Wally

The softest ship ever! Reading about them is so cute. All cuddles and snuggles, and full on comfort.

It's the best friends to lovers trope

Haven't read about them in a really long while but they used to be my comfort ship. Like these two are so soft each other that they just make me feel warm inside.

Roy

Roydick is my spicy birdflash ship. Their chemistry was more heated with them constantly getting into arguements but falling together again. Going back to the comics I realize that Roy hero-worships Dick and that's why they get into so many fights. Roy literally thinks Dick is too perfect

There's this post about them which provides comic panels about Roy constantly comparing himself to Dick

But mostly Roy wants all of Dick. He wants Dick's 100% attention of them and he hates-HATES-that Dick gives everything to Batman. It drives him so mad because he thinks Batman doesn't deserve any of Dick's attention.

Literally tells Batman- you ain't shit. I feel bad Dick had to deal with you. He doesn't deserve it for all the greatness he is.

Roy wants all of Dick and that's where I ship them including their complicated issues. What makes their relationship so great is their problems. Neither of them will compromise (Dick won't let go of Bruce and Roy won't let go of that issue), but after all the screaming and fighting they still fall back together.

It's Dick that Roy goes to every time he has to deal with Cheshire.

Kory!! I LOVE DICKKORY SO MUCH!!!

When I think of love, they are the epitome of it. I didn't know it was possible to feel love through paper until I saw them. One look at the chemistry is overwhelming.

"Questions about what's right and what's not, I'll always have them. Questions about my loving you? No! I do. Very much."

Dickkory love is stronger than Dick's moral ethics and Dick's moral ethics?

I've never seen Dick love anyone as much as he did Kory. There are issues that came up ofcourse. I'm pretty sure there was an anti-alien sentiment among the general public (real life?) that affected them and on top of that the Batman office wanting Dick back so they just ripped him away from the titans and rewrote a whole new love story for them while trashing Kory for it but when the public's reaction and Dick's "he's so perfect everyone wants him so let's play around with love interests for him" aside, they were the king and queen of love.

What I love about their relationship is Dick loved Kori for who she was, not how she looked. And Kori loved Dick for who he was and not how he looked. On both sides, sometimes all people see of them are their beauty not their personality or strengths or being.

Barbara

Barbara. The reason I held off on writing this.

My feelings about Barbara are complicated.

She and Dick used to be my OTP. I loved them so much I actually hated Kori for a bit, thinking that Barbara was so much better-when I was solely in the fandom. But oh how the table have turned. Very recently the feather broke the camel's back so my feelings about the two of them have changed.

Long story short, they're better off friends. But my favorite moments come from mostly short haired Barbara comics.

This Barbara was AWESOME. She was so chill and cool and funny. She would be smart but not in a demeaning way to others.

Apollo/Midnighter

love them!

I think Midnighter would totally seduce Dick into a frenemies with benefits arrangement. I mean he's halfway there.

But aside from the usual flirting, Midnighter really, really, REALLY respects Dick's fight skills. I'm sure you've seen the panels of that already but since posts have a 30 image limit I'mma skip over that to the other reason: his greater-that-meta-human tenacity. Things and circumstances that take out metahumans, Dick surpasses through sheer will power and dedication.

So I mostly ship Dick/Midnighter but Apollo would probably join in too at some point.

Constantine

Never getting over how John-I don't do things I don't have to-Constantine saved someone because their body was hot and and their butt looked good. But later on in the comic he talks about how cool he was and what he describes Dick as is when asked about him is:

nick/ellis- obviously top tier. my first ever otp. i could probably write an entire novel on why they are so good. one day im sure i will

nick/francis- gotta love an enemies to lovers story. we love buff middle aged men kissing

ellis/francis- this isn't really that popular but i think its hot and also cute too. ellis thinking francis is so cool and wanting to be like him... then he fucks him too? thats awesome

zoey/rochelle- i love lesbians what else can i say

louis/francis: super cute and their dynamic is so perfect lol

My thoughts on the apothecary diaries

(volumes 1 & 2 of the manga)

I'd like to write a review for the manga. Of course, it's just my subjective POV. I'm no professional reviewer, just a fan.

The (very) good

Maomao

If I had to pick knh's greatest strength, it's our protagonist.

Of course, many have noticed how we have an actually fleshed out female character, and that's great. But even by normal standards, she's awesome.

I could see both her strengths (levelheaded, curious, smart) and some weaknesses (too blunt, missing some social hints, getting carried away in her passion). She's also very expressive and it's delightful to see.

Finally, her sudden promotion is actually justified. She's helpful and smart.

The side characters

So far, no character has annoyed me (except maybe some maidens. But it's on purpose).

The rest of the cast may not be as fleshed out as Maomao, but they're all interesting.

I like how the concubines aren't villanized. We see how they themselves suffer, but also their qualities.

Lifa especially surprised me. I initially thought she'd be nasty, but she's quite nice. Her outburst at Gyokuyo becomes more interesting when we learn she isn't her normal self. She's just a sickly woman who's afraid for her son.

And of course, there's Jinshi. He's quite intriguing to me. He seems to put on some kind of facade in front of the others, one which matches his beauty, but it makes him seem shallow and annoying to Maomao.

Speaking of them.

The complicated relationship between Maomao and Jinshi

I talked about the characters in general, now, I'll focus on the "main" relationship.

(Right after Maomao X Poison, my OTP)

First of, yeah, Jinshi's a bit clingy with her 😅. I've seen some people dislike this fact, but personally, I don't mind it. It makes them imperfect and that's a good thing.

