Alastor x Reader
————
Favoritism Pt.2(1.5)
Part 1
———————————-||————||
Synopsis: Alastor finds himself wondering why exactly he favors you so much
a/n: this is more of a part 1.5 really, as it’s mostly just Alastair’s perspective of what’s going on, but I figured you guys would enjoy this 🍓
———————-<>—————————-<>———-
Fluffy red ears twitched back and fourth, listening to the idle and mindless chatter of the hotel inhabitants.
Alastor couldn’t help but feel a certain sense of mirth at the topic of discussion. While he made no attempts to hide his blatant bias, he hadn’t thought he was quite that obvious.
Though a tiny part of him felt a bit smug, especially at the claim of that empty headed serpent. A kiss?
The idea wasn’t unpleasant but he was unfortunately mistaken.
The two of you had never shared such an intimate gesture, much less in the company of others.
No-, he supposed the closest you had ever gotten was a small bump of the nose to one another’s. It wasn’t an inherently romantic gesture on the radio demons part, more instinctual than anything, but he could suppose there had been a certain layer of affection lined in the action nonetheless.
“What do you suppose they’re talking about Al..?”
His ears twitched forward to fully take in the sound of your candied voice.
Alastor didn’t consider himself a fan of sweet things like candy and cakes. But he always seemed to make an exception when it came to you.
“Hm..~ Seems our dear friends are under the impression that you and I are…an item of sorts.” His smile twitched, inching upwards with amusement when he saw the way your eyes widened, a warmth on your cheeks that roused a small huff of pride from his nose.
“Oh…well that doesn’t..upset you?…right?” Your concern is down right precious. So bothered with his comfort that it makes the fabric of his tail coat shift, just briefly.
“Hmm~…perhaps if it were another sinner who they believed I had such relations with. However because it’s you my dear, I can’t seem to find myself bothered by the idea.”
You were far too naive. (Cute). Your sparkly gaze almost made him angry. Like he wanted to squeeze you till it eased the tight sensation in his chest. Though he wouldn’t dare to act on such an impulse. For fear of losing such pleasant company of course.
But he couldn’t stop himself from teasing you. Just a little. “Infact…I’d say I’m rather flattered by the notion~. To think they see me a fit partner for a gem like you.”
That feeling got subsequently stronger as he watched you bury your face into the crook of your shoulder, a shy, perhaps embarrassed smile painting your lips and making a that shifting of his tail coat return. Like those aforementioned sweets had found their way into his system and subsequently thrown him into a vicious sugar rush. His heart was practically bouncing off the walls of his ribcage, though he hadn't the faintest idea why.
“Alastor…” His name was a garbled whine, swatting at him playfully as you returned to dusting the bannister, distracting yourself as he sidled beside you still, ever attendant while his shadow fluttered around, moving glasses and nicknacks for you to dust off. “Are you going to tell them then..?”
“What ever do you mean?”
Your eyes glanced back, lips pursed. “Well…you are going to tell them we’re not together right?”
Well that sounded unpleasant, and his immediate thought had been an internal grimace. But he pondered the thought for a moment, mindful of the eyes on both your backs as he stepped around the side of you, clawed hands dancing across your shoulder and arm thoughtfully.
“Hmm…~..No.”
He paused, ears twitched backwards as his lips connected gently with the skin of your nose, sweet and lingering as he failed to ignore the twitch of his grin at the gasps that echoed behind.
“No fucking way.”
“I say let them wonder..~”
……
Alastor could admit, even by his standards this was a bit mean.
His “loving” gestures had amped up quite a bit the following week at the hotel.
Lingering touches, thoughtful hand placements, small gestures and sweet words. Nothing explicitly romantic…but there was always something implied in his gaze that perhaps even he himself wasn't aware of.
It wasn’t in an intentional effort to lead you on. He was hardly that cruel. But some part of him…found deep satisfaction in watching your eyes shine and your cheeks darken and become hot.
And that itch had only gotten worse too.
Sometimes it was small. An urge to pinch your cheek which he acted on, mindful of his claws in doing so. His ears always twitched at your disgruntled whines, always tuned to your words and noises. Even unintentionally.
There had been one moment when, your silly little self had gotten caught on that same rug, again. Alastor had been on the other side of the room, but the moment your squeak reached his ears, they swiveled back, and a mass of tentacles lurched up from the ground, gently rolling you onto you greet before disappearing like they had never existed.
And Alastor hadn’t even turned around, still idly chatting with the stunned princess who barely hid her ever widening smile.
Husker seemed the most displeased with his current antics. Always preaching to the others that this was a trick. That he was playing with you. Toying with you.
The radio demon wished that was the case now.
Frankly, he wasn’t sure why he was doing it. He knew he favored you above the others. That was natural. Instinctual. Obvious. And while the others reactions, especially those of the spear wielding ex angel and the gambler were fairly amusing, if that had been the soul purpose it was likely he would’ve grown bored by now. And he would’ve stopped.
But it wasn’t. And he hadn’t.
And it was all becoming a bit overwhelming.
Yet you didn’t question it. Sometimes your brow would raise, at a particularly bold gesture or comment sent your way, and yes your eyes would dart around as if to see who was watching. But you never complained. And if he didn’t know any better, he’d say you were enjoying yourself, if the sweetheart smile that graced your lips after each instance was anything to go off.
So Alastor didn’t feel the need to label what he was experiencing or truly ponder why. He was enjoying himself, as were you. To him, nothing needed to be said.
“So are you two bangin or nah?”
Though he supposed not everyone felt the same.

Opposite | Matt Sturniolo
Tumblr media
Matt Sturniolo x reader
Summary: Where Y/N and Matt are polar opposites.
Warning: None.
Requested?: Yes, by @lightsgore
Author's note: That is my work, I DON'T authorize any plagiarism! | English isn't my first language, so I'm sorry if there's any grammar error.
PS.: This accidentally took a turn for a kind of "grumpy x sunshine", but I hope you like it either way!
༻✦༺ ༻✧༺ ༻✦༺
Matt was not an extroverted person. Unsurprisingly, he was a quieter, more reserved guy who liked to have his own space and took his own time to say what he wanted if he was asked to do so. His mood would change drastically if he was forced to talk when or with whoever he didn't want to.
Y/N, on the other hand, looked like a little ball of light that wouldn't stay still. She had a habit of talking a lot in a short space of time, uttering words until she was out of breath. In addition to always seeming to be in a good mood, a smile decorating her face like a permanent tattoo. Energetic was the word that defined her.
Therefore, when she and Matt revealed their relationship to the public, many fans didn't understand the origin of their love, as they were very different, literally polar opposites.
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
"... Stop! Stop protecting your insecurities because you know you have an ass haircut, so you're projecting what could possibly happen to me! At least I'm willing to take that change." Nick screamed next to Y/N, moving his arms comically in exaggerated despair.
Chris laughed loudly at his speech, leaning his back against the car door from the passenger seat so that he could have a better view of the back. Matt smiled as he shook his head, watching them in the rearview mirror.
Y/N quickly nodded her head, her eyes wide as she raised her hands, showing that she wanted to initiate her own opinion on the matter.
"Exactly! You only try to diminish others because you are insecure about yourself. It's impossible to be friends with people like that. They are always trying to diminish someone, saying absurd things that cause so much discomfort." She spoke quickly, gesturing with her hands as her eyes darted between Nick and the rearview mirror, or rather, Matt's blue eyes.
Matt watched her with eyes full of love and affection, nodding his head in agreement to what she was saying.
"They're always talking bad about someone, have you noticed?" Y/N turned to face the blonde next to her, pointing her right index finger towards him, who hummed.
"Yes, exactly!" Nick shouted, slamming his hands against the back of Chris's seat, earning an angry shout from the boy.
"People can only give what they have inside themselves." Y/N finished her train of thought, shrugging as she licked her lips, wetting them.
Matt quickly reached for the bottle of his own tea in the cup holder between the front seats, opening the lid and turning his upper body towards the back, silently offering the drink to his girlfriend. She smiled big, sending a wink as a "thank you" before taking the bottle.
"It's good to have Y/N in a video with us. She speaks for both of them." Chris commented briefly, pointing to Y/N and Matt, letting out a hysterical laugh when he saw Matt rolling his eyes - but still not denying anything.
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
Matt was fast asleep. His head buried in the white pillow, and his body curled up like a burrito around the fluffy duvet. His mouth was half open, low snores escaping from between his lips. His eyelids trembled slightly, showing that his mind was sailing through dream land.
Y/N slowly opened the door with her elbow, her hands occupied by a wooden tray that held a simple but nutritious breakfast for two. The girl had a big smile decorating her face as she walked with light steps towards the bed.
She placed the tray on the closest bedside table in one quick movement before going to the windows, opening the black-out curtains, allowing the sunlight to illuminate the room completely.
A grumbling sound was heard from the bed, Matt lifting the duvet to the top of his head, still half asleep. Y/N smiled at his reaction, quickly walking to the bed, kneeling on the mattress and pulling the blanket off the boy, laying her chest on her boyfriend's bare one, bringing her face closer to his.
"Good morning, my love." She murmured against his cheek, sealing her lips over his skin repeatedly.
Matt grumbled again, his brow furrowing in false anger but pushing his face against hers lightly, enjoying the feeling of being showered in affection by his girlfriend.
"Come on baby, wake up!" Y/N asked a few seconds later - after seeing his eyes closing again -, her fingers pulling Matt's eyebrows up slightly, watching him forcefully open his blue orbs.
Her laughter echoed through the room as the boy pretended to go bite her, a smile spreading across his face instantly.
"It's such a beautiful day outside. I thought we'd have a picnic. Or we could go to that golf park. Oh oh oh, or we could cook that blackberry pie you wanted. We could also-" Her words came quickly, excitement evident in her voice.
Matt's sleepy brain took a few minutes to process what his girlfriend was saying, his head just nodding in agreement without even knowing what he was agreeing to.
"Can we?" Y/N's question caught his attention. Matt only opened his right eye, looking at her for a few seconds, trying to search in his mind what she was asking him to do without achieving any results.
Matt didn't understand how Y/N woke up with so much energy, while he needed at least 20 minutes to really feel alive.
"Yeah, sure." The brunette mentally shrugged his shoulders. She wouldn't have asked him to do something risky to their lives, so it was okay for him to accept it without knowing what it was. Right?
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
Y/N knocked twice on the door of her shared room with Matt, the sound almost imperceptible. She turned the handle and opened it, entering the room slowly.
The sound of loud music escaped the brunette's headphones, which rested against his ears. The boy was sitting in his gaming chair, and his upper body bent slightly forward as his hands worked on the keyboard, probably answering emails sent to the Sturniolo Triplets inbox.
The girl walked with light and quick steps towards her boyfriend, a small smile on her face in excitement. She gently touched his right shoulder, alerting him to her presence.
Matt looked up, his eyes instantly brightening as he noticed Y/N there. His hands pushed the headphone back - leaving it hanging around his neck - while his feet moved on the floor, turning the chair so that he was facing her.
"Babe, it's raining." Y/N quickly said, without even waiting for him to talk.
Matt frowned, his hands moving up to her hips, lightly squeezing the covered area.
"Yeah, I know, honey." He nodded, confused as to why she would be telling him the obvious, the sound of heavy raindrops hitting the windows from outside filled the room.
"Can we dance in the rain? Please, please, please?" Y/N clasped her hands in front of her body in a sign of prayer, pleading with her eyes.
Matt raised his eyebrows, the thought of getting completely wet with the freezing rain made him shiver, his mind already imagining his clothes sticking to his skin.
He sighed, closing his eyes momentarily.
"What I wouldn't do for you?"
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
"What do you guys want?" Madi asked as she stood up from her seat at the table on the fast food restaurant, ready to place the triplets' and Y/N's orders besides her own.
Nick quickly said what he wanted without taking his eyes off his phone, choosing the photos that he would put in that Friday's photo dump. Chris mumbled his order, resting his left cheek on his hand - which was supported on the table by his elbow -, his eyes focused on the digital menu on his own phone.
Madi nodded to the two before turning to Matt and Y/N, waiting for them to say what they wanted.
"For me, it's just going to be a cheeseburger and a Diet Coke. And Matt's going to have a double cheeseburger and a root beer." Y/N counted on her fingers as she said each food, watching Madi nod when she finished. "Thank you, Madi." She blew the brunette an air kiss.
Matt pressed his lips to the top of Y/N's head lightly before pulling her to rest the back of her shoulder against his chest.
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
"No, Chris, I don't want a blueberry donut." Matt rolled his eyes, huffing as he leaned his hips against the table, his arms crossed.
"You're hungry, and it's the only thing we have right now, Matt." Chris rolled his eyes back, exchanging looks with Nate, who smiled, amused by his reaction.
"What happened to you today? Did you wake up with the wrong foot?" Nick asked, his tone full of annoyance, wrinkling his nose.
"Why don't you shut-" Matt's sentence was interrupted by Y/N entering the kitchen, humming a Taylor Swift song under her breath.
"Oh, hi guys! Good morning." Y/N smiled brightly at the four of them, her eyes shining as she met Matt's, approaching him with quick steps - throwing smiles towards Chris, Nick, and Nate as she passed them. "Hi baby." She rose on her tiptoes, sealing his lips in a quick kiss.
A smile automatically grew on Matt's face, his eyes taking on a lovestruck look, all the anger he felt vanishing.
"Did you eat? I didn't see you eating breakfast earlier. You must be hungry." She asked, still facing him, her brow furrowed in concern as her right hand rested lightly on Matt's stomach, stroking the covered skin.
"No, baby. There's nothing interesting here." The boy sighed dramatically, ignoring his brothers' murmurs of disgust.
"We still have blueberry donuts, honey. There are some left over from the video you three made yesterday." Y/N pointed to the counter, where the box of donuts sat next to the stove. "You liked them, right?" She moved slightly away from Matt, reaching out and taking one before handing it to the boy.
Matt instantly smiled, taking the sweet from Y/N's hands with his right one and bringing it to his mouth, biting off a small piece. His left hand rested on Y/N's hip, caressing the area.
"It doesn't even look like he just-" Nick began his sentence, a look of disbelief on his face.
"Thank you, my love." Matt cut Nick off, sending a glare in his direction over Y/N's right shoulder before opening a big smile to her, biting off another piece.
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
"Hi, good afternoon! How are you?" Y/N greeted the McDonald's attendant, a big smile lighting up her face, as her eyes went to the board where the menu was displayed, mentally confirming what she was going to order.
The attendant smiled back quickly, her heart warming at finally being able to have a kind costumer who wasn't in a bad mood.
"Good afternoon! I'm great, thank you." She nodded momentarily, placing her fingers on the computer screen, ready to select the order. "What can I do for you today?" Her eyes went from Y/N to Matt, who was standing behind the girl.
His hands rested in the front pocket of the hoodie that covered his upper body, while an awkward smile spread across his face, nodding briefly.
Y/N started ordering calmly, including Chris and Nick's orders that she had already memorized - even though they both said they didn't want anything, she knew that Nick would end up biting a peace of her burger and Chris would steal Matt's fries -, giving the attendant time to select everything without rushing.
"Is that all for today?"
"Yes, that's all." Y/N confirmed, taking Matt's wallet out of her purse and taking out her card, quickly paying for the order. "Thank you so much. Have a nice day!"
Matt quickly mumbled a "thank you" before intertwining his fingers with Y/N's, allowing her to pull him toward a table.
༻﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡﹡༺
Yes, they were polar opposites, but Matt and Y/N showed every day that opposites really do attract each other.

