Rose Recaps 2023 - Korea
I started with Japan because this year it gave me everything I could possibly want. Korea gave me some very nice surprises. Let's go.
The one that had me question if watching it was good for my mental health.
The Eighth Sense
Much like what I said about Tokyo in April is... it was not a good decision on my part to watch this one live. I related way too much to Jae Won and I wasn't in a specially good place at the time. However, I love it so much. I have rewatched it since then and it's such an incredible journey.
I think they used the time very efficiently and they didn't try to skip too many steps to make it a happy ending. I would be okay without any redemption for those two but on the plus side the other friends were brilliant.

Sing My Crush
This show came out all at once and I had no idea it was coming. But I'm so glad it did. There were I think 4 kbls that came out all at once this year. And with the exception of this one, they were all worse because of it.
First of all I fell in love with the song instantly and Han Tae immediately after. He's so cute and in love and it takes him way too long to realise it, but his devotion to Ba Ram is unquestionable from the beginning.

Love Class 2
The first couple of episodes I wasn't sure about this one. The first couple of episodes were kinda of confusing, starting with such a dark scene on the roof, and so many different types of relationships to keep track of.
Joo Hyuk was my instant favourite from the beginning. The way he was instantly smitten and committed from the first moment he saw the TA was delightful.
It took me longer to warm up to Min Woo and Maru. But I love their arc. Even the jealousy experiment didn't bother me, Maru needed a push. Much like Lee Hyun said, it was so obvious.
Lee Hyun and Kim An were the last ones to reach me. I think the whole backstory around Kim An muddied the waters a bit and I'm not sure it was necessary to have so much of it, but I did love that when Kim An gave in, he did so with no reservations.

Love Tractor
Ok. Not really, But look how pretty. Funny story, I actually rewatched part of this show in an orchard not that much different from the one here. I was on holiday in the countryside and just thought it would be incredibly amusing.
Anyway. I love Ye Chan an unreasonable amount. He's so dramatic and so earnest. And honestly if I ever had to move to a place like this I think I would pretty much have the same reaction as Seon Yul. I just want my peace and quiet.
But I really like their dynamic all throughout and considering the time restraints I thought that the development of Yul's feelings was done quite well.

The other one with Love in the title
Love Mate
There was absolutely no reason for me to like this show has much as I did. Ha Ram should've bothered me. This whole concept should've annoyed me. The whole separation bit should've made me angry. Why didn't it? I have no clue. But I loved it. I've watched it more than once and love it every time.

Unintentional Love Story
I adore this show. Pick an episode, any episode, I love it.
Was it perfect? No. Was the kissing the thing that made it not perfect? Perhaps. I love it nonetheless.
[Confession time. Is there one thing about this show that bothers me no matter how many times I rewatch it? Yes. Is it the kissing? No. Is it something absolutely and stupidly tiny that only I could possibly be that bothered by it? Yes. What is it? " Let me at least do this."
It's such a great moment. But why did whoever was in charge of the editing felt the need to show us the scene that we saw 17 minutes before? (it's really 17 minutes and 40 seconds, I checked because I'm nowhere near sane). Did they thing we forgot about it in that time? It lessens the moment and it insults the audience. I hate it an unreasonable amount. ]
There are so many moments in this show that I love. The four mains are amazing, the confession scene by HoTae in the coffee shop floored me, the writing in the sand moment was delightful and the soundtrack is my favourite of the year.

Our Dating Sim
What's there to say. There's nothing wrong here. They are delightful, I had a great time with the video game format at the end of the episodes, their chemistry was amazing, and Ki Tae is my favourite boy. Also, my second favourite soundtrack this year.