And it manages to stay funny instead of creepy (for now at least).

I'm pretty sure it'll become romantic, because I got spoiled 😅. Jinshi's clinginess and Maomao's comments kinda hint towards it anyways.

It's like a healthier version of "Enemies to lovers", though the first part is mostly one-sided.

(No actual hate or spite, just a bit of unease from her side.)

I seriously love how each one can throw the other off their game. Jinshi can't use his charm on her. But Maomao can't hide her schemes from him, he always catches her.

It's like a little mind game. Fun to read.

In volume 2, their interaction after the banquet felt different. I'm excited.

(also, if it becomes romantic, I'm pretty sure he'll realize his feelings way before she reciprocates, lol.)

The politics and commentary

I'm not that good with politics, so I could be wrong, but I like how knh delves into the palace (more specifically the harem).

We see how beautiful the concubines are, the lavish decorations in their rooms, but also the darker side of their lives.

The NINE YEARS OLD concubine (Lady Lishu), how women are put against each other and forced to always be careful in order to survive.

We also see how much damage superstition and ignorance can cause (r.i.p the prince), while most characters aren't dumb, but just used to the system.

There's also that sweet story on the woman dancing at night. We see how far she has to go just to reunite with her childhood friend.

Knh delves into many complicated themes inherent to the society in culture while staying tasteful.

The illustrations

Kudos to Nekokurage. The style is often cute and expressive, but some panels really are beautiful.

(like the final one in volume 1, with the woman dancing, or the freaking covers !)

The cuteness of the style doesn't make more serious scenes less impacting (like when Maomao gets angry at the maid).

Smaller points

The humor

Gyokuyo's three assistants are cute (though a bit foolish)

Other relationships (Maomao with Lady Lifa or Honnyan)

The mystery

The lack of useless fanservice

Maomao's past is acknowledged several times and not only in a negative way. Her background helps her. It's sweet.

The... less good

Although I really enjoyed reading this manga, there were some spots that (imo) can be improved or added on.

Pacing issues

I feel like some things are too fast or could be expended on.

Also, many months sometimes feel like mere days. For example, when Maomao first comes into the palace or when she spends time with Lady Lifa.

Some characters are too incompetent and mean for no reason.

MOST characters aren't dumb. There are exceptions.

It's probably made so Maomao seems even better in comparison. I don't really like this approach.

At least, the doctor is nice, but I would've liked to see him being useful. Maybe some flawed mentor figure for our protagonist.

Maomao can't do everything in this big palace. Seeing other people actually doing their job would be refreshing.

Also, that maiden Maomao slapped is a bit too "strawman" to my taste. Is beauty the ONLY reason why she gave Lady Lifa the notoriously toxic powder again ? Really ?? Is someone actually that stupid ?

It doesn't really make the moment less impactful, but a bit more frustrating (maybe it's made on purpose).

The science can be a bit vague

The vagueness can be justified by the context. This part is handled very well (like Maomao explaining what an allergy is without using modern terminology).

Especially when it comes to Maomao's immunity. I googled it and it only works under very specific conditions.

It's effective against venoms, not poisons.

It takes many years

It can backfire in the long run

It's a small problem, because expositing everything to the reader is not the way to do it and I actually don't hate this subtler approach.

There's nothing too unrealistic, but it's very vague.

Now, there are three options.

It's vague on purpose. Knh will delve into it later on. This approach would mean Maomao would suffer from her methods. I don't want her to be hurt, ofc, but it'd be interesting to delve into the problems of this method.

It'll be justified later on. Not exactly like 1, because the problems will be cancelled instead of solved (for example: she used this method since her childhood)

It will remain vague and we will have to suspend our disbelief.

Also, chocolate isn't an aphrodisiac for us, but knh somewhat explains that it's because they're not used to it like we are.

(Maomao can eat chocolate for example).

Again, it's vague but not completely incorrect, so it's just a little personal issue.

I expected a bit something like Dr. Stone that delves deeper into it, but knh's approach is also interesting. It's not like Maomao doesn't explain anything, she does, it's just more focused on the knowledge she can gather in their era.

Final thoughts

But it's not 100% realistic and focusing more on the "apothecary" part of knh (without forgetting the characters) would be beneficial.

I love this manga and although it has it's little flaws, it's really a wonderful discovery.

I'm very excited to learn new things about the characters (especially Maomao and Jinshi) and the palace in general.

I give it 8.5/10 🤩

Alright so this is real specific but I have feeling you’ll have a good answer. Are there any Taylor Swift songs that remind you of Stiles’s pov of Stydia or Lydia’s pov or both?

This is a fun ask! There are several actually. And specific is awesome, by the way. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to a new Taylor Swift song over the years, convinced that she watches Teen Wolf, is a fan of Stydia, and wrote the lyrics specifically for them.

Anyway, to keep this response from becoming an actual book, I’ll delve into three songs – one for Lydia, one for Stiles, and one for our OTP – and I’ll just list the others.