Dreamin' About It 2
Tumblr media
P1
summary: Matt and you never got along. He always teased you about everything you did, so much so you decide to you wanted to lose your virginity just so he would shut about it. The only issues was you didn't know who to lose it to and that you were scared out of your mind to do it
warning: smutttt, cursing
hehe heres part 2
merry christmas eve i love all of you
xoxo autumn
That's when the door ripped open. Evan stopped kissing me and we both turned our heads and he was ripped off of me.
"Okay get off her"
I sat up pulled down my skirt seeing Matt gripping Evan's shirt. "Matt" I said with wide eyes. Matt let him go roughly. "Dude what the fuck?" Evan yelled at him. Matt glared at him.
"She's drunk" He said motioning to me. I just watched them. Evan walked up to him. "Stop making it into something it's not. We were just fine" Evan glared at him. Matt looked over at me, while looked at him with a nervous expression.
Matt looked back at him, pushing his chest. "Get out" He said walking up to him. Evan glared over at him. "Should have known you wouldn't do anything" he shook his head at me. I felt his words in my chest as he turned and left slamming the door, his words ringing through my head.
I swallowed looking up at Matt. I glared standing up off the bed. "Matt what the fuck?" I yelled at him. He shook his head. "You knew it was a bad idea. You should be thanking me" He said stepping up to me.
"Thanking you? Matt you just embarrassed this shit out of me!" I said shaking my head at him. He clenched his jaw staring down at me. "You're drunk and we're leaving let's go" He mumbled walking past me. I grabbed his arm.
"No!" I yelled. "Why are you such a dick to me? Do you just want to hang the virgin card over my head for the rest of my life?" I asked shaking my head. He let out a breath.
"I wasn't letting you sleep with him of all people, if you want to talk about bodies--" He said shaking his head. I pushed him. "You're not my boyfriend Matt. I can sleep with whoever I want to and you don't get a say" I shook my head. He nodded.
"Sorry, You wanted to sleep with him? He made you feel comfortable? Upstairs at a fucking party is where you wanted to lose your v-card?" He asked shaking his head motioning towards the door.
I clenched my jaw. "It wasn't your decison to make" I said with a clench jaw. He scoffed. "The guy's ego's so big he probably doesn't even know how to use his dick" He spat. I shook my head.
"And you know how to use yours?" I spat. "Yeah. I do" He said towering over me. I just blinked at him as he looked down at me. He let out a breath looking away.
I grabbed his arm pulling him towards me before pressing my lips to his. He kissed me back instantly. I let out a breath almost of built up frustration as we kissed. Not roughly, just kissing. Slowly.
He pressed his hand against my face leaning down as our lips moved together. He pulled back looking at me.
"I'm not having sex with you, not while you're drunk" He said shaking his head, making me sigh closing my eyes. "Okay" I nodded. He sighed wrapping his arms around my back before pressing his lips to mine again briefly.
"If you want it to be me. I wanna be. But not like this" He stated an inch from my face. I nodded looking at him. He stepped back removing his arms.
"I'll take you home, come on" He said grabbing my hand and walking me out of the room.
-
The next few days I avoided him. I was terryfied. I knew he wasn't drunk, so I knew he meant it. But being in the same friend group, I knew I couldn't avoid him forever.
"Soda for the virgin" Chris said handing me a Pepsi. I sighed and saw Matt hit his chest shaking his head. "What?" Chris mumbled looking at Matt. Matt glanced down at me and i caught his eye for a moment and then looked down at the drink in my hand.
"So maybe Evan wasn't the right guy, who cares" Madi said pushing my shoulder. I shook my head. "There are other guys" Madi said looking at me. I shook my head.
"No, I'm done. Forget I ever said anything I don't wanna talk about it anymore" I said looking at her. She nodded and looked away. "At least the party was good for someone" Madi said motioning to Nick.
Nick rolled his eyes glaring at Chris. "For about five minutes until Chris came in all 'why are you with your ex?'" Nick glared at Chris. Making us all start to laugh.
"I think your exact words were 'If i start talking to my ex please pull me away'" Chris said tilting his head at Nick, who just shook his head. I let out a breath and leaned against the couch. I couldn't help but look over at Matt, who turned to look at me the same time.
We just looked at each other for a second.
"So birthday on Saturday" I felt Chris push my leg making me break my gaze and look up at him. I nodded looking down. "Do you know what you're doing yet?" He asked raisng his eyebrows. I shook my head.
"I don't know I think birthday's are kind of stupid, i was just born nothing crazy happened" I smiled up at him, making him rolling his eyes. "Come on" He shook his head. I shrugged.
"I'll just hang out with you guys that all I really want" I smiled at them. They nodded. "I think we can make that happen" Madi said nodding.
-
"Happy birthday"
I looked up and hugged Nick, who handed me a gift. "It's from all of us" He said talking about the triplets. I smiled taking the gift out of his hand. "Thank you guys" I said looking between the three of them. They all smiled and Matt looked away from me.
A part of me wishes I never kissed him. It's been weird ever since. We barely look at each other and if we do I feel like i'm doing something wrong. There's no more rude or snarky remarks from him, which I weridly miss. And worse of all I can't help but think of him when I'm alone trying to go to sleep. His words ringing in my head.
"If you want it to be me. I wanna be. But not like this"
"Everyone's outside" I said looking up at them and motioning towards the backdoor. They nodded and Nick and Chris walked toward the backdoor as I walked over to the table placing their gift with the rest of them.
I glanced up after hearing the door slide closed but saw Matt still standing there with his hands in his pockets as he looked at me. I looked down at the table.
"Hey what's up?" I mumbled feeling my face go red as I examined the box. He let out a breath and walked up to me. He cleared his throat as he peered down at me.
"I just wanted to talk to you for a second" He stated softly. My heart started to beat. We've avoided this conversation for almost two weeks, I knew it was bound to happen, but I still didn't want to have it.
I swallowed looking up at him. He just stared at me. "Yeah" I sighed looking at him. He looked down before reaching into his pocket before pulling out a small box with a bow. My eyebrows furrowed as I looked down at the box.
"That one is from all three of us, but I got you this" He said motioning to the box already on the table. I glanced to the box already placed and the one in his hands. "Matt you didn't have to-" I started to say.
"I know I haven't been the best friend to you" He sighed looking at me. "And I'm sorry" He said softly. I bit my lip as I took the box out of his hand and pulled the bow untied.
I opened the small box and saw a small gold bracelet, making my face soften. I looked up at him. "Matt" I breathed taking it out of the box. It was a dantey small bracelet with a music note on it.
"I know how much you love music and stuff and I was shopping and I saw it and thought of you. It's nothing big" He shook his head. I shook my head smiling. "It's perfect" I breathed, making him smile.
"Matt, why did you get this for me?" I whispered looking up at him. He just looked down at me, letting out a breath. "I guess as an apology" He said looking at me.
"For giving you such a hard time all the time" He explained making me look down. I shook my head. "It's okay Matt" I said. He let out a breath.
"I guess I just haven't stopped thinking about how you were willing to sleep with Evan Reel, just so that I would stop messing with you" He said making my eyes go wide.
"It wasn't just you" I said. He nodded. "Yes it was. I feel like shit thinking about it" He sighed. I pursed my lips as I looked at him.
"I guess I'm sorry too" I sighed looking at him. He furrowed his eyebrows. "For what?" He whispered. "For kissing you, I probably shouldn't have done that" I said shaking my head. He just looked at me.
"I didn't mind" He said smiling slightly. I smiled and shook my head. "It was--" He said looking at the backdoor. "A good kiss" He said glancing back over at me. I nodded.
"I won't mention the whole virginty thing again, and I'll make sure no one else does either. I'm sorry that you felt pressured, that's not how it's suppose to be. It's suppose to be with someone you actually like and trust" He said shaking his head. I nodded slowly.
"Yeah, thanks" I breathed. He nodded.
"If you want it to be me. I wanna be. But not like this"
"Thanks for the bracelet" I said holding it up. He nodded. "Happy birthday" He nodded. I set it down before picking up the bracelet and attempting to put it on.
"Here let me help you" He said stepping towards me and holding my wrist as he snapped it into place. I looked up at him and he looked down at me, his hand still on mine.
"Did you mean what you said?" I whispered quietly. He just stared down at me. I licked my lips as he scanned my face. He nodded slowly. I opened my mouth to speak, but the backdoor opened.
"Y/n! Where are you? We are waiting" I heard Madi's voice. Matt dropped my wrist and we both looked over at her. I let out a breath nodding.
-
The rest of the night I couldn't stop thinking about what Matt said. He did mean it. It was all I could think about, all that was running through my mind.
"Are you not drinking?" Madi asked looking at the soda in my hand. I looked up at her and my eyes went wide. "No, I feel sick" I stated shaking my head. I glanced over to Matt who looked at me and bit back a smile. Fuck, could I make it more obvious?
I felt my face go red and hope to god I didn't make myself too obvious of what I wanted but by the look on Matt's face, he already knew.
Everyone seemed to be having a good time and by the time the sun went down, everyone was already drunk. Except for me and Matt. If everyone was sober, they would notice that we couldn't keep our eyes off of each other, but they were too wasted to tell.
I however was painfully aware of how he was looking at me.
Everyone was lost in their own conversation when we moved into the house because the Boston cold is not for the faint of heart. I moved over sitting on the couch as Chris chugged a beer in the kitchen and Madi and Nick laughed at him.
Matt walked in sliding the door closed before looking over at me by myself on the couch. He glanced over them before shaking his head and walking over to me. I took in a breath as he sat next to me.
"So you're not drinking" He stated glancing at me. I sighed and shook my head. "I'm not" I said looking at him. He licked his lips and looked at me. "Can I admit something to you?" He asked softly. I nodded as I looked at him.
"I hated the way it felt when I saw someone else on top of you" He said looking at me. I didn't say anything I just looked at him. "I don't know. I guess it was selfish for me to barge in, but--" He shook his head.
"I don't know I guess I don't understand how I feel about you, I just know I don't want to see you with another guy" He admitted looking at me. I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Can I admit something to you?" I whispered, he looked back at me waiting for me to speak. I felt my face turn red. Was I really about to say this?
"I had a dream about you" I said glancing over at him. He furrowed his eyebrows and smiled. "Yeah?" He whispered. I nodded. "What was it about?" He asked as he looked at me. I just stared at him, unable to speak.
He licked his lips and turned away, smirking slightly.
"Are you tired?" He asked suddenly looking over at me. I furrowed my eyebrows and shook my head. He stood up from the couch. I just watched him. "Y/n's tired. I'm gonna walk her up to her bed" He announced to the room. My eyes went wide as I looked at him.
Their attention turned to Matt. Madi's eyes glanced over to me and I just looked at her. "Okay, we will be outside" Madi said back grabbing Chris and Nick's arm and dragging them back towards the door. "Ow, It's cold out there" Chris whined as she pushed them out the door.
Matt looked back at me and I stood up.
"Are we gonna talk about this?" He asked looking at me. I shrugged. "I don't know" I admitted. He swallowed. "I want it to be you" I whispered. He stepped towards me. "Are you sure?" He asked. I nodded.
"Are you still with Jessica?" I asked. He let out a breath. "I told her it was over after I kissed you" He admitted, making me smile. "If you don't want to make this into anything more than it is that's fine" He shook his head.
"It can be purely transactional" He said stepping towards me. "Okay" I breathed. "Okay?" He asked. I nodded. "I trust you" I said. He smiled and nodded. He glanced towards the stairs then back to me.
Within three minutes we were up in my room, his lips pressed to mine. If you would have told me this would be happening a week ago, I would have never believed you.
I pulled back. "Have you ever been with a virgin before?" I asked looking at him. He shook his head. "Okay" I breathed out, anxiety filling my chest worried I was going to disappoint him with my lack of experience.
"If you want to stop at any point, I'll stop and I won't mention it and we don't have to talk about it. I don't want you to feel like you can't change your mind, no matter how far we are okay?" He said looking down at me. I let out a breath nodding.
I already felt way more comforable than when whatever was happening when I was with Evan. I swallowed.
"I-I'm not like other girls that you've been with so if i do anything wrong, I want you to tell me because I have no idea what i'm doing" I whispered back. He smiled and looked down at me.
"That's a good thing y/n" He said looking down at me. "I wanna make you feel good too, I just--" I started to say. "You'll do fine. Just trust your instincts" He said shaking his head smiling.
"I don't have instincts" I said making him chuckle. He nodded. "Just follow my lead okay?" he said as he pressed his lips against mine. I melted into the kiss as he wrapped his hands around me, pulling our bodies together before pushing me back against the bed.
He stood in front of me and ripped his shirt off throwing in on the floor. I smiled up at him as he crawled over me grippng my chin in his hand as he kissed me, slipping his tonuge into my mouth.
I trailed my hands down his back, slightly scratching my nails against his back. He whined against my lips, surpising me making me smile. His hands stayed by my head while one slightly grazed my side.
"Matt you're not gonna break me, touch me like you mean it" I said pulling apart and looking at him breathing heavy. "Are you sure?" He breathed looking at me. "Show me what the hype’s about" I smiled up at him. He licked his lips smiling.
"I'll tell you if it makes me uncomforable, just do whatever you want" I spoke. His eyes glistened. "Don't tell me that" He shook his head. I smiled and moved my hands in his hair.
"Do whatever you want to me Matt" I whispered again looking at me. He smiled before pushing my shirt completely up exposing my bra in front of him. He attached his lips to my neck and pushed his hands over my chest squeezing my breasts. I breathed in from the unfamiliar touch.
I arched against his touch. "Sit up" he said against my neck. I sat up and in one swift motion he pulled my shirt over my head and unhooked my bra with one hand, ripping it off of me. I breathed in from the coldness of the air hitting my bare chest.
He sat up looking down at me. I just looked at him as his eyes scanned my body. Oh god. Oh god. A boy is staring at me and I am naked. No one has ever seen me naked in a sexual way before. I didn't know if i had good boobs. I didn't know if I looked hot. I had no idea what I looked like compared to every other girl he's been with.
"God, they're perfect" He whispered looking down scanning my body before kissing down my chest and pinching my nipple in between his fingers, making me moan even catching myself by surprise.
"They're okay?" I mumbled from above him. He leaned up pressing his lips against mine biting harshly on my bottom lip, slipping his tounge into my mouth, fully pressing his hands over my bare self.
"You have the prettiest tits i've ever seen" He mumbled against my lips making me smile. "Thanks I guess" I swallowed looking at him. He smiled.
"You should wear more revealing clothing. It'd drive me crazy because I know i'm the only one who knows what's underneath" He said before leaning up and unbuttoning his pants. I felt my face go red at his statement, making him smile as he pushed his pants down and kicked them off leaving him in his underwear in front of me.
"Are you doing okay?" He asked looking down at me. I nodded. "I'm okay" I breathed. He smiled leaning back down over me. "Okay" He whispered. "Don't be nervous" He shook his head.
"Yeah it's not like your dick is going inside me" I stated looking at him making him chuckle. "Is it gonna hurt?" I whispered. He let out a breath looking at me, nodding. I let out a breath leaning my head back.
"I'll talk you through it, it's okay. Do you wanna stop for a second?" He asked looking down at me. I swallowed. "Just take a few deep breaths and tell me what you're thinking" He whispered kissing the side of my face softly.
"Matt I have feelings for you"
He looked up at me. "I haven't stopped thinking about you for weeks and I-I just wanted to tell you before we did this" I swallowed looking at him. "If that makes you want to change your mind I get that--" I stuttered.
"It only makes me what to do it more" He stated cutting me off. I just blinked at him. "I like you too you idiot" He shook his head. I smiled letting go of a breath. "You do?" I asked. He rolled his eyes.
"Thought I made it obvious" He stated. I glared at him. "What? No you were such a--" I started to say but he pressed his lips to mine keeping me from speaking. I smiled against his lips as he pushed my legs apart and reached down unbuttoning my pants.
"Can I take these off?" He asked pulling apart. I nodded. He pushed them down and I kicked them off, and his hands immediatly went over my underwear.
I took a breath in and pushed my knees together. He sighed leaning his head against my shoulder. "You don't know how many times I've thought about this" He mumbled against my shoulder. I looked up at the ceiling.
"Really?" I asked as he felt me over my underwear. "Really" He stated as he pushed his fingers under my underwear and moved his fingers into me.
I grabbed his shoulder. "Matt" I breathed. He stopped. "What?" he froze. "Your fingers are cold" I breathed making him chuckle before pushing one of his fingers into me completely. I moaned from the feeling.
"God, keep doing that" He said kissing my neck. I let out unsteady breaths. I opened my mouth from the feeling of his finger inside me, slightly wincing. "You're so tight, fuck" He said lifting his head and looking at me.
He pushed in and out of me making me whine and close my eyes. "Matt fuck I-" I said pushing against his fingers. "Feels good?" He asked kissing the side of my face. I just responded with a moan and placed my hand on the back of his neck. He pulled his fingers out of me making me whine and open my eyes.
"I can keep doing that and we can be done if you don't wanna go all the way" He whispered. I shook my head. "No, please. I need all of you" I breathed looking at him, making him smile.
He leaned up pushing down my underwear making me completely bare underneath him. I just watched him as he pushed his hand over himself through his underwear letting out a hard breath.
"Tell me about your dream" He said hanging his hand as he pressed his hand against his length squeezing his eyes closed. I let out a breath as I watched him.
"Please" He whispered. I opened my mouth letting out a breath. "We were here. On my bed--" I breathed. He swallowed. "And you told me I wasn't as innocent as you thought" I explained, making him smile.
"I was begging you to fuck me and you said you wanted me to see stars" I breathed. He opened his eyes and stopped. "You wanna see stars?" He asked. I nodded. He smiled. "Then I'll make you feel like you're in the sky angel" He whispered before pulling his underwear down and climbing on top of me and pressing his lips to mine.
He spread my legs apart before lining himself up with me. "Go slow" I whispered. He nodded. "Are you okay? Are you ready?" He asked looking at me. I nodded. "I need you Matt please" I whined making him smile and take in a breath.
"I need you more trust me" He breathed before pushing inside me. I swallowed as he pushed inside of me. I whined from the inpact as he let out unsteady breaths. "Are you okay?" He asked looking up at me. Pain spiked through my body. Well, I wasn't a virgin anymore.
I looked up at the ceiling nodding. "Just keep going" I breathed out. He pushed into me more, making me wince. He let out a breath. "You don't have to take all of it" He said. I let out a breath trying to adjust to the new feeling.
"I'm taking all of it" I said back. He chuckled and shook his head before contiuning to push all the way in me. I gripped his shoulder hard. "Matt, oh my god" I cried looking up. He stared down at me. I felt him pulsing inside me.
"Tell me when you're ready" He whispered looking down at me. I took in a breath. "Okay, I'm ready" I said back before he pushed out of me almost compelely before pushing into me again. Oh my god, I was having sex.
His head fell against my shoulder. "You feel so. good." He mumbled against my skin, making me smile. He slammed into me a little harder making me moan loudly. Something I never thought I'd do in front of a boy, I always thought It ws kind of embarrassing. But I could NOT help it.
I pulled him closer to me pressing our chest together and digging my nails in his back. "Fuck" He cursed from the feeling. He kissed down my face and to my neck. He sped up slightly, making me whine beneath him.
"Are-Are you okay?" He asked quickly. I nodded profusley, thinking I would die if he stopped. The pain almost had completely subsided. He smiled at my reaction before pressing his lips to mine again.
"You're doing so good for me" He mumbled against my lips, making me clench around him as he moved against me. He bit on my lip harder. I dug my nails deeper.
"Fuck, keep doing that" He grunted against my lips. "You're so pretty, so perfect letting me do this to you" He whispered against my ear, making my eye close and whine. I don't know why but it turned me on even more when he was talking to me, especially like this.
He pushed his hand down between us moving his hand in circles against me. I jerked against him, grabbing his arm. "M-" I tried to speak but I couldn't. I felt like I couldn't keep going like my body was taking this all at once and I was going to explode.
I squirmed under him, shaking my head. He looked up at me. "You've got it. It's just an orgasm, just let go" He shook his head looking at me. "Matt I can't take-" I cried as he pushed into me.
"Yes you can, I promise. I'm close too, but i'm not finishing before you" He shook his head moving his hand faster. I arched against his touch before I screamed letting go all over him. He pulled out before finishing immediatly all over me, before he even had time to touch himself.
I sighed feeling my body go limp as he hovered over me. He froze staring down at me. "Fuck, I'm so sorry. I did not mean to-" He said looking down at me. I smiled before grabbing his arm pulling him next to me.
"Thank you" I whispered shaking my head. He smiled shaking his head. "No, thank you" He chuckled. I smiled as we stared at each other. "So you've got a praise kink" He chuckled. I furrowed my eyebrows. "What?" I breathed smiling. He licked his lips.
"A praise kink" He repeated looking at me. "Every time I said something, you clenched against me" He stated making my face go red and I turned away from him. He laughed grabbing my arm.
"No, no. I love it" He smiled at me. I shook my head looking at him. "So you've got a pain kink" I raised my eyebrows. He let out a breath before turning and sitting up.
"Okay" He chuckled, making me laugh. He stood up before standing up off my bed and pulling his boxers back on. I looked down at my stomach, just seeing him quite literally all over me. I looked over at him and he walked into my bathroom. I just looked up at the ceiling.
Uh what do I do?
I swallowed suddenly feeling very vulernable, just being left here. I looked back at the bathroom hearing the water running, not seeing him. I let out a breath sitting up on my elbows.
"Woah woah, lay back down"
I turned seeing Matt walking back from the bathroom with a towel in his hand. I stared at him. "I didn't think you were coming back" I stated honestly. His eyes went wide and he shook his head as he climbed back on the bed.
"Wow you really do think I'm an asshole" He shook his head smiling as he climbed back over me and moved the wet towel over my stomach. I just watched him as he moved the towel against me and then in between my legs.
"Guess what" I whispered. He glanced up at me. "What?" He smiled looking back down at the towel. "I'm not a virgin anymore" I smiled. He shook his head as he climbed off of me throwing the towel into the dirty clothes. He grabbed his shirt before looking at me.
"Sit up" He stated. I sat up before he pulled the shirt over my head. He crawled off my bed before walking over to my drawers and looking through them. I realized what he was doing.
"Top drawer" I stated. He looked over at me before nodding and pulling out a pair of underwear and shorts before walking back over to me. I just watched him as he moved my legs and pulled them over me.
"You didn't have to do this" I whispered as he pulled my shorts over me. He shook his head smiling. "Yes I do" He stated before setting my legs back down and crawling over me, placing a kiss on my cheek and laying against me.
I smiled as I ran my hands over his back softly, before I realized I quite literally drew blood on his back in scratches. "Fuck Matt, I'm so sorry" I gasped running my fingers over the marks. He chuckled against me.
"It's okay, I have a pain kink" He mumbled, making me laugh. He lifted his head before attaching his lips against mine. I kissed him back softly before he pulled away looking at me.
"How are we going to explain ourselves to all of them downstairs?" I whispered looking at him. He just looked at me smiling. "I don't know. Guess they’re gonna have to get used to it" He smiled. My eyebrows furrowed. "We can do that again?" I asked making him sigh smiling.
"If I'm lucky" He whispered, making me shake my head. He leaned down kissing me once more before rolling off of me and pulling me up with him. "Where are we going?" I smiled as he pulled his pants back on.
"I'm gonna go introduce my friends to my girlfriend" He smiled. I shook my head. "Were you going to let me know that I was your girlfriend?" I chuckled, biting back a smile. He shook his head walking up to me.
"The second you kissed me, you were mine" He whispered looking down at me before kissing me briefly and then grabbing my hand.
"Now come on birthday girl"