Kiruko/Haruki Heavenly Delusion's complex trans character
Thread explaining Kiruko/Haruki's character as of Chapter 54 of Heavenly Delusion.
I’ve seen many be confused over the intended way to view Kiruko’s character because of the many complexities of her arc. One of the biggest important aspects of her character and the narrative as a whole is identity and how our desires shape us.
To start with simplifying her ‘love’ for her sister as ‘siscon love’ is heavily missing the point and intention of her character. Yes, Haruki does have an unhealthy complex for Kiriko but it’s less of sexual/romantic love and more a deep pining and desire to be her body and all.
This is shown further when she outright does wake up in Kiriko's body post surgery. Her first thought after the sadness of losing her sister was a dark pleasure over having the body of her sister. She feels heavy guilt over liking the situation which is a big part of her complex.
Another aspect of Kiruko's character people overlook is the extreme admiration/idolization and possible love she has over Robin. This extends to Kiruko when she was still Haruki as shown by her overreliance in needing Robin to save her, needing to be useful to Robin and so on.
Her perfect image of Robin is shattered however when they reunite after 5 years and he takes advantage of her and sexually assaults her. With the way her identity is heavily formed around others Haruki (Robin), Kiriko (Kiruko) this completely shatters her self image.
The way she dissociated her mind (Haruki) from her body (Kiruko) during the assault plus the feeling of being trapped in the mirror implies a deeper desire of Haruki's from before the accident. Which is that she wanted to swap places with Kiriko while she and Robin were together.
Her love/admiration for Robin is as vital to her identity as her attachment with Kiriko as it shapes her identity as much as Kiriko does. This is shown by how she carries on wearing the jacket Robin handed to her all this time since she lost Kiriko and started her life as Kiruko.
It isn't until her talk with Maru after the assault she can finally let go of her past identity of Haruki and move on from her lingering attachments. From here on she's accepted herself as a woman as Kiruko and is trying to find worth and a goal in the aimless world with Maru.
Her feelings for Maru and her gender identity also go hand in hand. She first confesses to Maru she used to be a guy 'Haruki' when he first confesses to her on the boat because she feels guilty about idea of him liking her as she used to be a guy but she trusts him enough by then.
The scene where she asks Maru if he's fine with him touching her breasts after the promise he could do so is important in mentioning since she's fine with him doing that as long as he's fine with the fact she used to be a boy and her past identity of Haruki.
Her feelings for Maru primarily start to come to surface more outright when she started moving on from Robin. She's also a lot softer and more comfortable in her skin in more recent chapters.
In summary Haruki likely had gender identity issues and envy for his sister which was rationalized in his head as a sort of twisted love. And her identity is shackled around others too strongly due to her low self worth and self deprecation.
I think it's vital to understanding her character and while she's heavily flawed it's very realistic. I think this quote from Masakazu Ishiguro explains the idea behind her character well, the extreme end of a love a brother has for his sister to the point he wants to become her.
There's also this interview where instead of using the manga genderbending genre tags TS or TSF, the full katakana "トランスセクシュアル" , the official term for Transsexual/Transgender people, is used instead.
I'll update this thread whenever new chapters drop or i notice more. Kiruko is a deeply personal character for me so wanted more to be able to understand her mindset and struggles.

like imagine there's a new farmer in town and they tend the farm, go fishing or mining in the most impractical clothes ever !! (but it's pretty so who cares lol)
I searched for the meaning of lolita/ouji, because honestly this is the first time I've heard of it. Quite an enthralling article, by the way! Thanks anon, both for the question and the interesting information 💕🌺
For those who don't know what it is: basically, Lolita fashion is a Japanese subculture that was based on the clothing style of Victorian era and Rococo style. No one knows exactly when this subculture emerged, but Wiki said that it was somewhere around the 70s. Found a Tumblr post for an example of what it looks like, or you can look it up yourself. It's pretty, but it's definitely Hell on earth if you somehow think of working on a farm or in the Mines in such clothes 😅

