HEADCANON TIME BECAUSE THIS HAS BEEN FLOATING AROUND IN MY BRAIN FOR TOO LONG
-Lilith Clawthorne is one of those people with a ridiculous sleep schedule. She has an awful habit of getting wrapped up in her latest project and just…forgetting to go to bed. On more than one occasion, Eda has woken up and found her curled up on the couch in the exact same position she’d been in when the rest of the family went to sleep, just farther in her book. It's an issue.
-Because of this, she's also one of those people who can literally fall asleep anywhere. And I mean anywhere. She's like a cat. See: Lilith draping herself over porta-Hooty to take a nap in the CATTS hideout.
-After years of dealing with Lilith's erratic sleep schedule, her friends are just used to it at this point (although it drives her mother insane). Conversations along the lines of; "Hey, can you toss me a blanket? Lilith's napping in the windowsill again," or, "Lily passed out in the armchair. Should we try and move her or let her sleep?", or my personal favorite, "Lilith fell asleep in my lap. I can't move," are common amongst the adult members of the CATTS.
-Oh, did you think she didn't do this when she was head of the EC? THINK AGAIN. It's literally written into Steve's regular duties to go make sure Lilith hadn't fallen asleep at her desk again. It's also his job to either wake her up or carry her to bed (he usually does the latter. It's easier than trying to get her to go herself.).
-When Lilith and Darius were coven heads together, he took it upon himself to nag her about actually getting rest. Once, he nearly got himself arrested by charging into an EC meeting, throwing Lilith over his shoulder and running away with her after learning she hadn't slept in three days (the charges were dropped when Hettie Cutburn examined her and made her drink a sleeping draught right then and there, quote "before this foolish girl kills herself of exhaustion".)
-He's also one of those people radiates heat and knows it, and he uses it against her. More than one witch has walked into a consultation with Lilith only to find her curled up on the couch, dozing in Darius's arms* while he death-glares at them until they slowly (and quietly) back out of the room.
IN CONCLUSION: Lilith Clawthorne is a bit of a workaholic with an erratic sleep schedule to rival most teenagers. She's very tired.

Philip’s Witches before Wizards
Anyone remember these ruins from Witches before Wizards? I think this town was where Caleb and Evelyn originally lived (or frequented, being closer to their home than Bonesborough).
After all, we know these ruins are beyond Bonesborough, in a wooded area; As is Caleb and Evelyn’s archway, not too far from the Clawthorne household. During the Coven Day parade, an illusion of Belos is flanked by a cat statue, which we’ve seen only one other time…
…As a fake resident of this very town. Which leads me to believe that Adegast didn’t entirely make up the details he was filling in; There might’ve actually been a little cat demon that Philip saw there and remembered. How fitting; Shortly after discovering the Demon Realm, Philip and Luz encounter this town, before entering a secluded area where they make a crucial choice that influences how the rest of their journey goes; Philip decides to double down on his fantasy by sacrificing his own brother to his hero complex, whereas Luz chooses not to succumb to the fantasy.
I think Evelyn frequented this community, just as Eda visits Bonesborough frequently in the present day; And when Philip killed Caleb, she might’ve warned the people there of this murderer running around, which contributed to Philip having to skip towns. And the closest place to skedaddle was none other than Bonesborough…!
Presumably, the Boiling Isles doesn’t have social media at this point, nor a unified government; This would make it easier for Philip to avoid consequences by simply evading the local authorities and settling in a new place, as he explains to Luz. Kind of like the older days, when information didn’t travel as easily, so you didn’t have to worry as much about news of your notoriety following you.
At which point, Philip must’ve immediately enlisted Blue Fang for his failed expedition to the Titan’s skull, hence why the people of Bonesborough aren’t familiar with him; He’s only just arrived, and hasn’t made himself too acquainted with the local populace just yet. Red Fang and Green Fang hold a grudge over their brother’s death, but don’t seem to be aware Philip was possibly more than just callously careless.
And we see what a clever, charismatic liar Philip is; So he would’ve brushed over any rumors of misdeeds (painting the gruff Fang brothers as bullies, with himself as a meek victim) and appealed to the rest of Bonesborough, enough for them to accept his diary as a donation to their library. Afterwards, Philip may have left; Either because his victims got together and connected the dots, and/or he had missions elsewhere. Possibly the latter, since Luz doesn’t find any articles indicating Philip was ousted as a pariah, but for all we know Belos erased some history. He might’ve figured out that Luz and Lilith were time travelers during the Deadwardian Era, and set his journal up for them to find as a result.
But, back to the ruined town; There’s a good chance Philip remembered this place and went back to destroy it as Belos, probably as part of a staged false flag attack. A reminder of the worst day of his life, the realization that the Boiling Isles was NOT the adventure he expected or wanted... The specific place where Caleb was corrupted, where Evelyn regularly visited and lived… And by destroying this place, Philip sets up Adegast to exploit what’s left over, all for Luz to go through the same challenge there as Philip did, and emerge victorious. As for the Clawthornes, they ended up visiting what was the second-closest town, Bonesborough.