Teach us - Part one
@missakward123: can you do dom! reader poly marauders? Also loved this!! Yes I can, but I have such a hard time writing a sub!Remus, so I kinda took it in my own direction.
Part two is found here!
Reader x Remus turned into Reader x Poly!Marauders.
Masterlist.
Tumblr media
They thought it was strange how Remus had been the first to lose his virginity out of the three of them. Both Sirius and James had girls throwing themselves after them constantly, but somehow, Remus was the first to go all the way.
You had always found them all quite attractive, but thought that Sirius and James tended to be a bit obnoxious at times. When you saw Remus studying alone in the library one day, you thought you’d go up and say hi to the tall, handsome guy. The two of you had only talked briefly before this interaction, but soon found that you enjoyed each other’s company. It didn’t take long from there for you to go on a date and soon you were a couple.
Remus, ever the gentleman, didn’t tell his friends about your first time, he thought it was best kept private between the two of you, therefore you always tried to keep it somewhat lowkey, finding time to be perfectly alone. Though any secret could not be held for long in that dorm and one evening the cat came running and screaming out of the bag. You thought you’d get to be alone with Remus, as the other two had practice. As it turned out, however, practice was canceled and the door to the dorm was thrown open just in time for the two surprised boys to see you orgasm, quivering around Remus’ cock.
It slightly ruined the mood and you struggled to cover yourself as Sirius went on a long rampage about “The betrayal! The absolute betrayal. Our baby moons got laid and didn’t tell us. Here he is, having had sex the whole time – while keeping us in the dark.” He was pacing back and forth, only half joking about his distress before deciding to be the bigger person and be happy for his friend. “Good job Moons. First one out of all of us. Amazing.” With a chef’s kiss he left the subject of betrayal and moved on to something else.
After the embarrassing moment of coming in front of your boyfriend’s friends, it didn’t take long before the question was asked.
“Hey Moony, since you already had sex, could you teach us how to do it?”
“Yeah, Moons, I wanna be ready for when Lily lets me go all the way if you catch my drift,” James agreed, with a very unnecessary wink as everyone understood exactly what he meant.
You stared, gaping. That they would ask such a question didn’t surprise you one bit. The fact that Remus seemed to be actually thinking it over did.
“I guess,” he started, patting your thigh, “you’re gonna ask her if she’s willing to teach you.”
You, teaching his friends how to have sex? The idea was preposterous. Yet… It did make you feel a certain tingle between your legs. You still found them attractive, and the thought of being the one to take their virginities? Oh, that was just beautiful. You thought it over in your head. Remus was quite dominant, not really treating you as a submissive but he liked being a bit in control, he’d never let you have all the reigns. These two however… Looking Remus straight in the eye, you searched for any form of hesitance – you didn’t find any.
“Alright then, we’re gonna have to set some rules,” you said.
It was agreed that the day after, you’d help take your boyfriend’s best friends’ virginities. You said 24 hours to give everyone a chance to back out, and told them very specifically that they would shower, properly, “none of that locker room stuff, a real shower, clean everything.” It was best to be clear when dealing with teenage boys.
A whole 24 hours later you found yourself walking up the stairs to their dorm. You knew Remus would be there, and you knew they’d given consent. You wore your school skirt, but without panties, a t-shirt with a very flattering bra and your hair out. You had to get yourself in that dominant mood, ready to boss the boys around. Since becoming Remus’ girlfriend, you had gotten to know his friends as well. You knew James would be easier to dom, and you knew Sirius would be a little brat. Therefore, you started with James. Opening the door, you could cut the tension with a knife.
The boys were so cute and nervous, standing up and waiting for you (not Remus, of course, he was comfortably splayed out on his own bed). “Jamie,” you said. “Do you still wanna do this?” He nodded. “Okay, then take your clothes off and sit down on your bed. You,” you turned to Sirius, “are gonna have to wait your turn.”
When James was naked and seated on the edge of his bed, you took a moment to appreciate his toned body. The moment didn’t last very long though as you wanted to feel him. Climbing into his lap, thighs straddling his, you took his face and held it in your hands. He was so pretty, so soft, so pliable. “Jamie, have you ever kissed a girl?” you asked him, bringing your mouth so close to his that your lips almost touched his. “No,” he said, cheeks flushing red. Holding onto his cheeks, you brought your lips against his, softly at first, then with a little more pleasure. The warm breath from his nose on your cheek sent chills down your spine. Deciding to progress, you slightly opened your mouth, letting your tongue out to lick lightly at his lips. He moaned.
You continued kissing him, making out really, until you felt he was ready to move on. Leaning back a little, you pulled your top over your head, revealing your soft tits, perfectly framed by your bra. “Go ahead, baby, you can touch.” With your permission, warm hands pressed against your back before following the lines of your body, meeting your front and lightly squeezing your tits. You allowed him to explore freely, until he pushed his head down, paused and looked up at you, eyes asking for permission. Instead of answering him verbally, you pushed your tits against his face, letting him know he could kiss and suck all he wanted. He did manage to get your bra off all on his (you were so proud of him), and as it fell to the floor, you felt his cock twitching.
You let him play some more with your boobies before taking his hand, kissing it once and telling him “Jamie, have you ever felt a girl?” When he shook his head, you kissed the top of his head and pushed his hand down, between your bodies and toward your core. “Feel that? I’m all wet, that’s all for you baby,” you cooed, watching his facial expressions in awe – he was so fascinated. “Now, do you know where your little cock is supposed to go?” Little was a big lie. His brows furrowed in concentration as he felt around for the right hole, he did find it, and pushed a finger in. “Good boy, now put your cock in.” You raised yourself, hovering above him, hand coming down to help him push his cock into your warm hole. “Oh that’s a good boy f’me,” you moaned, loving the feeling of him filling you up.
Being so focused on James had almost made you forget about your audience, looking to the side, you met Remus’ hungry eyes. You could tell he was enjoying the show, hand rubbing against the bulge in his pants. You decided not to look at Sirius, making him wait for your attention.
Grabbing James’ shoulders, you carefully tried moving, sliding yourself along his cock, making you both moan. You tried a few different movements, going up and down, back and forth. It felt really good and you enjoyed playing around with it, and it seemed as though he was enjoying it too, his head thrown back, glasses askew and mouth slightly open. Suddenly his hands squeezed hard on your hips, making you stop your movements. “Jamie, you okay?” You asked, massaging his scalp with your fingers. “Yeah,” he reassured, “yeah, just need to… I’m gonna come…”
You giggled softly, “it’s okay if you do, but first, I wanna do one more thing.” Pulling your body away from his was hard, letting his heavy cock fall out of you was even harder, and you immediately mourned the loss. Though, you knew it would be worth it. Laying down flat on your back, you beckoned for him to join you, to climb on top of you. “You should know how to fuck a girl, Jamie,” you said, helping him find his way back into you. His athletic body was made for this, for moving himself back and forth, hips pushing against yours. He didn’t go very fast, but you knew he’d be able to when he got more used to the feeling. Hiding his face against your neck, letting the vibrations of his moans shoot right through you, his hips started making the smallest, cutest, most desperate little movements. “That’s good baby, that’s a good boy, you’re doing so well, so good, making me feel so good.” You didn’t think you’d be able to come, he was a virgin, but the little thrusts pushed the head of his cock against you in a way that just felt too good to hold back.
“Jamie, baby, I’m ‘bout to come,” you moaned, kissing his head, holding him close, “you’re so go- ah-od,” your moans grew louder as you experienced a rather mild orgasm, though, an orgasm nonetheless. Your walls spasming around him made him come as well, pretty cock filling you up with his little virgin cum.
“Wow, Jamie, you did so well, I’m so proud of you,” you told him, after he had pulled out and collapsed on top of you. His head was still buried in the crook of your neck, his breathing fast and hard. “Did you enjoy it?” You asked, to which he pulled his face away, eyes wide. “Like it? That was amazing.”
You stayed like that, letting him hold onto your body for a while, not wanting to leave him without aftercare and love. Though you knew, as soon as James moved away from you, you’d have to deal with his mischievous best friend. Before you let James continue his cuddling – with Remus – you made him promise you something. “Next time love, you’re gonna let me take your cute little cock in my mouth, okay?” To this, he nodded, excitedly.

tied down (hjp)
pairing: harry james potter x fem!reader AU
summary: you and harry potter, the biggest flirt at hogwarts, have been secretly hooking up for weeks after playing hard to get. harry's been dragging his feet when it comes to making things official, so when his flirty tendencies get him in trouble, you decide to play him at his own game and win.
content warning: mentions of hooking up, toxic harry, alcohol, jealousy, angst. briefly edited, not book/movie/canon accurate.
word count: 3.3k
a/n: trying to write shorter blurbs between my longer requests, so please let me know if you like this! i also think it's my first sfw blurb, but trust that i'll be back w the smut in no time <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
harry was known to be a player around hogwarts. he definitely wasn't afraid to go after what he wanted, as he wasn't often rejected. girls seemed to fall for him before he even got the chance to flirt with them. however, that seemed to change when you came to hogwarts.
harry had immediately tried to hit on you, of course. but he knew there was something different about you right away. not only were you the prettiest girl he'd ever talked to, you were also the hardest to get.
you didn't fall for harry's tricks right away and saw through his act. at first you were a bit put off by his player attitude, but you thought he was cute, so you decided to keep him around to see how far he'd actually go for you. you weren't one to be charmed and dropped within a week. if harry really liked you, he'd have no problem working for you.
so, that's what he did. harry focused his attention on you, made time outside of his friends to be with you, and was actually starting to feel real feelings for you. with other girls there was just this instant attraction, which would then fizzle out after harry got what he wanted. with you, however, the feelings only got stronger the longer you kept him guessing. he found himself intrigued by your clever personality and completely enamored with your humor.
after a while of pining for you, you finally gave in to him a bit. it was hard to hold yourself back from something you also wanted, but it was worth making him fight for it.
harry had asked you to help him 'study', which of course meant you were actually working on your assignments while harry was drooling over you the entire time. you didn't mind for the most part, he can be pretty cute when he gets caught staring, but you weren't about to be the only one working.
"can't you focus on anything for more than 2 seconds?" you had asked harry with a laugh, turning to meet his gaze on you. you were sitting in the library in a secluded section, a dim light above your heads as the sun began setting outside of the windows next to you.
"you. all day." harry smirks, looking you up and down. you rolled your eyes, but harry saw the blush on your cheeks. "and you can't even do that without getting distracted." you tease him, smirking in return as you close your textbook.
"a guy runs into a pillar one time…" harry mumbles, annoyed. you're laughing at the memory, your hand covering your face. "it wasn't funny!" harry insists, but your laugh is making him crack a smile.
you look at him again, and he's enamored with the sight of you. giggling, blushing, the lighting so beautiful around you he swears he believes in angels now. you shake your head at him, still smirking and chuckling. "it was pretty funny." you told him, leaning towards him from laughing so hard in your seat.
"you're pretty." harry deadpans, his eyes searching you over and over. you really were pretty, prettier than harry could ever put into words.
you would normally roll your eyes or scoff at harry's attempt to flirt with you, but he wasn't flirting. he was being genuine. his eyes were honest and full of admiration for you in that moment.
so, you just leaned in and kissed him.
it was simple, sweet, and opened the gates to so much more over time. harry took it as an invite to start kissing you at random, intimate moments as well. nothing more than a kiss for a while, until you were the one to actually push it further by making out, giving harry love bites, touching over clothes, which then lead to touching under clothes…
within a few months you two were hooking up in secret nearly every week. harry had flings here and there before but never anything exclusive and extended like things have been with you. and while you found the secret hook ups to be exciting and fun at first, you didn't want to just be another girl on harry's roster. you were really starting to like him, and didn't want to see yourself get played.
whenever you tried to joke about becoming official, harry would laugh you off or ignore it completely. he knew it was starting to frustrate you, but he'd never been in a relationship before and he was afraid it wasn't what he really wanted. of course harry had feelings for you, feelings he's never felt for someone before, but he's always wanted to keep his options open. besides, he liked your casual hookups. was that so wrong of him?
he liked moments like right now, sitting across from you in the gryffindor common room, hanging out with a few friends and giving each other knowing looks between conversations. while everyone around you knew you two were definitely flirty towards one another, nobody really knew how much time you spent together. not just hooking up, but all the times the other has stayed the night talking for hours until the morning, or all the private study dates alone in the back of the library. you guys were definitely more than friends with benefits, but harry never acted like it when other people were around. he could tell you were starting to find it annoying rather than flattering.
your friends had been talking about a party someone was throwing that weekend when a couple girls walked through the room on their way out to leave. "guess i should start asking around for a date then, huh? what about you, you seem fun." harry's friend called towards one of the girls. they both turned to him, looked at each other, and laughed, making you laugh to yourself.
"what? i clean up nice!" he tried to redeem himself. the girls scoffed at him. "yeah, right," one of them said sarcastically. "yeah," the other said, still giggling as she looked towards harry. "besides, i'd rather go with your friend." she says in a flirtatious voice.
a few of your friends give you a side eye, but you just smirk and look at harry, waiting for his response. he glanced at you before looking at the girl and laughing nervously. his friend laughed heartily. "i don't think he's available that night..." he said, turning his head towards you.
harry throws his hands up defensively, a smirk on his face as he looks the girl up and down. "hey, you never know. i could be." he says with a chuckle. more eyes are drawn to you as you look at him with a curious expression.
"call me then." the girl says with a wink before leaving with her friend, giggling the entire way out the door.
there's a silence in the air as everyone looks between you and harry. he sees everyone's concerned eyes and becomes confused. "what?" he asks with a laugh.
you scoff at him, amused at his confusion. "what was that?" you asked, your tone still playful as you gesture to where the girls were. "what? it was a joke!" harry says, his hands raised in defense again. you click your tongue and roll your eyes, an evil smirk growing on your face. "oh, come on, [y/n]," harry says with an exasperated voice, leaning back in his seat.
"i don't know, harry, that was cold." harry's friend says with a nervous laugh. "yeah, [y/n]'s sitting right here." one of your friends reminds him.
you look back at harry, who's now rolling his eyes. "i was kidding. besides, we never said we were going together," he argues, pointing in your direction. all eyes fall back on you as a few "ooh"s are let out under breaths. you cross your arms, still giving harry that same evil smirk.
he looks at you again, his eyes softening at your expression. "stop, i'm not–""no, you're right. we never said that," you interrupt him with a sarcastic, knowing tone in your voice.
harry gave you a look, knowing what you were doing. "you never know, i could still find a date," you tell your friends, who start laughing with you. harry's friend looks towards him nervously, but his eyes were narrowed in on you. "right, harry?" you ask him innocently.
harry's tongue runs across his teeth, feeling his blood pressure rise just from thinking about you with another guy. however, he's not about to let you have the upper hand in front of everyone just like that. "yeah, sure. i could too." he says coldly.
still smirking, you nod your head and stand from your seat on the couch. "perfect, guess we gotta go find me a dress, yeah?" you ask your friends who eagerly jump up to join you on a shopping trip. on your way out, you wave a casual goodbye towards harry without another word.
harry's friend hits his shoulder, laughing at him. "you fucked up," he tells him. harry shrugs him off. "whatever, we're not even dating. besides, she won't actually bring another guy." harry tries to convince himself, still staring at the door. "if you're not dating then why would you care, mate?" harry's friend's still laughing at his misery when harry gets up to go to his room.
harry doesn't hear from you the rest of the week, and gets incredibly anxious the night of the party thinking you actually might show up with a date. by the time he's on his way with a few friends, all he wants is a drink to calm his nerves. because, well, so what if you showed up with a guy? you weren't his girlfriend, and that's how harry wanted it, right?
"nervous about something, harry?" one of them asked, snickering with the others. "shut the fuck up." harry snaps, only making them laugh harder at him. "lighten up, mate. just shag someone else tonight and get over it." another teased him. harry just stayed quiet and ignored their taunts.
harry's already finished with his first drink before he notices you entering the room. you looked fucking incredible. the dress, the hair, the makeup, everything was perfect. any other time he would've been thrilled to see you so dolled up, but he knew you only did this tonight to spite him. you knew exactly what you were doing and you were doing it well.
you were laughing with a few friends and getting your first drink when you spotted harry, already staring you down. you instantly smirked and gave him a look from head to toe before turning away and following your friends to the other room to dance.
harry followed as well, his friends joining behind him to find girls to dance with. the music was too loud to think, but harry's mind was racing watching you sway your hips to the song as you joined the crowd of dancing students. he tried to keep an eye on you but you disappeared into the sea of faces.
"just have fun, mate." one of harry's friends yelled to him over the music, patting him on the shoulder. harry gave him a half smile, nodding in his direction. he was right. if you were going to be like that, harry could play along too. he was the player first, anyway.
scanning the rest of the room, harry finds a decently pretty girl on the edge of the crowd and begins talking her up. he's only half-interested in the conversation with the clearly tipsy girl, his eyes still searching the room to find you again.
he's about to give up and go looking for you when you suddenly come into his view, only a few feet away. you were dancing in front of some guy, he looked like a kid in harry's eyes. you were chatting with him, your hands messing with the bottle in your hand as your hips continued to sway. you weren't even close to him or seemed to be flirting with him at all, but just seeing you with another guy looking as good as you did made harry's fists clench.
you glanced in his direction and he immediately turned to the girl in front of him and began laughing, nodding his head to the music, pretending he never saw you. once harry felt your gaze drift away, he looked back, and you were gone.
sighing, harry says his goodbyes to the drunk girl and gets another drink for himself, chugging half of it before coming back up for air. he stands by the table for a minute trying to let his heart rate slow before hearing your laugh entering into the room.
harry turns and sees you saying your goodbyes to a different guy than the one from before, some tall kid with terrible posture that harry could easily take on. as he leaves the room, it's just you and harry next to the drinks. you turn and see him, a surprised smile on your face. "hi," you say politely, stepping around him to grab another drink.
"how long were you planning on torturing me, exactly?" harry asked you, sounding angrier than he meant to. you just chuckled to yourself, a confused look on your face as you removed the cap from your next bottle. "what do you mean?" you asked innocently.
harry let out an angry huff, staring at you with his jaw set. "you know exactly what you're doing." harry deadpans. you look at him knowingly, taking a swig of your drink before shrugging. "i'm just having fun." you told him with a smirk. "yeah, i can see that." harry spits out. you're clearly reveling in his jealousy which is only frustrating him further.
he looks you up and down once more and can hardly contain himself. your skin looks so soft, and you smell even better than you look. he's never seen you in such a short dress and it's driving him insane knowing it's not just for him. don't these losers staring at you know harry's the only one that's seen what's under this dress? that he knows all your favorite spots to be kissed, your weaknesses, your fantasies? that he's been fucking pining over you for months to get your attention?
speaking of losers, another one comes into the room and walks straight up to you, ignoring harry like he was never there. "hello, beautiful," he said in a voice that made harry aggressively roll his eyes, turning his head to look away, his hands balling into fists again.
"saw you on the dancefloor and figured i'd ask for a song," he invites you, grabbing your hand and kissing your knuckles. "you've got every eye on you tonight, yeah?" the loser says, causing harry to lick his teeth and turn his angry stare back to you.
you were smiling at the guy politely, too politely for harry's taste, before turning him down gently. "no problem, maybe i'll win you over later." he says with a wink before leaving, never acknowledging harry once.
you looked back at harry with a smug smile. "really? i'm right here." he says incredulously, throwing his hands up. you can't help but laugh. "doesn't feel good, does it? at least i rejected him." you make your point with raised eyebrows, taking another drink.
harry sighs, the anger subsiding as he sets his drink down. "look, it was a bad joke, okay? i wanted to come with you this whole time, and i think you know that." he says with a pout. you just continue smirking. "i know." you say simply.
"then why? why are you doing this to me?" harry begs, a hint of anger still present behind his guilt. you laugh again, and it only makes harry more confused and upset. "just enjoy yourself, harry." you tell him, patting his shoulder like his friend did earlier as you left behind him.
harry downs the rest of his drink and half of his third before returning to the room with the music, seeing a few of his friends dancing with some random girls. as harry walks through the crowd, a girl grabs him by the shoulders and begins dancing with him to the beat of the music. harry looks at her, looks around, and sees you to his right.
dancing with yet another guy.
this time he was holding your hand as you swayed your hips to the music, watching you with a hunger in his eye. harry's rage immediately returned. he looked down at the girl who grabbed him and pulled her closer to him, moving his hips to the beat with her. after a moment he looked back at you and caught your eyes for just a second before you returned to dancing.
harry continued to move with the girl half heartedly in an attempt to get your attention for a few minutes before he saw you heading for the front door with your friends. just as harry broke away from the dancing girl to follow, a completely different guy cut him off to chase you out of the room.
harry could physically feel himself succumbing to his anger as he stomped towards the door. he entered the hallway and saw you standing just a few feet away, your back turned as your friends were dying laughing beside you.
as harry approaches, he sees the guy that just followed you out now in front of you, clearly drunk, asking you repeatedly if you'll give him your number. you're saying, "no, i'm sorry, no, thank you, though," with an uncomfortable laugh, trying to turn him down gently.
the guy literally drops to his knees in front of you, his hands in yours, begging for your number. "please, please, just gimme a chance, you're so–" he gets interrupted by a burp. "so pretty," he chokes out.
your friends are giggling amongst themselves before harry walks up to the guy, stunning them into silence. "she said no, fucking tosser," harry's voice bellows, picking the guy up by his collar from his knees. "now leave my girlfriend alone, yeah?" harry growls into his face before throwing him towards the door. the guy flips harry off before stumbling back into the party.
your friends gasp and laugh to themselves again, telling you they're gonna go before running off down the hall together giggling the entire way.
harry's breathing heavily, his fists still clenched staring at the door. "girlfriend?" your curious voice perks up behind him.
he turns to you, smiling at your shocked expression. his hands relaxed, as well as his mind. "yes, my girlfriend." he says matter-of-factly, taking a step towards you to put a hand on your waist. "i don't want any other guy looking at you the way they did tonight ever again. okay? you win. you're mine." harry says possessively, his hands gripping you closer to him.
you sighed. "i wasn't trying to make you mad tonight, i just wanted you to see that you're not the only one with options." you tell him smugly, your arms wrapping around his neck. "i want to be taken seriously, harry. that's all i ever wanted from you." you say genuinely, your eyes searching his.
harry looks down at you and smiles, admiring you for a moment. "you're all i've wanted since the moment i saw you," he admits, resting his forehead against yours. "i love you, [y/n]."
you smile, leaning in to kiss him softly. "i love you too, harry."