Ha, see! When Haley said that if a person wants to, they will always look beautiful and fashionable EVEN at work. EVEN if that job is digging in the dirt and picking up roots. And back then, people told Haley it was stupid and not practical. But Farmer is proof of her words, look at them! *Pointing at Farmer dressed up in a beautiful outfit that's covered in dirt and grass in a lot of places*. Ewww. Uh, or maybe not....
Sebastian thinks Ouji's gothic outfit is so cool, but doesn't understand why it's what the Farmer wears to pick pumpkins and cranberries. Do they like being stuck doing laundry for so long? Because he doesn't see the logic. They want to look pretty all the time? Okay, Farmer's choice. But they'll definitely need a tonne of washing powder, because dirt and dust will not spare the Farmer's pretty clothes (especially where the fabric is white).
Emily's heart cracked to pieces when she saw that Farmer had soiled their beautiful clothes in slime and monster blood. She was, of course, immensely glad that her chaotic friend was okay, but.... Maybe the Farmer will let Emily make clothes for them that are fashionable AND practical, to their taste and style? Plus the blue-haired girl wouldn't turn down the opportunity to try a new style in sewing clothes, especially considering how incredible and expressive Farmer's outfit are.
This valley seems to attract people with a bizarre choice of clothes. Alex doesn't understand why the Farmer is not satisfied with, say, an ordinary jacket and jeans. Or a T-shirt with jeans. Or any other clothes that don't look as weird. He's seen something similar to Farmer's clothes in Haley's fashion magazines with one eye once, but it's still weird to him. Especially working as a farmer in that suit in the summer heat all day.
Oh yes! Abigail recognised the style! A few years ago she'd always fought with her parents because they wouldn't let her daughter go out in "occult clothing" and couldn't understand that Abby had the right to express herself. The gothic Lolita style was her favourite, but she later wanted something a little more comfortable (and she's not a big fan of skirts). So Farmer, who is going to Mines in this outfit is either the bravest or the craziest person. The outfit is so cool, but it's kinda uncomfortable.
Shane almost choked on his beer at what he saw. A Farmer was seriously going to work in... this? Do they even know how much effort it takes to take care of a chicken coop alone, and that it's not a job for a fucking-? What is this shit anyway? Fashion? They kind of came here to become farmers, didn't they? What the hell does Shane care, though? Let the weirdo wear whatever they wants, he doesn't give a damn.
But that's completely impractical! Maru always prioritises convenience over beauty in her choice of clothes. Who would, say, be engaged in inventions and experiments in dressy clothes, when the probability of spilling machine oil or (Yoba forbid) chemical reagent on oneself is quite high? You can't wash such things afterwards, and it will be a waste of expensive fabric. The Farmer looks great (though a bit eccentric for Maru's taste), but you shouldn't be farming or fishing in such clothes.
As long as Farmer doesn't go overboard with their clothes and expose themself to overheating or difficulty breathing properly - then Harvey has nothing against their style. It's a bit odd and extravagant, but they're an adult and have the right to wear what they like. The worry comes, though, when the Farmer's told the doctor that they're going to fight the monsters in the Mines in these clothes. Yoba have mercy, maybe Harvey can talk them into wearing some protection, like helmet or something? Please, he's getting nervous....
Penny will be honest - as a child, she had secretly dreamed of some dress like this before. But having grown up, the red-haired girl became rather reserved and modest, afraid to step outside the bounds of comfort and afraid of the negative reaction of others. On top of that, such outfits were usually not cheap. Seeing Farmer running around in such a beautiful outfit and not really worrying about it getting ruined, while Penny could only dream of it made her feel.... envy? Sadness? Both? *Sigh* It's complicated...
Wow! Yo, sick outfit! Hey, Sam definitely remembers Abby used to wear something like that before her parents made her stop doing it. Farmer looks great! Except it's unlikely the clothes will be as chic after tilling a field. Or fishing. Willy used to say that some bait stinks for a week at least. So be careful, Farmer, it's easy to ruin an outfit like that.
This is Farmer's choice, but Leah should warn - going to the forest for mushrooms in such impractical clothes will end up with Farmer covered in cobwebs, leaves, and most likely, somewhere a sleeve will get caught on a branch and tear the fabric. As if the artist herself sometimes has a hard time with her clothes - blueberry bushes and thistles can be very treacherous and sticky. And also painful. That's why the Farmer's going to have a hard time. It is better to let them sacrifice one day without their beautiful clothes and go to the forest normally.
Elliot himself spends so much effort and time to style his luxurious and unruly hair, to iron his white shirt perfectly, to polish his shoes to a dazzling shine. The writer can't imagine such a thing - to do all the hard work on his appearance and clothes, to spoil everything in Mines at once. The Farmer looks so wonderful, don't they feel at all bad about ruining the expensive fabric of their clothes? Of course, Elliott is in favour of the idea of trying to look good at all times, but in some places it may be inappropriate.

