Personally I don’t expect team rwby to solve all bigotry, but I’d like to see them make any sort of attempt to at least begin to change something? Even relatively small scale?

The SDC seemed like the perfect opportunity but nope,

And maybe don’t kill,of characters like sienna and have characters like Robyn hill who are actively trying to combat class inequality get competed into fighting Salem instead

Movies like nimona manage it I don’t see why rwby can’t

This is the last time I'll be answering an ask to do with these issues in RWBY. I don't feel that there's a satisfactory answer, and certainly not one that I can provide. I've mentioned something along those lines before, but I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you're not the same anon and didn't see my posted answer.

I recently reblogged a post about these issues, but that doesn't mean my answer has changed. That post basically said there is no simple fix, and that means it isn't possible to do in RWBY, unless it was a fictional fix that wouldn't work in reality, which would be disrespectful.

I'm not sure what you expect four teenagers to be able to do, even small scale. They're good at fighting Grimm, but that doesn't mean anyone's going to pay attention to them about anything else.

Ruby's lucky at least some people listened to her broadcast about Salem, but that's connected with Grimm.

Weiss was the SDC heiress but ended up having that taken away before she could do anything good with it, and actually doing anything would have had to wait until her father was no longer in control.

Blake persuaded Menagerie's faunus to form a militia and help save Haven from Adam's corrupted White Fang, but that took a serendipitous attack on her parents and their house partly burning down. She can't command that militia to do anything else.

Yang would struggle to persuade anyone to do anything. The last time Remnant at large saw her was during the Vytal tournament broadcast, apparently breaking Mercury's leg unprovoked. The CCT is still down, so chances are most people have no idea she was set up. I dunno, maybe she could intimidate some sense into people?

I'm not sure when team RWBY would have had time to do anything while in Atlas. Ironwood kept them busy. Were they supposed to take down or reform the SDC with the one night off they had? If they'd tried they might well have found themselves arrested, the SDC and its Dust is rather important to the Atlas military. And then where would they be with their goal of getting the second Relic from the Atlas vault?

As for after things fell apart with Ironwood... As important as these issues are, avoiding arrest and doing their part to help get word out about Salem, or helping Mantle and then rescuing Oscar had priority.

It's not the reason they've done it, they just happened to fall in love, but I guess it could be argued that Blake and Yang's romance is some sort of proof that faunus and humans are equal.

After Salem is eventually somehow defeated, I can imagine at least Blake working with or even leading the reformed White Fang and campaigning for faunus rights. I'm sure the rest of her team would help her if there's anything they can do.

But survival against Salem has to come first. So a huntress like Robyn Hill doesn't really have any choice. There won't be any world to improve if Salem isn't stopped.

As for Sienna, take that up with Adam. I'd much rather she hadn't been killed off too, but there was no other way that was going to end between them.

That's the best I can do, anon. I'm well aware it's not a great answer. I can't provide one. I don't think there is one.

I haven't seen Nimona, I don't have a Netflix subscription. Maybe I'll watch it the next time I want to rewatch She-Ra. I've read the Nimona graphic novel years ago, but I don't remember bigotry being solved in there. Unless you meant an attempt being made? I need to reread it.

Years after the war, Blake and Yang are happy, married, and ready to start a family. The day Blake finds out she's pregnant is supposed to be the happiest of her life, but everything changes when she finds out Yang got lost in a mission and is considered dead. Now she has to take care of the little life they created together alone, memories of Yang accompanying her every step of the way, and make sure that their child will know about her mother and how extraordinary she was.

Happy Bumbleby Big Bang 2023, I can finally post this!

I'm so sorry it took me so long, here there's a big italian comicon I've been going to with friends in these days, which means I've been sleeping like 4-5 hours each night while spending all day out walking and visiting and doing stuff these days. Lots of fun, but I am exhausted, it's almost midnight now and I have probably half neuron left.

Anyway, all my love and thanks go once again to @growing-magic for being nice fun and very patient with me, not even mentioning the AMAZING art she made for my story! Thank you friend!

Weiss and Jaune: Chemical Wedding 2.0

Weiss and Jaune have begun another chemical wedding this season, and it parallels the second chemical weddings of Ren and Nora and Blake and Yang (Ruby and Oscar have still thus far only had their first).

Okay, okay, I'll back up. I previously wrote this about chemical weddings in RWBY. A chemical wedding is massively important for alchemy stories. It can be platonic, but is most often romantic. RWBY has, in particular, been using direct inspiration from classic alchemical art to illustrate when they've had one.

This scene in RWBY Volume 9 is no different.

Lyndy Abraham notes that

the chemical wedding... [has] the lovers frequently personified by Sol, and Luna, sun and moon. Edward Kelly wrote In this art you must wed the sun and moon.

Herb has a sun and moon symbol on him. Look at his chest. (Link goes to the more simplistic version, but the combined sun/moon is in the image below, from Manly Palmer Hall manuscript 14).

Not only that, but the framing emphasizes that Jaune is Sun and Weiss is moon. Jaune is in the sunlight. Weiss stands in the shadows. In alchemy, shadow is associated with the moon.

Chemical weddings also almost always involve elements of death. In fact, it is death as "Mercurius" that often unites them; in RWBY this is frequently an antagonistic character. Adam for Bumblebly, the Nuckelavee for Renora, and previous Cinder and now the Curious Cat for Weiss and Jaune.

