— oh and by the way im married (zhongli) .
synopsis !! zhongli neglects to inform his friends that he's married.
contains !! they/them reader but referred to as wife, comedic dialogue
Z H O N G L I
Perhaps it's the fact that you've been married for centuries that informing others didn't seem to be a priority for Zhongli.
It wasn't obvious either. He had his day job and you had yours. To regular couples, the amount of distance you two spend would be a little strange, but time is something you have in abundance so it didn't really matter when you spend a few days apart doing your day jobs.
It was Hutao who brought it up the on the evening's Lantern Rite dinner.
"Aiyaya, it seems like everybody alive and dead has a date for this year's lantern rite."
"Hahaha! And here we are celebrating a feast with new and old friends. It doesn't sound like much of a loss to me." Venti laugjs, pouring himself a drink that threatens to overflow from his hand.
"I'm not saying it's a loss, I'm simply wondering wouldn't some of you want to spend the night with a special someone?" She smirks, eyes scanning the group. Chongyun coughs into his cup as Xiao averts his gaze from the troublemaker.
"If you're asking for my opinion, I'd say everyone here is quite special to me," Lumine smiles warmly before glancing at the two archons and yaksha, "I'm sure there's still time for dating in the future. We're not that old."
"Well. . ." Hutao turns to Zhongli. He raises a brow, placing down his cup.
"May I ask why you're staring at me, Director Hu?"
"No reason~ It's just, as your boss, of course I'm a little bit concerned. Aren't you wasting your youth by not going out on dates, mister Zhongli? I'm sure there's a line of Liyuens who would love to–"
A burst of laughter comes from the green bard. "Oh, him? On a Lantern Rite date with someone else? (Name) would surely kill him."
"(Name)?" Everyone questions.
"Huh? He didn't tell you?" Venti tilts his head.
Zhongli coughs, "Ah. . . Please don't be concerned about my dating life, Director Hu. After all, I am already married."
Silence.
A cup drops.
Tea spills (literally).
Then,
"Married?!" The restaurant shakes as Hutao and Lumine jolt upright, hands slamming the table.
"Married." Zhongli confirms.
"What! For how long? When? What's their name? Why have you never–"
Zhongli hushes, trying to calm his boss from jumping over the table. His face dusts a light pink, perhaps embarrassed by the whole ordeal.
"For a few. . . years now. As you know, they're (Name). And as for why I never mentioned my wife. . ." He glances at the crowd, ". . . I simply forgot."
"You. . . forgot," Xingqiu slowly repeats.
"Yes, it seems I've forgotten to inform everyone. Then again, is it not obvious that I'm a married man?"
Chongyun covers his face in his hands, processing the whole ordeal, "Thinking back. . . mister Zhongli always had a domestic kind of aura. It seems so obvious now."
"Wait, wait, wait! How come I didn't know about this? We work together almost everyday! And why does Venti know! Didn't you two just met! Do you even have a ring?" Hutao interjects, flabbergasted as Zhongli and Venti freezes.
In truth, he does have a ring. One he carved himself made of only the most precious of jade and metal. It has rested under his glove for centuries—
Under his glove also hides his draconic arms, golden veins against dark brown, almost scale-like skin. Proof of a entity greater than human.
"Ehe. . . about that," Venti nervously looks away, "I've actually. . . met his wife before!" He covers up, voice laced with enthusiasm.
"Yes, yes, my wife is quite fond of Mondstadt's songs. They've frequently visited the nation before."
"And you don't come along?" Xiangling asks.
"I don't."
The group blinks.
"And what about the ring? I never see you wear a wedding ring." Hutao narrows her eyes.
"That's because I don't wear it." He answers bluntly.
". . . and you never introduced them to us because. . .?" Lumine questions.
"Because . . . I haven't had the time to?"
Hutao rests back on her chair, her eyes glazed in judgment, "No offense mister Zhongli, but you seem like a terrible husband. If you don't get your act straight, I'd say your marriage won't last."
His jaw drops. Venti laughs.

just a small idea since you said you had a lil writers block: since wushi (lion dance) is used for important events/occasions and to honor special guests, maybe you could write about how ga-ming does a lil performance for creator?

despite everything, ga ming knew he was lucky.
he certainly didn’t feel like he was. aside from his continued streak of bad luck at his performances, you never attended any of his shows and your vessels never gave him so much as a second glance. you’ve walked right by him on the street before—and yes, he knows you don’t ‘see’ most of liyue, but he was in the middle of a dance. he’s certain that word must have spread at least somewhat, but even when he put on a show during the last lantern rite, you didn’t attend. it was as if you didn’t even know he was there, skipping his meager stage to meet up with yun jin.
part of him wondered if you simply disliked liyue, but that was easily proven false. you took the time to accompany chongyun on his patrols, xiangling was more than happy to talk about when you’d helped her in a competition in mondstat, and you’d even fetched ingredients for the wangsheng consultant last year. it was the simple fact that you had nothing against liyue, and he was an outlier.
and yet, he was blessed. vision wielders were rare on their own, and only a thin sliver of them had constellations. he was incredibly lucky to be one of the few within your spotlight of attention, but he never felt the love that was supposed to come with it. yes, he had a vision, the lion carved on the back a figure he’s long memorized, but even the latest of liyuen rotations had a chance to exist by your side. though the others always tried to reassure him, their words fell flat. xingqiu had recieved his vision long before he became a vessel, but he had several turns in the sky to try. chongyun was largely ignored and ningguang was rarely missing from the jade palace, but that information didn’t help as much as they thought it did.
he didn’t care that he wasn’t a vessel (as much as one couldn’t care about such a thing) so much as he was ignored. you fought by ningguang’s side and helped yanfei out of the chasm, but he’d never even heard his name thrown your direction. it could be argued that he was being selfish or even egotistical, but he didn’t think so. sword and strongbox secure transport agency was a well-known name throughout liyue, and yet you’d never so much as heard a rumor. it didn’t affect his business—nor did he want your attention for business purposes—but with you helping a film show (at least now he knew you enjoyed theater) in fontaine, he may or may not have been hoping that yilong wharf’s name might have been passed your way.
it hadn’t been, though. his days went on and he continued his rounds as usual, doing his best to promote his dance and maybe getting a few mora thrown his way in return if he was lucky.
but that was fine. irritating, sure, but fine. liyue was in the tail end of preparations for this year’s lantern rite, and he was set on attending. as soon as the ministry of civil affairs opened applications for performers, he’d done his best to secure himself a stage. nobody had given him a secure word, though, saying that it was “up to divine guidance” as if your traveler hadn’t taken the transport up to the jade chamber last week. yes, you often found other things to do during lantern rite, digging into liyue’s past, but you still attended the scheduled events. you still walked the streets and saw the stalls, and there was no way that the entirety of the main road was already taken up when he’d made a point of asking early.
it was because they saw him as a guard first and a dancer second. most people did, and he was lucky they’d given him uncertainty over a guaranteed rejection. the only reason they did at all was because of the constellation etched into his vision, and he was lucky to have that too. he was lucky to have this chance when most street performers could only dream of performing at the lantern rite.
‘lucky.’ it was an accurate word, but one he was beginning to get tired of hearing.
it was fine, though. he was determined—his vision blazed as he left the ministry’s office, a constant warmth at his side—to prove himself, determined to perform for you. he didn’t know when his chance in the stars would be, or when he’d have his time by your side, but he would make the most of each day until then. when, not if, he did, he would do everything in his power to make the best impression possible.
he gave a few polite waves to various merchants as he walked through liyue, making the familiar trek over the bridge and past the gate. the millelith didn’t stop him, and he didn’t stop to say hello, only lingering long enough to acknowledge them with a quick nod. he knew liyue’s hills and they knew he did too, easily navigating to a quiet, flat space of plain. the threat of hillichurls was a constant outside the harbor, but he didn’t let that stop him, confident despite the growing twilight.
ga ming reached into his inventory and pulled on his mask, hands easily finding the controls for the massive puppet. he took a breath, then began to dance, his feet sweeping over the quiet grass.
he had no guarantee when or if he’d receive the chance to chance to win your favor. but if you chose to have him on your stage, he was determined to put on the best show you’d ever seen.

CYNO, as i’m sure you know, is a busy man. for that reason, it took many weeks, if not months, to plan out your birthday. he needed it to be perfect after all. so on the morning of march 6th, you awake to an empty bed. rightfully upset, you wander into the main room where you find cyno, a delicious brunch on the table and tcg cards ready to go. your face breaks out into a smile. you knew he wouldn’t let you down. it was early afternoon by the time the brunch and games were finished, though the day was far from over. he takes you out, a lovely stroll through the streets of sumeru. you were headed on up to pardis dhyai, though cyno refused to disclose any details. along the way, he bought you some small trinkets from stalls in the zubayr theatre. you stopped to watch nilou’s dance, which ended in a happy birthday sung to you. finally arriving at your destination you were amazed to find a huge feast, piles of gifts and your close friends waiting. it seems this would be one of your best birthdays yet, topped only by future celebrations planned by the same man.
ALBEDO will have a portrait of you as a gift painted by himself. you look as elegant as ever, holding a bouquets of your favourite flowers as the sun casts a golden glow on you as it sets. when he hands you the painting, you can tell how much effort he put into it - yet he’s apprehensive. all the hours he spent holding that brush and he doesn’t even know if you’ll like it. of course, the tears in your eyes are quick to quell his worries as he embraces you tightly. a small kiss is pressed to your forehead, along with a whispered “happy birthday, my muse.”
ZHONGLI would have quite the experience with birthdays given his age. and of course, being the liyuen archon meant he knew of every desirable spot the region had to offer. the whole day would be planned for accordingly, with meals, walks and resting time accounted for. your day would begin with breakfast in bed, leading onto a walk through the city as you head towards third-round knockout for drinks. with iron tongue tian’s stories floating through the air like a historical melody, you take the time to admire the hustle and bustle of the nearby streets. you’re shocked when the story ends with a “happy birthday!”, zhongli only offering a knowing smile. you then start a short trip down through the harbour, zhongli buying any gifts you want from the stalls before making your way over to wanshu inn. there, you and zhongli have a filling meal with a cake for desert, decorated just for you. moving to your final destination, you see xiao, who offers you a small gift on your way to the roof. there, he hands you a gift, a silver ring with a complementary cor lapis gem sitting in the middle. he slips it onto your finger, then you move to sit in zhongli’s arms as you admire the view of liyue from above. needless to say, you enjoyed every moment of your special day with your special someone.
