You sit back in your chair, the crew members adjusting your mic. You’re starting to regret doing this interview, but it’s too late to back out now. Everything’s already set up, the camera is about to be rolling. The interviewer is sitting a few feet away from you, notes in his hand. He waits for you to give him the signal that you’re ready. You nod, he begins.
“So, y/n, how did you become involved with the group?” He asks.
“I was first approached by Spencer when I was eating lunch outside one day...”

You were sitting alone, the cool fall breeze almost too cold to be comforting. You didn’t pay much mind to it though, you were more focussed on your studying. You were flipping through the pages of another history article when suddenly there was a presence beside you. Looking up at them as soon as you noticed, you recognized the boy as someone from your class.
“Can I help you?” You asked, your tone polite.
He looked nervous as if he were about to ask you out. “Hi, uh, I don’t know if you remember my name, I’m Spencer we have Art History together.”
“Oh, yeah, I’ve seen you,” you replied. “Do you need help with the homework or something?”
“No, I actually wanted to talk to you about something else, if you’re not busy or anything,” he said, his voice quiet.
You look away for a second before replying. “Sure, sit down if you want I’m not busy.”
He smiled at you before quickly sitting at the spot across from you. He put his bag on the table, you could see him take a deep breath. Was he really going to ask you out? You thought he was cute, but definitely not your type. You started to pray he wouldn’t say anything along those lines.
“I started to ask around a week or two ago about people who are good with computers and stuff, a lot of people told me you were the best person to go to,” he started. He lacked confidence in his voice, you felt bad for the poor guy but paid close attention to his words. “I need some... help with cameras.”
“What kind of cameras?” You asked, intrigued.
What he was saying was true, you were decently good with computers. You mostly would hack into places and disable things you didn’t like, like the cameras on the public library computers. It wasn’t anything illegal, at least you didn’t think it was illegal. It probably was, but you didn’t care.
“Just you know cameras in... semipublic places...”
You raised an eyebrow. “Like what kind though? Phone, laptop, desktop, security?”
“Security,” he answered quietly. “But before you say no listen, how does a couple hundred thousand dollars' worth of payment sound?
“What?”
“I won’t tell you the details till I know you’re on board but let's just say something is going down and we need help with the cameras. The pay would be huge and all you’d have to do is just mess with some cameras for like twenty minutes.”
You only stared at him; your mouth slightly hung open. Was he being serious? Was he really asking you to join him in a potential robbery that would pay hundreds of thousands of dollars? You never would’ve expected to be asked such a question on a cloudy Thursday at lunch. You shut your book completely and look around to make sure nobody is close.
“This money, it’s guaranteed?”
He nods. “As long as we get the job done, you’ll have it.”
You knew it was crazy, you knew whatever was going to happen would either result in you going to prison or having to run off into hiding. But the thought of being able to pay all your student loans off and have extra money to live off of was more appealing. Hacking into cameras wasn’t that hard, and it wasn’t going to hurt anyone. Unless it was.
“If you’re trying to get me to make sure a murder or rape isn’t on camera I’ll snitch,” you warned him.
“Oh no, nothing like that is happening at all. It’s just you know a robbery,” he replied, his expression genuine.
You nodded your head, convinced whatever he was asking couldn’t be that bad. “Okay, yeah, I’ll do it.”

“What was your first impression of the guys?
You smile. “They were really cool, funny, just overall really fun people to hang out with.”
“Do you remember the first time you met all of them?”
“Of course, like it was yesterday...”

