Support Class, Scout and Engineer with a Trans FTM SO

[Warnings: Like, none? Actually, I mention dysphoria a few times but it's largely very male/masc reaffirming.]

Medic
I mean, are you considering bottom surgery?? Top surgery?? Whatever you want this man can provide it easily along with testosterone. Really, whatever you want he can probably do.
He's pretty affirming in his language after he,,,, gets what's going on? Like, it takes him a second but he's pretty gender fluid with presentation but he gets it and wants to love and support you. May or may not want to work out with you just because he finds muscles hot on both himself and his boyfriend.
Sometimes it's almost comical with how he reaffirms you. Lots of "my handsome, handsome man" or other stereotypical masc phrases just to make you smile. If you're looking for a name, he'll suggest some and help you choose one that makes you the happiest.
Sniper
Might need to explain it to him but he wants to love and support you too. Depending on if Ludwig is helping or not, he reminds you to not push too far even though he knows it hurts you to not feel like you're in the right place.
Yeah, that includes not wearing your binder for longer than what's safe. Helps you get on testosterone. Wants to reaffirm who you are and just,,, calls you his boyfriend. This is the only time this would ever happen as he thinks he's too old for titles like that. Also, I think the way he interacts with men is different than women, it's not a bad different but you DO feel the difference.
Does a lot of stereotypically masculine things with you because he thinks that might help lol. Don't blame him he's trying his best. He also likes to absolutely destroy anyone who could deadname you, or misgender you, because he knows you deserve respect.
Spy
One of the first things he wants to do with you is go get a brand new suit! He actually LOVES to call you his boyfriend. He's quite romantic so of course that plays into this part of you. But the suit? oh yeah the suit. He wants to tell you all about men's fashion and looking classy, and then comes in the more "manly" aspects of espionage which he will indulge with you.
He's also a lot like Mundy in ensuring that you're not pushing your body too far. He finds other ways for you to feel affirmed when the binder needs to come off or your cycle comes in.
He probably asks Ludwig about the other things if you really want that. He's going by your words and comfort, that's what matters the most. Probably sways you to the classy gentleman type because he thinks that's cute and likes to see you dress like that. Thinks you look hot.
Scout
Yeah he doesn't get gender identity at all. I will admit I think his ideas of gender are way more binary than they are a spectrum but you could easily get him to understand it's a spectrum. So, when you say you're a man he believes you! But also starts to push you HEAVILY towards stereotypically masc things. Because isn't that what men are?? cars and guns and baseball and oo rah-
Depending on who you are, this could work really well or not,,, vibe with you that much? Men are allowed to be soft, y'know? He doesn't get that. Anyways, tell Jeremy to slow down and he'll listen to you. It's not that hard with him.
I feel a lot of this is his dad stepping in to help just because Jeremy's type of affirmation isn't the most grown up response but it IS good. He pretty much makes your clothes his, and calls you his boyfriend with pride. He's trying.
Engineer
He doesn't really question it at all, just smiles and says he's got a very handsome boyfriend. The most supportive guy here even if he's not sure how to handle it because he's just,,, never read up on it! But he learns fast and has an open mind throughout it all.
He wants to affirm you every step of the way, but generally treats you the same? Like, he loves you regardless of who you are, and you being a man makes that no different. He's super empathetic when you're goin' through it and tries to lift your spirits by also bringing in more masc things.
But generally, Dell functions the same. He just wants to make sure no one says anything awful about you. He wouldn't stand for that, isn't afraid to check someone.

Harper's BAZAAR: The ideal guy BamBam – we heard that you love to do the chores very much
BB: Truthfully, I quite like things to be neat and clean krub. Whether they are my house, utensils, or things that I use in my daily life, I want them to be as clean as possible. I do house chores everyday, no exception at all krub. Even when I finished my schedule late at night, when I got back home, I would always do the house chores before I go to bath. I think it’s become my habit now.
HB: Why did you decide to adopt cats with health problems that were given to you, rather than buying new cats?
BB: Actually, it is not that critical to be called as health problem krub. One of my kid, his name is Latte – when he was young his skin condition was not as good as the others so his former owner was unable to handle it and ask me to raise him instead. As to the other kids, each of them also has their own story, not only the heath issue. As to the reason why I choose cats, actually, at my house in Thailand, my mom loves to raise dogs. However, I’m not a dog person. Dogs are hyperactive and need a lot of care. We need to take them for walks, and when we returned home, they would be happy and has a lot of energy which is higher than what I can take krub (LOL). I think that I do not like things with a lot of energy, so when I first met with a cat, I feel like it was destiny. At first, I did not adopt it immediately, I just take care of it for temporary. However, after a while, I really like and attach to it, so I decided to adopt him krub.
HB: What music genre is your style?
BB: Mostly I listen to the songs with beats krub. However, I do not like the song that is too fast. I like the song which has bpm (beats per minutes) around 180 which are the song that I can listen to it while chilling out or I may grooving on it krub.
HB: Which one is your most favorite tattoo? Does it has a specific meaning and what did you think of at that moment of tattooing it?
BB: Actually, I like them all krub. None of them gives me the feeling like – I should not have you. My most favorite should be this one (BB showing us his nape). These are the birthdays of my mom and my dad next to each other. I wish that they will always stay next to each other. I got these tattoos at home instead of at the shop. It was almost a year and a half when I was on hiatus. I had a meeting with the tattoo artist at my house, I did not plan to have a tattoo – just meeting for chilling dinner and playing some games. We talked about tattoo and he just mentioned that he had the tattoo equipment with him and if I’d like, he can apply tattoo to me. I happened to have the tattoo I want at that time, so the tattooing then happened at my house krub.
HB: Fans who haa a chance to watch “Bam House” in youtube channel noticed that you are interested in making the crafted beer and offering it to the guest at Bam House. What is the charm of crafted beer that makes you like it, and what type of beers is your style?
BB: Apart from beers, I do not like other drinks krub - be it wine, champagne, soju. I chose beer because it is not too strong and chilling. I am not a heavy drinker nor drink for drunk. I drink to have some relaxation before the end of the day. Like when you came home from work, when you opened the beer can, it gave you some relaxation. Still, I do not drink everyday for fearing that I will have a big belly krub.
The most charming point of beer in my view would be its gas – does people call it gas krub? You know, when you drink it, it will give you a refreshing feeling (doing the fizzing sound). Do you get it? (LOL). The first time I drink beer was when I turned 21. I was practicing a dance, it was a very tiring day – and then my dance teacher suggested to me that when I get back home, I should take a bath and then have a cold beer, so I tried it. After a bath, I took my most favorite and comfortable pajamas, I blew my hair for around 50% - I give you so much details (LOL) – and after that I was sitting with a chilling music and turn-off the light, then opened the beer can (doing the can opening sound) – it’s like I got an energy from the opening of the beer can, and when I drank it – I felt its fizziness down to my toes (LOL). It is a feeling that I never had before, even though I had lived for 21 years, so I like to drink beer ever since krub.
HB: When you are tired or discouraged, what gives your good motivation/encouragement?
BB: In the past, there were many things krub. At present, if I answer that it is my family, it will be just like in other interviews so let’s say that lately my encouragement comes from my current happiness krub. I have debuted for 9 years already, there were many dreams that have been come true, and some that I am still on my way to reach them. Other than that I think it is despite a case where though you are tired from our work, but then realized that we are in the life we used to dream of krub. My most important motivation is that I should try to cherish the thing I have, and it gives me a feeling like – to be able to stand at the place where I am now, I am explosively happy so I should not feel discouraged from a petty thing. If I stop doing my current work, I will have to go back and live the way I used to be. The feeling and idea that I should be happy with the things I currently have really lessen my stress and make me feel appreciated and thankful with the smallest things I have in my daily life krub.
HB: Does being a Thai in Korea give you any implication to a journey to your dream?
BB: Not at all krub. In the past, it might be, but for now, I think I get used to it. I lived in Thailand for 12 years, and then stayed in Korea for another 12 years – half to half actually so I get used to it. Moreover, now, many Thais become idols in Korea [I will give you the list below krub (LOL)] so I think Korean people are accepted Thai people more krub. There might be some cases where at first they do not get used to Thai people, but it has changed now. Also, Korean people like to visit Thailand for their vacations so it is like they are more accessing to /adapting to Thai customs, so it does not give any implication to me now krub.
HB: Will there be a chance for us to see BamBam in any new role like an actor?
BB: Oh! That will be hard krub (LOL). Actually, right now, after I started my solo career for 2 years, whether it is advertisement, music or other things, I want to show my music style to everyone first before I start other career path. Therefore, it will not happen soon krub (smile).
HB: Will you participate in activities or works in Thailand more?
BB: I think I visited Thailand a lot last year – every month, I think. For this year, I had already told some of my fans that I think many fans think that I visited Thailand too many that it might bores some people, so I think that after May this year, I will not return to Thailand until next year krub.
HB: We believe that Thai kids or kids elsewhere which have dream also looking at you as one of their idols, do you have anything to tell them?
BB: I think I may not be at the point where I can be deemed as their dream idol krub, but if I can give a suggestion, I would say if you have a dream to be this or that, you should try to imagine yourself in such position, and then imprinted it within your mind - and then one day your imagination will come true – just like doing some tricks to make things come true. For example, if you wish to stay in your dream home, try to imagine about it – it might take 5 years, or 10 years, but one day your imagination may come true – So I would like everyone that have a dream to try imagine about that moment and always keep it in your mind for your whole life krub.