okay okay JC hear me, what about Alucare and Vivian interaction ?
Oh I like this! EVIL SMILE 😈 I like this a lot
Oh Hell No-
Tumblr media
For just 10c a day you can help a starving author, that's less then a cup of Ko-fi
Shanks, Mihawk x Reader + Alucare, Vivian
Check out the Old Man Series
It had been a exhausting month out to sea, Shanks insisting the crew go to the grandline. Paired with also having Vivian start training to be a pirate like him-
She didn't object to this, her eyes still following her inspiration of Luffy. She worked hard, Went out to assist the crew and learn the ways of the ship and of being a pirate. Much to everyone's surprise however was the two skills she had picked up- Sharp Shooting and Gambling.. Shanks wasn't too thrilled about either however he couldn't lie he was impressed- She had taken up to learning from Yassop on guns while naturally able to win a lot of card games from the crew and walk away with heavy pockets.
Making port in a small Village to do some basic restocks Vivian traveled off to explore the peer. Deciding to spend some of her winnings-
Vivian was blown away, seeing such a pretty guy standing there at the docks. He was older then her by a bit, he had lovely dark hair tied in a low ponytail and dressed in dark clothes ment for training. However it was his eyes- She could see his eyes from there, bright yellow like gold. A feeling of warmth hit her cheeks and chest as she stared- However he must have felt it since he began to look around with a scowl on his face, Vi quickly walking away to pretend she hadn't been staring at the teenager. Her face she was sure was as red as her hair-
"Don't travel far Vi!" Shanks called out, Even though he knew she had a small pistol that Yassop had gifted her. She kept his words in mind and went around the pier to explore, buying a few snacks and so on till a flutter of black caught her eye- Turning to see a smaller sea vessel and a boy standing infront of it like he was impatiently waiting.
"Well I'll be damned- Is that Hawkeye?" Shanks said, Snapping Vivian from her spying fantasy to look up at her father.
"Ah there you are Vi-" Shanks called out as he walked back towards his daughter and saw her red face. Raising a brow at her red face, going to speak on it till his eyes caught the teen still glancing around.
"You know him?" She said softly, Shanks however looked confused as he stared at the teen. Waving for her to stay put while he walked forward to the teen and the sea vessel.
Shanks shook Alucare's hand and smiled at the young man-
Vi watched from afar, It seemed the two talked briefly before the teen headed back to the sea vessel. Returning with two adults, a clearly pregnant women and a tall man looking like the teen but older and with weird facial hair and short hair.
Shanks spoke with the tall man before he waved Vivian over.
"This is 'Hawkeye' Mihawk a old friend of mine, and This is Vi my daughter" Shanks said proudly, Mihawks eyebrows raising at hearing this and stared at Vivian, a hint of a smirk on his lips.
"It's nice to meet you Vivian" Mihawk said calmly, (Y/N) however smiled brightly and shook the young lady's hand.
"It's very lovely to meet you Vivian, Shanks" She said calmly and Alucare nodded as well giving a fast greeting to the child.
"It's nice to meet you Vivian" He said as he shook her hand politely- The girl barely able to mutter the words in return as she looked nervous. The teen quickly releasing her hand and offering it to the older red head.
"Nice to meet ya, Damn you look just like your father" He said with a laugh, truthfully he felt a odd clench in his chest since Alucare looked like Mihawk when Roger's died.
"Well since we are all here, why don't we go to the pub near by, I hear they also have good food so it shouldn't be an issue" Shanks suggested with a happy smile, you of course agreeing at this and thinking it would be nice. Mihawk and Alucare giving similar sighs and nodding in agreement-
"This here is the rest of my crew-" Shanks introduced with a smile- Alucare being silent but polite, That was till he saw Ben Beckman and heard his name, Glancing back to his father with pleading eyes that read 'please say no-' But all Mihawk did was nod silently making the teenager deflate slightly. Deciding that keeping his mouth shut was the best option-
A short journey back to Shanks Ship he gathered his crew to all venture to the pub and of course they were familiar with Mihawk but gave sweet introductions to (Y/N) and Alucare.
Shanks set down his drink as his eyes focused, seeing how Vivians cheeks were red, her eyes sparkling and the way she nervously fiddled with her hair. You catching this and seeing her like this as well and how she smiled so awkwardly around Alucare who was clearly seeing this in more of a babysitting light-
Once all introductions were done the pirates filed inside, it didn't take long for drinks to be poured and food to be served. Vivian being seated to a unamused Alucare who seemed to passively be listening to her as she tried to start conversation.
Your eyes wondered around at seeing the drunk patrons, it wasn't like you were in a current condition to drink yourself so the food was your comfort. But you couldn't help but glance to your son every now and again- Shanks also following you gaze.
"Aw, She must have a little crush on Alu" You say with a giggle, Mihawk looking up from his glass at hearing this- his hand still on your lower back to keep you steady from some invisible force.
Shanks whole body seemed to bristle at this voiced notion taking another hard drink of ale.
"No, Vivian is far too... she's-" He stared harder, that's when he saw it. She tucked her own hair behind her ear shyly- he knew that move too damn well it was the one her mother used to do when trying the flirt and a move that lead to Vivians creation paired with other moves much later on.
"Oh Hell No!-" Shanks all but roared. Mihawk smirking into his drink.
This was bound to be entertaining-

Do you think best friend!felix would kiss the reader “for fun” but really…
hm. good question bc i really had to think about this bc if anyone can get away with platonically kissing someone it's 110% felix, and it does feel in character
i was on the fence until i remembered that the first (and only) guy i dated started off as a really good friend and before dating we'd kiss at parties and laugh it off the next day bc of the alcohol/atmosphere so it's very much realistic bc i did not notice for an entire semester😭
so let's discuss!!
felix would definitely hide behind the "for fun" defense by being as casual as possible with it. while out partying/drinking, he'd kiss reader so briefly the reader can barely register what's happening until it's happened. also this is mainly done after a particularly good/happy moment,, maybe after you two take a shot together, with that touch of adrenaline and the sting of alcohol still lingering there. would definitely do this if he felt jealous/saw someone checking out reader.
now, if we're talking actual, more intentional kisses that are harder to explain away....i think these are a definitely a lot rarer, but for sure have happened.
still uses the "for fun" argument if it's a party thing, like if everyone's kissing someone (like a NYE kiss) or it's bc of some party game, then he's lingering/being touchier than usual bc he can get away with it.
also not to take this a step further and make it even more difficult to justify, but i think there's a level of intimacy to it bc felix is so touchy/open with everyone, that eventually the only way to be particularly close to someone is to do more.
so,, and this is definitely the rarest type of kiss ( like it's happened at most 2-3 times) after drinking/smoking together, felix will kiss reader when they're completely alone, with no one to blame or goad you on or interrupt. these are slow and heavy. concentrated.
there's always an emotional component,, maybe reader had been poorly trying to hide their mood because felix had been a little too into being admired recently. or maybe felix feels left out about something and needs to find a way to feel even closer to reader.
after felix is definitely being more open than he usual is, telling you things like "i trust you more than i've ever trusted anyone, you know that right?" and "it's just you and me."
the first time this happened is the first time reader has a oh my god?? do i actually have a thing for felix? moment,, and after felix finally falls asleep, reader freaks out bc what if what happened ruined your friendship?
but then the next morning comes and it's like nothing happened, he doesn't even do that guy thing where they ignore you the next day, it's literally like nothing out of the ordinary happened and out of instinct, reader follows felix's lead
then reader convinces themselves that it's not that weird by telling themselves that felix has probably at least kissed most of the people that are around him for long enough which is kind of true and you know several people that he still hangs out with that he hooks up with on and off,,
so, with the amount of time you spend together,, it isn't strange. not when you know felix the way reader does.
when taylor wrote “and you kiss me in a way that’s going to screw me up forever” it was for felix
----
this might be a little much,, but i can see it for felix tbh 😭
anyways, if anyone's interested in a drabble based on any part of this, lmk!!

the deal
lee jeno, strangers to lovers
when a boy you didn’t know all too well asks for your number, you decide to make him work for it. when he asks for the second time, you make a deal with him.
word count : 1,766
Tumblr media
the house party was crowded. people were bumping into one another and the smell of everyone waa unpleasant to say the least. spilt drinks and broken chips were on the floor everywhere, along with the glitter from when two girls had came in and practically thrown the glitter they said they planned to put on their dresses - but this house was for sure going to have glitter found for the next ten years at least.
you didn’t have a reason to be here, but your friend had so desperately wanted to go, so who were you to say no?
you wanted to leave within one hour, because somehow your friend got drunk instantly and was currently off with a boy equally as drunk as her, chatting it up and most probably going to spend some time in the bedrooms together.
you had spent majority of your time now doing laps of the house, trying to find someone you recognised, but there wasn’t anyone. most of the people you knew were either drunk or in their own group, which yoh didn’t want to disturb.
so when you saw jeno, one of the boys from the universities basketball team, and also the bestfriend of the guy holding this party, eyeing you from the side of the room, you gravitated towards him.
you two hadn’t spoken much at school, or ever really, but he seemed like a nice guy from what you had heard about him. other than the fact that he never dated anyone who asked him out, which pissed a lot of girls you were friends with off, you had only heard positives about the guy who was still staring at you.
once you were practically in front of him, he grabbed your hand and pulled you closer, helping you narrowly avoid a guy who was drunkly walking past. you looked up to thank him, but fell silent when he was looking at you so intently. his hand still holding yours, and at this point you weren’t sure what to think.
“you keep staring at me,” you started, to which he hummed and took a sip from his red cup. his hand let go of yours and he slipped it into his pocket, turning his whole body to face yours. “I was wondering why?”
he smiled, looking around briefly before leaning down, faces close as he whispered into your ear above the loud music. “you’re really pretty.”
when he pulled away to see your reaction, you instantly looked away and turned your body to face the crowd of people instead. he laughed under his breath and leaned into to whisper into your ear again. “could I get your number, pretty?”
“you have to work for my number, jeno.” you shot back, not even looking at him. when you did turn to see him though, he was smiling such a precious smile you almost wanted to give your number.
but you had heard enough stories of guys asking for girls numbers at parties just to never actually contact them, so you didn’t want to even bother. if he were to talk to you at school and still attempt for your number, maybe then you would give him your number.
you mainly stuck to your friends at school, and didn’t really speak to people you weren’t friends with - jeno included. so you were fully expecting jeno to not even bother to speak to you on monday, when you two were back at university.
. . .
“hey” you turn to your side and jeno was standing there with a sweet smile. he pulled the chair beside you out, eyeing you before sitting down. when he didn’t sit down yet, you realised he was asking.
“you can sit..” He sat down next to you and began to unpack his things. you just stared at him. ‘did he really want my number that badly?’ you noticed his friends came in a few minutes later and judging by their confused expression, he didn’t tell them.
one of his friends came down to the seats you two sat at. “why are you sitting here?” haechan, the guy who’s party you were at merely two nights ago, asked.
jeno turned around to face them, “I wanted to sit here.” he said, before turning back to his laptop and pressing the on button. haechan looked at you and his eyes widened slightly before he started smirking. he shoved jeno’s shoulder and told him he was sitting at the back with jaemin.
“what was that about?” you asked jeno. jeno looked at you with a slight blush on his face. ‘what was going on?’ you wondered. ‘does jeno like me or something?’
“I’m not sure, he’s just being weird again.”
you only nodded and turned your attention back to your laptop, opening up the recent writing piece you had written for this class.
as you edited your writing, you saw out of the corner of your eye, jeno kept glancing at you. you smiled to yourself. maybe you were being delusional, but this boy was awfully obvious about this crush of his. but then again, you weren’t going to say anything until you were one hundred percent sure.
“you keep looking at me, jeno,” you look at him and his eyes widen in surprise to being caught, “what do you want to ask?”
“… what do I have to do to get your number?” you grinned and leaned your arm on the back of your chair.
“you have a basketball game coming up, yeah?” he slowly nodded, already seeing where this was going. “win the game and you get my number.”
“that’s not fair, we are going against the literal best university team.” he argued but you kept smirking.
“better start training hard.” you said, looking at him with a slyest of smirks.
he rolled his eyes, and copied your position, leaning his arm on the back of his chair as he turned his whole body to face you.
“it’s unfair to only get your number, what about something else?”
“what else do you want, jeno lee?”
“a date?”
“that’s all?” you say, frowning. he looks a bit shocked but he covers it quickly by speaking up again. “what about a kiss and your number?”
“deal. but you have to win, jeno.”
“I’ll try my hardest.” he says, putting a hand on his heart making you laugh under your breath.
. . .
over the time of him preparing for the game, he continued to sit next to you in classes you had together, and you began to really enjoy his company. the basketball game had ended a few minutes ago, and jeno’s team had won by one point. At the end of the game, you saw jeno looking around the crowd fanatically, and when his eyes landed on yours, he had smiled so brightly.
you agreed to him prior to the game that if he won you would wait for him outside by his car, which you had seen so many times from when he and you walked back to the parking lot together after class.
you leaned your back against the drivers door, looking down at your phone to pass time as the parking lot gradually got more and more empty.
soon enough, you heard the basketball team cheering as they left the stadium. you put your phone in your pocket and looked up, seeing jeno in the distance, talking to haechan and jaemin.
When he looked over to his car and saw you, leaning against it with your hands crossed, looking back at him with a smile, he immediately said bye to his friends and ran across the parking lot.
you saw how his friends watched and laughed to themselves before walking over to the rest of basketball team which had gathered back up again.
“am I holding you up, jeno?” you asked as he came to your side, slightly out of breath, clearly still tired from the game.
“no, i’m not going with them tonight anyway.”
“why’s that? don’t you guys always go and celebrate after a game?”
“I’m about to celebrate with you right now, aren’t I?”
you grin and shove your hands into your hoodies pocket. “do you want my number first or the kiss?”
“the kiss.” he said, already approaching you quickly. you put your hands on his shoulders and tugged him close to you. his arms hugged your waist while your lazily kept yours over his shoulders.
he leaned down, his lips ghosting your lips. you were the one to fully connect your lips together, but he was quick to follow. you both kiss each other with such a rush and adrenaline, but it was somehow one of the best kisses you’ve had.
you heard cheering from a far but you brushed it off, hugging jeno tighter as you tilted you head to the side and continued to kiss him until you were both running out of air.
as you pulled away, jeno turned his head and looked over to his team, so you did too. the team were the ones who were cheering, and even though they had begun walking off, haechan, jaemin and a few others you didn’t recognise were cheering loudly for jeno as they walked away.
you laughed and moved one hand off from his shoulder and up to his chin, you gripped his chin and turned his head to face you again. you kissed him again but it was less fast this time.
when you pulled off his lips, he continued down to your neck, placing kisses all over your neck, which made your breath hitch in surprise.
jeno was breathing heavily when he pulled away, as you were too. you reached down to your phone and pulled it out, passing it to him once you unlocked it.
he hummed and grabbed his own phone out, passing it to you. as you exchanged numbers, you both remained quiet. when you returned his phone and got your own back, jeno spoke.
“I know this wasn’t part of the deal, but can I take you on a date anyway?” you beamed up at him with a happy smile.
“right now?” you asked, and when he said yeah, you instantly agreed. before you could walk past him to go to the other side of the car, he gripped your hips and pressed a kiss to your forehead, his lips still ghosting your forehead when he pulled off.
“I like you so much, you don’t even know how long I’ve been crushing on you before I even spoke to you.”

And You Will Find Me
Summary: The last thing Bradley expected when he was assigned to the unofficial “singles without a plus one” table at an old friend’s wedding was to meet who he thinks might just be the love of his life. But that’s exactly what happened.
Pairing: Bradley Bradshaw x Reader (no use of y/n)  (can be read as Forgetful Boy and Pumpkin from RYEWID, but not necessary to read that first)
Word Count: 3.8K
Warnings: Language, fluff, love at first sight.
Notes: Written for @roosterforme's ‘80s Rocktober Playlist Fic Challenge, and as part of The Forgotten Moments Collection, but can very much be read by itself. Song selection is Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper.
The Forgetful Boy and Pumpkin first meeting one shot that I’ve been wanting to write since I referenced it in part three of RYEWID. The fact that I could do it for a challenge for one of my favorite people makes it even more exciting for me.

