shoutout to people with taboo OCD thoughts who experience arousal from your taboo fears in dreams. yes, even if during the dream it feels like you "like it", since weird emotions are just another shitty ingredient of the brain soup that is your dream. your dreams do not mean anything and neither does your bodily response to them. this is not an indication of your "true feelings". i know that this can be one of the hardest things to deal with in terms of intrusive thoughts, and it can be tough not to internalize them. I hope you have a wonderful day.

!!!!!!Special Reminder!!!!!!
Getting better/recovery looks different for everyone, please don’t compare yourself to others, none of our stories are exactly the same. I’m proud of all of you for doing what you can and being so very you!!! please try not to let other people’s progress decide where you should be.
You don’t owe it to anyone to be an “easy to digest” disabled person and anyone around you who says that you’re being “difficult” because you’re not acting like a disabled person that they know is not very educated and most likely doesn’t know how difficult it is for us to exist and how much we hide from the people around us and society in general, along with how different we all are.

Message to fellow OCD havers: ily, you're doing amazing and I'm proud of how far you've come. Your symptoms do not make you a bad person no matter what they are and you are strong enough to make it through. You can do this!

I just saw a blog of a person with OCD who was an anti so I just want to remind all of my lovely fellow OCD havers that thought crimes are not real. Your thoughts don’t become reality. That is your mental illness talking. If you are surrounding yourself with people who tell you that your bad thoughts will become real you need to get out of that situation for your own wellbeing. I love you all and I hope you can find some peace from your thoughts ♥️

ocd can become frighteningly efficient at tormenting you. the more you obsess, the faster your body and brain can bring out the things you obsess over. intrusive thoughts can pop into your mind faster. groinals can get more immediate. intrusive body-focused sensations can jump out before you even register your thoughts. sometimes your anxiety can take a moment to catch up with your thoughts/sensations. and that fact can be scary, and can set off more ruminations, more obsessions, more self-doubt and self-loathing.
this is still ocd. you are okay. if you've been struggling with this, you are a wonderful person and i hope you have a lovely day.

i love waking up in the morning and rememebering that my mental illness doesnt define me and that everyday im making progress even (especially) when it feels like im not and that im the happiest ive ever been since the onset and that none of this is my fault and newsflash buddy its not your fault either. im sure you had very specific circumstances that caused the onset that you obsess over and probably blame yourself for but i dont care. everyone thinks theyre the exception to the rule of ‘its not your fault’ but there are no exceptions. its not your fault. whatever it is, its not your fault. and i mean whatever. not your fault. i love you.

reminder that your intrusive thoughts are a lying little bitch. let them pass, they don't know who you are. you know yourself better and I'm proud of you handling them. don't be hard on yourself for something you can't control. i don't know what you go through, i just know it can be hard and you are so brave to keep fighting
no matter what your intrusive thoughts try to tell you, you are not cruel for having them and you are a wonderful person <3 i love you

To abuse survivors who aren’t palatable, who aren’t the perfect victim: it’s okay. You’re okay. It’s not your fault. I’m glad you’re here.
To abuse survivors with intrusive thoughts or kinks/attraction/etc. from what you experienced: what stays inside your head is not a reflection of your morals. All you need to do is act ethically. Your thoughts do not make you evil.
To abuse survivors with anger issues: anger is an understandable response to what you’ve gone through. Anger can be healthy! It can be healing. You don’t have to hurt anyone the way you were hurt.
To abuse survivors with personality disorders, dissociative disorders, anything like that: you are worthy of love. You deserve to find a support system that will accept you as you are and cheer you on as you work towards becoming healthier.
To abuse survivors who are irrevocably changed by what they’ve been through, but have found beauty in the way their cracks have healed over with gold: you are so important. I wish you happiness, and peace, and a family (found or otherwise) that celebrates your existence.