HEIZOU knows of your bad relationship with your birthday and wants to be the one to change that. he will have spent a lot of his time preparing the perfect day for you, hoping deep down that you’ll enjoy it. with the permission of his superior, and help from his colleagues, he plans a murder mystery, albeit fake, where each clue leads you closer to a surprise party at the end. you played your unsuspecting role perfectly, though you didn’t know it was all an act in the first place. you seemed genuinely upset at the prospect of a murder, and on your birthday no less. that’s where heizou’s intellect comes in. he knew how this could affect you, or anyone really, so he made some of the ‘clues’ outlandish and suspiciously fake. you thankfully caught on, the victim picking your favourite flowers only to be killed with chopsticks stained with your favourite food was… a bit much. regardless, you took the ‘bait’ and solved the murder, being rewarded with a party and gifts from your friends. there wasn’t much more you could have asked for, and it seemed as though your opinion about your birthday changed for the better after all.
TIGHNARI would know the gift he wanted to give you months before your birthday. he wanted to make you a flower. not through the means of paper or crafts. but with science. your own hybrid, a species made just for you. it took time, naturally so. but he finally had it made, just in time for your birthday. it was a cross between mourning flowers and padisarahs, the gorgeous sunset colours of the mourning flowers mixed with the structure of padisarahs made for one of the most pulchritudinous flowers out there. of course, he couldn’t just give you the flower. no, instead he had a whole garden of them, some being in pots as well. he invited you to dinner, then brought you to the garden with hands covering your eyes. to say you were in awe was an understatement. then again, tighnari managed to shock you each and everyday.
RAIDEN would have to ask kujou sara as to what celebrations humans hold for birthdays. after listening to her advice, she decided on a simple date, focused solely on you. your day was spent walking the streets of inazuma, drinking dango milk and having only the best street food (she wanted to cook but… you know how it is). just when you thought the day was over, she brought you to a cliffs edge, one with a stunning view of inazuma. there was a small picnic prepared, sweet treats that she managed to decorate herself. a short while - and many snacks - later, there was a sudden bang interrupting the serene silence. with a furrowed brow, you looked around hastily to find the source of the sound. it was only when raiden wrapped her arm around you, guiding your face to the sky in front of you that you realised what it was. fireworks. gorgeous colours and patterns filled the sky, an ode to you on your birthday. your head fell to her shoulder as you admired the sight just for you. they slowly came to a stop, but your head remained. raiden’s arm tightened around you as she confessed sacred truths and vows of love to you, drawing your special day to a close.
SHENHE would not be used to human traditions, so she would seek out the guidance of her master and ganyu . the three of them together would plan a small celebration for you, with many gifts made in advance. perhaps the best gift they had for you was a small mechanical device, made with the purpose of star gazing. the idea was shenhe’s, but it couldn’t have been made without xianyun’s help. when march 6th finally rolled round, she was ready. the two of you shared a lovely day together, sharing drinks and meals - she indulged in you and for once had liyuen dishes - and visiting friends along the way. when the time came, she gifted you the device. at first you were confused, but when she explained how it worked, you were elated. you spent the rest of the night stargazing together, while shenhe described constellations for you. a tiny star shot across the inky sky, upon which you wished every birthday would be like this. it was in the early hours of the morning that you finally fell asleep, head resting on shenhe’s shoulder. she promptly carried you home, cuddling up to you before sleeping herself.
JING YUAN - your darling husband - has a practiced plan for your birthday. he wakes you up with your favourite breakfast in bed, leading straight into a near hour long cuddle. if anyone were to witness such an inherent act of intimacy, they would believe you two had become one under the blankets, the tangling of limbs only serving as evidence. dragging you out of bed with a perfected ease, you fall easily into the prepared routine for your birthday. from chess to a picnic, you get a lot done on your day. as you wind down into the evening, there’s a final surprise for you. your favourite cake, topped with candles and sweet decorations. little yanqing was with you both, his smile brighter than the candles when he wished you a “happy birthday!!” as for jing yuan, his regular lazy smile was replaced by something more akin to ‘home’, for that’s what you were to each other. after sharing some of the cake, it was time for bed. though, being his husband, you knew jing yuan wouldn’t let you sleep without more cuddles and sweet confessions of adoration whispered into the night.
BLADE is not one for celebrations, but for you, he makes an exception. he gets permission for a day off, something he rarely sought. he makes simple plans for the two of you, though you couldn’t complain when you were expecting nothing from him. he knew how important birthdays were to humans, but also how you felt about your own. for that reason, he didn’t get anyone else involved, or even brought attention to your day. he home cooked dinner, and you stayed in watching a slew of movies and romcoms, something he’d normally be opposed to. hours passed as you basked in the comforting presence of each other. you thought the night was over, but there was a small surprise blade had for you. he handed you a tiny box, the velvet coarse in your hand. opening it, you find a silver necklace with a little sword pendant, a blade. he clasped it around your neck, the metal cool on your skin before taking you into his arms.
KAFKA would sense that you were stressed even weeks before your birthday. for that reason, she plans a spa day for the two of you. she treated you to the whole thing: massages, manicures and pedicures, facials, the lot. after such a soothing experience, your nerves were calmed. it wasn’t over though as you spent the majority of the day between saunas and steam rooms, as well as a dip in a jacuzzi. to top it all off, kafka ordered only the most luxurious of meals for you, and the sweetest cake they had. you could officially look forward to your birthday from here on out, especially if it would bring such a relaxing experience.
rest assured, these characters will be celebrating your birthday every year.

Set in Stone [Pt.2 (Arranged Marriage Series)]
Tumblr media
Pairing: Zhongli x gn!reader
Word Count: 759
Warnings: None
Two years have passed since the joining of you and your husband. It was… blissful, to say the least. Morax was an admirable husband, always vying to take care of you and shower you with meaningful gifts and silent gestures of love.
You couldn’t help but reciprocate.
Falling for your husband was a breeze once you gave up your useless grudge. The way he held you so softly, how he told stories with articulate and imaginative descriptions, or how he would press a beautiful set of intricately carved jade earrings to the palm of your hand saying he saw them in the market and they reminded him of you.
You cooked him meals, needled out what he liked and didn’t, trying to give him what he loved. You rubbed his hands when he got home, listened to him complain about the stressful duties of being an archon, and on days he was particularly moody, you would sunbathe with him in the garden, leaning against the slender, scaly dragon body.
You had your disputes, sure. But as it turns out, neither of you were ill-tempered or irrational and were able to work it out perfectly well (if not a little rocky at times).
It was an easy afternoon, the Liyuen sun shining brightly through the windows of your home when your husband came back from work. You had been reading a short fantasy novel, lounging across the couch when the door opened.
Your eyes lifted to find your husband standing in front of you with a small smile on his pretty, thin lips, arms hiding something behind his back.
“Husband, welcome home.” You offered him a nice smile in return.
“I have a gift for you.” His smile widened and you couldn’t help your heart melting..
“So I see. What is it?” Morax motioned for you to hold your hands out. You followed his instructions and he placed a thin, dark wood box in your palms.
You sighed with exasperated fondness. “Another necklace? Husband-”
“This one is special.” Morax took a seat next to you, his hands on your thighs, watching you. You didn’t think you’d ever seen your husband this excitable.
You opened up the box to reveal a glowing cor lapis on a silver chain. The cor lapis was carved like a precious stone, held in delicate silver prongs as emitted a soft orange glow; a glow that reminded you of the warmth in a sunset. The chain was the perfect length so it would rest at the top of your sternum.
“It’s gorgeous, but why is it glowing?” You dangled the necklace in front of you as you looked at him with confusion in your eyes.
“I never asked you to marry me.” Morax began. You were about to speak but he raised a hand, requesting your silence. “It is the one thing in our marriage that I regret. Over these past few weeks, I have been speaking to my fellow adepti about the creation of a special object.”
You back went ramrod straight as Morax slid to his knees in front of you, cupping your hands. “Morax-”
“I love you. Deeply. And now, I wanted to ask you properly if you wished to spend the years with me.” He took a breath, eyes fluttering as he attempted to gain his bearings. “This necklace, should you choose to wear it, will make you immortal. Not to say that if you do not wish to wear it that I will decide you do not love me nor will I try to force it on you-”
“Morax-”
“I merely mean to ask… would you spend forever with me?”
You gasped and that was when you noticed the tears falling down your cheeks. You gently placed the necklace in your lap, leaning forward to cup your husband’s face, pulling him into a deep kiss. You smiled into his lips and you could feel him doing the same.
“This is how your first proposal should’ve gone.”
You heard his shaky breath. “Is that a yes?”
You pressed your forehead to his. “Yes.”
-
The necklace sat cool against your skin and you couldn’t help but unconsciously smile at the feeling.
“What is it, my love?” Zhongli asked from the dining table, a cup of cooling tea by his paperwork from the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.
“Nothing.” You said softly, cutting some sunsettia in neat pieces, dropping them in a bowl. You set it down next to the tea and Zhongli thanked you with pretty amber eyes full of years of adoration. “Just reminiscing.”

❝MY LETTER TO YOU, MY DARLING❞
004. 𝐁𝐀𝐈𝐙𝐇𝐔—'what a coincidence, love!'
Tumblr media
📬 there's a letter for you in your mailbox!
Dearest,
Liyue has been undeniably cheerful nowadays. Lantern Rite season, after all, does hold a special place in every Liyuen's heart. It would be rare to find a single face that doesn't bear a smile—yet not impossible, for you're absent and I'm alone.
Changsheng is an amazing company, but even she has few topics to speak of which don't all end at you, reminding me of your absence. I resisted the urge to reach out to you, for you must be quite busy, but I believe I may relax such restrictions once in a while. I hope Sumeru is treating you well, considering how the weather and geographical conditions are quite similar in both nations.