Bradley Bradshaw: Table Four
He grabbed the gold trimmed cardstock with his name on it, sipping on a glass of bourbon as he made his way into the reception hall. It didn’t take long to find his placement with the elaborate centerpieces displaying calligraphic numbers.
There were only two open seats left at the table, which was occupied by a group of people who were all staring down at their phones. He glanced around the rest of the venue, seeing all of the other tables bustling with conversation and laughter. He raised his eyebrows in surprise at the awkward silence that seemed to hang over this one in particular. No one seemed to know each other, and it didn’t look like they planned to make any effort to change that.
He groaned to himself and wondered, not for the first time, why he had thought attending this wedding was a good idea.
He hadn’t seen Sean in years, and had never even met Lucy. The two had been roommates for two years at UVA and had somewhat kept up with each other over the years, if only barely. They had always joked about how on the off chance either of them got married, they’d make each other's guest list. Bradley had laughed when he got the invite in the mail. He had waited until the last minute to send in the RSVP, but had ultimately decided why not? He wouldn’t know anyone there, and hadn’t managed to find a date in time, but he hadn’t been to Philly in way too long. He’d make a quick weekend out of it and see an old friend.
He hadn’t realized until he got into town how awkward going to a wedding on his own would be.
He sat in one of the empty seats, nodding to the guy on his right who forced a smile that looked just as awkward as it felt before turning his attention back to his phone.
Bradley was glad he had thought to refill his drink before cocktail hour ended.
He was scrolling through his phone when he saw a flash of orange out of the corner of his eye at the same time the seat next to him was pulled back.
He glanced up briefly to offer a quick smile to the new arrival and looked back down at his emails, only to do the quickest double take of his life. His breath caught in his throat and he swore his heart stopped, only to start again three times faster.
Holy hell.
“Is anyone sitting here?” you asked, and Bradley had to blink a few times before he realized you were talking to him, because your voice was mesmerizing.
“All yours,” he managed to say. He would have winced at how his voice cracked if he wasn’t trying to remember how to breathe. You offered a warm smile as you gracefully sat down. You were a vision in a long sleeve, burnt orange dress that looked like it would be silky to the touch. When he glanced down, he had to bite down on the inside of his cheek to stop from groaning when he saw the slit going up the side and the nude heels on your feet. You were the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, and you were sitting beside him fiddling awkwardly with your place card as he stared at you.
“I’m Bradley,” he finally managed to introduce himself, extending a hand out. You looked at him in surprise.
“Oh! Hi.” You took his hand with a soft, gentle grip, your eyes locking onto his as a spark went through his whole body. Your eyes widened a fraction and he wondered if you felt it, too. He almost didn’t catch your name when you said it because he was so distracted by the feeling. “So, bride or groom?”
“What?”
You laughed softly, and he worried about going into cardiac arrest at the sound. “Are you here for the bride, or for the groom? I assume since you’re at this table it’s either one or the other and not both.”
“This table?”
You glanced around at your other tablemates, still busy with doing everything they could not to make eye contact with anyone else. Then you leaned closer to him, and he couldn’t help but do the same. You whispered to him like you were sharing something salacious. “The singles table. The ones who came alone and who wouldn’t know anyone else, and who they’re kind of surprised RSVP’d ‘yes’ to begin with.”
Bradley let out a loud laugh, and you giggled right along with him. The sound was like music. It earned you both curious and maybe even annoyed looks from all those at your table. He hadn’t considered that before, but now that he thought about it, you were absolutely right.
“Groom,” He replied, “College roommates. You?”
“Bride,” you told him. “Ironically, also college roommates.”
“Well would you look at that,” Bradley smirked, and he knew the amusement that sparkled in your eye was mirrored in his.
He was interrupted from saying anything else from the DJ tapping on the microphone to formally start the reception. As the bridal party danced their way into the room to Celine Dion, he kept stealing glances at you. To his pleasure, you were stealing them right back. By the time Sean and Lucy were seated at the front table and the DJ announced that dinner would be served momentarily, Bradley could barely look away. There was a smile on your face that indicated you didn’t mind at all.
It continued that way through the meal that was eventually placed on the table. You didn’t speak much as you ate, both of you feeling like you were disrupting the other six people spread out on either side. But you kept catching each other’s eyes and smiling before you looked away, and his cheeks were nearly hurting at how big his smile was.
Fuck.
Bradley barely even knew your name, and he was already down bad.
You leaned over to him during the speeches that started immediately after dinner, and he caught another whiff of your perfume. He tried his best not to noticeably take a deep breath of the scent. “Do we think the best man is already drunk?”
“Oh, he absolutely is,” he confirmed. The man in question was laughing hysterically at a joke he just told, already swaying on his feet. “I saw him throwing back an entire flask right before the ceremony.”
Your nose scrunched up in the most adorable cringe he had ever seen. “Yikes. I don’t really blame him though. The maid of honor is his ex-fiance. I’m pretty sure she left him for groomsman number three, but I can’t confirm.”
He looked at you with wide, curious eyes. “Did Lucy tell you that?”
“No,” you laughed, mindful of keeping your voice down to not draw any attention to yourselves as the slurred speeches continued. “I drove up last night and then was bored before the ceremony today. Social media is very informative, you know.”
Bradley choked out a laugh, absolutely amazed at you. “Are you a private investigator or something?” he asked, genuinely curious.
You picked up your wine glass with a smirk, and you winked at him before you took a sip. “A journalist, actually. But close enough.”
A journalist. Bradley filed that information away in a new folder in his brain that had your name on it.
Clapping drew his gaze away from you, and he realized he had completely shut out the rest of the speech. He cleared his throat and joined in, and the two of you watched as the bride and groom did their first dance. It felt like it lasted forever, but that was probably because he was itching for it all to be over so that he could talk to you again. He wanted to know more about you. In fact, he found that he wanted to know everything about you.
Everyone clapped again when the dance came to an end, and Bradley was turning to you before the DJ even finished announcing the beginning of the party.
“What are you drinking?” he asked, and he thought the look you gave him was a mix between delighted and amused. Your eyes cut to your mostly empty wine glass where he could very much see exactly what you had been sipping on. He felt heat creep up his cheeks in embarrassment.
“White wine,” you said anyway. “What are you drinking?”
He fought the grin that was threatening to take over his face. You were keeping him on his toes, and he found he quite liked it. “Bourbon.”
“Ah. Well, I don’t know about you, but I’m about due for a refill.”
“Is that so?” he asked with a raised eyebrow. You glanced around the table where the other occupants were back to scrolling through their phones or focusing on anything that wasn’t another human being. He almost laughed at the look on your face when you turned back to him. You grabbed your clutch from the table and the two of you rose out of your seats at the same time without even having to say anything.
“After you,” he grinned, and your smile made him dizzy. He ordered another whiskey while you got Pinot Grigio. He laughed when you told him you weren’t allowed another glass, because too much white wine apparently made for a very interesting night. He filed that little tidbit away, too.
With fresh drinks in hand, you turned to walk back to your assigned seating. The lights had dimmed and the music had turned to something upbeat and very cliche, and the majority of the attendees had converged on the dancefloor. You navigated around them carefully. His hand hovered over your lower back, not quite touching, but wanting to. You drew to a stop when you were only a few feet from the table, your head tilted to the side.
“I hate being seated at these tables,” you muttered. “Always makes me feel like maybe I shouldn’t have come.”
Bradley had been thinking the same thing until you had sat down beside him and shook his hand. He couldn’t help but flex his fingers as he remembered how his skin had buzzed at your touch. He glanced around the whole venue again, not quite knowing what he was looking for until he caught sight of the patio through the large windows.
“Do you want to ditch and go outside with me?” he found himself asking before he could stop himself. He held his breath when your eyes snapped to his, slightly wide in surprise. But they softened quickly, and you nodded, tucking some of your hair behind your ear with your free hand.
He held out an arm, and after only a moment of hesitation, you slipped yours into it. He almost felt like he was floating as he guided the two of you toward the open doors.
The patio was decorated beautifully. It stretched almost the entire length of the building, and twinkle lights lined the ceiling and the pillars holding it up. Smaller tables and furniture were spread out amongst the concrete and the two of you settled into the soft cushions of one of the outdoor coaches.
It was a mild night, even for early February in Philadelphia, and the heat coming from the fire pit in the middle of the table in front of you was enough for it to be comfortable. You sat in silence for a beat, but it wasn’t awkward. Your fingers danced over the rim of your wine glass and Bradley’s gaze followed as you brought it to your lips. You caught his eye as you swallowed, and he felt the heat creep onto his cheeks at being caught staring at you again.
He cleared his throat, taking a sip of his own drink to gather himself. “So. A journalist. What do you write about?”
“The hypocrisy of old men, mostly,” you shrugged, and Bradley’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. You laughed at his expression. “I cover politics,” you explained. Your joke registered with the context and he chuckled.
“So just how hypocritical are the old men of Philadelphia?” he asked, and you seemed delighted that he was going along with it.
“Eh,” you said, shrugging your shoulders. “Very, I’m sure. But I cover Washington, which is definitely worse. I live in DC.”
Bradley’s breath caught in his throat. Excited disbelief had his eyes widening. There was no way. In the back of his mind he had admittedly already been thinking of how often he could feasibly make the drive from Andrews to Philly, because he knew he had to see you again. Tonight couldn’t be the only time, not with how he was feeling and how he was pretty sure you were, too.
“Small world,” he finally managed, trying to keep his voice steady despite his racing heart, and now your eyes were widening back. The happiness in them was hard to miss, and, holy shit, you were excited about this. He felt the urge to pinch himself.
“You live in DC?”
“I’m at Naval Air Facility Washington doing extended training at Joint Base Andrews,” he told you, still in a bit of disbelief, but feeling giddy.
“Ah. Navy man, huh?”
It took a moment for Bradley to realize his cheeks were red again. He doesn’t think anyone has ever made him blush before, or at least not as many times as you had tonight already.
“Naval Aviator,” he elaborated.
You smiled, and it felt like the whole world disappeared except for the two of you as you held out your glass. He raised his to tap against it in cheers. “Here’s to small worlds, then.”
“And to college roommates,” he added, and your laugh took his breath away.
The two of you sat there with your drinks in hand, and the conversation flowed effortlessly, talking about everything and anything. He found himself hanging onto your every word. He couldn't help but be drawn in by every single thing about you. He learned that you grew up here in Philadelphia and, like him, you were an only child. You got your undergrad in journalism and then a masters in political science and moved to DC before the ink was even dry. You were a little bit addicted to coffee and true crime podcasts, and you were a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan. He told you about growing up in Virginia and being in the Navy, and about his love of the 80s and playing piano.
But you talked about more than just the surface level stuff, too. As the occasional sound of laughter drifted outside from the dancefloor and the fire pit glowed in front of you, you told him how sometimes, you wondered if you were really cut out for your career, because the nature of what you had to cover drove you absolutely crazy, and you felt like people focused on the wrong things. You tended to have a self-imposed terrible work/life balance and your anxiety crept up on you because you’d ignore it for too long. You weren’t close with your parents, and your bucket list was full of things you were scared you’d never be able to do.
In return, he let you in on the reason he wanted to join the Navy in the first place, and growing up with a single mother and what it was like when she got sick. He confided how he had a bad habit of hesitating both in and out of the air, and how he didn’t really have any connections or relationships outside of the Navy that went more than just skin deep or a memory of what used to be.
He shared more with you than he had with anyone else, and somehow, it felt like the most natural thing in the world. It was like he had always known you, or at least like he was meant to now.
You were so caught up in each other that neither of you realized just how much time had passed. Before you knew it, the music from inside was starting to soften and the lights were turned back on, and the servers came outside to start collecting empty glasses and trash.
“Oh wow,” you breathed in surprise, “We missed the whole reception.”
You stared at each other in silence for a moment, and then at the same time, you burst into laughter.
“Can I walk you back to your hotel?” he asked you once you had calmed down. You had mentioned how you were staying just a few blocks away, and the thought of you walking alone or getting a car this late at night didn’t sit right with him. It was strange, how he already felt the urge to protect and care for you.
Plus, he wasn’t ready to say goodbye just yet.
“I’d like that,” you said softly, much to his relief.
The bride and groom were inside wishing everyone goodbye, and you both took a moment to speak to your respective reasonings for being there. Neither of you lingered for long, and the balmy night air greeted you again when you exited the building after collecting your coats.
You didn’t hesitate to link your arm with his when he held it out this time. He felt warm all over with you this close to him. Despite the late hour, the city was still alive with people out and about and laughter and conversation spilling out onto the sidewalk from every business you passed. He held onto you a little tighter when you walked by some decidedly way too drunk people, but you didn’t seem to mind. You kept the conversation going just as easily as it was when you were sitting on the patio, swapping embarrassing stories from your college days. You were walking through the park, nearly at your hotel, and it was when you mentioned something about dancing on a table at a frat party after too many shots of Fireball that he came to an alarming realization. He stopped so abruptly that you were slightly yanked back into his body, and you looked at him in concern. Before you could ask what was wrong, he was blurting the words out.
“I never asked you to dance.”
You gave him a confused look and then snorted in amusement. “I suppose you didn’t.”
“Oh my god,” he groaned, tilting his head back and slapping his palm to his forehead. “I had the perfect opportunity to dance with you and I never asked.”
You were still laughing, your feelings clearly not hurt at his lack of consideration. But he was already digging his phone out of his pocket and swiping open his music app. He held it out in your direction. “Pick a song,” he told you.
“What?” you laughed. “Bradley!”
“I’m serious! Pick a song.”
He pushed his phone a little closer, and with an amused look, you finally took it. You bit your lip as you thought for a moment before you started typing, and then the soft sounds of Time After Time were floating in the air.
“You said you loved the 80s,” you said almost shyly. But Bradley smiled, taking the phone back and slipping it into his jacket pocket. The music was muffled now, but you could both still hear it.
“It’s perfect,” he told you. He held out a hand for you to take, and once you slipped your palm into his, he pulled you close. You rested your head on his shoulder as you began to sway. The night was quiet and serene as you danced, and he didn’t know what he did for his night to turn out this way, but he was so glad that it did.
When the song came to an end, you stopped moving, but didn’t separate. You picked your head up and looked at him, your eyes locking together. You didn’t say anything at first, but eventually, you sighed and a soft, reluctant smile tugged at your lips.
“I should probably get back,” you whispered.
“Are you sure?” he asked, desperate to stay in your presence for as long as possible. You had entered his life so unexpectedly, and he was wishing with everything in him that you wouldn’t be leaving it anytime soon. “You aren’t going to turn into a pumpkin once the clock strikes midnight, right?”
You shook your head at his joke, giving him a playful wink in return. “I don’t know. This does feel a bit like a fairytale.”
Your words made him grow a little more serious, and he swallowed thickly as a charged energy seemed to settle over both of you. You bit your lip as you stared, your gaze wide and saying a million things at once. You had the most expressive eyes he had ever seen. He wanted to look at them forever.
"You know," he said, his voice lower now, like he was afraid to disrupt the moment by being too loud. He brought a hand up to your face, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.  “This is not how I anticipated my night going.”
The air between you crackled with unspoken words, his hand still lingering near your cheek. Then, in a move that felt natural and inevitable, he leaned in, and you met him halfway. Your lips touched softly, a spark of electricity passing between you. It was a kiss filled with promise, a taste of what could be. It was as if time stood still, the world around you fading away until it was just the two of you.
When you finally pulled away, both of you were left breathless. Bradley looked at you with a mixture of desire and genuine affection that should have scared him, but it didn’t.
"Wow," you whispered, your lips curving into a shy smile. He knew exactly what you were feeling with that one word, because he felt it too.
He brushed his nose against yours, breathing you in. “Tell me I can see you again when we get back to DC,” he begged.
You let your hand rest against his chest, and he was sure you could feel the pounding of his heart. “I was hoping so,” you said, and he breathed out a happy laugh of relief before kissing you again.
Standing there under the soft glow of the lampposts, Bradley thought he might love you already.

"Lost?"
You looked over at the person who spoke, lips pursed together as you shook your head. "No, I'm not..." which was a lie. You were, in fact, lost. Though, being lost was an understatement. You couldn’t remember anything, if you were being honest. Your name, where you are, where you came from, if you were with someone... all of it was just a blur right now. And it wasn’t helping that your surroundings looked so off. Lamps, chairs, and other items floated freely in the air. Not to mention that you always felt like you were about to wake but couldn’t quite do so.
"You sure? Because where I’m standing, friend, you do."
'Friend?' You finally looked over at him, your eyes scanning him up and down. His blonde hair and multi-colored eyes were the first things of his appearance that stood out to you.
"I’m sorry, do we... know each other?"
"Forgetting me already? We met this morning when you and the rest of the Astral Express crew got to Penacony and ran into some trouble at the front desk."
“Astral Express? Penacony?” The more the man said, the more confused you got. Nothing was making sense and your memories were not coming back to you no matter how much you tried. You looked him in the eyes then, but despite your confusion and your silent cry for help in understanding anything he was saying, he merely smiled.
"Something wrong?"
You wanted to answer him truthfully. Tell him that you couldn’t remember, that this place was apparently called Penacony, that you don’t know what an Astral Express is, and that you have never seen him before. But... something deep inside of you was telling you not to tell him a single thing. A deep part of yourself was telling you to lie.
"I-" You didn’t know what to do. Briefly looking around, you saw that no one was coming to talk to you like this man did. Which probably meant that no one else here knew who you were either.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t remember anything that you just mentioned. I don’t know the Astral Express or Penacony... and I don’t remember you either.”
Ultimately, you decided to tell the truth despite the alarm bells going off in your head. You were lost, had no memory of where or who you were, and you may or may not have friends that are also in this place. So, you decided to take a chance even if that chance is with this guy with a smile that could cut through any lie. And, little did you know, when you finished telling your truthful answer, his smile grew wider if only by a slight margin.
“You don’t remember? Well, that’s a shame. Weird too. I never heard of anyone losing their memory in the dreamscape.”
“The what scape?” The man chuckled, “you don’t even know that you’re dreaming? How tragic.”
You frowned, “I’m dreaming? That doesn’t make any sense. If I’m dreaming, then how are you here? You seem too real to be someone that I dreamed up.”
The man merely shrugged, “it’ll take too long to explain. For now, just accept that Penacony is a land of dreams where people go to escape reality. And everyone here shares the same dream.”
“So, you are a real person,” you tried to affirm.
“As real as you, I can promise that.” You sighed, “fine so I lost my memory then? How is that possible?”
“That, I am not too sure of. A case like yours has never happened before, but... since people can apparently die here, well, maybe losing one’s memory isn’t so far-fetched either.”
“Wait, what was that about dying here?”
The man waved his hand in a dismissive manner, “nothing you should concern yourself with. Trust me, even if you ask around about what I just said. No one will know. The Family, of course, is just trying to cover it in order to not cause a riot.”
“The Family? My family or yours?”
He smiled that same calculating smile of his, “it’s not that type of family... just see them as... an organization.”
You nodded along. Truth be told, this was starting to be too much for you. Trying to process all the new information being lightly tossed to you was starting to make your head hurt. You slightly wondered if you would even be able to remember this new info then the memories you have previously lost.
The man, taking notice of your worried expression, decided to leave it at that, “for now, let’s get you out of this dream so you can properly rest, and then tomorrow we can start looking into this little problem of yours together.”
“Right, thanks…”
“I’m Aventurine, and you’re y/n, just in case you were wondering.”

dirty little secret
smut! choking, cheating and reader gets tied up.
someone asked for a cheating matt so here!!! very rushed but hope you enjoy! happy to be writing again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
every friday at 6:30pm he was outside my door, waiting in his car until i came outside. the second he saw me close my apartment door after myself, he immediately got out of his car, opened the passenger door for me and got back into the drivers seat.
when i got into his car, he would greet me, drive to a enclosed area and fuck me rough in his back seats.
our schedule is friday night until sunday night. he fucks me for them 2 days straight.
no one knows what we do together. not his best friend, not my bestriend not even his own brothers know what we do on the weekends. well i know for a fact that they can hear us, well mostly me. he tells me to be quiet when he’s thrusting into me but i can’t help but scream from his size.
if i ever see him in public which i mostly do, he’s my boyfriends close friend.
my boyfriend tucker. brief summary of him; he treats me like shit, he can’t make me come(matt always makes me come) and he works late on weekends so i never see him, he doesn’t suspect anything.
matt’s brothers don’t know that it’s me he’s fucking. if they knew he would definitely be called out.
as i was saying, if i ever see him in public i can’t be caught looking at him, even when he’s talking. it’s one of his rules. he’s the quietest out of the whole group, so there’s not a lot of talking coming from him.
he rubs my damp panties underneath the table with his veiny hands, with long fingers and thick rings covered on them and no one bats an eye.
it was a friday night. it was my twenty-first. my best friend violet organised a party with all our friends, matt included of course. violet made sure it was at the bar my boyfriend works at, so he could “see me.” it’s only because they don’t ID and she’s still twenty. i made sure to buy a nice fitting dress that showed my curves and of course, my boobs were nearly spilling out of it, it was all for matt. i didn’t care if my boyfriend stared at me, i didn’t care if any random guy stared at me. all i cared about was if matt stared at me. i wanted him to punish me for wearing such a revealing dress around him, i wanted him to not be able to contain himself around me.
matt and his two brothers chris and nick walked in through the door.
my breathing hitched. he looked so good.
rings covering his fingers, a chain around his neck that i loved to pull and that i broke way too many times.
“happy birthday!” nick chimed. i smiled at him, trying to not stare at his brother. “thank you nick, thank you both for coming!” my eyes skimmed past matt’s. i made eye contact with chris and smiled at him. he was sweet. “of course, where’s the restroom though?” “i’m gonna piss myself!” chris squealed. i laughed. “it’s over there to the right,” i pointed towards the back of the building. “thank you!” chris ran off. “is violet here?” nick asked. “yeah, she’s somewhere in the crowd of people.” “come find her with me!” nick dragged me by hand into the group of people.
“nick!” violet exclaimed, taking her arms off her boyfriend and wrapped her arms around nick. “how are you?” he asked pulling away. “i’m good!”
matt stood behind us. i could fill his presence. “i’m getting a drink nick, what do you want?” he mumbled. “dr pepper, you better buy the birthday girl a drink!” nick turned me around to look at matt.
matt stared down at me. i gulped. “what could you like birthday girl?” i could feel the dampness between my legs begin. “malibu and coke please.” he nodded his head before making his way over to the bar. he went straight up to tucker, my boyfriend. i tried to indulge in the conversation that violet and nick were having, i couldn’t. my eyes kept reverting back up to matt talking to tucker and i wanted to die.
matt came back with the drinks. his hand briefly touching off mine. “thanks.” i mumbled. “i’m going to find chris.” matt stated. “okay!” nick looked between me and violet.
i walked out of the restroom, well i was walking until my body clashed into something hard.
“what do you think your doing?” he growled. i looked at his arm, tattoos. matt.
“w-what do you mean,” i stuttered. “in that little slutty dress acting so innocent,” he closed the space between us making me back into the wall behind me. “i’m not innocent you know me well matt,” i batted my eyelashes. “stop!” he wrapped his hands around my neck, gently squeezing. “harder daddy,” i teased him, a smirk planted onto my face. matt’s hooded eyes stared down at me. “listen to me baby,” his grip got harder. “we’re gonna go out there and your going to tell everyone you don’t feel so good,” “your gonna go back to your apartment, strip naked for me and wait until i punish you okay?” his left hand soft caressed my face. i nodded my head. “okay good girl go!” he let go of me. as i walked away matt lightly slapped my ass making me turn back at scowl at him. he had a pretty smile on his face.
“happy birthday sweetie,” tucker wrapped his arms around my waist. i cringed at the pet name, was he my mom?
“thank you,” i gave him a fake smile. “i don’t feel so good sadly, im gonna have to head home, i have work tomorrow anyway,” i pulled away from his grip. “but it’s just my break now?” he furrowed his eyebrows. “im sorry, i’ll make it up to you.” that was a lie.
it wasn’t that late when i got home.
i slipped out of my dress into something more comfortable and layed on my couch until i heard that very familiar buzzer sound.
“i missed fucking you in my car,” matt pecked my lips. “well you get to fuck me in my bed, that’s even better.” i pecked his lips back. “come on, i have a surprise.” matt held his hand out.
i layed down on my bed, my eyes closed as matt told me to wait. my heart was beating fast, i didn’t know what to expect.
i opened my eyes. matt grabbed a tie from his jean pocket. “hands up,” he ordered. i nodded my head and quickly put my hands up for him. he roughly tied my hands against my head board. “this isn’t even the start baby,” he kissed me. i whimpered underneath him.
he left to find something in the kitchen.
i couldn’t see what he had but i could feel it.
a cold ice cube met my stomach. i gasped as matt ran it down my stomach. he guided it with his mouth, slowly meeting my thighs. a cry escaped me as matt moved the ice cube to my soaking sensitive flesh. he rubbed it over my clit. i didn’t know how it wasn’t melted already. i moaned as he made me even wetter. “please baby,” i managed to speak. “no i’m enjoying you like this,” he spoke from below me. i could barely look down at him from my arms being restrained. i put my head back, frustrated.
matt left again for the kitchen.
he came back with another piece of ice in his mouth, hovering over me.
this time he lowered the ice over my nipples making them suddenly get hard and point up. i tried to move for some friction but nothing was working. “matt-matt please, i’ll do anything,” i was now begging. he pulled away from me, dropping the ice cube down on the ground beside my bed.
“what should i start with first?” he scanned my body. “maaaaatttttttt!” i whined. “enough!” matt gritted his teeth. my eyes rolled into the back of my head, i was too overstimulated. my body was in so much pleasure.
matt began sucking on my soft pink nipples, slowly and softly, torturing me, going softly on purpose.
he made his way down to my soaking core, that was practically begging for him.
his middle finger coated in my juices as he pounded it into me. all i wanted was to grab him, which i couldn’t do.
“your so pretty baby,” “looking like this for me,” he positioned himself inbetween my thighs. he gave me a sweet innocent smile as he slowly ran his tongue between my folds making me scream. “i can’t do it.” i cried. the pleasure was too much, making my eyes water. “look at you,” matt pulled away from me. my juices all over his mouth and chin. “your such a mess already and i’m not even inside you.” he pulled my clit into his mouth.
matt kept my hands tied as he thrusted inside me.
he grabbed my legs and put them on his shoulders, so he could get deeper inside me. we were both a moaning mess.
i came. matt came.
“fucking ride me.” matt undid the tie around my hands and flipped me over.
i did as i was told. i rode matt like the good girl i was for him. he grabbed onto my hips and pushed me deeper inside making me lose control of the pace i was in.
less than 24 hours later.
“i know right?” tuckers hand wrapped around my waist.
matt was sending him daggers from across the room, he wasn’t staring at me. he hadn’t looked at me all night.
“thanks for the ride matt!” tucker shook matt’s hand. “of course bro,” matt mumbled.
“you coming?” tucker asked. “i left my lip liner somewhere in here, i’ll meet you inside okay?” i lied straight through my teeth. “okay, don’t be too long.” he winked which made my stomach churn.
tucker was now no longer to be seen. matt pulled me towards him. “your my dirty little secret baby, not him,” “are you gonna fuck him tonight?” he grabbed my face. i shook my head. “even if i did, i would think of you,” i gave him the most innocent look possible. “of course you would,” “enjoy your come-less sex baby, i’ll see you on friday.” he pressed a rough kiss against my lips.
i backed away and he let go of my face. i whimpered. “what’s wrong?” he titled his head.
i looked down at my skirt that was rising at my thighs. “that’s it,” “your mine now tell him to fuck off.” he kissed me hard and grabbed my waist.
sorry about it being short! i love you <333