but he was above questioning his uncle so he went along with it with all the enthusiasm and charm he could muster
initially he tried to befriend you: flirting, joking and teasing as you lightly spar — even offering to train you himself if you join
but when you start fighting back properly he loses his bravado and focuses on standing his ground
you think he’s adorable so you don’t go too hard on him, but you do enough to keep pace with him: teasing, flirting and joking around as you fight time after time
calling your meetings ‘dates’ and calling him a ‘stalker’ lightheartedly when you keep on running into each other in not-so-coincidental ways
and, before long, he finds himself looking forward to them — not even talking about the coven and just enjoying the fights and returning your blows and jabs as good as he got
whenever you call him ‘cute’ or address him as ‘handsome’ his face flushes beneath his mask and he loses his bravado for a few moments — which you, and your mother, find adorable
and it’s after one of these meetings, when you bid him farewell and talk about maybe getting to see who you’re fighting next time, when he realises that he might be a little to fond of you
a little too excited about seeing you
a little too unwilling to hurt you
a little too desperate to have you join the coven
a little too flustered about the idea of showing you his face

[Plot]
Instead of Luz stumbling upon The Boiling Isles, she ends up in Vivziepop's version of Hell.
[Background Info]
•Luz is the only human within this AU while the others are Demons.
•Known Sinners:
Eda Clawthorne
Age: 17.
Species: Owl Demon.
Died: 1990s.
Cause of Death: Poisoned.
Sins: Gluttony.
Story: Eda was the most rebellious, yet troublesome teenager in all of Oregon from random pranks to Arson, though despite her delinquency she was a child prodigy getting A+ in all of her classes, but sadly all of that ended when she died during a soccer match due to cyanide poisoning. *cough* Lilith.
Lilith Clawthorne
Age: 18.
Species: Raven Demon.
Died: 1990s
Cause of Death: Suicide.
Sins: Envy.
Story: Lilith is the oldest sister of Eda Clawthorne who was always trying to get attention or praise from her peers and parents, but yet she never did due to her younger sister being "better than her" and so one day she slipped poison into Eda's water bottle and instantly regretted after Eda told her that she was the best sister in the world. After Eda's death, Lilith had suffered a great ammount of guilt and despair to the point where she ended her own life.
Philip "Belos" Whitebane
Age: 50.
Species: Deer Demon.
Died: 1600s.
Cause of Death: Hanged.
Sins: Pride.
Story: Belos, one of the most powerful and fearful overlord hell has ever witnessed. In his life he was known as a Witch Hunter General during the witch trials similar to Salem, but what the pilgrims didn't know, until later on, that he was actually an Occultist and was later hanged for his crimes.
Raine Whispers.
Age: 17.
Species: Bat Demon.
Died: 1967.
Cause of Death: Shot during Flower Power.
Sins: Hersey *Witchcraft*.
Story: Raine was born and raised by pagans in a commune so throughout their whole life they were homeschooled by their parents, learning herbology along with other pagan traditions. During their high school years they would participate in protests and the last one they attended was Flower Power".

Like in canon, the company provides itself with accessories with home security and weaponry along with some robotics. Blight Industries is considered to be one of the most popular companies in hell. Supplying not just for Sinners and Hellborns, but also the Overlords and Demonic Loyalty of Hell.
•King is a Hellhound, Eda and Raine found him in a cardboard box in an alley when he was only a pup and they both decided upon themselves to take him ate their place and raise him. Basically the same way in "Echoes of the Past" but different.
•Perry Porter, Gus's dad, is still a field reporter in this and he works for 666 News. Though the only work associate he has is Tom, because Katie Killjoy is a total bitch to him due to being an Imp.
•In this AU Amity and Willow are still friends, but after confronting her bitch of a mother Amity decided to runaway to the Pride Ring with Willow, also Gilbert and Harvey fostered Amity.
•All the palisman in this AU are Hell-Fauna, which are Demonic versions of animals.
•The Collector in this AU is renamed Collie Morningstar and they are the youngest child of Lucifer and Lilith Morningstar along with the baby sibling of Charlie Morningstar and the archivists who are also in this AU as the children of Morningstar, but unlike the archivists Charlie is the only sibling that cares for Collie. *Also since the archivists didn't have any names in "Fort the Future" or "Watching and Dreaming" so the names I gave them are Salem, Basil, Aaren, Draco.
•The Nine Coven Leaders in this AU are Overlords.
•When humans, like Luz, are stuck in Hell for long periods of time that they begin to turn into a demon.
•After Lilith died she bumped into Eda and tried to apologize for what she did to her which of course didn't end well. For about several years Lilith has been jumping from job to job until she met Flora D'splora, also a Sinner, who hired Lilith as her assistant at the Museum of History of Demonic.
•Hunter is one of the many Imps Belos took in (for bad reasons of course, Because it's belos after all).
•Originally Willow and her dad's were from the Wrath Ring, then they moved to Greed due to Harvey having a job at Blight Industries which lasted for a little while until Odalia fired him after due to Amity not cutting ties with Willow which made them move to Pride.
•This AU mostly takes place in the Pride Ring, within a town called Malum which is just outside of Pentagram City just a few minutes away.
•Belo's true demonic form would be his kaiju form from "Watching and Dreaming" and his normal form would be a mix between his regular emperor self and his cursed self.
•Eda has trouble controlling her true demonic form every now and then just like how she had trouble controlling her curse in canon. Her true demonic form is the same as her Owl Beast form.
•Hooty is still hooty. (🦉 Hooty Hoot 🦉)
•Hexisde is also in this AU, but it's renamed "Hexside School District." Which is surprisingly one of the best schools in hell for Hellborns, better than Glandus and St Epidermis.
•Even though there's no coven system, each character has their own set of different demonic abilities and powers.
•Luz's Demon form is that same as her titan form, but instead of her witch outfit she's in her default clothes which are a bit torn due to her transformation.
•Eda and Raine own a store called "The Owl Nest" that sells trinkets, crystals, charms, herbs *including cannabis*, and other types of goods.

