Baking for Bucky
POV: While browsing a small collector’s shop, Bucky finds a vintage WWII magazine from the 40s. He flips through the pages and spots a dessert recipe, asking if you could make it for him.
A/N: Just some fluffsss. I haven't written a fluffy piece in a while so I really hope you'll like this. I love baking, do y'all? It's such a comfort activity and I think it'd be so cute to bake for Bucky.

“What are we making again?” you ask, pulling out the flour and sugar.
“Gingerbread. It’s a classic from the 40s,” Bucky says, flipping through the old-timey magazine. “Housewives used to pack it in their husband’s box lunches back in the day.”
You raise an eyebrow. “Housewife? I am a housewife now?”
He lowers the magazine, glancing at you. “You can be..."
You nearly trip trying to get the bowl. “Slow your roll, soldier...”
He chuckles as he helps you pull out the rest of the ingredients. You love him, obviously, and you could definitely see yourself marrying him. But you’re both enjoying the dating phase and there’s no need to rush things.
You add the ingredients to the bowl and stir it's contents carefully, noticing a concerned look on Bucky's face. "What's going on in that head of yours?"
Bucky smiles, enjoying the fact you know him so well. "The smell is just bringing me back... Usually sights, sounds, and smells bring me back to bad memories from my past, so it's kinda nice to have a smell trigger a good memory for once."
You smile and nod, hoping he'll say more; Bucky rarely opens up. When he does, you find it best to just keep quiet and let it flow naturally.
"I kinda miss the old days, you know?..." he continues. "Sometimes I hate that I was frozen for so long. That so many years were taken from me. Sometimes I wish I could have lived in the era I was supposed to.”
“I can understand that,” you say, nodding.
He approaches you, hugging you. “But the thing is if I hadn’t been frozen... I never would’ve met you."
He buries his head in the crook of your neck. "And that sorta makes it all worth it."
“Bucky,” you sigh. His words are sweet, but they make you upset. "I don't want you to say anything was worth what you went through..."
Bucky takes your hand, kissing your palm. “I mean it. And I meant it when I said I want you to be my wife...”
You smile. "Let's see how this gingerbread turns out first. You may change your mind..."
Bucky chuckles, rolling his eyes.

The entire house is filled with the smell of gingerbread. A warm feeling enrobes the air, reminding you of Christmastime. You both curl up on the couch, eating a few slices with milk.
"You're clearly wifey material," Bucky chimes.
You raise an eyebrow. "Where did you hear that term..."
Bucky stares at you. "Sam."
You chuckle, shaking your head.
"No, but seriously... This has got to be one of the best desserts I've ever had."
You roll your eyes. "...Don't exaggerate, Bucky."
“I'm not! It's the loveliest thing I've ever tasted because the loveliest person made it for me."
You fiddle with a few gingerbread crumbs on your plate, blushing.
Bucky smiles to himself. "I remember one of my buddies used to have these all the time in his box lunch. He’d brag all the time to us that his wife made it for him... I can’t believe I had to wait nearly 90 years for my wife to make me some...”
You clench your jaw. “But I'm not your wife, Buckyy... I love you and I can see myself spending the rest of my life with you. But I don't think I'm ready just yet."
He gives you a soft smile. “No rush, doll... I believe I waited my whole life to meet you... It'd be an honor for me to wait a little longer..."

My Favorite Manga in 2023: Part 2
Like in part 1 I will skip the titles I already covered in previous roundups.

葬送のフリーレン (Frieren: Beyond Journey's End), Kanehito Yamada & Tsukasa Abe
Yama Wayama appears to be on a continuous upwards trajectory as the manga comedienne of the reiwa era which I got to confirm for myself with the hit Onna no Sono no Hoshi. The episodic comedy about a teacher daily terrorized by his students and coworker. And with the scanlation well on its way I just want to say please experience it for yourself.
Uchi no Class no Joshi ga Yabai I had eyed ever since I started learning Japanese and the new omnibus that coincided with the ongoing sequel series gave me a great reason to finally pick it up. Box of Light by the same author was on my list last year and I not only liked the premise of it but also loved the anthology format of the story. For similar reason I really liked Uchi no Class: In the world of the series high school aged girls may experience the activation of powers.... that are completely useless and troublesome. We follow the students of year one class one, a class infamous for always having the highest concentration of useless powers. Dreams projected into the sky, X-ray vision that turn everyone around you into terrifying anatomy models is only the tip of the iceberg.
I can't resist a gimmick premise done successfully and the variation of characters and powers kept the premise fresh like older characters who haven't yet "grown out" of their powers or a trans girl storyline.
Hatsukoi, Zarari follows the young woman Arisa diagnosed with a light intellectual disability and autism. Living between jobs and having a hard time turning down men who only want to have sex she has always struggled with her own self worth. This is until she falls in love with an older coworker who is charmed by her personality and quirks. But will things change if she opens up about her diagnoses?
Zaku Zakuro has made manga and shared online about living with ADHD and asperger syndrome, giving this story a very personal and different perspective focusing especially on how stigma around developmental disabilities can be what causes the most friction and pain.
Internet Love! is a love story for the social media age with a budding romance that goes across borders. Bisexual nail artist Tenma has for years been a fan of a completely ordinary man from Korea named Uno who appears to be addicted to posting his life on instagram, daily filling up his story until the posts are lined up like dots. Thinking he held nothing but a healthy distance of "standom" for Uno, but he instead hits rock bottom when his insta favorite posts a girlfriend reveal. Tenma no longer able to bring himself to open the daily insta stories sinks into a depression, but Uno takes note that a certain someone stopped checking up on him...
I was instantly charmed by this and was especially taken by how their clumsy attempts at communication without being able to speak each others language or no lingua franca was portrayed and the personal styles and fashions of the characters I just adored the whole thing.