Let’s dig in…

– Begin Again –

This is a favorite of mine. Soft. Emotive. Nostalgic. It was the inspiration for the final chapter of Falling Slowly, a song that has always reminded me of Lydia (especially in s1/2). Seriously, it’s like a snapshot of the thoughts and feelings she would have been going through with Jackson – the power struggle, the conflict, the lack of connection, the disrespect. In the meantime, and happily-ever-after for us, she’s building this genuine friendship with Stiles. One of the many things I love about their development—something that, too often, gets overlooked—is how in awe of him Lydia must have been, the kind of awe that is so beautifully expressed in this song. If you look closely, it’s there…on their first date, and again when they go ice skating… Something in her expression that says: Oh, so this is what it’s supposed to be like. And who could blame her? Stiles is the complete opposite of Jackson. He lights a match to everything Lydia thought she knew about relationships, simply by being himself. Which is to say, someone who treats her right, who cares deeply for her, and who listens to her because he actually wants to know her. Someone who opens doors, and camps out in hospital waiting rooms, and pays attention to the things that matter to her because they matter to him too. For the first time, she’s realizing someone can appreciate and admire her for who she truly is, not just her outward appearance and popularity. And all it took was this cute-awkward, hyperactive but super-smart guy who laughs with the exuberance of a little kid to show her that real love isn’t something that hurts you. It heals you. That with the right person, you can always begin again.

– You Are in Love –

This is Stiles, through and through. Because he knew he loved Lydia for a long time, but it was from a distance. Then, he starts spending quality time with her, and it really sinks in: He is in Love. I can just picture Stiles having all of these *moments* – meeting by their lockers, sitting in class, driving Lydia home, stepping into her room, studying together, sharing peanut butter cups, seeing her snuggle into one of his hoodies – all of these little moments where he realizes he’s more in love with her than he ever thought. Moments where he senses their unspoken connection, the kind he can hear in the silence… Moments when he feels and—even with the lights out—sees that maybe, just maybe, Lydia is beginning to feel that way too... It's slow burn bliss, I tell ya! It’s love. True love.

– Everything Has Changed –

For the phrasing, obviously. Also, if you’ve read chapter 37 of Falling Slowly, (apologies for another shameless plug—it’s a year since I finished it, and I’m feeling super nostalgic) you’ll understand even more why this song gives me serious Stydia vibes. Not so much in the context of love at first sight, but rather, an awakening moment. Something that makes you want to know another person on every level, how with each new thing you learn, you want to know more and more. Always more. It’s about being affected by the little details. How your thoughts keep circling back to this other soul. The notion of letting someone in because—with or without explanation—being with them feels like coming home. If that’s not Stydia...

Invisible String (Taylor makes it so easy sometimes)

This Love (More fic inspiration. Actually, I was nearing the end of the one-shot that shares a title with this song when I realized how perfectly they aligned. So in this case, I guess it was more like subliminal inspiration, which definitely still counts.)

I’m Only Me When I’m with You (both of them, the cornerstone of Stydia's relationship)

For the ask thing? Here ya go! And please bear in mind that it's been a long while since I've experienced Trigger Happy Havoc, which I only encountered by watching a walkthrough that didn't do any of the free time events.

Favorite thing about them: He's not the smartest - both Byakuya and Junko probably has hive beat in terms of sheer intellect, and Kyoko could almost certainly solve the cases on her own. Even so, he's no idiot, and he succeeds by combining careful reason with a level of kindness and faith in his fellow human that none of those three can match. His decision to trust that Kyoko is lying for a reason is what ultimately exposes the mastermind and saves the survivors' lives. It's all too easy for mystery genre protagonists to set aside emotion for cold, hard logic - that's the impression I get from Kyoko (whom I like a lot, to be clear). Makoto won't play that way, and that's awesome.

Least favorite thing about them: playing Ultra Despair Girls taught me that a character can be a total normie and somehow make that a hilarious and fun personality to follow. Makoto can't even match his sister in that regard. Not that he needs to be quite like that, though. Saying my least fave thing about any DR character will still end in their favor.

Favorite quote: it's the most obvious pick, but as someone who'd never even heard of the games before watching THH's playthrough, I can't emphasize enough how much of a kick I got from him interrupting his classmates' lies and conjectures with the blunt and plainly rude "NO! THAT'S WRONG!" So friggin' funny. Makoto is nice, but he does not tolerate bullshit!

BroTP: Is it unusual to be a fan of Yasuhiro? I, for one, would enjoy a straight man/funny man duo between this overconfident yet easily spooked moron and his level-headed yet polite friend who pulls him out of jams.

OTP: I once followed a wonderful Tumblrite who was the world's foremost expert on Chihiro Fujisaki. He shipped her with Makoto and invented such a wonderful narrative for them, along with plenty of sweet art, that I was converted. They're so cute.

NoTP: I don't think much about ships, not enough to reject many with any intensity. Let me think ... every nice guy has their limits, and I can only imagine that Makoto would draw the line at the notion of dating Toko. She's a fantastic character in UDG, but such an unrepetantly irritating piece of work in THH. I like to think that he's skeptical, to say the least, of her ability to be a good partner toward Komaru when he first hears about them.

Random headcanon: this isn't the hairstyle he actually wants, he just can't figure out how to tell the barber what he wants done.

Unpopular opinion: what are the popular ones, anyway? Uhhh how about this. Blank-slate audience avatar characters get a lot of flack among writers and critics because they're usually just so functional (give the audience someone to relate to and follow) and boring (outshone by more colorful castmates). Makoto stands out in a franchise defined by titanic personalities just by taking everyone as they are, having the smarts to solve complex murder mysteries, and being a chill and friendly guy. He proves the value of the archetype and shows that characters of this stock can distinguish themselves.

DUSTIN HENDERSON FOR THE CHARACTER ASK

@mrfeenysmustache, dear, I am SO SORRY for not answering this sooner, but I needed to be home, and it takes me a LONG time to do these, and I wanted to make sure I gave Dustin his due justice, because I adore him and he deserves it. Let's go!