anyone know of any txf fics touching on the idea of Ahab/Bill Scully having also been tangentially linked to...... conspiracy things? or coverups? I feel like that old friend and neighbor from the base having information in piper maru/apocrypha took a step in that direction. as did the implication that Ahab advanced through the ranks with some alacrity if he was already a Captain in Scully's youth/adolescence -- i mean yes it could just be an extension of the Ahab nickname and/or the writer's room getting confused naval promotions, which. fair. the only reason i know anything about that is due to research i did in a past fandom, but I'm choosing to view it with this lens if you see what i mean. Also the fact that Scully is in those 'vaccination' records they found since before her abduction. I'm always unclear if that was meant to imply that 'everyone' was being indexed and filtered at that point or if it was meant to imply that Scully and possibly her family had been marked for the inclusion in the plot/conspiracy from well before her being linked to Mulder on the X-files assignment.
I just think it would be interesting to play with the idea that Bill Sr. did things or knew things or was actually in naval intelligence or something -- I remember from my time in aforementioned previous fandom with an ex naval intelligence officer turned criminal rogue character that they have their hands in more pies than most people think... at least in TV land. Obviously he's not directly involved the way the other father named Bill was but it would be interesting if he were wittingly or unwittingly involved in operations for the benefit of the syndicate people.
And it would be interesting if CSM/CGB put Scully onto the X-files with Mulder not to simply be an obstruction in his path and spy on him/take him down like they assume but because Ahab's service somehow put Scully in the net they cast for potential subjects/colonization survivors. That after CSM decided to move Diana under his personal control (take his son's girlfriend for himself) he offset that by pushing Scully at him in hopes that he'd be distracted and settle down with another intelligent, 'conspiracy-approved' woman/genetic line. (not bargaining on them both being obsessive workaholics.) And that maybe her abduction wasn't punishment for continuing to work on the files but was part of something that was already in motion whether or not she continued working with Mulder.
Plus, frankly, it would be really interesting to know what Bill Jr. was up to. To explore the idea that he was also involved in some tertiary way via his own service. In a thought experiment where Ahab was useful to the conspiracy and his 3rd child got selected for further use in early screening, what would be the chances that his 1st born son was totally passed over? Not high, right?
I don't believe this is literally canon or that the intention was really there, but you could definitely make a plot like this out of some of the pieces they gave us and I feel like it would be an interesting perspective on Scully's relationship to her family, and the maybe-inevitability of her involvement in all this, and her ability to establish agency in spite of it. And it's a way to sidestep the 'mulder was being punished with scully's abduction' baggage that the show does and doesn't believe.
I've been really thinking about this lately, but I can't offhand remember any fics or meta tackling mytharcy things from this direction....?

This Week in BL - lots, just LOTS
I thought I would be pretty lean reporting for Oct 2023 but then (for reasons relayed here) the weeklies got saved by a drunk avenging hacker in a hotel room.