ngl i rly love the idea of both philip AND caleb being evil assholes
imagine if caleb wanted to wipe out humanity bc his view of them had become so warped after growing up in a town full of witch hunters, so he had this twisted desire to protect witchkind by killing all humans (sound familiar?)
i also like to think caleb initially kept up his "whoa calm down bro" facade during the knife fight but then eventually dropped it and told philip "i shouldve killed you before i left" and went absolutely apeshit on him
(i dont think philip wouldve ever known abt calebs hatred of humanity tho bc imo caleb wouldve been smart enough to not tell him. so philip attacking caleb was still rooted solely on his anti-witch bigotry and does NOT make him a "hero" whatsoever lol)
ik (iirc) dana said evelyn chose caleb bc he seemed to be the nicest person in gravesfield but 1. caleb wouldve been hiding his hatred of humanity for obvious reasons and 2. we dont know shit abt evelyn herself, for all we know her standards couldve been "someone who wouldnt kill a witch on sight"
(speaking of evelyn i personally dont think she was evil in any way. i hc her as more of a batshit chaotic neutral character who did whatever she wanted as long as its fun anyways)
in this case caleb would be interesting foils to philip (anti-human vs anti-witch), hunter (who has an affinity to the human realm and is close to some humans like luz and camila) and the clawthorne sisters (both eda and lilith are flawed but still ultimately good ppl. both the clawthornes and the wittebanes subvert the "good sibling evil sibling" trope this way)
idk exactly what caleb and flapjacks relationship wouldve been like tho they had to have been close to some degree right? but at the same time i think flapjack had always disagreed with calebs anti-human sentiments but was afraid to actively oppose him, and ofc flap was happy that hunter was able to befriend a human and enjoy the human realm
speaking of hunter i. i was gonna say "imagine if hunter found out abt caleb wanting to wipe out humanity lol so angsty" but tbh i think that would just be TOO traumatic to him (even for an angst enjoyer like me) like he straight up wont be able to recover from that imo. or at least take a REALLY long time to recover but either way i dont think he should learn abt that kinda stuff. i do think it would be interesting if luz, eda and lilith found out tho
i also originally had the hc that caleb built the cat eye portal with the purpose of ambushing gravesfield once he was ready, but after the papa titan eye reveal in wad im not even sure who built that portal anymore- well either way caleb still wouldve wanted to build A portal ig (not the other one that led to the clawthorne house, i think that was probably evelyns)
also. the irony of both caleb and philip dying as smth that theyve hated (caleb died as a human and philip died as a "witch/demon", not literally the species in philips case but more luzs definition of "powerful magic user", and we can all agree that monster philip is demonic). i do think caleb was trying to find ways to turn himself into a real witch but philip killed him before he could succeed

things i scripted into my toh dr that either weren't in the show or didn't get touched on because for some reason i'm PUMPED rn:
*note- if you see last names in here that you don't recognize, in all likelihood the character didn't have a last name and i made one up
*also please don't crucify me in the replies if you see these people differently than i do this is specific to my interpretation of them and therefore specific to my DR
houses at hexside! i wanted it to be a bit like hogwarts and exist adjacently, but i didn't want the houses to be exactly the same so i made my own!! the houses are sphinx, chimera, griffin, dragon, pegasus, and kelpie
sphinx house- people in sphinx house tend to be optimistic, kind-hearted, charismatic, and quite outspoken. they work best on teams and tend to study better in groups! this house is most likely to spawn flyer derby players and beastkeepers (examples of people in sphinx house: skara flutter)
chimera house- ambiverted people who are able to blend in and get along very well with others. a consequence of this is that sometimes they can be easily influenced by others and what they think. this house is likely to spawn illusionists and constructionists. they work well on teams and are good at improvising. they tend to be on the shyer side and are usually very polite people (examples of people in chimera house: willow park, matt tholomule, edric blight, lilith clawthorne)
griffin house- extraverted aggressors who are very passionate about their interests, people from this house are often aggressors or come off as intimidating with very strong personalities. this house is most likely to spawn professional grudgby or quidditch players. it's not the most academic house, but it’s spawned a few very good scientists and businesspeople. they usually don’t think before they speak tho lol. everything about griffin house students involves very spur-of-the-moment, impulsive behaviour (examples of people in griffin house: amelia durand, boscha bennett, eda clawthorne)
dragon house- this is the house that i'm in!! introverts who are very knowledgable and powerful. they’re not pacifists by any means, but are generally not aggressors either unless threatened. this house is likely to spawn well-rounded students who excel in most fields, but it's also the most likely house to spawn gifted kid burnout (examples of people in dragon house: me, amity blight, raine whispers, hunter wittebane-noceda)
pegasus house- peacemakers and introverts with a lot of love to give, generally very smart and caring of others, always think before they speak and often end up being the ones to resolve arguments between others, generally considered to be the “mom friend” or the heart of their friend group, most likely to spawn healers or beastkeepers (examples of people in pegasus house: augustus porter, luz noceda, emira blight)
kelpie house- usually keep-to-themselves sort of people, whether thats their house or themself specifically. they get overwhelmed in bigger groups of people, and prefer to be in quiet areas either on their own or with a small group of close friends. they're most likely to be potion masters or botanists. this house spawns two kinds of people- the nicest, chillest person you’ll ever meet, or rich elitist scumbag. these students often struggle to make meaningful connections with others, despite (usually) being very kind and honest people as they definitely work better by themselves and don’t understand how to work with a team (examples of people in kelpie house: cat delisle, alador blight, darius deamonne)
lots of school sports teams!! obviously we have grudgby (i'm actually the star player! i can't remember if i've actually mentioned that or not), and willow introduces flyer derby eventually, but we also have quidditch (amelia is captain)
we do actually have a student council in my DR- skara is studco president and amity is her campaign manager and vice president (boscha thinks it's for nerds and doesn't participate, but she still goes to the meetings because all her friends do, me included)
social medias!! obviously penstagram = instagram, but i also added that icktok = tiktok and bootube = youtube (i've also seen someone on tiktok script that bitter = twitter but i don't remember who it was and tbh i don't really use twitter anyways bc i'm afraid of it)
on bootube we have access to all human youtube videos, but humans don't have access to bootube videos- so we can absolutely watch buzzfeed unsolved with our friends, but when i post goofyass videos on bootube, humans can't see them lmao
youtube definitely grew and evolved, but bootube kind of stayed in that 2015-2016 oreo challenge, hide and seek in ikea, bean-boozled challenge era. the golden era imo
i'm literally begging you to send me asks about the hexside houses i'm foaming at the mouth i'm so excited to talk about them i've already started making a uquiz i'll post it when i'm done
i'm also gonna make a bunch of separate posts about my friend group since most of my friends didn't get very many/any speaking lines in the show