Wilbur hates being awake before one in the afternoon on a weekend. Ideally, he’d choose to also wake at this time during the week too but for some reason society deems that lazy and unproductive. Today is a Sunday. A day which is resoundingly agreed to be known as the weekend but somehow Wilbur still finds himself wide awake before the clock even hits eight A.M.
It started with him going to get water and finding Techno in the bathroom. It’s just spiraled from there. Wilbur isn’t entirely certain he knows what’s going on, but he can hazard a guess and it doesn’t seem great. From what he can gather, he should leave Techno alone. Phil tells him as much before he’s racing out of the door and telling him to look after Tommy. Which is the reason why he is currently wide awake. Because for some reason, Tommy, who’d been woken up by Phil leaving, is hellbent on talking to Techno.
“Is he sick or something?” the kid pouts, small arms crossed in irritation.
“Yeah, something like that, just leave him alone,” he responds. Wilbur’s been forced to drag Tommy to his room, just to keep the kid from causing trouble. But Tommy doesn’t appear to have enjoyed Wilbur throwing him over his shoulder. Nor did he seem to enjoy getting tossed onto Wilbur’s messy bed and wrapped in a grip tight enough to keep him from escaping. Tommy wriggles in Wilbur’s grasp, scowling harder at his older brother.
“Then we should help him” Tommy argues loudly and Wilbur winces.
“Dad said to leave him be.”
“But Dad always helps us when we’re sick-”
Wilbur sighs, already exhausted from the day even though he hasn’t been awake for more than fifteen minutes yet.
“Look Tommy, just leave him be, he’s fine. You know Techno likes his space.”
Tommy huffs in suspicion, but finally relaxes enough that Wilbur deems it safe enough to let the kid free.
“How about I let you watch one of those episodes of that show dad doesn’t want you watching-”
Tommy’s eyes brighten gleefully. A smirk curls on Wilbur’s face, Phil’s going to be so pissed. Well, that’s what his dad gets for waking him up and forcing him to deal with Tommy on two hours of sleep. And for not letting Quackity come over when he’d asked.
One bloody, violent, existential episode of tv later Tommy’s small hands are clutching tightly to his shirt, and Wilbur finally hears the front door opening. Their house is silent enough that the sound of multiple shuffling footsteps echoes up the stairs. Wilbur wonders who else Phil picked up besides Puffy. He doubts its Quackity. Still, he’s curious.
While Phil and Puffy have a muffled conversation behind the closed door of Phil’s office and Techno is still showering, Wilbur and Tommy slink down the stairs. Apparently, Tommy’s forgotten all about what he’d just seen and enthusiastically joins Wilbur’s investigation. Searching the kitchen and living room provides no one and the two brothers creep down the hallway towards the den. Excited giggles are quickly strangled but neither Wilbur nor Tommy can fight the conspiratorial grins that spread across their faces.
The den appears undisturbed when they reach it. The wide windows on the far wall let in the golden light and it splashes on the menagerie of comfortable furniture Phil’s collected. Nothing seems out of place, the blankets are still piled haphazardly about, the books still left open on the side tables. So, Wilbur nearly decides to investigate somewhere else. But then he spies something peeking out from the top of the couch that’s facing away from them. Carefully, Wilbur sneaks forward. Rounding the couch, feet near silent on the rug, his mind stutters to a stop. What he sees is…. unexpected. Behind him, Tommy peers at the couch, face scrunching up with confusion.
“What’re you doing on our couch?” Tommy demands, shattering the peaceful atmosphere. It also startles awake the two sheep hybrids who had been sleeping on the couch. The smaller one rolls onto the floor with a yelp. Then the taller one leaps upward into a wide stance, scanning the room wildly, a ferocious expression on his face.
“Huh- wha’s goin’ on?” a the smaller one asks in a sleepy voice. The kid, Wilbur’s certain he’s a kid since he is about Tommy’s size, pushes off the floor and rubs at his eyes.
“What are you doing on our couch?” Tommy repeats, glaring at the strangers, faced drawn into what he believes is an intimidating expression.
The taller one narrows his eyes at them, standing protectively in front of the kid. There’s an obvious tenseness about him, one that Wilbur’s seen on Techno many times before. Realizing this, Wilbur quickly changes his stance to appear as non-threatening as possible.
“It’s fine that you’re here,” he assures while staring at the taller hybrid, “we just didn’t know there were other people here.”
The taller one scowls and crosses his arms. “Our cousin dragged us here,” he spits out.
“Oh, Puffy’s your cousin?” Wilbur asks, surprised. He didn’t even know she had any family, let alone ones near his age. But it’s understandable, Wilbur now clearly detects the relation between their faces. The taller one looks maybe a little older than Techno with fluffy blonde hair and curled horns like Puffy though they are significantly smaller. In contrast the younger one has tiny little horns that barely poke out of the dark brown hair that sits in a wild mess on his head. Wilbur doesn’t find that adorable, he doesn’t!
“Yeah, she’s helping that blonde guy who visited.” The younger one answers through a yawn, climbing back onto the couch and flopping down.
Yawning, Wilbur nods tiredly. Fuck, he needs to sleep but he ignores the way his eyes ache and finally introduces himself.
“I’m Wilbur and-”
“I’m Tommy, the biggest man here-” his brother proudly interrupts.
“-And the man was our dad, Phil.”
“I’m Tubbo and he’s Dream” the younger cousin mumbles, half awake. The older cousin, Dream, Wilbur supposes, flashes Tubbo a look of annoyance.
“It’s nice to meet you, I wasn’t aware Puffy had any other family.” Wilbur says, slumping down into one of the plush armchairs near the fireplace. From this vantage he can face Puffy’s cousins on the couch while keeping an eye out for his dad.
“She doesn’t.” Dream states forcefully, relaxing enough to sit back down next to Tubbo.
“Are you two brothers?” Tommy asks excitedly, jumping onto the couch on Tubbo’s free side and making the kid jolt wide awake. Maybe Wilbur should do more to wrangle Tommy in but he’s finding it difficult to have empathy this early in the morning.
“Yeah…” And then Tubbo quickly devolves into a long explanation about the intricacies of his sibling relationship which Wilbur rapidly loses track of.
Somehow Tommy, the annoyance and pain in his ass (who Wilbur loves dearly), has charmed Tubbo enough that in ten minutes the two are best friends. Dream still sits there with his arms crossed, looking uncomfortable next to the excitement of his brother and Tommy. But Wilbur supposes it’s more out of social anxiety than feeling threatened. He lets Dream be, understanding his hesitation. Instead, Wilbur chooses to listen to Tubbo and Tommy chatter on while messaging Quackity a picture of him flipping off the camera. Of course, the other takes the bait and Wilbur is suddenly getting a request to video chat. One five-second, internal freak out later, Wilbur answers with a smirk that only grows when he hears enraged shouting quietly blaring from his speaker. After a minute of pure ranting, Quackity pauses and studies the camera,
“What’re you doing out of your bedroom this early?”
A blush dusts Wilbur’s cheeks, “I had to babysit Tommy and now his new best friend Tubbo.” He turns the camera to face the couch, snickering at the children chasing each other around it.
“Wait is that…. is that Dream?”
“You know Dream?” Wilbur asks in a hushed whisper, turning his camera back to himself. Quackity laughs at the confused expression Wilbur’s wearing.
“Oh…. Yeah, not well but he started tagging along with my old friends once I moved. I didn’t know he had a brother though.” Theres a pixelated shrug on Wil’s screen and he snorts out a laugh.
“Do you want to talk with him?”
Quackity shrugs again. “Sure, if you’re offering-”
“Ok, hold on.”
Unfolding himself from where he’d pretzeled himself in the armchair, Wilbur paces over to the couch, slumping down beside Dream who startles nearly as much as his brother earlier. Without warning Wilbur shoves his phone in front of Dream and turns up his volume.
“Hey Dream!” Quackity greets, waving energetically.
“…Hey Quackity,” A confused glare has settled on Dream’s face as he glances between Wilbur and his phone.
“How are Sapnap and George doing?”
“…. fine, I think,” Dream says carefully, “but I haven’t seen them in a few months.”
“Oh… that’s good, I guess. I haven’t seen them in a while either. The last time I did, they convinced me to play last life-”
“They let you play it?” Dream scoffs, frown seeping deeper onto his face, “they wouldn’t even explain it to me.”
“That’s probably because I ended up accidentally breaking Sapnap’s nose.” Quackity replies with a slight grin and Wilbur doesn’t know if he’s bragging about it or feeling guilty.
Dream rolls his eyes, “Of course, you were the one who ruined it-”
“What’s last life?” Wilbur interrupts before this devolves into an all-out fight, looking between a scowling Dream and a gleeful Quackity.
“It’s this game that’s like a blend between last man standing-” Dream begins to perk up, intrigued, as Quackity divulges the coveted information, “-the floor is lava, and capture the flag. There’s like all these rules we came up with but mainly it was an excuse to try and punch each other. I don’t think George really liked it.”
Dream snorts, “that’s ‘cause he didn’t like playing with you. He would definitely like it if I got to play.”
Quackity cackles loudly, “When I come over, I can show you how to play, Wil-” “No,” Dream interjects, voice hard, eyes blazing with the intensity of a troop commander before an upcoming battle, “we’re playing it right now.”

