Shoutout to the guy in post-punk revival who just came out as gay and trans 2 months ago and he has no idea what he's doing. He doesn't know where to get a binder so he's stacking sports bras like cake layers. He accidentally showed up to a gay club/bar on a fetish night and the bartender had to tell him to go home and come back a different day because he would've gotten so scared. He asked, on aforementioned fetish night, if he was supposed to have a leash too because he's so confused and didn't want to get lost. He went to the gay bar to make friends because he doesn't do hookups and hasn't realized how many people are hitting on him. He doesn't know it's a bar for stand users either he's just like wow everybody in here dresses really cool like me ^_^ (he is, fortunately, a stand user) . He doesn't realize half the people hitting on him are doing it because he's wearing a literal harness but he's wearing it because it has angel wings on the back and he thought it was cute. He has a crush on Araneri. He's never even gotten drunk before . He doesn't know what a g-spot is. He lived a very sheltered life . He's 24

I do think there were good points on that last post I reblogged and like I added my tags abt them but I also think that blaming that type of behavior solely on the revival of aesthetics & music from a past decade kind of allows people to brush over accountability and responsibility. Like guys in pop emo/punk bands in the late 00s weren’t pedophiles BECAUSE of the scene they were pedophiles bc they were, and the scene enabled it but like so did the 70s glam rock scene with David Bowie’s predatory bullshit. And now when people are being jackasses they’re still making a choice, they aren’t being controlled by the aesthetics they enjoy.
Also again while I do agree with some of the points in that post, as someone younger who spent my teens in the 2010s, I think a big part of it is just that mid-late 2010s music & fashion was incredibly purposefully beige and boring and minimalist whereas emo/scene stuff from the 2000s is colorful and cluttered in a way that’s more fun and visually enriching and refreshing if you’re someone from the suburbs whose self expression options were clothes in beige, beige-pink, beige-blue, or black or DIY in a culture where diy is increasingly discouraged. And like personally I’ve always been a disconnected weirdo and had a lot of time on my hands as a teen + have been thrifting most of my clothes for dysphoria reasons ever since my early teens so like this stuff seems kind of pointless and hyperconsumerist to me but I do understand it

4. Which headmate is the most different from the body?
Hmmm this is an interesting one cus it can go in a few different directions :0 We assume it means in mindform/physically, so everyone even vaguely humanoid is out haha!
Our two members most different from the body would be Survivor and Flapjack, then! Survivor is a slugcat from the game Rain World, and is a traumagenic split from food insecurity. Flapjack is a wood-carved magic creature called a palisman in the shape of a robin, and is a soulbond we summoned for our Hunter fictive!
10. Which headmates are emo/punk/goth etc?
Oohh like what kinds of subcultures do our members dip into? This one's pretty fun!
- Badeline (@protectingtulpas ) sticks herself in as much of punk subculture as she can with how isolated we are. I'm pretty sure she's anarcho-punk specifically- she's always had the punk spirit but our city friends helped her really blossom. She's learning guitar rn, plans on joining roller derby, goes out tagging/making graffiti art whenever she can, and more. I'm pretty proud of her! Akira has similar beliefs to her, and I'd call him punk too, but he spent a lot of time exhausting himself on rebellion in his exomemories - he shows his passion now by his café being a hub in headspace for people that need comfort and space to be themselves.
- Space identifies as goth, and focuses on the fashion side of things specifically. I'm pretty sure the vibe is tied to their identity as a revived sanitized Octoling, and despite his monotone and dark disposition, he's actually the main caretaker of our littles that want/need a parental figure around. Whenever she requests a drawing of themself I end up getting a hand cramp from the intricacy of the clothing designs!
- I think Ari is the only one that would call himself "emo". He's a Minato Arisato fictive originally, but while Minato of the Prism ended up developing more social schools, he ended up more closed off, asocial, and appearing bitter & melancholic. They've stated many times they enjoy it though, so I'm pretty sure that's what emo is
- Casey (@kitty-creamie-cookie ) is sure part of SOME kind of subculture other than being a plain ol furry but I don't think any of us could pin it down if we tried. Some sort of combination of pastel punk, radical acceptance of consensual kink, and some kinda secret third thing idk?? Psychedelic mushrooms probably /hj She sure knows what she's doing even if we don't
11. What are some pet peeves headmates have about other headmates?

