuals over aplatonics all the time Im frankly sick of people trying to make aplatonicism seem inherently related to aromanticism and asexuality.

Moodaplflux

Moodaplflux is a term for any neurodivergent apl whos aplatonicism is fluctuating due to their mood swings.

This was made with bipolar in mind but can be used by any neurodivergent apl that feels their mood swings affect their aplatonicism.

The symbolism is pretty simple, blue for negative/down moods and yellow for positive/up moods. The symbol both means a frown/smile and mimicks the arch or movement of a swinging motion.

Blue Stripe Aplatonic!!

A term in the same vein as 'black stripe ace' and 'green stripe aro', refers to an aplatonic who currently does not experience any platonic attraction(and may have any favorability/aversion label towards platonicism/friendship).

Based on the purple-blue-green-cream apl flag. Blue was chosen as purple and green are already colors in the ace and aro flags respectively, and the cream stripe in the flag already stands for alloro and/or allosexual apls.

(exclusionists and those who think aplspecs can't id as apl, or think similar abt other aspec identities, dni)

This term doesn't have a flag yet, feel free to make one (preferably only make one if you're apl as well please and just a note that it would be preferred for it to not be overly similar to ace or aro stripe flags as apl is an identity on its own- and to include the shade of blue on apl flag). I might also make a flag for it at some point if I can.

i'd like to request a combination flag of demiplatonic and aplspike with the colors of the purple/blue/green/pale yellow apl flag.

Here it is, a combo flag of demiplatonic and aplatonicspike.

As for the flag design, both of the flags being combined didn't use any colors of the aplatonic flag, so it was almost like creating a new flag in a way.

I wasn't able to find the flag meaning for -spike orientations, but I guessed that the spike in the middle represented attraction, so I used yellow for platonic attraction there. The greyish stripe and background for spike flags I assume is no attraction, so I used purple, blue, and green there.

The white and grey from demi is for attraction and grey, since the cream stripe from aplatonic also represents that, I just replaced white with cream. The grey I kept at the bottom.

The black on the demi triangle also represents no attraction (like the 3 aplatonic colors), so maybe I could have done something where I combined those. But that part of the demi flag design is so iconic that I thought it'd be best just to keep it.
