You'd struggled with depression long before you were sent to the Devildom. While the brothers had managed to keep you busy, to the point where your mind didn't have the time nor the energy to think about the things that made you feel so down, there were still plenty of times when you found yourself breaking down or even resorting back to the bad habits you'd thought you'd "grown out of." Life isn't easy, you know this. But you hated to make it someone else's problem. Whenever you'd tell someone about your issues, you always felt like a burden, so you kept it to yourself. When the brothers entered your life, you didn't want them finding out about it at all. That's when you tried to better yourself, get rid of those habits that kept you down in that place. But, unfortunately, life isn't easy, old habits are hard to kill, and secrets won't always be kept hidden.
Lucifer
You struggled with accepting the reality of life's cruelty.
You wanted to keep your mind busy so that you could have some form of escape, even if that meant pulling all-nighters just so you didn't have to fear the things that'd appear in your head once the area around you gets quiet and your mind is free to wander. This meant that you'd be doing a majority of your RAD schoolwork at night, weeks before the due date just so you could distract yourself.
You could still see the scars that littered over your arms, mainly those from your more recent assaults upon yourself, though you were always careful to hide them.
When you were in your room one night, however, you were wearing a tank top and shorts, ready to call it a night until your anxiety spiked and you were suddenly sitting at your desk, scribbling notes of random, possibly useless, information that you recalled from your lessons.
You managed to fall asleep like this.
Lucifer had only walked into your room to check on you, as he could see the faintest light seeping from beneath your door. He was just about ready to scold you for staying up so late, but when he entered the room and walked toward you, he noticed two things.
One being that you were very much asleep, your cheek pressed against an open textbook, and small scribble lines not going unnoticed as signs of your drowsiness before you passed out.
Two being that your arms were almost covered in scars.
His eyes widened, reaching a gloved hand out gently to twist your arm toward him, getting a better look.
There were scabs and old wounds that littered your arms, all the way up to your upper forearm.
His true surprise though, was when he saw one that was different from the others. It was still red, not bleeding, but it was more recent than the ones that had healed over.
Were you unhappy here? Why did you feel the need to do such a thing?
Lucifer couldn't begin to comprehend the complexity of human emotion, it wasn't his best suit in general. But this? He had no idea what he should do. Wake you up? Pretend like he didn't see anything?
He carefully carried you to your bed and tucked you in, pressing a tender kiss to your forehead, and softly wishing you sweet dreams.
After that, Lucifer would definitely check up on you more often. "How was your day, MC?", "Not too overworked, I hope?", "Perhaps your efforts should be rewarded. How about dinner? On me."
He never spoke to you directly about it. Even if he did, there wasn't much he knew to do. Despite this, he wants to be your rock, your shoulder to cry on. Every opportunity he gets, he holds his hand out to you, allowing you to rant about the shitty day you've had or how much you hate something/someone.
And every time, when he'd comfort you with a warm and tight embrace and soft strokes to your hair, he'd press a kiss to the top of your head, and whisper to you,
"I'm always here for you, whenever you need me."
Mammon
You struggled with talking about your emotions to other people.
Whenever you did, you just felt like a burden, so you often would bottle up everything you felt and let it all out at once when you're in the privacy of your own room, crying, and cutting.
Mammon walked in on you in the act, actually. His shades fell to the ground at the same time your small blade did.
"O-Oi! Whaddya think yer doin', huh?!" He asked, closing the door and rushing to your side. "Bandages," He muttered, dashing out of the room for a mere moment before running back in, unraveling the roll of bandages, and dropping the rest of the First-Aid kit. "Shit!" He fumbled with some of the supplies but quickly got to work on wrapping up your arms.
It was sloppy work, but at least he managed to tie it and stop the blood from seeping out of the cuts you'd made. The whole time, you just sat there, frozen in place, tears seemingly not stopping anytime soon.
When he was done bandaging you, he sat down at your side, and there was silence for the first time between the two of you. You didn't want to start bawling your eyes out, but you couldn't stop the small whimpers that escaped your throat, nor could you stop the tears that stained your face.
You rested your head on his shoulder and started sobbing, gripping his jacket, seeking his comfort.
Mammon flinched at the sudden contact but quickly wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close.
Twenty minutes passed before he spoke amidst the silence after you'd finished crying.
"M'not gonna ask why... Just... Please don't do it again... I'll try to make ya happy, okay? Just promise me ya won't do it again."
Leviathan
You struggled with socializing.
Ever since you were a child, you never really fit in with society, so you just decided to hole yourself up in your room.
However, when you did try to make friends, you'd always get turned down rather harshly.
You were considered a weirdo.
So, you started cutting. It became a habit that stuck with you into your adulthood, and it was difficult to get rid of.
Even at the House of Lamentation, you found it too tempting. Especially when Asmodeus or Mammon would give you weird looks when you'd try to include yourself in conversation with the two of them.
The only person who could understand this was Leviathan, which is why he didn't ask any questions when he saw your scars. He didn't ask why you did it, didn't tell you off for doing it, he understood more than you thought. The thing is, his scars healed way faster because of his immortality.
"Don't hurt yourself, MC. Those dumb normies don't deserve people like you," He'd say, a determined smile on his face. "Why don't we do a marathon of your favorite anime? What was it? Devil Killer? (Cookie for whoever gets this reference) We can watch that and play video games all night if it means taking your mind off of things. So, um... L-Let's try to be each other's company, if that's okay with you..."
Satan
You were very emotional.
You'd be chided and teased for your short temper, your "crybaby" nature, but you just didn't know how to handle your own emotions sometimes.
Well, all the time.
So, you started cutting. Though, you didn't want to be conspicuous. You knew better than to let people know your weakness just from rolling up your sleeves. Your area of choice was your thighs.
You became fond of the cutting as a release of your feelings. This bleeded into your adulthood, and it was the only way you could cope without being so emotional.
However, nothing can get past the Avatar of Wrath when it comes to his own sin.
He could tell you were angry, angry enough to do something drastic, so he didn't bother knocking when he came into your room.
Satan saw you sitting on your bed, towel beneath you, thighs bleeding, a blade in your hand, and tears in your eyes.
He was quick to come in with the first-aid kit, neatly bandaging your wounds.
"Satan—" "Not right now, MC," He cut you off. He was upset that you were hurting yourself, and he couldn't trust himself to talk to you without scolding you. Scolding wasn't what you needed right now.
Once he was finished, he looked down at you, a distraught expression on his face. "Why would you do this to yourself, MC?" He asked softly, resting his forehead against your shoulder. He held your hips with his hands, trying to maintain a hold on you. "Why hurt yourself? Is it because of what others think of you? What you think of yourself?"
Satan tucked a few strands of your hair behind your ear, emerald eyes peering deep into yours. "No matter. You don't have to answer my questions now, MC... I just want you to be okay."
Asmodeus
You struggled with loving yourself.
You were always pressured to live up to society's beauty standards. When you tried, you failed more often than you didn't, and you'd be chided for your failure. That's why you started cutting in the first place.
Cutting gave you this kind of inexplicable relief. Since you hated yourself so much, there was a small voice in the back of your head telling you that something so ugly deserves this kind of treatment.
When Asmo saw your arms for the first time, he was frozen in place. The Avatar of Lust was speechless for the first time in years.
It was an accident, you'd never meant to expose your cut-up arms to him for fear of being judged. He was just really pushy about you trying out a new perfume, one that had a roll-on applicator.
"Darling," He spoke softly, keeping a sweet tone as he gently grasped your hands. "Did you do this?"
You bit your lip, casting your gaze down to your lap. Almost immediately, he grasped your chin between his thumb and index finger, tilting your head upward to look at him. The saddened expression in his eyes almost made you run out of the room.
He let out a small sigh, opening a drawer that was attached to his vanity mirror.
"You really shouldn't," He murmured softly as he squirted ointment onto your arm, rubbing it into your skin. "Your skin is too pretty, you're too pretty to be harming yourself like this."
Pretty?
You hadn't been called pretty before, not from what you can remember.
"Don't do this anymore, yes? Promise me you won't harm your beautiful body like this anymore."
Beelzebub
You struggled with your body image and stress eating.
You found it difficult to live up to the standards set by society, at least, that's what you felt. You always felt very insecure about your body, and your eating habits didn't help either.
The Avatar of Gluttony found out about your stress eating when he was raiding the fridge one night. You had woken up feeling especially stressed out about an exam you had the next day, so you had gone down to the kitchen to grab a snack.
You and Beel had a conversation about your habit, and how insecure you felt about yourself.
"Your body looks fine, MC," He said mid-chew, taking another bite of whatever food was left over from tonight's dinner. "I know the feeling. I eat a whole lot more when I'm feeling overwhelmed, that's why a lot of people think that I've got a black hole for a stomach. But there's nothing wrong with you. You're not weird or anything, I think you're perfect!"
The way he said all of this to you with that sweet smile of his almost made you cry.
Belphegor
You suffered from night terrors and insomnia.
Your anxiety made it difficult to sleep, so most nights you just wouldn't. You didn't even want to at this point, a direct result of your horrific nightmares. Your lack of sleep was evident due to the dark circles under your eyes the next morning and your struggle to stay awake at RAD.
Lucifer had gotten on to you for this, and Belphegor wanted to help.
That's why he was in your room. He was planning to help put you to sleep, but you couldn't stop squirming in your bed.
Belphie had taken the floor out of respect for your privacy, but he couldn't sleep hearing you toss and turn in your bed.
"Alright, move over," He said abruptly, standing over your bed and kneeling on it. You felt a dip in the mattress and shifted, moving over to give him room on your bed. He slid under the covers and wrapped his arms around you, clinging to you like you were a body pillow.
Belphegor buried his face into the back of your neck, breathing in your scent as he closed his eyes. "Sleep, MC... I'll be here when you wake up."

My period is coming and I'm already depressed so my mind goes to dark places sometimes and I was taking a shower when i started to think.
(This makes no sense and I wrote it in a hurry because I will forget about it later, so don't think about it too hard.)
What if the mc had a really close bond with their siblings? A healthy loving bond (something Mammon is hardly ever in the receiving end of) that made him think about his current possibilities and his past choices. A bond that made Mammon crave a brotherly relationship where he's not a permanent joke and not constantly punished or humiliated for his sin.
He wants what mc has, but, of all the things he can steal, their family is not one of them.
His envy grows corrosive and so does his frustration. Surely he's not the first demon to ever want to escape the Devildom, right? Certainly not under Lucifer's watchful eye, but if there's a will there's a way.
Or maybe... Maybe. Maybe he can reject his sin? Is that even possible?
Greed is what causes his brothers' disgust, so maybe getting rid of it is what could grant him the opportunity to feel so beautifully loved.
Diavolo wouldn't let him, of course. Hell, Lucifer would probably hang him upside down for a millenia for even having the idea. Mc however... They're a powerful sorcerer, a diamond in the rough, and, luckily for him, his friend. His best friend, actually.
Testing his self control and not selling every ancient book in the library was hard, but doing the research with mc made it fun and new and exciting. The human sure had a love for risks and adventures; and breaking already forgotten Devildom laws was not going to stop any of them.
But they should've been more cautious. They both should've thought about all possible outcomes.
Getting rid of Greed was the easiest part of all.
Needing to find a new recipient was a task he didn't expect to have.
Watching mc, the closest body to the magic, becoming the new Avatar was something Mammon didn't know he never wanted to witness.
The human wasn't powerful enough to survive his previous punishment and his responsibilities as a ruler. Their body would crush from the inside out, their blood would become toxic and he would be there to watch the horrible torture.
What had he done?

[AU]✨️💪🏽 The second strongest 💪🏽✨️
Tumblr media
🔎Summary: Alternative universe (AU) in which the Demon King gave the brothers no choice but to participate in a Gladiator-like competition shortly after they arrived to the Devildom to determine their future based on their abilities. While Mammon is declared 2nd strongest, he can barely catch his breath; although he's satisfied with the outcome.
👥️Characters: Lucifer, Mammon, Leviathan, Satan, Asmodeus, Beelzebub, Belphegor, Demon King (Diavolo's father) and Diavolo.
⚠️Warnings: Angst. Hints of mental illness such as PTSD. Hallucinations. Consequences of physical exhaustion.
📝 Note: Mammon is the main character, although his brothers' achievements are mentioned. This is just a draft, nothing too serious, of what I thought went down on the Devildom to determine the brothers' order of strength, and hence, their positions from eldest to youngest. I mentioned this is an AU because I'm sure this is NOT what happened, even if the devs/writer(s) haven't explained exactly how it was determined. I haven't played Nightbringer.
✨️💖💛✨️💖💛✨️💖💛✨️💖💛✨️💖💛✨️💖💛✨️
Mammon feels dizzy, his head spinning after a long and strenuous display of both physical and magical power. He pants, trying to catch his breath, pink cheeks, messy hair, sweaty body, and a strong need for hydration. He can barely hear what the Demon King says to the Devildom Coliseum.
—Lucifer, Avatar of Pride—, the Demon King announces, —... morning star in every realm, seal of perfection, full of wisdom and beauty, dazzling being. You are the eldest of your brothers, the strongest, the ultimate regent of pride in hell—.
—My lords—, Lucifer makes a reverence to the Demon King and Prince Diavolo as thanking them for such honor, trying to hide his tiredness.
Meanwhile, between the roaring crowd and the buzz in his ears, Mammon doesn't decipher the Demon King's words until he's granted a yellow banner and a medal.
—Congratulations boy. You're the second strongest of the new rulers of the Devildom. You, sinful reincarnation, the Great Mammon: Avatar of greed—. The crowd explotes in a frenzy of intoxicating cheers and applause once again.
With his little strength, Mammon bows his head to the royal family; then looks back at Lucifer and grins devilishly. Lucifer's chest fills with pride like a peacock, delighted by his own position. But most importantly, gloating on the satisfaction because their plan worked: now the seven of them are nobility deep in the darkness of Hell itself.
As Mammon sees it, today was a small price to pay: his sanity, his memories of using the same damn spells, and the same damn moves to kill his own kind in the Celestial Realm. He clearly observes Lilith standing in front of him with a worried look, a vision that he can't unsee. Mammon feels like he could throw up, between his sister's vision and an army of ghost: the faces of his fellow brothers and sisters under Father's dictatorship, shatter by his own powers and speed: destructive and deadly, are now haunting him in a clear hallucination. He knows he's seeing unrealistic fake visions, and yet, he feels threatened. However, he can't escape, trapped by the heavy weight of his tired body after his last battle against no other than his older brother.
Is a mixture of feelings and emotions: he is now a noble of hell, he just proved himself worthy in front of the crowd, but at the expense of his own mental health and physical exhaustion.
Diavolo, sitting right next to his father, hates the view. Not a single smile as he feels his potential friends hating the competition and mourning his sister's death while killing and hurting in the arena more than they already had some weeks ago.
Today, like roman gladiators, the seven of them had to face obstacles after obstacles, from fighting monsters to even fighting among themselves until their bodies could no more. All of these, just so the Demon King decided the fate of their indefinite stay in his kingdom of shadows. It proved to work better than expected. Now, they all are nobility, guardsmen of their sin, managers of their sin related affairs, representatives, and reincarnations of their sin itself.
As such, Mammon was up to a boring job, but he'll endure it for eternity if that means his brothers can live at peace under the eternal nightsky.
Mammon sighs in relief. With him and Lucifer on top of the chain, providing and taking care of their brothers at the expense of their own sanity, well-being, and safety, if necessary, will be a relief for their family. They two are enough. But, the Demon King names the rest of their brothers too:
—Leviathan, Avatar of Envy...—, the Demon king starts.
—Eh?! Me?!—, Levi answers in surprise.
—... Master of water itself. Third in line. Third strongest. And Grand Admiral of the Devildom's Navy, as per my son's request—.
Leviathan blushes, and with the little energy that he has left, between whispers, he starts panicking at such title. Meanwhile, Mammon and Lucifer smile at each other with pride, as if Levi's titles mean their own. Part of them, joyful at the news of his brother's incorporation to the Devildom's army, proving their plan fruitful, and also, on the other hand, happy of his little brother's success.
The Demon King continues, —Satan, Avatar of Wrath. Knowledgeable and intimidating, you are the fourth strongest lord of the Devildom. May your wrath cause havoc among all the realms—.
—Tsk!—, Satan diverts his gaze with clear annoyance at the fact that he has to live forever under Lucifer's shadow, especially after such great exhaustion.
—Asmodeus, once the gem of the Celestial Realm. You, Avatar of Lust, are the fifth of your brothers. I hope you find this realm as entertaining as the Celestial—.
—Even more, your majesty—, Asmo answers with a reverence and his usual cute tone of voice, trying to hide the sweat drops that fall from his forehead.
The Demon King smiles, and then looks at Beel: —Beelzebub, Avatar of Gluttony. Your strength and resilience is admirable, just as much as your great appetite. You are the sixth among your brothers—.
Beel bows, and then, with a sadden puppy face, he whispers to one of his brothers: —Man, I'm super hungry!—.
—And lastly but equally important—, the Demon King calls —Belphegor, Avatar of Sloth. Your powers are as terrifying as you are smart. Don't be fooled by your position as seventh, your wicked demon magic could defeat an entire army—.
The crowd cheers and screams, delighted by the show and the outcome. Meanwhile, the seven brothers look at each other with worried faces: —What? "Could defeat an entire army"?—, Leviathan repeats in a question, their conversation protected by the bustle of the public.
Belphie directs to Luci, with a sadden expression in his handsome face and the feeling of his fatigue finally kicking in, he just says: —Lucifer...—.
Lucifer feels his chest tighten. That's what they are now: nobility, yes, but at the cost of being a war asset. A weapon of violence. And this arena, right below their feet, was the stage to display their potential.
—Don't make that face, Belphegor. I'm sure we will not be at war any time soon. It's just... political moves. We're at peace now, and so does want Diavolo. Let's trust it'll remain at that—, Lucifer smiles to his brothers with tranquility; but Mammon can see behind his older brother's stoicism and understands it's only a fragile peace that barely exists, crumbling apart at the notion of ideology and superiority between realms.
—Don't worry Belphie...—, Mammon states, being able to read the tension as Lucifer's answer was not enough to make his littlest brothers happy, —Now we're top dogs here, y'know? No war will be fought if we want peace... I, for instance, don't wanna kill anyone... ever again—.
Mammon looks at the nightsky: the Devildom's moon hiding behind the Coliseum's stands where the public cheers, cries, laughs, screams, and talks.
—I don't wanna kill ever again...—, Mammon repeats on a whisper.
What awaits them now? Mammon believes this pain will never go away.