If you would not mind, I'd love to recount a small, laughably insignificant event that took place the very week you left. Remember, the mushrooms and Sumeru rose samples you'd sent to me? They were quite helpful with my research, however what caught my fancy even more was the small batch of green fur that sneaked its way inside the brown paper bag. Certainly, I was curious and was just as quick to question the existence of fennec foxes or furry animals, specifically green in colour, within the Avidya forest.
Much to my luck, I had accidentally signed the letter in quite an ambiguous manner and it ended up on the desk of a Junior Forest Ranger, who was quick to correct me on my mistake and wrote me back about her Master Tighnari, who happened to have green fur. What a pleasant way to be introduced to someone whom I looked forward to meeting the next time when in Sumeru!
Well, then what, I asked her politely not to mention it to anyone and wrote simultaneously to Tighnari. We've established a lovely correspondence by now, and are both willing to provide books and research material and help each other with samples of rarer plant and animal species.
A small thing I'd like to mention, as well—
Tighnari reached out to me a while back regarding your transitions with him. While I would never go as far as keeping tabs on you, I must put in a warning here—you must never consume Rose honey with the sleep medicines, they're extremely bad for your skin. I hope only, that this knowledge from my side doesn't trouble you too much. I am more than respectful of your privacy.
Other than this, nothing particular has happened in your absence. As you asked, the house has been in immaculate condition, Qiqi has been a great help in helping look after the plants and the fish pond. I wish to treat her to Coconut milk, but I believe she prefers it when you give it to her. How partial, isn't it, love?
If you'd be curious, the Yuheng personally dropped by to question when you would return and asked me to convey her message to you—'Take care. I wished to spend this Lantern Rite with you too, however it seems it shan't be possible. Regardless! I hope most earnestly that you are blessed with so much success in life, that time chases after you.'
A few letters and gifts from family members have arrived, too. Of course, I haven't given you my gift, either, so that as well. Everyone else, including Qiqi, is doing very well. So am I.
Hoping earnestly to see you soon,
Yours ever,
Baizhu

Moonlight seeps through the curtains, casting a brilliant light onto the pair. Inseparable, they've always been. Lips connected, sucking on a little red fruit as teeth bite into its flesh, spurting out its sour-sweet nectar into your mouths.
Wet. Passionate. Divine.
Words that all describe the sensations and emotions that surge through your blood. It’s lewd. Terribly so. And it feels right. Scaramouche's hand cusps your breast, feeling your racing pulse as he kneads the mound, while his other hand toys with your pussy. He parts from you to allow you to breathe — catching the sight of your adorable expression with those half-lidded eyes and stuck out tongue dyed with red — before clashing his lips with your once again.
With the strawberry long gone — dissipated into shreds that were swallowed through the tussle, he sucks on your tongue instead, smiling into the kiss as you keen your hips against his fingers. It feels right for your tongues to be intertwined like this, to be able to feel this shared passion and bliss. It makes him wonder if the two of you have been joined by the red string of fate that binds soulmates as one in those Liyuen novels you describe (such a boring pastime, he thinks, but your love for mundane, human things despite being an immortal yourself is another thing he finds adorable about you).
He swallows the noise you make, parting away when he feels fluid wetting his whole hand. His hand grabs your jaw, squeezing it just slightly to tell you to keep your mouth open, before he gathers his saliva in his mouth and spits on your tongue, making your pussy throb. Scaramouche watches your throat bob as you swallow before his electrifying eyes returns to your solicitous, half-lidded gaze.
"That was the most delicious strawberry I have ever tasted."
"Only the freshest. Specially imported from Fontaine, just for the occasion," he says with a boastful tone. "You should be grateful."
You giggle, the sound a euphonious melody he could never tire of hearing. "My beloved Master spends hours tirelessly learning how to bake my favourite strawberry shortcake for my birthday, hosts a banquet with all my favourite foods and is spoiling me in bed. How could I not be grateful?" You trail your hand up to the collar around your neck, tapping on the bell attached to it. "And this. This collar makes me feel like I'm yours."
"You have always been mine, my little fox." Scaramouche flutters his eyelashes against your cheek, looking at you with fondness that is uncharacteristic of the 6th Fatui Harbinger. "I'll give you everything and more. Surely, you have a wish you want me to grant on your birthday, don't you?"
A wish?
You think for a moment before answering with the first thing that came to mind, “Then for my birthday wish, can we have sex over and over again until we tire out?"
Scaramouche blinks before erupting into a cackle. “Fucking seriously? Ha, should have expected it from a vixen like you." He grasps onto his shorts, pulling them down low enough to take out his hardened cock. "I'll do it how you like it. I'll be gentle with you…verbally. But I'm going to fuck this pretty pussy up. I'm going to screw you like you're my obedient cumslut whose only purpose is to be their harbinger's useless cocksleeve. But I'll tell you how much I love you, how perfect you are and how I adore everything about you like you're my spouse. I'll whisper sweet nothings and praises into your ear all while I fuck up this little hole. Because that's how you like it, right?"
Scaramouche rubs his tip against your entrance, not pushing it any more than that. He smiles at you — a deceptive, saccharine smile — as he awaits your response.
You swallow as you shift your gaze away from him. "Yes. I want it like that, Master."
"Good fox," the Balladeer purrs, shoving his entire cock inside you with one thrust.
You squeak as he starts pounding into you, not giving you time to adjust to his inhuman length. Then again, your cunt is so wet and sloppy that it doesn't matter. Not to mention you've done this for hundreds of times that you've gotten used to it. Still, you can't help but stare as Scaramouche moves inside you, an imprint of his cock forming on your belly every time he does so. He presses against that spot as he whispers into your ear. “Needy pathetic little slut. Are you so addicted to me that everyday, you can’t stop thinking about my cock even when you’re supposed to be working? Everyday asking me to have sex with you, even during my harbinger meetings. Have you no shame, little vixen?”
Then again, he isn’t any different. In the walls of your shared bedroom, he isn’t Scaramouche, the Balladeer, the 6th Fatui Harbinger who brings terror and fright to anyone, whether they are his enemies or his very own subodinates. When he’s alone with you, he’s just Kunikuzushi. The discarded doll who you swore your life, sword and soul to aeons ago— no, he’s more than that.
He’s Kunikuzushi, the dysfunctional puppet who was the only being to ever risk his life to save you when others watched you rot in that barren, empty dump for decades. He is the man who would bring calamity to Celestia if they ever dare to lay a hand on you. He is the man who orders you to bow before him on his throne, just so that he can run his fingers through your hair with the gentleness of a feather and whisper those three words that make you think ‘I don’t regret following you to the ends of Teyvat.’
“P-pet me, please…” you moan, wrapping your arms around his neck. “I want to be held."
"Mmm so honest," Scaramouche chuckles, pulling up your top and bra to spit in between the valley of your breasts. "You're so devoted to me that it's adorable. It's endearing, really. The way you're so stern and domineering in front of the other harbingers and everyone else. Yet, you allow yourself to melt in my arms and give in to depravity. It makes me want to spoil you more."
You feel Scaramouche caressing your cheek, his succulent lips nipping at your ears. You couldn't help but slip out a few mewls and pleased fox-like sounds as he continues his ministrations, all while he screws up your soaked cunt. He feels it tighten around him everytime he moves, enveloping with that heat that makes him feel delirious. He is addicted to you as much as you are addicted to him.
Every sound you make — whether it be your innocent laughter, your piercing cold demands directed at the recruits, every moan of his name, every smile, everything, just everything.
He takes pride in the way you scream whenever he enters you. He wants to stretch you to your limit whenever you mutter that he's too big. He wants to break you, only because you love it, and he would do anything you ask.
"Fuck, you…gh–" he pants, speeding up his thrusts. "You always feel so tight around me. So fucking wet and hot. Fuck, I…" I don't deserve you. "I'll give everything to you. I'll fill you up with my seed. You fucking want that, right?"
"Yes! Please, please, please—!"
You're sobbing as he grabs onto your plush thighs, pressing them to your chest. He feels you so intimately just as you feel him. He feels himself getting drunk at the sensation of your pussy swallowing his cock, and he knows by that smitten look in your eyes that you feel the same. Neither of you had any experience in carnal matters other than with each other. But he knows that nobody would be able to make him feel as good as you. Nobody would make him feel like he is anything but a discarded puppet. Nobody…
"Kuni! Kuni, I love you!"
would make him more loved than you.
"...I love you too." Scaramouche collides his lips with yours, taking advantage of your opened mouth to slip his tongue in. "Mm…love you so…fucking much."
He spills his warm seed inside, painting your insides white. Pleased, you mewl into his mouth before creaming all over his cock, squeezing his throbbing shaft and milking it for all it's worth. Scaramouche pulls out of you, letting you recover for a few seconds as he watches his cum drip out of your pussy. He gathers some of it and smears it all over your labia, marvelling at the obscene sight as you squirm.
"What? Don't tell me you're tired already." Scaramouche scoffs.
"No," you mumble, puffing out your cheeks. "That's insulting to a kitsune. You know we're creatures of charm and intellect. I have more than enough stamina to top you."
Scaramouche raises an eyebrow, a smirk on his face. "You think you can do it?"
"I'll ride you until you see stars, pretty boy," you giggle.
"Fine, get on top then."
Eagerly, you push Scaramouche to the bed, already stroking his cock as you leave marks all over his body.
"(Name)."
"Hm?" You look up at the doll, pausing your motions momentarily.
"...Nothing just," He brings your chin up to his face, planting a soft kiss on your lips. "happy birthday."

An elegant man. A man who was as unmovable as rock yet as easygoing as a blade of grass in the wind. Zhongli was a notorious smooth talker. He could convince anyone into agreeing to a contract with him, even if they were as opposed to it as could be. You were no fool to that fact. However, his unbelievable way with words paired with that silky smooth voice of his was something you could never get quite used to. After the start what you believed was a blossoming relationship between the both of you, were puzzled as your flowering relationship had now wilted and was reduced to dust.
~ A few days prior~
You used your hand to shield your eyes from the sun as you strolled along through Liyue Harbour. Summer in Liyue was pleasant. The sun shone brightly, silk flowers and violetgrass were in full bloom, the sky was clear and nothing seemed amiss. The street that you were making your venture through was lively. Vendors stood behind their stalls, ushering tourists and Liyuen people to come and buy their products. The occasional group of small children running past you, giggling and playing games as they ran. Adults stood in the shade of buildings, chatting as they watched the children play joyfully. You smiled as you felt comfort in the usual hustle and bustle of the city.