Attempting Insta again!
A PSA that I very, VERY reluctantly decided to try to start posting on Instagram again. Mostly, because Twitter is getting so darn unstable and a lot of people don't have Tumblr, so I want to be able to connect. Plus, I buy a lot of merch so I was thinking it would be nice to do more reviews, and most brands are on insta?
While I have an account, I haven't really touched it in six years, aka it's frozen in time back in my YOI era LMAO. It's also a mildly embarrassing archive of my college years since I mostly used it as a personal account, and I hadn't quite hit my stride as a fandom creator yet. A lot of ancient cosplay, some homework doodles, man those were days... ^ ^;
Anyway, just thought I'd make a lil announcement here in case any of you are active on there! I'd love if you could come say hi (or give me tips on how to survive on there, Insta high key terrifies me ;A; )

I saw your recent ex swiftie blog and im glad i could relate to it too. I was her fan too but this album and herself just put me out on the edge. Its hard to digest the fact that whatever part i loved about tay is only a shell of her and not her true self. A part of her mask ig… everything about her is fake and performative and nothing is genuine about it. The lover pro lgbtqia “era” activism and someone who is queer, felt so seen that person i loved advocated for us and it was great but she never spoke and uttered a voice and felt like it was simply a “phase” and never thought that real people are involved in it too? Did she think that we fight and advocate for our right is simply a trend for her to participate? Real people are standing and fighting the homophobic laws and i live in homophobic country its so hard to live in a country where they hate us and dont value as a human and i have to live as someone who isnt myself…
A simple statement would really help considering how much power and influence she holds. Her defying silence in palestine conflict too bc shes a coward to take a stand against it. Her ex bf who is much lesser in terms of popularity has more spine and courage to tapk about it.

You're so right. I think her releasing a four minute song about gay rights and yay be queer is just ☠️ people are literally still getting murdered for being queer. Trans people are losing healthcare and laws but you know yntcd.
She had a trans man in the lavender haze mv but didn't say anything about trans rights and everything currently going on in the US alone regarding trans people.
And it bothers me that she doesn't say anything about Palestine. Jenna Ortega lost her lead role in scream seven for speaking out against Israel. Same with another actress from scream.
Joe alwyn has like a million followers on insta where she has 284 MILLION. Joe can at any time lose any of his upcoming roles or opportunities but he is on the right side of history which she so desperately wants to be yet doesn't do anything to prove she's a good person.
Genuinely think the reason why a LOT of people are now put off are not only ratty twatty but you can genuinely see she does performative shit bc she most likely gets paid to do it 😒 while Joe, my unbothered king, is genuine regarding his actions and I think a lot of the hate he gets from swifties are bc he is what they think Taylor is.

I love hayley but I always think about that time she said at a concert that she’s very comfortable talking politics and I do think a large part of that is true but all of her political stances have been very US-based only with the exception of “the news” where the band referenced Ukraine. This is something that a lot of celebs do so I’m not blaming hayley alone on this but I remember when she rightfully called out trump on her insta stories multiple times for being a very loud and outspoken bigot but Biden is funding a genocide now so it’s disappointing that she’s not criticising him too. Biden might not be as loud of a racist as trump and desantis but the way he talked about the Palestinian people is dehumanising. A lot of white celebs are only brave enough to call out politicians who are very right wing but Biden is just as bad as them if you pay attention to his speeches and review his actions
I will never see celebs as a moral compass but I do think it’s very important for Americans to speak out cause knowing that Biden is using my tax dollars to fund the IDF makes me sick. I don't know how many times I sat in a history class, learning about genocides and wondered "how could anyone let this happen?" now I'm asking myself the same question while one is actively happening. The least the band could do is sign that artists4ceasefire letter and share ways to call Congress to demand a ceasefire. The band decided to release a song like “the news” and they’re gonna probably perform it hundreds of times again. They decided to be political in this era so it’s highly upsetting that they’re silent about all of this. Palestinian people are living in a nightmare situation and all they asked of us to use social media to share updates, to remember them and their culture and to amplify their voice. It’s such a simple request from people who are going through an ethnic cleansing.

