Hawthornes and Illness, Part 3

Grayson Davenport Hawthorne:

-Does not get sick very often(shocker, considering how much he works), but when he does come down with something, like Jamie, he gets it HARD

-He doesn’t like needing to rely on others to do for him, and tries to do everything for himself. This usually only makes him feel worse, and he’s sick for longer.

-He also always tries to work while he’s laid up in bed. At this point, when Gray starts showing signs of illness, it’s Nash’s automatic protocol to take all Grayson’s devices except his phone. One time, Grayson still tried to work on his phone, but Nash found out and took that away too and gave him a walkie talkie in case he needed something. The problem for Gray? Nash gave the other walkie talkie to Xander, who was constantly checking in and using all the walkie talkie lingo. It got on Gray’s nerves and he promised to never work on his phone while sick again.

-Like his brothers, he also loves Nash’s chicken noodle soup, and since he’s the second oldest, Nash taught him how to make it. However, Grayson says it still doesn’t taste exactly right when he makes it for himself. The truth is he loves Nash making it for him and will accept that little bit of care.

-He drinks tea regularly, and when he’s sick is no different. He prefers an Earl Grey tea or chamomile(somehow, don’t ask me how he actually likes that). He lays off the coffee while sick because it keeps him awake when he only wants to sleep.

-Reads a lot while laid up. Also always needs to sleep and has multiple blankets every time, as he always gets a fever.

-Cuddles Tiramisu while he’s sick. The dog practically refuses to leave his side while he’s ill. Grayson doesn’t mind at all. He likes the quiet company. If his throat allows he will sometimes even read aloud to her❤️

-His favorite person to take care of him is Nash.

-Always feels guilty because he thinks he needs to be perfect and deliver impeccably 24/7.

-Spends time on Pinterest looking at photographs planning what he’s going to take pictures of next.

-One time when he was younger, he got sick and Jameson and Xander created their own little play and performed it for him. Nash thought this was adorable and recorded it. Grayson has a copy and will once in a while watch it again. He always finds himself smiling at his baby brothers’ antics.

(there's still like 10 hrs left on my poll but I'm impatient so 🙃 here we go hope y'all like them)

• he likes snow cones

• he sleeps hot (his brothers too, except xander) so he always needs the aircon to be really low

• he's had like 17 different tailors throughout his life because of how specific he is about his clothes 💀 (it's the only fragment left of his purported toddler nudist history, he NEEDS then to be comfy)

• has a natural profiling tendency (he's profiled multiple people in TBH)

• can sing well (canon), also he actually really likes to as well but never cultivated it as a yearly skill cuz he wanted at least one thing he liked to not become a competition 😞 (fuck you tobias)

• definitely keeps journals

• loves the sauna (there's definitely many of those in the house)

• loves eddie south and also likes to play jazz music more than classical, but tobias forbade it and made him focus on classical :( (cuz classical focuses more on perfection rather than jazz which is looser in approach)

• hates his gray eyes because he thinks they're really dull and cold 🥺

• he was that shy but smart kid in class whose report card description is always smth like "polite, quiet, and smart" (basically me tbh I was the shy kid 🤭)

• loved holding Jamie and Xan as babies 🥹

• sleeps like the dead (canon) but when they were all kids, he used wake up IMMEDIATELY when Jamie had a nightmare and wanted to be in his room 😭

Heiress and Illness

Thank you @ariscats for the request!

-Even though she had Libby after her mom died, Avery still preferred to try to take care of herself. Not healthy, poor girl.

-The first time she got sick after the inheritance, Jamie tried to help take care of her, but she rejected it a lot.

-Except cuddles. She gladly took his cuddles.

-Eventually he got her to talk about it and they came away understanding each other better and Avery began learning how to accept care while she was sick.

-still pretty independent tho

-I honestly can’t see her drinking any tea. Maybe a simple lemon water with honey?

-Also goes through a lot of tissues. And relies on nightquil to get any half decent sleep while sick

-Likes to watch tv or work on any kind of brain stimulating thing while she’s sick, like a difficult word search or anything involving numbers. Jamie will often make up some riddle or something for her to mull over. He rain checks a good kiss for every correct answer she gets, which is most of them, because our girl is smart.

-also reads a lot while laid up.

-She has forbidden Grayson to enter her sick room with Lysol. Permanently.