For those who have had two weddings so far, Bumbleby and Renora, we see that their first and second chemical weddings were inverses of the first. Blake and Yang were first targeted by Adam and hurt. Then, they fought Adam and defeated him together. Ren and Nora saved each other but had to leave their village. Then, Ren and Nora defeated the Nuckelavee together.

In Weiss and Jaune's, Cinder taunted Jaune about letting Pyrrha die and about his own sense of self-importance/identity.

Jaune: What is wrong with you...? (seething) How can you be so broken inside... to take so many lives, and then come here and rub it in our faces like it's something to be proud of?!...

Cinder: (chuckling) I'm starting to remember you, you're the dense one that can't tell when he's out of his league....

Cinder: You're just a failure with a death wish.

Cinder also tells Jaune "are you going to let [Weiss] die too?" in reference to Pyrrha. She slides her gaze towards Weiss before throwing the spear at her. Guess what the Cat does?

The Curious Cat also taunts Jaune by appearing as Penny, and then as Pyrrha, mocking him with the two women whose deaths he feels responsible for. Plus, the dialogue between the Cat and Jaune reads very familiar.

Jaune: You... you didn't. You MONSTER... you were the one who killed--who LIED--

Curious Cat: You were never a brave knight either! Just more fairy tale nonsense!

Except, instead of Cinder hurting Weiss to hurt Jaune, this time the Cat gets Weiss to hurt Jaune directly.

These are all references to this classic chemical wedding art:

And this one depicting a chemical wedding occurring at a tree from a 17th century Speculum Veritatus (which, for what it's worth, means "Mirror of Truth" in Latin, and Weiss's song is called Mirror, Mirror... that's quite possibly a coincidence but it's so funny I had to mention it).

Anyways, chemical weddings typically involve most of the elements. This takes place on a tree (earth), Weiss shoots fire at him, and Jaune lands in a plume of purple air. We've got (most of) our elements.

What happens next? Well, each chemical wedding signifies a change in relationship. Ren and Nora embark on a journey together as kids, then hold hands. Bumbleby run away from each other (separation is a part of the process) and then start a romantic attachment before their final elevated chemical wedding this season (which we still haven't had for Renora yet). Weiss and Jaune become friends and start hanging out after the first one. I would bet this kickstarts a romantic attachment, especially since we've had a couple hints of Weiss developing attraction to Jaune this season.

Besides, Jaune's whole arc has been about being remade and refined from lead into gold. He healed Weiss in the last chemical wedding; I would bet Weiss heals him in a sense this time, but also that Jaune does in fact get remade into something fully gold this time... (and also someone young lol; he's clearly not staying old). Jaune getting a new body during a chemical wedding? Is also, well, alchemically sound.

Lyndy Abraham notes:

The separation of the soul from the body is to free it from its age-old attachment to the body so that it can transcend the turmoil and pull of the merely natural forces of matter. The separation of the soul is a kind of "death" to the world.... the subsequent reunion of this spiritual awareness with the new, purified body means that knowledge gained in a higher state of consciousness can now be put into action, made manifest in the phenomenal world. At this point the male and female energies are united and balanced...

Jaune and Weiss should be able to enter the world of Remnant in a new kind of equilibrium, a la Bumbleby and Renora in the past.

Rosegarden - "SLOWMOTION" by TREASURE

What I love about this song is it speaks about taking your time to go deeper, slower, in the moment. It also gives deep comfort or ease. This song best suits Rosegarden in my opinion because from how I see Rosegarden, as the world is going faster that it's heavier to carry its heavy weight, they find as if the world became slower and lighter the moment they see each other.

Overall, the vibe just suits 😌🥰❤💚

Renora - "But You" by iKON

One, I can definitely see Ren singing this to Nora.

Two, this song tells about how sure that the girl, he used to be in a relationship before, is the only one for him no matter what and would want to start over again which I think suits them sooo much. Plus, I think this is something how Ren would really deeply feel about Nora even especially how they are currently.

Lines:

(1) You're the reason. I need you baby

(2) Start over and fall in love

(3) We know each other better more than anyone else

(4) Nobody but you

Bumbleby - "Bet You Wanna" by BLACKPINK

They're high for each other. They're hooked for each other. Just look at the gif. Does that not speak volumes to you??? /hj

Anyways, yes, this song has the whole vibe of being high because of their partner. Blake and Yang have always been clingy and whipped for each other and this song expands that idea more. This song is playful and teasing like their love language so it's this I choose.

This song kinda mentions a lot of fire too.

(2) Something 'bout me's takin' you higher and you ain't ever gonna come down.

Blacksun - "Thank You" by TREASURE

Both Blake and Sun are thankful for being with each other. There are so many lessons and memories they've made from each other and I guess it's time to say "Thank you". They wish each other good things in the world. That's the whole point of the song, just being thankful and moving forward. Also, the vibe or the music just suits them a lot.

(2) All we have to do is walk on the flowery path

(3) Instead, I promise you don't get sick and I hope you meet a good person.

(4) Thank you so much, I was so happy

Tauradonna - "KILL THIS LOVE" by BLACKPINK

Arkos - "Shout Out" by ENHYPEN

Honestly, everything about arkos makes me associate everything specifically about being true to your feelings which I think relates to the song about "shouting" it out and considering how Pyrrah was always keeping her feelings to herself.

This song also has that beautiful vibe I feel for this ship.

Lines:

(1) The fake paradigm that locked me up beyond the border line drawn by someone, I shout out, and this is my shout out. I'm all for myself.

Everything here is only based on how I interpret both the songs and the ships. This is really fun to make!

What the….?! and this alucín?

