Eddie: You guys are right, maybe me moving to LA to become a firefighter could be a good thing. Maybe I'll find a great place.
Adriana: Atta girl.
Eddie: In a cool neighborhood.
Sofia: That's right, girl.
Eddie: Maybe I'll even have a cute neighbor or coworker.
Adriana: Get it, girl.
Eddie: You gotta stop calling me girl.
Adriana and Sofia: Sorry, girl.

I finally got caught up on s7 of 9-1-1 and can I just say . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I'M SO GLAD FOX CANCELLED IT SO THAT ABC COULD SAVE IT!!!! Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed the show, I still loved the characters and wanted Buddie before but I feel like in a way FOX stopped trying or caring and the show started to feel different. Even after so many minutes in the first episode of s7, it felt different in the best possible way. Two episodes in and the show is the best it's been in a while and I'm so happy it was picked up by a network that saw its potential and cared. The show was starting to feel kind of stifled in a way and it wasn't the actors fault, now it feels like new life and energy was breathed into it. It reminds me of a time when 9-1-1 was at its best, s7 is already so freaking good and I can't wait for what the rest of the season and series has in store on ABC!!!!??!!!!

Gigi knows that her brother is STRESSED TM, so, being the good little sister she is, she masterminds a plan to get Grayson to actually have a day off to strictly chillax. Xander is on board with it and helps her plan the whole thing, Nash is also down, he’s the one keeping an eye on Gray and Savannah just kind of gets roped into it because Gigi’s involved which, by default, means she is there because she needs to keep an eYe oN tHInGs.
The way things go down is that Grayson, being the neat freak he is, has a schedule posted on his calendar, on his phone plus reminders everywhere of what he has to do on a given day of the week. However, Xander hacks into his stuff and changes his schedule (he has the hidden illegal talent of also being able to mimic people's handwriting scarily well, especially Gray’s, and yes, he has forged signatures before-don’t ask, we’ll be here all day). Luckily, Gray is so tired out of his mind that this time he actually doesn’t suspect a thing when he notices that the entire day is blocked off and in all honesty, he looks relieved when sees it. Cue Gigi calling and telling him to meet her at a “café” because she’s “lost” and needs someone to pick her up because who  better than her big brother of course? Gray dutifully heads off to the garage in a rush because he’s worried for his baby sister TM and he’s sitting in the closest car, already typing in the address, however, Xander luckily also took care of that. He hacked his brother’s phone to also make the location of the spa  hidden and appear as the café instead.
Fast forward to Gray on the road and Nash is trailing him in his truck to make sure he actually gets there safely (despite this NOT being a good thing at all [PSA: don’t do this kids, stay safe out there and drive only when you are well rested or take a nap on the road if you can when you get to a rest stop ASAP] ) but Gray is still (somehow) highly functional even at his most dysfunctional. (Take note, even  Grayson Hawthorne makes dumb decisions, sometimes even dumber than Jameson, just another  reminder that he’s human like the rest of us, hence Nash as damage control.) Anyways, he’s going a bit over the speed limit but he’s worried and his big brother instincts are activated that by the time he parks, he’s flying out the car, not even glancing up to see the sign with the establishment’s name. As soon as he enters the lobby, he’s looking around crazily for Gigi and he finds her waving at him. Up to this point, Grayson still hasn’t picked up on the fact he’s not at a cafe and he only has tunnel vision on his little sister before he’s grabbing her in a hug,  asking  if she’s okay and if something happened. Gigi reassures him and once he pulls away, only then does he finally start realizing something about this place isn’t right but just as he’s about to make a comment, the receptionist is calling his name and telling him to follow her.
He’s surprised and then looks at Gigi who has a wide smile on her face, not even trying to look innocent as she turns him and pushes him forward to follow the receptionist.  Grayson is too stunned to say anything and just lets her do her thing, walking behind him as they head down the hall to a room. When they stop, the woman is holding a robe, handing it to him and telling him to get changed. At first he tries protesting but he’s so dumbfounded that he just does as told. He tells Gigi that this is ridiculous but she just tells she’s not moving from the spot until she sees him in the spa room and he gives in, mad that he was tricked but accepting his fate. Emerging from the darkn change room, he walks into the spa room and Gigi grabs his arm, leading him to a nearby chair and shoving him into it. He asks what he’s going to be subjected to and she replies with “jUsT a FEw tHiNgS” when it’s actually the best package available!
Grayson is given the whole spectrum; facial, massage (deep tissue), sauna, whirlpool and jet bath, salt scrub, cryotherapy, scalp massage, etc. He ends up admitting to himself that this was very much needed and secretly enjoys every bit of it. Halfway through his facial, Savannah joins him, sitting down for a mani-pedi; he is very surprised she’s there and she tells him that he’s not the only one who had to deal with a bunch of nonsense lately and after supervising the shenanigans of Xander and her sister, she deserves it. Gray immediately starts wondering how much he missed out on right under his nose but forgets as soon as sleep starts creeping in. He naps through the whole massage treatment and he gets a lunch break where he is joined by Nash and Gigi, revealing his older brother’s involvement and Gigi is just so happy that her plan is working that Gray finds it very difficult to be mad at her for orchestrating this whole thing.
By the end of the appointment, Grayson comes out refreshed, sore but in a good way (don’t you dare take that out of context because there is none), and actually rested from the nap he managed to get. Gigi meets him out front with biggest sh*t-eating grin on her face as she asks him how it was and he rolls his eyes but kisses her on the forehead and tells her it was great. Happy with that victory, she gets in the car, very satisfied with herself only for Grayson to tell her that she’s going to help him with the rest of the work he had for the week by the time they get back to the House. Of course, she’s not very happy to hear that and he lets her think it’s his form of revenge but actually it’s just him wanting to spend more time with her in his own brotherly way.

