In order to make sure Carlisle would stay safe on his further travels Aro made sure no rumours of their romance escaped Volterra. Any vampire intent on speaking of their affair were quietly taken care of. Aro believed he owed his lover that at the very least. That being said, he was not himself for years afterwards and he had to restrain certain members of his family from tracking down Carlisle and dragging him back to The Palazzo.

Carlisle kept quiet about most of what happened in Volterra, simplifying the truth to such an extent it became another reality entirely. He had simply spent a couple of years tearing through their library, studying and establishing relationships with the guards; superficial ones of course.

It was not until much closer to our day and age he would begin referring to Aro as his friend, prompting some vampires to begin doubting what Carlisle had been doing in Volterra.

Carlisle did invite Aro to his wedding to Esme, it did not end well; Aro kissed Carlisle right before the ceremony and promptly fled.

It is a miracle Edward did not notice.

Behind him for the background is a section from the Green Knight manuscript, showing faded lettering and a green knight on a green horse standing in front of someone with a large axe while a crowd of spectators watch from the sides.

Sir Galahad's screen is now slightly motion-blurred, showing a reddragon's open mouth in front of Sir Galahad's face.

Panel 3 shows Sir Bedivere, labeled Tech Support, who wears a blue shirt and a plumed knight's helm, looking exhaustedly into the camera, pushing his helmet visor up with one hand. He is lit by blue light and has bags under his eyes, asking: "Hast thou sharest the screen?"

His background is of a library. Sir Galahad's screen is now taken up by the motion-blurred side of the dragon that is attacking him.

Panel 4 shows Sir Gawain turned slightly to the side, looking derisively at the camera, saying: "Yea, but I cannot hear Sir Galahad."

I've talked about this before, but emotional dysregulation is such a mother fucker aspect of ADHD.

Like, sure, not being able to regulate my attention sucks, but it's genuinely fucking nothing compared to the absolute rollercoaster of emotions I just went on because someone said something in a shitty tone, and now I'm having to actively walk myself through DBT methods lest my idiot shit for brains 'shiny-can't-sit-still-disorder' drop the match on that particular bridge because the rejection sensitive dysphoria feels like my chest is burning and not being able to act on the hurt feels like I'm suffocating under the weight of emotions pushing down on me and lashing out in anger is quicker than taking the time to self soothe.

And the annoying fucking thing is I know it's me.

I've done enough therapy to know my emotional response to their shittiness is overblown and dysregulated. I know I'm taking it to heart more than they could ever imagine.

And I've got to fucking sit with that and process it because if I don't, I'll be the inconsiderate cunt in this interaction and hhnnggg--wailing, gnashing, biting my thumb at you in the marketplace, etc, etc.