Hayley was with rep Justin Jones and he posted a caption “fighting fascism with @yelyahwilliams” a few weeks ago, So where’s all of this energy when our president is giving money and weapons to Israel only

The truth of the matter is, i’ve realized that Paramore only talk about things that affect them or their friends and are morally “just” or “right”. If they are gonna be labeled antisemites they aren’t gonna say anything, (let me reiterate there is nothing antisemitic about wanting justice for palestine, for the brutal capture & tortures to stop happening, for the genocide to stop happening) because they don’t want to look bad. Ultimately they are just three white people who are rich & sheltered and won’t talk about things that will get them in hot water like this. If Hayley was really comfortable talking about politics she’d put her money where her mouth is, as would any other member of Paramore, but that isn’t happening.
I feel obligated as someone who fucking cares about people to say something, seeing all of the videos of children being pulled from rubble, Palestinians being tortured by IDF, the IDF soldiers laughing and making fun tiktok videos like they aren’t raping and murdering and torturing and committing war crimes on the daily; i cannot be okay with that. Joe Biden is nothing but a slimey little snake and like many old white men before him he will never be anything but that to me. It doesn’t matter how much he panders or whatever, the blood is on his hands and he is complicit in Genocide of the Palestinian people.
But, like many white liberals who are sitting on their comfy couches taking “mental health breaks” cuz they can’t stand to see another video on social media about the war because it “bothers them too bad” all i have to say about it is: How do you think the people who are being fucking mass murdered, living in constant fear, who run from place to place in the Gaza strip praying that they aren’t going to be bombed when they find somewhere where they think they may be safe, for even a moment, until another bomb drops? So yeah, I’m not gonna be nice about this, because personally I don’t give a fuck about acting like it’s okay for them to be silent, because it isn’t and it never will be and I will remember this for the rest of their careers.
and personally, I don’t ever want to hear another political speech from them until they say something about this, because now it just feels like a load of bullshit.
I love Paramore but we are allowed to be critical of them.

I am backk. Didn't really have time these last days but here i am.
As much as I'm interested in the main plot and Aaravos' era incoming, i first need to know what happened in the camp after architect put out the fire.
Honestly such a beautiful funeral? Simple and tranquil.
Rayla u can't come back after two years and act like nothing happened! I mean i know she says how much things changed but she really hurt him.
Our boy is cryingg. Random but we haven't really got an answer on whether she was unbanished? Also I need to see some Ethari. Like now.
I really like that even tho Soren is a comic relief most of the time, they didn't make him dumb.
I kinda don't get why Viren got so desperate to practically beg that creature? Only excuse i can find is his fascination and obsession with magic. Otherwise they just did it for comic relief I'm sure is coming. I just feel it. Building it up and then an anticlimactic 'surprise'.

I kinda hope this lil dragon adopts Soren. He deserves his own animal companion.(did u notice everyone has one? Like Rayla has that monkey-y thingy which i shamefully forgot the name of, Ezran has Zym and regretfully passed Bait to Callum which not okay you can have two animals and share love equally?)

hi guys it’s been literally forever :)
i finally changed my theme after literally two years and i… kinda wanna be active again? idk,,, we’ll see if the new album comes out next year or not. i LOVE the sai era and cannot believe it’s taken me this long to FINALLY update my blog to her cute aesthetic just to have to (possibly) redo it for the next album cycle.