ok fuck it here’s a basic intro post about the main character from my (extremely queer) space pirate sci fi novel
This fucker right here? Yeah his name’s Raymond, and he’s a gay autistic trans man (pre transition/pre everything even though this takes place WAY in the future in space civilization, but I’m about to elaborate on that), and is dating a literal alien. Oh here’s the problem with the alien thing though: aliens haven’t been proven to exist yet in his universe, but his crew are the one’s who discovered said alien and now they have to keep xe’s existence a secret. But enough about that, we’re talking about this guy right here.
His father was a famous outlaw (space pirate) captain and he would routinely sneak aboard his father’s ship as a kid to experience the life of an outlaw because he thought his dad’s job was ‘super fucking rad’, and most of the time his dad would humor him, but only take him on low danger missions. His mom was also an outlaw and on his dad’s ship, and a lot of the time he was on the ship with his parents, but when they went on dangerous missions, they entrusted their closest friends, a group of android anarchists (theres gonna be a little story im writing to explain this later bc god their story is great), to look after Raymond. Not gonna say what happens to his dad eventually (spoiler: it’s bad and that’s what spurs Raymond into his career path) but I will say that his mom doesn’t die, so yay.
Anyway, he’s pre everything even though the technology for transitioning at that point, if you choose to still be in your own human body (bc you can get an android one in this future or go fully digital in cyberspace), is super advanced and it’s easy to do, because the system has priced trans people out of it completely and there’s no options he could even begin to afford. Even with his family’s ‘pedigree’ or ‘infamy’, he can’t manage to get good enough gigs to pay for transition stuff in addition to his basic needs like housing and food. Because each planet is different and each city on each one is different and yadda yadda you get the picture, difference in cost of living and everything like that.
But yeah, more about him. He’s a quiet wallflower of a man, preferring to blend in mostly because he already stands out just because of his last name and the reputation associated with it. He’s not ashamed of his parents’ legacy at all, he’s actually quite proud of it. At least, that’s how he is in public. In private, like with friends and at parties, he immediately shifts into an extroverted state, as long as he’s around people he’s familiar with. He can also have quite the mouth on him and have zero filter which is why his crew always tries to prevent him from drinking too much. He’s also obsessed with learning about how Earth used to be before it died (in this story Earth has been long uninhabitable and that’s how the colonization happened), which eventually leads to his expedition there where he finds his eventual alien partner.

I feel like we've come to a point where I'm close to giving up.
One of our close friends promised to come see us soon, but made excuses as to why she couldn't every single time. Another close friend no longer talks to us unless he wants to talk about his drama, he was the one who wanted to meet up but was all full of lies.
Our mum said she'd go into town with us Wednesday, never happened, but agreed the next day we could. We're now the next day, and it has been completely forgotten. "But aren't you in pain? You should wait until you recover?" , Not understanding that we've been like this for months now. It's not getting better, it's getting worse. Claims i should walk more, but the time I'd actually walk willingly, suddenly doesn't apply?
I'm fucking upset because I'm having to go on a summer uni experience, a 4 day thing. I don't want to go. I don't know anyone, and I don't want to have to do a 5 minute presentation infront of at least 50 people. People need to stop trying to invalidate me for feeling uncomfortable in that situation just because 'well you can perform on a stage infront of thousands of people' , it's not the same.
And I'm potentially being forced to go swimming tonight. Self explanatory. I only know that bot only will that be a bodydisphoria nightmare but i know full damn well I'm going to come out of that with even more body dismorphia issues after everyone has put in their opinion about my body. I can be fully dressed in the baggiest clothes ever and get inappropriate comments surrounding my weight.
I'm in constant agony, all my joints hurt like shit. I'm in pain and i dread having to get up in the morning, it feels like my joints are all about to slide. Yet, the blame is put on me, it's always 'you're not eating enough' 'you obviously have a deficiency ' or 'it is the phone' like lol yeah the phone explains the pain in my ankles. For once, can't someone just listen and let me go to the doctors. 'Taking paracetamols isn't good for you on a daily basis' , what do you want me to do? I'm on the maximum dose and i can feel all my joints burning and feeling like they have needles stuck in them.
My dad said to me the other night 'dont you think your mum has been through enough?' refering to my outing and also to the fact i said i couldn't care less if someone thought i was a boy, he jumped to the conclusion we were trans. It's an accumulation of things, I don't feel wanted by anyone in my life. And i feel betrayed, i feel fucking betrayed by everyone who told that small child that they loved them, when in reality it was only if they were exactly who they wanted them to be. Or told them they loved them whilst behind their back, were backstabbing them.