Hu Tao, your boss, had tasked you with a few errands to complete here and there, but nothing too unusual. Your first assignment was to pick up an order of Jade Parcels from Wanmin Resturant.
'Strange...' You thought as you scanned the list of items written by your boss one more time before shrugging.
Sure, Miss Hu Tao had always been an eccentric character. She was quite bizzare and nothing short of unusual, however you knew better than to question her. She was an amazing boss, always made the right decisions, and was an incredible businesswoman.
"Good afternoon, Chef Mao," you greeted the owner of the restaurant as you approached, offering a small smile to him.
"Good afternoon, [Name]! It's a pleasure to see you here, as usual!" Chef Mao replied in his usual loud, jovial tone, "What brings you here today? Here to try Xiangling's new Slime Violetgrass special?"
You inwardly grimaced at the name of the ingredients alone, "As lovely as that sounds, I'll unfortunately have to decline. I'm here for this."
You named the dish that you were tasked to collect. Chef Mao smiled and told you he'd be just a second, disappearing into the kitchen section of the restaurant. You decided to take a seat as you waited, enjoying the simple interior of the dining area. As you sat down, you subconsciously began to fiddle with one of the buttons on your outfit.
As per Miss Hu Tao's request, your attire was a slight alteration of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlour uniform, the dark brown colours reminiscent to the colours that adorned your boss's clothes. The colourful accents of your outfit were customised to be your favourite colour. The length of the outfit and your sleeves were perfectly tailored in a way that fitted you.
Soon enough, Chef Mao returned to the front of the shop, handing you a lunchbox which held the meal that you had come for. You thanked the chef, handing him an appropriate sum of money in exchange for the meal. He responded with his signature grin and waved as you left.
~
Before you knew it, the sky had adopted a warm orange and pink hue as the sun began to retire for the day, allowing the moon to take its place for the night. You had long since returned from your errand venture and was idly sitting on a plush sofa, gazing out of the window next to your desk, watching the sun set.
You had finished your day's work, feeling a little bored as you now didn't have much else to do. An idea popped into your head. Silently smiling to yourself, you stood up from your sitting position, out of the room, and down one of the many hallways decorated with the portraits of the previous heads of the Funeral Parlour, stopping at one of the double doors that had a small name plate reading, 'Consultant Zhongli'.
"Finished with work so early, [Name]?" A smooth, deep voice spoke as you entered the room, almost as if the young man in front of you had sensed your presence.
"Good evening, Mr Zhongli," You responded with a slightly cheeky grin, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything."
"Of course not, [Name]. You're welcome here every time."
You welcomed yourself into the room, sitting on the sofas that were placed I'm Zhongli's office. After a while of just staring at the ceiling and tapping your fingers against your lap, you glanced over at Zhongli.
His chocolate brown hair framed his well-sculpted, handsome face perfectly as the tousled locks somehow managed to make him look as elegant and as proper as possible. Gold highlights that stood out from the rest of his hair glistened in the orange light that bled into the room. The shadows cast over his face due to the light source only added to the effect of his chizzled features. Shimmering gold eyes flickered over the documents on his table, his perfect, elegant gloved hands with beautiful fingers sorted through the several sheets of paper, the sound that emmited from his actions were drowned out as you continued to take in his appearance. You couldn't find any words to describe him. His ethereal beauty mesmerising you each time and leaving you at a loss for words.
To be completely honest, you had grown a maybe small, maybe moderately sized, maybe large crush on the brown haired man in front if you in the year you had been working at the Funeral Parlour alongside him. He was so regal in the way he carried himself. His mannerisms screamed elegance and he was incredibly kind to you. The way he addressed you as "dear" or "dear [Name] made your heart jump.
You were quickly pulled out of your trance when his golden hues suddenly flickered to you, as if he noticed you watching him. Your eyes widened as you quickly averted your gaze, the floor suddenly becoming so interesting as you stated at it intently. You could've sworn you saw him smile before you looked away from his face.
Zhongli stood up from his desk chair, the heels of his shoes clicking on the polished floors as he made his way towards you. He sat down quite close to you, the soft, plush material dipping under his weight. His close proximity and the heat you felt radiating from his body making your cheeks feel warm and your body tingle just a bit.
"Why is it that, once you finally get a break, rather than taking a rest, you instead come to me?" Zhongli chuckled, teasing you, "Is it that you want to hear another one of my stories?"
You almost jumped out of your skin as he leaned in towards you, your noses almost touching, a teasing smile present on his lips. His hand gently caressed yours that rested beside you on the plush sofa. Despite being so poised and proper, even Zhongli occasionally found joy in teasing you.
"I uh-" Your brain frizzled as you struggled to come up with a response. His presence alone was enough to fluster you, but him being this close wasn't something you were used to. The soft scent of caramel and sandalwood he carried gently wafted through the air and entered your nose. 'He smells so nice...'
Zhongli chucked again, this time his eyes crinkled slightly from his smile and he raised his knuckle to place under his chin as he laughed. His chuckle was so deep, yet smooth and airy, "No need to get so flustered, dear [Name], I merely jest."
You cleared your throat as Zhongli shifted back to his seating position, no longer leaning in towards you.
"What story would you like to hear today, my dear?"
~
About 30 minutes into listening to Zhongli's stories, your eyelids began to grow heavy. Zhongli was an amazing storyteller, his smooth, gentle, calming voice only added to his mesmerising way of telling his tales of the past. You quietly yawned, trying your best to stay awake to hear Zhonli's tale to the end but soon enough, you lost the battle to sleep.
Zhongli paused midway through his sentence as he felt a soft thump on his shoulder. He smiled, gently shaking his head fondly at you as he adjusted your body to a more comfortable position. Softly, he laid your head on his lap, stroking your head and brushing stray parts of your hair out of your face with his gloved hand. He gently stroked the side of your head, his warm hand slowly reaching down to caress your cheek. He gazed at your sleeping form, aware of the feelings he felt swirling in his chest but decided to supress them for now. Your face was warm, just like his hand. Chest rising and falling as you took deep breaths in your peaceful slumber. He silently chucked to himself as he saw your nose twitch when he gently poked your cheek.
After a few minutes of watching you sleep, Zhongli leaned over to grab a soft blanket, using it to cover you up to your shoulders. His body tensed as you stirred a little in your sleep from his movements but he soon relaxed once he saw you smile as you nuzzled your cheek into his thigh.
~
The next morning, you woke up feeling quite refreshed. You were in a state of being half asleep and half awake until your eyes suddenly jolted open, remembering what happened the night before. You had fallen asleep and rested your head on Zhongli's shoulder. You felt your palms grow clammy as your face heated up from embarrassment.
Why did you have to fall asleep in such an awkward position. You began to panic, worrying whether or not you snored or drooled on the brunette's shoulder. Just to make sure, you raised a hand to your lips to check if you had actually drooled, with caught the attention of the golden-eyed man.
"It seems you've awoken, dear. I must say, you are quite restless in your sleep." hearing Zhongli's voice first thing in the morning was an absolute blessing, but that was besides the point.
"Mr Zhongli!" You yelped, realising the position you were in. Your head was resting on his very soft, warm, plush thig- you get the idea. You quickly shot up and lowered your head in a small bow as an apology. Your face began to feel incredibly warm as you were slowly being swallowed by embarrassment.
"No need to apologise, my dear," He gave you a closed eye smile, a soft chuckle evident in his voice, "Your sleeping face was quite adorable."
His unusual yet charming comment made your heart skip a beat and your face feel warmer than it already did before.
"Ah, um, thank you?" you managed to squeeze out, wanting to bash your head against the wall for making your reply come out like a question.
The door clicked open, revealing Hu Tao with a cheeky smirk on her face, "My my, am I interrupting something?" she teased.
Your heart dropped into your stomach and out of your ass from the jumpscare. You wanted to hide your face in your hands as Hu Tao showed up at the door. Of all people, your boss had walked in on you resting your head on Zhongli's lap.
"I was a little worried when I saw neither of you two had checked out for the night yesterday, but I see why now~" Hu Tao's grin grew wider as she continued to tease you.
Zhongli stayed silent as he looked at you, as if he was waiting for you to reply.
You swallowed, "I'm really really reaaaally sorry, Director!" You apologised, bowing your head towards her.
She laughed, waving her hand from sire to side, "Oh, it's no biggie, [Name], you were dismissed for the day ayways when you decided to take a nap."
Hu Tao clapped her hands.
"Now, now, since it's not a busy day, how about you two put up advertisement posters in these places? Together?" She handed you a clipboard you swore she pulled out of thin air and gave Zhongli a stack of posters.
Her emphasis on the "together" gave you the impression that she gave you that assignment with something else on her agenda.
-
After the Director gave you (and Zhongli) your task for the day, you left his office to quickly head home and freshen up. Yesterday was quite warm, and you had sweat a lot more on your errand run than you would like to admit, which gave your clothes a dash of not so pleasant body odour. On top of that, you were sure you looked quite a mess.
You were halfway down the hall when a thought suddenly appeared in your mind. 'Did Zhongli sleep at all?'
-
Your little task with Zhongli had you feeling quite famished. You were in such a rush that you forgot to eat after you had freshened up, excited at the thought of spending a full day with your crush- I mean your senior who you admired very much.
Zhongli took notice of your slowed pace and slightly more jagged breathing and recommended you both rest at The Third Round Knockout for some tea before completing your little assignment. Of course, you accepted.
The seats you were outside the store and had quite a good view of the rest of the harbour. As you waited for your pot of tea to arrive, you caught Zhongli staring at a poster on a nearby wall. It was a poster for one of Xinyan's small concerts. You had heard about the concert taking place but you weren't quite sure about going.
"Are you interested in the concert?" You asked, surprised, not taking Zhongli for one to enjoy fast-paced, upbeat music like Xinyan's songs.
Zhongli's shoulders jolted ever so slightly, startled to be caught staring, "Oh, I enjoy Miss Xinyan's music very much," He mused.
"We should go together then. If you want to, that is-" Wow, [Name], real smooth.