Denmark, 0! (I'm so glad they added an all option!)
!!! ok here we go :D
1) what would their social media page/activity be like: i've discussed this w/ a friend but i think denmark is the most technologically capable after sweden! i think on twitter he's a little more professional (but he loves rting feel-good stuff) BUT he shines on insta. it's full of artsy pictures of the danish countryside and embarrassing videos of him and his friends on his stories :,)
2) what animal they remind me of: i don't care that it's predictable that man is a puppy!!!! manga denmark is a golden retriever but anime denmark is a yippy chihuahua with that fucking voice
3) my thoughts on their design/aesthetic alone: LOVE!! i think his canon outfit is really nice compared to.... whatever the other four are doing!! his hair is dumb but it's dumb /affectionate /i love him
4) physical headcanons: i got a few! he's an early bird!! and a light sleeper. physique-wise he's the second tallest nordic and he has BIG ass arms (an axe was his main weapon so!! makes sense to me!) he has a huge sweet tooth + he loves pastries!! but his favourite is whatever norway bakes because he's a softie :) as for actual food.... this man survives on sandwiches hot dogs and beer. get well soon x
5) social headcanons: denmark is the nordic with the most friends outside of the group!! finland comes close, because everyone loves finland and he has estonia & hungary, but i think denmark's outside friendships are more involved! a strip that really stuck with me is one during the denmark-norway period, where he goes to the netherlands and asks him to give him the buddy price on weaponry and ned agrees despite how he usually is :,) within the group, i see him as having an older-brother-but-kinda-dad relationship with iceland. sweden and him are close now and they're just the brothers who had a fallout but now r coping by insulting themselves jokingly (only when they're a few drinks in sometimes it's not a joke). he and fin only became close in later centuries but their personalities are super compatible so they're great friends!! and he and norway... oughghhg you're talking to dennor lover #1 here HAH to me they've been basically on-and-off in love for 1100 years or so :,) i'll go more into it in a future post so i'll stop here but!! yeah!!
6) psychological headcanons: i feel like i covered most of this in my denmark analysis!! but hm yeah for me his greateast fear is for sure isolating his family again. and despite how carefree he acts, i think he weighs his decisions very carefully because of what happened in the past when he didn't. i think he's actually really good with dealing with anger in modern day (he's had a lot of practice) but he regrets how he used to be before. speaking of before!! i love to think abt him from the viking era to approximately the late 1500s just... cocky bloodthirsty denmark is really fun to explore and i think people should play it up more instead of making him p much as sweet as in modern times! i dont think he wouldve been anything like that to anyone but his family and own people (also animals btw this guy loves animals 100%)
7) ship(s) with them that i like or at least consider: in terms of like... my version of canon i'm a dennor soloshipper i think :,) BUT i find denmark/norway/finland/sweden fun to think about!! also denmark/estonia is a rarepair i think is veryvery cute. and some classic nedden never hurt anyone!
8) made-up connections with other characters that weren't in the canon (friends, enemies, whatever): yes!! estonia as i just mentioned! he was danish land once and he's a nordic fanboy now so they have to have some kind of relationship! also prussia; i know they do have the whole awesome trio thing going on, BUT i think historical denmark & prussia is not spoken about enough. the 2 were on the same side all the time back then!! finally i find it really funny if he and poland get on each others nerves HAH again because of historical reasons!
9) headcanons about their past: again covered a lot of these already but!! here's one that's a little different. denmark was the first to become christian, and i think he would've annoyed the fuck out of norway and sweden (who were still norse pagan) about it! sometimes it just got him exasperated eye rolls, sometimes it got him beheaded, yk how it goes

Guess whose ankle gave out for no discernable reason while walking to the parking garage at 2am after a bartending shift?
Guess who has a torn ligament now (and possibly something called connective tissue deficiency syndrome which I just played off as me being both active and clumsy all my life) and lost an entire source of income JUST before finally becoming somewhat mentally and financially stable?

I was blessed with many things: I'm pretty cute, I tell an okay story or two, I'm fairly athletic, I have blue eyes and a high IQ (even though I believe IQ tests are a scam but I digress), I have a wonderful son, a beautiful and supportive partner, several loving family members to balance out the abusive ones, and the best friends a person can have. I've got a good work ethic and I'm charismatic when I want to be. I'm resourceful (even if that's from the ✨trauma✨)but...
One thing I was not blessed with? Luck.
I blame my four retrograde placements and the possibility that I leveled a small village in a past life.
In other news, Min Yoongi is ruining my life with his dilf era and long hair (also he's so big now? Sir you were supposed to be my smol kitten boi) and I cannot believe I ever trusted a man, all they do is lie and I cannot think about Changkyun's new tattoo without breaking into hives. Also the latest SKZ album has NO SKIPS and I don't take criticism. What's going on with Jackson Wang? Noel & Layla just look miserable in all their photos! It’s like they don’t seem to have anything to do in life now! No job in acting for either , no kids , no other job besides acting, minimum friends. it’s like what are they doing in their lives ?🤣 noel seems like a private , not to post a lot type of person & L is the complete opposite where she thinks she has to post everything of Noel up on her insta.
Note, they look awkward in all their photos since.. what era was that? I can't believe they're together and nothing is changing. Antis will say of course, they have been together for so many years, why don't you calm down, it's clear that they love each other, otherwise they would have broken up a long time ago, but given Noel's absolute passivity, noticing his worn-out old clothes, his empty unrepaired house, his almost complete absence from the industry, complete ghosting for months (except during strikes. He was active on strikes..just like in 2007. But it feels like he was doing it, because it's kind of what he had to do)