Okay, I can't blame anyone for looking for content on the "fun social network". However, the comments of a certain person have caught my attention. And it wasn't until my curiosity have rewarded me with something that really left me with "My honest reaction". And this was My honest reaction:

And specifically, this was the "compilation" of posts that prompted me (in these moments) to simply share my thoughts on his comments. NOTE: It seems confirmed that the user is probably CanonSeeker [yeah, "Ese loco del centro de la ciudad"] so the "exposure" to his twitter profile can be useful for Content Creators or simply fans who want to avoid him. So do not think about debating with him since it would be in vain,and in addition to wanting to talk about his comments.

Now yes, to the posts that I want to dissect

First the antecedent

"Everytime somebody triest to "FIX" RWBY" ?

Here he expresses himself on how the "Fanworks" of the "Fix Fic" category are based on misrepresenting every aspect of the canon.

Although here I will say that I have no references regarding "Fix Fic" in general beyond Celtic Phoenix's "Fixing RWBY".

I start about how he falls into the "generalization" that he gives to the "Fix Fic". And my comment is about how prejudiced he is when talking about said FanWorks.

Although, it may be that before I fell into this fandom there was a time when this type of FanWorks abounded but coming to sin the same or worse errors than those of the series or simply wanting to be pretentious.

But even so, it is not about invalidating that at the end of the day a "Fix Fic" can be considered a fic where the author has to be committed to fixing aspects of it without having to separate so much from the canon, being like a challenge for the author.

And now let's get to the subject.

This user has commented on suggestions to consider for a "Fixing RWBY" and here is the "short" list of suggestions that Dori/CanonSeeker has shared...

My quickest and most sincere reaction:

It is an exaggeration to consider this list as very long, but it is the specifications shown that are "eye-catching". So well lets see line by line the list. My points are mainly focused on the "Fix Fic" section. In which, from my perspective, a "Fix Fic" tries to stay within the events of the canonical series, while at the same time deciding to rewrite elements that were not satisfactory within the canonical execution or additionally add elements that do not try to unbalance of the canon. So, let´s begin:

"Try to focus on the female protagonists." "jaune is a side character. " "Do not make a cis white male have more of a role than them."

For a "Fix Fic" section it is somewhat understandable to keep what would be the main cast, but still it would not be bad to have to explore other characters (and yes, also include the male ones).

"Do not have a straight white male shame them for their actions."

I don't know what he mean by "shame". But if he mention it as a form of "consequence" for the cast for non-positive actions. I don't know what to say, that the team is can be "shame" by any character that doesn't fall into that category… and in case we take it into account I doubt that's the answer, because imagine if other characters [outside this "category"] "shame" the cast, and Doris/Seeker gets angry anyway, it only makes it more ironic.

"No straightwashing. " "keep bumbleby canon."

At this point I don't know what it means, since let's say that the "Fic Fix" is in charge of "fixing"… this "Ship", either due to the lack of growth, moments, or rewriting the "conveniences" of its development.

At this point I can't find a purpose for it because… "A Fix Fic" would not seek to carry out that type of "washing"

"And NO Fanservice. "

Short: If it turns out that he was always Seeker, then this would be… laughable.

But in no short: I think that such situations would not be necessary for a "Fix Fic"…

Don't make evil men "morally grey"

Here I have a question for my estemeed…. If there can be gray morality in the male antagonists or not?

And the answer: Honestly, it's ironic to settle for "cartoon" for the male antagonists but both the fandom and the series want to take it upon themselves to give depth to the female antagonists…

Don't have jaune or adam date anyone in team rwby.

Okay, and I ask again: Is a romnace necessary for a RWBY Fix Fic? And I want to apply this in general. Because if you are going to make a "Ship" in a "Fix Fic"... it would be with too much care and detail

Ruby is to be idealistic, and it shouldn't be a character flaw.

Doesn't the fact that a character has no mistakes make her a "Mary Sue"? and even more so for the fact that he wants Ruby to be idealized.

Yang is not a party girl, not alcoholic, and not a slacker.

From a "Fic Fix" point of view, ok, it's well aimed to NOT downgrade a character to be a "party girl, alcoholic, and a slacker."

BUT : ) , they can simply be aspects or defects so that there is a challenge or a purpose to overcome, but not reduce the character to what was mentioned

(But ironically to reduce it to half a Ship, there they are quiet)

Adam taurus is irredeemably evil. So is torchwick.

… I don't have anything relevant to comment except for the fact that you can make an "irredeemable" character, BUT : ) the same is how it is written / handled…

One (Adam) being able to offer more crumbs and (Roman) the other would be a "enough but I wouldn't complain if there were more"

Don't call it a rewrite or a fixit fanfic. Call it an AU. A fan AU.

In short: Depending on the story you write, as well as the one you want to "tell" is what would classify the "Fanfic" as an AU or "Fic Fix". As I said, the "Fic Fix" in the end would enter the category of FanFic but its purpose would be a more ambitious one. (in the sense of giving yourself as a challenge to "improve" the deficient aspects of a series)

That will show your respect to the show and its writers. And showing CRWBY writers Miles and Kerry that respect will cause others to give your work a chance.

And the only salvageable thing at this point is basically: "The impression", honestly you would cause a lot of distrust to most of the fandom by being "rude" with the CRWBY, but hey, it's not like it's not a guarantee that the fandom will give a chance to a "Fic Fix" for the same reason that the fandom is also very "defensive" when it comes to aspects of the series, to such a degree of humiliating or harassing the author because "he had ideas that could hurt the canon" . A good impression does not guarantee a positive reception from the fandom to your "fix fic".