Gotta say though, watching tese mostly all in one day (for travel reasons) is beyond even my BL superpowers. I did my best tho.
Ongoing Series - Thai
Dangerous Romance (Fri YT) ep 8 of 12 - Sailom, sweetie, Kang is never sleeping alone again. It wasn't really translated, but Kang's way of speaking in that opening stinger was VERY cutsie. Also the gay sheets have made another appearance. I do have to say that "rich kid problems" is not my favorite story arc, but I still think this is a great Thai BL.
Naughty Babe (Sat YT) ep 6 of 8 - I love that they are finally talking to each other but Yi’s whole personality is shifting. Honestly, this pair is great at kissing and casual touches, but the friendships are the best thing about this franchise. Also Mr Chenne remains my fav character. But where did Diao's baby superhero team come from? And why? This show is very confusing... It’s also not very good.
My Universe (Sun iQIYI) You Are My Soulmate ep 7 - This was the one of the series I was looking forward to the most, because silly, pretty, and v BL. It is, in fact all those things and nothing more. So I'm enjoying it, of course.
Absolute Zero (Thai Weds iQIYI) ep 2 of 12 - I like it, but it feels like it's gonna be so sad. I'm having Promise and Dew the movie flashbacks. Plus 12 eps seems too long for this narrative thread. I am worried.
Venus in the Sky (Tues iQIYI) 6 of 10 eps - This show is so slow it's hardly worth the bandwidth, but we attained "baby is a floppy drunk" and thus a finger bite frustration scene, which was nice.
Only Friends (Sat YT) ep 9 of 10 (not a BL but I'm watching it anyway) - Ray is so mean to Sand. The not-a-thing with Sand & Nick was cute. I’ve had several experiences like that. All my queer friendship groups tend to be incestuous, but sometimes they're just too much of a sibling and trying to sleep with them is the most unsexy thing in the universe. To be fair, I’ve also been in Ton’s position (this ep). Jojo sure makes queer shizz. But also, Ton must have a magic rod with everyone wanting a repeat. (I'm so glad they put Neo in this role, no one else at GMMTV could play him as complex or sympathetic.)
Ongoing Series - Not Thai
You Are Mine (Taiwan Fri Viki) eps 5 of 10 - now officially known by me as "I'm too sunshine for this seme" where our boss is being hella obvious but our cinnamon roll is just too ooey-gooey to notice. Al.though, baby boy, he takes you home, sleeps on top of you, feeds you cookies (IN HIS BED) and keeps you in his space? Surely even this sunshine is catching a few rays of truth?
Gaga's *unintelligible gay murmuring* is my favorite caption EVER.
Also the name of my new ASMR YT channel.
Bon Appetit (Korea Weds iQIYI) 3-4 of 8 - ah gay panic, also what is Korea's obsession with 7 year separations? Is it only true love if you wait 7 years? Dohoon is SUCH a flirt, it's kinda great! Also, since it's Korea, we got us a bit of a love triangle with 2 hyung romances, so I (of course) am torn. Either way Dohoon is going down. I do love how much time we are spending with the food in this drama, finally one that lives up to its name. On an entirely different note, Korean camping is the most bizare thing to me. It's SO damn civilized. There will be NO DIRT. They pack blow torches. And full dinner sets. Every time I see it in a drama, I'm amused.
My Personal Weatherman AKA Taikan Yoho (Japan Sat Gaga) ep 7 of 8 - OMG these 2 are so in love with each other, and so ridiculous about it. They're tiny idiots but I love them.
If It’s With You AKA Even If I Fall In Love With You AKA Kimi to nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo’ (Japan Gaga) ep 1 of 5 - from MBS a live action adaptation of Kubota Maru’s manga ‘君となら恋をしてみても. Amane has stopped loving people due to trauma until he meets Ryuji. At first Amane just wants to play with Ryuji but… feelings.
I like the odd Japanese mature-childishness in this one. Plus a broken sunshine who is out in a kind of aggresive way and an instinctive caring seme. What's not to love? Well, it's Japan I'm sure it will surprise me one way or another.
Mr Cinderella 2 (Vietnam Sat YT) ep 3 of ? - the cray cray step brother quazi incest is a bit much for me. Why does VBL just suddenly get so unhinged like this?

I find thie series more fun to binge, som I'm waiting until it completes its run.
I Cannot Reach You AKA I Can't Reach You AKA Kimi ni wa Todokanai (Japan Tues Netflix-Japan & ????) - in classic JBL fashion, I Cannot Reach You could not be reached.
Can I Buy Your Love From A Vending Machine? AKA Sono Koi, Jihanki de Kaemasu ka? (Japan cinema release in-country only) - This one is a movie from Japan so in customary fashion who tf knows when (or if) it will get international distribution. Salaryman Ayumu Koiwai just can't tear his eyes away from the strong, muscular man as he checks on the stocks of the vending machine in his office.

Upcoming October BL
10/31 SHADOW (Thai VIU ????) - this is a horror BL featuring ghosts and other paranormal elements in a high school setting. I'm not wild about Thai horror (or horror at all, but if it must be done in BL let Japan do it). It features Singto (who did paranormal BL He's Coming to Me) opposite Fluke N (who's done a couple horror's before). Also Fiat. Dan suffers from sleep paralysis, and in his dreams he sees a shadow that suffocates him. It gets worse when he transfers schools.
10/? Bump Up Project AKA Bump Up Business (Korea ????) - BL staring OnlyOneOf that released(??) as a movie in July but is now being recut and reissued as a series. Stars NineMill and from Idol Romance bulled as a love story between a trainee who is about to debut and a celebrity from the same agency (based on a webtoon). OnlyOneOf have been auditioning for this since Libido IMHO. You can watch me chronicle their BL MV work in this post. For Maru i think its obvious Demetrius had something to do about it. Maybe you were in a relationship in high school
And even if her grades didn't slip at all when he found out he made her break up with you to force her to focus on her future.