Do you have any thoughts/recommended texts for Cas analysis? I genuinely love the dean gender studies and I just wanna know what people might apply to Cas.
yes absolutely!! while dean studies is my first love i also deeply love cas analysis (casnalysis?) and wanna strive to do more of it. here’s some stuff off the top of my head:
1. gender, sexuality, heavenly embodiment
this is much more theological and less psychological than dean’s whole Deal because there’s so much fascinating stuff around how the angels in general experience express and conceptualise gender (@autisticandroids has a good post about angel gender & lily sunder has some regrets) but for cas in particular there’s this fascinating kind of collective fandom agreement (which i DO also agree with) that cas’ own gender kind of is gay man, that he actively chose gay manhood, but also that he’s kind of..... lacking the Insane Genderishness that dean exhibits at all times, even though he actively chose to engage in male gendering and became so comfortable housed Within Jimmy that he, as some post i saw the other day that i can’t find anymore said, “became his own body” when jimmy died.
like on the one hand there’s an almost-canonical transness to the whole process but it also never feels fully written-into because 1) the supernatural writers for all their insanity are sometimes very boring and *most* of the time only feel interested in narratively expressing angels As Their Vessels anyways and just like leaving convenient spaces around these questions (boldest thing they ever did was hot girl cas which i WISH i had the range to unpack) 2) there’s a vague inevitabilist shrug to the whole thing since they obviously weren’t gonna recast misha collins (though they HAVE tried to get rid of him) and 3) something amorphous about cas’ entire..... personhood? makes him Empty Of Gender as a contrast to dean’s Full Of Gender (i believe it was @deanwinchestergender who said this) and like is it just the juxtaposition to dean/jensen’s whole insane Deal? or something else?
like he actively chooses the terms of his own embodiment and yet narratively it feels like a shrug. and we’re all like “well obviously even though he’s a celestial being he was always a gay man” and like WHY. i love it idk idk much to think about! and yeah just in general the theological questions of possession and cas genuinely Becoming a man as he iterates himself consciously towards humanity it almost feels like. by doing the most boring things possible with his gender they made it interesting? idk if that makes sense.
2. discipline, free will, metanarratives
cas is like a tool (“i am not a hammer, as you say”) held in constant discipline and surveillance by the system that enmeshes him and it’s really, really fascinating to watch the way the angels hold each other to conformity. especially pre-god they kind of produce each other as foucauldian disciplinary subjects (which i posted about here) in perpetual visibility through angel radio, generating their own and each other’s conformity rather than being directly ruled through like a single centralised source of power. only the spectre of a god. and obviously cas’ whole thing is that he has ALWAYS disobeyed and the narrative affords him this psychological interiority never given to the foucauldian subject, an internal will and desire for freedom in a way that fits more with the liberal subject (super roughly and not with the same pro-capitalist implications but he has this internal drive for self-liberation.
and that’s also where the metanarrative comes in ofc! i think it was @dykecas who said that cas is a real person written by people who hate him, and there’s this crack in the narrative (mirroring the crack in his chassis) where cas gets in, over and over, despite all the order imposed by the show’s authorfathergod. like we’ve all seen the analysis about how it was Never supposed to be this way they DID try to fire misha collins in 2012 and yet this gay man literally cannot be stopped! i think actually his appearance in scoobynatural is a neat little distillation of this — he drops into this animated world originally with a singular purpose (Save Sam And Dean) the same way he dropped into lazarus rising with a single 3-episode arc (Save Dean). huge hammer behaviour. his “utility” diminishes within the narrative (he finds that he can’t fly in the scooby doo universe) and so he is no longer a tool/means to an end that salvation moves Through. and in the process (and huge creds to @lesbianyuugi for this) he does something ENTIRELY unrelated to his original cas-as-tool aim, and learns, like, the meaning of laughter from shaggy and scooby. WHICH brings me onto the third point
3. love, queer kinship, family-making
HE’S GAY AND HE’S A DAD! i feel like a lot of tumblr throws around the term “found family” in a very flat and tropey way (which is fine it’s cute and fun no matter what!) but like . GOD there’s so much specific stuff going on here. like the way that cas (unintentionally) obliterates the midwestern white christian nuclear family (made incarnate in the novaks) which like could be uniformly portrayed as an act of deep malice and villainy but instead grows to serve as a surrogate (if imperfect/complex, but DEEPLY loving) father figure for the gay daughter who has now escaped that nuclear family/seen it destroyed depending on how you read it? like he remasters the entire concept of fatherhood and it’s a very interesting (if DEEPLY) unintentional subversion of the homewrecking non-nuclear gay trope. cas is so good because his character arc doesn’t say “look, gay people can be normal and have perfect settled families just like you” it says “gay people DON’T have normal settled families actually and they are full of love anyways! or Because of the abnormalcy itself!)
to cite ziz lesbianyuugi again he DOES queer fatherhood in his parenting of jack particularly because it really is one of the ONLY parent-child relationships in the show that breaks the incessant cycle of abuse and control and cold indifference perpetuated by the authorfathergod (a cycle reified in 15x20 lol). like god’s treatment of cas and his siblings mirrors john’s treatment of sam and dean (particularly dean) mirrors victor’s treatment of krissy and her crew mirrors dean’s later treatment of jack. there is a CONSTANT reiteration of the story of authorfathergod (often a father tightly entwined in biological kinship) treating a child as a mechanism or a tool or a means to an end. and cas looks at ALL that he has suffered and all that he is ever known and chooses constantly to reject it with every piece of love he expresses for his child. and not to sound like the kind of academic people make fun of on twitter but there is an INHERENT queerness to that. gay love will pierce through [the veil of death/the thick silence of abuse/the mechanism of godly control/hegemonic american masculinity] and save the day

