if buck gives christopher dating advice and it somehow goes to chris asking, “well how do you know that it’s right, that they’re the one?” and buck thinks of how chris is impossibly too young to know and that buck’s not even sure because has he found the one? doesn’t everyone feel like the one at some point? don’t you hope that it’s right, that this person is it?

and that’s his first initial thought, to say that, at this point the important thing is to have fun, to enjoy it, to make sure that he’s nice, that he’s also being treated nicely. but somehow in that thought process wouldn’t the one also feel like that? that you’re having fun with them, that you’re enjoying, that you love them and they love you back.

does the one make you feel like they have your back and you have theirs? do they make laughter come to you like nature intended, how easy it is for smiles to come? does the one make you want to start over recipes just to perfect it and see the satisfaction on their faces? does the one make you all warm and glowy inside when they say something that makes you want to crawl back to a younger version of yourself and hug that kid? does the one make you want to be better without even saying anything, with just the intention of being yourself with them? does the one think you’re worth it? do you think there ever needs to be pretending with the one?

and he’s silent but there are thoughts in his head and all he can choke out is, “you’ll know” and chris is curious see and he wants to know so he asks “how did you know? how do they make you feel?” and it’s not like they’re talking about a specific person and it’s not like specific person may be eavesdropping but buck’s voice comes out very soft and quiet and just, he didn’t even know it five minutes earlier but somehow he’s certain, “like i have a home.”

i feel like, in a daily, chris rushes into any room and screams "buck, the floor is lava!" and buck instantly jumps (and with instantly i mean chris screams floor and he's already standing) and picks him up and throws him into the couch or any soft surface.

this "tradition" started when he was a little younger and he did scream the floor is lava thinking buck would jump to save himself, but instead buck crossed the whole room to grab him and put both of them on the sofa, looking around scared like there actually was lava. chris laughed and told him he was too slow and his feet were burned by now and buck scoffed and said "i had to get you to safety first. how are we supposed to sail through the lava without our captain?" and chris absolutely loved it.

eddie loved it too but was too busy laying down crying on the lava to say anything.

edit: twenty years later, during christmas, Christopher crouches next to his son and softly whispers "tell grandpa the floor is lava". his son is confused but he does anyway, and buck jumps from his place, a big smile on his face as he grabs his two grandchildren and carries them to the couch, ignoring Eddie's screams of "you're not thirty anymore, evan, stop it!"

I need a fanfic where Buck's loft gets trashed for some reason, he has to move out and decides to move in with Tommy, but...he doesn't feel good.

Buck decides to go with Tommy because they are a couple and that's what couples do and his boyfriend is genuinely the perfect partner, but his couch is uncomfortable, his neighbors are noisy when Buck tries to sleep, Tommy never buys the right brand of beer...

And Buck puts up with it, because it's a new relationship and everyone tells him he has to get used to it and he really wants it to work.

But it doesn't feel good.

And one day, when Tommy has a 48-hour shift, he decides that's enough.

Eddie has been walking around a house that feels too quiet for almost a month and he just wants to scream.

Break something again.

And Chris is at a sleepover with his friends and Eddie doesn't know what to do other than watch a movie, until the door opens and closes so fast he thinks he imagined it, but no.

Buck is there, taking off his shoes, asking if he's okay and if Eddie has any beer and Eddie thinks it's all a fucking joke because...how dare he?

How dare Buck show up here, after a month of practically only seeing each other at work and only talking to Chris at night when they play on the computer?

How dare Buck come to his house, unannounced, using the key Eddie gave him?

How dare he come here, pretend there isn't a black hole between them that's been forming since Buck didn't choose Eddie's house as his new home?

With all these questions, Eddie turns off the TV, follows Buck into the kitchen, and decides that yelling all this is better than putting the broken furniture in his room back together for the second time in his life.

So... as the girl with the fanfic masterlist I want one with this plot where Buddie ends well after a big argument and maybe with a long dramatic kiss after Buck fixes his whole situation.

I'm sorry I'm sorry it's just...Buck is in every part of Christopher's life. He's been an integral piece of the Diaz fabric for literal years. The first time he meets Buck it's bc Buck is making sure Chris and Eddie can be reunited after the earthquake. Buck cements himself in Christopher's life amidst the uncertainty of his mom returning, and he never wavered in his devotion to this kid. He and Chris talk on the phone regularly, they hang out on weekends and after work and on days off, with or without Eddie. Buck was a part of their covid bubble. No matter what, they always have some line of communication with each other. Buck is the person Chris wants to go to when he can't or won't go to Eddie. They are a part of each other. I can't even imagine the ache Buck's absence will leave in Chris. All the big and little ways Chris will reach out to Buck like he always does just to remember Buck won't be reaching back. I need to lie down.

After a great breakfast and some talking i finally have the inspiration to write this idea, sooo new wip! Buck meets Chris as his boyfriend's son and not as his best friend's son

He met Eddie at work, just a false fire alarm at school, nothing serious.

Eddie talked to him, Buck flirted ( It's the first time he's flirted with a stranger since his days as Buck 0.1 ), he got his phone number and things happened.

They went on a date, in a cafe, it was one of the best dates Buck has ever had, and then they had another date at an Italian restaurant, and now they're at Buck's place.

Things between them are getting serious, so Buck leans towards Eddie with the intention of kissing him and...