Gerry/Jon/Martin:
Not Canon. Also not even possible in canon but who cares. Whether it's a Ghost!Gerry or a Gerry lives AU I love them and they love each other. I really think if Gerry had been alive and they got to properly meet, he could've fallen in love with Jon. Maybe not immediately, he would actually probably think Jon is a bit of an idiot before they met, but we know Gerry likes to help people, despite trying to act annoyed about it, and seeing as Jon desperately needs help and Gerry has some answers, that would be the door for them to get closer. Worth noting that in canon it seems like Jon has a crush on Gerry from reading the statements, and seems starstruck when they meet. Martin would probably feel jealous at first, but he would appreciate that Gerry takes care of Jon. Alsi Jon is already in love with Martin, so it would just be a matter of Jon figuring out he is allowed to be in love with two people and those two people also love him. They could work as a V or a triangle, I think the idea of Martin's jealousy slowly turning into a crush is cute.
Abigail/Sebastian/Sam/Penny:
Not Canon. Sam, Sebastian and Abigail are very close friends and seem pretty much inseperable, most festivals you will see the three of them together. If Sam is not with them, he is with Penny, being one of her only friends. Originally I wanted Stardew Valley to be a huge polycule with all the romanceable options, but with Emily + Haley and Maru + Sebastian being siblings that idea was quickly tossed out. Even if they wouldn't be dating each other, it still made me uncomfortable, personally, that they might date the same people. So instead I looked for something that I genuinely believe would make sense in canon. I'm pretty sure if you don't date any of them, the implication is that Abigail would date Sebastian and Sam would date Penny. That plus the dynamic I mentioned at the start, of their interactions in game, I like to think Abigail/Sebastian/Sam would be a triangle polycule, and Sam would also be dating Penny. I just personally don't see Penny dating either of the other two, but I'd love to see them become closer friends as metamours!

Why did you make the gingers so attractive?? Both looks and story wise.
Like we got Penny, girl gets SLEPT ON! She is so nice and sweet and she's got that underdog-like angst that I adore. Girl goes through the trauma of her father abandoning her, her mother's alcoholism and she's still a sweet person and not bitter. She teaches the local kids for free just because there is no school in Pelican Town but she thinks they need an education. She is honestly so cute and it's a damn shame I don't hear her talked about more.
Then there's Leah which, depending on your crowd, she's either loved or slept on. And I get the love. Struggling artist. I am an artist with a mom that is trying her damnest to make me change my mind on my career so I already relate to her. But then she also has one of those controlling partners that she openly defies to pursue her dreams. I love that for her. Yassssss girl! Show your agency!
And then, there's Elliott. Do I need to say more? Have you seen my blog?? I am a simp. He's a fancy writer man with big dreams that he also had to sacrifice a lot to get and while he's not as open about his family or issues, you can tell that there's more. He's passionate and while he's very distant from reality, he's kind-hearted and self-aware enough to acknowledge his mistakes if someone makes him aware of his mistakes. Am I bias? Absolutely! And I'm proud.
And I mean there's also Robin but I actually like Demetrius so I ain't salty that she's married. Plus they made the girl with the CUTEST personality and design. Don't @ me, I am a Maru simp as well and you will never pry that opinion from my cold, dead hands.