And to give a quick conclusion: Apparently the "Fixed" version or idealized for Doris/CanonSeeker is the "over exaggerated" representation (or flanderization) of what RWBY is... And last: I know that I argue when it is a "Fic Fix", and in the case of an "AU" I will only tell you that: Have fun as you also have fun when structuring and making your AU story.

I just want to tell you how awesome your fics are. Seriously. For a while I didn’t get the whole ‘Blorbo From My Shows’ thing and I thought you were just slightly nuts, but after reading your stories it was basically that gif of Danny Devito going “Oh my god, I get it.”

And now I’m neck deep and absolutely invested in Hawk and Thrush, not to mention ships from other media like Bumbleby. (Side note, I think you’d like RWBY) But anyway your fics are so excellent and it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside and now I’m stuck on Planet Blorbo, so thank you.

😭😭😭💕💕💕 oh my goodness friend I am CRY?? Seriously, what an absolutely humbling and heartwarming message to receive 🥹🥹 I’m truly, truly thankful for your kind thoughts on my writing! Some days you just need to hear them, you know? And this was definitely one of those for me.

But even more than that—I’m beyond thrilled to hear that some of my Blorbo Love™️ has rubbed off on you. That’s why fandom creators do what we do. It’s all born of a desire to express and spread our enthusiasm for our favorite ideas/characters. The fact that I had a part in bringing you some excitement about them as well gladdens me to no end. whichever rwby writer, i feel like it was eddy rivas but don't quote me on that, anyway whoever said that the freezerburn ship dynamic would inevitably end in divorce - not a messy divorce just divorce - they were absolutely so real for that. i think about that all the fucking time lmaooo

AND best part is that no one felt more validated by that then the freezerburn fans themselves like 'hell yes we called it we knew they would divorce!!🥹 that's our girls!!!'

anyway that tweet was legendary for two reasons the first being the reason mentioned above and the second being that in a weird way that tweet foreshadowed canon bumbleby because idk why would he have said that so casually about a popular wlw pairing unless the MOST popular wlw pairing was legitimately around the corner. you know

My Musings about Bumbleby

So, I’ve been keeping mum about the Bumbleby kiss and Bumbleby being made canon (finally!), except for reblogging every single Bumbleby confession and kiss scene/gif I could find here. Anyway, this is how I feel about it after watching that scene for like the 100th time. It was beautiful, and probably the best confession and kiss scene I’ve ever seen for any WLW show, and I’ve watched lots of TV shows. However, I’ve seen some naysayers still saying how unhealthy and toxic their relationship is, especially when compared to Blacksun and this is what I think.

Yang lost an arm for Blake when she saved her from Adam. Then, Blake ran away to protect those she loves. Yang resented Blake for leaving and didn’t understand why she left until she had that heart to heart talk with Weiss, and Weiss, being wise, explained to Yang why Blake decided to leave. From there, we can say that Yang had understood why Blake leave.

Blake felt guilty for leaving and tried to make up to Yang by helping her to carry her bag (which Yang told her that she didn’t need to do that and that they’ll be fine and things will go back to normal). Then Blake told Yang that she will never leave her again if Adam comes back and that she’ll protect Yang. That annoyed Yang because she isn’t some crippled who needed protection.

Then, the Blake and Yang vs Adam fight scene where Blake told Adam that they protect each other. Cue more fights until they killed Adam together and Blake made good of her promise. She didn’t run away. She was by Yang’s side when Adam showed up. And then she cried and made the promise to Yang again that she’ll never leave. And Yang said she knows she (Blake) won’t, then they hugged it out. (Ok, that scene was actually more touching than what I made it out to be, but this post is not to analyze that scene).

Now, some anti-bumbleby are still saying that their relationship is toxic and unhealthy because they didn’t talk to each other about Yang’s resentment toward Blake, or how Blake felt guilty after leaving Yang. But all the scenes above already showed the audience that everything had been unfolded. Granted, maybe they could do more (like the Ruby lashing out at everyone in the latest episode), but they didn’t.

But even if they didn’t, Blake and Yang were given the opportunity to talk to each other about their feelings towards each other on the bridge. They could’ve used this opportunity to talk about how they felt towards each other after the Yang losing her arm and Blake leaving her incident. But they didn’t. Instead, they chose to talk about the positive traits they find in each other, and they like each other because of these positive traits. It shows character growth. It shows that they are able to move forward after Adam and Adam was so far in the past that it’s not even worth mentioning about. And ultimately, it shows what we’ve known about Yang all along and why Blake fell in love with her in the first place: she is a beautiful, forgiving, selfless person (aside from her self-sacrificial tendency). And Blake needs this kind of person in her life. And Yang knew it already; that Blake felt guilty for leaving her, otherwise she wouldn’t make up for Yang by carrying her bag, telling her she would protect her etc (all these I’ve mentioned before). If you’ve forgiven someone, there is no need to bring up the past again.

These two characters had moved forward from their past and shared trauma. They could’ve talk about the negative traits in each other, but they chose to see the beauty and positive in each other instead. They were given the opportunity to talk, and they talk about all the positives. They have moved on, Yang holds no grudges against Blake for leaving, Blake felt guilty but she was able to overcome that guilt and Yang did not once even, tried to guilt-trip her for leaving. Now, isn’t that a healthy, non-toxic relationship? But I guess, if Yang and Blake still bring up the past and the resentment, people would point out how unhealthy and toxic it is because Yang still hadn’t moved on from that and she is now guilt-tripping/gaslighting Blake. There’s no winning, amirite?