So I thought of something and it hurt so if I have to suffer, so do y’all :>
Anyway, we all know how Mammon was assigned to protect MC right? A defenseless human in a realm full of lowly demons what would harm MC given the chance
But we never see that.
You know what we did see?
Levi wanting to kill MC cause they knew more of TSL than him
Asmo almost getting MC killed cause of getting sucked into a portrait of one of Amos’s past lovers cause of an incident that happened that was completely Asmos’ fault
Satan wanting to kill MC cause they wouldn’t have a pact with him
Beel almost killing MC and going on a rampage over custard
the few times Lucifer threatened MC
Belphie actually killing MC
Through out the first 20 chapters, those six are the only ones that brought/almost brought MC harm
Who would’ve known the lowly demons Mammon was supposed to protect MC from were his own brothers
(I was thinking about Mammon and Mammon angst when this came to mind)

How would brothers react after realizing your pact mark is gone
Pt. 2
Hey! Someone told me to make brothers in order so here is the Mammon part! Next is Leviathan.
Also someone wanted to be tagged so @idfk-lolll
Ps: I didn't proof read this one. Reading things I wrote makes me cringe.
Enjoy✨
Mammon
Avatar of Greed was at casino as usual. But today was a little different from the others. He had the worst luck ever! Losing again again. It was driving him insane.
How could that happen? He was usually very lucky. He would take the biggest amount of money almost every night. Gambling was his profession after all..
After a while he couldn't stand his bad luck and decided to left. He was sitting at the corner of some random street. Staring at blank in the dark. Thoughts racing in his mind.
When was the last time he won big? Or when was the last time he had fun at a casino?
Oh! It was the night he brought MC to the casino! He remembered that it was one of the luckiest nights of his life.
How could he forget?? MC was his lucky charm. Of course! It was MC that made casinos fun. He remembered all the good times they spent together.
He smiled thought bitter sweet memories. He went home too see his lucky charm. But something felt off.
He was scared. He knew the mistakes he made. He was scared that he may lost his MC. But still he needed the see something about them. He needed to see the pact mark. He needed to feel it.
He took of his shirt. Put his hand on his heart. He felt nothing. There was big nothing where MC's pact mark was supposed to be...
He desperately needed them.Tears started falling down. He squeezed his chest to feel something. Still, there was nothing.
Was that it? MC really left him. But, but now who would protect him from the insults of his brothers? Who would believe in him? Hey! Who would let him know that he is worthy?
When the reality hit him he felt alone. Like he was all alone in three realms. But he would never accept that. He needed them. And he was greedy. No matter what he wanted MC.
He started running towards to the Demon Lord's Castle. He would beg on his knees for his human. Just to see their face.
Even if it's for one last time..

Part 3 : Elpis
A/N: I know that I have been gone for very long and almost abandoned these series. But I have exams going, and yesterday's paper was one of the shittiest ones I've ever written and I was feeling super down. So I came back to finish the angst, lol.
Anyways, I think it's lowkey rushed, but I hope everyone likes it :)
Also It felt so weird writing this chapters because I kept getting new ideas and I wanted to keep writing, but I didn't want to make it tooo long, though it's still pretty lengthy.
Repeating for clarity, MC DID NOT KNOW Mammon at all. She's a complete random stranger who happened to be there.
This part is going to be pretty heavy, so please proceed with caution.
Part 3 : Elpis
(Mammon x F!MC)
Warnings: Suicidal thoughts, Mammon is almost about to attempt suicide, bullying, verbal abuse, physical abuse, and mental abuse, blood, self harm, nightmares.
A LOT OF ANGST!!!
If you are sensitive to any of these, please do not read. This could be triggering.
Written in Third Person POV. Also, If there are any grammatical errors, please feel free to correct them.
Number of words : 2.5k

———————————————————————
Simeon woke up with a gasp.
Beads of sweat lined his forehead as he desperately tried to calm his erratic breathing. It was the 6th time in a row.
He had another vision.
Simeon and Luke had temporarily returned to Celestial Realm after Luke fell seriously ill. Luke had almost recovered, but he needed a few more days to heal completely before they returned for the exchange program.
Simeon and Luke weren't aware of anything that had transpired back in Devildom in their absence, because they had left before the video was released.
But since the past few days, Simeon has been seeing terrible visions.
Visions of Mammon's death followed by utter chaos among his brothers, then a war with the human world. He vividly remembers seeing the Sorcerer's Society up in arms against the 6 brothers.
Solomon was there too, fighting against the brothers.
Simeon felt shivers when recalled how brutally Solomon ended Asmodeus's life after using their pact to his advantage. The entire war was a bloody mess with many dead, including Belphegor, Asmodeus, and Leviathan.
His visions never showed him the end of the war, so he never knew who won.
Wiping his forehead with the back of his hand Simeon decided it was time to talk to Michael. He needed to inform him about the visions and apologize for not telling sooner.
Getting out of his bed, Simeon got ready to visit Michael.
※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※
Michael appeared perplexed when Simeon told him about his visions.
Visions were not a part of Simeon's powers. Now he was seeing a recurring vision, that too one about a war between humans and demons?
Michael sent Simeon back after reassuring him that he'd get in touch with him about this matter soon. Unsatisfied with Michael's answer Simeon reluctantly headed back to his place.
He had a sinking feeling in his stomach and he couldn't shake it off.
He cared about Solomon and the brothers, and he had grown very attached to them. These visions were like nightmares to him, and he felt helpless. He really wanted to do something to prevent all of this.
The thing that perplexed him the most was Mammon's death.
He did not know the cause of his death, he only knew that his body was found in the human realm with his heart ripped out.
Seeing his brother's body in that condition had incurred Lucifer's wrath, equivalent to what he had seen during the war before his fall.
The brothers had concluded that humans were somehow responsible for Mammon's death and bathed the human world in blood. Simeon's head hurt just thinking about it.
"Father," he prayed. "Please protect everyone."

Barbatos and Diavolo had known.
They were aware of the tragedy that was about to occur, after all, Barbatos had already checked every timeline.
Unfortunately, all of them only had one outcome, Mammon's death.
Diavolo was devastated upon learning this. He had failed! He failed as the future King! How could he not protect his subject, his dear friend Mammon?
Barbatos himself felt a little lost, his stoic persona wavered as remembered what he what he saw. Although he never openly showed his affection for Mammon, he cared. He cared more than anyone would believe.
It was hard for either of them to digest the fact
The panic slowly started to set in.
Diavolo insisted on talking to Mammon immediately, but he was stopped by Barbatos, who informed him of how every effort made by them in other timelines had done more damage than help.
In one timeline, when they tried talking to Mammon about his mental health, he denied everything. He laughed it off and replied with a "Nobody can hurt the Great Mammon!"
In other timelines, if they punished the students for bullying him, they would isolate themselves even further from him and would call him a snitch or a baby. And if they tried to stop Asmodeus from releasing the video by going to the past, another video of Mammon would always surface.
In the end, they couldn't change the future.

The winds picked up as Barbatos chanted mantras to invoke his most powerful magic.
Diavolo stood not far away, looking at the figure at a distance with a grave look on his face, his demon form emerging as Mammon stepped closer to the edge.
The Prince of Hell had never imagined that a day like this would ever come. The guilt in his heart was immeasurable knowing he had failed his dear subject, and he had almost been too late to realize that.
Now they had no option but to do this. Barbatos was going to freeze the time on Earth for a couple of hours until the full moon ended and then erase his memories from the past few months.
The next moon full as powerful as this one was three months away and that should give them more time to do something.
His eyes turned to Barbatos on his left as he stood in a trance-like state with his eyes closed, a dark aura emitting from him. He was almost done with the process.
"δεθιλΠγπξΨυΣἀἧΪΏ"
Barbatos began chanting louder, and his eyes slowly started opening to release his powers.
Diavolo turned his attention back to Mammon to check on him, and his eyes widened at what he saw. “Barbatos stop!” He yelled and grabbed the butler’s arm to break his concentration.
Barbatos fell on his knees, eyes opened wide and bloodshot, tears pouring out of them. "My Lord," Barbatos gasped, completely out of breath. "Why?"
Diavolo winced at Barbatos' state."Barbatos, I apologize. But we don't need to intervene anymore. He already has."

Silver butterflies.
They were a sign of God’s presence.
Diavolo, Barbatos, and Lucifer were the only demons who knew about those butterflies. They are usually seen when someone about to die is about to ascend to heaven OR it means that God was around.
Mammon, who was surrounded, couldn’t see the silver butterflies dancing around him.
They formed a line that was going in a particular direction. Almost like it was linking Mammon with something.
Or someone.
A human girl?
Diavolo and Barbatos watched from a distance, as the girl approached the bridge. She too was surrounded by the silver butterflies.
And she could see them.
There was awe on her face as she stared at those beautiful miracles fluttering around her. The bright full moon, the silver butterflies, and the gentle cool winds made the scene look magical.
Diavolo and Barbatos watched as the girl followed the butterflies giggling, not noticing Mammon.
Until she did. Her eyes fell on Mammon's figure, still in his human form, standing on the ledge with a painfully serene look on his face. The silver butterflies long forgotten, she ran towards Mammon with wide eyes and a panicked expression.
"No," she gasped, grabbing Mammon and pulling him down. “Please, please don’t do it.”
"What da hell?" Mammon cursed. "Who are ya?"
The human who was smiling and giggling just a few moments ago now had heavy tears flowing down her face.
"Please don't do this."
"What is it to ya?" Mammon yanked his hand out of the human's hands.
"It's not worth it, please. Don't do it," she repeated.
Mammon sighed irritatedly. "Look human, ya should go back. Ya don't know me and it's not yer place to tell me what to do."
"Please, it will hurt your loved ones--"
"I DON'T HAVE LOVED ONES." Mammon roared. "I am a scumbag, I don't deserve to live or be loved."
"That's not true!"
"What do ya know?!"
"Yes, I don't anything!! But what I do know is that nothing in this world is worth more than your life. It doesn't matter who loves whom. It's never going to be worth more than you!"
Mammon stayed silent.
"Why should you die for their sins? Why should you suffer because they aren't good people? I'm sorry you had to go through whatever you did, I'm sorry you don't think you deserve to be loved, and I'm really sorry that you find solace in the idea of dying. But please please please for the love of God, please don't do this"
Mammon wanted to scoff at the human. For the love of God? His father whom he betrayed for his wretched brother who has abandoned him now?
Karma, it's probably Karma, Mammon thinks.
He didn't want to listen to the human in front of him, after all, she was speaking the truth. He shouldn't have to suffer for his brothers.
But he was tired. Mammon didn't feel like he had enough strength to be strong another day. He had forgotten how to love himself, and without love, he knew he would shrivel.
Death was really the only option left.
Mammon realized that he shouldn't waste his time any further talking to this human. She was too nice for him and it's pretty late for a human girl to be out anyways.
"Look, I get what ya tryin' to say-"
"No," she stopped him from speaking, taking hold of his arm again. " I am not going to let you do it. You better be prepared to kill me if you want me to let go of you."
"Have ya lost yer mind?" Mammon looked at her with disbelief.
"No, I have not. But I will lose my mind because of guilt if I ignore this and let you do it."
Why? Why was this human going so far for him? Pity? Guilt?
"I will be there for you. We can be friends."
Mammon scoffed. What an arrogant human.
"Yer as stupid as ya look. Ya think I won't kill ya? And what makes ya think yer sob speech is enough to not make me jump? Ya only wanna be ma friend outta pity and I don't want any of that. Ya don't havta feel guilty or anythin. The world is not yer child an yer not responsible for it. Go home."
Mammon forced himself out of the human's grip and stood up. He looked at her, as she stared blankly at the ground.
He felt bad for being rude to her, but he had no choice. Mammon didn't like pity. After giving her one last look and climbed the edge again. He was about to switch to his demon form when a thought crossed his mind
Won't the human get terrified if she sees his demon form? What if she has nightmares?
"Give me one minute," she spoke interrupting Mammon's train of thoughts. She whipped out her phone and began typing furiously.
Is she calling for help? Will I have to deal with more annoying humans?
"Done," she declared and tossed her phone to the side of the bridge. It landed sideways and you could hear it crack.
What the--?
"Can you move a little and make some space for me? " She asked Mammon, coming over to where he was standing.
Mammon stood on a small ledge at the end of the bridge. It was the darkest corner and that's why he chose it. Although it was small, it could still hold two people.
"What are ya doing?" Mammon questioned, as the human struggled to get on the ledge.
"Joining you."
"What? Why? Human, have ya seriously lost yer mind?"
"No."
"Then what hell is yer problem ?! Why can't ya just leave me alone? Was that irritating speech of yours jus' empty words? Does the same logic not apply to ya?" "My brother committed suicide six months ago."
What--??
"I was the one who found his body. It was dark when I entered his room and his legs hit my face. He was hanging from the ceiling."
Mammon was left speechless at this sudden confession.
"I often wondered you know, why did he do it. He didn't leave a letter, a note, or even give a proper goodbye. He was my only family. I haven't moved on from his death yet. What if I had paid attention, would I have noticed that my always happy and smiling older brother was actually struggling? Did I ever notice how tired he looked or how lifeless his eyes were? If I had, maybe he would still be here."
There was a pause, as she struggled to continue.
"Maybe if I was a better sister, maybe if I wasn't such a burden, then he wouldn't have died. I feel so pathetic you know. So useless. If anything he deserved to live more than I do. He worked so many jobs to ensure we both had a roof over our heads and food on our plates. He sacrificed most of his life to make sure that my life was good, and what did I do for him? Nothing." "Hey stop. Yer not to blame for anything that happened, and ya don't havta to tell me if it's so painful--"
"No, I am telling you all of this because I want you know to that I don't have a reason to live either. I had lost my will to live the day my brother died, but I kept going because everyone told me that my brother would've wanted me to be happy. I tried, I tried so hard to be happy but I couldn't. And today when I saw you on the ledge with the same expression as my brother on the day he killed himself, I felt the world slip under my feet. If I can't stop you from killing yourself, it's going to destroy me. So why not join you? I always feared dying alone anyway."
She had successfully climbed up and now stood beside Mammon.
"If you don't mind, can I request something? Can we hold hands when we jump?"
Mammon could tell she was trembling, he could sense her fear.
Humans truly are the most annoying species in the whole universe.
"Tch, stupid human," Mammon grumbled and picked up the human in bridal style. He got down from the ledge and walked away from the corner, still holding her in his arms.
"What are you doing?"
"Shuddup, I'm taking ya to the mental hospital. Ya need some serious help."
"Do you know the address to one?"
"No, but ya will tell me. I know ya know."
"Fine, I'll tell you. But can we please stop at my place for a bit? I have to pick up a couple of things."
"Tch tch, Annoying little human."