Jacob Hopkins, The Collector, Papa Titan, Osran, Steve, Emperor’s Coven members, Kikimora, Hunter, and Belos are the same.
Location Changes
The Dragon house is located outside of Latissa, deep in the woods. It’s a treehouse with a spiral staircase around the tree to the top. It’s situated on one of the bigger trees in the forest and connects to other buildings in the trees with bridges.
Hexside is switched out for Glandus High, along with the students, teachers, and principal. The detention track exists here as well as a separate classroom.
Everything that happened in Bonesburough now happens in Latissa, and vice versa, the coven scouts are just a bit more prominent.
The hill that Raine and Eda sit on is swapped with a cave in the woods where Vitimir and Robyn hung out in school and later in adulthood.
Blight Industries and the Blight Manor are switched out for Zamora Technology and the Zamora Estate.
The Looking Glass Ruins are swapped out for a jungle temple that is the resting place for the most powerful Bards. It holds their most powerful instruments and guarded by a large manticore. It is located east of the Titan’s skull on the shoulder.
Series Changes
Akari would have a single father instead of a single mother. His name is Mamoru Hisakawa. They also have a tradition for the other parent’s birthday since they passed away.
Orion would be in the Oracle track with Kenzie before being changed to the Healing Track. Hettie did this because she didn’t want him to be ostracized for being a Cutburn.
Robyn turns into an Eastern dragon when cursed and into a Dragonborn when he comes to terms with his curse.
Robyn gets his elixirs from his brother Huxley, who makes and sells them in Latissa at his own stand.
Instead, we experience how Glandus would have handled the greater basilisk if they had a human at their school. They win in the end.
Wilder cursed Robyn because he thought it would encourage him to join a coven and get healed. It backfired very quickly and horribly.
Robyn, in his cursed form, injured Alto to the point of making him unable to play the violin and make instruments.
Wilder turns into a wyvern when cursed (larger than Robyn’s cursed form) and into a Dragonborn in the epilogue.
In flashback sequences with the Long family, Cillian and Huxley are present, but do not speak (Robyn’s other brothers).
Cillian comes to the Dragon House instead of Giselle and tries his own methods to drive out Robyn’s curse. He wants to try and fix everything because he’s the oldest.
Flashback moments with Robyn and Vitimir are centered around potion-making and playing hooky with Vitimir’s work (Platonic with a few romance moments, not dating).
The BATTs are renamed to PATs (Potions Against Tyranny) and CATTs are renamed to CATs (Covens Against Tyranny).
When fighting against Hettie and Mason, Robyn and Vitimir create a ‘super potion’ that will stun their attackers when coming in contact with Robyn’s curse via playing the violin.
IFWOT/HECK is not how Robyn and Vitimir meet. Instead, they meet in school where Robyn approaches Vitimir. Darius (same age as them) and Hexside’s Grudgby team is there for a game and problems ensue.
Orion and Hunter are not shipped together, just friends/brotherly who bond when the Emperor’s Coven arrives at Glandus to brand the students. Orion is 13 years old, Hunter is 16 years old.
Robyn’s human disguise name is Gerald. He hides his ears and horns with a big cowl and his tail is hooked to his belt like a chain.
Darius begrudgingly plays the part of Robyn in the Collector’s “Dragon House” game and makes fun of him for liking Potion brewers.
Kikimora goes to Glandus disguised as Miki and her Abomatron as Roka, students from St Epiderm. She builds her empire there with those students.
Hunter, with Orion, would be greeted by Mason and Hettie when everyone is turned back to normal.
Hettie, Mason, and Vitimir team up with Zamora Technology and Blight Industries to find a way to remove the sigils. It turns out successful.
Unchanged Parts
Gravesfield is still the location of the portal door, therefore Akari and her dad live there and Akari goes to school there.
The portal door is found buried in the ground.
Belos’ past (whatever we have of it) is the same with Caleb and Evelyn, and slowly taking over the Isles with the grim walkers he made with Caleb’s dead body.
The Emperor's Castle, the Conformatorium, and the Archives locations do not change.
Training on the Knee still happens, just with Akari, Robyn, Kenzie, and and Kenzie’s cousins.
Palisman Adoption Day still happens, just at Glandus High.
Time-traveling to the past to meet Philip Wittebane with Akari and Wilder.
The Titan Trappers exist and still want to look for the last Titan.
Hunter leaves the Emperor’s Coven after going through Belos’ mind and learning about his true intentions.
More students start learning multitrack.
Hunter tells the school about Belos’ Draining Spell plans.
The Coven heads still fight on the Day of Unity, the roles are just swapped.
No matter how, Vitimir’s hat gets cut in half at the Day of Unity.
Robyn’s arm gets pulled off during the Draining Spell.
Belos enlisted the help of the Collector for the Draining Spell, and did not keep his end of the deal.
S3E1’s events happen the same way.
The Archives get built over the Titan’s head.
The Collector’s backstory is the same.
The Titan gives the human his remaining powers to help stop Belos.
Dell still gets an apprentice and hits his goal to replenish the palistrom trees with the Bat Queen.