The house you sat in front of didn’t look like a typical criminal's house. It looked like an average American’s family house actually. You were parked out on the road outside the house Spencer told you to go to, you were meeting the rest of the people involved with the robbery. It had been about ten minutes of you sitting out there debating whether or not to go in before you got a text from Spencer asking where you were. You sighed, praying to God this decision was the right one before getting out of your car.
You knocked on the front door with a shaky fist. You started to regret your decision, you thought about turning around and leaving, but the door was opened before you could act on it. An older woman stood in front of you, she looked to be in her 50s.
“Oh, you’re very pretty,” she said, making your cheeks turn red. “You’re here to see Warren, right?”
You had no idea who Warren was, but you nodded. The lady's smile grew, and she opened the door for you and ushered you inside. She directed you to the basement entrance, asking you a million questions you had no answers to. After those few but excruciating painful minutes though, you walked down the basement stairs and finally caught sight of Spencer.
There were three other guys in the room and all of their eyes were on you. Two, along with Spencer, were sitting on a couch. One of them was skinny with glasses, the other muscular with no glasses. They didn’t grasp your attention though. The last guy who was standing did. He had long dark curly hair, and eyes to match. His eyes met yours before you watched them slowly move up and down your body. You didn’t know how to react.
“Guys, this is y/n,” Spencer said, breaking you out of your thoughts.
“Hello, I’m Eric,” the guy with glasses introduced himself.
“Chas,” the muscular guy spoke, not paying much attention to you. “Are you sure this was a good idea, Spence? How much do we really know about this chick? No offense.”
“Shut up, we agreed,” Spencer hissed. He waved you over and you complied, walking to the couch and sitting on the end beside him.
The standing guy took a step forward and held out his hand to you. You looked up at him before accepting his handshake. His hand was rough, you liked the feeling of it in yours. “I’m Warren and you are our cameraman or woman I guess.”
You laughed. “I guess.”
“How much has Spencer told you?” Warren asked after letting go of your hand and stepping back. It was then you noticed the maps on the wall with drawings all over them, the layout looked familiar.
“Just that I need to hack some cameras and that it’ll pay me a lot,” you answered. “I don’t even know what you guys are stealing.”
“Well y/n, I’m sure you’ve been to your own school's library right?”
You nodded.
“Have you ever taken a tour of the library’s rare book collection?”
You nodded again.
Warren smirked. “Then you know exactly what we’re stealing.”
Your face fell and you immediately looked at Spencer and the rest of the guys. “Are you serious? You guys want to steal historic books?”
“I told you this was a bad idea,” Chas mumbled from his chair.
“Shut up Chas,” Warren quickly snapped. He looked back at you, his dark eyes engulfing yours completely. “We’ve been planning this out for months, and you are the last piece to our puzzle y/n. Think about how much you’ll be earning.”
You didn’t say anything. Maybe it was a bad idea.

“Chas eventually stopped being cold to me, I actually think in the end he became my closest friend in the group,” you say, finishing your story.
The interviewer gives you a look. “Well, besides Warren right?”
“I don’t know what you mean,” you reply, a confused look on your face.
“I have to ask if the stories are true, you know about you and him. The other guys say something changed between the two of you after a party you all attended. I mean, didn’t the police even question if your involvement had a deeper meaning than simply the money?”
You shake your head, giving your best performance. “Me and Warren were only ever best friends, there was never a deeper meaning behind anything.”

Music was pumping through your body, from the tips of your toes to the top of your head you could feel it. It had been a few weeks since you met the guys, and they all wanted to do something fun before the heist. So, a frat party was naturally the easiest option. That’s where you were now, already two shots and half a joint in. You didn’t know where Spencer, Nick, and Warren were, but Chas was dancing with you.
Though the two of you got off on the wrong foot, you and Chas quickly learned how well you get along. He was a good friend, all of the guys were. You liked how easily they could make you laugh and brighten your mood. They were all good people who you enjoyed being around.
Warren was the only one that you felt different for. You didn’t know why, but from the first day you met you knew your feelings for him would be different than the other three. The way he looked at you alone was completely different than the others. There was always something darker in his eyes, something you knew wasn’t supposed to be there for simply a friend. Every time the two of you looked at each other, your stomach filled with butterflies. You wanted it too. But in those first few weeks, nothing had happened. No matter how much either of you wanted it.
After some minutes of you and Chas dancing, Warren and Spencer appeared. They asked if the two of you wanted to go out and smoke, you both agreed and followed them outside the back. Not too many people were in the backyard, but there were enough for there to be a bonfire going. The four of you found an empty spot near the fire and sat down. Warren took out a joint and lit it before passing it around.
“Where’s Nick?” You asked after taking a hit.
Spencer shrugged. “Probably with the weird kids doing weird stuff.”
“He’s not that weird,” Chas replied. “He’s just awkward.”
You watched as Warren took another long hit of the joint. Because of the weed and alcohol, you found yourself even more attracted to him than when you were sober. You wanted so desperately to run your fingers through his hair, you wanted to hear his voice as you touched him. He suddenly met your gaze, his lips curled up into a mesmerizing smile. You wanted to kiss him. It was too much for you to handle.
You swallowed and stood up, brushing the dirt off your shorts. “I need to um use the bathroom.”
You didn’t wait for any of their replies. Instead, you rushed back into the house straight to the kitchen. You poured yourself a shot, downing it before giving it a second thought. You needed these feelings to go away. How were you supposed to work with Warren if you couldn’t even look at him without thinking about having sex with him? It made you feel awful. A hookup couldn’t be the reason the robbery went bad, you refused to let that happen.
After another shot, you started to forget about your feelings. In fact, you started to forget about Warren completely. All you felt was the burning sensation of the alcohol in your stomach and chest, it felt good. You stumbled out of the kitchen and into the hallway, grabbing the railings of the staircase for support. Suddenly, you felt a presence next to you, their hand on your back.
“Y/N, are you good?” It was Warren.
You turned your head and looked at him, God how could he look even better? “No- I’m not okay.”
“You’re wasted, you need some water,” he said. He moved his hand around your waist and pulled you up straight. You felt like you were on fire. “Come on, back to the kitchen.”
“Why are you here? I just- I just wanna forget about you,” you mumbled.
He started helping you walk back to the kitchen. “What? Why would you want to forget about me?”
“Because... I want you but I can’t have you. I thought you- felt the same that’s why it’s been so hard to resist,” you spoke, stumbling over your words. “I can’t look at you without thinking about you fucking me.”
Even in your drunken state, you could still see the cockiness on Warren’s face. He lifted you up onto the kitchen counter effortlessly before turning and getting you a cup of water. You leaned your head back against one of the cabinets, your head was spinning. You couldn’t think straight.
“Drink,” Warren’s voice filled your ears.
You lifted your head and grabbed the solo cup from his hand, downing the water faster than ever. When you finished, you threw the cup to the floor, your eyes meeting Warren’s once again. He was standing close enough that if you reached, you could touch him.
Perhaps it was because of the alcohol, or perhaps it was because of how long you’d felt the tension between you two, that gave you the courage to gently place your hand on the top of his head. His hair was soft, just like you’d expected it to be. You smiled and played with his curls. He didn’t object, you were glad. You needed this.
“Do you want me?” You asked, your voice barely audible against the loud music.
“What do you think?”
You shrugged. “I thought so, but I could always be wrong.”
“Maybe I should make it clearer,” he said. He grabbed your wrist and pulled your hand off his head before stepping closer to you. “If this house wasn’t crowded, I’d fuck you right here, right now.”

