I'm actually doing really well. I've continued my medical transition, and strengthened old friendships, and found wonderful new ones, and learned to be gentler with myself.

I've been focusing on things that make me happy. Unfortunately, this account just reminds me too much of being harassed. :( I'm not going to completely abandon it anytime soon - I'm actually working on a fic to post on AO3 in the next few days - but I’ve been trying not to log in very often.

But again, I’m doing really well. Things are going great for me! I’m just not posting about them on here.

trans people are stronger together. my irl best friend had one of their nephlings come out to him as gender non conforming, then finally felt comfortable to admit that she's a trans girl and she was ready to embrace it after seeing my friend come out as a trans guy. my friend was able to tell her that he could always just tell that she was always 'like him'. it took him coming out to give her that courage, and knowing that she has support in him, SOMEWHERE in her family. her knowing that she has support gave her the strength to be honest to and about herself.

this is the "point" of being trans. we are stronger together. when one of us comes out and loudly and proudly admits who we are, it gives others who are scared the courage to do the same, or at the very least, acknowledge internally who they are. not everyone has the ability to come out to others safely, but being there to give someone who can the courage to do so is a joy, a service, and an honor. even just by being who you are, you can inspire others to do the same, and give them the strength they wouldn't have been able to find otherwise.

testosterone is so cool. i barely had any body hair pre-T so watching it grow is so amusing and surprising. like?? it grows there???? people have ELBOW HAIR?????

this is gonna sound like a shitpost but the best advice i have if youre consistently coming off wrong is to start talking like an elcor

you will feel like a dumdum at first, but once you get used to it youll realize that telling people what kind of thing you're about to say ahead of time flattens their anxiety a huge amount

ive been starting every question with "question:" for awhile now and i almost never get people reading too much into what i mean anymore

it seems super dumb, but "what are your plans tomorrow?" gets people asking me what i have planned despite me obviously being in the process of figuring that out, whereas "question: what are your plans tomorrow?" gets me a quick rundown of their schedule, followed by "why?"

it also makes it really easy to work tone indicators into your verbal speech. if you're always saying "question: [your question here]?" then no one blinks when you say "genuine question: [question that could read as sarcastic]?"

it also gets you out of your own way for any types of things you struggle to say. "can you make sure to do the dishes before you go to bed?" feels like an argument waiting to happen, but "request: can you make sure to do the dishes before you go to bed?" gets the words flowing on a neutral word while making it clear that you're not looking for a fight

so yeah. suggestion: talk like an elcor

I just stumbled across what I think is a really good way to explain why I write underage fiction and how it helps me cope with my P-OCD:

My brain: what if *nasty CSA thought* Me: D: Me: okay but what if *nasty CSA thought, but with fictional characters and also I'm engaging with it on my own terms* :) My brain: *blessed silence*

Remembering that one ff.net author that wrote literally hundreds of fics for hundreds of different fandoms and every single one ended with iron man showing up and killing everybody. regardless of what fandom the fic was for. iron man would show up. every time.

People discussing ‘unhinged’ fanfiction always seem to talk about dark!fic or explicit stuff, as opposed to the truly unhinged stuff like the fic author zapping all their favs from a story onto a set, assigning them roles, and forcing them to act out popular movies. Because, let me tell you, I read a fic like that with the original Yugioh cast acting out Disney’s Aladdin approximately fifteen years ago, and it is to this day one of the one of the most unhinged pieces of media I’ve ever consumed.