So, we as audience should also move on from that. Why still feel so salty and bitter about it? Unless, you still want to feel salty and bitter about a fictional ship just cuz Blacksun didn’t happen, then there’s no stopping you, I guess. Maybe watch other shows that make you happy. Anyways, this is just my two cents/long rant about Bumbleby. And thanks for reading, if you’ve made it ‘til the end.

Okay, wait, give me a moment because I’m not okay.

Someone mentioned that Jinxy’s price is based off of the object: Yang’s arm = knowing how it feels to be loved, because it’s kinda what started bumbleby, which, yeah, I don’t know if I’d give that price either.

But Ruby’s price for Penny’s sword is freaking TRAGIC. Enough Hope to fill the jar? Bruh, Penny’s sword is the symbolism of WHY she doesn’t have any hope left and if Ruby had any left, she would’ve lost it anyways after seeing that sword! Ugh someone just give Ruby a hug, please, because she needs to cry and talk about it. (I still can’t believe Penny got killed a SECOND TIME and AFTER SHE WAS FINALLY TURNED INTO A REAL HUMAN, it’s like at the end of Pinocchio, they just shoot him).

I’m so here for this volume being Ruby’s arc though (I’m hoping the OP doesn’t mislead me, the OPs have been spoilers for the whole volume, I hope that hasn’t changed) because despite everyone having time to go through their thoughts and feelings and come out of it stronger than before, Ruby has not had that luxury and I really want her to.

She’s the youngest in the team and yet she’s had to be leader this whole time. She’s had to be strong because, as she said to Jaune in the first volume: “she’s a leader now, and she can’t fail because it’s not about her anymore, it’s about everyone else” and girl, please, you gotta take care of yourself. You see her lose hope and break down a little going against Ironwood AND Salem at the same time, but she still never got the time to really process it all because she needed to come up with a plan fast.

I also feel like the rest of the team knows Ruby is not feeling well/depressed because they’re trying their best not to look at Ruby for all the answers and direction like they had for the past 8 volumes and not asking her what they should do.

Anyways, I’m excited for volume 9 (read: more RWBY), can you tell?

RWBY VOLUME 9 LETS GO!!!!

Things that caught my attention immediately:

Ruby crying T-T My poor baby girl, I have a feeling she's going to be going through a lot this volume.

Weiss avoiding telling Blake what happened after she fell T-T

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT THING (I thought grimm were creepy)

Ruby instinctively going for her weapon and the face she pulled when it wasn't there

RWBY reunion with the BUMBLEBY hug

WEISS BREAKING DOWN OVER WHAT HAPPENED

RUBY FAINTING AFTERWARDS

Yang being unhappy they were there because she thought she was dead so seeing her sister, close teammates and love interest there too must have been terrible

Fairytales making an important return to RWBY

The opening? I think they show the opening at the end of every 1st volume episode.

Ruby slowly getting more and more tired as the sequence went on

How her "growth" showed her shaded red and a close up of her crying

Mystery girl (what will her role be? I'm thinking Alice from Alice in Wonderland)

Jaune's parts where his grief is evident.

RUBY IS CLEARLY GOING TO GO THROUGH MORE SHIT THIS VOLUME (see point one)

ANYWAY SO HYPED!!! I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS SO MUCH.

(I didn't mention the parts at the beginning because they were shown as a trailer for Volume 9 but I am still very curious who was shouting Ruby's name in the beginning).

Hazformers Theory: If Some Sinners Found Out Their Bumblby Ship Got Canon (But It Confuses Bumblebee)

[Note: small spoilers from RWBY Volume 9, also reading this is optional. also don’t reblog without permission.]

this might be the weirdest idea that has pop into my head,

and it involves Hazformers (by Blitzy-Blitzwing) and RWBY (by Monty Oum)...

and once again this might be weird thought but what if in Hazformers Timeline, even if it is more of a what if than being canon....well fan-canon.

and I still love Volume 9, even if it was annoying how some jerks had misunderstood Ruby, and if she wasn’t feeling the way she was, then she would of normally been fully happy for her sister and Blake, and I think she is okay with them being together...

anyway it be funny if the show RWBY was also shown to be watched by both Sinner Demons and some Saint Angels.

and when a new Sinner comes to Hell, they could mention that they might of died, but at least they got to see Bumbleby (Bumblebee) become canon in RWBY....

which by luck and coincidence, another Sinner walks by and hears this, and runs over to the newbie and grabs them by their arms and has their face really close to theirs as they ask “DID YOU JUST SAY BUMBLEBY, THE SAME ONE FROM RWBY, HAS BECOME CANON?!!”

“yes....?”

“WHEN?!”

“since Volume 9!”

then the Sinner who has been there longer than the one who got to witness Bumblby becoming canon, starts to run in happiness like he just got redeemed by Charlie and her hotel, that the ship is canon.

and that Sinner ends up spreading the word, and some Angels who are also Exterminators and about to take out a Sinner, hear and watch that same Sinner pass by while yelling out “IT’S CANON! BUMBLEBY OF RWBY IS FREAKING CANON! THEIR IS A SHIP-GODDESS!!!”

and this news, would of course this makes the Exterminator to the right of another one who was about to take out the Sinner they had caught...

to scream a very happy “YES!!!”

and if Bumblebee who is visiting Blitzwing, and maybe trying to get Waspinator to come with him....

he could end up hearing some of the Sinners yelling outside all over the Pride Ring that “Bumblebee Is Canon!” in a really happy way...

which would end up confusing him, and he could say that “but I’m not a cannon....and I sure don’t use a cannon to fight.”

like half of the fans of the ship ended up going to Heaven and the other half ended up going to Hell....and if both sides who didn’t get to watch Volume 9, because of a certain masculine someone influencing mortals into messing with that Covid-19 mess, and don’t think I don’t know....I would of just write it off as just a coincidence, but I know there is a possibility it was not just a human element of foolishness involved....

and there are other too much of coincidences as well, that makes me want a protective feminine barrier put up around the Earth, to keep THAT and the other disgusting stuff from happening, that matches up with a certain info...

anyway back to the interesting idea about the whole Sinners from Hazformers being fans of RWBY, and end up hearing that Bumbleby becoming canon.