What do you think about girl dad Bobby because it makes my heart melt 🥺
Omg girl dad Bobby has my ENTIRE heart!!! I mean dad Bobby in general has my entire heart, but GIRL DAD BOBBY!!!
He’s been preparing to be a girl dad literally from the second that his 15-years-his-junior sister who is totally canon and I absolutely did not make up was born. He took one look at that squawling red-faced little baby and decided that she was is. His parents already got to raise him and his older brother… this one was HIS!!
He insisted on teaching her all the most important things that his parents taught him. He’s the one who taught her to cook, and by the time she was 4 she was good enough to make (slightly singed) cookies all by herself! And Bobby had never been more proud. He also was the one who taught her to ride a bike, and who kissed her scraped knees better when she fell. Mama Nash and Dad Nash insisted that he at least sometimes be a normal teenager, but Bobby was just too enamored with his tiny sister to want to be a normal teen. More than once, Mama Nash or Dad Nash would walk to the nursery in the middle of the night to soothe the crying baby only to find Bobby had beaten them to it, gently rocking his sister to sleep while singing under his breath.
When little Brook was born, his sister gave him the warmest, gentlest hug and told him that she knew he was gonna be the greatest girl dad in the world, because she gave him all the practice he needed. So really, he should be thanking her.
And before his injury and the subsequent dependency on pain killers and alcohol, Bobby’s greatest joy was in spending time with his kids. He dusted off the skills he learned as a teenager, and no little girl had prettier braids than Brook did (when her hair was long enough). When she got a little bit older she started to be a bit of a tomboy, so Bobby (a little sadly) put away the ribbons and bows and instead bought her a whittling knife. Marcy was concerned about giving a 6-and-a-half-year-old a knife, but Bobby and Bobby Jr were busy arguing over who was gonna get to teach Brook. “You already taught me, dad! It’s my turn!”
(As a side note, if Bobby Jr had survived, he would have also had the biggest dad energy).
At Brook’s funeral, Bobby pulled the tiny little bow that he always carried around in his pocket (even during the worst of his addiction)… the very first bow he had ever put into her hair… and tucked it carefully into her hands. He didn’t deserve even that little reminder of the joyous times he had spent with her. He had lost his wife… lost his son… lost his daughter… and it was all his fault. He didn’t deserve joy anymore.
His entire family tried to help him, and his sister… the one who made him decide from the time he was a teenager that he would someday have kids of his own… was the closest to being able to get through to him. But he was too caught up in his guilt and his grief. He didn’t deserve the unwavering love and forgiveness she offered him. She was the last one to get a text from him, a fleeting “I’m sorry” before the Nash family lost track of him and eventually had to assume that he had drunk himself into an early, and unmarked, grave.
He truly believed his time of being a dad should have ended there, but then he met Athena and her beautiful family. And he would never presume to claim May and Harry as his kids… not out loud. But they were his. May was his daughter just as much as if he had been there from the start, braiding ribbons into her hair like he had done for Brook. But he would never never presume.
“I have two dads, and you’re one of them”.
And with those words, another part of Bobby’s heart… a part he didn’t even realize was still aching… healed just a little bit more. Because May saw herself as his daughter just as much as he did. Because that was the first time anybody had called him dad since that horrible night where he lost his family.
And maybe… maybe after his much needed vacation cruise with Athena… maybe he’ll reach back out to his sister again. Maybe he’ll say to her “Sis, I want you to meet my daughter, May.” And maybe his sister will smile, eyes shining with unshed tears, hugging him tighter than she ever has before. “I knew you could find yourself again, Bobby”
Because being a girl dad? That’s as much a part of who Bobby Nash is as being a firefighter.