(Part 1) (Part 2) (Part 3) (Part 4) (Part 5) (Part 6) (Part 7)
CW: General angst, unhealthy coping habits, starvation. *If I missed any, let me know!*
It was a rare occurrence for Lucifer and his brothers to storm the Demon Lord’s Castle, but it seemed the Prince and butler were expecting it. The last couple of days, the Avatars had been absolutely miserable now that you and Mammon were no longer in their lives.
Perhaps it was a lesson for them to realize what they had until it was gone.
All they wanted was you two to be back home with them, where you belonged. They knew they hadn’t treated you like the beloved members of the family that you were, but they wanted you back before they had lost you both forever.
“Lucifer. It’s unlike you to come over unannounced,” Diavolo greets calmly as he puts his cup of tea down, a small stack of papers at his desk. The opposite of what was expected. “Usually it’s me that comes over unannounced, much to your chagrin. Isn’t that right?”
The Prince now gazed upon six outraged avatars as he sat calmly at his desk and poured himself another cup. “If this is about MC and Mammon, as I’ve said to you before. They are living happily in the human world, and I am going to keep it that way.”
“None of this would have happened if you hadn’t proposed your stupid program.” Belphegor bitterly points out as Lucifer quickly holds the youngest back, “Lord Diavolo....We just want MC and Mammon back. Please.” The eldest’s pride departed from his very being as the eldest drops to the floor on his knees, the rest of the avatars following suit.
Diavolo lets out a ‘hmph.’ as he leans back in his chair, giving the brothers the same steely gaze back from Achemond’s induction. “If I recall, you and your brothers drove MC out yourselves. Even you, Lucifer attacked MC. What is it now? The fourth time? And from what MC has told me. Not one, not one of you bothered in defending them, nor stopping Lucifer. Except Mammon, he at least remembered his role as MC’s guardian.”
Lucifer audibly ‘tchs’ as he hears Diavolo rise from his desk, the screech of the chair’s leg dragged across the floor and the brothers flinch. The prince paces around the Avatars and lets out a low growl as Barbatos lets himself inside. “Apologies Young Master. I had tried to deny them access.” the butler apologizes as Diavolo shakes his head, “Hm. Barbatos, please read a report from MC to the brothers.”
Before the brothers could voice a protest, Diavolo quickly snaps his fingers, putting a silencing spell over them. “Go on then Barbatos. Let Lucifer and his brothers know how MC felt being replaced.” The brothers had no choice but to hear and feel your words as Barbatos clears his throat and begins to read.
“Report number...gods, how many has it been now? I’m sorry Lord Diavolo. I’m losing count with these reports, but it’s probably going to be the same as last week’s. And probably just the same as the weeks before that. I feel like a broken record at this point.”
“Lucifer and the brothers have obviously devoted all their time to Angel, constantly praising them as the perfect human exchange student. I suppose I was that to them once upon a time. They just moved on with Angel as if I’m not even here. But now...I’m just a waste of space here.”
“Mammon’s getting treated the same way too...And Mammon’s supposed to be Angel’s guardian too. But it seems he can’t fulfil that role, not with his brothers constantly bringing him down more harshly. I feel like the brothers want nothing to do with me nor Mammon anymore. If it gets worse, I hope you and Barbatos won’t mind if I ask that you look after Mammon for me. I suppose the novelty of having their dead sister’s descendant has overstayed its welcome. My time here is done.”
As Barbatos spoke, the brothers could only silently reflect on the past few months. Was it that easy to have you replaced by someone who clearly outclassed you in terms of skill and power? Angel might had made life easier for them in terms of looking out for them, but you had gone through the process of tirelessly fixing their family. You had seen plenty of the good and bad, and even died because of them. Angel wouldn’t experienced any of that, of course the brothers acted like those hardships were a thing of the past.
All of a sudden, Lucifer let out a choked gasp as Diavolo snapped his finger, the rest of his brothers gasping for air. “Do you understand now Lucifer? MC has decided for themselves. And Mammon chose to accompany them, he was always quite the loyal brother, wasn’t he?”
Having lost two more of the most important people in his life, and by now, his pride had gone with the words he would have rebuked at Diavolo. Lucifer kept his head to the ground once more, “Lord Diavolo. Please. We need to see them. They need to forgive us. Please.”
Diavolo lets out a grunted ‘hmph’, staring down at the Avatar of Pride as he had seen this form before, “That will be up to them.” He gives Barbatos a knowing look as a portal emerges.
“One chance Avatars. And that is all you will have.”
• - - - - - - ☆- - - - - - •
With the Avatars now standing before you, your grip on Mammon’s arm tightened as Mammon tensed. Maybe his hunch about the human plotting wasn’t too far out of the realm of possibility. But a quick glance towards the paled face of the other human and the low hisses from their familiar said otherwise.
Lucifer was careful in keeping the brothers from rushing you and Mammon as he clearly could see the distress from you and the hostility from his favorite brother. “MC. Mammon. We’re here to take you back home.” The eldest coolly responds as if he were scolding children.
“Why are you all doing here? You lot didn’t bother looking for me, no matter what I did. Never had you since the fall, you all could care for all those times I ran away from home.” he snarled at his brothers, glaring daggers at them.
Beel was the first of the little brothers to speak up, “MC...You weren’t serious about leaving the Devildom, were you?” he asked as if he was a shamed pup. “MC, Mammon...Don’t you want to come back home? We can be a family again.” he offers as the gentle giant’s tone was laced with guilt as Mammon remained unconvinced.
“Why?” Mammon growls, “You wanna look afta two burdens now?” he retorts as the little brothers gasp in shock. He could see their faces turn to worry the fact that Mammon was a human now settled in, would they really step up to look after two humans under their care?
“I don’t even know why you’re all here. Especially you of all demons.” You argued as you stood your ground in defiance, now standing with Mammon and glared at Lucifer in particular. “We’re only doing what you told us to do, Avatar of Pride.”
Lucifer felt your bite, hurt as he was at you both, he kept his composure. “And what was that MC?” he questions, perhaps still hoping you’d both come back. However, you would not budge.
“You told us to know our place, and we did. We no longer belong in Devildom with you all. It only took another human to show the true colors of demons, didn’t it? You all just easily pushed me aside once someone better came along.” You answer as their faces fell in response.
Satan steps forward as he could feel the wrath roll off both of you, “MC, Mammon. Please. We were wrong. Your place is back in the Devildom with us. We can fix this...And Mammon’s role of the Avatar.” Satan trembled as he gazed upon the demon who raised him, who, in return stared icily at him.
The last words Asmodeus had said to you both were insults that you had forgotten about, yet his words were fresh in his head. And for once, the bravado that he carried had been completely wiped out. “MC, love. Mammon. Please. We’ll do anything to have you home with us.”
“It was all Angel’s fault! If they weren’t here, we wouldn’t be having this problem!” Leviathan quickly interjects and the brothers murmur in agreement as the human between you and Mammon was put on the spot.
Angel’s fists balled as they glared at the brothers, “I’ve done nothing! You brothers brought this upon yourselves!” they called them out as their eyes widened and they fell silent for a moment.
An awful realization set in as Angel repeated their words, “I did nothing.” It was true, wasn’t it? They could have just said no to the brothers, they could have fought to have you and Mammon with them during their time in the Devildom. All of this could have been avoided and the state of the Devildom would have been the same for the past thousands of years.
Yet here they are. Mammon was no longer the Avatar of Greed, bested by a mere human.
“MC. Let us take care of that human and move on. We’ll be a family again.” Belphegor suggests as the brothers seemingly agreed on what they’d believed would solve all their problems. You could see how they were staring Angel down, as if they were dogs waiting for you to command them to sic them.
“Then it’s settled.” Lucifer turns to Angel, “Prepare to pay for your crimes-”
As if you’d let that happen and it’d fix all that happened in the last months.
“Bad dogs! Sit!” It was your turn to snarl at the brothers as their bodies had stopped in perfect sync. You commanded as their bodies obeyed, even the mighty Lucifer couldn’t fight back the power of your pact. You had forced them on their knees to look up at you.
• - - - - - - ☆- - - - - - •
“I’d watch what you say Belphegor. Once upon a time, I was that human. And no harm will come to Angel.” You told off the Avatar of Sloth as you stand in between the demons and Angel. There was fire in your eyes as Lucifer grunts in frustration, pride was not going to let a human direct him on what he needed to do to ‘fix’ this mess he and brothers had caused.
“MC!” The little brothers pleaded as you stare down at them, Asmo struggled against the pact as he was close to tears, “MC!! Mammon! Don’t you want to be a family again?!”
The former avatar looks at his brothers on the ground, it was some family alright. “Family?” he mutters the word bitterly as he stares at every one of them, “This ain’t the family I remember falling with.”
Angel shifted their weight as they spoke up, “MC. Mammon.” Their tone was steeped in guilt as they knew you could have set your demons upon them when they had offered you the chance to. You gave them a sympathetic look, you already knew a death wouldn’t restore the normalcy between you, Mammon, and the brothers.
“MC. Let’s get outta here.” Mammon takes you hand as if he could feel the waves of wrath roll off your shoulders, “Ya don’t gotta say a thing to them.” He frowns at the state that his brothers were in but you firmly shook your head.
“No, Mammon. I think I’ve held my tongue for far too long.”
You take a breath, you had always been so kind and patient with the brothers and the sins that dictated their every word and action. You had even been on the receiving end of them at times, perhaps it was their turn for them to taste your wrath.
“Now. All of you will be silent, for these are the last words you’ll ever hear from us.” You commanded as their mouths were sealed shut, only scared eyes gazed upon you both.
• - - - - - - ☆- - - - - - •
“I hope you are aware that a simple ‘I’m sorry’ will not easily fix this situation.” You reprimand them as you give Mammon a sympathetic look, “It’s because of you that Mammon’s chosen to live out the rest of his life as a human. And what the Devildom has now become.”
“I stayed because I believed I was still a beloved member of your family. But then I realized you all kept me around because I was a replacement for Lilith.” You stare down at them, especially at the eldest and youngest, “And none of you ever apologized for putting me in danger, much less apologize for my death.”
“You may have forgotten about what you all put me through,” You point at Mammon, “But he hasn’t. I was there, dying in his arms. And you all idly watched. The same family who treats Mammon like scum, purely of the sin that he was cursed with. I can’t believe he still calls you his family, you’ve abused and used Mammon for your own benefit, and yet he still loves you. If it were me, I would have left a long ass time ago.” You spat at them in disgust as your pacts glowed, the flow of your wrath palpable now to them.
“Humans are quite the novelty to demons, aren’t they? Until they lose their appeal.” You pace about in front of the brothers as you gave them a hard look. “First there was Solomon, an impressive all knowing wizard, with 72 pacts with demons. Then everyone got suspicious on who’d he add to his collection next.”
“And then I came along, an unsuspecting human who managed to tame the Seven Lords. All under the ruse of getting pacts to save this family.” You lament as you trace over a visible pact mark to the brothers, and stared at it in disgust. “I fixed a broken family, and what do I get in return? My own death and left abandoned for another. There’s no use having these if the demons I call upon couldn’t be bothered to aid me in my time of need.”
You glance over Angel, “Of course, I suppose they did whatever they could with their arsenal of talent just to survive. If I had an ounce of the magical talent they possessed, I would have done the same. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been here again that my soul no longer carries the shine that you all were so attracted to.”
“So of course I decided to leave. There’s was no use of me putting effort into relationships with people who no longer cared about me.” You look to your first man and give him a soft smile, one just for him. “Only Mammon stuck by my side. And he’s decided that’s where he’ll stay.”
Mammon gazes upon his brothers as he huffs, and steps in front of the downed brothers. All their pleading of wanting him back would have fell upon deaf ears as his glare of disappointment and contempt could only be felt upon.
“Listen...Yer my family...But I can’t forgive ya for whatcha did to MC. For what ya did all this time, and what ya all did to me for all my life.” Mammon began as he shakes his head. “This family never appreciated, nor loved me. Fuck. The moment I got my sin, you all treated me like the designated punching bag for ya own sins. I tried so hard to keep this family together since tha fall, but I’m tired of carrying you all.”
Mammon paces just as you did as it was time to let things off his chest. “Ya all treat me like ma sin is the worst thing in all seven layers of hell. But lemme tell ya something, all of yous are just as bad as me. So why do I get the worst punishments for ma sin?”
Mammon stared at his little brothers now as his lips quivers in apprehension. They were lucky he had kept his angelic kindness but now, the little brothers he loved so much were now on the receiving end of what they had put him through.
“Satan wrecks shit, Beel eats everything in sight, and Asmo brings home strangers to sleep with. Levi spends a shit ton of grimm on shit he doesn’t need, Belphie gets to cruise through life; cause he’s the baby of the family, and the baby always gets what he wants. And you, Lucifer, ain’t nothing more but a sadistic tyrant who chooses to beat the shit outta us when things don’t go ya way.”
“But when I steal and spend, when I give into my sin. It’s suddenly treason and the only way to fix it is to beat me or the fucking means is execution?” Mammon snarls at the last sentence, how many times had they threatened and terrified him into submission with that?
“You ain’t the little brothers I raised.” Mammon uttered in disappointment as he watched their faces fall, and turned to Lucifer, and he felt his shoulders fall. “You ain’t the brother I looked up ta, the one who I followed and fell with.”
“MC was the only good that came into my life, and I ain’t letting them go. You all, still treated me like shit, and MC always had my back. They’ve been there for me when you all brought me down. A human cared for me more than my own brothers.” By now Mammon’s tears had flowed freely as it had never occurred to them that their words actually affected him that badly.
“I’m through with this family.” Mammon finally seethed as he returned by your side. His blue eyes burned into their’s as tears hadn’t stopped flowing down his face. And it would be the last image of their brother that they would see him as.
You stare down at the brothers as you release them from the pact’s bindings, “You’ve heard him. He’s done with you all. And so am I. There is nothing more to say.” You both make your way to Angel and stand with them.
“MC. Mammon.” Lucifer spoke as by now, he knew nothing he said now would change your minds. Keeping still on his knees, Lucifer swallows hard as he speaks the last words, “Will you ever forgive us? I don’t care how long it takes, I have to know.”
You stay silent for a moment as the brothers followed Pride’s example, “...I don’t know. I know it’s not now, not in the foreseeable future.”
“Then we will wait. No matter how long it takes.” Lucifer answers as the brothers sadly gaze upon you and Mammon, knowing that they’d never be a family again. A portal opens behind them, as if their time with you was up by Barbatos’ command as the brothers were pulled in.
“Goodbye MC, goodbye Mammon. Until we meet again, we will wait for you.”
• - - - - - - ☆- - - - - - •
You let out a sigh of relief, you had overcome another obstacle provided by the brothers and you quickly find comfort in Mammon’s arms. “It’s over. It’s finally over.” You barely whisper as if the weight of the world had finally been lifted off your shoulders.
Mammon simply nods as he gazes upon your tired form, “MC..I can’t believe you actually felt like that tha whole time ya been livin with us.” He frowns, how could he have not picked up on it sooner. “I..uh..sorry. I couldn’t protect you, especially from my brothers.” he mumbles softly against the crook of your neck.
“No. Mammon, it was never your fault.” You hug him and melt into his embrace, “We’re free now, we don’t have to worry about them now.”
Angel clears their throat as they were aware that they were very much the third wheel still, “Will you ever forgive them though MC?” they ask as you looked thoughtful, and shook your head. “I don’t know. I just know it won’t be soon.” You gave Angel a half smile as you approach them and put a hand on their shoulder. “I still want you to know that I don’t blame you for all that’s happened.”
Brimmond chirps from Angel’s occupied shoulder, “Not even an ounce of blame MC? You haven’t forgotten that it’s because of us that the Devildom has now entered a new era?” You give the familiar a stroke across his head and shake your head, “No. I don’t I can. Besides, I know you didn’t mean for all of this to happen.”
“Oi! I’m still ‘ere ya know?” Mammon interjects as he frowns, but the thought wasn’t too far off from his deepest thoughts. “But...huh. It’s weird ya know? Not having them 24/7 insultin and punishing me? It’s...kinda like being out of some sort of duty that I had ta be with ‘em, otherwise I’d be nothing.” Mammon gives you both a small smile, “But. I get ta be myself here, without them bringin me down. Ya know?”
“It’s a feeling of being set free from them?” Angel concludes as the last call for the train sounds off and that must have been a sign. “And speaking of being set free, I shall do the same and set you both free of me.” They turn to depart onto their trip home before you called after them.
“I wish we had more time together though Angel! We can make up for lost time?” You offer hopefully as they turned back to face you. They give you both a reassuring smile, and for some reason, you felt like everything was going to be okay.
“Goodbye MC, Mammon. Until we meet again.” Angel says their farewell as they depart onto the last train of the night. You and Mammon wave a send off to them as Brimmond meows loudly to you both before the door closes behind them, leaving you and Mammon are left alone.
“So what happens now?” Mammon questions you as you shake your head and give him a soft smile, “Now? Now it’s just you and me Mammon. Mom’s still letting us pick our home, all we gotta do is pick the one we’ll call home.”
“Home...” Mammon gives you a bittersweet smile as he wrapped his arm around your waist as you both headed back to the apartment, “For once I can’t wait to go home. Ain’t that sad MC?” He chuckles halfheartedly as you leaned against him.
“It doesn’t have to be sad thing Mammon. You won’t be alone because I’ll be with you til the very end.”

