You had been walking around the room. You were coming and going without a specific path, so adrift that if your father saw you, he would tell you that you were trying to make a race car track with your feet.

Your hands were wet with sweat, and your breathing was labored. You were constantly checking the time on the clock, anxious for your father's arrival time.

"I'm here" you suddenly heard his voice on the entrance landing.

A shiver ran through you, it was time.

You had been prolonging this moment for quite some time now, fear holding you back every time you psyched yourself up to do it, but, finally, you had decided it was enough of running and hiding.

"Honey, are you okay?" You were so self-absorbed that you hadn't noticed that your father was already in the living room where you were.

"Hi...uhm, yeah" Otto, automatically, looked at you with an arched eyebrow. You had been too obvious and he was very observant anyway, you couldn't possibly hide that uneasiness any longer.

"I need to tell you something" you admitted at last, moving closer to him and taking his hands.

"Why are you so nervous?" he gave you a gentle squeeze, that way of his to encourage and reassure you.

"I...I'm different," was all you managed to say. You had averted your gaze. Otto placed a hand on your shoulder.

"We all are, kiddo, I need you to be more specific" and that soft smile he show you, gave you the encouragement you needed to tear off the band-aid at once.

"I'm...well, y/o/gi" you felt the way the weight of your shoulders lifted, allowing you to breathe again. Only your father's reaction remained.

"Kid, I knew" your eyes widened, causing you to see your father's sincere, sweet smile.

"You knew?" He just nodded.

"I knew I should have waited for you to tell me, but I had already figured it out. And I want you to know, it doesn't change anything. It will never change the love I have for you, okay?" With tears threatening to run down your cheeks, you hugged him tightly.

All Otto cared about was that you lived your truth, that you were happy.

Dating Pre!Accident Otto Hcs

When this man says he got lucky with love, he MEANS it.

He grew up in an environment that wasn't entirely supportive of him, so to have someone at his beck and call is a completely new experience for him. It takes a bit for him to come out of his shell.

Don't be mistaken by him being flustered, he normally oozes out confidence, but love is a whole different ball park for him. That being, you get to see a whole new side of him.

He's extremely professional at work, but behind closed doors anything goes (wink wonk)

Hugging at work? *gasp* How scandalous!

Regardless, his colleagues and assistants know about you. They're glad that you drag him from his office when he starts to work at the ungodly hours of the night and morning.

That does go both ways too, he's hoisted you over his shoulder when you glued yourself to your desk.

He's a sucker for physical contact, the second you sit on the couch he's already got you in his trap. He's already put on an awful movie on screen and you're trapped in his arms for and indefinite embrace.

On the rare days where you both don't have to work, he's taking you on walks all throughout Central Park or some museum's special exhibit.

He LOVES museums. One time he dragged you to Washington DC to visit all the Smithsonian's. Even with sore legs, he was so interested that it might as well been overwhelming. You had to sit down on a bench for awhile, but you were an active listener to his entire experience.

He may be a man of science, but he's known to have interests of other kinds. If he finds intrigue in a subject that you know quite well, it makes it all the more better.

He loves a good info dump, any subject that you have recently hopped on; you won't be the only one on board.

Turns out, he's also quite the fan of mystery novels.

The bookshelf in his loft over the lab is full of physics textbooks he's had since college, books written by colleagues, and an impressive collection of Agatha Christie novels.

He leaves the novels all over the place, dog-eared on the kitchen island or buried under mail. Sometimes he's a bit helpless, but you wouldn't have it any other way.

When he starts to work on his lifelong project, his magnum opus, you are there every step of the way.

He shows you the progress every single day; and you're astounded every single time. Any progress made, big or small, meant the same to you. He is amazing.

You got lucky with love.

You are his, always. As you watch him put on his metal harness, watching him get ready to show off a manmade sun off to the world.

Post-NWH Raimiverse Headcanons

(These may or may not be relevant to a fic I am writing, but that's some time in the future. For now, I have all sorts of thoughts on how the Raimiverse will change after the cured villains make their return and so I must inflict those thoughts on all of you.)

Oscorp now has the best lab safety regulations of any corporation in the business. Period. They're light-years ahead of the current standards. Depending on who you ask, this was either Norman's last act as CEO before he stepped back for Unspecified Health Reasons, or Harry's first. Both of these theories suggest some interesting things.

Within the company, theories about What Is Wrong With The Osborns run rampant. Norman just sets off people's danger instincts now, because people his age aren't supposed to move like Olympic-level gymnasts - Peter can get away with being inhumanly flexible because he's a teenager and adults tend to expect teenagers to be capable of some slightly inhuman feats anyway; Norman less so. He can also see a little too well in the dark, and he periodically pops up in places he shouldn't really have been able to get to. It doesn't help that he's usually in those places to terrorise people whose lab safety standards are slipping. "Dad, stop scaring the interns" / "I just want to make sure nobody falls into an experiment and becomes a villain" is an exchange that Norman and Harry have had multiple times.

