If my mom sees a significant amount of blood she gets lightheaded, and has fainted on some occasions. Once it happened when we were kids, I wasn't there to witness it but I heard the story from my dad. Basically my brothers, around 7 or 8 at the time, were playing outside while my mom was making their lunch, and she accidentally cut her finger. It wasn't anything serious, but it drew a fair bit of blood and she passed out. My dad saw this and rushed over, but he didn't really know what to do so he just sort of started slapping her to wake her up (not recommended, but he had no idea and panicked)

At that exact moment my brothers both came in from playing, and all they saw was our mom unconscious on the floor and our dad slapping her. So, like, without even saying a word to each other they both just INSTANTLY start whaling on him, like, full blown attack mode to defend our mom. Which obviously didn't help the situation, but she did wake up and everything was fine.

Now our dad says that he's actually really glad they attacked him over what they thought was going on, because it means he raised good boys. And I still think that's true, they're very good boys.

#i think about this story sometimes like yeah I'm proud of them for that too actually. good job baby brothers #they're not babies anymore of course they're turning 20 next year which is crazy #but they're still the type of people who'd do something if they saw something of this sort happen for sure #respectful of women and everyone else too. they're good guys #I'm glad I ended up with them living in my house against my will for like 14 years #anyway i have no idea where i was for all this but my best guess is probably a friends house given the time period #i was always at my besties house lol #i hope she's doing well too actually. haven't spoken in forever...#bestie from greek elementary school... if you're out there... let's get muffins and fanta at the bakery across the street again someday 💜☮️

For tax purposes and also so JD could get country troll citizenship and also cause Delta is better at negotiating the rights to all the top quality million dollar songs he writes for other people that JD was previously using as bartending material to get like a sandwich or a cool rock.

Have you ever watched Elementary?

It’s a Sherlock Holmes adaptation that I actually really love. Sherlock is a literal definition of loveable asshole in this and although I don't usually like gender-swapping, Watson is a woman. It just works out really well. They don't get married or anything and there is zero romantic inclination between the two of them but they live in the same house and even in the end, they end up living in the same house. Like platonic life partners. They are super close and it's a whole thing.

Now the characters/relationship dynamics are not nearly the same with JD and Delta, but it kinda gives me that vibe. Coupling with my own head canon that a large portion of trolls are fulfilled with platonic relationships and bonds and have no need for romantic ones. Not all of them, of course, but some (kinda Jedi-esque almost? except with the Jedi it's more of a spirtual and platonic thing but that's a whole other essay)

Anyway, personally marriage is kind of sacred to me so it's slightly weird but the thought of JD and Delta getting legally married for tax purposes is kind of funny too. I think it would be more of Delta marrying him so he doesn't get thrown in jail or something. JD probably had no idea what taxes were and considering he has been living in the wild by himself, away from civilization for who knows how long, he'd definitely not be paying any.

That second part is even funnier! Can you imagine the bros reuniting and JD accidentally dropping how rich he technically is? But he plays it off like it doesn't matter because to him - it really doesn't. They could be talking about money and he'd just be like oh yeah, my wife takes care of that. Of course then he would have to explain THAT whole thing that Delta is his wife but also not his wife LOL

I think Delta would have to negotiate between money and actual items because lets face it, JD would still want the cool rock.