The House of Lamentation has never been so still and as silent as it has now as in sorrow, the brothers had returned home without their brother and you. The house that once held life, was silent and cold, except for the unending and repeated tone of the grandfather clock.
But who could blame the both of you? Not after the way they had treated you, and the centuries of Mammon enduring their insults and physical punishments. A simple apology couldn’t, and wouldn’t change a thing. They knew things weren’t going to be the same as it was.
Your room, along with Mammon’s are left as they had been when you and Mammon had decided together that you’d leave the Devildom forever. Despite the fact that Mammon’s room was quite a mess, none of the brothers felt the room being tidy was Mammon at all. They now stand as a shrine to both of your memories. And most days, your rooms would have a brother or two occupying your beds, wishing you both could come back.
All of the remaining brothers, especially Lucifer and Satan dutifully clean the dust off in your rooms. They decide not to throw anything out, from the collection of losing lottery tickets scattered the floor in Mammon’s room to your notebooks filled with all your RAD classes. Nothing was going to leave your rooms, they were trying to hold onto any and every piece of you.
The reality of Mammon’s presence hit the brothers when their finances were shaky at best. The brothers were firm that they wanted nothing to do with Archemond, Avatar of Greed or not. The budget was going to be tight if the brothers weren’t out getting jobs to sustain their lifestyles. They would have to work for their money, whether they liked it or not.
Lucifer couldn’t afford the expensive demonus and getting his suit pressed to prim and proper condition, and it seemed Diavolo had reduced his pay. Fitting punishment since he was the cause that you and Mammon had left. Leviathan wasn’t able to buy all the latest in anime and gaming goods, his admiral stipend could only pay so much. His heart broke many times over the things he couldn’t buy, not as much as not having you and Mammon here with him.
Satan could not buy his exclusive human world novels and food for the stray cats. And finding a suitable job with his temperament was difficult, unless he could be alone or with those he deemed suitable. Asmodeus was in a pickle when it came to finances, no more expensive clothes and beauty supplies, though he had donations for his superfans. Though it felt hollow as he felt guilty that he seemed to be the only one who wasn’t affected, and it ended up going to the family’s budget.
Beelezebub could not eat as much as he wanted to, though as of late, his appetite had declined dramatically. Any heavy lifting job at the Akuzon warehouses, he’d take. Someone had to continue to protect the family, even if it meant that his hunger would bother him immensely. Belphegor couldn’t exactly skim through responsibilities, nor could he make his brothers do work for him. While he complained about having to do labor, the appeal of working from home didn’t sound too bad. If he did end up working.
The brothers all dealt with your’s and Mammon’s absence in their own way, they are firm in waiting for you and Mammon to eventually forgiven them.
• - - - - - - ☆- - - - - - •
As of late, Lucifer holes himself in his study, aside from answering the Prince about his duties. He only came out to mealtimes and he could check on them every night, in an attempt to keep his brothers from falling apart. Only he had fallen apart the moment you both swore you’d never forgive him.
But he had to find reason to keep going, if there was one. Cursed records and bottles of demonus is the current world he lives in. In the evenings after dinner, Lucifer spends the most of his time blaring out his records, and pouring himself another glass and wallow in his sorrow.
Father’s favorite son is lost, he had lost his favorite and most cherished brother. The one he could depend on no matter what, yet he had failed him. Mammon was the one who held the family together after their fall, and now the family was dangling by a thin thread. It was only Mammon who had that effect on his brothers, to keep them feeling alright at the expense of his own pain. And now anything could break their threads of sanity.
And you, his most treasured human. It was you he was the most grateful to, you had repaired his family and brought them back together again. A feat even the mighty and proud Lucifer couldn’t triumph with all the strength he possessed. You were the only one for him that was worth throwing his pride aside. You had done so much for his family, and this is how he had repaid you.
None of this would had happened if he just said ‘no’ to Lord Diavolo’s proposal of hosting another exchange program. The stack of reports you had sent to Diavolo as a part of the program sits at his desk, and Lucifer couldn’t find the heart to read what you had wrote. You must had been suffering immensely, and he had chose ignorance in favor of excellence of another.
Angel would have been the perfect candidate at the beginning of the program, as a goody two shoes. It would have been an unremarkable, and the facade of keeping Belphie locked up from his brothers would have still continued. But if the that were the case, you wouldn’t have come along and repaired the broken bonds between him and his brothers.
Of course Mammon had chosen to stay by your side when he and the other brothers had drifted away. He had trusted him to look after you, and much to his surprise, Mammon had chosen a human over his family. Of course he did, you had showed him unconditional love and kindness, a far cry from what his own flesh and blood had treated him.
He shouldn’t have been too hard on either of you, he shouldn’t have let his pride blind him. Would Lilith be proud of him? She wouldn’t have forgiven him from beyond the grave for treating her descendant like this. He had let Mammon down and he had let you down. And now you both were gone forever.
He could only reflect on what he had done, he had lost three of his loved ones. Father must have been enjoying how his favorite son was suffering for how far he had dragged down his brothers due to his actions.
• - - - - - - ☆- - - - - - •
If Leviathan was the shut in of the family, the dial is turned up to eleven after you and Mammon weren’t here. He hardly left his room, only that Lucifer was the only who could drag him out of his room, just to make sure he was eating.
His life was a constant pity party, even moreso now that his big brother and his only friend(aside from Henry 2.0), were no longer a part of his life. Leviathan spent his days wallowing in his bedtub, in his own thoughts that had come true. He no longer had focus on his usual routines of games and anime. Even his online friends couldn’t get him out out of his sorrow.
Nothing he loved could bring him any comfort, not even the Ruri-chan limited events and special promos could bring him any joy. Clutching his special Ruri-chan pillow close to him, he could only wish it was you instead. How he found you asleep next to him on those late night anime episode marathons, sure it was awkward for him but he ended up cherishing you just being next to him.
He was always the first to insult Mammon before anyone could, of course it was his fault. How could he not know his words hurt his brother? Stuff like this happened so many times in the slice of life animes that you and himself watched. How could he not realize stuff like this could even hurt his older brother?
You were his most cherished friend, his first one in all these centuries. You felt real, none of his online friends could compare to you. Like in those animes you both watched together, he felt the blossoming of true friendship between you. And yet he had so easily tossed you aside for someone who he deemed .
Sure, Angel had impressed Leviathan with TSL knowledge compared to your knowledge and your attention span to the subject. But they were not you, if it weren’t for you, he wouldn’t even have been able to go on about it with them. After that, Leviathan had pushed you aside as if they were a much better you.
The Lord of Shadow had abandoned his one true Henry for another. Who saw the real him, listened to his rants, and supported him in all his interests despite causing secondhand embarrassment to the other brothers. Leviathan would never meet a true Henry like yourself, someone as special like didn’t pop up as such every century.
The Lord of Shadow had also lost his Lord of Fools, who was his guardian from way back in the Celestial Realm. His memories of Mammon being his guardian and mentor back then seemed like a distant memory. Mammon always did want Leviathan to loosen up and have fun. Not to mention Mammon was the reason he had gotten everything he wanted, at the expense of the emotional and physical well being of his brother.
Leviathan sunk further into his bedtub as the blanket came over him, if he had possessed the spine of Lotan, he would still have you and Mammon back with him. Perhaps you both were better off without such a worthless and yucky otaku, maybe he didn’t deserve everything good you both had given him.
• - - - - - - ☆- - - - - - •
Being wrath incarnate, a part of the house would be broken one way or another. Which didn’t help Lucifer’s finances, but deep down Satan knew no matter how much he destroyed, you and Mammon weren’t coming back to the Devildom.
If you deemed his room to be a mess, then it was a warzone. The sounds of howls of agony and objects being tossed, and shelves breaking had ruined his orderly collections. Wrath came and went in waves as the brothers knew they would hear another outrage in a few days.
In the aftermath, Satan collapsed to the floor his deep pants were what was left. His horns, tail, and claws receded as he collapsed in the rubble, and at his feet laid a torn book. The pages were worn as Satan immediately recognized which one it was, the forbidden book that started the body switch with him and Lucifer. And thus began his journey in knowing and understanding you.
A warm tear drops onto the page as he shakily touches it. How could he have forgotten about you so easily? It was almost like a storybook tale, the main character who saved the family. It was you who had improved his relationship with Lucifer in such a short amount of time and brought the family together once again. What started as a ploy to use you to annoy Lucifer, you became much more than that, you became a valued confidant and a beloved member of the family.
While it was true that Angel’s knowledge of topics outclassed your’s, and thus he and them could converse for hours compared to having to explain everything to you. In addition, the fact that they had a talking cat familiar shouldn’t had easily swayed his favorability over you. How he tossed you aside in favor of a person that he deemed more worthy than you was a decision that he’d regret.
And Mammon, his dear brother who raised him after their fall, despite his circumstances. Despite the fact that he constantly hurt Mammon when Lucifer couldn’t face his own creation. How could he just act like he had never done his brother wrong? He was just as guilty as the others, always pointing out his flaws, as if he didn’t have any. His was just as bad as the others.
Mammon truly was the most decent of brothers wasn’t he? He couldn’t recall if Mammon had laid a hand against you, but he did vividly remember the day you rejected making the pact with him. Even now he remembers how Mammon solely stood up against Lucifer and protected you, when they were all supposed to.
Satan finds an old children’s book, a picture of a cat graced its cover. The tears hadn’t stopped as he remembered how Mammon would read this book to him when Lucifer refused. Nights when the witches were the absolute worst to him, he still soldiered on and spent time with him to assured that he was still a part of the family. When did it all go to shit? When did he stop being a grateful little brother to the one who helped raised him?
Mammon was the epitome of a big brother and you were an angel, you both had played a major role in his life. Sure he had plenty of people he had connections with, but none of them could ever make him connect so much as you and Mammon. He had let the both of you slip through his fingers, if only he had the wisdom to prevent all of this from happening, he’d go back in time and reverse it all.

Asmodeus tries to fill the void as he always had when he felt like he was missing something. Hosting his Asmo parties and coming home with strangers for a good time was his go to solution to fill the void you both left in him. But nothing would ever make him feel as whole as you and Mammon had did, unconditional love was something his fans could not provide him.
Of course when the party highs had quickly diminished, Asmodeus had to face the lows. Lows where he holed himself in his room, sobbing loudly during the night as he had thrown his self care out the window. Between the noisy hiccups and him sniffling in to keep his snot from coming out, wails of your name and Mammon’s filled his room.
Between the revolving door of strangers occupying his bed and days where Asmodeus was a mess in his bed, he had deeply cried out for you and Mammon to return to him. His pillows were soaked with tears and makeup of days past, his breath trembled as he reached for the last tissue in the box and wiped his tears.
Even with him constantly trying to get Solomon to give all the deets on what you and Mammon were doing in the human world, he was denied each time. Even stalking all your socials, along with Mammon’s, even if he tried to figure out what his human world handles were. Not even any of his hanger-ons could figure that out.
You had seen his most ugly side of him, yet you brought out the best of him, he had accepted that your were on the same level as he. It had been the first time since falling did he truly crave to be validated by the one and only human he deemed worthy of his love. You had fixed his family, a feat even the greatest sorcerer he’d known for ages couldn’t accomplish. You had taught him that true beauty was more than superficial, it was about having a beautiful heart and mind, but more importantly, a beautiful soul. Something he seemed to have and currently lacked when it came to you.
And for Mammon? Why would he have wanted to come back with the family? He was always insulting him for just about anything, the family’s own punching bag. Even he couldn’t recall how it all started, Mammon did always have a certain confidence about him, perhaps that’s why. He always had to cover up his insecurities with his makeup and his honeyed words. He had forgotten about his brother who had looked after him, and gave him those coveted modeling gigs? He, along with Levi were always the one who insulted Mammon first. Of course Mammon wouldn’t want to stay with them if that was all he got from them.
There was nothing he could do now, without Mammon around, he couldn’t go on shopping sprees or host his wild parties. He had to resort to the oldest job since the dawn of time, for once he had to think of his family rather than indulge in himself. But was it really worth it if you both weren’t here with him?
Perhaps you were both fed up with him, why, with him talking about himself nonstop. As if it was his world and everyone was just living in it, only as pawns for him to play with. He was so full of himself, why would he wanted anyone lesser? Coming back from an physically and emotionally draining night, Asmo didn’t bother with his own self care. Instead to cry once more into the sheets and wail for the ones he had loved and lost.

Beelzebub prides himself as the family’s protector, yet he couldn’t protect you nor his older brother from themselves. Now he had lost two more of his family, what good was being the protector if he so easily let you and Mammon slip through his grasps once more?
Though you’d think he’d be devastated by the family having a dramatic drop in how much he could consume, nothing could compare to the loss of you and Mammon. Beelzebub had started eating less, it wasn’t like the food tasted any better. Why would it if you and Mammon weren’t here with him? Beelzebub didn’t find much joy in eating since you both left and some days he found himself starving himself.
It was only through his twin that begged him to eat enough to sate the pain, was this the same pain you had gone through when he had pushed you aside? Had he been so blissfully ignorant of your suffering that he didn’t even notice how little you had eaten in the past few months? Beelzebub gently holds a cookbook you compiled for him, recipes that you both had cooked together. When was the last time you both cooked together?
Angel was polite and friendly towards you and the rest of the family, how could he just accept them as another friend? Did it just take one spell to keep him from eating everything in sight that he’d easily forget you and everything you’ve done to save his family?
Sure, you saw him as a bottomless pit at first, but you saw him as a gentle giant who cared deeply of his family. How could he had forgot that you protected himself and Luke from Lucifer’s wrath? He had so easily forgotten that you had shared your life candle with him as well, now your life was cut shorter because of him. He had failed you once again, how many times did he have to fail you to get it through his thick skull?
And his dear brother Mammon, who had looked after the twins after their fall. Mammon had done so much in keeping the family together after their tragedy, and this is how they had repaid him. Even back in the Celestial Realm, Mammon had been too lenient on the twins and Lilith, and it was no different in the Devildom with the twins. Mammon really did let them get away with things as he had did back then.
Beelzebub had blindly followed Lucifer in never calling him out for Mammon’s punishments, nor did he do anything to aid his brother. He had also failed to protect you from Lucifer once more. He didn’t call out the rest of his siblings either, perhaps he was as dumb as he looked. His stomach growls once more, though he can’t bring himself sate his hunger.
He had blamed himself for Lilith’s death, now he had to add failing you and Mammon to the list. All Beelzebub could do now is protect the brothers that remained, he wasn’t going to lose another family member. Who would hold his hand when the nightmares of losing you and Mammon started creeping into his dreams now? • - - - - - - ☆- - - - - - •
Belphie sleeps more than usual, and doesn’t want to do anything else. Sleep was a pitiful form of refuge, sometimes it’d be nice to forget about things for a little while. Except when he woke up, reality would just come back to hit him. Why hadn’t he tried to be more than what his sin confined him to?
The awful reality that he was the cause of your demise again, along with him losing another sibling because of him, was not what he wanted to relive again. He couldn’t just coast through life so easily now that the brothers had to work to upkeep the House of Lamentation. It now dawned on him that life was never going to be the same.
Belphegor would either spend most of the time in either your room or Mammon’s, mumbling in his sleep, he was begging you two to come back. He spent lonely nights in the planetarium, staring and your stars, along with his and Beel’s. As much as he’d like to think that his sin was the cause of you both leaving, he was aware that he had done nothing.
How could he had just forget everything that you’ve done for his family? Oh wait, they did forget about him killing you, you probably didn’t forget and you easily wanted to leave due to that. He knew Mammon didn’t forget seeing his baby brother kill his beloved human, and it was easy that Mammon had chosen to stay by your side rather than the family.
You may had tried to make amends with Belphie, even if it was a painful ordeal. You still had nightmares and at times of uncertainty, you feared that he might lash out from you denying him anything he asked. Mammon had been extra clingy with you and tried to keep Belphegor at arm’s length, but he always took this as jealousy. Why couldn’t he see that sooner?
Reflecting on your words about being Lilith’s descendant, he knew deep down that wasn’t the only reason why he loved you. You were you. Not Lilith. Not a replacement for the sister he lost. Yet he so quickly replaced you when Angel had come into their home. It was easy for Belphie and Angel to get along, they were enamored with constellations and there was no bad history between them. Why couldn’t he just spend time with you both? Now who was going to watch the stars with him? Who would be there to wake him in the morning after?
He had done nothing for his beloved big brother, even taking part in antagonizing him as much as he would with Lucifer. When was the last time he had done something nice for him? After all these years of Mammon raising his little brothers before and after the fall, Belphie was nothing but an ungrateful brat. He could have shown him a shred of kindness after all Mammon had done for the family, but it was far more easier to insult and ridicule him, knowing that Mammon wouldn’t actually fight back.
You were both gone, Belphie knew why. He, along with his brothers had taken advantage of the love and kindness that you and Mammon had towards the family and you had both had enough. Belphegor slept in the attic, feeling as useless as he had when he had lost Lilith. The only way he could see you both back is in his dreams, never wanting to wake up to cruel reality he caused.