Favorite thing about them

Dustin is the darling of our Stranger Things crew (to me, anyway). I love his passion, his kindness, his sass. He's the best boy--the sunshine boy!--of the group. Will is either angsting or in danger, Mike is too into El to think about anything else, Lucas is trying so hard to fit in, and Dustin is just...himself. He owns who he is, and he's not afraid to embrace it. I think is part of what just makes him amazing. At an age where kids are trying really hard to find themselves, Dustin, in some ways, already has. He's a nerd, he's really fucking cool, and he doesn't really care who knows it.

Also--I will say more about this a little bit later--but he has this way about him, where he's able to connect to just about anyone. And I absolutely adore that about him, too.

Least favorite thing about them

Not so much about him, but I wish that his friends recognized his awesomeness a little bit more 🥲

Favorite line

I'm gonna go with two here:

"Mike, I found the chocolate pudding!" (If you are a fan of the old MTV show The State, you understand why this makes me laugh really hard.)

And, dealing truths: "Don't you think it's time you moved on from primitive constructs such as popularity?"

brOTP

This one I SUPER had to think about. Because honestly, it's pretty close between Eddie and Steve. I am gonna go with Steve here, though, and let me explain a bit about why.

When Dustin and Steve strike up their friendship, Steve is still immature, still thinks of himself as the Big Man on Campus (which, no dude, you graduated), still thinks of himself as god's gift to women, etc. He's kind of obnoxious still, and even though he's made progress since S1, he's still kind of a dick. It takes Dustin (and Robin, but that's for another time!) to help Steve grow up and become the chestly-haired man that we know and love today.

Dustin and Steve's friendship, to me, was unique, because they were, on the surface, opposites. I think Dustin brought out a side of Steve that was there all along--the kind, brave, compassionate side--but it took Dustin's encouragement and friendship to help Steve see that it was okay to be a little bit vulnerable, that it was okay to fight for what he wanted, and that it was okay to be who he was, both inside and out. I don't think we have the Steve Harrington of Seasons 3 and 4 without Dustin Henderson, and that's why I pick him for their brOTP.

Eddie is already fairly comfortable in his own skin, and he and Dustin have a much easier friendship. It's still awesome and special (see below), but I was thinking about whose life did Dustin change? Definitely Steve's.

Just look at the joy!! MY GOD I LOVE THEM.

OTP

I really like Susie for Dustin. He needs a really, really smart person who is going to appreciate his intelligence and his wit. She does both. I just wish she didn't live in Utah, because I want Dustin and Susie shenanigans, like all the time. But I understand why they can't be in the same town, let alone the same state. They would absolutely, totally, rule the galaxy.

nOTP

This one is a good question, too. I'm not sure! Maybe Mike. Mike needs to spend some time working on himself, before he can really be good in a relationship. (Side note: Dustin and Will would also be super, super cute, because Dustin would take such good care of Will 😭)

Random headcanon

After Dustin and Wayne Munson have their little moment at the end of Season 4, Dustin keeps coming to visit Wayne, who is living in a hotel while he figures out his next steps. He brings Wayne food, and books, and they sit and talk about everything and nothing. Dustin eventually brings Mr. Munson an old DnD set. Lucas, Erica, and Will come along with him, and they teach Mr. Munson how to play. And Mr. Munson takes over Eddie's spot in the Hellfire Club, and it's sweet and sad and magical and endearing.

Unpopular opinion

Dustin, my dude, keeping a Demogorgon in your house as a pet was not your best moment. I'm sorry.

Song i associate with them

I have been waiting for this one. 2022 Dustin is a big Greta Van Fleet fan, and whenever I hear Black Smoke Rising, I think of him. It's the perfect Dustin song.

Favorite picture of them

I couldn't find quite what I was looking for, because Netflix doesn't allow screenshots, but this moment I think it pretty close! (Although "most metal ever" is probably the exact moment I was looking for--that whole sequence just made me go 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼)

How i feel about the character: hes so great, such a toughie on the outside and an absolute soft marshmallow of a man for the people he loves, i love my dense himbo man your honor hes just swell

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Ned x Conseil for the win!!! I love this pairing they make me unwell (affectionate)!!! the no chill x all chill, braincell x no braincell, THE can-class-fish-but-cant-indentify-them x can-identify-fish-but-cant-class-them, truly a superb ship

My non romantic OTP for this character: the ned-nemo hostility gets me every time they hate each other so much its so funny, like theres no respect here and i live for it

My unpopular opinion about this character: hes VERY SOFT when conseil is affectionate!!! also hes bi!!! (also conseil needs to be added to whale of a tale asap just saying)

One thing i wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon: just "i want to see more of this miserable little man" in general, and it never would have happened cause it was like the 1800s but i want to see him slow dance with conseil let me dream

favorite thing about them - I love his goblin energy like he is a wild animal prepared to go apeshit at a moment's notice and I just think that's great for the kid. He has so much to prove all the time and this huge chip on his shoulder and hates being the youngest and hates being underestimated and he's so brave, but I think his total disregard for his own well-being is very telling and like can someone help this kid

least favorite thing about them - I don't have anything I dislike about Zoom he's a great character ten outta ten

favorite line - I can't remember the actual line but I loved when he called Stanford grandpa or something like that like please Zoom you are killing him

brOTP - zoom and stanford is such a great brOTP, I just love thinking that they could have this hilarious brotherly bond and like how is stanford used to brothers acting toward each other?? of course they give each other massive amounts of shit, stanford learned from the best (although we know he gets massively dunked on by zoom on the regular) - zoom and vert is the OG brOTP they're just adorable. Vert is clearly an only child I love that zoom was like "(points) THAT ONE" it really makes vert have to step back and think about how his actions influence others and I think his relationship with zoom helped him grow a lot as a leader while also giving him someone to be a stupid idiot with from time to time. Also vert being able to be the shoulder to lean on when zoom needs it way to go vert you did it, you're awesome dude

