Soon I'm gonna start also making longer posts recommending fics for one certain theme (for example 'AUs under 20K' or 'presumed dead') I'll include fics from my already bookmarked fics. However, I haven't read everything in this fandom yet, so there is a chance I might miss your awesome fic that fits the theme.
(I'm also not caught up with fics because I've been reading a lot for a different fandom)
I'll still make separate posts as well, but I thought this would be fun to do as well.
Right now I'm not accepting submissions/requests because I don't always have enough fics to post for a certain topic and don't always have the time to search for them. This could change in the future though :)

Summary
Buck feels like an idiot. Really. It’s not a new feeling, by any means. He’s definitely got things wrong before. Especially when it comes to things like romance. Especially when it comes to Eddie.
But he’d really thought they’d been heading somewhere. Really thought something was happening between the two of them. After his disastrous date with Marisol, and him subsequently deciding to do some “soul searching”–Buck doesn’t think he’s ever been so shocked to hear any words coming out of Eddie’s mouth, but those had almost made him choke on his coffee–to decide what he really wanted, and after things had fizzled out with Natalia, their schedules too conflicting for either of them to really have enough time to invest in building a relationship or develop any feelings beyond just like, Buck had thought he and Eddie had turned a corner.
***
Buck thinks he and Eddie are heading somewhere, but then Eddie announces he has a date for Valentines day and Buck pines. He's also a little oblivious.

Summary:
“Shower with me.”
Eddie let out a startled laugh. “No!”
“C'mon. It's not like it'd be the first time.”
“That was for medical reasons, Buck.”
“This is a medical reason.”
Eddie stroked a hand through his hair, lightly scratching at his scalp and Buck kind of had the urge to purr. “You're not dying. You're just cold.”
Buck tilted his head up when Eddie leaned closer, but he ignored the lips that were plainly asking to be kissed, and whispered into his ear instead. “And you still smell like turtle.”
Buck spluttered out a laugh. It was true, but, damn. Eddie didn't have to plainly roast him like this.
Or: Buck plans a date at the zoo to tell Eddie how he feels, and things pretty much derail from there.

If you’re able to get here soon that would be best, I can’t tell you much over the phone.” To her credit, Deirdre does sound apologetic, and Eddie’s panic has begun to ratchet back up. “I’ll be there as fast as I can, is he- please, how bad?” Eddie repeats. Summary:
He casts his gaze to the right, to the voice he’d heard a minute ago and the hand still on his shoulder. And, well. Okay. So Buck may have just been unconscious for an indeterminable length of time but he doesn’t think he’s exaggerating when he says the guy leaning over his bedside is one of the most attractive people he’s seen in a long time. Especially when his face splits into a smile that rivals the brightness of the hospital lights that almost just fucking blinded Buck a second ago. “Welcome back, hotshot,” the guy says and it sounds fond – familiar – and Buck honestly has no idea who this guy is. His brown hair is dishevelled on top of his head and his eyes look tired but then Buck notices the LAFD t-shirt so- alright. Someone from the firehouse, maybe? But he’s pretty sure he’d remember a face like that. * After getting hurt on a call, Buck wakes up thinking it's 2018. AKA Buck can't remember who Eddie is but he's pretty sure everyone's lying when they say they're "just friends."

He would’ve fallen down the cliffside if it hadn’t been for Bobby on the winch. Because that… that’s Buck’s jeep. There’s no denying it, no mistaking it. That is Buck’s jeep. Hanging almost sideways off a ledge, the driver’s side doors flung open with the force of the fall. And further down… no. No it can’t be… a man, smashed against the rocks. A massive pool of blood. But Eddie can see the familiar white sneakers against the dirt.