With the departure of the recent human exchange student, Lord Diavolo had closed the exchange program indefinitely. Simeon and Luke had returned to the Celestial Realm, and Solomon had gone back to the human world. While they were able to keep a constant communication with you, the same could not be said for the brothers.
There is an obvious shift in behavior from the six brothers that the lower and noble demons noticed. They knew better than to instigate trouble with the brothers, now resorting to walking on eggshells around the coldness of the avatars.
The whole Devildom had noticed the strained relationship between the Avatars and Lord Diavolo. If Lucifer and Diavolo had been attached at the hip, it wasn’t so much anymore. Ristorante Six had never seen the pair dine together. And during formal balls, all the Avatars were there physically, but mentally, they had checked out the moment you and Mammon flat out rejected them.
Hell had really frozen over the Devildom since your’s and Mammon’s departure.
The six lords would wait for you both, until the day you both would forgive them. But would you? That would be up to you two.
• - - - - - - ☆- - - - - - •
~One year later~
Things had gone smoothly since that night of cutting off the Avatars from both of your lives, albeit there were a couple of bumps along the way. You had considered removing your pacts as you had no use of them now. If that were the case, Mammon was supportive with your decision.
Mammon had become quite a successful model, working with various fashion brands and sponsors. You had kept a collection on various magazines with him on the cover, just you had done in the Devildom. Adding a bit more boost to his ego. And without his need for greed, along with the reality of how finances in the human world worked, he was quick to pick up on saving and when to spend.
Though he kept forgetting that he was a human, so you had to keep reminding him. The reactions and looks of the other models also did the job. He still called you his human when it was just you two, it still gave him butterflies when you always responded to his little pet name for you.
Of course, he was forever grateful for the love and kindness you unconditionally showered upon him.
The Royals and the Purgatory Trio were constantly in contact with you and Mammon and would visit often. Whenever they could, they’d visit you whenever you and Mammon needed anything. You and Mammon did get occasional gifts and food from both the Devildom and Celestial Realm. And Solomon and yourself did keep up in your training in magic, and as well as Solomon helped Mammon with spells as well.
You had also kept in constant contact with Angel, just to make sure they didn’t bury themselves in guilt after the fallout from the brothers. Video chats between you both were often as you’d both update each other on what was going on in your lives. The times that they did manage to visit you, lost time was made up between them, yourself, and Mammon.
“We’re here!” You exclaimed as you excitedly got out of the passenger side of Mammon’s car, the driver quickly parking the car out in the driveway. “Oi! MC! ‘Ang on!” Mammon called after you as you went up to the house you both had chosen together.
Your mom’s country house stood before you as you smiled fondly at the childhood memories that were still instilled in your now new home. Now you were ready to make new ones with Mammon. “We’re home!” You cry out as Mammon huffs as he brought out some of your belongings. ”
“You know Mams, we could have picked Mom’s cabin out in the woods.” You remind him as you rubbed your chin, “Though that doesn’t sound like a bad getaway if we want to have a change of pace.” The sound of luggage immediately dropping told you all you needed to know about your partner.
“Oh hell no!” Mammon cries out as he quickly ran to you as if you really intended to drag him to the cabin, “Don’t ya know what happens in the couple who goes to the cabin in the woods? Like in tha movies?! Ain’t no way I’m going there! Not no way, not no how!” Mammon finishes with a firm pout, his frown giving him a childish charm.
You gently cup his face as you chuckle softly, “I know. I know. We’ve seen the movies about that many times Mams.” You assure him and pressed your lips to his forehead. “I know you wouldn’t like that. But you did consider Mom’s beach house too you know.”
“Oh yeah! We could have gotten that one!” Mammon whined as a thought suddenly struck him, “Oh hey! We could sell ‘em as DNDs!” he exclaimed as you laughed.
“B&Bs Mams, though I think I’ll talk to mom about it.” You corrected as you looked thoughtful, “Although, it might not be a bad venture for extra income.” You agreed as Mammon beams in delight. For once he didn’t have to hear opposition to his opinions. “It’s a good idea actually.” You state as you give him a kiss on the cheek for it.
You smiled as you noticed his tanned cheeks furiously flush red at your affection, “Oi..Who said you can do that Treasure?” Mammon mumbled as you giggled softly and leaned against his forehead.
A comfortable silence settled between you both as you lovingly gazed into his eyes. Entwining his hands with your’s, Mammon let you take him towards the house you two would share together for the rest of your lives. It was a new beginning for both of you, and you couldn’t wait for what the future would bring for you together.
“Welcome home Mammon. We’re home, just you and me.”
A/N: And there you have it! Thank you all very much for all the support for my first ever series on tumblr! Maybe I will write some bonus stories that will be stories I couldn’t fit in here. Cheers all!

A dynamic that's been hinted at and should be expanded upon in the game, for Today's Topic: Mammon and Michael's Relationship
Warning: Spoilers for Obey Me, mentions of unseen characters, neglect? (Kind of)
-------------------------------------------------------
It's a bit baffling to me that the devs haven't addressed this, but the fans surely have! For better or for worse (mostly worse for Michael tho).
But really, the concept of the brother's previous relationships and what they mean to them now that they're demons, is really fascinating.
We get bits and pieces from Simeon and how he deals with his complicated emotions towards the demons he once called brothers, but that's a topic for another day.
So let's break down what we know about Michael the Archangel:
Michael is the leader of the Celestial Realm's legion of angels.
He was described as Lucifer's "twin," having been very close to one another.
During his early life in the Celestial Realm, Mammon was once the little brother of Michael.
According to Asmodeus in Lesson 27-19, Michael couldn't handle/didn't know how to deal with Mammon, and as such, Lucifer had taken Mammon under his care.
Tumblr media
Michael himself has been described as "too upfront about his desires," and places unreasonable responsibilities and tasks upon the people who work under him.
However, many of those same angels respect him and see him as a good person.
Both Mammon and Raphael view him as "weird" and "socially inept."
Many of Luke and Simeon's tasks to Michael, according to the chats, are to find and bring him sweets. He apparently has pretty lavish tastes.
Luke has stated repeatedly that Michael is one of his mentors and reports directly to him.
And according to Simeon, Michael is "calm, yet stern" when he is angry, and he prefers to talk things out as opposed to physical discipline.
Now, as fun as it would be for Michael to be this extremely cold, two-faced perfectionist that tormented Mammon during his younger days in the Celestial Realm, bringing this moral dilemma about how angels are not always the "pure and virtuous" beings we all see them as, I'm sad to say that that's not what we got here (rip fanfic writers).
But really, game Michael is far different than the absolute bastard people write him as. And that in and of itself, intrigues me.
So how did Michael treat Mammon during their time together?
Now, seeing as Michael has a tendency to thrust work onto other people, you would think that would serve as an aspect as to why Mammon was removed from him. But I don't think that was the case.
Think about it, despite how he might complain, Mammon DOES enjoy working. Whether that be physically: finding jobs to pay off his debt, to help someone, or to buy MC something as a gift, or mentally: keeping tabs on his family's emotional states; Mammon can and will get stuff done when he puts his mind to it.
And Mammon most definitely will learn and help all that he can when it comes to the people closest to him, so what was the issue?
Well, according to Mammon himself:
Tumblr media
Not exactly the most respectful image Michael nor Raphael had of Mammon, right?
I'm sure that we all can picture Mammon as a rambunctious little tyke who the elder angels had trouble "controlling."
With that in mind, Michael most likely didn't have much faith in Mammon's ability to help him either. As a brother, nor a protégé.
So I'm willing to bet that Michael wouldn't let Mammon do much, or try to distract him with menial tasks that Mammon knew were not important.
Imagine how insulting that would be for Mammon. The guy who pushes work on other people, won't trust you with helping him out. Willingly. Ouch...
This would only spur Mammon on even further to misbehave and get into trouble, possibly for attention.
Which is an interesting contrast to Lucifer.
Because despite how reckless and irresponsible Mammon admittedly is, Lucifer trusts him the most out of all of their brothers to help him.
Yes, Lucifer is the guy who insists on doing everything by himself most of the time, but even he can't do everything.
And I think that was a part of why Mammon accepted Lucifer instead of Michael, aside from admiration that is: Trust.
As Mammon said, Lucifer saw the potential in Mammon, brought him up to be one of the greatest warriors and/or angels in the ENTIRE Celestial Realm. So much so, that Mammon even became Lucifer's official assistant.
That, and the fact that Mammon witnessed Michael push most of his responsibilities onto other people, would draw Mammon towards the ever-reliant Lucifer.
Lucifer inspired and trusted Mammon far more than Michael ever could. Michael only saw him as a troublemaker, and Mammon recognizes and appreciates Lucifer for seeing that there was more to him than that.
Now, as for Mammon's feelings about Michael, I don't believe that Mammon holds any ill-will towards him, but he's not exactly thrilled about talking about him either.
When Michael is brought up by either Luke or MC, Mammon becomes slightly uncomfortable. I mean, who can blame him?
As much as the idea of Michael being an all around bad guy is very far-fetched, I can imagine Michael hurting Mammon in a few ways. It wouldn't be on purpose, but it would add a bit more motivation for Mammon to favor Lucifer over Michael.
Aside from Michael not trusting Mammon, either physically, emotionally, or both, I can imagine a scenario in which Mammon had overheard his then-older brother venting to Raphael or Lucifer about him.
We all know how emotional Mammon can get, and I'm sure his younger, angelic self was no exception.
Can you imagine how devastating that would be for a young child to hear their older brother complain to his friends about him? That would be soul crushing!
This would play into the two-faced concept of Michael that the fans are attached to. Sure, Michael can be a fairly good person, but he IS the type to bad mouth the people he doesn't like or has problems with, in private.
This in contrast to Lucifer, Mammon, and quite frankly, all of the brothers, who are very blunt and upfront about how they feel about someone.
Thus, would end Mammon's ability to rely on Michael and their brotherhood.
HOWEVER! That doesn't mean that Michael doesn't still care about Mammon!
Luke has mentioned to MC before that Michael does, in fact, miss Mammon, Lucifer, and the others. To the point where he has collected all of their past belongings, including but not limited to, Lucifer's ring.
Tumblr media
Once again, a topic for another day, but Michael's feelings over what happened could prove to be interesting.
Simeon himself reminisces over losing his family, and Michael has proven to be the same in his own way.
The situation over Lilith's ordered execution and the battles that followed suit was conflicting on both sides.
Michael, Simeon, Raphael, and the other angels may have won the war, but they lost a lot.
But I do remain adamant that Michael and Raphael overcompensate that guilt by establishing to the angels at the time that the rules are the rules. And by winning the war, it was seen as their proof that violating those rules would have dire consequences.
Which could play into yet another reason Mammon didn't get along with Michael at the time: Michael could never see the bigger picture.
Michael never fought for anything other than the order for the Celestial Realm. Yes, Lucifer was similar in that regard, but he would never turn his back on something he believed was wrong or right. Especially for family.
You could do so much with these ideas! The stories, character development, and histories are endless!
Sadly though, I'm not confident that the writers of Obey Me would give Mammon the space to talk about his experience with Michael or his younger years as an angel anytime soon. But I guess we'll just have to see about Michael when he gets here, won't we?
Author's Note: Hopefully, I did a decent job at explaining my thoughts here! If I add any more details to this, don't be surprised. As you can see, I was very passionate about this topic.
I do wonder what Michael will look and act like in the game. I know that he's probably going to be a love interest, but I honestly hope he isn't. I know Obey Me is an otome game, but we can at least have a few characters that aren't romancable.
Reading fanfics about Mammon and Michael is really interesting! Almost all of them paint Michael as this abusive authority figure to Mammon, and how this abuse seems to continue into present-day with Lucifer and all of his over the top punishments. Again, I've only scratched the surface on this topic. Many people have different views on Michael already, and we haven't even physically met the guy! Sorry Michael! :(
With all of that being said, thank you all for reading, have a lovely night or day, and I'll see you later! Byeee! 💗

Make A Wish {Mammon}
Tumblr media
Genre: angst, hurt, no comfort
Pairings: Mammon x female!reader
Warnings: mentions of injuries, mentions of war, death, torture
A/n: tbh the way I want to write angst about Mammon is hurting my mental health
Tumblr media
When you had arrived at the Devildom, not once would you have expected that your stay there was going to be far from a pleasurable one.
Mammon was supposed to be the one protecting you, keeping you company, acting as your guardian... not the one to ignore you and barely talk to you unless it was absolutely necessary...
At first you thought it was normal; he was being forced to technically protect you and he had made it very clear that he would very much rather stay in the House of Lamentation receiving insults from his brothers than talk to you.
Lucifer had been the first one to notice it amongst his brothers. He had punished Mammon many times for leaving you alone in the middle of the streets and not helping you get used to life there. Yet, for the first time, Mammon had completely ignored him. In fact, as Beel had once said, he would rather get punished than spend time with you.
You tried talking to his brothers, asking them about Mammon’s behaviour towards you. They had all denied knowing anything and they had sworn on their pacts with you so of course you knew they were being sincere.
  But you had enough.
After abandoning you near an ice cream shop, Mammon was tasked with washing the dishes for the rest of the decade and knowing Beel’s habits, you were more than sure that those dishes were a lot. So, naturally, he would be spending a lot of the time in the kitchen, right? And after Lucifer’s spell, he wouldn’t even be able to leave the kitchen unless he finished washing every single glass and plate there.
A week had passed and after passing a couple of times from the kitchen after dinner you noticed one thing. Mammon would always keep a glass of water next to him while doing his task. And you took your chance.
Mere seconds after dinner had ended, you excused yourself and headed towards the kitchen. After making sure that no one had followed you, you found the specific glass Mammon would use; it was already full -the demon wanted to make his life as simple as possible so he had filled it in advance, you knew that. Not having enough time, you casted a quick spell, one that coincidentally had been taught in spells’ class the previous day: a truth spell.
Hearing the loud laughter coming from Asmo and the rest of the brothers you knew that you had to leave the kitchen. And so you did.
Fifteen minutes passed and you ran down the staircase that led to the ground floor of the House of Lamentation. In a matter of seconds you were in the kitchen. You opened the door without saying a word and walked over to the wooden cabinet where they kept the snacks. Surely enough, Mammon was there doing the dishes as per usual.
Unfortunately, you couldn’t go close to him and check the glass of water so you decided to risk it.
“Have I done something to you?” If he had drunk the water then he would answer…right?
“You look like someone I used to know.” Mammon responded almost immediately, not looking away from the sink.
“And is that a bad thing?”
  “Yes.”
You gulped, not knowing what to ask next. “Tell me about it.” You knew that what you were doing wasn’t right. You were in a way forcing him to tell you a story he wouldn’t have under different circumstances.
“She was a friend of my sister… back in the Celestial Realm. They didn’t hang out a lot since she was considered… tainted. And she was mostly kept in solitary confinement.”
  “Why?”
“She was a Nephalem; half angel, half demon. She was considered dangerous but Father refused to send her away to the Devildom since she was considered a powerful weapon in case of a war.” He paused and took the glass with the enchanted water and spilled the liquid in the sink. Your eyes widened when you understood he hadn’t taken a single sip from it. “One time, I was curious so I followed Lilith and that was when I saw her… Lilith had no problem with me hanging out with her as long as I didn’t tell anyone. You see… she wasn’t supposed to accept visitors but then again, no one was guarding her.”
It didn’t take you long to understand how Mammon’s speech and choice of words were different.
“We began hanging out. At first I would only go when Lilith was there but after a while I started going alone. We weren’t doing anything special, just talked and talked until I had to leave. And then the war came… I asked her to be on our side and she accepted but… I suppose Michael was one step ahead. That son of a bitch always is. Do you know how they capture a Nephalem?”
Mammon wiped his hands clean and set the towel aside. He walked towards the table, you had taken a seat at one of the chairs. Your gaze followed his figure as he towered over you.
“Because I don’t. I had fallen when I heard her cries. I don’t know what they did to her, whether she is dead or alive. Most probably that bastard Michael tortured her and left her alone to either heal herself or die.”
Your chair moved a little and that was when you saw Mammon’s tight grip on the side of your chair, his other hand was gripping onto the side of the wooden table. You dared to look in his eyes yet the only thing you found was anger. No, no. It wasn’t anger.
It was rage. Rage and grief.
  “Did you love her?”
“I never stopped.” He mumbled. “As an angel I always thought that if you loved someone you could overcome all sorts of difficulties in life. I’ll tell ya something, human, that’s a cheap lie, one of the cheapest I’ve heard and one of the cheapest I’ve told myself. In the end I couldn’t save her even though I loved her.”
“You don’t know whether she is dead-”
“She is and even if she isn’t, she’ll die soon. Do you know why?”
You did know why and you hated yourself for it. You hated yourself for shaking your head as a sign to tell him that no, you didn’t know. But most importantly you hated yourself because you were forcing him to tell you.
  “Because you are human.”
A tear fell down your cheek but it wasn’t yours.
“I’m sorry I cannot shed more tears for you and please don’t cry. I’ve cried enough for the both of us all those centuries.” His grip on the chair tightened. “He took your wings, your half halo, that fire red colour in your eyes… I don’t wanna know how because I’m sure I will kill him. I just wanna know why. Why did it take Michael and Father so long to take your immortality away?”