OTP - I think zoom/sherman would be pretty cute and it's so out of left field I know I know it makes zero sense and I haven't babbled about it so I can't even properly explain my thoughts on it just trust me it's cute (source: just trust me dude)

nOTP - nOTP gonna have to be zoom/zen for me

random headcanon - I think Zoom's mind is always busy, he's experiencing a lot of the world for the first time since leaving The Order and he keeps most of his thoughts to himself. So when he's making jabs at someone, being funny, etc, it makes people think he's not thoughtful, mature, and smart, but to Zoom, actions speak way louder than words. Unfortunately, it takes him a while to get good at properly demonstrating those thoughts into actions because he's very hung up on his own low self-worth and his huge need to prove himself and protect everyone else without regard to his own well-being. I think vert's been able to have frank discussions with him but he normally keeps his more complicated thoughts and feelings to himself until they boil over and he's too frustrated/upset to hold it in anymore.

unpopular opinion - once again idk if this is an unpopular opinion or not, I suck at this part but here goes. Zoom is so much more than the "uwu baby" of the team. What I mean is, I don't think he's super innocent so much as naive to a lot of the world due to living a sheltered and strict life up until now. Zoom's complicated! He's (understandably) frustrated and restless as hell and wants to experience living and doing what he wants and fighting for a cause he chose for himself instead of being held to an impossible standard and held on some pedestal and stuck, stagnant. I know he's the youngest so it's inevitable that he'd be seen as very innocent/pure/etc (and like yeah home boy is 16) but idk I just like to see more sides of his personality explored instead of putting him in that box if that makes any sense

My Favorite K-Dramas of 2020

Flower of Evil: A psychological thriller centered around a jewelry maker who is running from his past, and his cop wife (power couple alert!) who doesn’t know his original identity. The chemistry of the couple is amazing and all of the characters are nuanced and interesting. I was on the edge of my seat, AND sobbing! I’m going to be rewatching this in 2021 for sure.

Into The Ring: The perfect slice-of-life rom com! Goo Se Ra has trouble holding down a job due to her passionate personality so after she loses her latest job working for the ML, she decides to run for a small government office position because it pays a salary. Literally she does it for the money which is just *chef’s kiss.* The show is about her dealing with local politics and it’s SO FUNNY and smart and the OTP is the best!

Extracurricular: An unusual, fast paced thriller about an introverted high school boy mixed up in a prostitution ring. His crush gets involved and well, I don’t want to say what happens but it’s a wild and crazy ride. There really is not another k-drama like it. I like to refer to it as the least k-drama-y kdrama I’ve ever seen.

Cherry Magic! (30-sai made Dotei Da to Mahotsukai ni Nareru rashii): I know this is a Jdrama but it’s the only drama that got a perfect score from me in 2020! If you’ve never felt like trying a jdrama, Cherry Magic is the one! Every episode was so endearing and sweet, and it even has ace representation, and does it well! I basically smiled the whole time and loved every second. Soft Romance and the best couple!

A Piece Of Your Mind: This kdrama really captured my heart (even if the premise is a not for everyone). Using an AI software to capture the personality of someone, a group of people are pushed together by a person they care about who is no longer alive. It’s an unusual premise, but the AI takes a back seat to the romance, friendship and healing that so many of them need.

Where Your Eyes Linger: A super cute BL web drama about a boy who is hired to be his friend’s body guard. There is a lot of tension and pining, and I fell in love with the stories pacing and the chemistry between the two leads.

Gaduri Sushi: A cute web drama about a tarot reading sushi restaurant owner who gets a new neighbor. It’s a funny and sweet romcom.

Kairos: This action packed fantasy thriller is so not my genre but it had me on the edge of my seat. Han Ae Ri, a hard working shop assistant ends up with a phone that can call Kim Seo Jin, a wealthy conglomerate employee one month into the future. They have a crime to solve and need to work together (kinda like Signal). It did have some flaws toward the end, but overall it was a solid and interesting drama.

Hospital Playlist: This slice-of-life drama featuring five college friends who all work at the same hospital came to my mind first. Chae Song-Hwa is one of the most interesting characters I’ve ever seen in a drama and I love the depth and care the drama gives to every single person featured. There is some romance but it’s the hospital and friendship dynamics that make this show a must see.

Psychopath Diary: Super fun psychological thriller. Yoon Shi Yoon plays a goofy and innocent character who witnesses a murder and then gets amnesia. For kdrama reasons he’s convinced he’s the actual murderer and begins to lean into the role. The whole thing is a bunch of crazy mixups but the chemistry between the innocent guy and the killer is just...awesome! It’s funny and creepy and a great watch.

Psycho But It’s Okay: A gorgeous k-drama using fairytale narrations as a backdrop, features two brothers who lost their mother, and a beautiful & famous author who grew up in a traumatic and abusive household. Everyone is very closed off and holding onto intense pain, but the three come together to help one another move on and find happiness. Gorgeous angsty and melodramatic romance. Best friendship ever, and literally the prettiest lady I have ever seen.

Mystic Pop Up Bar: A fantasy drama featuring three souls who are tied together because of a painful past. The leading lady is punished by the afterlife to help settle grudges and the she enlists the help of a soft customer service boy who can read minds and another afterlife employee. They are the most hilarious and adorable trio ever to have trioed (is that a word?). If you like found family, you’ll love this.