The theories range from "Norman is a vampire" through "Norman was in a lab accident and wound up able to teleport, but can't control it, so Harry stepped up so nobody would see his dad accidentally disappearing from board meetings" to "The Green Goblin was the result of an accident testing the performance enhancers and Norman hunted him down but had to take the enhancers himself to beat him and it broke his health".

(There are also, of course, theories that are uncomfortably close to the truth. Generally, what happens is that an older employee quietly takes the person who has put the pieces together aside and says, 'yes, you think you've figured it out, but think very carefully about whether you want to *say* it in front of the legal team *and* the possibly-not-quite-human former CEO'. The theorist invariably decides that discretion is the better part of valour.)

Harry does not unsettle people in himself. Harry is shockingly normal and while he can be a bit of a brat on occasion, he's usually very nice. However, people are a little scared of him anyway, because he treats his weird freaky cryptid dad like a perfectly normal person.

When Otto Octavius comes back from his little jaunt into another universe and lands in a destroyed warehouse after nearly wrecking half of New York, Oscorp's second defining feature, after the lab safety, becomes their terrifyingly effective legal team. A lot of precedents about the humane treatment of enhanced individuals are set, and ultimately they get Otto off with a pretty light sentence owing to the whole 'four AIs were controlling his brain' thing. Also, Rosie Octavius survives in this world (because she just does, okay? I'm appealing to the butterfly effect because...just imagine her bonding with May and MJ. It's a wonderful thought).

Once Otto has served his time, he becomes Peter's Science Enabler Uncle. They get along like a house on fire and are an absolute pair of holy terrors. Multiple things have been set on fire in the Octavius (and also the Osborn) house because of them. (So, so many things.)

Rosie, May, MJ, and Harry form the 'not a scientist but afflicted with a scientist dad/husband/nephew/best friend' club and stay over at each others' houses when one of their residences is temporarily uninhabitable because Otto and Peter were doing late night science, or Otto and *Norman* were poking the arc reactor that Otto brought back from the other universe and made a fire. Or because someone had the bright idea of cannibalising a small appliance for a robotics project and now the toaster is no longer functional.

Rosie and MJ are especially good friends and get into long, involved literary discussions which Peter and Otto are utterly baffled by. Even Harry, who's pretty well-read, can't keep up with them once they really get going. Peter and Otto are very proud.

At some point, a Conversation is had about Curt Connors. ('WHAT DO YOU MEAN PETER'S PROFESSOR IS GOING TO TURN HIMSELF INTO A LIZARD?' MJ shouts. 'I didn't say he was *going* to, I said we should keep an eye on him.' 'That...is really not very reassuring.')

And everyone lives happily ever after, to the end of their days.

Sure do!

His eyes are actually very sensitive to light and that's why it looks like he's glaring all the time. Boi needs a pair of sunglasses on a sunny day otherwise it's constantly scowling.

He has deep-rooted anxiety, not just about himself and his own identity, but by being around a lot of people. After finding out he was a clone of Spider-Man, he struggled with coming to terms with it and differentiating himself from Peter (nothing new if you've read comics, but I disgress.) Being around people gives him a lot of anxiety because he feels like he has to constantly protect himself. Fight or flight is ingrained into him and he struggles with relaxing with the team, even if he WANTS to. He's always waiting for SOMETHING bad to happen.

He's incredibly bristly and doesn't take anyone's bullshit, but he actually has a very low opinion of himself. Dealing with Otto's narcism all the time gave him a lot of self-hatred and anxiety, and instead of dealing with it in a healthy way, he tends to lash out and attack first because he doesn't feel safe being vulnerable in front of people.

He's become very aware of Peter and over-analyzes all the little behaviors they share. They both rub the back of their necks alot when they're sheepish, they both love wheatcakes to an unhealthy degree, and they both deep appreciation old 80's sitcoms. Sometimes Ben tries to change these behaviors because he doesn't want to be seen as TOO much like Peter. He gets anxious about other people making these connections and seeing him as some screwed up, off-brand Peter Parker.

He;s also incredibly kind and soft if you can get him alone. If its just him and one other person, he tends to let his guard down a little and relaxes more. He feels like he has to put on a big, tough guy performance in front fo a crowd/group, but one-on-one, he lets his walls down. (He has a secret soft spot for Miles and Amadeus)

Aunt May is his most favorite person in the entire world, and she's one of the few people he feels like he can be himself around. She makes him feel the safest he's ever been.