Of the Glandus Group: Orion is the youngest (13), then Akari (14), Kenzie (14), then Yule (15), and Hunter is the oldest (16).
Vitimir uses his corrosive breath to fight against the spreading mold from Belos when he possesses the Titan’s heart.
Kenzie’s cousins live in the Palm Stings, but enjoy visiting once in a while to bug their cousin and help their aunt and uncle.
Akari and Kenzie confess to each other and start dating after Scaly tries to get them together.
Akari also comes out to her dad as bisexual and is accepted.
Kenzie has a job at Latissa Inn at the Front desk and the Inn’s IT witch. At Zamora Tech, she tests out their beta versions of new projects.
She dyes her hair from dirty blonde to Oracle purple after she loses her job for leaving her post. Her real hair color is black.
Scaly is still an anomaly to the Glandus group and to Robyn, despite being a house demon.
During the Apocalypse:
Most of the Boiling Isles inhabitants were turned into puppets.
The Collector and Malik play “The Dragon House” game.
Robyn, Wilder, and Malik stay together as the Collector thinks Robyn is still in his cursed form.
Glandus High is being run by the students and Bria with “Miki” helping her.
The Glandus Group was thrown into the Human realm, then found a way back to the Demon Realm.
Darius plays Robyn in “The Dragon House” game until he steps out of line and gets turned into a puppet by the Collector.
Darius, Raine, and Eberwolf are the three who want the throne while the Isles is being rebuilt and are scared off by Hettie and Mason. Eberwolf sneaks back to touch the throne before a scalpel is thrown at him.
Time-skip stuff:
Akari and Ree graduate high school and Akari goes to the Boiling Isles for College (all majors).
Orion is a nurse at his mother’s clinic taking on a Dr. Frankenstein role and part-time Flyer Derby player.
Hunter works with Alto to create instruments that younger witches can play.
Alto and Giselle are seen at their work with Orion and Hunter.
Wilder and Scaly get to work at the University of Wild Magic for Abominations. Wilder also gets his Dragonborn form.
Kenzie works at Zamora Tech with her (now divorced) father as head engineer.
The Glandus Principal is still at Glandus, mostly diminishing its student rules.
Vitimir, Hettie, and Mason collaborated with Blight Industries to help create a machine that removes sigils.
The Manticore from the Jungle Temple is living peacefully, now with cubs.
Yule is a big musician who’s released a few albums.
Robyn works with his brother Huxley to produce an elixir that helps ailments and lasts longer.
Robyn gains a mechanical arm to replace his disintegrated one, made by Zamora Tech.
Vitimir gets a palisman.
The group celebrates Akari’s birthday as she starts college in the Boiling Isles.
Malik shows Akari his new light glyph.