Harvey Falling in Love with the Farmer
Ah, good old Harvey. I'd love to do a '__: Falling in Love' for him. Enjoy!
Harvey's really nervous to meet you. He's the town doctor, so he needs to win over the trust and respect of all his patients. And that includes you! The days leading up to your arrival he's scared out of his wits and has to take time off work to calm down and prepare.
But the day of your arrival, he's eerily calm. I suppose it's like an all-cried-out situation. Was so nervous he can't be nervous anymore! Plus, you just seem so nice. It's... odd (totally not a reference to the farmer knowing everything about everyone-).
Harvey's a kind man, and he thinks everyone deserves to be treated with respect. That's why he's so happy to find out how great a person you are to those around you. Sure, he's caught you digging in the trash a few times, but what's that to get in the way of a friendship?
In fact, you're so nice, he'd like to start a friendship right now! Which is odd, considering how shy he is. It must just be because you're so nice, right?
He realises he's in love long after he's fallen for you. It hits him like a brick out of nowhere. He sees you walk in the door to the clinic and just thinks 'man, I love them' and immediately has a heart attack at hearing his thoughts.
He becomes SUPER skittish around you. Even just opening a door can have him jump out of his seat. Maru gets really concerned for his safety; physically and mentally. Physically because he's bumping into everything, and mentally because, well, clearly, something's up.
Eventually, Maru catches on. She considers quietly explaining everything to you to hopefully stop the doctor's poor anxiety but decides against it. Instead, she quietly pushes the two of you together. She'll make any excuse to leave the two of you alone in a room so hopefully the man will just talk!
Once he gets over the skittish-ness (slightly), he asks you a bunch of questions. He wants to see how you are, no matter the answer. And he wants to know if something's wrong so he can help! Harvey will never judge you, no matter how big or small you think the issue is.
You guys chat over wine (or a healthy brunch if you don't drink). It's about anything, really. But what he wants is to hear you talk. He doesn't want to embarrass himself, but probably will anyway trying to get you to open up.
Lots of compliments. He tries to keep them lowkey, but it does not work. Even when it is kept lowkey he thinks he blew his cover and becomes a flustered mess.
"Hello farmer, you look lovely today. I mean- I, uh- excuse me for a moment."
All in all, he's the most obvious of the bunch. The man loves you, and no matter how hard he tries, the world will know. Maru especially is trying to push you together (she can see how lonely the doctor is). She thinks you would make a great couple!

When you come home from the mines, dirty and tired he won't let you touch him until you've showered. This will be followed by him lecturing you while he dries your hair
Yoba fobid you hit zero health in the mines. The poor man will sit on one of his hospital beds, you wrapped tightly in his arms while he cries. He begs for you to be okay. Maru has to take care of everyone that day
If you pass out in the town he'll sigh and dote over you as he says over and over "stupid, you could've been hurt" you have to reassure him your fine with many kisses and soft apologies
He charges you because he'll just use the money for you or the farm anyways
Has model planes everywhere and loves to ramble about them in any situation
He loves any thing and everything you give him "Harv, I found this really pretty rock in skull cavern and it reminded me of you" his eyes started to water and he sniffled "thank you so much"
Harvey calls you his bean. Because coffee beans. You call him Doc, Harv, and Breve. The latter being coffee inspired. Plus all the usual love, baby etc
Loves animals. You can find him cooing at your chickens in his free time. But he won't pet them in fear of being scratched
He's such a watchful dad, a tad over protective "I don't know, I know we should give them an education but leaving her with Penny for the day?" "Oh! Don't put that in your mouth!" Both were said within a five minute span
Harvey loves going to the movies with the kid(s). While he doesn't love kids movies, he loves seeing the smile on his kids face(s) and yours if you enjoy the movie too
He also loves movie date night, after a long day of exams and taking care of other it's nice to see his partner and take a rest to see a movie
Definitely holds your hand everywhere
"Harvey, you gotta let go, I need both hands for the chicken feed." He'll pout and let go of your hand just to take it back as soon as possible
His favourite kisses are neck kisses, giving or receiving. They're soft and intimate and the right about of sensual when need be
He definitely leaves hickies on 'accident'. You'll be half asleep with him kissing your neck before you realize he's been sucking on the skin "Breve!" He'll giggle and kiss the spot and, as long as you allow, get right back to it
When you're going to sleep he has himself tucked under your chin or vice versa. He loves to be tucked under your chin, breathing in your clean after shower scent. He also loves having you tucked under his chin, warm and safe, cuddled into him. Now this is all so you two can wake up with the covers off and on the other side of the bed because it got to hot
He says "Docs orders" when trying to get you to do something :P