His wife, Mercades Oak-Garcia is dead because she has been swapped with canon Morgan Close. He is the lead man of a folk-music cover band called The Oak Trio. Growing up, their children were very involved in the punk/hippie aesthetic and everything in Faerun follows very closely to canon with the Omegadads being swapped as well.
🍃 Henry recieves a verdict in the Meth Bay Courthouse by Barry Oak for Bad Father and Good Person. They are sentenced to 20 years in the Meth Bay Supermax Prison and their children's memories are altered similarly to canon Glenn's timeline. They also lose an eye and are rescued by the other dads.
🍃 Jodie Foster and other characters are not swapped--Jodie becomes the King of Hell still. Over the course of S1, Swap!Sparrow and Swap!Lark become royalty of hell as Jodie's children. But they all eventually find out the truth as-per canon, and eventually "revive" Henry as a demon after he is murdered by Swap!Ron's father. Henry's relationship with Jodie is tense due to how Swap!Lark (Narc) and Swap!Sparrow (Narrow) essentially choose different fathers to identify with.

Akifume is one of the select people in the org who were involved in criminal matters a while before they joined the mafia and it's bc he was in a small street gang with his boyfriend and a few other close friends
(That boyfriend's name is Kotone [@rhaaclaws has drawn her before] and that friend is Tepui)
Now. The thing is. They were originally a " gang " the way a few teenage delinquents hanging out in their garage and making music or spray painting shit was a gang. They just said that to be humorous. There was really no harm to it. And then Tepui got them involved with the actual mafia and it all kindof went downhill from there. Tepui was presumed dead after he got into a run-in with another gang and stabbed somebody in the eye and he vanished for a few years etc etc. But that's just background stuff basically
Kotone and Akifume are their own hiphop duo and that's what their little ' gang ' started as. Basically just friends hanging out on the street practicing music
Akifume's stand name is Super Disco Breakin', like the Beastie Boys Song. The duo he and Kotone were first thought up listening to
Super Disco Breakin' is a shape-shifting, bedazzled pink gun / firearm that always shoots reactive and highly dangerous explosives no matter what form it takes
And his voiceclaim is Suki from 2 Fast 2 Furious. I think this video is a good example
And in terms of the hyperfemme transman thing. It has alot to do with his childhood but in all honestly he just loves dressing that way. He isn't even on hormones. Akifume's gender comes from euphoria and simply being treated like a man makes him happy enough. He's always enjoyed being femme .

