“Princess?” JJ picks up his phone after the first ring, wondering what could’ve happened to you in the past ten minutes since you left him.
“Jay…” you sniffle and, although you can’t see him, you can hear some muffled noises on the other end, “My car stopped in the middle of nowhere.”
At the sound of your crying, he already started putting on his shoes and he’s grabbing his keys as he responds quickly, “I’m on my way. I’ll follow your phone tracking, alright? Don’t worry, princess, I got you.”
“Thank you, Jay,” you hiccup, “I don’t know what happened.”
“‘S okay.” He reassures you as he checks your location before putting the car in motion. “Are you hurt?”
You shake your head, then you remember that he can’t see you, so it quickly follows a whispered “No, I guess. Just scared.”
As soon as JJ’s eyes land on your car, he hits the brakes and stops his own, stepping out of it as fast as he can. He runs to you and you immediately open your car door to all but jump into his arms.
“Hey, princess, calm down.” He coos at you, smoothing down your hair. “Let me see what’s wrong.”
You unwillingly unwrap yourself from his arms to allow him to sit in the driver seat of your vehicle and check the issue. In less than ten seconds, he turns to you, raising one eyebrow as he asks, “How long has that light been blinking?”
Following his finger, you shrug your shoulders at the sight of the small red blinking light on the screen behind the steering wheel. “I don’t know. I thought it was just a fun feature.”
JJ’s eyes widen and he takes a deep breath as he runs one hand down his face. “Sometimes I wonder how you got a driving license.”

So, my 5 favorite self-written fics (in no particular order):
1. so many walls up (i can't break through) - the first fic of the s1 arc of the Morgan AU! My first multichap in the AU too...which I don't usually write a lot of, so that made it extra special. It's also where we see the beginnings of Barry & Morgan, aka one of my favorite relationships in this whole AU (and if you love them too, take comfort in knowing that there's gonna be a lot more of them to come). And some insight into Morgan & Thawne's complicated father-daughter dynamic...which is the relationship referred to in the title. And Morgan herself is so wonderful and I love her...which goes hand in hand with me wanting to give her the biggest, tightest hug 💞
2. one tries to fly away (and the other watches close) - also part of the Morgan Wells AU, and also expanding on Morgan & Thawne as a relationship. It was a nice change to step into Eowells's head and see how he feels about Morgan...we spend so much time in her shoes that I think it's important to show that Eowells does indeed love Morgan, he just doesn't know how to love her in a healthy way, so he ends up hurting her. Love can be complicated like that.
3. i hate to look at your face (and know that you're feeling different) - so this is pretty recent, but I love it! I love Izumi & Zuko, and I've always wanted to write something about them, but...the ATLA muse these days is fickle, so I wasn't sure where to start. But I figured "ooh what's more angsty than Izumi finding out about her dad's scar at 13?" and I'm proud of the results 💞 having a deadline helped too
4. come in, the water is(n't) fine - this is one I think I'll be proud of for a while. It was my first go at Sith Luke, but during the Sequels era from the POV of Rey. I've always wanted more from Rey & Luke than what we got in the movies, and this was my chance to sorta explore that...albeit with some differences. I think the backstory was the trickiest part to get right here - it's an AU but I didn't wanna go full OOC, so I had to figure out how Luke could plausibly fall. And I think I did pretty well! And bonus...I actually didn't hate Kylo Ren in this 😂
5. i hear it calling (i feel it in my soul) - can't make a list like this without a Lucy AU fic ofc! And it had to be this one. This very well might change to my ESB fic (since that movie's my favorite), but for now, it's this one. I really loved writing this, inserting Lucy and changing a few minor things here and there to kick the emotion up a notch (and to erase that brief Luke and Leia romance because...wtf)...and the sibling bonds between the triplets were so wonderful to write too! And Lucy herself is so dear to me ofc 💞
...also I'm cheating and adding a 6th because I feel like it:
6. main gehra tamas tu sunehra savera (main tera) - the Maiko/Hasaisha fic! Can't make this list without that too...this fic will forever be one of my proudest ones. Maiko is such a dear ship to me, and Hasaisha were so cute in Ms. Marvel...and I gave myself a challenge that I didn't know if I could meet, but I wanted to try. And I'm so glad I did, because I think it's one of the best things I've ever written.

“i didn’t come here to make people fall in love with me” “i assume that’s quite impossible” okay but did he lie ? “you didn’t let anything happen in seoul maybe it’s time you did in daejon” HAN JISUNG HAVE I MENTIONED THAT I LOVE YOU
“the purple cans had now been lined up before the blue, blending so seamlessly and so beautifully” “whoever did this had an eye for detail and beauty, two of hyunjin’s favourite things” i can’t remember who exactly, but someone said yn’s soulmate would probably spend their time rearranging paint with her. this section is so cute bc it really does show how similar they are + i’m literally giggling and kicking my feet that the purple paint, something that no one else gave a shit about, was one of their first ‘bonding’ moments. idk but after seeing their relationship develop/seeing how many things they have in common, it just makes me so happy reading about the purple paint through hyunjin’s pov and knowing that it meant a lot to him too 🥹
“…someone might know him. right now he wondered if you did” HWANG HYUNJIN RIGHT NOW THE ONLY THING IM WONDERING IS IF YOU REMEMBER HER FROM THAT SUMMER

“hyunjin turned away immediately not wanting to see a potential kiss” jade i’m not even a quarter through but the number of times i’ve had to physically move away from the screen so i can keep intact whatever shred of sanity i have left is unreal. and i’m not even exaggerating bc how am i meant to live my life knowing that they both had the same reaction at the thought of the other person kissing someone else ? yn walking out with the watercolours and hyunjin overthinking if he should offer to walk her home, they’re the definition of soulmates 🥲

the a-list was so GOOD WTF. i said this when the teaser initially came out but ive never watched gossip girl but im wholly in love with this fic. maybe its partly cause its jay and partly because its You who wrote it. I've actually been reading this since it came out and putting off finishing it bc i didn't want the fic to end but omg even the ending was so good (before the fic came out, i probably read the teaser like 8 times bc its also so good)
im not even joking when i say i would literally leave mid-fic and go on like tiktok or something and then come back JUST to prolong the reading time (also bc the smut scenes had me blushing and screaming)
i believe the teaser of the a-list was the stepping stone for me following you and being one of your regulars because the synopsis and excerpt was so interesting so ive been here a while and i can confidently say you are one of, if not, my fav writer on this app and for enhypen works. you've did it again!! you said before that you would pride yourself on your realism and characterisation and i agree!! youre amazing when it comes to building plot and relationships and angst and everything in between and you are so good at making the story flow and evoking emotions from us readers that we don't usually experience when reading these fics. so thank you !!! for being here and doing what you love and blessing us with these amazingly written fics and smaus and your wonderful presence as well! i truly enjoyed the a-list so much alice!!