Tolerate It
Things had been off with Jake recently. He wouldn’t do anything to hurt you. Or so you thought.
read part two here.
warnings: mentions of cheating, angst, jake is a jerk, reader has anxiety but not explicitly stated, gaslighting??
Tumblr media
Jake had been off recently. You couldn’t exactly place your finger on what was wrong but he had been acting differently. The longing glances you used to share seemed to become shorter each passing day. The eyes that once looked at you with love and trust had slowly started to fade until there was nothing left.
At first, you thought he had just been busy with work. After all, he was one of the best pilots in the Navy. You thought it was just another bump on the road that was your relationship. You figured he’d tell you what was upsetting him and you guys would be able to go through it and move on together.
“Jake,” you said while knocking on the door to your shared bedroom. “Please talk to me.”
He had come home from work and seemingly blown off all your attempts at affection. He just went straight upstairs to your bedroom and began talking on the phone.
That was another thing. Jake had been using his phone a lot more recently. He had tried to hide it and use it at times when he thought you were sleeping or were too busy to notice but you had been paying attention.
A part of you wanted to believe that Jake wouldn’t do anything to hurt you. You had known him for years. You had been together since high school. You followed him all over the country. You waited for him when he was deployed. You thought that he would do everything in his power to protect your emotions.
The rational part of you knew that he had to be hiding something. Your relationship had seemingly gone in limbo. You felt like you were trying and giving your all while Jake was giving you nothing back. You were tired of feeling like a burden. You needed reassurance. All you wanted was for him to tell you what was going on.
“Jake,” you knocked again. “Please open the door.” You were on the verge of tears. You just wanted to talk to him. You just wanted him to look you in the eyes and tell you that everything was okay. You wanted to hear him say “I love you.” Finally, the door opened.
“What is your problem,” he said, voice laced with anger.
“My problem? You’re seriously asking what my problem is.” You spat back at him. “My problem is you don’t talk to me anymore. There’s something off about you recently. You’ve been acting differently.”
Jake just stared at you and then walked downstairs.
“Where are you going,” you asked while running after him.
“Out.” He replied.
“What do you mean you’re going out? Jake just talk to me please it doesn’t have to be like this. I love you.” You said as tears started welling up in your eyes.
“I’ll be back.” He replied coldly. “I just need some space.” With that he slipped on his shoes and slammed the door to your shared home.
You went upstairs to your bedroom with the intention to just go to sleep. He’d talk to you when he was ready. Maybe something had happened in training today. That had to be the reason he was acting so cold.
As you settled into the bed, you noticed a vibration. You quickly realized Jake had left his phone at home.
You looked at the screen and saw that he was receiving a call from your friend, Juliana. No no no no no no. You thought to yourself as the tears began again. This couldn’t be true. Of course, you had your suspicions but you thought you were being silly. Jake wouldn’t do anything to hurt you. Or would he?
Why would he need to be talking to Juliana. She was your friend after all. They had only met briefly a few times. They had barely exchanged two words. You wanted to believe that there was nothing wrong with the interaction. Maybe they were trying to get to know each other better, for your sake.
You walked downstairs and started pacing the living room, waiting for Jake’s arrival. You had to get to the bottom of this. Maybe Juliana was helping him out with something. You thought. Or maybe this was who he had been sharing all these secret phone calls with. Maybe this is who he was referencing everytime he said training had run late or he was going out.
How could you be so naive? There had to be an explanation for this. Jake was the love of your life. He was your first everything. He wouldn’t betray your trust like this. He wouldn’t be seeing another woman. Let alone your friend. Or would he?

Protector
Jessie Fleming x Reader
Summary: Jessie stands up for you and gets you out of an uncomfortable situation. You show her your appreciation in more ways than one.
Warning: Mention of unwanted advances. Nothing graphic or violent at all on that front, but I want to be cautious. Beyond that, very consensual, very explicit smut.
A/N: This is in response to this request.
Tumblr media
“I told you I’m not interested.”
You cringed as the guy standing across from you continued to leer at you. You exhaled irritably as you peered around the room in search of Jessie.
You were at a media event with her for the league and though most people were lovely, this guy was ruining your night. The event was in a mixed space, so there were all types here.
Jessie was doing a segment with the team and you were mingling in the meantime, but this guy seemed to keep showing up despite the fact that you made it clear you weren’t here to pick up. And let’s be real, he wouldn’t be your type at all anyway.
“Come on. I’ll buy you a shot. Loosen up a little - it’s a party,” he insisted as he leaned down towards you.
“Hey, everything okay?”
Relief rushed through you as you heard the familiar sound of Jessie’s voice and felt her hand come up behind you to rest on your hip.
“Yeah, everything’s okay. Could be better though if you can convince your friend to have a drink with me.” He talked over you with a smirk before locking eyes with you and adding, “I promise I’ll show you a good time.”
You tensed up, ready to snap at him, but was quickly distracted by how Jessie’s hand tightened on you and she pulled you in closer. She took a step forward to stand partially in front of you, serving as a buffer between you and the guy. He towered over her, but she didn’t seem fazed.
“She said she’s not interested. Now, have a good night,” she said calmly, but with a distinct terseness in her voice.
You turned with Jessie, grateful to leave, but his patronizing laugh echoed over the din of the room.
“Oh, now I get why you don’t want to have any fun. But seriously? You think she’s going to show you a better time than me? She looks like she should still be lugging books around campus. When you want to take the training wheels off, come find me.”
You were about to round on him when Jessie beat you to it.
“Maybe if you learned how to listen to what a woman is saying to you instead of talking over her and telling her what she wants, you’d actually find someone,” she said evenly with an underlying sharpness. “Clearly, anything anyone tried to teach you about manners or respect was lost on you.”
He scoffed and she merely smiled at him. “If you’ll excuse us, my girlfriend and I are going to enjoy the rest of our evening in peace. Have a good night.”
“Right,” he said sarcastically before giving you a nod. “Like I said, come find me when you’re ready.”
Jessie tensed up, taking a step forward and holding up a hand. “Don’t speak to her that way. She’s not an object or some prize for you.” She saw him readying a retort and rolled her eyes rather than reacting further. “Come on, this is pointless,” she said softly to you as she began to usher you both away. You halted her briefly, a glint in your eye before you turned to him rather smugly.
“For the record,” you cuddled into Jessie, “your offer was pretty weak. I already get ‘fuck you through the mattress, back to back orgasms that leave you hardly able to walk’ kind of sex, so,” you looked him up and down, “I already know I’ll be having a good time tonight.” You gave a facetious wave. “Bye, now.”
This time you let Jessie usher you away and you went deep into the crowd, leaving him behind.
“Geez, you didn’t have to say all that,” Jessie mumbled, her cheeks tinged pink as her gaze flit about. “I mean, he was a total fucking jerk, but wow.”
“But babe,” you drew out the nickname, “it was too hard to resist.” You leaned in with a flirty smirk. “And it’s not like it’s untrue.”
Normally, Jessie would banter and reciprocate, but from the expression on her face she was not ready to joke.
“Are you okay?” She asked, concern clear on her face as she looked you over. You kissed her.
“I’m totally fine. Thanks to you.” You gave her a wink.
She rolled her eyes a bit but gave you a faint smile. “I know you can handle yourself, but I’m glad I could be of service.” A moment passed and she sighed, her features falling into a glower as she looked away. “God. What a jerk. I’m sorry you had to go through that.”
You frowned and shook your head in mild disbelief. “You don’t need to be sorry.”
Jessie exhaled. “I should’ve shut him down faster.” Her gaze flicked over to you before dropping to the floor. “I probably should’ve just told him to fuck off.”
You frowned in deeper confusion. “What do you mean? You handled it perfectly,” you assured her as you leaned in to try and capture her gaze. She didn’t respond audibly and just offered you a nod. You could clearly see that she was in her head and making assumptions about things she shouldn’t worry about. You stepped fully in front of her and placed your hands gently on her cheeks, encouraging her to look up at you. When she did, you spoke.
“Hey. You did everything I needed and wanted you to do. If you think I want to be with someone who’s going to get all aggro and start a fight, you’re way off base.” You couldn’t help but chuckle. “If I wanted that I might as well be with that douchbag.” You nodded over her shoulder. “But I’m not. I fell in love with you because you’re kind and you’re loving and so many other wonderful things. And you’re strong when you need to be and you did just that. You saw I was uncomfortable and you not only got me out of there - no brawls or escalation - but you did that all while standing up for me, too. That’s exactly what I needed from you. I love you, Jessie. I wouldn’t change anything about you.”
Her frown faded and her expression softened, her shoulders visibly relaxing as well.
“You’re my sexy, sweet, smart girlfriend who also protects me and keeps me safe in all the ways I need,” you told her lovingly.
“Thank you,” she relented.
“Thank you,” you returned as you leaned in to give her a soft peck on the lips. She smiled into the kiss. When you pulled back she had a sweet, crooked smile on her face.
“I know you didn’t want him to get you a drink, but can I get you one?” She offered, tilting her chin up just so in the most adorable way. You kissed her again.
“Anytime.”
That evening when you two arrived back at your apartment, Jessie took your jacket and hung it up for you before coming back to you and wrapping her arms around you.
“Are you sure you’re okay? I’m really sorry you had to deal with that tonight,” she said as she searched your eyes for any indication that you were belatedly rattled or upset.
“Baby,” you kissed her, “you took great care of me. It’s okay. And I always know you’re there for me. You always make me feel safe.”
She inhaled, seeming to contemplate your answer, but nodded her acceptance.
“Okay. I love you,” she said with a kiss before resting her forehead against yours. “I’d never forgive myself if something happened to you.”
“I’m not worried, my love,” you told her as you cupped her face and kissed her again. You leaned in again to kiss her a bit deeper. “I’m so lucky to be loved by you.” You felt her smile into the kiss as she returned it.
“Mm,” she disagreed. “I’m the lucky one.”
You pulled back, your hands now resting on her chest as you gave her a warm, but chiding look. Instead of refuting, you leaned your head down and began to softly kiss her neck. You bit back a smile as you felt her shiver.
“Did I tell you how good you look in this shirt?” Your words punctuated by kisses, idly noting how her fingers tightened on you and relaxed in time.
Jessie let out a shaky laugh. “You may have.” She subconsciously tilted her head a touch to open herself up and give you more room. You nipped at the sensitive skin there before soothing it with a lingering kiss.
“Well, what can I say? You just look that good.” You pulled back to examine her, pleased with the now hazy look in her eyes. “I can hardly believe you’re all mine.”
You closed the space between you, capturing her lips once more, harder this time as you began pushing her back towards the couch in your living room. You pushed her down onto the cushions and straddled her legs, never once breaking your kiss.
This position, coupled with her strong hands on your back and the way she leaned up to kiss you caused heat to start pooling between your legs. She hadn’t even done anything and a small moan escaped your mouth into hers. Sometimes just the mere thought of her did that to you.
You reached down and started to unbutton her shirt. She allowed you to do so as she reached up the back of your shirt to unclasp your bra with a single hand with ease. You smirked as you leaned back, supported by her as you took off your shirt and bra.
“You’re such a stud sometimes,” you teased at the proud grin on her face and the brightness in her eyes. She didn’t respond and instead leaned in and began kissing your neck as her hands roamed your back and chest. You instinctively began slowly riding against her lap at her ministrations and your hands went through her hair.
“You are so gorgeous,” she said as she continued to adore you.
She reached down and started to undo your pants, but your reached down gently to stop her. You smiled at her, already knowing the concerned look she’d be giving you before you even opened your eyes.
You cupped her face again and leaned down to kiss her deeply. You then broke away and began to get off of her all the while kissing down her neck and body.
“This is about you tonight,” you told her tenderly.
“Babe…,” she trailed off, somewhere between a question and statement.
Jessie was a giver. She went down on you, fucked you, whatever you needed. She loved pleasing you and she swore repeatedly that her getting to take you to those heights was satisfaction enough for her and she didn’t need more. But, you also knew that she still enjoyed being on the receiving end as well. Admittedly, it happened less, and Jessie never seemed dissatisfied or complained, but truly how could you not want to please her too?
“It’s your turn to lay back and relax,” you assured her as you trailed your tongue down the subtle definition of her abs. She twitched under your touch. “Let me take care of you the way you always take such good care of me.”
You dragged your nails lightly down her sides as you began to kneel in front of her.
“You’re the only one in this world for me,” you told her with quiet resolution as you undid her pants. She watched you, gaze steady, as she lifted her hips and you began to push the clothing down her muscular legs. You bit your lip as you removed the last of her clothes and took in the sight of her, settling yourself between her legs.
A pent up sigh escaped her as you began kissing up her firm thighs. You noted how her hands began to clutch and release the cushions as you took your time making your way up her legs.
“You were so sexy tonight. The way you stood up for me. I wanted to get down on my knees for you right then and there.”
Jessie let out a soft groan and you saw her bite down on her lip as she continued to watch you. Her breathing grew deeper in anticipation, her shoulders now visibly rising and falling.
You reached under her legs, giving them a single appreciative squeeze before you interlaced your fingers with hers. She immediately began to caress the back of your hand with her thumb. You looked up at her one more time.
“Why would I ever want anyone else?”
You moved in, your eyes fluttering shut as her taste was immediately on your tongue. You moaned at how wet she already was and began slowly lapping up the juices that dripped from her. You didn’t want to rush.
Right here, on your knees in front of this gorgeous, incredible woman, some primal part of your brain always took over. You wanted to make her feel so good. She deserved it. And it was a privilege for you to be here, face between her legs and able to do just that - let her know how much you wanted her, desired her, and to make her come undone. She really was the only one for you.
“Fuck,” Jessie cursed in a shuddering breath and you glanced up to see her toss her head back against the couch. Her hips lifted up as you licked up and down her folds, the unintentional strength behind her movement nearly disengaging you, but you leaned in, making sure to stay with her and now latching onto her clit.
Another soft groan worked its way up her throat and she gripped your hands so tightly it nearly hurt, but it did nothing but spur you on.
You took your time. Your head spun with arousal as Jessie just grew wetter and wetter; more for you to enjoy. You continued to eat her out, exploring her, appreciating her, and loving every moment of it. You moaned in appreciation as she writhed on the couch under your touch and mewled softly as you pleasured her. Seeing her like this was going to push you to the edge in no time.
“I love you so much,” Jessie panted, nails digging into the back of your hands.
You moaned in returned and unlaced your fingers from one of her hands. You turned your attention fully to her throbbing clit, closing your lips around it, flicking and sucking it to draw out more from her. You then traced your fingers around her sopping entrance and when ready you slid a finger inside, curling it upwards. A cry escaped her and her hips lifted off the couch to chase your touch. You smiled into her and added another finger before encouraging her to settle back down on the couch.
Soon, her cries and moans were filling the room as you pumped into her. You groaned as her hand came to rest on the back of your head. Her touch was light and tentative and you broke away momentarily to speak.
“Go ahead, baby,” you urged. “I’m all yours.”
She grunted, eyes still closed as her head rolled against the top of the couch. With your approval, her fingers dug into your hair and she began to rock her hips up into your mouth and fingers.
“You’re so fucking sexy,” you had to say before quickly returning to the task at hand. You knew you were dripping wet. With Jessie’s arousal all over you, your fingers, the way she was grinding herself into your face, the sounds she was making - how could you not be?
Jessie’s grunts filled your ears and you felt her thighs flexing around you, her fingers gripping your hair tighter. You knew what was next.
“Y/N. I’m gonna cum,” she panted. “Please don’t stop.”
There was no way you’d stop now. You kept your ministrations steady despite how her hips began to buck against you and grow erratic. It wasn’t long before a loud moan fell from her lips and her movements stilled, her entire body tensing up for a few prolonged seconds before all of the tension just melted from her body and she fell back into the couch with now slow and lingering movements as you helped her come down off her orgasm.
She released your hair and you looked up to see her place her hands upon her face. You could see the deep red of her cheeks and the sheen of sweat on her brow through her fingers.
“Oh my god,” she said, her voice muffled. You quickly wiped your face, but waited until she came to and looked down at you before slowly licking her arousal off of your fingers. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she bit her lip hard.
“Fucking hell,” she said, a smile tugging at her lips.
You kissed her thighs before you lifted yourself up and cuddled in next to her on the couch. She was so spent she could hardly put her arm around you. You kissed her cheek.
“You’re the best,” you told her. You chuckled lightly at the slow side eye she gave you.
“Yeah. I’m the best,” she said dryly as she let her head fall back against the couch again. You kissed her once more and she let out a tired sigh before shifting to rest her head against yours. “I didn’t hurt you, did I?”
You snickered a bit and leaned forward to catch her eye and kiss her on the lips. She often worried that she was being too rough with you. “Of course not. It was fucking hot.” You ran a hand along her leg. “You know I think it’s so sexy when you get like that and when you lose control.”
She blushed. “Okay.” She cleared her throat, a cocky smirk on her face now. “Well, if this is the reward I get for chasing away losers at a bar…count me in.”
You kissed her slowly, your hand still tracing along her leg. “Well, the night’s not over yet.”