The 'young' man smiled at your request, delighted that you asked him to accompany you in the first place, "sure," he returned with a closed eye smile.
-
Spending a day with Zhongli usually ended with a walk through the outskirts of Liyue Harbour, which you had grown fond of in the time you've spent with the man. This time, you found yourself walking with him in a comfortable silence. The pair of you passed the occasional small group of geo slimes or a geovishap that for some reason all kept their distance away from you. It was confusing to say the least, as usually, you had to fend then off tooth and nail with the polearm you were given by the Funeral Director as a gift a few months ago. Despite being visionless, you could still hold your own in a fight against a group of slimes.
Your short walk had extended to about an hour and the sun was beginning to set. Familiar, beautiful shades of orange and pink decorated the sky in a perfect blend. The colours of twilight presented themselves as a perfect combinations of night and day. Stars began to show themselves the further lower into the horizon the sun got. Zhongli was quiet next to you, silently enjoying the scenery of the sunset. Nothing seemed amiss and your surroundings began to stand still as it felt as if you were the only people in the world. Just you and-
Well, that was until the low rumbling of thunder snapped you out of your daydreaming state, clouds appearing seemingly out of nowhere. Before either of you could look up, rain began to descend from the sky. You raised the clipboard that you had received earlier that day over your head in a futile attempt to shield yourself from the pelting raindrops.
The rain showed no sign of stopping as your clothes began to grow damper and damper. Zhongli seamlessly removed his jacket and placed it over the both of you, pulling you close and using his arms to support the coat in some form of makeshift umbrella. His closeness to you and his arm on the side of your body, holding up his coat made your chest feel a pleasant warmth.
He turned his head to look at you, his damp strands of hair sticking to his face and his dress shirt hugging his figure due to the wetness of his clothes.
"We should look for a place to take shelter. I'll be fine, dear, we just don't want you catching a cold," His voice sounded like he was whispering in your ear.
"I agree, but you should look after your health too," You replied, quite flattered that Zhongli seemed to care for you so much, but a little worried for him too.
Zhongli chucked at your statement, the idea of looking after himself foreign to him, "Dear, I'm a-"
He suddenly stopped speaking, however his eyes showed that he had a lot more to say.
"What we're you going to say?" You tilted your head, a little confused.
"Ah, don't mind me," He shook his head, changing the subject, "I know a place we can take shelter until the rain stops."
You could tell there was something that Zhongli was keeping from you, but you decided it was best if you didn't pry. After all, everyone has their secrets.
Zhongli guided you to a small cave which looked like an appropriate shelter from the rain. By the time you had gotten there, your clothes were quite soaked and you felt like a wet mop. Gosh, you wished you had a pyro vision now.
"I come here on my walks around this area sometimes," Zhongli started, "It's a nice area to relax when I need a little peace and quiet."
He was right. The gave was littered with several ores of cor lapis. They glistened and glittered so much that they somehow provided as a light source inside the otherwise dimly lit area. You took notice of the rich, gold colour that strongly resembled Zhongli's eyes.
"It's a really pretty cave," you smiled, "the cor lapis are so shiny it makes it look like they're glowing"
Strangely, Zhongli looked quite proud at your comment about the cor lapis. Maybe he just really liked rocks?
~
"Oh, the rain's stopped." You looked out of the entrance of the cave.
"It seems so," Zhongli replied, following in suit and looking outside.
You decided to head back to the city and return home for he night.
The sun had completely set and the sky was now dotted with stars and the moon glowed proudly among the twinkling stars. The walk into the city with Zhongli was silent as there wasn't much to talk about. As you were walking, he had offered to drop you off at your home, which you accepted as long as it didn't cause him any trouble.
The night was quiet, the streets were mostly empty and few lights were on to illuminate your path. After reaching your door, you reached in your pocket to find your keys. Unlocking your door, you turned around to face Zhongli, returning the jacket he had leant you during your walk and thanked him. He smiled, reaching a warm, gloved hand to pat you on the head, gently shifting a few portions of your hair as he did.
His smile remained as his eyes seemed to be looking right through you, as if he was thinking about something.
"Mr Zhongli?" You called his name, snapping him out of whatever trance he was in.
He pulled his hand back and returned it to his side, collecting the jacket from you and taking a step back. He had a conflicted look on his face, which didn't suit him all too well as you were so accustomed to seeing him with a relaxed expression or the occasional soft smile.
"Goodnight, [Name]," he said in a flat tone, abruptly turning around and walking away before you could reply. He didn't even call you "dear", like he usually did.
His sudden departure left you perplexed. You were a little hurt at his sudden change in demeanour. Did you offend him? Did you do something wrong?
You couldn't think of anything as you blinked once, then twice, still stunned. This wasn't the first time something had happened like this with Zhongli. Sometimes, he was a little out of it, which was so unlike him. He would look like he wanted to say something and then quickly interrupt himself or say nothing at all. At first, you didn't notice his sudden change, but it was becoming too frequent to ignore.
'Just what was up with him?'

Even through the fog on uncertainty and confusion The little doe finds her way and gets home to give this story a satisfying conclusion
Tumblr media
Crys stares at the man in front of her, much taller than her, elegant, with a regal air to him and something that calls to her. "You... I know you." Crys whispers. There are flashes of moments in her mind, he was there but his name... his name...
Her heart beats fast in her chest, her breath catches and her cheeks feel slightly warm.
He chuckles. "I would surely hope so."
He places a hand at her cheek and she feels compelled to nuzzle into his warmth. He smells like... mate. Her mate, safe.
"I heard about your... predicament." His eyes soften. "I'm sorry you had to go through that. You were never in any real danger at least, but if I had noticed sooner..." He sighs. "No matter, all is well now. Welcome home, my dear Crystalfly (Jīngdié)" He murmurs lovingly in Liyuen.
Crys' eyes widen. "Jīngdié... T-That is...!"
It's like everything falls back into place, like her world flips on it's axe and she spins, her head pounds and she shuts her eyes tightly, stumbling back. Strong arms catch her and she gasps, taking a few moments to compose herself back again.
Oh this past week was a nightmare.
She looks up at the handsome man holding her. Her archon, her lord, her beloved, her mate.
Over 400 years and she still blushes like a teenager.
"Zhongliiii..." She whines, her eyes watering. "I was so scared!!" She clings to him, sobbing.
"Oh dear." He pats her softly, rubbing circles on her back to comfort her.
---
"Thank you SO much Kazuha." She nods at him, immensely grateful. "I don't think I could've kept my cool and found my way back so fast without you."
"No need to worry about that, I'm glad."
"You have my gratitude as well, young man." Zhongli adds. His amber eyes glint in interest, perhaps he catches something special about the ronin.
"Hm, as I said, I'm happy to meet and help a new friend." Kazuha inhales deeply and smiles, maybe catching something particular in the air.
"Oh! Rinrin, what are you and Alhaitham doing here? Are you on vacation?" Crys turns to her friend, now excited to see her again.
"We were worried about you. I tried contacting you multiple times but... nothing worked, we knew something must have happened." She exchanges a look with her husband. "Alhaitham wanted some help with a little project of his on ancient Liyue scriptures or dialects or something of the like hehe."
"I see, sure I can try to help! But right now I'm so tired... I want to sleep for a full day or more." She groans. And cuddles, she definitely wants cuddles. "Hm, I should probably send a letter to Palais Mermonia... Oh, and the Grand Narukami Shrine, I wonder if I can recover whatever belongings I left or lost at Inazuma." She sighs in defeat.
"One thing at a time, dear."
Meirin nods. "Rest is important. Ah, but now I'm wondering... what kind of youkai could do something like that, and how did they even get your name?"
"Actually I think I do know the answer myself." Crys says, she turns to Zhongli. "I recall getting a letter from you shortly before my returning date and you happened to address me as 'my dear crystalfly' as usual didn't you?"
"Oh. That is correct." So it was his fault?
Crys huffs. "Next time I go to Inazuma I will hunt down the youkai who did this." Her eyes narrow, hands at her hips.
"Woah, rare instance of Spring Bringer being violent."
It was good to be back...

Lol, imagine a modern AU where Childe is part of the Russian, I mean, Snezhnayan mafia, a young boss or a bodyguard, and Zhongli used to be the leader of the Liyuen triads but retired to run a flower shop that specializes in funerals (it's adjacent to Wangsheng funeral parlour, get your funerals and flowers at the same place!, or so Hu Tao advertises it), and they have a meet cute when Childe's boss comes to Liyue to attend a funeral of their associate who was in one of the triads, and Childe is sent to buy the flowers.

🎀 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐘— of reminiscent midmorning delight.ᐟ ❝ lotos natum ☄️❞
@sxmmer-cherry's side blog!
⚜️ welcome to the feiyun artist's guild! this is a branch of the feiyun commerce guild, which focuses majorly on the establishment and continuation of liyuen monopoly over the sales of precious jewels across teyvat. established since 1920, we consider ourselves the hallmark of traditional liyuen jewellery.
our pieces are crafted with utmost sincerity and bearing in mind the wearer, whose comfort matters most. you may find the following pieces littered across the shop—
# 🎍cherry rambles for: [character name] ↷ in which i brainrot for some of the lovely characters of genshin # 🎈cherry's works ↷ in which are all my works in a general manner! # 🦪cherry's having fun ↷ in which i participate in events and interact with fun stuff # 🔱cherry is interacting with: [blog name] ↷ in which i'm interacting with other blogs # 🧿cherry is having a third-eye opening ↷ in which i, do, in fact, have a third-eye opening # 🩰 cherry is sending love <3 ↷ in which, i do, in fact, send the receiver lots of love # 🐚 cherry's secret stash ↷ in which there's pretty things i'll consider using for my posts and aesthetics
simply instruct the helpers, and they shall show you around.
⚜️ about the shopkeeper—
about me + rules . askbox ( always open. )
⚜️ as does every other guild, the feiyun artist's guild has certain restrictions, as well. while i do not condone any form of stealing, i believe it is applicable more on our main branch. regardless, kindly refrain from any inappropriate behaviours intended to hurt other's sentiments. while your motive may or may not not come to life, you will certainly find yourself out of the shop.