You didn’t know whether to pretend you were drunk so it wouldn’t look suspicious or stay awake to also not make it look suspicious. It all started around three months ago, you laid in your boyfriends bed watching movies with your boyfriend of a little over a year. It felt nice to relax in each other's presence instead of biting each other's heads off, constantly arguing about the smallest of things.
You laid on warrens chest feeling his chest raise and fall. Warrens mind was elsewhere probably high he felt tense underneath your frame. Puzzled you looked up at him through your lashes offering a smile. "You okay babe?". Warren sat in his car a spliff dangling between his fingers, his mind raced thinking of you like it always did nowadays. He looked at himself in the rear view mirror, he looked exhausted, bags under his eyes like he hadn't slept in days. But he didn't care he just wanted to see you.
Before warren knew it he had his phone in his hand, his thumb hovering over your number. Giving in he clicked call placing his phone to his ear waiting on your answer.

You laid in bed tossing and turning trying to get to sleep but it was no use. You had been like this for days, weeks even ever since warren broke up with you. You missed him but all he did was call you when he was drunk or high which you didn't have the time for.
Your phone sang it's ringtone, you knew what this meant you looked at your phone seeing it was 1:30AM, letting out a sigh warren's number showing on the screen swiping your thumb to decline the call.
You contemplated on switching your phone off but you needed the alarm on so you could get up in a few hours. You turned back around trying to get back to sleep but your phone kept getting notifications after notifications all from your ex boyfriend.
Warren:
' hey are you awake?'
'Why no answer?'

You let out a frustrated groan all you wanted to do was sleep but as per usual you couldn't. You started to text on your phone, you had enough of warren texting and calling you late it night like you broke it off with him. You just wanted to move on from him.

'No warren, I've got be up in the morning I'm trying to have an early night'

You then switched your phone off not caring about the fact you needed an alarm to get up for work. You just needed some sleep. Soon enough you were asleep not thinking about warren anymore.

Warren knew he should have left you alone end of the day he broke up with you. He regretted it but he was too stubborn to admit to it that's why he drowned his sorrows with weed and alcohol trying to forget you but it only made him want you more.
Days went by since he called you warren now found himself in a bar incredibly drunk. The bartender refused to serve him anymore, warren turned to leave but he could have sworn he saw you leaving the bar holding on to your heels. Warren scrunched his eyes but you were gone.
Maybe he was dreaming that he saw you, deciding to call it a night warren left the bar. He staggered among the crowd of bodies finding the exit of the bar. The fresh air hit him like a truck his drunken state worsted. His sight blurred as he pulled out his cellphone trying to find your number.
Warren:
'R u up?''
Warren walked down the street waiting on your reply, but it never came. Warren instead called you repeatedly.
Warren:

He kept texting you repeatedly not even realising that he was bumping into people in the street. "Watch it" a buff man snarled, warren shrugged him off all his attention on his phone ringing you once again.
He turned his head, seeing you in a random shop with another man. Warren stood there rubbing his eyes but you were gone. 'What the fuck?' Warren thought deciding that he should go see you stumbling around the pavement.