Jake has got to be the most reclusive musician ever. Boy goes on stage plays guitar and then goes back to his hidey hole. Peeking out every changing of the season to update his instagram or be in the background of a tiktok.
All jokes aside, it does make me feel like theres no desire to stay connected to the fans and whilst im aware hes a grown ass man with zero obligation to do so… it does leave those who love and admire him feeling deflated.
yo, talking about the most reclusive musician, please allow me to present ✨Alex Turner✨ from the Arctic Monkeys. bro doesn't have social media, like NONE, not on any platforms (not that any that is known or side accounts discovered by fans, but if you've followed the band for sometime or read some of his interviews you will think e truly doesn't have any)😂 he doesn't even "peek out".
AM did their The Car tour last year, there are also fans pointing out Alex's lack of interaction with fans on stage. but I think he just didn't interact with them the way they wanted him to, plus he is always friendly in photos with fans. and Alex went through stages of persona changes, like from Elvis quiff, to bald, to the grandpa now (not hate lol）
I think the reason why Jake seems extra reclusive is perhaps in comparison with other members? like in AM, all of them are quiet and reclusive, and they've kind of have their "peak" era 2013-14; it's different with gvf, they are an active touring band. and compared to the other boys, Jake does seem to be the quietest, and I think another reason is that since he and Josh are twins, naturally people will compare them (like the sun/moon reference), so compared to Josh appearing all sunshine and bubbly, it does add to Jake's "mysteriousness". but also keep in mind they are both taurus, i do think it's just like different part of a spectrum, my dad is also a taurus and he's definitely the more "jake" kind of taurus. everyone has their own way dealing with fame, and I just hope he's happy
obviously I don't know the boys in real life, and these are just some wild speculation from what we've seen, but even based on these I don't think jake 'hates' his fans, it's just the comparison kind of underlines it; and the mysteriousness and reclusiveness does hold a lot of attraction.
we have to admit they are getting older (duh everyone does) so if you think he's reclusive now, he's only gonna be more reclusive in the future, you just get used to that and deal with it.
(plus, if you just look at some of the comments below his insta posts....if i were him, i'd be fine just peeking out from time to time as well lol

his first successful case, honestly. like that one's easy. he's got a lot, but the one that kickstarted his career and allows him to do what he loves whilst helping other people out? holds such a special place in his heart.

LIKE. there's no way he's active on social media. he has a twit that he only posts on like when i remind him, and i basically run his insta to just post pics of food and travel shots.

he'd definitely help me/teach me to be more observant. which is. so sad honestly but i'm super oblivious and not very observant. he'd have fun making little games and challenges around the house to help me become more observant.
as for me teaching him... i'd teach him how to cook my favorite dishes. teach him what little i know about photography and then we could learn more together. it would be fun to do together. idk if i have skills that he'd like to learn :/ what's he gonna do with all my photoshop abilities????

his is definitely quality time and physical contact.
mine are quality time, physical contact, and words of affirmation.
so when we're together, we are most often in the same room, probably cuddled on the couch together or snuggling in bed.
A- Art - do they draw or paint? what about any other kind of art? what’s their favorite style/subject/another artist who inspires them?
he paints to relax. a soothing and calming hobby for him to indulge in. he's most likely to follow along to Bob Ross videos and simple tutorials on youtube if he doesn't want to make something just on his own. but otherwise he'll just have his favorite music, movie, or audiobook on and lose himself in the painting.

C- Confession - which of you admitted romantic interest in the other first (if they’re the flirty type, when did they admit they were really serious about the other?) how did they do it? what was the reaction?
yeah uh. he's definitely the one who confessed first. he's not overly flirty (but hes not NOT flirty? he's proper flirty and but doesn't disaster flirt unlike some people (robbie moriaenships im looking at you)) so it wasn't so much like "hey all my fun little flirts mean something" but like "when i flirt with you specifically, it's because i am interested in you."
and honestly that's kind of how it went. a meet up for coffee and a walk as normal and a flirty exchange that was immediately followed by,
"Mads, you know that when I flirt, it's not just a casual thing. i am interested in you."
followed by me blushing horribly and stammering awkwardly and Benoit just smiling to himself and letting me process my feelings as we walked.
(of course i return his feelings. we're married.)