So I need some help deciding on a decision it has me, @justabigassnerd and @maverick-wingman stumped. It'll be a crossover with 9-1-1 and Criminal Minds. Loaded with fluff and angst. Maybe even multiple parts.

I was doing 5x16 rewatch, my sister who has not watched 911 since 5x04, sat down to watch with me, her first time.
The roof collapses on top of Bobby and May, and Buck is calling out to Bobby with the rest, and my sister goes, " This is nowhere near as hysterical as he usually calls out to Eddie, especially if comparing to 3x15." And then she went on to imitate the call quietly, coz, you know, people are sleeping.
And then she said, "He's obviously worried and wants to help Bobby, but this is way more tamed than his Eddie call."
And I'm going in my head, 'babe, if you only knew what awaits you in season 6' 😂🙈

I desperately need one of Eddie’s sisters to roll up on the show and stay in LA either permanently or for an extended period of time. I think losing Abuela and Tia Pepa (I’m not sure if Pepa is permanent or she was visiting too in season 5, but either way, I don’t remember seeing her since then) to Texas was ughhh and if Adriana or Sophia shows up, we’ll get to see Eddie navigating being an older brother without his parents (more his mom now ig?) around to put more pressure on the situation. Also, I just really fucking want to see Eddie as a protective older brother bc THAT MAN😭we’ve had the canonical siblings of every other firefam main roll up spontaneously (Buck and Maddie, Chim and Albert, Hen doesn’t have siblings as far as I know, and Bobby doesn’t either). But Eddie has TWO sisters RIGHT! THERE! It would be amazing!!!!!

Savannah and Gigi are basically Libby and Avery in The Brothers Hawthorne. Savannah is the older sister (Libby) in a toxic/abusive relationship with a guy, Duncan (Drake), who is unworthy of her and Gigi is the younger sister (Avery) seeing all the warning signs that she’s getting hurt and wants her to break up with him. There’s also someone new who comes into their lives, Grayson (Nash), to help through the trauma. The only thing is, Sav hasn’t broken up yet with Duncan and Gigi and Gray haven’t managed to corner her about that yet while Libby is healing and happily engaged to her new man with Avery happy to have a good future brother-in-law. Also, this is indirectly a warning to avoid guys with names that start with D, if you couldn’t tell😆(that is a joke of course, there are plenty of good men with D names, I’m sure).
Kudos to @ariscats for inspiring this post from an old one of hers where she was talking about Drake indirectly harassing Avery.

Title: All the Things We Already Knew
Written by jupiterfics
Rated: no rating
Category: gen, m/m
Warnings: none
Relationships: Bobby & Buck, Buck/Eddie, Bobby/Athena
Tags: hurt/comfort, emotional hurt/comfort, whump, Bobby Nash acting as Evan Buckley's Parental Figure, Bobby Nash is dad shaped, Maddie Buckley is a good sister, confession of feelings, soft, canon-typical violence, canon-typical trauma, may contain schmoop, Firehouse 118 crew as family
Words: 21,640
Summary:
It's the smoke that wakes him, seeping into his apartment not ten minutes after he finally knocks off.
He's off the couch in half a second, heart pounding with adrenaline, at the kitchen counter before he even realizes that the familiar smell in his nose is burning insulation.
There isn't any alarm going, no sprinklers on, no neighbors screaming or doors banging open, but Buck knows.
"9-1-1," says a vaguely familiar voice on the other end of the phone once he punches in the numbers. "What's your emergency?"
My notes: Breathtaking. I was absolutely SPEECHLESS reading this. I couldn't stop reading it. The writing was amazing, I got so extremely into the story. Also loves the way the dynamics between characters was written. This fic made me cry, it made me laugh. This is absolutely a must read!