Summary:
“What happened? Is he – was it a blood clot?” Bobby was parsing through every moment he had seen Buck during their shift – had he missed Buck favouring his leg in some way? Or rubbing his chest? Coughing? Damn it, he’d known the risk was too high, why was Buck always so stubborn? His entire body was pulsing with fear-fuelled adrenaline as he considered all of the worst case scenarios. He was so focused on his own imaginings that he almost missed the nurse’s hurried reassurance. “No, no, not a blood clot. Mr Buckley was brought in by paramedics after cutting himself.” Bobby froze. -- Or, the episode tag to 3x06 Monsters, wherein Bobby makes an entirely incorrect assumption about what Buck ‘cutting himself’ means but at least it actually forces them to have a conversati

Additional Tags: Angst with a Happy Ending, Hurt/Comfort, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Buck is going through it and does some dumb stuff, Trigger warning: suicidal ideation, nothing intense, But canonical 'my life means less than others', Eddie is trying his best not to shake Buck the entire time, The Buckley Siblings Have Bad Parents (9-1-1 TV), They really really suck in this, Therapy, the author works through stuff, but isn't that writing folks?, an abundance of drag queens
Summary:
“Did you know if you put a frog in water and slowly bring it to boiling, it won’t hop out?” Chris is chattering as Buck makes a quick dinner while Eddie argues with his gas company on the phone. He can hear the occasional swear word in Spanish as his voice raises. Eddie doesn’t like to raise his voice around Christopher – the very thought makes Buck want to kiss him full on the mouth – so he decided to take it to the living room while Chris sits with his homework in the kitchen and Buck cooks. “Hmm?” Buck asks, unable to fully pull himself out of Bobby’s baked mac and cheese recipe. It took him years, but he finally convinced the man to write it down. Bobby’s handwriting was juvenile at best on a good day, but this was nearly unreadable. Buck wonders if he did that on purpose. “Frogs?” “Yeah!” Chris states. “My teacher said that if you put a frog in a pot, you have to make sure it’s not immediately boiling. You put them in water and then slowly raise the temperature and they won’t realize what’s happening. Then once they realize, they have no place to go. They can’t jump out.” * S6 Spec: Buck decides he doesn’t need therapy, reverts to some bad habits, and explodes. Or, the Breakdown Fic.

Summary:
“Most babies are born as accidents,” She says suddenly, like she’s decided that Buck has passed, that she can trust him with this. Buck doesn’t really have an answer because that question hits way to fucking close to home. A year or so ago he would have said, yes, I was an accident, so I know how that goes, but Buck knows better now. Knows that he would almost give anything for that answer to still be yes. Evie’s finger works under the seal to rip it open, a stack of important looking papers dumping out onto the table in front of her. “Not me,” she says without looking up as she organizes them into a neat stack, “I was engineered.” And. And Buck’s pretty fucking sure a giant, cataclysmic hole has ripped right open, dragging him down to the earth’s core where he vaporizes into dust. {or Buck meets another savior baby and everything comes crashing down}

Don’t get me wrong, I’m completely over Ali, and I’m happy for her and everything, but…” “But you also want to show that she’s not the only one who could move on,” Eddie says. And yeah. That’s pretty much right on the money. Always Eddie, to see him, ugliness and all. It’s a shit thought to have, because the last person Ali Martin’s big day is about is him, but— Well, but. He’s thirty-one and in love with his best friend, who is decidedly not in love with him. He thinks he’s earned the right to be a little uncharitable. Then Eddie says, very casually, “Just take me.” Or, Buck gets invited to an ex’s wedding. Eddie volunteers to come as his date.

Afterwards, when Buck is lying half on top of Eddie, come sticky between them, and Eddie can’t bring himself to stop touching Buck, Buck murmurs, “It doesn’t have to be a one night stand. This was good, right?” “Yeah,” Eddie agrees, probably the best sex he’s ever had, actually. “So it could be…a friends with benefits thing. People do it all the time.” Probably not with their best friend, Eddie thinks, but then again he doesn’t think there’s anything they could break by making this a regular thing that wouldn’t have already broken after last night. “Sure,” he says, hoping it comes out sounding casual. “Friends with benefits sounds good.” ~ while christopher is at camp, buck and eddie strike up a friends with benefits situation. it doesn't really get complicated until the kid comes back.