Musikalische Neuentdeckungen im Juli, August und September
In dieser Ausgabe: Traurige Deutsche (und der eine Österreicher) singen traurige Lieder
Saiya Tiaw - Wenn es Nacht ist - Was man über Saiya Tiaw weiß? Nicht viel, außer dass er aus dem österreichischen Burgenland stammt und ein großes Faible für Autotune hat. Er hat 2021 zwei Alben in einem Jahr veröffentlicht und bildet zusammen mit Nicki Papa, mit dem er seit seinem 13. Lebensjahr Musik macht, das Duo NEUNUNDNEUNZIG. Sie haben dieses Jahr ihr erstes Album “99 in dein Herz” veröffentlicht und sind Vorband auf Edwin Rosens kommender Tour. Zudem veröffentlicht Saiya Tiaw auch Songs unter dem Namen Danziger 99.
SERPENTIN - Alles Scheisse - Die 26-jährige Berliner Indie/Elektro Musikerin SERPENTIN hat 2019 ihren ersten Song “Sintflut” veröffentlicht, damals noch unter dem Namen “Hiraeth”. Ihr neuester Song “Alles Scheisse” ist zwar erst Ende Juli rausgekommen, ist aber jetzt schon ihr beliebtester Song. Vermutlich auch, weil sie es damit in die “Gegen den Strom” Playlist geschafft hat.
The Doomers - Tag//Nacht - Das Duo The Doomers ist eine weitere Band, die gerade auf der Neue Deutsche Welle/Post-Punk Revival Welle mitschwimmt. Ihr Stil erinnert sehr an Edwin Rosen.
Edwin Rosen - 21 Nächte wach - Nachdem er den Song bei der vergangenen Tour im Sommer diesen Jahres schon live gespielt hat, ist jetzt endlich die Studioversion davon erschienen. Ich würde lügen, wenn ich sagen würde, dass ich nicht schon sehnsüchtig darauf gewartet hätte.
GEISTHA - darkhearts - GEISTHA (they/them) ist non-binary, kommt aus Mannheim und macht eine Art düsteren Elektro-Pop mit Hyperpopanleihen. Oder wie they es selbst beschreibt: “Lofi e-goth hymns to enjoy morbid feelings of sadness like you’re in a grunge coming of age movie”.
Nils Keppel - 222 - Nils Keppel kommt aus Kandel in der Südpfalz und ist jetzt auch in das Neue Neue Deutsche Welle Genre eingestiegen. Er ist mit dem Musiker borninmay befreundet, der ebenfalls aus Rheinland-Pfalz kommt und diesen Song produziert hat.
Steintor Herrenchor - wohin - Steintor Herrenchor ist gar kein Herrenchor, sondern eine Post-Punk/Neue Neue Deutsche Welle Band aus Hannover. Die Band hat sich zwar bereits 2018 gegründet, ihr erster Song “Luisa” erschien allerdings erst vor einem Jahr.
GAST - fallen - Was ich bisher herausfinden konnte: GAST sind 2/5 der Tübinger Band Lummerland (ehemals “The Frozen Deserts”), die sich gedacht haben “Wieso nur in einer Band spielen wenn man auch in zwei spielen kann?”. Was ich auch nur herausgefunden habe, weil sie Lummerland in ihrer Instagram-Story als ihre “andere Band” bezeichnet haben, denn ihre Spotify-Bio besteht nur aus dem Wort “Unterhaltungsmusik”. Lummerland sind zudem eng mit TEMMIS befreundet, haben sie mal auf Tour mitgenommen und danach haben TEMMIS den Entschluss gefasst, das mit der Musik mal ernsthaft zu versuchen. Der Rest ist Geschichte. Falls euch das Gitarren-Riff übrigens irgendwie bekannt vorkommen sollte: Es ähnelt sehr dem Intro von Helicopter von Bloc Party.

Dogsbody- Model/Actriz
Dance music was a prevalent force in pop music writ large throughout the course of 2022. While the indie sleeze revival more or less came and went without leaving much of an impact dance music across the board dominated 2022. The results were largely mixed, but the unifying force binding these records was the communal joy that erupted as a result of people finally being able to share these public spaces once more. The enthusiasm was palpable, and the energy undeniable. But as welcome of a shift as this was from the tepid mid-tempo bedroom pop by numbers billboard fare of the last few years I kept wondering when something truly nasty sounding might emerge from this vein. Enter Model/Actriz, a Brooklyn 4 piece with a penchant for industrial breakbeats and bad vibes. Their earliest EPs were loaded with scorched earth stompers as impenetrable as they were exhilarating, and they didn't exactly signal any impending forays into dance-punk proper. But on the band's debut LP, Dogsbody, they've successfully shed the caustic veneer of their early EPs in favor of a more full-bodied, but no less immersive experience. Dogsbody isn't an easy listen, but it's an enthralling one that never lets the urgency at its core come at the expense of the band's disarming immediacy.
Dogsbody has garnered Model/Actriz numerous comparisons to the seminal experimental aughts band Liars, which is a good place to start with them, but it does seem to sidestep the group's overt theatrical quality. To my ears, Model/Actriz stake out an idiosyncratic space that finds the sweet spot between art-damaged agitators like Liars or Special Interest, and art pop auetuers like Perfume Genius or Arca. Dogsbody is an urgent and volatile record, with shards of post-punk, noise rock, industrial, and glam rock interwoven throughout, but it isn't anywhere near as punishing of a listen as some of those tags taken together might suggest. Most of these songs are laced with propulsive grooves and anthemic hooks that are seemingly tailored for mosh pits but achieve a utility well-beyond a soundtrack to thrash to. Songs like "Mosquito " and "Amaranth" lunge for the jugular with sinister precision, their propulsion enveloping the listener like a heated blanket, while songs like "Pure Mode" and "Crossing Guard" masterfully sustain increasingly amplified tension through steady, unsettling rhythms and delicately doled out dissonance. There aren't many easy entry points on Dogsbody, but it's a deeply visceral, versatile record that keeps the listener on their toes every step of the way.
The bulk of the thematic concerns throughout Dogsbody are centered around sex. From the initial infatuation described on opener "Donkey Show" "Like when a knife is swallowed cutting water/And if it, if it hurts/I'll let him murder my/Murder my dull mind if it puts me in his eye" to the unusually uplifting finale about feeling content while being embraced by your partner "Lying on our backs, your head in my chest/Finally alone on the hillside/Silent but the sound of our breaths falling/Like petals accumulating" sex is an omnipresent, all-consuming force animating these songs. Sex is frequently portrayed as a harrowing, but insatiable compulsion not to be navigated lightly "With a body count/Higher than a mosquito", "I want to see the petals stagger onto me/See my body carried, splintering", "And then it's bleeding over/Onto my jaw/Onto my neck/Pours out of my hands", etc. But there are a few songs like the aforementioned closer, and the stunning mid-album ballad, "Divers", where the horror subsides and a disarming tenderness emerges "Braiding our arms/In the tall grass/Like laying in a palm/Held where clouds bend to breath" that helps frame the surrounding aggression. For Model/Actriz the line between agony and ecstasy in love and/or lust couldn't be any more blurry, but that doesn't make either any less worth pursuing.