I think Bumblebee would be really REALLY confused, as he might think they are talking about him, but really, they are talking about Yang x Blake, and their ship name.

it’s okay not to take this weird thought seriously, but I like the idea about Bumblebee hearing half of the Sinners in the Pride Ring cry in happiness as well as yelling in happiness that “Bumbleby Is Canon!”

and he could be thinking that they are talking about him, and he has to say that he doesn’t even use a cannon.

if Charlie and Vaggie could cosplay as characters from RWBY, I think they would be Bumbleby, Charlie being Yang and Vaggie being Blake.

and I guess in theory, if Sinners start to come to the hotel to try to be redeem...

it would be so they can be reincarnated so they can watch RWBY in the human world, and get the chance to watch their ship become canon.

well if how I.M.P. are, they could just ask them to go the human world and get the seasons aka volumes of RWBY and bring them there, maybe have Charlie have some of them as well, and her becoming hook on the series.

this is more of a what if type of idea and wouldn’t have to do with the fan-canon of Hazformers, I just like the idea about some of the Sinners in the Hazformers being big fans of Bumbleby, and a newbie Sinner who starts the really happy chain events that would cause a lot of Sinners to run around and spreading the word that Bumbleby is canon.

it be interesting if Vaggie was a fan of RWBY, and never got to see her ship of Blake x Yang become canon, that is....until now.

and as soon as a Sinner runs into the hotel and yells out “BUMBLEBY IS CANON! BLAKE X YANG OF RWBY HAS BECOME CANON!!!”

which as soon as Vaggie yells out “YES!!! FINALLY!” she could of made her girlfriend jump back in surprise (which Vaggie would have to say sorry but explain that she is just really happy), and Vaggie would of course have to tell Charlie about RWBY as well as the ship known as Bumbleby, and Vaggie could be the one to get I.M.P. to get RWBY Volumes 1 to 9, so Charlie and herself can watch it together....

I don’t think Alastor would have any idea whats going on, but could be very amused by the joyful chaos from it.

like it could take both Lucifer, the Overlords and even the Other Rulers of the other rings, to calm the shippers down from their being so happy at the news.

Bumblebee would be all like “this is my fault, I’m just too loved even though I don’t even use a cannon!”

and hearing this, Vaggie along with Charlie would have to explain to Bumblebee that the Sinners weren’t talking about him and being all like “say what now...?”

and then they would have to explain about ship names, and how the Bumblebee ship they were talking about can be spelled differently, and it has to do with two girls from a show called RWBY, and it has nothing to do with him or a cannon.

besides Blitzwing finding that funny, and he might know what a ship and canon ship is, but Bumblebee does not and never learned about it while on Earth.

Waspinator could find some form of amusement of Bumblebee getting some form of karma....and with how Autobots treat their prisoners, even those who are innocent, and Bumblebee didn’t mean to send a innocent bot to the stockades...

there could be some Autobots who should get karma for how they treat their prisoners, and even what happen with Waspinator when he was still Wasp.

I said it before and I will say it again...

“Frag The Elite Guard...” well, not Jazz though, since he’s cool.

I think later I will watch Transformers Animated, then Transformers Prime and then RWBY....

right now I’m going to grab a snack, and it’s okay that not everyone takes this weird post seriously.

I just like the idea of the whole Bumbleby ship confusing Bumblebee and him thinking everyone who knows about the ship, is talking about him and thinking he uses a cannon. XD

When writing the post about why Yang is my fav, I ended up writing out something about how I disagree with those who say Yang doesn't care about Ruby any more. It seemed more than a little of a tangent that didn't really belong in that post, so here it is.

Yang and caring about Ruby in Volume 9:

With Volume 9, and quite likely before then, there have been claims that Yang doesn't care about Ruby anymore. Because Yang can apparently only care about one person at a time, and she fell in love with Blake. And no one realised how bad things were with Ruby's depression, not even Yang, which means Yang doesn't care?

Yang tried to check in with Ruby multiple times in Volume 9. She knew something was wrong, just not the extent. And there was no way for her to know unless Ruby actually told her. Yang isn't a mind reader. I'm sure Yang would beat herself up over it later, but that's Yang being Yang.

As for falling in love with Blake meaning Yang doesn't care about Ruby... Yang is allowed to find happiness and true love. Her whole world has been Ruby for most of her life. Is it supposed to be that way forever? That sounds rather unhealthy to me, and stifling for Ruby. I can't imagine Ruby eventually getting much of a love life with an overprotective big sister breathing down the necks of any would be suitors. If Blake can distract Yang from doing that, it can only be a good thing.

Besides, Yang has a big heart. She can fit love for plenty of people in there, be it romantic or sisterly or platonic.