i haven’t officially posted my own treasure planet headcanons, so that's what this is! some of this might be ooc but i don't really care because they are fun to think about, so yeah, enjoy!
this is gonna be long so i’m gonna put it under a keep reading
it makes me so sad that they supposedly don’t keep in touch at the end of the movie, so that's where headcanons come in. Jim and Silver went thru WAY too much to not keep in touch, Silver couldn’t leave Morph without being able to see him again either (Silver literally refers to himself as Morphs ‘dad’ in one scene!!) they at least send letters or have some sort of burner phone, with Silver being a wanted criminal and all. for a while they probably just sent letters, Jim talking about the academy and Silver sending little gifts from his escapades such as a lava rock or an especially interesting coin. Jim keeps all the gifts in a box, along with the letters but if he feels especially attached to a gift, he’ll set it on his window sill of on the rim of his mirror. as much as I like the idea of Jim getting Silver a jitterbug/ladybug, realistically Silver would be the one to set the idea into motion. Jim gets a larger gift and its a little phone, made of parts that Silver could scrap together (or on he found in a shop on a traders planet), he immediately sets it up and texts Silver. it was really nice for them to talk in real time and were probably already discussing the idea, even though Silver could get caught, so Jim was really excited about it. Jim now keeps Silver updated on life events and Silver calls every now and then to tell Jim about his travels. Silver hasn’t quite figured out how to send photos but once he does, he starts sending some everyday (including some hilarious selfies, akin to what a dad would post on Facebook).
Silver absolutely visits, for a while it was very, very scarce because he was still wanted but was sneaky enough to come and see Jim every few months. he comes and hangs out at the inn for a few days while his crew is out at bars or stocking up on items for their next adventure, as well as they know better than to fight their captain on his decisions. during these visits, Silver tells Jim (and anyone brave enough to sit near them) stories about what he had seen, creatures he had encountered and wonders they had discovered. Jim tells Silver about his time at the academy, new friends he’s made and what he’s learning, including some complicated stuff. sometimes Jim even get so into it, he brings out a textbook to express his point. while Silver is pretty smart, he has no idea what Jim is talking about (because its usually math and obscure facts) and usually just smiles and nods as Jim rambles. (lol this may be me projecting my ADHD onto Jim but i have the feeling he info dumps to people hes comfortable with)
speaking of the academy, i think despite all the combat training and captaining that Jim is learning, i think Jim would be really interested in math. like a surprising amount. it would probably be difficult to start off but once he did, hoo boy he could not stop. there were some hurdles he had to face but eventually he landed in a pretty advanced math course (not the highest but still pretty up there, maybe like calculus or applied mathematics). knowing some math was important as a captain, having to deal with probability on a ship in the Etherium, but Jim was fascinated by numbers and the way they made up the world. i think he would be really interested in physics or theoretical stuff, which is difficult but i think he could do it. he probably uses his previous experiences in space to help him visualize the math, which helps a lot.
the first time Silver came to the inn, Jim practically tackled him. which was no big deal since he’s almost double Jim’s size, Silver was more worried about Sarah and what she thought of him being a pirate and all. Jim assured him that everything was ok and he asked her but Silver still felt a bit nervous. he felt like he was intruding on her territory. but while Jim had run upstairs for something and Silver stood sheepishly in the doorway, Sarah came over with a smile on her face and shook his hand. he wasn’t expecting that at all, he was more ready for a glare from the kitchen or even a talk about ground rules. Sarah talked to him about how excited Jim was (she was also kind of excited, she had met plenty of pirates and was almost as fascinated as Jim was) and how she was grateful for Silver staying in her sons life. Silver felt much more comfortable after that and they started talking too, (not sure if it would be romantic or not, it would be cute but i love them just being friends as well) they became pretty good friends. Jim loved it, even if they weren’t married or Silver wasn’t biologically related to him, he felt like he had a full family again. when Jim was busy or sleeping, Sarah and Silver would chat over coffee or in the kitchen while Sarah cooked, Silver helping. Sarah would probably rope Silver into helping her at the inn once she learns he can cook and he kind of falls into a routine. come see Jim, hang out, when Jim is busy/out, go put on an apron.
(this one is 100% projecting lol) this is a pretty loose hc, especially since it started as a joke but now i really like it. i think Jim, as well as Silver, is transgender. Jim wasn’t really expecting Silver to be trans, as are most (he passes super well lmao). i mean, many pirates were gay, why can’t space faring ones be trans? hell, Silvers crew probably has a slew of queer folk among them, if not all of them being some sort of LGBT. body modification looks like a regular thing in their world, so i think Silver has already had top surgery, whether he was planning to or not. by that i mean that i think Silver could have been injured, woke up and found that something was missing. worried he may have become more cyborg, he checked, winced and found that bandages had been bound around his chest. ‘well that's out of the way’. despite not wanting to be vulnerable around his crew, most of them if not all of them know he’s trans since most of them didn’t see it as some sort of weakness, it was just who you were. (if ya’ll are interested, i have some crew hcs like gender and sexuality but this post is mainly about Jim, Silver and Sarah)
(continuation of the trans hc) when Jim came out to Silver, there’s a moment of silence between them. in Jim’s head it was awkward, but in Silver’s, things started clicking. Jim was worried Silver didn’t understand and quickly explain but Silver comforted him, and explained that he understood. Jim was the confused one now and Silver quickly cleared that up, explaining that he too was trans. Jim was relieved, confused and surprised. he hadn’t expected that outcome but that wasn’t bad, if anything he thought it was cool. he had more in common with his adoptee-dad than he had thought. Silver now makes sure to emphasis his compliments when Jim is working, hoping to boost Jim’s ego and make him feel better. it works and Jim feels even more comfortable in his own skin. (i have another part about Silver taking Jim to get top surgery but they would need Sarah’s permission first, not that she’d say no but Silver doesn’t want to encounter her wrath xD)
i’d like to think that Silver takes Jim up on his ship, not for plundering but just to sail around. the new crew had already seen Silver in action and decided nobody wanted to question him about Jim, especially since he was causing any trouble. eventually Jim couldn’t really visit Silvers ship anymore, being a Navy officer and all but that was ok, Silver still came to the inn and Jim had his own ship/s.
Silver knows all the drama around town, mostly because Sarah hears it fro customers and then gossips to Silver about it. Silver will come in, say hello and she’ll start, he’ll probably respond with something like ‘no way, they did that?’ and then he’d listen as she worked.
when talking to Jim, Silver refers to Sarah as ‘ma’ and Sarah starts referring to Silver as ‘dad’ since they have become Jim’s collective parents, and it doesn’t bother either of them.
after Jim lets Silver get away at the end of the movie, Silver stays on his own for a while, though no one knew that. he got a larger boat, just big enough for him and he wandered planets, drifted through space, just thinking. he wasn’t sure what to do next, he was a wanted man but he also had no crew. the thought of settling down passed in his mind but he couldn’t bring himself to do it, he was comfortable in the Etherium, he would get cabin fever after a week. so he continued being a pirate, it was rough work but he loved being among the stars, exploring the galaxy. Jim knew this and didn’t want to push Silver to stay at the inn for a long amount of time but they still made it work.
Silver has little experience with children, having none of his own until Jim (i’ve seen people give Silver children as his backstory but he doesn’t strike me as that kind of guy, not that he wouldn’t want kids but he’d have to choose between family life or pirates life. that's too much for him.) the most experience Silver had was with helping people at port and with his crew, anyone young enough to need guidance and smart enough to listen.
Silver loves music but really only know sea shanties, drinking songs and some old folk music, but he can still be found singing with his crew and humming while he’s working. Jim on the other hand listens to a lot of music, especially after treasure planet. (this is assuming they have all the music we have xD) he listened to brooding teenage music before, like Teenage Dirtbag or bands likes Greenday, but now he has a few shanties on his list as well, plus some classical music for when he’s studying or relaxing. he also listens to ABBA, either because he just likes them or because his mom plays them in the inn.
Jim, Sarah and Silver have way more pictures of each other now. the inn now has multiple family photos with Silver included, Jim has a framed image of the three of them and Silver has a little scrapbook. it’s the only thing he’s ok with having on his ship, still worried about being seen as ‘soft’ (even if he is a big softie and everyone knows it).
Silver usually wears a pretty simple working outfit with his nice coat and hat but when he does want to look nice, holy shit does he do it well. sometimes when he’s dressed up he wonders why he doesn’t do it more often just for fun but then he thinks of the countless times he’s had to throw out shirts stained with blood. he would never let that happen to his nice clothes.
i really like the idea that if things had been different, Sarah Hawkins would have been a pirate, and a damn good one at that. maybe she wasn’t in this life but that doesn’t stop the occasional daydream and questions to Silver about his lifestyle. he offers to take her on his boat when he takes Jim and she hesitates but says yes in the end. Jim definitely didn’t get his wanderlust spirit from Leland. (this is a little ooc for Silver but not for Sarah, i 100% believe she would be a pirate) maybe after Jim joins the Navy, he buys a small boat, big enough for him and his mom and they go on trips where they just enjoy the Etherium.
you cannot tell me that the second Silver was out of earshot on the long boat that he didn’t cry his eyes out. motherfucker may know how to hide his feelings but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have them, he’s a sucker and he knows it. when he gets more comfortable around Jim and Sarah, he finds himself getting way more tearful from touchy feely stuff. Morph being cute? sobbing. Jim called him dad? waterworks. literally anything that tugs on his heartstrings? has to go to his cabin to cry his eyes out. the first time Jim and Silver met up again, they both just started sobbing.
Silver, Jim too probably, has PTSD (sorry if i get anything wrong, i’m not sure what else to call it) to an extent. it isn’t intense to the point that he gets overwhelmed with emotions and has flashbacks (unless it has to do with his missing limbs) but he does have some nightmares and prepares for the worst in most scenarios. Jim has to remind him that the bang at the door wasn’t pirates, it was just a unruly customer and that the silhouette he saw outside was just a passing ship, not canon fire. Silver apologizes every time, despite not doing anything but switch to his sword and brace but he can’t help but feel bad for worrying them. i can’t imagine the kind of terrors he has about loosing his limbs.
Silver, when he detaches his arm, will forget he only has one hand. sort of like that video with the astronaut back on Earth, but instead of gravity, he keeps handing stuff to his cyborg hand, dropping the item and they being confused when he can’t find whatever he had. he’s just so used to it by now, he’ll even gesture with his missing hand and not realize he can’t convey what he’s doing. Jim has been asked to hand his stuff, Silver will try to grab it without look and ask Jim why he didn’t hand it to him. Jim has to remind him that he doesn’t have his cyborg arm, leaving Silver apologizing. its always lighthearted between them and they joke about it but Jim knows Silver is still bothered by it a little.