⚜️ this particular branch of our guild is still quite new, hence you would happen not to find too many things to engage with. regardless, any form of interaction is still quite appreciated and welcomed. i allow and welcome people to interact with me via inbox! i'd request not to jump directly into the messages, however!
⚜️ i would, personally, like to request my closest to interact with me regarding all thing's joyous and fun here so as to avoid any cluttering of the much restricted main branch!

↺ 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐎
░ my closest call me cherry, though my real name is chryseis! i don't mind being called by either name. enjoy your stay here! we hope the ornaments are to your liking.
feel free to reach out should anything bother you, or if you simply wish to have a chat. sometimes though, my dear friend, yanfei will tend to you on my behalf! or if you wish to speak to her instead, then be our guest, too!
↺ 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗧: 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘𝗥
░ well this one's funny—last week, i was rearranging the jewellery, the expensive gold ones, at that. it was late into the evening and the shop had been shut which meant there was little light to illuminate the place.
coincidence was such that it was yanfei's birthday the very day. hu tao [who i have always suspected to have something for yanfei] had brought a special surprise for her, which was surprisingly, and equally unfortunately, a gold trinket.
halfway into the shop via the window, she thought that it was her who was taking care of the shop, due to my pink robes. and i thought that she was a thief who had stolen gold from the shop and was attempting to run away.
well, then what? i grabbed her as quick as i could and almost beat her up when she suddenly shouted—'it's me!' and of course, i knew who the idiot was. it makes me laugh each time if think of it, and makes her scowl each time i mention it.
regardless though, i wonder, why did she have to enter so secretively, even if all she wished to do was give a gift to yanfei?
↺ 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗧: 𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦
░ i remember it still... about eight years ago, when i was still as young as thirteen and the guhua clan's younger son was nine, mom had come rushing to home.
'what happened?', i had asked and quickly she answered—someone had stole the expensive sapphire piece father had exported a month back from the store. certainly, i had been worried and upset at the loss of my parents. the guilt increased twice-fold when i saw little xingqiu clutching the jewel close to his chest and slowly tiptoeing to the calligrapher's office.
'why did you steal from my parents?' i asked him, and teary eyed he thus answered—
'my parents won't let me learn calligraphy and poetry because they think a son can't do these things.'
obviously, i let him off the hook at the expense of my parents, feeling quite sorrowful for the younger boy. so lovely he grew up to be that he has returned my parents jewellery of thrice the cost, despite my opposition.
he just smiles every time, and tells me to brew him some tea. 'your adoration and favour is worth more than any amount of mora', as he likes to say.
hah, what a lovely child.
↺ 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗬'𝗦 𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗘𝗦
░ yanfei talks too much sometimes... i really adore her but honestly? not so helpful when a customer asks her to show the silver pieces and halfway through it she launches into a discussion about the lady who just returned a silver necklace because they were cheaper at the other side of the town.
ugh.. in my defense? we import the silver from snezhnaya whereas they work with the cheaper liyuen ores!
↺ 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗙𝗘𝗜
░ we've been friends since forever! when my parents took down the chinaware shop, considering how prosperous they already were by that time, i and yanfei were still in the early phases of our friendship. i'd unfairly lost a land case, and she had been helping me recover.
she was the major source of help in organizing the jewels shop in the most posh part of liyue! not only did she help us with the paperwork, but also scared the nearby keepers into forsaking their monopoly over the jewel business.
besides that, we're like platonic soulmates, you see. we almost always agree on most things, and always have fun together! i don't think i can say it in words really... we're almost inseparable now.
↺ 𝗕𝗜𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗗𝗔𝗬
░ oh, it's on 2nd august! wait, today's 2nd august though... oh, you're giving me gift! awww! thank you so much sweetheart!
i can't express myself in conventional words, so allow me to do something for you instead—i've heard liyue kiosk is the best place to go to a date on. how about you and me and a date to liyue kiosk?

it’s cold outside (with you, it’s so perfect)
Tumblr media
shenhe/gn.reader. fluff. 0.7k words.
the low temperatures of the mountains of liyue can be harsh, but shenhe’s cold is really all you need.
Tumblr media
the great mountains of liyue were a sight to behold for anyone that came across them. their intimidating heights and peaks that stretched far into the sky, the foreboding stone forest standing tall against all the calamities of the past centuries.
very few were the lucky ones who managed to climb these peaks, against the magnitude of the risks and the fear of imminent death lest you make even the smallest of errors.
you were one of the lucky ones, calmly sitting on one of the peaks on one moonlit night, the cool breeze of the otherwise warm liyuen weather causing goosebumps to erupt on your skin.
the still quiet of the night faded away as soft footsteps approached, you closed your eyes in amusement because she was trying to be sneaky and quiet when there was nothing else making sounds except the wind and the echoes of crickets far down below.
“did i disturb you?” her voice was quiet, her words murmured as she stood some distance away from where you were sitting.
“not at all, shenhe. i was waiting for you.” turning to look at her, you were met with the sight of the adepti disciple glowing under the moonlight, her hair swaying in the wind like a silver stream, her uncertain eyes locked onto yours for confirmation that she wasn’t intruding.
you smiled at her behaviour, it had been so long, but she was still cautious. she couldn’t be blamed, but you didn’t mind reassuring her either.
“come sit,” you pat the space next to you, “tell me about your trip to the city.”
she spoke of meeting madame ping’s disciple, an outgoing young woman by the name of yanfei. “she talked a lot, something about laws. she just kept going, i couldn’t stop her.” her words were met by quiet laughter due to her serious expression. no doubt she had repeated her words several times to get yanfei to stop talking, to no avail.
she spoke of spending time with ganyu, learning more and more of her past with cloud retainer and how she balances the mortal and adepti worlds with seeming ease. “she gives good advice, i think. she’s considerate, she understands my upbringing and tries to advise accordingly. it’s..nice.” her voice went impossibly quiet towards the end.
moving closer, you gently rest your head on her shoulder, eliciting a quiet gasp from her. “she understands you, shenhe. i’m glad you have her by your side.”
she continued looking ahead, continued talking about her day and her visit to liuli pavilion and her first time trying ganyu’s special dish. she spoke of the city as though she had lived in it for so long, and not at the same time. the familiarity of people was there but the familiarity of the city itself was not.
you listened intently, humming in response and adding remarks when you felt like it.
she stopped talking at some point, you couldn’t really remember. it was a thing between the two of you, enjoying the silence, looking out at the view before you.
tonight, your view was shenhe herself, illuminated in the moonlight. a view that beat any others by a long shot, the moon making her hair glow as though it were magical, ethereal and out of this world, every part of her face looked angelic.
your admiration was interrupted by the feeling of cold on your hand, shenhe’s fingers resting upon yours. you smiled to yourself, moving impossibly closer and fitting your head right between her neck and shoulder.
“am i cold?” her question did not break the comfortable silence, her words never did.
“a good kind of cold, the perfect kind of cold.” you murmured into her neck, to which she tried her best not to make a move, even if it tickled.
“the kind of cold you yearn for after a long time of hot and warm and exhaustion. the kind of cold that gives comfort and is all you need even though you don’t know it.” you continued, your lips pulling into a grin when she wriggled due to the feeling of your lips on her neck. burying your face in her neck, your fingers dared to move away from hers, resting atop her turned hand and intertwining her cold with your warmth.
“you’re my favourite kind of cold, shenhe.”

Welcoming genshin characters to your teapot
A/n: just something i think about a lot, living together with your favs in your little pocket realm. I can imagine how flabbergasted some would be when you tell them to jump in your teapot😂
I'm envisioning the emerald peak layout btw
Tumblr media
Childe
-Probably thinks you've got a few screws loose from all the spars you guys have had the first time you cheerfully announce that you want him to get into a teapot with you.
- stares at you, dumbfounded and tilting his head at the teapot in your hands.
"so you want me to enter this...?"
- you nod enthusiastically, excited to give him a place to stay and grow your bond together.
"uhm... Traveller, are you sure you didn't hit your head too hard?"
- that's your cue to begin explaining whats going on, and finally a look of understanding takes over childes face, before he finally shrugs and says:
"well, here goes nothing."
- andddd big surprise! Your now outside your mansion, weather mild and the garden to your right.
"woah, you weren't kidding..."
- you bring him inside to show him around, bringing him to his own room before introducing him to the myriad of training equipments you have on another mountain.
-all in all, very impressed and more than happy to spend more time around you. The training gear is just a bonus, he promises.
"a beautiful home, traveler, i hope I'm not intruding too much."
Zhongli
- of course he's already familiar with the concept, but pauses to admire the teapot itself for a moment. He thinks you chose well, the artwork done in a traditional liyuen fashion.
"before we enter, i must say you have excellent taste, traveller."
-looks at your garden outside the mansion in appreciation, noting the small tea table with a smile.
- as you tour the inside, he can't help but notice you tailored his room to his tastes, antique yet elegant furniture making up most of the decor.
- is pleased by the landscaping you've done outside, making note to invite you for a walk one time. He's sure you know the area like the back of your hand, but the eternal pleasant weather coupled with company is too tempting an offer.
-all in all, will probably occasionally bring up some antique he thinks you may like, but enjoys the calm atmosphere and is more than happy to stay awhile.
"thank you, traveler, I'll be sure to stay awhile yet."
Diluc
- Another one who's extremely confused and probably also starts to think your a little crazy, too polite to comment on it though
- much to his relief you do begin to explain when you notice the odd look on his face, and with a little hesitation he's quick to enter your domain
- pleasantly surprised when he sees grape vines growing around your mansion, and even more pleased when he learns you put them around for him
- he's definitely going to examine these grapes later, might even make a special wine named after you
- finds the location to be relaxing, as theres no risk of unwanted guests *cough* kaeya *cough* since you have to approve any who try to enter
- uses the space to get away from work when he can, relaxing into his seat when he does arrive.
"thank you, traveler, for this opportunity."
Kaeya
- Also confused, not afraid to outright call you crazy.
"uhm traveller, i think you've worked yourself to insanity..."
- nods along to your explanation before touching the teapot midway
-did NOT expect to show up in some random mountain range in front of a mansion
- next thing he knows your appearing next to him, a little breathless and frantically trying to ascertain he's alright.