TOH Werebeasts AU
It’s basically a Werewolf AU but with more than just Werewolves.
The setting is fantasy medieval/middle ages, with kingdoms, knights and magic. While most of the canon human characters remain as humans, the canon witch/demon characters are either humans or werebeasts depending on what role they play. The witch characters that are now humans still have magic powers, but are called Mages.
Werebeasts are a race of beings that can shift between a humanoid form and beast form. They also have and in-between form that’s mix of their humanoid and beast forms. Werebeasts in their humanoid form are recognized by their pointed ears.
Werebeasts’ are either based on a single animal or are a mix of several. What type of animal or animal-mix the Beast Forms are based on depends on family relations and the Werebeasts’ individuality. For example, all the Clawthornes have bird-based Beast forms, but the type of bird each member is it’s different: Eda - owl, Lilith - raven, Gwen - hawk, Dell - yellow cardinal.
All Werebeasts are quadrupedal in their Beast Forms and somewhat mammalian-like even if their are based on bird, insects, or reptiles. They are also much larger than their animal counterparts, even when the animal is usually small.
Although most Werebeasts are born, humans are capable of becoming Werebeasts by way of a magic ritual. The ritual itself is not common knowledge and many Werebeasts think it’s a legend (it’s not).
Werebeasts are often persecuted by humans, so many of them either live in isolation or try to blend in. There are towns and villages that happily accept Werebeasts living amongst them.
Philip/Belos is a powerful lord who seeks to exterminate all the Werebeasts because his brother fell in love with one. Although he only controls a single region, he has been known to secretly send mercenaries and bounty hunter into ‘Werebeast Friendly’ regions to hunt down any Werebeasts seeking refuge.
Eda's curse in this AU is a condition some Werebeasts have that causes them to suddenly give in to their animal instincts and become feral. The condition is often looked down by other Werebeasts despite it being manageable with the right medication. She lives in a house deep in the woods bordering a Werebeast Friendly town.
King is Beast-Locked, a rare condition that makes him unable to take on a humanoid form so he is locked into the form of a beast - though he can take on an inbetween form. Beast-Locked Werebeasts are also often looked down upon as defective.
Luz is the only apparent survivor of a village that was destroyed in a monster attack; she was found and adopted by Eda. Although Luz starts out as human, she would eventually become a Werebeast.
Raine is Eda’s ex who has been working to save other Werebeasts from being killed. They saved the BATTs (Derwin, Katya, and Amber) after their families got killed, and practically adopted the three. While looking for a new home, they reunite with Eda and join her “pack.” The two eventually rekindle their romance.
Hunter is not a Grimwalker, but rather, a Werebeast and the biological son of Caleb Witterbane and Evelyn Clawthorne (who is Eda’s cousin in this AU). His uncle Philip murdered his parents and kidnapped him when he was a baby. Philip then proceeded to use magic to seal away Hunter’s Beast Form and pass him off as a full-human, lying to Hunter that his parents were killed by Werebeasts. Hunter eventually finds out the truth and unseals his Beast Form.
Here is a list of some of the characters that are Werebeasts and what animal/animal mix they are based on:
Eda is an Own Beast like in canon, though her face in Beast Form is more animalistic.
Raine is a fox/bat hybrid in reference to their fox Palisman and to reference the BATTs.
Luz’s eventual Beast Form is a mix of otter, cat, and snake.
King is an undetermined canine hybrid. Instead of a skull head, the upper part of his head has white fur and his left ear has a the upper half missing.
Amber is a full on Bat Beast because she already had bat traits in canon; Katya is a bat/cat hybrid in reference to her name starting with ‘Kat’ and to reference the CATTs; Derwin is a bat/dog hybrid for not particular reason except that I wanted him to be that.
Amity is a Cat Beast to reference her cat Palisman. She resembles a housecat but is the size of a big cat like a leopard or a lion.
Willow is a Bee Beast, essentially a Bee-version of the Owl Beast. This is a reference to her bee Palisman.
Gus is a Chameleon Beast, in reference to his chameleon Palisman.
Hunter is a red cardinal/wolf hybrid to reference his (first) Palisman and his love of wolves. Evelyn was a Red Cardinal Beast while Caleb was a human who became a Wolf Beast.
Lilith, Gwen, and Dell are bird based beast in reference to their canon Palismen.

Since the new owl house episode is on Saturday, I feel like I should share my prediction on what Luz’s new palisman is going to be, considering the last episode kinda left off with Luz being given the chance to finally carve her palisman. So what do I think her new palisman is going to be? My answer is: a bat. And I’ll explain why, because it seems like we’ve been getting a lot of foreshadowing that seemingly leads to this theory. I’m sure there’s a lot more foreshadowing that I’m missing, but for right now I’m only going to point out 3 things in the show that might lead to this theory being correct. So grab some snack and get comfy, because we’re gonna be here for a while. Let’s begin.
1. Luz’s phone case.
If some of you haven’t noticed, Luz’s phone case is a bat. This is shown in the very early episodes of season one, as she is seen having it on hand multiple times throughout the show. I find it very interesting that Luz’s phone case is a bat, because it shows that she deliberately chose a bat themed phone case for her phone. This shows that Luz has an interest in bats. Don’t believe me? Let’s move onto to point number 2 then.
2. The bat and the cat.
In the episode, “Eclipse Lake” it is shown that Amity and Luz have a special way of communicating with each other. Earlier in this episode, it is revealed that Amity has a cat palisman named “Ghost” who is an all white cat. And here, we can see that an all white cat is featured as Amity’s avatar, and we know this because it’s a reference to her palisman but also because she’s not the one texting Luz. Luz is texting Amity. So this implies that Luz again deliberately chose a bat as her avatar while texting Amity.
3. Luz’s costume.
Now I feel I should also mention this art that the creator posted on Twitter a while ago, because it’s very interesting that she drew Luz in a bat costume instead of the typical skeleton, zombie, or witch outfit. I feel like this could be foreshadowing that Luz has more of a connection to bats than what we previously thought. While yes she loves otters, it isn’t mentioned in the show was much as bats are.
Now that I’ve discussed my main points, I figured it’s time to explain why I think Luz’s palisman is going to be a bat. When we see Eda’s family, we notice that each of them appear to have a bird palisman. Eda with an owl, Lilith with a raven(?), Gwendolyn with a hawk, and Eda’s father with a yellow cardinal. And in the more recent season, we see that Eda sees Luz and King as her family, as she has referred to them as “her kids” multiple times throughout season two. Even Luz, who already has a mom, seems to see Eda, King, and Lilith as her found family, as she calls Lilith “cool aunt Lilith” and allows King to call her “his sister” as well. So it seems that Luz sees herself as both a Noceda and a Clawthorne. Now how does this relate to Luz’s palisman? Well, a bat is a creature that, upon first glance, looks like a hybrid between a bird and a rodent. And most people often misjudge bats, and see them as terrifying creatures that roam the night skies. See what I’m getting at? Just like a bat being compared to a rodent and a bird, Luz isn’t a Noceda or a Clawthorne. She’s a combination of the two, and has been misjudged and viewed as “weird” many times before. So it seems like Luz has a connection to bats because, in a way, she seems to relate to them, and I think that’s why there’s so many hints in the show that prove that. So, that concludes my theory for today. Even if Luz’s palisman isn’t a bat, it’s nice to point out how Luz has more of a hidden connection to bats. Symbolically and literally, I mean. Either way, I’m excited to see the next episode on Saturday!