HELLO 👋 I WAS SENT HERE BY PALMETT-HOES. What are your thoughts on the foxes + tattoos?? Originally it was Neil + tattoos but if you have thoughts of the other foxes too I'd love to hear them if you want to share 🥺
Okay, so I actually might try to become a tattoo artist and love tattoo culture. I also have already about 30 tattoos, some the size of my whole hand and some the size of a quarter, a lot of mixed and matched stuff. I also always try to think of the foxes in their timeline, so 2006-2007 era, and when I think said foxes would get tattoos in their life and why.
NEIL
First off: I personally HC Neil has keloid scarring and a lot of scarring so tattooing is hard on his skin. I have a friend who has more scars than I've ever seen on anyone else IRL before and we both love tattoos but even with him trying to prep the artist, unless they were a scar micropigmentation expert, they usually underestimated how hard it was going to be to tattoo on his skin. It's uneven and dense and doesn’t hold ink well. His non-scarred skin faired a lot better but his skin was something artists just weren't prepared for. I might get some micropigmentation on some skin grafts I got to even out the coloring and make it look more “natural” but I’m waiting to see if the pigment will settle and heal more first.
I personally don't see Neil ever getting a tattoo, and this bums a lot of people out lmao. I think his scars are too thick and too raised and it's too cosmetic and aesthetic centric for it to be something on his radar. On his skin that isn't touched by scars I think he would want to leave as be mostly out of neutrality. I don't see Neil as the type of sentimental tattooer, I see him thinking “well if it matters to me I remember it” sort of and him wanting to keep the really deep stuff personal just for himself and even another person putting it on him is someone else there. I think if he were ever to get a tattoo, he would be like… idk it would be the kind that says “yes I got shot, stop asking” over a bullet hole scar or like that one guy whos missing his leg and above it there's a tattoo that says “one foot in the grave” that's the only type of tattoo I can see Neil doing and even still I'm not convinced he would do it.
ANDREW
I don't ever see Andrew covering up his scars with tattoos either. I think he likes how the armbands can come on and off and be fully covered to not at all. He's not ashamed of them but he's private, and I think the tattoos could seem like he's trying to hide them when he's not-it's just nobody's business. I think if he were to get anything it would be American-traditional, it ages well, its classic, and doesn't really go out of style. Before the…. Let's say 80s, there weren't the different tattoo “styles” like there are today. It was just… tattoos in America. There was Japanese-style tattooing and then American-style tattooing, and since tattooing started curating its underground culture in the ’50s in America… those circles did not blend. They do now, but they sure as hell didn't then. So I could see Andrew with American-traditional because it's classic and I could see it appealing to him, but I could also see Russian prison tattoo style black-work something that appeals to him too. Get him some gulag tats. However if he had those, and since I currently HC him as white and with a buzzed or grown-out messy buzzed head, he would deadass look like a fuckin skinhead so... yeah lmao. Overall I don't see Andrew getting tattoos really, but if he would, American-traditional seems fitting.
KEVIN
Okay, so Kevin out here looking like a MF SoundCloud rapper with his single face tat and nothing else going on. I know it might be OOC but since his mom is Irish and I HC his dad as Maori (even tho in the canon Wymack likely has 90s new age tribalism, which is a complicated issue but instead I choose culturally significant tattoos over the tattoo trend that was largely popularized by a movie lmao anyways-).
So I think Kevin is the only one who dives into tattoo culture and bonds over it with his dad. If he just has the chess piece, it still feels like a branding, like a mark so distinct against the rest of him, but one full sleeve of Celtic knots and symbols and the other arm full of Maori's distinct tattoos of swirls and symbols could be a cool way for him to reclaim his own skin and have it not be something he did just to cover something up, but make tattooing something connecting him to his cultures and family.
NICKY
Nicky is the guy who got like, fierce, or pride, or something like that tattooed if he got a tattoo. I see Nicky getting a pride tattoo of some kind maybe and it being calligraphy or like if Nicky/Erik is a bear then he gets a bear paw. I could also see him getting his and Erik’s wedding date tattooed somewhere. I also don't see him as the type who didn't know how much research and shit goes into finding the artist for you, and kinda assumes you can go to just anyone and just walk in and then was like “wait what” when he couldn’t (or couldn't if he wanted to get exactly what he had in mind) so he probably got/gets tattooed by some non-homophobic apprentice, maybe even that apprentices first tattoo, and also since Nicky is Mexican and darker-skinned I doubt he thinks to put on sunscreen and the sun makes his ink lines bleed and so it doesn't age the best (it be like that).
ALLISON
Got a trendy tramp stamp to like, really stick it to her parents. Right on her lower back I bet it's the classic 2000s swirls and a butterfly and some of those stars, idk what they're called. If she was a young 20-year-old now tho she totally would have gotten a fine line tattoo, like not a tight three, a real 1 needle tattoo. They were seen as really nice back then and “so Cali” and like I could see /maybe/ her getting it done before she's 30 but they were not that common yet and like micro-realism is so new we still kinda don't know how it's going to age at all since tattoos before it have been designed they way they have for aging. Again if she got a micro-realism/single needle tattoo tho it would be something kinda basic like a butterfly or like a lion. I swear I've seen the same google image lion tattooed on a lotta people and like IDC it's your skin. But yeah, she gets the classic 2000s swirl butterfly and stars tattoo above her crack one night, maybe after a really bad phone call with her parents and she got drunk and pissed off. Maybe someone said she couldn't take the pain. (which btw, tattoos don’t hurt as much as they make them out to be in shows and shit, they can hurt tho)
DAN
I HC Dan as very dark-skinned, she's 75% black and 25% Sioux and grew up in a very very white area when outside her home on the res. Tattoo culture is still really sexist and really colorist, and at this point in history I think if she ever did want a tattoo, she maybe asked vaguely about it and they flat out said “I don't know how to tattoo on black skin” or “it doesn't go with my art” which… are shithole excuses and I think she thought, “well fuck u too” and never thought about it much since then.
RENEE
I HC as Renee as darker-skinned than Dan, and like the only places she could possibly get tattooed are maybe her palms, the bottoms of her feet, or her inner mouth probably. Some people genuinely are so dark that tattooing is hard, because it's based on the concept of black ink on a lighter surface, which is why scarification catches on in cultures where the skin is too dark to pigment with ink effectively. However, the idea of fuckin, 15-year-old Renee who is still Natalie with “PU$$Y” tattooed in her mouth kinda sends me. I think lil kid Renee thought she was gangster, and tbh she was, and I could see her getting some “fuck you/in your face” tattoo, especially if she was a lesbian in such a homophobic world, getting that tattooed is even better. We also know she got her back tatted in the EC with angel wings that look almost closer to dragon wings, so I imagine they show up as almost raised dark lines like scars from the untrained tattoo artist going way too deep, making it a cross between a tattoo and scarification, even if accidental. (also white ink really wasn't a thing yet and even now is still kinda hard to tell how it will heal, so that's why I don't think she gets any white ink tats)
MATT
He's a rich boy from NYC, he could really get like… whatever he wants. Once he's famous he can afford it that's for sure, but even before then he could with his allowance similar to Allison (even if on a completely different level). However, I doubt he gets anything lol. He's not particularly religious in my HC and doesn't have the same sense of being lost like I feel Kevin does with his own parents (I mean Kevin was raised like an orphan, kinda so it makes sense). I need to develop Matt’s background further on what it means to him personally to be a Filipino-American. I have several ideas about how his parents met in the Philippines and then came here but I would need to flesh out locations and then local cultures and then his parents said opinions on tattoos and then how matt would react to said opinions. I could see him possibly getting something for dan or his kids tattooed on. Which really makes me want to have him get his first kid's name tattooed really big or intricate somewhere like on his chest over his heart and then his kid comes out as trans and he's like “...fuck” lmao and gets it removed maybe and then redone or something. I see him viewing tattoos are personal and symbolic, and if he would get something it would probably be family-oriented, possibly Dan's portrait or like his baby's footprint which I've seen before.
AARON & SETH
Stick and pokes were not nearly as common then as they are now, and I feel like people kinda have to remember how taboo tattooing was then and still is now in a lot of cultures. My family is Not happy lmaoo. But it is what it is. Stick and Pokes were not a thing bored white middle-class teens did like I see them doing now. It was seen as super sketchy and I know someone who was 16 getting tattooed in a garage by someone who was both drunk and just out of prison for the first time, and that was seen as sketchy as stick and pokes at the time. I could imagine either Seth or Aaron having a failed and fucked up stick and poke tattoo, and out of the two of them, Seth seems like the drunk tat guy. Maybe once he got drunk and mad as fuck after Allison and him broke up and she said he didn't seem serious enough so he got her name drunkenly tattooed on his arm or something and then she was even more pissed because it was spelled wrong “YOU FORGOT THE SECOND L OMFG SETH.” (I can also imagine his future girlfriends don't love it lmao). I also love the idea of Seth just having Marvin the Martian or the Tasmanian Devil tattooed on his ass.
Anyways sorry for the lack of pictures but I didn't want to do that... so I didn't. I didn't go into niche tattoo culture and history like I was expecting myself to but this also got fuckin long. Might not be what you were hoping for at all but it is my current opinion on the foxes and tattoos. (This is also surprisingly free of my own personal aesthetic opinions on tattoos and that I'm kinda proud of ngl, since my preference is none of these, but also I grew up in a very different tattoo time than them)