My Friend's Toyota II
Read Part I here: My Friend's Toyota
~7.9k words
Warnings: a bit more angsty this time around.
She nodded feeling a little worried about the conversation she was waffling on thinking about it more. The kind of girls that flirted with Harry didn’t look like her. They were loud and boisterous. Fun and exciting. They probably didn’t get enjoyment out of perfectly stacking the dishwasher or the smell of laundry on Sundays while watching TV.
Tumblr media
Told me that she’s never been in love before / Darling, I can treat you right, take you to the shore / Every time you cross my mind, I just want you more / Sitting in the grass looking at the tower / Thinking ‘bout her eyes every single hour / She’s my wildflower
She brought water and pain pills into Allie’s room and plopped on the bed beside her. “Good morning, sunshine!” She chirped.
“I hate you,” she hissed from beneath the blanket.
Giggling, she laid beside her hungover form and smiled at the ceiling. It felt like her organs were made of liquid. They were all warm. Like her heart had sent too much blood to each of them. Her face felt warm. He wasn’t even around and just the mere thought of Harry had her feeling downright giggly. It had never felt like this before about a guy. Not when she pined over the guy in her high school biology class. In her sixteen-year-old rom-com ridden mind, that guy was the love of her life. They were going to live happily ever after. One day he was going to notice her, not just as his lab partner but as someone he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. It was foolish to think. Not the guy she dated briefly when she was seventeen. But she tried not to think about him too much.
Sixteen and seventeen was so young. Twenty-one was still young but she felt more confident about Harry making the giddy feeling flood over her as she laid beside a headache-ridden Allie.
“Did you sleep in Niall’s bed?” Allie asked.
Her cheeks flushed hotly. She shook her head, glad that Allie was hiding beneath the covers. “No, of course not.”
“I don’t think anyone would blame you. That wouldn’t even be the worst place Harry’s taken a girl to bed,” Allie murmured. Allie’s hungover, she reminded herself. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Speaking before she had time to process what she was saying. Worrying about something she had no control over.
She didn’t want to think too much about the rumors that swirled around Harry. After last night, if anyone saw her go into a bedroom with Harry, she was certain the rumors wouldn’t just be about him anymore. “I think I have to ask him about the rumors,” she whispered.
“Yeah? That’s good, honestly. It’ll probably make you feel better. You’re already on his side,” Allie was gentle. Even though her head was screaming, and she probably still didn’t trust Harry the way she did implicitly. But his previous relationships, they were none of her business. As long as he was kind to her, she had no reason to believe he would break her heart.
“What’s on the docket for today?” Allie asked sitting up and taking the medicine and water from her.
“Nothing,” she shrugged. “I was going to work on my online class, do some chores.”
“Well, I need hangover food, so put it off. We’re going to breakfast,” she said getting out of bed and pulling her hair into a twist and out of her face. She giggled in response.
“You don’t have to tell me twice.”
*
She was right about the rumors. As Allie devoured her bacon-y potato cure, she could hear the next booth over talking in low whispers about how Harry brought another girl into Niall’s bedroom. “They were in there for two hours.”
“Lucky girl.”
“Lucky Harry,” a guy muttered to them. “Did you see her? She’s hot.” She was glad the booth wall that separated them was high enough to keep her hidden. Allie seemed to be too focused on her breakfast to notice the others chatting about her one table over.
“That’s a new record for him. He hooked up with like five girls over the summer.”
That was the kind of rumor that made her stomach churn. “She’s nerdy and so not Harry’s type. I have a class with her, and she sits in the front. I give it two weeks now.”
“So why does he keep hanging out with her?”
She pushed her plate of French toast aside and tried to tune them out. She looked at Allie, head resting on the table beside her plate of food. “It’s so good,” she moaned.
Laughing, she shook her head. “No one forced you to drink that much,” she reminded her.
Allie smiled. “No one needs to.”
*
She knew she was being quiet. “Y’okay, love?” Harry asked as they walked to math class. She nodded, still silent. Harry didn’t press her, which she was grateful for; it seemed hard to believe he was planning this long extravagant plan to impress her long enough to sleep with her or something. The rumors continued to swarm from the weekend. She wondered if Harry heard them or if people were smart enough to not to talk about him in front of him.
But all the rumors were about how she wasn’t good enough. How Harry was wasting his time. It felt true. She probably wasn’t like the other girls Harry dated. The October breeze chilled her cheeks and she nuzzled into the collar of her jacket briefly to avoid the breeze. “Do you have plans tonight?” Harry asked.
Nothing besides studying and homework. But she didn’t want to sound unbelievably lame. “No,” she cleared her throat.
“Would y’want t’hang out?” He asked.
“Hang out?” She repeated.
He smiled. “Yeah... we can order pizza and study. Or watch a movie. Jus’ hang out,” he repeated. Her heart fluttered at how sweet it sounded. How innocent. She really needed to tell him about her worries.
Be careful with your heart. Allie’s voice was loud in her head. She loved her best friend, but kind of wanted to shove her for getting into her head like that. She was blissfully unaware of Harry’s reputation until Allie brought it up. Now it was tainting her walk. Ruining the nice late-night chat she had with him in Niall’s bedroom. If she ever ran into Niall, she would have to remember to thank him.
“Mitch works on Tuesdays and then stays at his girlfriend’s place so...I know y’don’t have class tomorrow. Y’could stay if y’want t’stay the night.”
Her heart felt uneasy, and she didn’t know how to answer without sounding like an idiot. “Um...”
“You don’t have to,” he said quickly. “Jus’ thought I’d offer. I’ll take y’home any time y’want,” he promised.
Biting her lip, they entered the Sawyer building, and she paused right by the door ignoring the passing groups of students hurrying to and from their next class.
They stood near the ancient radiator for a building that was built in the late 1800s. It was painted over in white, about two inches thick of the chipping color. She wondered how it hadn’t melted off when the air was so chilly. While she warmed herself, Harry said hello to a friend of his and she got the gist that he was asking about the soccer game later in the week.
For whatever reason, in her mind, now was the perfect time to ogle Harry. His black jeans (they were her favorite of his) hugged the muscles of his legs like they were nearly painted on. She never cared about a guy’s legs before until she met Harry. His hair was coiffed to perfection in those lovely chocolate curls that made her want to run her hand through them herself. His jacket was lighter than hers; of course it was. It was probably a normal temperature to him and not frigid the way she thought it was. He looked so cozy she wanted to hug him. Other than gentle touches to the arm or hand, they hadn’t touched one another all that much. The ache she felt in her muscles to reach out and hug him was so strong she had to silently berate herself that she would look like a lunatic hugging in the middle of the building between college classes.
Eventually, she pulled herself from her thoughts. She found Harry smiling at her so sweetly while she thought about everything rapid fire while waiting for an answer. His friend was gone and she wondered how long she had been caught staring and nearly drooling over him while she warmed by the antiquated heating system.
“I would love to hang out, I’m not sure about staying over,” she admitted. “I have work in the morning.”
“S’fine,” he answered eagerly. “I’ll take any time I can have with you, love,” he looked at his feet and then up again, shyly through his eyelashes. Standing by the radiator was suddenly too hot. All he had to do was look at her. She would never need a heating system again.

“Do I look okay?” She asked Allie. She wasn’t trying to overdo it. She wanted to be prepared without looking insane. If she stayed over, she would have the T-shirt she needed for working at the local Starbucks. She could wear the jeans she had on currently, and no one would be the wiser. Her little bag of toiletries was shoved into the middle pocket of her backpack. The last step was to have Allie double check her outfit, hair, and makeup. That she wasn’t overdoing it for a Tuesday evening.
Allie paused from her painting wiping the back of her hand across her forehead to get the hair out of her vision. In doing so, she swiped teal paint across her skin. But it only made her look like the project herself. Her major was art, of course—she wanted to teach because it was one of the most passionate classes she took growing up.
Her teachers inspired her, and she wanted to do the same. Honestly, she already looked the part. Her outfits always consisted of bohemian skirts and the like. Her hair was a little frazzled but in an organized messy way. Allie added décor around the apartment that sparked a little flare to the selection of items she had purchased when they moved in. Her eye for color was impeccable and while she would probably have the same six prints hung on the wall, Allie was able to add something that didn’t quite fit their modern-twenty-something-year-old theme but nonetheless went perfectly. She was like a ballerina, utterly graceful. Like she floated from room to room and exuded beauty like it was her job.
Now, Allie looked her up and down. A black, long-sleeved T-shirt with the college name along the sleeve that she would wear to bed if she had to. She crammed a pair of leggings and socks alongside her bag of toiletries just in case as well. She wore a pair of Converse just in case she stayed the night and had to go to work right from Harry’s. “You look really pretty,” Allie promised with a smile. “Effortless beauty.”
She sighed with relief. “You’re sure. My hair isn’t too much?” She straightened it after a late afternoon shower. It would be easier to deal with if she did end up staying the night and didn’t shower.
“It’s very practical of you,” she assured her. “You’re not trying too hard, sweetie. I swear.”
“Okay,” she sighed again. “Is it weird I’m nervous?” She asked.
“Not at all. You really like him,” Allie reminded her. As if she could forget. “It’ll be fine though. You have nothing to worry about.”
Even though Allie was definitely her best friend, they hadn’t known each other long; there was still a long list of things she hadn’t told her yet. “I’ve...never spent the night with a guy,” she admitted.
Allie blinked. “Oh,” tilting her head curiously at her lovely friend. It seemed a little...not weird, but genuinely surprising. The girl was sweet as could be. They hadn’t delved too deeply into romantic histories, but it sounded like she had gone on enough dates back South to have stayed at a guy’s place before. “Well...it’s okay,” her tone was comforting.
Her face turned pink, and she looked at Allie as if she had all the answers. “What if I do it wrong?”
Allie smirked sadly. “Sweetie, you can’t do it wrong. Not if Harry likes you as much as he says he does. The way I saw how much he liked you. You were right,” she nodded her head firmly. “It’s different with you, trust me,” she wrapped her arm around her shoulders and gave her a squeeze. She smiled brightly as she ushered her out the door before she could talk herself out of doing something she knew she wanted to do. “And if he does try something shady, you just text me and I will come cut his dick off.”
*
Harry said five and she knew it was a fifteen-minute walk to his dorm from her apartment. It seemed like everything was a fifteen-minute walk. She passed dozens of people hurrying to their late-night classes or to the nearest dining hall (it was breakfast for dinner night which was always a school favorite). The air was so brisk for her southern skin. She wished she wore a scarf. But she wasn’t too far away, and she was sure she could convince Harry to turn up the heat for a bit if needed.
The sun was lower in the sky. The blue wasn’t quite visible anymore. The clouds turned the light around the sun varying degrees of white, pink, purple, and orange. It was stunning and she took a picture on her phone for Allie in case she needed something to paint. She had already painted another photo she had taken earlier in the summer when they first met and told her anytime that she took a nice picture she would gladly paint it.
Harry told her to text her when she arrived, and he would run down to let her in. But due to students not caring about the safety protocols of the building, she made her way in easily when someone held the door behind them while exiting. Once inside she was grateful for the warmth and took a few moments to enjoy the heat and calm the nerves bubbling in her veins. Once she gained feeling back in her fingertips, she called Harry. “Hey love, are y’here? I’ll head down,” he said and she could hear the shuffle of items.
“M'actually in the lobby. If you want to tell me which floor, you’re on, I can make my way myself.”
“Oh, love. M’sorry. I hope y’didn’t wait long,” she could hear the frown in his voice. “Fourth floor. M’standing outside the elevator waiting.” she headed up to the fourth floor of the building via the elevator. She pressed the button and waited for it to descend.
“Not at all. Got right in behind someone exiting,” she promised.
“Oh good. Okay, see you in a minute.”
Taking a deep breath, she was grateful she was alone on the elevator. It was just hanging out. It wasn’t a date. There was no reason to be nervous. Harry was extremely nice to her. When the elevator door opened, her heart stopped seeing him waiting for her. “Wow, y’look beautiful,” he said in greeting looking her up and down but in a way that didn’t feel excessive. Her cheeks felt red at his assessment.
“Thank you,” she smiled. “Thanks for having me.”
“M’pleasure, love,” he tilted his head for her to follow him down the hall to his room. She could hear music coming from the other rooms and even below her. “S’not as loud inside,” he promised.
She smiled. “It’s fine.”
He tapped the number on the keypad and opened the door for her to enter before him. “S’a pretty standard suite,” he shrugged. “Mitch’s room is over there,” he pointed to the door on the right side of the room. “Help yourself to anything in the fridge or cabinets.”
“You have a balcony?” She asked, dropping her bag on the sofa in the sitting area and rushing to the slider to look at it. He smiled at her excitement. She could feel it on her back as she looked through the glass. Harry didn’t go out there much because it was pretty closed off. Each balcony was enclosed with concrete walls on each side and a sloping wooden awning over top that extended past the rail. It almost looked like a prison cell with bars extending from awning to railing from end to end. Worry that drunk college students would fall being the reason. “Can I go out there?” She asked.
He chuckled. “Course,” he reached in front of her, unlocking the handle and pulling it open.
She stepped on the little area and peered between the bars to look at the cotton candy sky. “You get to see the sunset like this every day?” She asked.
He smirked. “Yeah,” he shrugged. “When m’home, I suppose. M’usually working or out and about around sunset.”
“I would live out here,” she told him.
“S’a little cold for you, I think.”
She wrinkled her nose at him so cutely in mock distaste, the expression on Harry’s face changed minutely and he smiled a little more. “That’s what blankets are for. It’s so nice,” but an involuntary shiver ran down her body completely shaking her theory.
Harry tilted his head back toward the inside. “Let’s get y’back inside before y’freeze t’death.”
“If I was going to freeze to death, it would have been on the way here,” she told him. “I should have gloves,” she rubbed her hands together quickly in response. He was right, unfortunately. The chill on the balcony ruined the warmth she got back when she entered the lobby of his building.
“Let me get y’some tea. The pizza should be here soon, too,” he promised. “I thought y’might want t’study a bit before we watch a movie,” he admitted. “If y’don’t, we can start right on the movie.”
She shook her head. “No,” she was quite relieved. There were a few homework problems she needed to finish and dreaded the idea of staying up late tomorrow night after a long day at work but of course would gladly suffer such a thing if it meant an evening with Harry. “That would be great actually.”
“Great,” he smiled. “Make yourself at home. I’ll get the tea,” he turned to the little kitchen area.
*
After homework, pizza, and a movie, it was nearing ten. They sifted through their regular course of conversation throughout homework and pizza time but remained pretty silent during the movie. The tension she felt between them was thick. She wanted to snuggle up to him but instead wrapped herself snug under the blanket he gave her. The idea of walking back in the cold fifteen minutes away seemed like a terrible idea. Even if Harry went with her.
Her thoughts rolled over about a hundred times weighing her options. She wondered if she should excuse herself to the bathroom to get a pep talk from Allie but stopped herself when Harry’s laugh quietly jolted her from her thoughts. Harry had one socked foot on the coffee table, the other on the floor, one arm draped along the back of the sofa behind her, but not in a romantic sort of way. His other hand propped his head up. His foot on the table bounced back and forth lightly in an easy rhythm. He looked so at ease. Not worried about embarrassing himself in anyway.
Must have been nice. When the movie ended about twenty minutes later, she glanced at her watch as discreetly as she could. “D’you want me to walk you back?” he asked.
She shook her head. “Um... it’s pretty late... and cold. I wouldn’t want to put you out—”
“S’no trouble at all,” he promised.
Her face warmed feeling like now he wanted her to leave. “Well, if you’re sure you don’t mind. I hate to think you’d have to walk back in the cold. I did bring a change of clothes but if you need me to—”
“Oh, oh,” Harry shook his head. Dropping his foot from the coffee table to the floor and turning to her completely. His eyes looked a little wild and she was surprised he looked so at ease moments ago. “Of course. I want you t’stay, love,” he promised. “You must pack light,” he shook his head. “M’so sorry it sounded like I wanted you t’leave. I do not want that. I jus’ assumed y’didn’t bring anything t’make y’comfortable staying over,” his cheeks turned the lightest shade of pink. She could see it in the low light of the lamp he and Mitch brought instead of the fluorescent overhead light. She sighed a bit with relief. “I don’t want you t’leave at all,” he promised.
The air in her lungs felt lighter then. “Oh. Okay.”
“Really,” he inched just a hair closer to her. If she wasn’t so focused on him, she might not have noticed the minute shift in his body language moving toward her. “M’really happy you’re here,” he whispered, and she knew the moment he looked in her eyes he was going to kiss her.
He was moving closer, she wasn’t helping. Her heart was beating so hard, she was surprised he couldn’t hear it. Surprised it wasn’t louder than the thrum of the music playing from the suite below him. He kept looking at her lips. The way they parted slightly. She breathed through her nose as she waited for him to get closer.
“I’ve never slept in a guy’s bed,” she blurted. Blinking, Harry stopped his motion half an inch from her lips. She could feel his warm breath across her face. He pulled back, creating a bit of space between them. He waited patiently for follow up. Gazing at her a little bit nervously. She closed her eyes and bit her lip. She turned her face away from him. “I’m sorry. That totally ruined the moment.”
“No,” he put a hand carefully on her blanket covered knee. “Not at all, love. M’jus’ trying t’give y’some time,” he promised. “M’jus’ waiting.”
She scrunched her eyes shut tighter seeing her blood rush in imaginary shapes behind her closed lids. She still faced away from him. She wanted to blurt it out. But was so scared he would reject her. Then she would have to walk home alone in the cold and dark. “I’m sorry.”
“For what, love?” She imagined the cute little pinch of skin between his eyebrows. Like he got when he concentrated while studying.
She took a deep breath and released an exasperated sigh. Her face felt hot still and maybe a walk in the cold would help her forget this. When she started to speak, her voice shook ever so slightly, and she prayed Harry didn’t notice. “For ruining—”
He did, and it broke his heart before she could finish the sentence. “Love, will you please look at me?” He interrupted. Harry didn’t rush her. It was so slow. A whole hour could have passed in that minute it took her to turn back to him, her hair falling in front of her face still hiding her expression from him. “You didn’t ruin anything,” he promised. “M’honestly... glad y’told me; means you’re comfortable.”
She didn’t have the heart to tell him this was the least comfortable she had ever felt in his presence, but she knew what he meant. “I really want to kiss you,” she whispered.
He smiled sadly. That must be a good sign for him, she thought. Despite the pause. But Harry must have also sensed there was more. “...but?”
She was quiet, bit her lip, and covered her eyes with her hand. “I’ve never been in love before,” she told him, the shake of her voice unmistakable. That must have really surprised him because he was silent. She didn’t dare look. There was still more. “And I’ve never—”
“Love, stop,” he said quickly. She was wrong. He wanted her to leave. This was so embarrassing. There were tears stinging the back of her eyes, but she still didn’t look—couldn’t look. Gently, he pulled her hand from her face holding it in his lap. He cupped his face with his freehand. “I jus’ want t’kiss you,” he whispered rubbing his thumb so softly against her cheek. It felt like the equivalent of his whispered voice. “Nothing more,” he promised. “Can jus’ be one kiss, even,” he suggested. “Nothing else,” he repeated.
She looked at those brilliant green eyes for so long she swore another hour passed in that minute. The shake of her voice disappeared. The stinging behind her eyes stopped. Her heart felt achy, and she leaned the final empty inches between them and granted his wish.
*
It was not one kiss. One kiss turned into another and then another and then she wasn’t sure she could keep count even if she wanted to. Harry’s hand cupped the side of her face the entire time. His fingers sliding between her hair right behind her ear and tugging her close. It had to have been hours by the time Harry pulled away, resting his forehead against hers. His breathing heavy across her cheeks as he pressed a kiss on her cheek, then pulled away to kiss her forehead. He tucked her head beneath his chin and pulled her toward him. It was quiet, aside from the music below them and their slightly ragged breathing. “Thank you,” he whispered.
She giggled slightly shaking her head against his chest. She was clinging to his short shirt sleeves with both hands, like he was a life raft. Granted, he did make her feel like she was drowning with kisses only moments before. They were quiet for a while, just basking in the warmth of each other. Every so often, Harry kissed the top of her head. His hand moved up and down her spine soothingly.
“Are you tired?” He asked. She shook her head. “Are you alright, kitten?” He asked nervously.
She nodded. “I’m good,” she sighed. “Promise.”
He sighed with relief. “Good,” he murmured in her hair. “’Ve wanted t’do that since I met you,” he admitted.
She smiled against his throat. “Yeah?”
“Very much so,” he mumbled.
“Can I ask you something?” She asked pulling back from him. It seemed colder than the air outside being so far away from him. It was almost harmful to her health.
He nodded. “’Course.”
“Have you heard the rumors about me?” She wondered.
He blinked. “No,” he frowned. “M’sorry. What rumor—”
She blushed. “Um... just that I’m not your type. I’m nerdy. Not...gonna be around long,” she turned away briefly. “I don’t expect you to propose or anything just for kissing me, Harry. I’m not insane. But I’m looking for a relationship,” she sounded way stronger than she felt. Looked him square in the eye as she said the next part. “But I don’t want to date lots of guys for weeks and not have it go anywhere or do anything. I want to have someone to depend on when I feel stressed, someone to sit with me while I do homework, go out to eat with or watch movies and—”
He smiled and chuckled softly as she spoke. Her heart felt so fragile and exposed and his laughter momentarily made her feel ridiculous. But after just a few seconds of his low chuckle, eventually, he sighed with relief. “Kitten, I’ve been waiting a very long time for you,” he whispered, cupping her perfect, gorgeous face, and kissed her again.
*
“Is it everything you expected?” He whispered. She snorted in the dark and Harry chuckled. Her body was warm and pressed close to his, spooned against his chest. She smelled like the raspberry chapstick she put on right before they climbed into his bed. He squeezed her, kissed her temple. His heart nearly broke listening to her worry about sleeping in the same bed as him. He knew there was more. More she was embarrassed about she couldn’t get it out in one full sentence. None of that mattered to him. Not even a little. “Can we talk?” He asked. She nodded silently against him. “You’ve never been in love?” He wondered.
She shook her head. “I think I’ve made it... too big of a thing in my head,” she admitted. “Too many rom-coms, fairy tales, and books I read as a teenager,” she explained. “It’s silly,” she whispered.
“I don’t think it’s silly,” he kissed the back of her head. “S’really nice.”
“My parents met on this campus,” she explained. “They love each other like...” she shook her head, his lips basically rubbing against her forehead with her motion. “I’m a lucky girl to witness that kind of love. To have grown up around that love while I lived at home.”
“S’that why y’transferred here?”
She shrugged. “It worked for them.”
“Love, m’not trying t’pry or say s’weird. Or make y’uncomfortable in anyway. But... m’shocked y’haven’t been in love. You’re stunning,” he punctuated the thought with another kiss to the back of her head. “Sweet, intelligent, jus’ so lovely. S’a miracle for me y’don’t have a line of admirers.”
She turned around in his arms to face him. She was eye level with him. Their heads sharing a pillow on the extremely small twin mattress. Her nose bumped his and he smelled her raspberry chapstick even stronger. “When I was in high school,” she whispered. “I thought I was in love. I thought we were in love. He carried my backpack with my insanely heavy AP History textbook, he brought me coffee to school, and drove me home from soccer practice,” her voice was even. Not a hint of sadness yet Harry felt this rush of sadness all through him.
“Y’don’t have t’tell me, kitten.”
She glanced up at him, even though it was dark, the light thrown from the moon, made it bright enough that he could make out the whites of her eyes. “I want to,” she admitted. Her regular confidence seemed to be shaken during their almost kiss. The thought of making her uncomfortable, especially after feeling like she ruined their first kiss was his worst nightmare. But conviction seemed to resurface as she began her story. Harry wasn’t sure he’d be able to stand where he thought it was going, but if she wanted to share, he would listen to every word.
He nodded. “M’listening,” he promised.
“We were having our first study date at his place,” she continued. “It was for our English literature class. We had to create a PowerPoint about a book we read. Highlighting all the symbolism and allegory. The history and whatnot,” it wasn’t relevant as to what they were studying. It wasn’t the point. She was stalling. Harry knew it. But he let her continue. “He invited me over because his parents weren’t home. His siblings were out. It was just us.” Harry was terrified he knew where it was going and even though she was perfectly whole in front of him, he felt so much anger coursing through him he worried he might hold her too tight. He held his breath waiting for the shoe to drop. “I thought he would just want to make out or something,” she whispered. “I’m pretty certain I was in love with a guy in my biology class the year before, so I knew I didn’t love him so maybe it’s my own fault for going to his house. Knowing what a guy like him—”
“It’s not your fault,” Harry interrupted. His voice was flat. He didn’t want her to continue. But he had to know. Needed to know. Because very honestly, Harry was going to kill him for hurting her.
She swallowed loud enough for Harry to hear, and she took a deep breath. “I told him I didn’t want to have sex,” she whispered very softly. “He said I was a waste of his time. All this time he could have been with,” she shook her head. “Three, four other girls. Not wasting months on someone that didn’t want to sleep with him,” she pressed her forehead against the top of his chest. “I felt so stupid,” her voice was so thin it was hard for Harry to hear her. He cupped the back of her neck and kissed her forehead. He hoped it was encouraging. So she would keep talking if she wanted. “I thought he liked me. I thought that maybe I wouldn’t get that earth stopping love my parents had, but maybe I would find a guy and we would grow to love each other like that. I know in hindsight that’s stupid to think at seventeen, but it was the only thing that made sense at the time.” Harry remained silent. “I walked home,” she whispered. “My mom just knew. She asked me a thousand questions if he hurt me. I told her he didn’t, but I think part of her still believes that I lied to her—”
“Y’did, kitten. He did hurt you.”
“He didn’t—”
“Love he broke your heart and your trust. He hurt you,” he said simply. “He’s an ass. An idiot. He should be in jail just for breaking your heart,” he promised. It felt so unbelievable that she had never been in love. He wanted to know more about the guy from her biology class, but he couldn't believe that someone so perfect to him hadn't been in love. “S’no wonder y’mum kept asking. Y’mum knows he hurt you. Y’jus’ pretended he didn’t so y’could protect your heart, love,” he explained. She was silent for a minute. Harry could feel her foot impatiently shifting between the covers, near the bottom of his legs and he continued waiting while she processed this information. “Have y’ever told anyone ‘bout this?” He asked quietly.
She shook her head. “It wasn’t...a huge deal,” she shrugged.
He was silent for another long moment, trying to control his anger. If he had his address, Harry was certain he would do something drastic “M’sorry y’feel like y’have t’minimize your feelings. You shouldn’t do that. Please don’t do that around me,” he murmured.
“Harry,” she sighed and pressed her forehead against his. “Where did you come from?” She asked. “Guys in college don’t... You can’t possibly be real.”
He smirked sadly. “I told you, I’ve been waiting a really long time for you,” he kissed her forehead, her eyelids, the bridge of her nose, and her cheeks.
“Harry,” she said softly.
“Yes, kitten?” he was so happy to have her so close to him. None of his daydreams during their walks or math lectures compared at all.
“It’s not going to bother you if—”
“M’sorry t’interrupt, love. But, don’t bother finishing that question. M’gonna take care of your heart. That’s it,” he promised and gave her another gentle squeeze. “Go t’sleep,” he murmured.
For a while it was so quiet, it barely sounded like she was breathing. “Thank you,” her voice was so soft he hardly heard her. As he drifted off with surely the love his life in his arms, part of him thought she wasn’t speaking to him at all.
*
In the morning, her alarm went off pulling Harry from his dream state. Surely having her in his arms was still a dream, though. He yawned, stretching, and turning to her as she looked nervously. “Sorry, I didn’t know it would be that loud.”
He smiled. “S’okay. Can I make y’breakfast before you go?”
“Oh, no thank you. I’m good.”
“Jus’ lemme get dressed and I’ll drive you.”
“That’s unnecessary,” she promised.
He smiled and kissed her forehead. “S’too bad,” he shrugged, rolled out of bed and headed to the bathroom to brush his teeth. When he returned, she passed him to get dressed in the bathroom and Harry quickly stripped himself of his pants so if she was finished in the bathroom shortly, he wouldn’t embarrass her by being naked from the waist down.
She did catch him with his shirt off, making her cheeks turn the lightest shade of red. Harry smirked tugging his shirt over his head. “Sorry,” she murmured and grabbed her bag to shove her clothes inside it. “Er...I was thinking, by the time I get out, it will be colder...and I don’t have the right coat to walk home. Could you drop me off at my car?” She asked.
Harry tilted his head at her. “I’ll jus’ pick y’up, kitten,” he could see her mulling this over in her head. There was a bit of worry in her eye. Fear of putting Harry out, he was sure. “Love,” he smiled sweetly. “M’picking y’up,” he promised. “More time t’spend with you.”
“You are...” she smiled shaking her head. “Something else, Harry Styles.”