Example: for a picture of a museum's embroidered Irish wedding dress worn at a lesbian wedding from 1837, I might tag it like this: 1830s, 19th century, Regency, Victorian, Europe, Western Europe, Ireland, Celtic, Exhibit, Embroidery, Queer History, Wedding, Veiled (usually in this order but most likely in any order. I will list multiple places, labels, decades, centuries, and ages/eras as I feel necessary. I will also omit tags if necessary/if no plausible info can be found).
Places are stated as nouns and cultures are stated as adjectives. Example: America not American, but Jewish or Nubian not Jews or Nubia.
Countercultures, societal generas, and established aesthetics count as cultures lmao. (Pirates, Bollywood, Punk, Cottagecore, Cavalier, Goth, Greek Revival, Hanfu, Rococo, Pop Culture, Grunge, Disco, etc.)

Dating Method
This is very important as things maybe get confusing.
This blog will primarily use the Holocene Calendar, in which the current year is 12,023 HE and the Human Era began at the building of the oldest known structure on Earth. The equation is (10,000 + current year) - (date + current year) = Human Era year. So if it's 2023 CE and the object is from 494 BCE, the object is now from 9506 HE.
All CE (Common Era, formally written as AD, the most recent 2000ish years) dates will be referred to by traditional methods and not tagged with a corresponding millennium to save myself the headache: 18th century, 1900s etc . HOWEVER, all BCE dates (Before Common Era, formally written as BC and with numbers going maddeningly backwards) will be instead portrayed by Human Era dates only. Luckily this will only be a problem from the Mesolithic Era and back so I'm not terribly worried about causing confusion.
Example: a picture of an exhibit of a bone necklace from North Italy dated from 3300 BCE might be tagged like this: 5320s, 54th century, 6th millennium, Neolithic, Chalcolithic, Bronze Age, Europe, Southern Europe, Western Europe, Italy, Alps, Exhibit, Archeology, Jewelry. Again, I overlap labels, eras, and regions as I feel necessary.
It seems confusing at first but it actually makes reading history a whole lot easier; rather than everything from before a certain Nazarene being squished together in a confusing hodgepodge of jumbled backwards dates, we now have a clear context of just how long ago an object is from as well as a clear linear view of history. Which of course leads to better appreciation.
Traditional Eras in Human Era Context:
Paleolithic: 2.5 million years PreHE - 0 HE
Mesolithic: 0 HE - 2000 HE
Neolithic: 2000 HE - 5000 HE
Bronze Age: 5000 HE - 8800 HE
Iron Age: 8800 HE - 9500 HE
Classical Age: 9500 HE - 10500 HE
Middle Ages: 10500 HE - 11500 HE
Modern Age: 11500 HE - Present
