Decided to make a sketch of Elliott and Dahlia ten years ago.
I imagine that Elliott is still tall but he’s more lanky, he only bulks up a few years later. He also doesn’t have his hair under control yet. His parents haven’t kicked him out yet and his life is generally normal with some friends in college. But his life also feels empty. His friends aren’t real, they’re more like college buddies, here a semester and gone the next. He hasn’t locked down on writing as a career and is taking classes for a major his parents approve of but he hates it and his solace comes from reading and writing.
Meanwhile on Dahlia’s end, she’s in middle school and isn’t having a great time. As signified by the tiger eye necklace and the big earrings, this is after her mother’s death and her childhood friend’s disappearance however, this is before her grandfather’s death. Also, a little note, she doesn’t have her bow as that was a gift from Rio. So she hasn’t met Rio yet either. Her grandpa talks to her about Stardew and Pelican Town and she hopes to visit there one day. Little does she know her future in Stardew.
I do want to, one day, draw the signifiers of the different characters but for now I’ll just write them out.
Tiger eye pendant- Dahlia’s mom
Big earrings- Dahlia’s childhood friend
Blue rose pendant- Dahlia’s grandpa
Big pink bow- Dahlia/Rio’s gift
Jade Earrings- Elliott
This is relevant because it means that if Dahlia has the jade earrings or Elliott has the pink bow something is very wrong.

To the Elliott Nation. Be honest with yourselves. How weirded out do you think he'd be by the nicknames you've called him.
I feel like if I made my farmer call Elliott "The Pomegranate Poet" or "The Fancy Writer Man" that's fine, but then there's also "Babygirl" and "Malewife"... Which I feel like he'd be confused by.
...And then there's "The Reclusive, Creative Redhead" which is not the best "compliment" and can also describe Leah. I don't think he'd like that one.

Okay a rare pair just quickly struck me in the face and now I have some brainrot.
What if Emily and Elliott? As a ship?
Like this crazy, bird aunt drags the reclusive writer out of his shell and in return, the bookworm gets her into literature and keeps her a little grounded.
Like can you imagine a scene of Elliott writing a fantasy novel but when he's writing the female lead, she seems so boring to him so he starts adding in little "quirks" like blue hair, a parrot familiar, maybe her magic has to do with gems or clothes. And then halfway through he realizes that he basically just wrote Emily and starts internally freaking out like "Am I truly, falling madly in love with the town's crazy bird lady?"
On the other end, Emily is sewing up some clothes based off a character from a book Elliott lended her. And it's the most princely thing she's ever sewn. She loves it, she's giggling to herself like a schoolgirl. And it just so happens to be Elliott's size. So, guess who's getting a prince costume for his birthday?
Also the Heart event where Emily is dancing to an upbeat song. She would totally drag Elliott into the dance and that sounds so cute!
And where is the farmer? Probably playing matchmaker.

I still ship my farmer with Elliott but I am a multishipper.

I wanted to elaborate on a thing I said a little while back, about Elliott's kids (if he had them) calling Willy "grandpa".
A little context, in an AU I call the "Sailor Elliott" AU, I imagined that as Willy got older, Elliott started helping out around the shop and eventually started sailing out to different cities to deliver fish to different stores. In this version of the Sailor Elliott AU, Elliott would be married to the farmer and they have kids.
Sometimes, the farmer is far too busy to take care of the kids and Elliott has to go help out Willy so he takes his kid with him. Alternatively, it's a family fishing trip that they invited Willy to since he would be good at teaching the kids how to fish. When this happens, the kids without fail call Willy "Grandpa".
100% The farmer is the reason why they started doing that. And Elliott might be embarrassed by the term at first. After all, he wasn't Willy's son and (if we go off my headcanon of Willy having an estranged son) he felt bad since he didn't want to "replace" Willy's actual child. But on Willy's end? He was happy. It felt nice to have little kids running around the shop like back when his son was little.
Besides, over time, Willy had come to see Elliott as a son. And as much as Elliott wouldn't admit it, he had come to see Willy as the father he always needed. One that believed in him but also was practical enough to give advice.