Here's my take: the Wano Arc is about the "burden of inherited will." By this I mean something like, the burden of upholding the promises and dreams of those who came before. We've seen inherited will as an unambiguously good thing in the series so far, but the Wano Arc is trying to complicate the narrative, by showing what a burden it can be to take on the dreams of those who came before. And this theme isn't just in one storyline, it's laced throughout the Wano Arc, in the motivations of so many characters: * We have Momo struggling with the burden of living up to his father's legacy as a leader, and the burden of the throne of Wano. He's anguished over this, he weeps, because it's a burden to live up to someone as great as his father. * In Oden's flashback, we seem him struggle with the burden of his own father's dreams (that he become the Shogun, settle down, etc), only for him to eventually return and take on the burden of the country (literally, he puts his followers on his back!). * We have the Scabbards struggling with the burden of achieving Oden's dream of opening Wano's borders. They spend twenty years waiting and suffering, or travel across the sea and suffer, all for the sake of their leader's dream. We see Ashura-doji grow bitter under this burden, we see Denjiro mentally break, we see Kine'mon refuse to have a joyful reunion with his wife, all because they suffer under the burden of an inherited dream. * Orochi felt compelled to uphold the will of his ancestors and depose the Kozukis and throw the country into ruin. There's a reason we see his ancestors basically manipulate him into pursuing his path. They pass on their dream to him. * So obviously we have Luffy also taking on the dream of Oden, to defeat Kaido and Orochi, etc. But it's not a coincidence that in this arc we have two characters to whom Ace made promises: Tama and Yamato. They've become part of Luffy's burden, because he inherited Ace's will. (That's one way Yamato fits in) * But we also have Yamato struggling under the burden of a will she does not want to inherit, her father's. He wants her to be imprisoned, literally chained to a will that is not her own. That's quite the burden, I'd say. But there's another will she would prefer to inherit, obviously: Oden's. I think in the conclusion of this arc, we'll see characters (Luffy, probably) say something about inherited will being something chosen, it has to be a burden you choose to bear, not one forced on you. Yamato will probably feature in this conclusion in a few ways: (1) as a character foil to Momonosuke. It's not a coincidence that they're the exact same age and each want to take on the will that was forced on the other. Momo was swept across the world and travelled with Luffy in order to fulfill his role as Oden's son, but he wants to be Shogun. He takes on Kaido's appearance (via his Devil Fruit). Yamato was chained to Onigashima, and wanted nothing more to escape and travel the world with Luffy, but Kaido wants her to become the Shogun. She takes on Oden's appearance. The arc will conclude with something about Yamato and Momo freely entrusting each other with the dreams of their fathers, or something. (2) as a feature in Luffy choosing to uphold Ace's will. By taking her with him and reaffirming a promise with Tama, we'll see Luffy choose to take on Ace's will. In this way, we'll see that what makes a will truly inherited isn't a bond of blood or destiny, it's a bond of friendship, trust, et cetera. Yamato's storyline will be used to punctuate that theme for Luffy and Momo, the actual central characters of this arc.
I feel like Yamato’s storyline is learning about inherited will and not having to actually be someone (Oden) to carry on their will/dreams.
Hannya, which Yamato’s mask is based on, are well known in Japanese theatrical stage culture for representing characters who are the physical manifestation of twisted female souls.
Yamato seems to be inspired by Oscar François de Jarjayes, from the shōjo manga The Rose of Versailles, who is a woman raised by her father as if she were a boy in order to succeed him as the commander of the Royal Guard at the Palace of Versailles.

The Shogun must be a male of Seiwa Genji lineage according to Japanese history so this explains why she is referred to as son. Oda based Yamato on 2 people. 1) Yamato Takeru a crossdressing Japanese prince and 2) Oscar from Rose of Versailles. Yamato Takeru being the son of Emperor Keiko who crossdressed to kill his enemies. Oscar being a girl raised as a boy to succeed the throne. Oda is mixing Japanese folklore with Rose of Versailles to tell a story of Kaido trying to force his daughter to be the Shogun/a boy. Do you think I rip this from nowhere? Chapter 945 if I recall correctly on VIZ Oda is on the authors comments speaking on Rose of Versailles. Yamato wears a Hannya mask which originates from Noh theater and represents female obsession (Oden obsession) and I bet this arc has a theme of deliverance. Not just deliverance from physical chains but familial bonds as well. The people who refer to her as “he” miss the underlying themes the Shogun must be male and Kaido is probably upset he has no actual son. Yamato does not want to be the Shogun and referring to the last chapter Kaido is trying to tell her what her fate is. The Vivre Cards will not say (Male Heart) like in close reference to Kiku’s card and she will not come out and say “I am a man at heart!” She uses the pronoun boku which is ambiguous and abnormal which is in reference to the “Oden” funny delusional act she has going on. Coming chapters will reveal this more and more. Since the combination of the title card saying daughter -> the Hannya mask -> explosive cuffs and the Shogun theme it was clear she was being bruteforced into something.
Not trying to speak for everyone here, but to say people use "he" because they don't pick up on themes is simply not the case. People use "he/him" pronouns because so far in the story, that is how Yamato has made clear that he would like to be referred to and so people use he/him pronouns out of respect for those desires. I'm not trying to say at all that I disagree with the themes/connections you've mentioned, but to say that you've "cracked the code" and you know better than Yamato on how they should be gendered is disrespectful to them. It may well be the case that everything you said is true and that by the end of the arc Yamato will wish to be referred to with she/her pronouns, but like I said to just assume this before it actually happens is disrespectful. Imagine refusing to use he/him pronouns for a trans-man because you know that their father always wanted a son and assuming their desire to use these pronouns only exists to validate their fathers wishes. I'm not trying to draw a one to one equivalence with this example, I get that One Piece is a story where information does just exist but is introduced with a specific purpose, I just hope I can better explain why many people believe he/him are the correct pronouns to use for Yamato at this time. Frankly, I think the presence of Kiku as a trans-women in this arc might be odas way of setting up the exact scenario you mentioned with yamato while still making sure he doesn't come across as invalidating trans identities. Hopefully that makes sense. Again I'm not trying to be argumentative, only trying explain why many people believe it is more respectful to use he/him pronouns at this time for yamato DESPITE the themes you've mentioned.
Quick fact check: Oscar wasn't raised as a boy to succeed the throne, she was a raised as a boy to become commander of the royal guards