Lilith is either going to be gaster or the parts of sans that are mysterious. Judges you at the hallway and knows about timeliness and stuff, has the strange machine in her basement. I think. This is the part that I'm flip flopping on. I want her to still curse Eda, maybe she used to be a royal scientist and it was an experiment gone wrong and she was fired. (Hunter will be the next royal scientist aka the alphys in this au) im not sure, I'm still figuring her out. Honestly making something different with her and not confining her to one character could be interesting
I also thought about (OWL HOUSE FINALE SPOILERS) Papa titan being gaster, and when luz dies during the final battle against the collector (asriel) she will be revived by papa titan like in the finale in order to defeat him
Then Phillip/belos is an amalgamate. He was the human who caused the war and trapped them underground, him included, and after the witches asked him to use his human soul to set them free he refused, so they kept him in the lab to use his determination. Theyve kelt him alive and stripped him of his determination for so long and ends up the goopy mess
Raine will be Asgore. The clawthornes I'm thinking were the royal family but after Lilith was fired and Eda fled the castle to the ruins, Raine was left with the task to rule. They've got the "I'm doing this because I have to" attitude
Some bonus ones for fun:
Willow is undyne. She wants to prove that she's strong and take the humans soul herself. Of course until her childhood friend amity insists the human doesn't deserve to have her soul taken. She recognizes how much the human has changed amity into a better person.
Hunter is Alphys. He is the "scientific teen protigy". Alphys has her anime, hunter has his wolves. Let the fursona jokes commence. Hes also got a huge crush on willow and everhone knows it but her. He is the one that caused belos to become goopy by desperately trying to keep him alive to save all the witches and demons. He is ashamed of his failure and thinks he will be cast out for it like Lilith was
Gus will be mettaton. Using his showman skills, he puts luz to the test by having her complete illusion based challenges. Like which object is a bomb covered by an illusion, stuff like that. I'm thinking he wanted to be known for more than his smarts, so he used his dad's TV job as an advantage
Bocha will be in muffets place. "WHAT? How dare you not support the fund of the local grudgby team. What are you? STINGY???"
Kikimora can be mad dummy/mew mew. What if instead of gaining a new body through an anime doll, kikimora becomes tall from an abomination soldier that luz made into a cat face. "It's perfect" ☆u☆

I actually LOVE Evelyn and Caleb comparisons in Hunter ships, but they have to be well written and natural. It would be one thing if h/l shippers were like, writing fics where they actually built up to a situation where a comparison between Evelyn and Willow made sense, but it seems like they’d rather just pretend “uh Willow and Evelyn are so similar because uh… they’re both witches, and also girls?”
Oh, yeah, you're preaching to the choir here. I absolutely ADORE Caleb and Evelyn comparisons for Hunter ships, especially because Cat and Hunter are MAJOR comparisons to their predecessors with Hunter being Caleb's Grimwalker (obv), but technically still sort of a witch while Cat is a Clawthorne (by adoption like Luz), but is technically still sort of a human. Add in the flavor text that Philip idolizes her to the point of almost making her out to be Saint-like due to the fact that she's a hunter and is "ridding the human realm of demons and witches and evils" just like he tried to do back in his time & is doing presently in the Boiling Isles, only for him to find out she's Just Like Evelyn, still a wild witch a la Luz, and has stolen his "brother" away yet again. It's just like Belos' life is a series of going "Oh God dammit, not again how does this keep happening" lmao. But that is a good comparison. I would even go so far as to say Hunter and Luz (platonically, I Do Not Ship like that) are a really good Evelyn and Caleb comparison for the exact same reason (minus the flavor text lmao).
But my own life aside, that is literally what they're doing. I once saw someone say a H/l tried to make a Willow & Evelyn comparison based on Willow's Halloween costume & the fact that in Masha's story the cut-out of Evelyn has a demon tail and classic witch outfit despite that being a nasty and untrue caricature of her in the first place, meant to look insulting to Evelyn lmfao. The most they've got is being witches and girls. I know we don't know anything really about Evelyn's personality other than being in love with Caleb and being a wild witch, but I'd wager to say she was probably a lot like Eda considering that's what the half a second shot of her design most resembled & the fact that Belos hunted Eda down so hard and disposed of Lilith once he'd gotten her & had her set to be petrified. It's almost like he wanted her dead just based on the fact that she reminded him of Evelyn.

I'm not gonna be recovering from this episode this was like 50 consecutive punches to the face like
Okay the Emperor's Coven is hunting them to the point of having wanted posters, Lilith feels like she has to treat King as a god, Eda and Luz go to get King's stuffed animal back, Eda is secretly worried for Luz and King's safety, King meets Steve and they go on a journey of self-discovery, Eda speaks with Raine, Terra is a bitch, King finds some inner peace, Steve reveals he has a face, Eda and Luz fight, the rebels pretend to take them away to lock them up, the rebels join up with the Clawthornes, Luz finally meets Raine, the rebels are named The CATS, Eda gives Luz the palistrom wood so she can finally carve her palisman, the Day of Unity is in 2 days. Also King seems to have a connection with the Collector in some way and the Collector rejoices over not being alone anymore. All in 22 minutes!