"I'm fine, y/n. In fact, i think your more frazzled than i am."
- thinks about how he could hold this over dilucs head when he gets back, i mean c'mon, surely not EVERYONE was granted this opportunity.
- low key drinks alchohol out of your tea set, not in an attempt to get drunk or anything he literally just can't find anything else and didn't want to be caught with the bottle.
- hangs around quite often, and compliments your decor choice for his room.
"you know me quite well, it seems."

His vision rests on his left side and holds a self-sewn “scarf” and a string of gem beads. A jade ring wraps around his belt loop which holds more crystal beads and a talisman he made. A piece of black and gold shoulder armor is situated on his right shoulder and held by black straps that go across his chest. Some rings and other crystal bead strands complete his design. Tattoos & Markings: An open “eye” tattoo on left palm, a closed “eye” on the right palm, talisman symbols down his ribs on the right side. Blemishes: A few random scars from everyday life, many small cuts along his inner forearms, a small scar on the side of his neck.
Powers And Abilities Rarity: Five Star Vision: Cryo Constellation: Renatus Moth (Reborn Moth) Weapon(s): Sword
-Special Moves- Elemental Burst: When the burst is activated, for a period of time, everything freezes. Nothing moves. Allowing for Lixue’s soul to leave her body and attack enemies until the countdown hits zero. In which her soul will return back to his body, and things will begin moving again. The damage inflicted when Lixue is out of his body stays. This countdown can be increased slightly by leveling up the talent. Starting at three seconds and reaching its max at twelve seconds. Elemental Skill: A quick slash with the sword Lixue is assigned that quickly circles his body, applying some physical damage and cryo damage. Charged Attack: A quick series of “two swords”, which is basically just Lixue & his soul hitting an enemy quickly at the same time.
-Talents- Normal Attack; Xianshen Swordsman E-Skill; Pollux Slash E-Burst; Fangshih Interval Xukong Adept; When Lixue falls(or “dies”) there’s a 30% chance he’ll revive on his own to 40% health. (He will come back with 60% health if you have his second constellation) Hun Shi: When using his Elemental Skill or Burst, he’ll sometimes double the amount of elemental energy gained from elemental attacks. The energy that is given as a result of this is given to his team members. (For example; using his burst might result in his team’s bursts being filled) Shuimu; Higher hydro resistance. (15% higher def against hydro damage, 30% if you have his fourth constellation)
When/How Vision Was Gained: After inhabiting the body of a man, Shi-Chen Zhihao, and declaring she would never take life for granted, Lixue went to enjoy the feeling of life again. Taking in a deep breath as she overlooked Liyue, what it was now that she had been dead for over three decades. As Lixue looked to the sky, noting the flying lanterns mixing with the stars, he notes something falling towards him. He reached out and caught it. He held a vision, a cryo vision. It was cold and reminded the soul of the icy chill of being deceased, as well as the cold of how she died to begin with. It made him laugh quietly. Wondering if maybe this was Celestia’s way of apologizing, or maybe, it was taunting him. How They Feel About Their Vision: Though he’s not entirely sure what he did to deserve Celestia’s attention, he values his vision with great pride. He also finds humor in the irony of its element. He finds it makes his life, filled with vague goals of learning, easier. Which he appreciates.
Recommended Weapons: Skyward Blade(Fivestar), Haran Geppaku(Fivestar), The Flute(Fourstar), Sacrificial Sword(Fourstar), Prized Isshen Blade(Fourstar) Recommended Artifacts: Blizzard Strayer, Noblesse Oblige, & Emblem of Severed Fate Talent Level Up: Teachings of Diligence, Bloodjade Branch, Whopperflower Nectar Ascension: Shivada Jade, Runic Fang, Glaze Lily, Whopperflower Nectar Bonus Talent: When making a revival dish(not an HP recovery dish, only those that revive a fallen character), you have a 15% chance of not spending one of the ingredients. Voice Lines/Animations Idle Line(1): “Things seem so peaceful, how nice.” Idle Line(2): “The breeze feels lovely.” Joining Team(1): “Now what do you have in store this time?” Joining Team(2): “Something new up your sleeve?” Joining Team (3): “Exciting.” Feelings About Ascension; Intro: “I feel more like myself, interesting.” Feelings About Ascension; Building Up: “The more powerful I get, the more I wonder where I have left to go.” Feelings About Ascension; Climax: “This should make things interesting, no?” Feelings About Ascension; Conclusion: “I haven’t felt this strong since…well, for a long time. It makes me feel like myself again. Thank you.” Birthday: “You know, birthdays are rather interesting. With each passing year, it’s likely you are so very different from what you were the year prior. On this day, you might say you’ve been reborn, if slightly. Fascinating to think about. Ah, forgive me, I lost myself for a moment. Here, I got you a gift, I hope you find it to your tastes.” --- Elemental Skill (1): “Watch it.” Elemental Skill (2): “Careful now.” Elemental Burst (1): “I don’t think so.” Light Hit Taken: “That was nothing.” Heavy Hit Taken (1): “It’ll take more than that to take me down.” Heavy Hit Taken (2): “Ugh, well now…” Low HP (1): “A bit to familiar.” Low HP (2): “(huff) I refuse to do this again.” Fallen (1): “I don’t want to…go..back..” Fallen (2): “Not again…” Fallen (3): “Please…don’t…” Opening Chest (1): “Interesting, what else is here?” Opening Chest (2): “I always enjoy rewards for my efforts.” Receiving A Gift(1): “Oo, what culinary skill. I would love nothing more than to be your taste tester.” Receiving A Gift(3): “Absolutely not. I really appreciate the thought but, no. I’d rather chew on old leather…” ----
Chat; Rigor Mortis: “Ugh, I feel stiff again. Hm? Oh, no, it has nothing to do with how I sleep, move. None of that. It’s…well, nevermind. You won’t have to worry about it.” Chat; Irony: “Funnily enough, I don’t like the cold. Sometimes I wonder if Celestia gave me my vision as an apology or as a taunt. I’ve grown used to frigid temperatures, but I most certainly don’t prefer it. I enjoy the warmth of the sun, of fresh tea, of a campfire. Ironic, isn’t it?” Chat; Symbolism: “I’ve always found it interesting how cultures choose their symbols and what said symbols represent. Some are obvious. A new moon relating to new life, the color black being associated with death. Some however puzzle me, and I ponder how we come to those conclusions. Oh well, I suppose that’s just how things are.” Chat; Work: “I used to work nonstop. Constantly on my feet, doing something, my mind only on success, dependability, and mora. My mother & father were much the same way. Now, I can’t imagine living like that again. There’s no joy in a life like that. So many experiences get missed when you’re only focused on business. Enjoyment should be a priority, at least to some degree.” --- Good Morning: “Good morning. Ah, yes, I know it’s early but I promise I have good reason. The view here is beautiful. The sunrise paints the sky beautiful colors, and I’d like to share that with you. Come, before we miss it!” Good Afternoon: “It’s time for a meal, I think. Would you like to accompany me to a restaurant or perhaps help me make a meal? Whatever you choose, I’ll enjoy it.” Good Evening: “The sun is setting. The sky is colored lilac and pale yellow. Before you go to rest, please, take a moment to appreciate it with me.” Good Night: “Good night, I hope your bed is at its most comfortable tonight. Perhaps, if we wake early enough, we’ll have time to find a spot to view Liyue as morning breaks.” When It Rains: “Well, that’s not ideal.” When Lightning Strikes: “Careful now, lightning has an impressive kill streak.” When It Snows: “You’d think I’d feel comfortable in this weather…I don’t.” When It’s Windy: “Sometimes I wonder how Morax and Barbatos interacted. I wonder what this would mean between them.” Favorite Food: “I mostly just enjoy anything that’s warm, feeling it shake off the cold of the day is relaxing. Oh! And shrimp, I like shrimp.” Least Favorite Food: “Flavor and texture are things I’m not picky about, but temperature is. While a cool glass of alcohol or water is good after a long day’s work, I cannot stand cold food. It feels so…depressing. I’m not one to judge preferences, but I’d much rather eat something steaming off the plate. I’ve experienced enough cold in my lifetimes.” --- Lixue’s Hobbies: “I have many things I do to ensure I never waste a minute of my day. But, I think what takes up most of my time is stone collecting. It requires a lot of searching, mining, and then a whole different process to make the stones look beautiful. Time consuming and enjoyable.” Lixue’s Troubles: “I’ve grown to like this body. I am more than grateful for the things it can do for me, for the chance I was given to try at life again. But…sometimes, I remember it isn’t mine. It feels more like a shell than myself in those moments…”
About Lixue; Past Life: “When I was in my original body, I worked in various different jobs. A waitress, a secretary, a saleswoman. One that I found paid the best however? Well…It’s not a tasteful job by any means. Paid well, but the method of work was rather, ruthless.” About Lixue; Duality: “Funnily enough, I nearly died once before. To fire. It left me badly scarred, I got used to people staring at me as a result. Still, I felt powerful after surviving. Proof that not even fire could kill me! Aha…little did I know how escaping death ensures it will take another swing at you right when you feel most invincible.” ---
Vision: “My vision is interesting to be sure. Sometimes, I loathe it. It feels taunting, like Celestia is poking at me, giving me the element of ice. Other times, I feel it’s a lesson. I’ve gained the ability to control what killed me. Now that? That feels good.” Something To Share: “Every once and awhile, this body will gain a random pain. There’s no cause for it, but it’s familiar, a pain I’ve felt before in my old body. Occasionally, the feeling of fire hitting skin. Other times, the sensation of frigid water filling my lungs. It’s…unpleasant, to say the least.” Interesting Things: “I get quite a few looks from passersby when I indulge myself in something I used to like. Such as makeup, jewels, perfume. I often forget that I…don’t look how I used to. No matter! I still enjoy these things and I will continue to do so.”