XX: A girl power web drama about a bartender who lovers her job but ends up working for her ex best friend. It’s got a mellow and unique vibe for a k-drama (I’m pretty sure it’s inspired by Search: WWW), the romance is soft AND she has a gay best friend.

Crash Landing On You: A South Korean celebrity accidentally ends up in North Korea for k-drama reasons and is helped by a soft hearted soldier and his crew. It’s one of those totally ridiculous plot lines that makes a K-drama a k-drama - You know, the ones with chaebols and all sorts of tropes, and a lot of plot that ignores reality. Still, the couple is adorable, the found family is amazing and the romance is just epic.

Shows that haven’t ended yet but might make the list: The Uncanny Counter, Lovestruck In The City, Run On, True Beauty (I mean it’s a long shot for that one but you never know! :)

I'm a bit confused. You said in one post that you thoroughly dislike Hermione and that you had no respect for her at all. Yet ... you like Romione? idk, it seems contradictory tbh. I like when Romione shippers acknowledge her flaws and messed up moments but when someone that dislike and even hate her character that much ships Romione and I see them posting about them and calling them "cute" just seems weird

I’ll share with you my whole thought process so you can understand where I’m coming from:

Itty-bitty Vivi who read Harry Potter for the first time (at 13/14, so not so itty-bitty I guess, oops): Woaaah Hermione and Ron yaay!!! They're awesome I love them! They're my OTP always and forever!! Best thing to happen in Harry Potter!! JKR is a genius!

Slightly less itty-bitty Vivi discovering the Harry Potter fandom online (thankfully years after the ship wars, else I probably wouldn't have survived): Why is there so much hate towards Ron? And why are people so opposed to Romione?? It was meant to be since the first book! Or, okay, the second book is when I realized it was gonna happen, but still! Oh well, here is a fic where Hermione berates Ron for everything and he is the only one actually working for their relationship. Cool, more Romione!

Even less itty-bitty Vivi starting her own Tumblr and going around, adding her grain of salt to debates and talking about stuff: Yeah! Ron is great! He's done bad things of course but Hermione has done her fair share of bad things too! Actually, now that I'm rereading the books, I'm reminded of this person I used to call a friend, who was quite smart and cultured but would often be very harsh to me because they claimed it was “for your own good" and “because I'm more mature than you"… I still wanted to be around them, because they were just so smart and passionate, but we often rowed and eventually they really just went too far and tried to make ME out to be the bad guy and most people believed them because they had a reputation as someone cool and logical while I was known for being emotional… wait, what the fuck, that's… that's exactly what happens in the fandom with Ron and Hermione! What the fuck, was I Ron? Admired their intelligence, praised and supported them, fell in love even but was met with scorn and open disdain?!… no, no, come on. Hermione wasn't that bad.

Vivi rereading Half-Blood Prince (and no, this wasn't about the canaries, but about what Hermione was doing after): Oh my god she was that bad.

Vivi as she ponders alternately: Wait, what about JK Rowling? What does she think about all that? What was her intention, what did she want to accomplish with the characters? I know books belong to their readers but if I want as objective an analysis as possible I must try to understand her thought process while she wrote.

Vivi learning about a staple of British literature called “literary alchemy”: The quarreling couple!! Sulfur and Mercury, the Red King and the White Queen, who must marry for the story to end happily!! And their union is represented by… a rose!! Oh my god, that is brilliant, that is so cool! Romione was ALWAYS going to happen, I knew it! Ha!

Vivi discovering the “[Ron] needed to make himself worthy of Hermione” quote: Wha… but… what? Worthy? As if Hermione was some sort of precious trophy or whatever? What the hell? Wait, Ron had to make himself worthy of her but Hermione didn't have to make herself worthy of him? Is it because Ron is the boy or some shit like that??

Vivi going through JK Rowling's interviews and finding sexism and double-standards galore: Yep, it's because he's the boy. And that bit about Hermione being based off herself when she was younger… ouch. And to top it off the scriptwriter pretty much worshipped Hermione…

Vivi rereading the books again: Is it just me, or does Ron hardly ever get any praise or acknowledgement from the adult characters? Meanwhile Harry and Hermione get stuff like “as good as Charlie Weasley" or “brightest witch of her age"! And, damn, I used to side with Hermione because I love cats, but she was completely awful in POA! She apologized but then the plot made her out to be right even then?? And I always thought her Yule Ball entrance was kinda over-the-top, but damn if that's not compensating for something! Also what the hell, I get that Harry is suffering and all but will someone PLEASE pay attention to the fact that Ron is being bullied BY A FOURTH OF THE STUDENT BODY AND NOBODY SEEMS EVEN REMOTELY CONCERNED????? Also what the hell is wrong with the sixth book, I never liked it much but it's like it's trying to make every character look bad, wtf?? And, and, holy shit I never noticed but Ron was asking legit questions during the Horcrux Hunt debate but Harry kept deflecting or mocking him but it's still Ron who had to apologize in the end??? And I've read a whole post about how Hermione punching Ron is the appropriate reaction for a very small child and not a supposedly “mature" character, and that Harry had to SHIELD RON FROM HER, oh my god?? It's… oh my god, what the fuck is wrong with JK Rowling?

Vivi, in denial: Well, Harry Potter is decidedly not a romance. It's about love, but romantic love is quite far down the priority list when it comes to it. JKR has herself confessed that she wasn't too good at writing romance, and I don't blame her because writing romance is hard. But I did enjoy Romione! When I was little I saw it coming from a mile away, granted I was already savvy in literature but that must have been because she was doing something right! And then the sixth book happened… the sixth book which… which was released after the Harry Potter movies were being filmed, wasn't it?