Harry felt shameful. It was a bad week and Thursday was supposed to be a good day after all since they agreed to meet up despite not having class. Well... it was bad aside from math class and studying. Two things he never thought he would say out loud or even think in the privacy of his own thoughts. It was also good because she said yes to a date—a real date.
After their night together over a week ago and a busy schedule on both parts, this was supposed to be their first official date the coming Saturday. He had it all planned out. A fancy restaurant that he made a reservation for in the city. They would take the train in to save them the nightmare of parking. He asked her on Tuesday after class and he didn’t think he would ever forget her beautiful smile when she said yes. It felt like he won the lottery.
But Harry’s car had other plans. He took it in for a routine oil change the night before. During breakfast, he got the call. He needed new tires and new brakes. He knew about the brakes, but he thought he could wait until spring to get new tires—just get through the winter. The mechanic was insistent.
He felt awful as he walked with her on Thursday to study in the library. She was bubbly with excitement for the last week. About him. It was too good to be true. Of course, something had to go wrong. He felt terrible that he was going to have to cancel. “Hey, love?” He asked.
She was rambling about something. Harry wished he had tuned in more to know what and felt bad seeing her excitement waver. “Yeah?”
“Uh...” he sighed and gestured to the bench along the sidewalk. “I have t’ask y’to reschedule our date,” he looked so miserable. Her heart felt so sad seeing how upset he was.
“Oh,” she frowned. The excitement in her eyes was officially dead. Harry felt horrible. “Yeah... of course! Of course, we can. Is... are you okay?”
“I jus’ feel so awful,” he mumbled. “Asking t’reschedule.”
“Oh,” she felt her face wrinkle in confusion. She placed a hand on his bouncing knee trying to help the anxiety he felt. “That’s... that’s okay. Is everything alright? Like, is your family okay or is it a doctor’s appointment?”
Harry thought he was going to cry. “Uh... s’a little embarrassing,” he admitted rubbing his hand on the back of his head. He couldn’t look at her.
“More or less than me getting lost on my first day of class as a twenty-one-year-old?”
He smirked. “S’nothing,” he promised.
“I... I hate to ask this because it makes me sound so insecure... but is it something I did? Or did someone say something about me and now you don’t like me—”
“Jesus,” he shook his head and pulled her toward him quick. He kissed the top of her head, his arm draping around her shoulders. If there was any question of them being an item, Harry certainly squashed them all in front of everyone walking by. Being broke wasn’t as awful as listening to her feelings of inadequacy. “No, no,” he sighed heavily. “God, no, kitten. S’nothing you did. You’re... you’re perfect,” he gazed down to meet her gaze. “M’so embarrassed... I had a pretty expensive car repair t’take care of... so m’over m’budget for the month. I didn’t know at the time—”
“Oh,” she blinked and shook her head. “Oh... that’s okay. We don’t have to go to that restaurant,” she shrugged. “I mean... if you don’t want to go out, of course. But... I don’t need a fancy restaurant.”
His heart jumped to his throat. “Really?” He sighed with relief. “Kitten, I don’t want t’wait any longer t’take you on a proper date... would you want to have a picnic or something? I know that’s lame. S’not a proper date because y’deserve so much more but...m’not making sense, I know—m’jus’ really overwhelmed and—”
She put a gloved hand on the side of his face and smiled. Harry thought that he would see her eyes in every one of his dreams. In his head. Every time he closed his eyes. “I would love a proper picnic date,” Harry swore her smile was made of stardust. Or maybe snowflakes. “Will it be too cold though? We could have an indoor picnic.”
“I’ll make sure you’re warm,” he promised.
*
She picked Harry up and drove them to where he said. He filled her car with a whole bunch of supplies, food, and drinks. He told her to dress warm and she looked like she was ready to hike. Boots, warm thick socks, a big sweatshirt. She looked so cozy and warm. Once they got to the little place Harry had found when he first made it to college, he requested she wait in the car while he set everything up. “Don’t look, yeah?” He smiled.
She nodded and made herself busy looking at her phone. But after the third trip to the car, Harry could tell she felt bad. “Are you sure you don’t need help?”
“Stay put,” he insisted. After a few more minutes, Harry was at her car door. He was grinning like an idiot as he opened her door. “After you, kitten.”
There was a massive blanket laid on the grass. Along the edges there were little twinkling lights that he hoped made it feel like something out of a movie. Harry’s heart was thudding in his chest. A cooler with drinks and another with food was on one corner of the blanket. Finally, a tiny, portable space heater from camping with Mitch was directed at the blanket. She giggled. “Harry,” she sighed. “This is better than a fancy restaurant," he shook his head with a smirk.
“You’re still getting a fancy dinner, but I couldn’t wait any longer.”
She bit her lip and laid across the blanket gazing up. “This place is so pretty,” she whispered. “Look how nice the sky looks.”
It was getting chillier by the minute with the sun getting lower in the sky. Harry hoped to stay an hour or two but with the slight breeze he worried she would freeze. But the way she laid across the blanket made her look like a goddess. She belonged to nature. He knelt on the blanket beside her and grabbed the food he had planned. She rolled onto her stomach and then to a half-kneeling, half-sitting position. Harry brought sandwiches delighted by her request that her favorite sandwich was peanut butter and strawberry jam. They ate quietly for a bit and Harry poured cans of the sparkling wines he had in his fridge (he thought they might be Sarah’s, but he wanted something classier than beer or seltzers for their first real date).
The sky was pink and purple again after they finished their sandwiches and two glasses of sparkling wine. Harry baked cookies before she came to get him. They nibbled on those while chatting but mostly he just enjoyed her company and how happy she was to just be there with him. It seemed like she really didn’t need a fancy restaurant—even if he thought she deserved it more than all the rest.
When they finished snacking, Harry put the coolers back in the car and laid beside her gazing up at the sky. He pulled the corner of the huge blanket up over her shoulders and kissed the top of her head. “I could lay here forever,” he murmured.
“Me too,” she nuzzled herself closer to his warm jacket. He kissed the top of her head.
“M’sorry this is the lamest first date,” he grumbled still feeling the bits of inadequacy of what he wanted to give her because she deserved the best and not a single thing less.
“No way,” she shook her head. “This is so nice, Harry. I’m warm and cozy. I’m not worried about my dress looking right or spilling something on it. I don’t have to worry about which fork to use. There’s no one around to interrupt or stare at us...” she sighed. “It’s literally the best first date,” she promised.
“Stare at us?” He repeated.
“Surely you see everyone eyeing us every time we walk to class.”
He frowned. “I didn’t know,” he mumbled.
She tilted her head to meet his gaze. She looked genuinely surprised. “Hmm,” she hummed. “I’m not used to people staring at me,” she smiled teasingly. “You probably just tune it all out.”
He chuckled, rolling his eyes at her as he flicked her gently on the side of the head. “I only care when you’re staring,” he brushed his finger across her cheek. “S’like the only thing that matters now.”
“This is crazy, isn’t it?” She whispered.
“What?”
“Falling so hard?”
“Didn’t know y’were falling so hard,” he chuckled. She smacked his chest.
“Shut up,” she tucked her face into his side. He cupped the side of her face.
“I fell so hard, love,” he promised. “Fell so. Very. Hard.”
Harry thought about getting her back soon. It was getting colder by the second. But the sky was this multitude of sunset colors that made him never want to leave. He only wanted to exist right beside her in this little meadow of peacefulness and never let go of her.

“so let’s talk about your latest single, caves, which is for the new movie end of beginning, right?”
“right,” ellie nodded at the interviewer, twisting the rings on her fingers which rested in her lap. she was usually pretty nervous doing interviews, still only feeling truly comfortable in front of a crowd when she had her guitar hanging from her shoulders.
“it’s an incredible song and goes so well in the movie, i mean…” the interviewer’s voice trailed off as they turned to the audience who were whooping and cheering at the compliments. “well they certainly agree!”
“thank you, we’ve had so much fun getting to be a part of it,” dina beamed her award-winning smile.
“so were you able to meet the stars? what did they think?”
“we did briefly which was amazing,” dina carried on, “and i think they loved it!?” she turned to jesse.
“yeah they thought it was great which for us, you know, was crazy as they’re super talented people so that recognition was uh, was amazing. ellie especially loved it,” jesse said, sneaking in a jab at his band mate and best friend.
“really ellie?” the interview seemed keen to know more.
ellie stretched her arm up, nervously scratching the back of her head and tried to fight a smile off her lips. “yeah, i mean i…oh man, thanks jesse.”
“anytime.”
“i’m a huge fan so it was a trip getting to meet them,” she finally settled on.
“meeting y/n?” the interviewer pushed.
“yeah, meeting y/n was great.”
“why do i feel like there’s more you’re not telling me?” the interviewer joked.
“well,” she awkwardly laughed, “no, i mean she’s an insanely talented actress and i’ve loved her movies for years so it’s always pretty crazy meeting someone like that.”
“that, and the posters,” dina leaned into ellie’s shoulder. ellie tried to refrain from swearing on tv.
“posters?”
“yeah,” she admitted, “i had a poster of her on my wall when i was like 16.”
“was she a bit of a celebrity crush for you?”
“something like that, yeah.” ellie’s cheeks had gone bright red and they felt hot under the bright stage lights and mini interrogation she was experiencing.
“oh it’s all coming out now,” jesse laughed and dina laughed with him. ellie chuckled, embarrassed, whilst shooting them a glare.
she ran her hands down her face. “oh, i can’t believe you just made me admit that on tv.”
“she’s probably going to see this,” the interviewer said, “and she’s on here next week.”
“oh god, don’t even mention it.”
— a week later —
“so, y/n! thanks for being on the show.”
“thank you for having me!” you shot your best smile at the interviewer and the crowd, who cheered.
“you’re new movie end of beginning is out now, is that right?”
“yes it’s out now and we had the premier last week which was an incredible night!”
“it looked amazing, as did you, so stunning!”
“thank you so much.”
the interviewer went on asking you more questions about your role in the movie before bringing up ellie’s band, the blades.
“you might have already seen but last week we had the blades on our show and they said it was amazing to work with you.”
“yes! i loved the music they made for this movie, they’re all beyond talented. it was great to meet them as well, super lovely guys,” you praised.
“were you a fan before?”
“yes i am actually, i saw them live on their tour last year so yeah, i’ve been a fan for a while.”
your cheeks felt hot all of a sudden as you had a feeling where this was going.
“well, i think they were definitely fans of yours, or at least one of them was!” the interviewer prodded, smiling. you laughed shyly, not wanting to be the one to admit to anything in front of a live audience.
“ellie said you were her celebrity crush.”
“i heard, yeah,” you smiled down into your lap, trying to compose yourself.
“i think you’d made a cute couple,” the interviewer beamed and the crowd cheered. “they think so!”
“i um,” you stammered, “yeah she’s cute.”
you thought she was more than just cute! you had been a fan of her band for a couple of years and had swooned over the way her skilled fingers plucked her guitar strings over and over again. the outfits she wore. the way she sits with her knees apart and hands clasped together in interviews. the smiles and smirks she has whilst on stage. the tiktok edits you had saved.
“well make sure to invite me to the wedding,” the interviewer laughed. you shyly nodded, trying to stifle the wide grin that wanted to take over your face. you almost hoped ellie wouldn’t see this but there was no doubt that she would… she did, and she had a shit-eating grin on her face the entire time.