Her not being part of the mainland is symbolic to Wano exactly lol, isolated from the other world and chained there by Kaido for decades. She, like the people of Wano, has this black and white perception of Oden that they blindly follow without looking into why he did what he did. Even now people are putting Momo on some pedestal worth dying for without understanding who he is, similar to their past expectations of Oden for his dad. Yamato is doing the same with her declaration of dying for him based solely on his dad and the stuff in the journal.
Yamato's development seems to fall in parallel to Momo. Momo had to deal with the expectations of being Oden's son and his people want him to be just like Oden they don't see Momonosuke Kozuki.
On the other hand Yamato similarly was thrust with a path set by Kaido her father but wants to be Oden this person who inspired Yamato to the point of worship that every action is posed with the question "what would Oden do."
The climax of both their arcs might be to just choose to be who they are and act as they would do not as their predecessors as they both could never be Oden for instance.
I sort of dislike how some people act like Yamato realizing not to “be oden” and Yamato joining the strawhats are mutually exclusive

time to dive of what i remember of tf2 fandom over the years
tldr: fandom is alright. fandom also ruined a few things to me

sort of luckily, it seems like the fandom itself didn’t ruin the franchise. i still love a lot of things about tf2. but oh man, the fandom...oh the fandom. it can turn into a dumpster fire sometimes. but also that’s fandoms in general
now to go to the point, this is my experience in general, most of the time it’s what I’ve witnessed mostly on tumblr
let’s start with the classes
Scout
oh boi there is a lot. i guess i could describe it as the fandom’s beloved fuckboi punching bag. i saw a fuck ton of people kinning scout. being very loud that scout is 110% trans. I’ve seen so many fanart of trans scout. and of course the fucking..popular ship that is speeding bullet. 😅 also saw many that sees scout as a soft uwu boi. there’s also the usual obnoxious (it’s on point though) scouts with the pink and green coloured cosmetics. Another on point thing is how dumb scout is
Soldier
first off, rest in peace rick may. i love that the fandom mourn for the beloved patriotic mercenary class. i did and do adore that people made him goofy in a lot of times. and i really love the fanart of him and zhanna. i also liked helmet party a bit. i sadly hardly saw brotp type of art of him and demo. overall i guess the overly patriotic is on point? i don’t get the stupidity part of soldier though
Pyro
😅 where to start, there is a lot of mixed stuffs that i’ve seen. firstly what i do like is that pyro is confirmed to be a man under that mysterious suit. although active players deny heavily and say it’s a woman or gender unknown. even though canon comics say it’s a guy. least fav is when people do pyro as oversized infant/toddler. but like you do you. idk if its to satisfy your fetishes. luckily i saw wonderful pyro ocs.
Demoman
overall very loved mercenary! :D least favourite is when demo is done that he is passed out drunk or so drunk that he is dumb. i like casual demo the most. most of the time i see positive stuffs about demo, and i seem to always miss the drama that seem to plague him. i also feel like he is easily a forgettable one
Heavy
fandom’s mascot and fandom’s fav big softy big bro. canon heavy he has a facade to protect his family. sadly or maybe on point? a handful of time he is portrayed dumb. but he is a big bro softy. there are many other things i could add but i feel like i’d start something really bad
Engineer
to describe what the fandom thinks of him: the one that takes care of everyone. i do like the fatherly figure the fandom does of him. although i feel like people forget that engineer can be very serious but choose not to. the edgy headcanon stories for his mechanic hand though is crazy lol
Medic
the slut for all of the team. from early days ive mostly seen medic smut. a lot of which involves with heavy. i did like the change of pace when classic heavy came into frame. smut aside, a lot of crazy experiments and his unruly nature of medical stuffs.
Sniper
a shit ton of smut and lovely art of sniperspy. a lot of piss jokes as well. not enough of him sleeping though. there was a lot of lovely art of him alone though. i adored the occasional bush medicine. when it came to commissioned art, there was a lot of edgy stuffs
Spy
people are horny for the french man. the fanservice that valve does just fuels it. fandom has been supportive of dad!spy. a lot of what ive remember is handful seen spy as hoity toity and “mon dieu why me“ type of thing. and my god valve broke spy fandom with that proud of you scene.

Kurt is a canon character, so I'll keep this short. This is a season one redo, so I'm going to keep everything that was canon in season one and everything we found out later on about what Kurt was like in season one. I don't necessarily want to play an 18 year old though, so I'm going to age him up a little bit so that he's an older second year. Reminders on the important things:
I'm calling it how I see it; Kurt is a trans man. I'm keeping Chris Colfer as the fc, because there isn't a trans fc that has appropriate resources to portray this character and I am a firm believer that any canon character can be trans. Kurt is a counter tenor, he says that he gets mistaken for his mom on the phone, he tells Mercedes and Rachel that "their periods don't start until the end of the month," and I can see it really being a part of his canon hopelessness in season one. He's already started his life as a man and come out in one way, it was already hard enough for his dad to accept (but he did, because Kurt knew from an early age and his mom accepted him so Burt couldn't do anything else, which also makes the way his coming out happens so much more emotional; it was hard for Burt and even harder for Burt without the compassionate ear and advice from his wife, but he did it anyway because he knew she would want him to) Sure, most of the uterus-positive talk about Kurt were probably just jokes thrown in by RIB for the lols at the expense of The Gays, but if you take what he says literally it can really start to add up.
Kurt was doing absolutely nothing at school and had absolutely zero friends, so Burt told him that he had to join a club. Hence his addition into the Glee Club.
I'm starting with him in he closet, but everyone pretty much knows. He just hasn't said it out loud and because there isn't anyone on campus for him to really, seriously see as a potential boyfriend... there isn't a reason to burst that bubble. So he just says nothing and allows people to assume whatever.
I'm thinking about the Dalton Kurt storyline and thinking it could be a potential direction for me to move in with Kurt. At the same time, I can still bring him back to McKinley after like canon. I think I'd like to guide that into being through canon means, where Kurt goes to Dalton to spy for the Glee Club.

i just found out about this a few days ago, i have looked at the twitter account that posted screenshots, i have been to the reddit. and i feel like i must still be missing something? nowhere did i see anything like f**k n******s /jews/trans people ect. i saw a lot of republican support and gun humor…that were posted on his PRIVATE ACCOUNTS .

He’s not one to sing a whole lot, but he would definitely sing the other person’s part if you started singing a duet

Alice is really good at picking up on whenever you’re anxious, it’s a skill she’s developed over the years

She tries to get you to fight your own battles. Not because she doesn’t care, but because she knows you’d like to defend yourself. That being said, if it gets to the point that you’re backing away, she’ll stand for you.
She is perfectly fine taking it slow with you
She’s a vampire, she has the rest of eternity, so she’s in no rush
Alice is very into communication, she doesn’t want to do anything that you aren’t comfortable with.

Plus, the Cullen’s are pretty closed off. They don’t really talk to people outside of themselves, so you don’t have to worry about meeting a lot of people close to her. Just her family.

He doesn’t care how good or bad you sound initially, all you’ve got to do is be nice to him and he’s yours

Crutchie is such a sweet guy, honestly
He knows about your anxiety, and he’s really comforting
He’ll tell you dumb jokes and make stupid puns to calm you down
He hates mean people too. He’s learn to accept his leg over the years, but he still knows that people with disabilities or other minorities are often attacked for things they can’t help.
Crutchie doesn’t like conflict all that much
Sure, he had to be a little aggressive during the strike, but any other time he’d rather settle things in a more civil way
So he’d be all for calming the situation down if things get too violent
Crutchie has never even thought he had a chance to get a significant other, and so any sort of affection had him forgetting how to function properly
Therefore he has no idea how much affection is too much or too little
So he lets you take the reins. You have to make the first moves for most things.

She has anxiety as well, maybe not as bad as you do, but it’s there
So she helps whenever you get anxious, probably makes a dumb joke or two or three

Tsukki is pretty reserved, meaning that he wouldn’t necessarily drag you to all of his games.
He gets that you may feel uncomfortable, so it actually worries him. He’d be excited if you did come, but he’s not upset if you don’t.
Speaking of reserved, Yamaguchi is the only person he really talks to outside of volleyball, and therefore doesn’t have a crowd of friends you need to worry about meeting
Also he has that same glare, you know the one I’m talking about.
Tsukishima isn’t big on PDA, so he’s fine taking things slowly. Again, you’ll probably have to initiate some of “the firsts” just because he doesn’t want to push you or make you uncomfortable or make feel pressured by him asking.