Lucifer finds Mam's on his bed
Main masterlist:
Obey me masterlist:
-
Angst a little?
-
Lucifer certainly didn't predict that his younger brother would be in his bed, it did remind me of how before the fall that Mammon would always find comfort in others bed, especially his and Liliths
Lucifer at that moment didn't know what to say, you know the moment when you just feel numb and rethink what happened? Yeah that's what Lucifer was experiencing, as his thoughts were in chaos he didn't notice how he subconsciously had sat down next to his brother and covered him up with a blanket.
At that moment Lucifer felt lost, like a child when you leave them at their own disposal somewhere unfamiliar, the same feeling when they fell he couldn't fathom how Mammon after all this time still chose to stay here even though he had the means to leave
After everything, didn't he resent them? For Lucifer it would have been better to have been resented then knowing his brother chose to stay after all the abuse hurled at him, it would have been not fine, he subconsciously had muttered "I'm so sorry Mammon" if only he could say that to him face to face
Lucifer snapped out from his daze and went to his desk to finish his paperwork... After all it's better then to think about it

Mammon's plans never work out, do they? (2/2)
no next part, this is the last part i'll make for this
Slowly breathing in and out, Mammon's eyes opened slightly, waking up from his slumber. Pursing his lips, he sat up well, tried. The twins were hugging him tightly. Sighing, he shoved their arms off rather roughly and sat up.
Getting off the bed, he patted his jacket. There wasn't any dust. He just felt like he should do that. Looking back at the bed, he saw that they all squeezed into one bed and he was in the middle of it.
Sighing, he went to the other bed and took a pillow. Placing the pillow in the spot he was before, he could see Belphegor clutching onto the pillow as if he feared the loss of comfort.
He held a fond expression, looking at the sight. 'It feels weird doing this again..' He thought, feeling a bit nostalgic. If he remembered correctly, he would always do this whenever the twins would be too terrified to sleep alone.
'It.. feels good. As if 'm still an older brother to them again.' A ghost of a smile appeared on his face, before shaking his head. He needed to go. Well- wanted. He wasn't sure what to do.
How much time has even passed?
Should leaving be his top priority?
But.. What if they tampered with something?
He heard them before… speaking about using their magic to keep him here...
Surely it was just a joke.
But.. knowing how affected they were by a family member's death…
Gulping, he twisted the doorknob to reveal… well, the hallways of course. The light startled him, as the twins decided to close all the lamps and such. To be truthful, Mammon only really wanted to leave because he was a bit…. scared of the dark.
It was childish, so what?! Mammon didn't even get to have a proper childhood! Stupid acting all perfect or you're getting locked in the basement rule...
Adjusting his eyes to the light, he observed the dimly lit hallways. 'Is it late?' He asked himself, furrowing his brows as he didn't know what was going on. 'Oh yeah, I can just use my D.D.D.' He nearly face-palmed. Of course.
He reached into his pocket, feeling the smooth surface of the case of his D.D.D. Opening it, he was shocked to see a lot of calls and notifications. 'I'll read their messages.' Mammon told himself.
Fumbling around with his D.D.D, he clicked the notifications from Lucifer as it had the least.
-
Yesterday
Lucifer
Where are you?
Lucifer
I can't track you. Where are you?
You aren't reading the messages.
Mammon.
Lucifer
Are you out at a bar?
No, I would see your location.
Where are you, Mammon?
Lucifer
This isn't funny.
Getting a search party would be a complete waste of time.
Don't disappoint Lord Diavolo.
Today
Lucifer
I decided to send a search party yesterday and then slept.
Come back already, Mammon.
Lucifer
They searched everywhere.
They couldn't find you.
Where are you?
Lucifer
Come back.
I'll search for you later as well.
Perhaps I can find something that others could not.
I am an Avatar, after all.
-
'I went missing but he's still as prideful as ever, that damn Lucifer.' Mammon cursed in his head, sighing. He wasn't in the mood to look at the other messages because this immediately dampened his mood.
Clicking on the box where you put your message, he typed up a quick message to Lucifer. Clicking the reply button... Well, he couldn't. There wasn't a reply button.
He could receive messages, but he couldn't send them. What type of logic was that?
I mean sure, no one wants some demon lords to go to another universe to rescue their brother. But still, just blacklist him from saying the words 'universe', 'timeline', 'dimension', etcetera!
Shaking his head, he didn't even bother to try and call him back. 'Eh, probably won't work as well!' He scorned, lips curling into a frown.
"Whateva', It's 1 in the morning." Groaning, he put his phone back into his pocket and walked around. "I wonder what time it was when I arrived here?" He hummed.
Walking around for a bit, he stopped at a door.
'I'm bored..'
Okay, he didn't expect this place to be boring. It genuinely felt colorless! It made him want to watch the paint dry, it would be more entertaining than this. Whatever, it was probably because it was 1 AM.
Looking at the door he was next to, he recognized it as Lucifer's door. 'Wonder if he's awake right now? I swear if he's overworking himself again..' He scowled.
He was about to twist the doorknob to check before the door opened for him. He flinched, looking at the black-haired demon in front of him. The door creaked towards the side, nothing except themselves in front of them now.
"Mammon." The loud, booming voice made Mammon sweatdrop, though he did absolutely nothing wrong. Avoiding his eyes, the white-haired demon spoke.
"I just woke up, ya know? Didn't exactly plan to be awake at 1.." He grinned, resting his palm on the back of his head. 'Damnit, I feel my energy depleting already. But.. why? I just slept.' He could've groaned, but he was in front of Lucifer. Perhaps later.
Lucifer sighed, staring at the white-haired demon. 'He's avoiding my eyes..' He frowned. "Ma-" He began, before getting cut off. "Luci.. ya aren't overworking yourself again, right?" Mammon asked, looking at the demon in worry.
'E-Eh- Why did I say what was on my mind?! He's gonna yell at me, isn't he?!' Mammon cried to himself, mentally preparing to get shouted at.
A few moments passed, and Mammon opened his eyes and glanced at Lucifer, who held a fond expression. Question marks floating around Mammon, he popped them all.
"Eh... Luci?" He felt a little awkward, he stood there with his head down and his eyes closed for a few minutes. It was embarrassing, to say the least.
Lucifer flinched and shook himself out of his trance. "Ah... Apologies, I'm not thinking straight at this hour." He coughed, looking away. 'That was embarrassing. I was reminiscing about the times he forced his way into my room to help me sleep and stop overworking.' His ears were tinted red, showing embarrassment.
"Eh? It's fine, I guess." He hummed, glancing again at the dim hallway and looking back at the Avatar of Pride. "Why are you awake?" Lucifer asked. "Just bored," Mammon spoke casually before his eyes widened.
'Speaking casually to Lucifer and him accepting it? Is this a lucid dream? I mean, this is an alternate universe or whatever so I guess I understand.' He thought to himself.
"Would you.." Lucifer began, before trailing off. Mammon raised an eyebrow, and Lucifer's ears got redder. (AGAIN, out of embarrassment. This book is purely platonic and everyone knows it, but I just wanna clarify in case you don't know.) "I need to rest. Goodbye." Lucifer said, closing the door.
Mammon stared at the door, disbelief written on his features. 'Damnit! I'm curious now. What in Celestia did he want to say?' He scoffed, looking at the wooden entrance and exit.
He sighed, walking off. Meanwhile, Lucifer was slapping himself mentally. Did he seriously stop himself from inviting Mammon to his room because of his pride?
Even for his dear younger brother, it seemed as if he couldn't do anything. 'Truthfully, it would be weird for me to ask him to come here. What can he do? Sleep? He just did.' He reasoned with himself.
'Yet..' He stared at the closed door. 'If our family was simply alone with nobody interrupting our precious time..' He pursed his lips.
'Perhaps I would prefer that.'
-
Walking down the hallway, the Avatar of Greed passed the other two doors. His room, (Which was strangely locked) and Leviathan's room. He then realized there was light coming from the cracks of the room. He walked back to Levi's room.
'Why am I still tired?' He asked himself, sighing. 'I'm not as tired as before, but still. Is this what Belphie feels every day?' He asked himself, before looking at the younger's door.
'Damnit, I never memorized the code.' He huffed. Well, might as well kick the door open. Using force, he kicked the door open. As he did that, he felt strangely a bit weaker. He didn't ponder on that.
"Wha- Who the hell- Mammon?!" Leviathan exclaimed in surprise, staring at the older. "Yo." Mammon waved. "Why do you look tired? Did you even sleep with Belphie and Beel or what?!" Leviathan asked, trying to mask his worry with annoyance.
"I did." Mammon nodded. "Must be a side effect of dimension traveling. If anime taught me anything, it's that everything has side effects." Leviathan hummed, before sighing. "Just get in, I knew that the second you showed up you would stir up trouble for me." He rolled his eyes.
'Ugh, I can't act all cringy and nice to him. Only normies do that! Even though I do miss him a lot... Whatever! He'd tease you anyway!' Leviathan huffed, scowling.
Mammon walked inside the room, looking at the system with the 'pause' screen. It seems like he was playing a game about an Italian plumber. What was it called again? It's pretty popular, and it was on the Deviltendo Switch, which Leviathan bought.
"I'm playing Super Plumbing Simulator. You can join, just don't mess my gameplay up with your trash gaming skills. You also have to play as Luigi cause I'm not letting you touch my account. I still have the account you made, use that one." Leviathan said.
Mammon nodded, sitting down next to the system. Leviathan took an extra controller and passed it to Mammon, who caught it.
Truthfully, Leviathan was excited. Finally, he can play with his older brother. Plus, they were alone! Nothing can disturb them. Sure, Mammon's skills suck ass, but Leviathan managed to save beforehand anyway. He can just replay that part again.
"In this game, you play as Mario, an Italian plumber who goes through wacky adventures while trying his best to keep his tough job," Leviathan explained, looking over at Mammon and explaining the controls as well.
"So this is how you do it.."
They laughed, cheered, and smiled while playing the game. Though Mammon did it rather weakly, he still felt warm and mushy inside.
"You have to press that button, and I'll pull this lever-" Leviathan began to say, before feeling a heavy weight on his shoulder. "Ow.." He winced and looked at Mammon.
His head was on his shoulder, his soft white hair poking Leviathan's ear. "So, his eyes finally gave up?" Leviathan shook his head, chuckling a bit.
He put Mammon's head on the floor and stood up. Taking two pillows and a blanket, he put one under Mammon's head and one beside Mammon's pillow. After all, he couldn't carry him.
Saving and closing his progress and the Deviltendo switch, he took the blanket and put it on Mammon. He also put the controllers in a safe spot. He didn't want them to get damaged.
He sure was lucky he put a carpet there. I mean, he slept there sometimes as well, so he didn't want his head slowly dropping to the cold hard floor and getting brain damage.
Finally, he laid his head down on the pillow he put. Taking the blanket and shuffling under it as well, he closed his eyes with a warm smile on his face.
He could get used to this.
-
Mammon woke up, but with his arms wrapped around a demon's neck and him being behind the demon instead of his head on Leviathan's shoulder. 'Deja vu?' Mammon questioned in his mind. "Beel?" Mammon looked at the orange hair and immediately knew who it was.
"Oh... Hi, Mammon." Beelzebub set Mammon down, against his better judgment. "Why were ya carrying me?" Mammon asked, now walking side by side with Beelzebub.
"Leviathan woke up and told me your energy strangely drains quickly as if you were using mana 24/7, so we needed to ask Satan about it," Beelzebub explained, looking at Mammon. "You were still asleep, so I carried you." He said.
"Eh?.." Mammon was surprised. "Well.. ya shouldn't question it. 'm sure it's just a side effect." He pursed his lips. "If it's something bad.. what if we lose you again?.." Beelzebub frowned.
Widening his eyes, Mammon stopped. He looked at Beelzebub and smiled a bit. 'Maybe they care about me..' He thought, the thought making his insides gooey.
"Mammon?" Beelzebub looked back and saw Mammon smiling. Mammon flinched and caught up with Beelzebub, who was smiling at him.
"I'm glad you're happy here.. You were smiling." Beelzebub grinned, happy at that revelation. "Maybe you can stay here forever. You'll be happy, I promise." He told the other.
'I- I shouldn't.. but why is it so tempting? Why can't I refuse it?' The white-haired demon thought, looking down. "Let's go to Satan first, aight?" He smiled at Beelzebub.
Beelzebub nodded. "Yes. We shouldn't let you get hurt." He said and picked up the pace. Of course, Mammon being the fastest could easily catch up with him.
Finally, they reached Satan's room. It seems like Beelzebub was running from the dining room to Satan's room. Understandable. To think of it, Mammon never really ate yet...
The orange-haired demon knocked on the door, and it was opened by Satan. "What happened?" The yellow-haired demon was holding a book about dimensions.
"I want to ask you a question," Beelzebub said. "Hm. It's about Mammon's situation, isn't it?" Satan hummed, glancing at the Avatar of Greed who was behind the Avatar of Gluttony, who nodded.
"Come in. You too, Mammon." He walked back into his room and invited the two in. Well, the two walked in. "So, what is it?" He took a bookmark and put it inside the book, closing it.
"Well.." Beelzebub looked at Mammon, before looking at Satan. "Do you know why Mammon's energy seems to drain?" He asked, furrowing his brows.
"Hm.." Satan hummed. Suddenly, his eyes widened. "Ah, I understand now." He sighed. "Eh?" Mammon asked. "Yes, I do." He said.
"It's nothing bad, don't worry. It's just that since you aren't from this dimension, your mana or energy has to keep you alive automatically. If you exert more force, more energy is used." Satan explained.
"Wha- How is that nothing bad? What if I randomly pass out at some moments?" Mammon panicked. "We can make you a part of this universe, or lend you some of our mana," Satan smirked.
Mammon flinched, staring at the demon with disbelief. 'Is that why my greed doesn't seem as strong as before?! It's because the thing that usually powers my greed is getting drained!' Mammon thought.
"But- I need to get back to my dimension!" Mammon exclaimed. The temperature in the room dropped. 'Thank Celestia I'm a demon heater.' He sighed.
"Why would you want to go back?" Beelzebub asked, staring at the demon. "Well.." He hesitated, but whatever. He can't be a failure again...
"What if I mess something up? What if I do something wrong again? I always mess things up and I'm always a disappointment." It was rare for him to vent out his feelings like this. Is he getting attached?
"Mammon.." Beelzebub sadly looked at him. "Mammon.. you aren't a disappointment." Satan reasoned. "We never appreciated you enough when you were alive." He frowned.
"When you died.. we finally realized that we were all assholes to you and that we needed you." Satan sighed. Mammon was silent, and...
drip, drip.
Tears were falling down his face.
That's all he wanted to hear.
That he was appreciated and needed...
That he was loved.
Mammon rubbed his eyes, a stupid grin on his face. "Heh.. ya mean it?" He asked because it felt like a dream. Satan smiled back.
"Yes. Yes, we do."
-
He sat in the dining room eating lunch. Beelzebub carried him to the dining room because he didn't eat yet. "Oh right, we have a new D.D.D for you." Beelzebub perked up.
"Eh? Why?" Mammon raised a brow. "Leviathan accidentally stepped on your D.D.D when you were sleeping. Here you go." Beelzebub stood up and gave Mammon the demonized phone.
"Oh, uh.. thanks." Mammon pursed his lips and had a ghost of a smile on his face.
It felt like the celestial realm.
Yet Mammon forgot one thing.
He wasn't in the celestial realm, but the devildom.
And in the devildom...
There's the Avatar of Pride that believes that you are his pride.
There's the Avatar of Envy that only wants you, him, and the rest of the brothers to be together. Nobody else.
There's the Avatar of Wrath that will destroy everyone and everything in his path if it's for you.
There's the Avatar of Lust that wants your attention on him and the rest of his brothers ONLY.
There's the Avatar of Gluttony that's especially hungry for your affection and love.
There's the Avatar of Sloth that will make your dreams about them and them only.
And finally...
There's you, the Avatar of Greed who's greedy for validation and appreciation.