Headcanon about Kaeloo's characters family :
Summary of my story about the characters's parents:
Kaeloo, Mr Cat and Stumpy’s parents , Pretty and Eugly’s mother, Olaf’s father and the scientist who “built” QQ were all at SmileyLand before their children. They remained there until their teens (17 years of age). After a big fight , they were all expelled from Smileyland and continued on their lives . Stumpy’s mother (Puzzle) was the caretaker at the time . After this disaster , Smileyland made a rule to be a place that would take children up to the age of 14 .
Smileyland is a pocket dimension that welcomes some children who have a disastrous childhood, to give them a new chance. It chooses the first resident to be the guardian . It can host from 4 to 10 people max. Only the guardian has the keys to enter and exit at will, but the other residents can borrow the key (if the guard allows it)
Kaeloo:
Canon: Many cousins , (Kevin , Kurt , Karl), Uncle and Aunt , (Jack , Karine , Klaus , Ernest). We don’t know anything about her parents . His cousins are quite aggressive . There seems to be a lot of masculine toxicity in the family , or at least a « beat up the weekers » kind of behavior . They all seem to be quite violent (except Kevin) and annoy Kaeloo because she is too “weak.”
Interpretation of her story in “SOJ What Does Your Father Do? “: Kaeloo says that she has a big family and that she had a loving father who unfortunately died before she could meet him, since it is revealed at the end of the episode that the characters are lying, so the opposite of what kaeloo said is probably the truth : Kaeloo is an only child, who would have dreamed of having company with siblings, for me, she was a very lonely child . For his father , he is either dead or not very present . But in any case , she would have loved to have a loving father . Nothing is said about their Mother.
Headcanon: on her mother’s side (and thus the only part of the family she knows), their name starts with a K (Karine/Klaus) the others are the husbands and wives. It is a large family that acts like a mafia . Kaeloo’s mother (Koralia) is a high-ranking member of their family (either chief or chief assistant) and so the family members put a lot of pressure on Kaeloo (who by refusing to be violent, seems to disappoint a part of that family). She is an only child, her mother is very fond of discipline and authority, she wants Kaeloo to stop being overly sensitive. Kaeloo had personal tutors , so he did not go to school and never had any real friends . Kaeloo ran away from home after an argument with her mother because she did not meet Koralia’s high expectations.
Koralia is Kaeloo’s mother , and she wants her to be less sensitive and more mature , which sadly caused Kaeloo to repress her emotions . Koralia herself was exposed to the same treatment as a child . She is the eldest of her family , so she had a lot of pressure for being strong and perfect . She is disciplined , serious , and wants everything to be perfect . When she was young , she was just as serious , but more relaxed and kind . She was best friends with Pretty and Eugly’s mother (Darling) and Mister Chat’s (Lola). She did not like Lola that much , but she was happy to have friends who accepted her as she is – refined and studious . Like Pretty and Eugly , the Trio arrived later than the others in Smileyland .

Higikae is Kaeloo’s father , and he was not present in her life because of Koralia’s family , who refused to let Kaeloo know about him . Despite the fact that they had already begun to make their life plans , Koralia had to dump him before Kaeloo was born .Higikae , still tries to be in his life by sending cards or gifts (all intercepted by the family and Koralia , who refuses to let Kaeloo know him). Higikae claims that this does not affect him, but actually his greatest desire is to reconnect with his child. He is a rich kid who runs a transport company in Japan . He does not work hard , he spends his days at home playing video games . He is immature , hypocritical , and resentful , but has a great sense of humor . His parents were Yakuzas, but he prefers to avoid illegal business. When he was young , he ran away from home because he hated what his parents did . He is the second person to arrive in Smileyland after Puzzle, he was Alfred’s best friend, ( Mister Cat’s father

The Owl House Warrior Cats AU!
Leader– Lowstar(Belos), acts as same in canon
Deputy– Lilyfrond(Lilith Clawthorne), acts as the second in command.
Heads- Trusted cats, all of which are the heads of their own roles (just as in the TOH canon)
Scouts– Leader`s most trusted/desired warriors. Strictly loyal to him and him alone. Has power of lower ranks and will follow on Lowstar`s orders. Also does warrior duties. They uphold warrior code.
Healers– Cats training and specializing in herbery.
Oracles– Cats who read the earth for things like omens and signs. They go to Lowstar for interpretation.
WARRIORS– A general grouping term. Used for cats who do not have a specific role/duty to carry out. They do basic stuff like hunting and patrolling. Also used for cats who have not chosen/have not been chosen for a specific role.
Spies– cats who are trained for spying and camouflage. They inform the scouts of suspicious activity and silently stalk the territory, ready to find threats. Usually a role chosen from birth/early kittenhood or apprenticeship.
Guards– Act as guards to the camp/dens, prisoners, and higher-ranking cats. They are respected cats and some of the most skilled in the Clan, although they are not considered skilled enough to become Scouts.
Bard– A fairly minor role. They provide entertainment for the Clan with "music" created by the nature around them.
Mentors– Cats who have proven themselves to be patient and willing to teach apprentices. Mentors can also have any above roles.
APPRENTICES– A general grouping term. Used to describe cats who are training to be specific roles. They are occasionally referred to as trainlings or trainees.
Kittens– Young cats who are not of age to become apprentices.
Fun extra note!! The Golden Guard(i.e Goldenpaw/Hunter) is a special snowflake and trains under Lowstar!!! In this AU, Lowstar IS actually his uncle, but by a couple greats.
Luz would become Lightpaw, Eda would become Owlspark, and King would become Littlekit! Hooty would stay Hooty, instead being a long Maine Coon who protects the main cast.
^ Owlspark would probably be a known codebreaker, but Lowstar wants to execute exile her. He wants it to be public but finds it difficult to get a hold of her! She`s either avoiding being caught breaking the code or slipping right out of his paws.
I`m definitely turning this into a book
