Several Sentence Sunday
thank you @capseycartwright for tagging me!!! like you, and everyone else, i have been completely captured by 7x04 brainrot and the ten million potential storylines we can take from it. so here is a lil snippet of a fic idea i made a post about earlier 🩷💜💙:
“I think Maddie might’ve tried to set me up with her friend, Josh, once,” he says before furrowing his brow. “Or- not set me up? I’m pretty sure she said he could do better than me. Which- rude.”
“Extremely rude,” Tommy agrees obediently.
“And uh, there was this moment when we were down in Texas for the wild fire a few years ago,” he continues. “This guy TK I worked with- I said we should hang out if he was ever in LA and he thought I was flirting with him.”
“Were you?”
“Maybe?” he says. “I have no idea but he certainly took it that way. He said thanks but that he had a boyfriend.”
“Okay so, a high school crush,” Tommy starts, ticking the examples off on his fingers. “A maybe set up from your sister and one guy who thought you were flirting like, three years ago. Is that it?”
Buck frowns, trying to think, because he knows there has to be more. Unbidden, a memory flashes in his head and he huffs a laugh.
“There was one time this, uh, Christmas elf? Thought Eddie and I were married. Like we took Christopher to see Santa and she told me we had a beautiful family.”
Something inscrutable passes across Tommy’s face but it’s gone in an instant. “Yeah? What’d you say?”
“I-“
“Here we are!” the perky waiter interrupts Buck’s answer, looking expectantly between the two of them. “Who ordered the steak?”

Do you have any headcanons about injured or sick or sad Tommy and Buck taking care of his man
YES YES I DO
Also hi 👋 nonnie!
ANYHOW
Tommy is injured during a call. We’ll make it decently serious, he crashed. He’s got broken ribs, a broken leg, and a serious concussion. So Buck is called because Tommy has him as his emergency contact (or maybe he attended the rescue) and fusses over him, asking the nurses and doctors questions Tommy doesn’t have the capacity to understand.
Buck takes him home, of course, and they go to Tommy’s because it’s more crutches friendly but Buck doesn’t leave. He stays with Tommy and makes sure he doesn’t want for anything. Whether it’s making sure Tommy is taking his medicines or making him food or fluffing his pillows and getting him an extra blanket. It’s massaging the cramps out of Tommy’s uninjured body parts and when he has nothing else to worry over, holding Tommy close and gently.
And Tommy has conflicting emotions because he’s not used to being pampered and a little smothered and he’s in pain and grumpy, but he also wouldn’t exchange it for the world and grumbles whenever Evan seems like he’s going to get up.
And when Buck eventually has to go back to work or even just run out for more than a couple hours, Tommy has a steady stream of visitors from the 118, plus Maddie and Athena and Karen.

oh, I DO love talking about myself, though this is gonna be kinda weird bc I haven't made a lot of art that I actually like lately lol, and I'm not committed enough to go back super far in my timeline
in no particular order:
1) The extremely self-indulgent Jack/Maddie/Vlad comic I did last year, which was my second most popular post. I had sooo much fun doing it and made myself laugh a lot, idk, it was just such a joy to make and I'm glad other people like it too (I've LOVED reading through the tags on it)
this is my favorite 'panel', I think lol
2) The big memey sketchdump from last year that was my FIRST most popular post lol, OF WHICH this is my favorite doodle.
3) This one I haven't actually posted anywhere yet bc it's still VERY early and I'm not sure I'll ever finish, but I've been fucking around with making a comic out of one of my favorite Stardew oneshots, Practical Demonstration (which is VERY ummm......... citrusy, as one might have said in 2006) and I've actually been kinda sorta enjoying that, despite Art Block From Hell and the fact that I'm Not Good at backgrounds lol
4) idk, I've had a lot of fun doing all my Potion Permit shit! The fandom is small but very funny and friendly, and idk it's just been another thing that's been fun to indulge in while Art Block From Hell continues
5) and speaking of Potion Permit, I've been writing a chemist/matheo enemies-to-lovers longfic called flew like a moth to you (sunlight) that is SO self-indulgent, but I've actually really been liking how it's turning out! It's kinda silly to say, maybe? but I've been proud of my writing with this fic. I think I have an Okay ability to string words into nice-ish-sounding sentences 🥴👌
and since I posted pics for my art, here's one of my favorite bits of the fic's first chapter (also the 'summary' lol)
"Forty years. Raised in the thick of six generations’ worth of collective knowledge, lived tradition, so intimately familiar with medicine and healing that it’s like an additional sense, something woven into the very fibers of him, his entire life’s work -- all of it cast aside in favor of an upstart, fresh-faced chemist whose sole legacy of any significance to Moonbury is one of reckless endangerment and massive ecological collapse.
He stares at Myer’s hands, clasped around his wife’s, his child’s. Doesn’t understand what sort of desperation would drive a man to this. Feels a sick twist in his gut at the inconceivability of ever doing the same."

Headcanon. In relation to Danny being trans which I fully support 🏳️⚧️
His old name was Daisy🌼
With Jazz being named after a plant, which has flowers, I can imagine Jack and Maddie originally named Danny with a similar theme. Plus it’s similar to his name, both starting with a D.
I can also imagine him having once a celestial/star themed name like Stella or Aurora, for his whole space themeing. Or could’ve been Danielle or Dana.
What do u think his old name would’ve been and why? I’d love to know💖