-Denies it, but feels a bit needy while sick. Jamie and Libby are the only ones who she lets see this side of her once in a while. A bit like Jamie, she can be a bit of a cuddle bug.

-Plots crap while she’s laid up too. Helping Jamie with a prank, a prank on Jamie, or a surprise for someone.

-Is always too cold while she’s sick. Could be the middle of Texas summer and she’d have the window open.

random little quirks about each the inheritance games characters!

these are all headcanons I made up!

avery definitely sings in the shower. she has full on concerts every time and jameson thinks it’s hilarious. avery will get really embarassed if you bring it up and doesn’t like to talk about it.

jameson stills counts on his fingers. he’s a grown man, in college, paying for taxes, and he still uses his fingers to count.

grayson is a huge grammar and spelling person. if you spell a word wrong or don’t use correct punctuation, he will correct you in seconds and make you feel like an idiot.

xander is a huge nail biter. whenever he can’t sit still or is anxious, he bites his nails.

nash will have headphones in and will dance around his bedroom, kitchen, etc. he gets very flustered if someone walks in on him dancing to music the other person can’t hear. when libby walks in on it, she just starts dancing with him.

libby is a terrible liar. you can always tell when she’s lying or making something up. she always gets really guilty after lying too.

max snorts when she laughs, but only when she’s laughing really hard. she’s kinda self conscious about it but xander thinks it’s so cute.

thea is a massive germaphobe. her room is always so clean and she hates touching dirt, animals, blood, etc. she is constantly washing her hands and doesn’t like germs overall.

rebecca is an outfit repeater, but she has the cutest clothes ever so no one really cares.

Just doing some catch ups and writing out requests, I have a few hcs for each, so I'll just do a few hunger games nsfw hcs :) I also will clarify that all of these headcanons are post rebellion and all of the characters are over 18. Katniss Everdeen ♫↬ She's a top lean switch

thg headcanons:

(Trigger warning for phobia, trauma and psychological mentionings)

the Hawthornes have a family song/lullaby: the “I love you song” ( Frankie Valley LOVE song). It all started out with mr h and hazelle having a dance to the song, and then gales dad just starts sing to hazelle and his kids to ‘brighten up their lives’. Gale n hazelle continues on the song to sing the kids to sleep, cuz it is a sweet thing that makes them think of the good times before the chaos.

katniss uses unscented shampoo and conditioners. she hates the reminder of it’s artificial, unrealistic, inauthenticity— like the Capitol. By being unscented and not having any connection to the Capitol, katniss allows herself to be free and unbranded. peeta always uses fresh or sweeter scents: maybe like mint and chamomile. But he ends up smelling like backed good at the end of the day

haymitch is Madge’s godfather like figure. he is close to her mother, due to being connected to mayslee. cuz of this, the undersees trust him a lot and have so much faith with him. he even cares a lot for Madge too, wanting what’s good for her.

Johanna, from the hjacking, developed a phobia of any form of water. cuz of that, she couldn’t take a proper shower or bath for a good couple of years, and won’t visit district 4 (also the pain of losing a close friend). she would clean herself with watered rags and wipe her body clean. she also cuts her hair short, never too short, but short and asks Annie to wash her hair for her— which she always does and hold her hands telling her she’s okay.

To add on, I think Katniss develops on onset phobia of needles. After all the trauma and abuse she got from the capital and the revolution, she hates the idea of needles, cus it just trigger her fight-or-flight reaction to protecting herself. Especially all the episodes of being unconscious, drugged up or injuries beyond repair.

Annie, I think, would want to become a psychologist, or something incredibly similar in the future. She learns to become better and helps other with similar situations to improve themselves to become more at ease. She specifies in trauma/addiction and childhood psychotherapy.

The mellarks adopt another cat and name it dandelion. Similar to the flower/plant motive of the Everdeens name, but also cause it reminds katniss of peeta. Dandelion, the cat, would be blonde with white in it. And it would be always there at the corner of katniss’ eye

Finnick has a massive book collection and poetry collection at his place. Him, Mags and Annie all have a ‘Book Club’ group and talk to each other

Finnick can’t sing anything other than sea-ship songs. Like those old-times pirate/ sea songs. He also sways a little when he stands too still for too long— an old habit that died hard from his youth his his dad owning a boat. Annie smtimes joins him w his singing, and mags too