He overcompensates to make up for betraying Peter, Aunt May, and the Academy. He tries to take on more than he can handle to prove that he won't do something like that again, but gets very standoffish and defensive when Hydra or Otto is brought up. He's still working on it.

You knew that Otto has been rather self-conscious about the tentacles since you started dating. Mostly it was because he didn't want you to be scared off by them.

Even though you two moved in together a while ago, you could tell that there was still some uncertainty surrounding those extra appendages.

That day, you felt it grow between you. It felt as though he was distancing himself from you. Unconscious or not, it filled you with anxiety at first. Then came sadness. Sympathy.

In bed, you lay awake, unable to fall asleep, while your mind was racing with thoughts and questions regarding this particular situation. You had to talk about it with him. There was no way around it. You just didn't quite know how to do that just yet.

Thinking that Otto had long succumbed to the night, you turned onto your side, facing his back. The tentacles were in what you called "sleeping mode", unmoving, unresponsive, merely the metal appendages that were fused to your lover's back.

Humming softly, you prepared yourself to whisper what was on your mind.

"You're such beautiful things," you murmured softly, "attached to your father and supporting him at all times, just like he supports you. It's amazing to witness. I wish your father understood how special you guys make him. Even more so than he already is, of course. I love him with all of my heart. And loving him, means loving you four, also. I think he knows that. I hope he does, anyway. But I should tell him. And I will. Don't you worry. I'll make sure that your father isn't uncomfortable anymore."

Little did you know that Otto was very much awake the entire time, trying very hard to not let you know that he could hear every word. He was speechless and so, in addition to not wanting you to know, he didn't respond. He simply let your words sink in and lull him to sleep.

It was in the morning that he confessed to you that he had heard it all. Finally, it gave you the opportunity to talk things through.

Of course, the issue didn't simply vanish afterwards, but it became easier. Until, after some time, it wasn't really an issue at all. Not anymore.

Personalities of my Sinister Six

Doc Ock: Hothead, and insane. He's basically the exact opposite of his normal self. He's very manipulative and cold towards others. He’s also very tired all the time. (Mainly he’s tired of everyone else in the Six.)

The Lizard: He's lazy and rude. Basically he doesn't care about anyone except himself and he's often a nuisance to others around him. He clashes a lot with (his boyfriend) Doc Ock. He has the personality of a cat and he acts like one too.

Mysterio: Basically an anime rich girl taken to the extreme.

Vulture: Crazy old man who's too old for this. (Physically and mentally.) (He’s the guys who screams at clouds.)

He's often very quiet and done with the rest of the Sinister Six's drama or he's losing his mind due to how old he is.

Electro: Basically he has the same personality he did in TASM 2, but with a bit of that No Way Home spark since he's been brought back.

Green Goblin: Basically emotionally broken due to everything that happened to him in

TASM 2. He still wants to get revenge on Peter and he basically helped to build the Sinister Six by force. He's cunning and knows how to build a team but due to his age and who he is related to, he often gets treated like a kid.

Doc Ock and Green Goblin alternate between leading the Sinister Six. It basically depends on the day.

FRANTICALLY SIFTS THROUGH MY DOCUMENTS yes i do ::3 i should note just for context sake or whatever that i write norman as having DID !! so goblin is an alter who has been there since norman was very young, not just an experiment-caused dude. alright

Norman is generally a bit of a snob (he worked hard for wealth so he doesnt want to waste it) but otto is one of the few people he doesnt feel the need to be fancy around. at first he still does, showing up to basically every date in a suit, but over time he gets more comfortable and is ok being seen in a more casual light

the actuators LOVE norman, just as much as otto does. it took each of them a bit to warm up to him, (flo the longest, moe the shortest) but now they all agree that norman is a good influence

goblin will sometimes pretend to be norman to be treated the way he is without having to ask. otto is always able to tell the difference but he plays along

goblin LOVES sugar, but norman is trying to be a Healthy 55 year old man thank you very much, so they can bicker about it. otto Will occasionally give goblin treats, but theyre just regular sized (as opposed to the piles of sugar he wants to eat) so he can keep both norman and goblin happy

otto can be self conscious about his body (both the natural parts and the actuators) but norman reassures him frequently, even when hes not asked to. similarly, norman often thinks all the scars he has from goblin doing goblin things make him look ugly, but otto is always there for him

they met in college! they were both pining super hard but never ended up getting together, and once they left norman ghosted otto for years because he was scared of hurting him

norman thought and said he was bi for years because he found it a kind of "softer blow" compared to simply being gay, even though he never had any romantic interest in women. otto helped him realize this (and he Is bi btw) apologies for the long post and this isnt nearly all of them but i am laying my headcanons gently onto the ground for all fellow octogoblin enjoyers to browse