I have no title for this
A/N: I am continuing this, also sorry if any of the characters are ooc.
Mammon sighed, dragging his hand down his face as he replayed what happened earlier.
The faces of his so called brothers when he announced he disowned and hated was something he never imagined, then again he never imaged he would say anything like that either.
He was in the castle’s gardens, the perfect place to get away from the scene he caused. Normally, Lucifer would have threaten a punishment when they get home-
He inhaled deeply, reminding himself he doesn’t live with them anymore.
“Mammon?”
He peeked through his fingers, MC stood there sporting a worried look on their face.
“I ain’t apologizing to them, if that’s what yer thinking.” He leered, bringing his hand down to glare at the human.
“I wasn’t going to.” The demon huffed.
“So what is it?” The human sighed and sat next to him.
“I just wanted to make sure your okay."
"Well I’m okay, so go back to the party. I’m pretty sure the brothers are probably looking for you.”
MC winced at how he said brothers, especially when it didn’t include him.
“I doubt it, Solomon and Simeon are comforting Asmo and Belphie. Luke is calming down Levi and the rest of them seemed to be in a daze. Especially Lucifer.”
Huh? So Mr. stick-stuck-in-my-ass had nothing to say to him? Good.
“Mammon..”
“Hmm?”
“You…you’ll staying in Purgatory Hall permanently?” It wasn’t a question. They knew his decision they just wanted confirmation.
“Yeah. He answered. "I will.”
“I’m finally free from the bullying and feel appreciated. Plus, Simeon handles me better than Lucifer.”
MC hums at that part, it was true. Ever since Mammon stayed in Purgatory hall he’s been improving a lot, his grades were decent and he started to steal less cause Luke would tend to scold him but never like his brothers.
“I…I really don’t want to forgive them. After the fall they had so much anger within them that I was afraid they’ll kill each other, I thought being the the family punching bag was good way to release their anger and I thought it would be temporary.”
He let out a bitter laugh.
“Well that was a fucking mistake.”
MC frowned heavily and wondered if it was better for the boys to take their anger on each other.
“I finally have the guts to stand my ground after giving them eons of second chances.”
His face contorts into determination.
“I ain’t the family butt monkey anymore. If they want my forgiveness then they better forget it, I’m sick of their shit. The only good things ever since the fall was was you. If I’ve known this was how I would be treated, I would left a long time ago.”
Silenced
It took a while but the words finally sunk in Mammon’s brain and his face burned. MC smiled.
“O-Oi! What’s with that face?!”
“Oh, nothing~”
“Then stop smiling!”
MC giggled and brought him in hug, he stiffen from the contact but slowly returned it.
Yeah. being stuck listening how much his brothers thinks his worthless was horrible but it was worth it to meet his favorite human.
“You better visit me every chance you get.”
“Of course, Great Mammon.”

Solomon rubbed circles on Asmo’s back as he sobbed while Simeon patted Belphie’s head as the demon silently cried on his chest.
Lord Diavolo managed to do damage control and had Barbatos guide them to a guest room once they sorted through their emotions. But it might take a while, seeing how much emotional damage Mammon cause them.
Luke managed to get Levi to calm down and right now he’s curled into a fetal position in the corner of the room, Satan was sitting on the bed with a wistful look in his eyes, as if recalling something. Beel was next to him, he had a despondent expression on his face.
Simeon glanced to the oldest in the far side of the room, Lucifer’s back was turn from them but he can see the tension in his shoulders.
He can tell he was most affected by this.
Simeon frowned, he knew what direction the brothers' treatment of Mammon lead, if he knew that it was this bad he would have stepped in and tried to mediate it.
But the damage is done.
"I failed him."
Huh?
It was barely above a whisper, but Simeon still heard it. Lucifer’s shoulders were shaking, but his back was still facing them.
“I failed him…WE failed him.”
“You all failed him a long time ago”
The brothers flinched and Solomon and Simeon gave the little angel a pointed look, now was not the time for criticism. Luke just glared back.
“What? It’s the truth.”
“Luke.” Simeon warned. “Now is not the time for that.”
“Simeon, you heard what Mammon said. They abused enough to make him finally hate them, and honestly it’s long over due and well deserved.”
Asmo sobbed harder at that, Belphie hugged Simeon tighter.
“Can…Can we fix this?”
Out of all the brothers, Beel felt the most shame, he was the protector of the family and a family man, he loved them all so much. Now his family was crumbling before his eyes because he didn't step in more and let Mammon know he is loved.
Solomon bit his lower lip before answering.
"I'm...Not entirely sure."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Levi finally sat up and glared at the sorcerer. Solomon sighed.
"From his choice of words and how heated they are, there is a low chance of Mammon talking to any of you, much less forgive you."
Silence engulfed the room once more, sans the fourth and seventh borns' sobs.
"Well, then we have to keep trying until he's willing to hear us." Satan finally spoke up after long period of silence. His lips were formed in a thin line but the remained steady contact with the angel and sorcerer.
"That's...That's right." Asmo sniffed, wiping his eyes.
"Asmo...." Solomon started but the demon continued.
"I love Mammon, I really do." The champagne haired male confessed. "I just get jealous of his attention, that's why I'm mean to him."
"Then tell it to his face." Luke snapped, with a heated glare.
"Should we plan first?" Belphie's voice was quiet but still audible for them.
Finally, Lucifer faced the others. His eyes were red and bit wet. This is the first time some of them saw Lucifer like this. For his brothers however it was the second time, the first was the death of Lilith.
"I refuse to lose another sibling."
__________________________
For the past two weeks, the brothers did everything they can to Mammon to talk to them. Unfortunately, Mammon avoided them even more after what transpired in the party, making them use more drastic matters for his attention.
For one, paying his debts from the witches. The witches themselves were surprised, but accepted it. Satan and Asmo thought it was the end of it until they overheard them saying they still plan to use Mammon and exploit him due to how worthless he is.
They were soon made an example to other witches if they ever want to mess with their older brother, not unless they wish to be teared from the inside too.
They asked Simeon on how Mammon reacted when he heard about his debt paid to them.
“He was surprised but suspicious.”
Okay, that was understandable.
When asked he wanted to talk to them, Simeon just gave them a sad look
Looks like they have to go to plan B.
Mammon ran his fingers through his hair. Just are those guys planning?
When he heard that not only they paid his debt but killed the witches, he was relieved but remembered it was them.
Just why would they do that? He asked for their helped before, even confiding them about the abuse. But they all brushed him aside and told him he deserved it, truthfully he did but it still hurt how callous they were.
So why now?
Gah! It’s all confusing to him.
Turning a corner, he felt hands on him and dragging him inside a room
“What the fuck!”
He turned to his kidnappers, it was his former brothers. He scowled.
“What do you want?”
They sans Lucifer flinched at his tone which internally satisfied him.
No one spoke, they just shifted around glancing at each other, Mammon scoffed and turned around to go.
“Wait!” Beel’s frantic plea made him stop, he slowly turned back to them, arms crossed.
“Make it quick.” That seemed to calm them down.
“Mammon.” Satan started.
Of course, go with the one who’s best at words.
“We…We want to apologize for our treatment towards you-“
“Way too late for that.” The second born snapped, eyes narrowing dangerously. That earned him another flinch from them.
“We know that, we just want to at least try to earn it.” Asmo confessed.
“Well, none of you deserve it.”
That shocked them all, even Lucifer.
“But me and Satan went to the witches and paid your debt and got rid of them too…”
“And that’s enough for me to forgive the centuries of abuse I went through?” He sneered.
“Well…” Asmo shrunk.
“I told ya about how they treated me, but you all brushed me off and said I deserved it. Sure it was true, but could have at least comfort me instead of making it worse.”
No said anything.
“I am tired of being the only one who has to be punished for my sins! Does Satan get punished for being angry? No! What about Beel? Does he get punished and strung up for eating almost everything? No!”
The said demons flinched at remarks, mostly because it was true.
“I’m the only one who gets punished for acting on my sin! I tried to rein it but every time I do you all just wait for me to mess up!”
Mammon panted hard, each one of their faces in varying degrees of shock. But he wasn’t done.
He turned his attention to Satan, who flinched at his gaze.
“I was the only one who took care of you while everyone else was too busy with their own problems. If it wasn’t for me, you’d be dead.”
The blonde swallowed thickly at the revelation, and judging from everyone else, it was the truth.
“Mammon, look you have every right to be pissed at is, but w-we’re really sorry.” Levi gulped when his older brother’s eyes were at him.
“This whole sorry thing is a joke, not of you are sorry. Yer all just guilty, you don’t care about my feelings, only your guilty conscience.”
“That’s not true!” Belphie denied.
“W-we do love you, y-yes I feel guilty. B-but that’s because I-I love you.” He stammered as tears began to flow in his eyes.
Mammon want to comfort him but he had to remained firm.
“Mammon.” Lucifer began. “What we have done to you terrible, but we are willing to do whatever it takes to earn your forgiveness.”
Mammon almost faltered at that.
Almost.
“I remember you used to promise me you would protect me, Lucifer.”
Confusion was apparent in their faces, he continued.
“You promised you’d protect me from any danger, but guess what? You lied.”
This stunned everyone. Mammon continued.
“All you do is bring me pain, be it physical, emotional or mental. Following was a mistake.”
That shocked them, especially Lucifer.
“Ever since the Fall, I had keep out family afloat while your too busy kissing Diavolo’s ass. I had to be the the punching bag to keep everyone happy.”
“But you didn’t need to be that!” Beel cried, now close to crying.
It was Mammon’s turn to be silent.
“Your right, I didn’t have to a punching bag.”
They glanced at each other in hope. But that was quickly dashed.
“I should have just let you guys kill each other.”
Those words made their blood froze, even more when Mammon glared at them coldly.
“I allowed myself to be the family punching bag cause you all needed let some anger out or you turn to each other. I did that cause I loved you, but I guess that the wrong choice.”
“After all, it would less of a hassle for me in the future.”
By now everyone was nearly in tears.
Turning around, Mammon opened the door.
“Wh-where are you going?”
He didn’t know whose voice is that, he didn’t care.
“To my real family.”
He slammed the door, refusing to listed to their calls to come back.
Mammon can feel the tears run down his face but he wiped them away.
Hate me, just hate me already.
A/N: here ya go. Sorry if this wasn’t what any of you wanted. If you want to do a different ending, go ahead and reblog.

《 I hate and love you 》
PROMPT: “It sucks because I want to hate you, but I can’t.”
Angst, emotional hurt/comfort, confrontation, angst with a happy ending
Mammon-centric, slight demon brothers bashing (it gets SOMEWHAT better I swear on my life as a writer), it might also be ooc so I hope I got it right.
TW: Implied alcohol abuse and mentioned drug usage
His accent also comes and goes and I'm too lazy to fix that lmfao
Tumblr media
Now, Mammon is a strong demon. As the second oldest and second strongest just below Lucifer he is someone powerful and rightfully feared by many demons and humans alike.
He rules over one of the 7 layers of hell and was—still is—Lucifer's right hand man since the beginning of their time.
However, despite the amount of things you hear from demons and humans, the truth behind close doors is something that would completely alter your perception of the 7 princes of hell.
Leviathan himself admits that he could never defeat Mammon in a fight and he's the third oldest.
But because of the fact that Mammon is the second born, powerful and all, he is forced to stay strong. To remain unaffected by the negativity and continue to rule over his part.
Remain unaffected.
Stay strong.
So he does, he lets his brothers feel comfortable enough to hurt his feelings. To tell him he's weak when he's not, to call him scummy, a douchebag, and to kill himself.
His brothers truly love him, no?
He loves all his brothers. He wouldn't swap them for anything, but the real question is would they swap him for anything?
He tries not to think hard about it, he can't show any form of weaknesses. Not even to himself.
Weakness.
He simply will not allow it.
If Lucifer could then why can't he? He's his right hand man, he must always be the great Mammon, otherwise, how would Lucifer feel relaxed and do his own work? Lucifer stands to help them live, Mammon protects his brothers if not from physical harm. That's his duty as the second born.
He was never good at lying so he simply never say anything and quickly changed topic while trying to act as normal as possible, he doesn't want his brothers' pity. Not in the absolute slightest.
But acting like nothing's wrong also meant that he had to take regular emotional beatings from his brothers.
It wouldn't have hurt as much if they weren't brothers, but they were. They knew each other for thousands of years, they've been together through even the darkest times so the amount of hurt it gave Mammon whenever they insulted him was like the fall all over again.
The pain in his heart, the agonizing pain as his head and back grew an extra set of body part was incomparable to hearing them say derogatory words towards him.
He was the one that swallowed his own feelings to take care of his brothers when they first fell.
He took care of Lucifer when his Pride wouldn't let him rest.
He stayed awake with Leviathan when his insomnia gets the best of him.
He helped Satan sneak in some cats and took the blame for it.
He made sure Asmodeus didn't get any disease from his outings every night.
He made sure Beelzebub is always fed but not overfed.
He was the one that brought Belphegor back to his room when Beelzebub wasn't home.
He took care of them when their body couldn't stomach the hellish food, he made sure they ate something to tide the hunger.
He made sure they slept when the nightmares were too awake for their liking.
He made sure they were healthy, happy, and safe when no one else could.
He did the dirty work when no one liked them.
How was that any fair to him? Sure they didn't ask for it but he still did it anyways, he made sure to keep them alive and well to survive.
He would have done so anyways even if it wasn't needed.
He loves his brothers after all.
The alcohol intoxicated his head, it flowed throughout his body and it felt like he was flying.
Mammon rarely ever gets drunk you see and because of that, he's a lightweight but not as much as Belphegor and the others. Compared to Asmodeus and Lucifer he definitely is a lightweight.
He comes home drunk with a bottle of Demonous in hand, he drank 3 whole bottles which is way past his usual limit.
He rarely gets drunk because of his modeling gig.
His headaches get so bad with flashing lights and he's very irritable which won't be good if demons started avoiding him, he needs money too.
What time was it? He didn't have his phone with him.
He practically breaks down the door if only it wasn't already opened to begin with, as if someone was waiting for him to come home.
"Mammon."
He lifts his head up, "....Hah?" He slurs.
Lucifer sighs, "You promised to come home early tonight for family movie night. Why are you drunk? And it's an hour past 'early'."
Mammon frowns. He stumbles when he walks in and pushes past Lucifer then down to the common room.
"Mammon!" He ignored his brother's call.
He gulps the last of the Demonous and throws it across the hall, shattering the glass into millions.
He didn't know what he was doing.
His body burned with alcohol and some sort of drug that helps him get high and completely forget about it all, he didn't want to do it but it just felt so enticing.
He didn't notice how his brothers flinched at the shattering of glass.
His eyes were gold, all previous self control be damned.
"Mammon, are you... Drunk?" Satan frowned, he wasn't a huge fan of drinking. He hated the scent of alcohol and Belphegor could relate too but his twin sometimes drinks and it helps him fall asleep faster.
"'m not drunk!" He slurs, he was louder than usual which was a sign itself.
"Are you high?" Asmodeus would know.
"No!"
"You are." Lucifer sounded angry, but Mammon wasn't really Mammon at the moment.
"I said, 'm not drunk." He walks up to the eldest and glares.
"You're so hostile, you're not usually like this Mammon." Leviathan scans the older demon cautiously, as if he would pounce at any given moment.
"Me? 'm always like this! What do ya mean!?"
"You're usually loud and arrogant, scummy and very stupid but right now you're neither of those things other than loud." Belphegor continued.
"...Haaah? Who're ya callin' arrogant and stupid?" Mammon was quick to stand straight, ready to let out his wings and show who's dominant but Lucifer stands in between as if trying to tell Mammon not to do something he'll definitely regret.
"You're drunk and intoxicated, let's go to bed."
"Shaddup! Ya act so high and mighty when yer really just the same as all of us so quit actin' like yer the boss of me!" Mammon does not move however.
Lucifer stumbles very slightly, "Excuse me? Who are you talking to?"
"Obviously you, who else would I be talkin' to?"
"You're so snappy today..." Beelzebub mumbled to no one in particular, he does his best not to be heard. He is powerful and incredibly buff but even then he still can't beat Mammon in a fight so if a fight were to break loose, his main priority would be Belphegor's safety, seeing as he is the weakest of them all, and getting Mammon to calm down.
Luckily, Mammon was too angry to hear Beelzebub.
"You're bold when you're drunk Mammon." Lucifer was in his demon form.
Mammon should be cowering in fear and yet he is standing tall with his own demon form out, "Woah woah woah! You two calm down!" Asmodeus leaps in between them.
"Satan! Help!" Asmodeus was panicking, he had never seen them fight before.
"Quit it you two! Mammon, do you know why we treat you the way we do? It's because of your shit attitude! You get so snappy at the smallest things and blame us for it." Satan couldn't stand it anymore.
"Oh so yer blamin' me for the shit I didn't even want? Callin' me names and makin' fun of me? Ya haven't seen shit so quit actin' like yer innocent! How is it any fair that I get to be the center of the blame? I never get to indulge in my sin like yall without getting hung upside down for it!"
"Your sin is expensive and it causes me trouble, it's not easy having to clean up the mess you made and try to sweep it under the rug to keep your pristine reputation as a prince of hell!"
"My reputation is my greed. As long as I keep takin' and losin' it all then everyone shouldn't raise a brow if I suddenly get killed for it plus, I can't control it! I am a demon, Lucifer. Ya should understand the best! Yer stupid pride just won't admit the fact that yer wrong, plus, Beelzebub is just as expensive as I am! He destroyed an entire restaurant because they had nothin' more to serve, ya think he's cheap? Ya really gotta redefine your version of 'cheap'."
"How does taking everything you own and losing it all apply to your reputation? Your logic makes little sense." Asmodeus rolls his eyes at his older brother, half aware of what he meant.
"If ya keep drinkin' eventually, you'll get drunk and throw up, right? But it's just too good to stop. It's exactly like that for greed. Every demon in Devildom is aware of how I work, but I will stop at nothing to get exactly what I want. I am aware of my shit actions, okay!? And so are you! But I can't help it!"
"You keep yelling like that's gonna help!" Leviathan yelled back at his older brother.
Mammon grits his teeth bitterly, "None of ya understand do ya? Do I gotta spell it out for ya so you'd understand? Do you have any idea how many nights I stay up thinkin' about my own mind and how I hate it here!? Have ya ever wondered why Lucifer hasn't hung any of ya for the shit you guys pull!? Ya think Lucifer would have let you off for stainin' his favorite coat, Satan? Or when Belphie spilled coffee all over his documents that he needed for next week? I fell instead of ya! It ain't fun but I knew how harsh he is, only I can handle him without breakin' but all of ya combined? There's only so much a demon like me can take..."
Mammon holds back tears because that's what he always does, that's all he does anyways. He can't do anything else about it other than to hold back any feelings that could be used against him.
The silence was loud, no one knew what to say.
Lucifer notices the tears.
"Mammon-"
"-Just... Shut up. Please."
They were silent again, eyes strayed away from each other. Suddenly the shattered bottle, the walls, and the floor was interesting.
They start to notice the little things.
How there's a new vase that looked similar to the one Belphegor shattered except it had gold lines as if it was being kept together.
Beelzebub hated this, Belphegor knew.
"...Mammon, listen. We're sorry, okay? We didn't mean to make it seem that way but if you had told us sooner-" Belphegor tried to reason but Mammon was far too intoxicated to bother.
He turns away.
"You were always good at manipulating others Belphie. That's the youngest for ya..." He mumbles before leaving.
Lucifer steps in front of him.
"Can you get out of the way? I'm tryna get back to my-"
"You are not leaving until this is resolved. What do you think of us? Do you think we don't love you?" Mammon stares at him with dead eyes.
"Ya love me? Doesn't feel that way."
They stared in silence, Lucifer felt awkward. "Believe me... Believe us, Mammon. We'll try our best to be better just please be honest with us, tell us how you feel?"
Mammon didn't respond, he honesty didn't want to.
"Y'know, it sucks because I want to hate you, but I can't. It's almost impossible to feel a tinge of hatred for ya when we've been together through the darkest shadows. But because I can't hate ya, I can't love ya either, right? So I feel nothing. Not anymore. I care for ya but that's definitely just because I have built a system in my mind to care for anyone I consider by family, I care, but not enough ta stay."
He pushes past Lucifer, stumbling through the halls. Though his words were slurred, it was clear as daylight. They knew and understood but they couldn't bring themselves to speak.
Lucifer straightens himself, "We'll fix this as soon as possible, but for now I think he needs time to himself."
The eldest's voice was low; like a whisper, almost.
No one said anything.
No one could.