I've also seen how Yang got between Ruby and Blake, when Ruby was lashing out in Volume 9, given as proof that she feels the need to protect Blake when she should be protecting Ruby. I mean, seeing Yang's positioning herself in front of Blake as protective is a valid interpretation, but I see it more as drawing Ruby's attention to Yang. What makes it seem protective is mostly Blake's reaction, which Yang can't actually see. She doesn't have eyes in the back of her head. Even if she did, her mane of hair would cover them.

It does worry me sometimes, the standards people seem to hold fictional characters to. Do they do the same to real people? To be human is to err. People make mistakes. The point is to learn from them. Expecting perfection is only going to disappoint, and isn't fair to anyone. When it comes to fiction, characters shouldn't be perfect. It's not realistic, and it's part of what makes characters interesting: why they make mistakes and how they overcome them.

overthinking albums: midnights pt. 1

welcome back, lovelies! today's Long Rant is brought to you by all the beautiful RWBY art i've been seeing as we get hyped about vol9.

today, we'll be thinking way too hard about the lyrics and general vibe checks of taylor swift's midnights album, and how each song was specifically written with a RWBY character/relationship/arc in mind. this is going to be split into two parts, because i, ahem, hit the character limit for a text block post on tumblr.

(what's that? sorry, i can't hear you, but if you're suggesting the album was not in fact written about a niche animated show, i'm replying with shhhhhhhhh.)

lavender haze - okay guys we gotta start with a bumbleby song. and this one--whoo boy. are you kidding? hell yeah! you don't really read into / my melancholia.... i just wanna stay in that / lavender haze. i mean come on. can't you just see blake singing about yang? staring into her eyes? the epitome of sapphic love??? also, obsessed with the way adam didn't scare yang off in conjunction with the line they're bringing up my history / but you weren't even listening. i know it's not a one-for-one match but i'm gonna die on that hill.

maroon - bear with me for this pain, but: a jaune-grieving-pyrrha song. the visual of the two of them over time, all those shades of red... the tension just before and during the vytal festival arc (how the hell did we lose sight of us again? / sobbing with your head in your hands / ain't that the way shit always ends).... jaune in the forest during vol4 (and i wake with your memory over me / that's a real fuckin' legacy)... him standing in front of her statue, finally putting his ghosts to rest (the rust that grew between telephones / the lips i used to call home / so scarlet it was maroon)

anti-hero - a hot take, but i feel like this is a song for oz/oscar/ozma. i have this thing where i get older but just never wiser is him struggling under the weight of everything he knows and all the ways he's fucking it up anyway. not to mention this whole thing: i end up in crises / tale as old as time / i wake up screaming from dreaming / one day i'll watch as you're leaving / 'cause you got tired of my scheming / for the last time. i--i don't even think i need to explain this one? are we good to move on?

snow on the beach - a qrow/clover song. you might think this is qrow thinking about clover, because of lines like you wanting me / tonight feels impossible--but ohoho, slow down there my friend. i will die on my headcanon hill that clover was just as traumatized as qrow, just with different coping mechanisms, and that he was absolutely whipped within hours of meeting him. plus, qrow just deserves at least one (1) nice thing--and don't you want to see him getting all flustered and happy when someone else looks at him and thinks of the lines i searched 'aurora borealis green' / i've never seen / someone lit from within / blurring out my periphery? akjsdbfkasjfh and the pause after can this be a real thing, can it? with their hands gently brushing.... hello? my heart?

you're on your own, kid - yang. yang alllllll the way. am i maybe projecting the oldest-female-child-syndrome? yep. but i mean--oh my god how could it not be??? i didn't choose this town / i dream of getting out / there's just one who could make me stay doesn't have to be romantic. that can be her thinking of ruby. my friends from home don't know what to say / i looked around in a blood-soaked gown / and i saw something they can't take away is living at the dorms in vale and leading up to the fall of beacon, 'cause there were pages turned with the bridges burned / everything you lose is a step you take is her recovering her confidence in vols 4 & 5. you're on your own, kid / yeah, you can face this / you're on your own, kid / you always have been is that moment where she steps past raven and ventures into the spring portal alone...... i'm simply not okay.

midnight rain - raven and ty. we were all thinking it, right? i mean. i mean. how could it be anything else? my town was a wasteland / ... / my boy was a montage / a slow-motion, love potion / ... / i broke his heart 'cause he was nice. the way she left but didn't feel guilt that we really see at any point in the show? he wanted it comfortable / i wanted that pain / he wanted a bride / i was making my own name pretty much sums up that dynamic. ty is a himbo and i love him but as soon as we met raven i was like "oh, obviously that wasn't gonna work." also, i peered through a window / a deep portal, time travel / all the love we unravel / and the life i gave away is so perfectly on the nose it's not even funny.

question...? - blake and ilia!! blake! and! ilia! specifically, ilia being bitter as she watches blake move through various relationships with various levels of health, and never once look at her. good girl, sad boy / big city, wrong choices / we had one thing going on / i swear that it was something / 'cause i don't remember who i was before you. or, or!! she was on your mind / with some dickhead guy / ... / it was one drink after a another / fucking politics and gender roles / and you're not sure and i don't know / got swept away in the gray. i simply cannot. i shall pass away before i ever make my peace with this level of pining.

I’m probably going to get some flack for this, but I have to admit I’m always so confused when I see people act like Yang must have had sex before the start of the show or say that she seems like someone who would have a lot of casual hookups because... there’s literally nothing to support it?

Is it just because she’s flirty and confident? I could maybe buy that if she’d so much as kissed or gone on a date with anyone in the show, or if Blake wasn’t the only person in whom she’s actually shown any interest in canon, but since neither if those things are true it really doesn’t make any sense.