Vivi looking up the timelines: Oh my god. Oh my god it's even worse, the movies were being discussed before Goblet of Fire came out. Come to think of it, I always found that the Trio felt… different, after Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry and Ron especially felt like they had gotten dumber? And Hermione was suddenly explaining everything when exposition used to be split between her and Ron…

Vivi, in mourning: So that's what happened. Ron ended up being shortchanged to make Hermione look better, because Rowling was fonder of Hermione than she was of Ron, and the scriptwriter too come to think of it. Curse you, Steve Kloves!!!

Vivi, who is nothing if not what Pokémon fans call a nostalgiafag: But… but… yeah, it sucks that Ron was shortchanged, and actually yeah it's a freaking travesty and I WILL freaking spread the world about this, mark my words, but, but I still… I can't help it, when Hermione “looked up at Ron and her frostiness seemed to melt" I melt too. When Ron compliments Hermione or tries to take care of her as much as he can I… it still does something to me, I still find myself rooting for them even if I know there's the awful sixth book and the stupid post-Locket beatdown. Their kiss, for God's sake, I've just realized that Ron may have swept Hermione off her feet physically, but it's Hermione who jumped him, you could say Hermione metaphorically swept Ron off his feet!! God damn it, that's good, that's so good!

Vivi, at war with herself: No, I can't let myself be blinded by nostalgia!! The facts are that Hermione shows borderline abusive - even actually abusive - behaviour, this can't be denied! I don't want to root for an abusive relationship! I don't want to root for a relationship that relies on my favourite character being dumbed down to work!!!

Vivi, about to uncover the secrets of the universe: … wait a second. I don't have to.

Vivi, having an epiphany: Reading Solstice Muse's Romione fanfics gives me such happiness because she just gets the characters! She doesn't portray Hermione as perfect and never fucking up, and she always treats what happens to Ron with respect… Well, especially since she can't play them off as a joke since she often makes Ron the POV character. But, yeah! I can still like Romione… if it's well-written. Which, well, isn't the case in the original books… at least, isn't the case anymore after Rowling's bias got the best of her. Even though they do have their great moments.

Vivi, finding purpose in her life: I am going to spread awareness. I am going to tell the world. Fuck, just rereading the books, I've noticed how blatant the favouritism is and how unbalanced it can be. No wonder the fandom seems to collectively scoff at Ron - the books themselves do whenever it's convenient for them! The fandom plays favourites, because the author herself played favourites, and the worst part is that she didn't even realize it! Imagine you spend your life getting into traumatic situations out of love for your friends who always receive compassion and validation for their feelings about said traumas, but YOUR trauma is hardly touched upon and in the rare case it is, it's only to be mocked or used against you… Fuck! You're a piece of work, JKR! And the fandom just swallows it whole like a bunch of lobotomized snakes! Screw it! Screw it, I'm going to say it like it is, and I'm going to say it LOUDLY! People are going to hear about what Ron goes through and we'll see if Harry and Hermione look like the only ones worthy of therapy then!!

Present day Vivi, as she scrolls through the (heavily filtered) Romione tag on AO3: Ugh, another Drarry… and another… and another… oh, a Hinny-centric fic for a change, cool but I'm looking for more Romione than that, sorry. Gah, why is it that Romione appears as a secondary ship everywhere but they can't get their own stories? I've just seen a Snupin come up for God's sake! Oh, finally, a full Romione!! *clicks* … … … awww that was so sweet. Kudos! Okay back to the search… oh, another one!! *clicks* … … … it's Ron-bashing. It's Ron-bashing and it's not tagged Ron-bashing and that's why it showed up in my search AND I'M GOING TO FREAKING RIOT-

Since I was never involved with HXH I just gonna answer this for FMA 😅

5 favorite characters:

Ed and Al are surely high on this list! These boys went trough so much and still found the strenght to be the most gentle and kind human beings, even if it took so much for them to be like this. Nothing but respect from my side!

Also Scar and his brother! I can‘t tell how much I love these guys and their tragic story! Not only are their character designs so awesome and breathtaking, Scar‘s story concluded in the probably most perfect way. I will never shut up about my feelings for them!

For the fifth character, it‘s a head to head race between Winry and May, but by the slightes Winry wins for being not only badass, but also super sweet!

3 OTP's:

Shipping is not really a thing I care too much in FMA, because there is going on too much in this manga for me (or any of the characters) to care about this 😅😉

But Edward and Winry are a wonderful pairing and I‘m so glad they got their happy end. They really deserved it!

Also Alphonse and May are just too great to ignore them, and not to forget Hohenheim and Trisha! I just have a soft spot for (mostly) healthy relationships between parents, and I was the happiest Snickers to witness they could stay together in the end, even it may only be in heaven or afterlife (whatever works in the world of FMA).

Funniest character:

Prettiest character:

Now that‘s hard! I can‘t really tell, since looks are not the first thing I search in a character, but let me tell you two tropes I love in character design: Finally being happy after walking trough mud and blood and despair or being beaten up to the point of bleeding trough several wounds. That‘s when I think characters are the most beautiful and yes, I know, that‘s very, very weird.

Most badass character:

Again, FMA has too many great characters that I could answer this question with only one answer, but the first one that comes to my mind is Alphonse!