A Glory Of a Fallen Angel
First part of Mammon Trilogy ; (2) Up Above , Down Below  (3) -
Summary : An angel once renowned turned into a disdained demon. Yet somehow, Mammon was given a chance to lift himself from shame.
A/N : First and last post this month because I’ll be taking a good hiatus and our research defense is next week basically means my death putanginang SSC tulungan nyo koh sa manuscript myghad so enjoy! By the way, I know Mammon have this accent but I’m really lazy to emphasize that point im so sorry–
It was too bad. Too harsh. Too much.
Mammon tried to imagine his life if he didn’t follow Lucifer- if only he had chosen Michael’s side. If he listened to Raphael, if he gave in in Simeon’s plea and he didn’t go against his father, would he be happy? Would he be Luke’s brother figure? Would he still have his golden halo around his head instead of his pointy black horns? Would he still have his big, comforting and bright wings instead of his dark bat-like ones? Would he still have the same overflowing grace instead of the aura of greed and death? Would he still be the same angel who was cherished, looked up upon and loved by many instead of the downgrade, good-for-nothing avatar demon?
Mammon let out a sigh while staring at the fireplace. It was just him in this cold empty house- as his brothers went outside for dinner. He was invited by Beel but he refused. Lucifer tried again but he refused once again so the brothers decided to accept his refusal and eat tonight without the Greed.
There was only silence- crack of the woods and the gentle whistle of wind surrounding Mammon. He doesn’t know why there’s a big part in his heart that regrets his choice of siding with Lucifer and his brothers for their sister’s faith. A big regret he can’t understand that he wasn’t supposed to feel. He knows there’s nothing to regret about. He’s happy in his life right now.. Isn’t he?
Mammon is not happy yet not sad either. He can’t understand the feeling of regret from his strip of glory yet he feels the regret of calling out and helping Lucifer. He can’t understand why he feels that he wanted to go back to the home he used to call, Celestia. He doesn’t know why he badly wants to see Michael despite the things the seraphim did to him and his brothers. He doesn’t know why he wants his father to forgive him.
He doesn’t know why he badly wants to go back to his glory.
It has been two weeks.. Two weeks full of loud and regretful chaos. Mammon being the stupid second born he is caused yet again a big ruckus. Apparently, this little excuse of a demon tried to steal the demon king’s ancient golden glass- something that was passed to each king that rules Devildom- something more sacred than the crown itself.
“Mammon.” As soon as the house’s door closed, Lucifer called out the white hair demon who stopped in his tracks. He turned around to meet with six different gazes, gazes that tell him he is nothing but disappointment.
Mammon knows where this is going. He faced his brothers, not making any eye contact.
“W-What?” He asked, staring at his shoes as if it’s something valuable or just something that will save him from Lucifer’s wrath tonight.
“Dang guess we’ll be hearing cries tonight” Leviathan said trying to hide his smirk. C’mon, it’s Mammon we’re talking about! Leviathan hates him from the Celestia and back at least what they both believe.
“Geez, Mammon can’t you hold yourself back for a bit?” Satan shaked his head and sighed. Asmo snakes his arms around the fourth born which seems like Satan doesn't mind.
“It’s Mammon Satan.. No matter how much you say that it won't get through his tiny, greedy brain~” Asmo said, giggling.
Beel and Belphie said nothing but they both know that what Mammon did is too far. Lucifer could tolerate it if it was just something small but it’s a sacred symbol for pete’s sake! Something valuable!
Mammon stayed silent, his head still hanging low, his eyes not leaving his leather shoes. He ignored the other’s comments, concentrating on what excuse he’ll say to Lucifer. Should he lie or tell the truth? Will Lucifer even believe what he’ll say?
“I could let it pass if it was a golden spoon, a grimm, a photograph of mine, or Leviathan’s figurines,” Lucifer started. Leviathan frowned at the mention of his figurines that the second born had stolen but said nothing. “But what you tried to steal and sell is the goddamn royal cup!”
“Mammon look at me” Lucifer’s voice was chilly and intimidating. Mammon flinched but followed what the first born had said.
Ocean blue meets fiery red. Mammon feels small under Lucifer’s gaze.
“Do you know what you did?” The venom in his older brother’s voice was enough to have his tears cloud on the side of his eyes. He’s not crying because Lucifer is angry at him. He’s not crying because his brothers look down on him. He’s not crying because he was embarrassed in front of the angels earlier. He’s crying because the brother who he thought would understand him the most is just as close minded their younger brothers are.
“Listen Lucifer I didn’t mean to! It- It just- I felt like I wanna grab it! I tried to–”
“No matter what excuse you’ll say, that’s not gonna save you from your punishment.” Mammon swallowed the lump that was piled on his throat before clenching his fist. Who damn cares about that? He’ll take it wholeheartedly since he knows what he did was wrong but won’t he listen? Why won’t Lucifer listen to his side?
“I don’t care about that punishment, I’ll take it. But liste–”
“No one will listen to you,” Leviathan chimed, making Mammon look at him. “I- I mean, all you tell were lies so do you expect we’ll believe what you’ll say?”
“I know you’re stupid Mammon but I didn’t expect your stupidness to go that far..” Beel’s head immediately snapped at his twin who suddenly talked. Mammon is their older brother, can’t he say it with respect?
“Right…” Beel somehow wants to punch himself for agreeing. It felt so wrong yet he knows that it was correct. Mammon was indeed stupid for letting his sin take over.
Mammon went silent before smiling. “Yeah right..” Beel wanted to say something- somehow wants to apologize but what Lucifer had said made his brothers stop.
“I wonder if Lilith was the one with us right now.. Surely it’ll be better if you’re the one who died instead of her.” Lucifer’s eyes are wide but his mouth won’t stop moving. “I must say that I’d rather have Lilith in your position and would rather have Lilith here instead of you”
The whole house was enveloped by silence, no one dared to move or speak. Mammon’s eyes stared at Lucifer’s shocked ones.
“Is- Is that what you think.. What you feel towards me?” Mammon tried his best not to sound broken. The pain hitted all of them like a truck.
“No- Wait that was–”
“You know, I often think what I'd be right now if I chose my real brother instead of you,” Mammon chuckled. Satan’s brows knotted.
“Huh? Real brother?” The wrath asked, totally confused. Mammon turned to him with a small smile. “Lucifer wasn’t originally my brother. Not him, not Leviathan, not even Lilith”
Satan blinked for a while as realization hit him.
“They’re not the siblings father put me into. It was- I was originally under Michael’s wing.. Until Lucifer entered the picture and broke our bond”
“Mammon–”
“What is it, dear brother Leviathan?” Mammon asked in his happy-go-lucky voice. The white haired demon forced his smile yet Leviathan saw through the smile. He can feel it.. The demon is envious of something.
“Michael.. Neglected his responsibilities as my brother. He barely had time for me and when I tried to interrupt his meeting with other seraphim and archangels.. That was when I first met Lucifer” Mammon said, making eye contact with Lucifer. “He was the one who calmly asked me to go out and spend time with me after. It was something Michael and I haven’t done for years. Since then, I started to follow Lucifer like a dog, then he introduced Leviathan and Asmodeus to me.”
Leviathan looked away and Satan felt Asmo’s grip on his arm tighten. Satan feels out of place yet he badly wants Mammon to continue his Celestial Realm story.
“Years later, the triplets were made” Beel and Belphie firmly stayed silent. Afterall, it was about them and their beloved sister. “Lucifer and his brothers made me feel the warmth of the family I didn’t feel when I was under Michael’s custody. So then I asked father if I could be under Lucifer’s wing. Thousands and millions of years had passed and being with all of them was the best.. Michael could go around and screw me for wishes I didn’t fulfill.. For the mess I made but I don’t care because I’m with everyone!”
Mammon laughed as tears left his eyes. Satan only stared at him while the others remained silent. Mammon has been a mystery to the Avatar of Wrath. The earliest memory the wrath could remember is that it was this laughing white haired demon. The first person who talked to him in the darkest days of all the brothers. The person who accepted him and helped him. The white haired demon who used to smile and annoy him. The white haired demon he looked up to.
“I’m not the only stupid in this family.” The sudden change of the tone of Mammon made everyone alert. Of course, he’s still the second born. The second rank and the second strongest after all. It’s not often to see the Avatar of Greed angry but once he is, it’ll be a good mess. “Tell me Belphegor, am I the stupid one or Lilith?”
Belphegor’s ears twitched and he suddenly turned into his demon form. What in Devildom’s name? Why is Lilith suddenly dragged here? “What the fuck Mammon?! What are you saying and Lilith?! What does Lilith have to do with your stupidity?!” Belphegor angrily shouted.
Beelzebub was as sensitive as Belphegor about Lilith. He felt his twin’s anger, as well as Satan. Beel looked at Mammon with a glare, “Please don’t mention Lilith in this.. Lilith isn’t stupid!”
“Really? Then what could have been the reason for our downfall then?” Mammon asked, which made the whole room silent once again. “Tell me Beel? What is the reason we fought father?”
“Mammon, you’re going too far!” Lucifer shouted in anger. The others flinched yet the second born demon doesn’t look moved at all. “For what I said earlier..”
Lucifer’s pride doesn’t want him to apologize. But he knows he has to. What he said was a trigger to his brother. Not even him realized what he said until he was finished. It’s as if his mouth has its own life and said what his brain wanted.
“Why? Lucifer tell me, if Lilith didn’t get the damn fruit to give to that damn human– if she didn’t interfere in that man’s death, do we have to fight for her?” Mammon gritted his teeth. He doesn’t want to curse his sister who he cherished the most. “If Lilith wasn’t stupid enough to make that hasty desicion, is there any reason why father have to throw her out?”
“Mammon–”
“You know Lucifer, I followed you because I thought it’ll be for the best. I know you can beat father. I believed your words and I believed that you love me even if I’m not really your brother?” Mammon let out a sad sigh. “Maybe I should have just listened to Michael..  He’s right after all. He’s my brother, I should've listened to him..”
“He’s right about your kindness.. He’s right about what I’ll be if I choose yo–” Lucifer’s fist met Mammon’s face. The younger brothers were too stunned to move or breathe. Mammon now really went too far.
“Are you hearing yourself, Mammon?!” Lucifer lost all his self control and once again punched Mammon. “Then you should choose Michael instead of us! If you regret it that bad then ask for his forgiveness! But we know you’ll never go back to your glory. Your greed is what caused your downfall!” Lucifer let go of Mammon who crashed on the floor. Asmodeus immediately went to him and helped him out yet the greedy demon slapped his hands away with a glare.
Lucifer was about to step on the stairs when a sudden blow from behind surprised him. Mammon had turned to his demon form and now, the house will be in mess with the two elder fighting.
“I know that, you prideful shit. And that’s what I regretted about. I regretted that I helped you out! Fuck it! I was always the clown of this broken family! I was the one who keeped all of you together! I was practically the reason why you’re all getting along with that fucking demon you made out of your anger– I am the only one who fixed this already rotten family!” Mammon tried to punch Lucifer but the oldest dodged it. “I was the one who filled your seat as the oldest because you’re too busy rubbing and kissing Diavolo’s royal fucking ass! If anything caused my downfall, it was you and your brothers! This stupid love I feel! And you know what you’re right” Mammon stopped, making the oldest stop as well.
“You’re right I’m greedy.. I’m really useless and Lilith should have been the one who lived” Mammon stepped on the stairs and made his way through his room.
“What the fuck?” Leviathan muttered, staring at Mammon’s back. The second eldest then stopped and looked back at them.
“It’s no use crying over spilled milk, right? Let’s just forget what happened.. I just need some space. Thanks, I was able to let out the anger I’m holding up until now. I’ll return to being the punching bag of this family but not now” Mammon disappeared in their sight and somehow, the tight atmosphere left as well.
The next day everything was back to normal. It was just that, Mammon returned to his original self like nothing happened last night. Mammon laughs and smiles at them yet they feel like he’s so far. So far that they feel like they can’t reach him.
“I’m really nervous but I can’t pinpoint what it is about” Asmodeus muttered while walking in the hallways with Satan.
“Are you ok?” the blonde demon asked and the champagne haired man shrugged.
“I don’t know.. It really feels so heavy, I can’t breathe properly” Asmo answered and felt the shiver in his spine again.
“Hey I know this isn’t the right time but is there a possibility of fallen angels returning to their glory?” Satan asked. Asmodeus thinks for a while.
“Hm… no. Fallen angels like us can never return. We had rejected our father and we were banished, remember? Our punishment is eternal.”
Satan only nodded and the two continued to the class.
A fallen angel can never return. Whether they did a good deed or they asked for forgiveness. Mammon didn’t. Sure he regretted defying his father but he never asked for forgiveness. He never did a good deed but there was a pull of faith for his father. The same pull he had when he followed Lucifer.
A fallen angel cannot return to its glory. Can never. But why is this white haired fallen angel got his halo and wings once again? And now stood in front of him was the same man he first saw when he first opened his eyes. The same man who cooed and held him in his arms firstly before Lucifer.
Michael reaches his hands over to Mammon with a smile. “Father wants to talk to you”
Mammon stared in horror. He was about to protest but he was dragged to the light and the next thing he knew, he was face to face with his father.