Is it just because she was in a nightclub in her first appearance in her trailer? Again, I could possibly see that if she hadn’t only been there to look for information about Raven, or if she’d ever gone to another party in the show apart from the one dance at Beacon (where she danced with one person alone and then stood off to the side for the rest of the evening, I might add), but once more it just doesn’t add up with what we’re shown.

Yang is very family-oriented and on top of that she has abandonment issues. She would be looking for long-term commitment, not one night stands or short relationships without any strings attached. That idea just doesn’t fit with any aspect of her personality or character.

Not to mention that she almost certainly simply wouldn’t have had time to date much given she was raising Ruby for most of her own childhood on top of being in school full time and taking care of other things around the house since Tai was often busy with work like she says in V5.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever with someone having lots of relationships or a lot of sex if it’s what they want, but it just doesn’t match up with anything that we know about Yang in canon so I’m truly baffled as to why it’s as prevalent a headcanon as it seems to be.

100% Accurate RWBY Volume 7 Prediction Based on the Intro

Yo.

I wrote this last week, but I figured I’d wait until the premiere episode was (almost) officially out for everyone.

Just from analyzing certain shots in the opening, I believe I’ve figured out the not-so-hidden plot of RWBY Volume 7. Turn away now if you don’t want to be spoiled because of my deduction skills.

Ok so, it’s quite obvious from the first few shots that at some point, team RWBY and possibly team ORNJ will be turned into those familiar shadow-like people that we saw in Volume one.

Now, I’m personally excited for this because I’ve been waiting for some shadow people lore for years and I think we’re finally going to get it guys.

Get hyped.

These shots foreshadow the events to come even further while providing us with more information. As you can see, if you look beneath the feet of team RWBY, there are shadows in the snow. What is associated with snow? Atlas. Thus, it can be concluded that Atlas is somehow responsible for turning our team into shadow people.

And then we get shots of Ruby and Blake glaring menacingly at atlas. Probably mad because they don’t want to be shadows. Weiss and Yang aren’t really glaring but that’s probably because Yang thinks more shadows means more Blake, and Weiss is just thinking about slapping her dad.

There’s also this shot, which speaks for itself.

And then this happens.

Now, since this is coming out post - Infinity War, we can deduce the animation team wanted to represent how team RWBY would feel if they became shadows. The feeling of not existing. The idea that if you are a shadow person in RWBY, you might as well have been Thanos snapped from existence because no one will notice you anymore. Well played animation team. Well played.

The fact that the title card is formed by the dusted shadow particles of Team RWBY only proves my 100% accurate theory further.

Then we are treated with shots of team RWBY morphing into past representations of themselves. This depicts the idea that our heroes are chasing the memories of their old selves. There are sure to be scenes in Volume 7 in which they attempt recalling how they used to look unique and not like generic shadow clones.

So, this is the image that really ties it all together, so stay with me here. We know that there were shadow people back in volume one. But we also know that we have yet to see any since then. This image leads me to believe that an event (the details of which are currently unknown) occurred in Atlas, that caused those who were originally turned into shadows, to be turned back into regular colorful people. But now, Watts and Tyrion will work together to hack into Atlas’ systems and gain access to the Shadow People Device-atron to use it against our heroes. (I would also like to point out that it is a possibility that Tyrion may also become a Shadow person due to his depiction in this image, but it might just be a misdirection. This is the one thing I am not 100% sure of)

And finally skipping to the end, team RWBY is once again shown as shadow people, doing some sick flips and tricks, while their original colors spin around them. This shows the determination within our heroes, as they fight to revert back to their colorful selves.

And there is my 100% accurate theory of RWBY Volume 7. Sorry if you didn’t see this coming, but I did warn you about spoilers.

CRWBY, please make your intro less obvious. It’s ruining the experience for me.

listen, the most common argument i’ve seen against the implications of the results of that BYvsA fight is that they both just killed a man, so therefore how is blake and yang hugging and comforting each other even remotely romantic?

and, sure, when you describe it like that it can be said that it’s not. but what they DON’T mention is the dialogue. the only two lines exchanged between blake and yang, in that moment respectively, are “i’m not gonna break my promise, i swear” and “i know you wont”

and exactly which promise is blake referring to here?

back in “seeing red”, before the final 2v1 confrontation begins, blake says in response to adam’s challenge about winning against him “i don’t have a choice. i have people who actually care about me. and i promised i’d never leave them again. so i’m not dying now.”

blake literally promises NOT TO DIE for “the people who care about her”. you could make the argument that “she would say the same about ALL of her teammates” which, yeah sure. why not. but they weren’t as deeply hurt as yang was. RW accepted blake back easily, with open arms. blake regaining yang’s trust was ALWAYS the biggest point of contention among the team. and plus, when blake says “and i promised i’d never leave them again” it’s placed over this shot:

and there’s animation of blake’s hand tightening over yang’s. so there’s literally only one person she’s thinking of in that moment, it’s only one person she made the promise to. and that’s yang.

so when she says to yang, after killing adam, “i’m not gonna break my promise, i swear”, that’s pretty emotionally heavy. it’s not just that they’re consoling each other over a traumatic event that just occurred. it’s them supporting each other over the past that’s been haunting them both for months on end, and reassuring one another (i promise i wont leave / i know you wont, i trust you) that they’ll be there for each other in the future, no matter what that future looks like.

and to me, something like that sounds pretty fucking romantically coded.