Look at him: He‘s a child, living since years a life every other one could only curse, and yet stayed his friendly, positive self, even if the world tries to deny him even this. On the other hand, he‘s funny and sarcastic and on top of this, he falters no longer to save the world and mostly his brother, even if that means he has to let go of everything. Alphonse, my beloved 💛💙🧡

Character I'd like as my BFF:

Why not May? She seems to be fun yet so incredible smart! May could surely teach me the wonderful art of her countries alchemy (and I would probably got to wear cute pink outfits and who doesn‘t want this? 🌸🌺🌷

my unpopular opinion about this character: um i think people get joseph really wrong a lot (it’s none of my friends and mutuals it’s mostly really popular caejose) and i find it weird when people r horny for him <\3 i think it’s cuz i draw joseph like woody from toy story so it’s just me LOL

one thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: MORE MOTORCYCLE MOMENTS. caesar should have ridden it w him like they do in the movies. u kno what i mean

Luz Appreciation Week Day 6 (Shipping Day)

Alright so I've had this one ready to go since October 6th. Why? Because it is literally my own experience. Well the "oh" realization. I've never actually crushed on anyone.

(I'm not good with romance so I would've skipped this but I was determined to give Luz all the love she deserves, dammit!)

Crushes and romance fell into a category Luz Noceda was not an expert on. While yes, she's written fanfics regarding the topic and has watched her favorite characters fall in love and squeal over her OTP, realistically speaking, it wasn't something she herself was familiar with.

She's had her moments back on earth where she found the smart band kid who sat in the middle row of her science class cute or the volleyball player attractive because they were in similar fandoms but nothing serious.

And then Grom happened. Of course she didn't realize how much it bugged her that Amity was going to ask someone out, until after. When she asked if she could help the witch ask out her crush which was a pretty stupid thing to do.

But now that things had sorta calmed down and Luz didn't have to worry about her mentor’s curse (as much.) She was able to breathe and relax and figure out how to deal with her complicated feelings towards Amity.

At least they were friends if today was anything to go by. Amity had started hanging around her more and the two of them had sat outside their potion class while waiting for the next period to start.

"So since we're going to have a sub today, that means no homework." Amity casually stated as she leaned against the classroom door. "And from what I've heard you had a lot of test today, right? So no homework either?"

"Yep," Luz nodded brightly as she sighed. "Gosh, it's nice to be free."

"Hm, well I'll be training after school. My parents are finally letting me out of the house more."

"Amity, that's awesome! Where are you training at?"

"The area around the Grom tree. It's pretty quiet there."

"Tell me how it goes. You're super powerful so you'll do great."

"Do you wanna come with?" Amity asked and Luz swore the tips of the witch’s ears were red.

"Not after school," Luz shrugged.

"Please?" Luz blinked in surprise and part of her felt really bad to reject her friend's request. She wanted Luz to train with her.

"Sorry, Amity," Luz sighed sympathetically. "I can't. I have plans with Eda."

"It's fine!" Amity blurted out and Luz easily brushed it off. "Maybe another time."

It was closer to dusk and Luz found herself in the living room skimming over a book Eda was planning on tossing out. There were several other things she rather be doing than helping her mentor sort through her unorganized piles of books, but Eda had lost a bet and Luz had found herself dragged into it.

The teen picked up a very disregarded book that she could clearly tell was a badly written romance novel and the earlier events of the day caught up with her.

"I think I got asked out."

A sound that reminded Luz of a cat choking on a hair ball escaped Eda as she choked on her cup of apple blood, a thud followed via King dropping whatever he was holding, and Lilith slammed her book shut. Luz found the sight amusing of three pairs of wide eyes staring at her.

"You think?" Lilith repeated in confusion but no judgment was in her tone.

"Umm yeah," Luz smiled sheepishly and she quickly explained the story.

"Wow," King huffed in amusement when Luz finished.

"So umm...did I get asked out?" Luz questioned as she desperately looked at Eda and Lilith for an answer.

"Ya, kid you did," Eda chuckled as the teen groaned and hid her face in her hands due to embarrassment.

"I didn't notice," Luz sighed in defeat she she leaned into her mentor’s shoulder.

"Luz," King sighed deeply as he rubbed his skull. "HOW DID YOU NOT NOTICE THAT?"

"I'm sorry!" The teenager let out another groan of embarrassment as Eda ruffled her hair. "I don't get asked out. How was I supposed to know?!"

"Luz." King groaned and pointed to Lilith who was hiding her facial expressions behind her book, "Even Lilith knows you got asked out."

"Does everyone know besides me?" Luz looked up Eda with pleading eyes.

"Sorry, kiddo." Eda gave no protest when the teenager demanded a hug.

"Now I have to fix this!" Luz screamed and Eda began to rub comforting circles on the teen's back.

"Fix?" Lilith questioned and Luz noted the book was down.

"Amity probably thinks I rejected her!" Luz pulled out of the hug and began pacing. "She asked me out and I said no! I didn't know she asked me out. I have to-"

"Wait." Eda grabbed her student by her hood with a smirk on her face. "You like her, don't you?"

"Yes!" Luz couldn't remember to be embarrassed or flustered at confessing. "Eda, how do I fix this?"

"Oh, geez." The witch in question glanced at the demon nearby and he quickly made his way to excuse himself.

"Nope," King shook his head. "I'm not apart of this. Good luck, Luz."

"Edaaaaa," Luz sent her mentor a desperate look and Eda scratched the back of her hair awkwardly.

"Um, Lily-"

"She asked you for help." Lilith raised an eyebrow, "And I'm amused to believe you think I am qualified for this."

"Kid," Eda sighed in defeat.

"Yeah?" Luz responded with an excited gasp.

"Would kidnapping her be considered too much?"
