Hey, so what were your immediate thoughts when you realised just what it was Alvin was saying about the lobster claws, what that implied? And also remembering that Fishlegs was within earshot, and him realising what it indicated at the same time the reader was realising?

I would like to clarify that I spoiled myself already by looking through the httyd books tag and already knew that Alvin was Fishlegs dad. HOWEVER!!

THE LOBSTER CLAW NECKLACE?! THREW ME FOR A GOD DAMN LOOP!! Like at first when I heard Fishlegs had a lobster claw necklace in the first book I’m like, alright neat that’s a cool and distinct physical characteristic for Fishlegs. Glasses and lobster claw necklace. BUT THEN MORE HAPPENED!!

I DIDN’T KNOW IT WAS GOING TO BE A GOD DAMN PLOT POINT?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN ITS A PLOT POINT?!

I THOUGHT THE FAKE DRAGON JEWEL WAS THE REAL ONE! AND THEN WHEN ITS REVEALED IT IS IN FACT

Called him a bitch and laughed in his face at his pure stupidity. I was chanting for Fishlegs to kill Alvin when they fought. Sad Fishlegs didn’t but, proud of him still, he did the good and right thing to do in that moment.

Keeper -- a short comic about an angel meeting a robotic lighthouse keeper that doesn't know the world has already ended. Made in about 18 hours for a 24-hour 24-page* black and white comic challenge (that I arrived late to, ha.)

*the actual submission does not include the cover, which was created after the fact for this post.

This was a really great learning experience as someone who's... never really made a completed comic. I ended up really attached to the story by the end of the project (possibly due to all-nighter deliriousness lol) and ultimately am very proud of what I made.There are some things I'd still like to change, particularly text placement, but in keeping with the spirit of the challenge I've elected to leave it as is.