More About Lixue: “Hm? You’d like to know more about me? I’m flattered, really, but you’ll have to be more specific. Oh? A life motto I follow? Now that is a good question! Let me see…Ah, I have one. Living authentically is one of the purest paths to happiness, even if sometimes troublesome. You are you, regardless of others opinions or insecurities you may have.” More About Lixue: “I still struggle to fathom just how much has changed since my passing. However, so much has stayed the same. It’s fun to compare my memories to the present. Oh, but I advise you never to dwell too much on the past. Living in the moment is key to never wasting a minute of life.” More About Lixue: “Sometimes, I pass people who look just…vaguely familiar. It hits me that they’re probably descendants of those I used to know. Then I realize that I’ll never see those people again. I know where they’ve gone, but I have no intention of going back there myself. I can only hope they handled it better than I did…” More About Lixue: “Have you ever met someone who just seems so melancholic? Those who are so enraptured in sadness, past regrets, pain. It hurts to see them. I know why they might be there, but I do my best to not be that way. Things can end so fast. The last thing you want to do is leave your life and realize you didn’t let yourself enjoy a single moment. It’s more agony to leave unlived.”More About Lixue: “Traveler, if I may, I’d like to give a small piece of advice. Please, no matter what others may say, remain yourself. I know that seems a bit vague, but I mean it. So many pieces of society will try and define you before you can define yourself. Don’t let it.” ----
About The Geo Archon: “I remember how it was back then, how intense the influence of the Geo Archon, Morax, was. We looked to him for everything. Now, everyone seems just fine without him. I’m glad I got to see both. Though, sometimes, I still find myself looking to the old statues we have in his image as if they’ll speak to me. Give me guidance. It’s strange knowing I won’t get it.” About Ningguang: “Ah! Liyue’s most admired business woman. Rather impressive isn’t she? I often wonder what one would do with so much mora. Still, I think she and her associates could use a break, a vacation even. Surely they could afford a week to relax. It can’t be healthy to work that often.” About Qiqi: “(chuckles) The “zombie” girl? Yes, I’ve met her. She’s adorable. I see Celestia shared their humor with her as well, granting her a cryo vision. I see she’s rather forgetful…it worries me sometimes. Not only that she might forget something important to her, but also what it may mean for me. Still, it’s nice to have someone to relate to.” About Beidou: “Goodness, what I would give to have her hair. It’s glorious! A very beautiful and powerful woman. I sometimes wonder if I should ask her how she remains so attractive…then I remember I no longer look like a woman, and I stop myself for fear it comes across wrong.” About Yanfei: “The legal advisor! She’s very vivacious. Her energy is admirable, she’s quite good at diffusing situations too, a very good skill to have. I hope she can get more free time though. I’ve heard her complain once or twice about wanting to change careers…a rapper, if I remember right?” About Baizhu: “He’s…interesting? Whenever I stop by the pharmacy, usually to see Qiqi, he asks me a plethora of questions. How my physical state is, how my body heals wounds, if I still remember my past. I get the feeling he sees me as some project almost. Makes me worry for Qiqi sometimes…” About Xinyan: “Her music often gives me a headache because of the volume, but I enjoy it still! I just have to listen from a distance.” About Zhongli: “Who?” About Hu Tao: “Please, whatever you do, do NOT tell her about my state of existence. I fear she’ll customize me a casket and send me back to the spirit realm. As far as I’m concerned, we don’t know each other, and I intend to keep it that way.” About Xiao: “I met him once. Long ago, I mean, in my original body. The conversation we had slips my mind but he seems like a depressive type. It’s sad, really. I know he’s done so much for this nation and yet he can’t seem to enjoy himself. I hope you’ll find a way to ensure he smiles at least once and awhile. He deserves to.” About Ganyu: “I met her briefly once or twice, she seems exhausted most of the time. A result of overworking I’m sure. Poor girl deserves a long nap if you ask me.” About Yelan: “She’s quite the intimidating woman, I like her style. Get things done, the confidence. Her taste in jewelry is lovely too. She reminds me a bit of myself back in the day. Oh, gosh, I sound so old when I say things like that.” ---- Backstory (Trigger Warning; vaguely covers the idea of death and depression) Lixue Xueke was a young and intelligent girl born in a small village in Minlin, Liyue. As a child, she found herself feeling different from other children. Watching them play, be carefree. She considered it childish. Always feeling she was more mature than her peers and that her attitude would ensure she’d be more success as a result. After all, both her parents were heavily career oriented. She watched them work and work all their time away. Naturally, she assumed this was the attitude she needed to adopt in order to make it in life. She wanted success and notoriety. When she was ten, her aspirations nearly slipped away from her when she was caught in a fire that left her scarred mentally and physically. However, Lixue didn’t let it deter her. She wore it like a badge of honor, showing how she survived something so scary and she could still earn success.
By the time Lixue was in her late teens, she’d worked in dozens of jobs, and she was adept in all of them. Saving her mora intensely. Every once and awhile, those her age would insist she take a break, enjoy some time off, have fun. She declined each time. She always had something that needed done. Lixue wanted enough money to be more than comfortable. The only way to achieve that was to work nonstop and take opportunities. She became known for her nonstop work ethic.
Most of these jobs were simple and typical. Waitressing, working in paperwork, even in things like selling fabric. The young woman was respected and generally well liked, despite many not truly knowing her beyond her name and business ventures. Though, in her twenties, she became aware of something that paid very well. Morally questionable, but profitable. There were a select few scorned individuals willing to empty their mora stashes just to ensure someone else didn’t see the light of day again.
Lixue only accepted a few of these offers. Only when she felt the target deserved it. Rationalizing it to herself that she was helping the general public but removing these specific people, and why shouldn’t she be paid for such a service? It was at the age of twenty-three that it caught up with her. It was cold, Winter had hit particularly hard that year. She stalked after a man who was allegedly responsible for the death of three people and two children, because of negligence in his building tactics. It should’ve been an easy job. That’s how Lixue felt anyway. However, the man put up far more of a fight than she anticipated, resulting in her being tossed onto an ice-covered lake. Though a bit bruised, she stood up and intended to finish her job, but the sound of breaking frost was her only warning before she plunged into frigid water. Cold shock set in almost immediately, making it difficult to move as her limbs felt numb. An icy burn across her skin. And when she couldn’t even get close to the top, she felt it enter her lungs, fading away into the void-like water. Lixue was disoriented when she “awoke” in this water. Everything was cold, yet in a strange way, she could feel nothing. It was only when she noticed that she wasn’t required to breathe that it settled over her. She looked around, unable to see anything. The water was pitch black. As if she was dropped into nothingness. Silent and lonely. It stayed that way until Spring arrived. When the ice over the pond finally melted away and streams of sunlight gave her some direction, allowing her to fly to the top. Lixue found herself unable to feel the warmth of the sun, but she felt grateful that she could at least see it. She stayed around that area. Aimless and regretful, watching time pass slowly, things change, with her unable to experience it. She missed everything and loathed herself for never letting herself enjoy what time she had. Though Lixue lost time, it had been thirty years since her death. And on the night of Lantern Rite, she found a man walking dejectedly near the pond she died in. He looked sorrowful. She watched him sit on the ground and gaze at the inside of his forearm. The man cried though she didn’t know why. He muttered to himself, begging the sky to take him, for he didn’t have the strength himself to leave. Periwinkle eyes filled with lonesome sorrow. “Why would you wish for death?” Her ghostly voice spoke, not expecting for him to react. Needless to say, he was startled by the apparition. Not everyone could see ghosts, nor did everyone believe in them. Still, he seemed to accept it with an odd amount of relief. “You…you’re a ghost, yes?” He asked. Lixue nodded. “So, there is another side?” She nodded again. “You seem like a young and capable man, so I’m not sure why you’d want to lose that.” The spirit questioned. She watched his face fall, gaze dropping to the water in front of him. “I have nothing to live for anymore. My wife and my daughter are both gone, killed by the cruel actions of another. I wasn’t there to save them and now they are not here with me. I cannot find anything else in life that leads me to want to live. My only want is to be with them again. Yet, I am too cowardly to end my body.” The man relayed. Though her heart was no longer with her, instead decayed at the bottom of the pond, she felt it ache for him. Though most would encourage someone to live, she could see why he wouldn’t want to. Losing something so important in that way. And it was blatantly obvious he wasn't open to changing his mind. It struck her suddenly. Perhaps, just maybe, she could work out something for the both of them. She told him the idea, elated by his agreement.
It took magic, talismans. With each brushstroke filled with intention and desire. Neither were sure it would work, but both prayed to Celestia it would. After two weeks of preparations, they had to try, under a full moon, with there plan in motion. “Are you truly sure you want to do this?” Lixue asked him. Shi-Chen nodded vigorously. “If this gives me the chance to see my family again, while ensuring I am not so selfish to end a body healthy and capable, I cannot see a better option.” He insisted. Lixue nodded and gave a gentle smile, hoping it was consoling. "You are not selfish in the slightest, regardless." With the materials gathered and the moon high, they followed the steps as they studied them.
It was sudden and jarring. Lixue looked around in a daze before looking down at her hands…no, not her hands. Yet, by the law of what they had just done, they were her hands now. She looked up and saw the spirit of Shi-Chen. Both clearly processing what they’d just done. He smiled at her. “It worked!” He said proudly. Lixue touched her face. She could feel everything. The breeze, the fabric she wore, the green bangs that fell over her face, the slow pulse of a heart. She grinned back at him. “Thank you, truly!” He said. Lixue shook her head.“No, thank you. You’ve given me a new chance. I can live again, but a life truly worth living. I promise you, I will never forget this, and I will not take a single moment for granted ever again.” Speaking in a body with a new voice was jarring, but she meant every word. Shi-Chen slowly began to fade. “I’ll tell my daughter about you in fondness.” He promised before he disappeared in the breeze. Lixue exhaled. She savored each breath, each thump of her heart, every overwhelming sensation. She began walking. It was odd to do so now, after not needing to for so long. She even had to remind herself to blink. Lixue walked up a hill, reveling in being able to experience it all again. She came to stop near a cliff. Lanterns poured up into the sky from Liyue Harbor, a sight Lixue missed dearly. She looked up at the sky with new eyes and a grin she couldn’t shake. Her eyes caught something falling from the stars overhead. Quickly, she reached out her hands and caught the object. A blue and cold stone sent from Celestia, its light grew brighter as it hit her hand. She exhaled and looked at the sky again, holding the stone close to her chest. Taking a moment to comprehend it all. Everything she’d get to do, how she’d never miss a moment.
How nice it was to be alive.