You laid in bed trying to get back to sleep once again warren kept blowing your phone up, hundreds of missed calls and unread texts. You had enough of him you knew he would only call you drunk or high cause he didn't want to spend the night alone, well he should have thought about that before he broke it off with you.
You switched your cellphone off knowing of warren tried to call you it would go straight to voicemail. Once again drifting off into sleep.
You had just drifted into slumber only to be woken by your front door knocking. Confused and concerned you shrugged into your nightgown away to see who was there.
You hoped and prayed that it wasn't who you thought it was. "Y/n open up" a slurred voice called out through the letterbox. You groaned contemplating if you should just leave him there and don't answer, but you knew warren wouldn't move from your door plus you would be worried if he would be safe.
With a frustrated sigh you opened your front door revealing a rather intoxicated warren lipka, he could barely stand straight his eyes droopy with the alcohol. "What do you want warren" you snapped your eyes barely even open too tired to deal with his nonsense.
"I came to see you" warren slurred leaning against the wall that surrounded your front door. "I gathered that but what for?" You questioned further, your arms folded across your chest. "I- I missed you so much why haven't you answered my calls?" He asked his eyes threatening to spill tears.
"Warren I'm not doing this who are you with?, where's Spencer?" You sighed looking around to see if Spencer was lurking around somewhere but no one was there. "It's just me please y/n I need you".
You sighed again for the hundredth time tonight deciding it was best to take him in till he's sobered up. "Come in" you said helping your ex into your home. His legs could barely carry him along as you assisted him to your living room.
Warren slumped down on the couch, you went to get a glass of water and a bucket to sober him up. "Where you in the bar tonight?" Warren spoke up, his eyes still threatened to let his tears fall. "No warren I've been here all day" you answered rubbing your temple. "Just go to sleep, there's a bucket there incase your sick I'm going back to bed" you stated. Warrens eyes shot open not wanting to escape your presence.
"What please don't go y/n" he pleads, "warren it's late I want to sleep" you slightly snapped. That was it for warren the tears finally fell down his cheeks. You felt bad that he was crying, something he rarely did in all the time you had known him. "What's wrong?" You asked in a more softer tone.
"You hate me don't you" your heart breaks hearing warren say such a thing. "Of course i don't hate you warren look we'll talk in the morning but for now just sleep sober up" you pleaded. Warren nodded his head letting you go to bed.
...
The next day you were exhausted, you could barely get to sleep once you left warren. Worried incase something happened to him. You sluggishly made your way downstairs your eyes barely even open. Warren was still asleep on your couch as you made your way over to the kitchen to make some coffee.
Grabbing a mug from the cupboard, you made a fresh pot of coffee not bothering with milk or sugar, hoping it would do the trick to wake you up. You sat on the stool by the kitchen island waiting on your coffee to cool down a little before taking a sip.
You heard tired footsteps entering your kitchen to reveal a very hungover warren. He looked dreadful his face pale, bags underneath his eyes like he hadn't slept in weeks. "Morning" he mumbles embarrassed to see you with a disappointed look on your face. "Morning" you mumbled back.
The silence that then filled the room making you both feel awkward. You hadn't seen each other since he broke it off with you. "Look y/n I'm sorry for coming over that late and in that state I really am you didn't need to deal with that" warren broke the silence, scratching the back of his neck.
"Look I am pissed you turned up in that state and the constant calls and text when your high, but it's in the past now just please don't go wandering off when your in that state warren" you sighed.
Warren felt his heart flutter at the fact you still cared about his wellbeing even though he was an asshole. "I promise, I didn't do anything embarrassing or wrong did I when I came in?" He then asked already knowing what the answer would be only thing was that he couldn't remember what happened.
"You didn't do anything wrong, you said you wanted to see me and thought I was at the bar last night, you started crying thinking I hated you" you explained seeing warren flinch remembering what happened. "Again I'm so sorry" he said.
"Can I ask something?" Warren nodded his head at you question. You pondered if asking would be ideal in this moment but you genuinely wanted to know why. "Why do you only call me when your high?" You asked fiddling with the rim of your coffee cup. "Well to be completely honest with you- I just miss you and I regret breaking it off with you I'm too stubborn to admit it sober so I drowned myself with booze and weed I kick myself in the morning knowing I keep on texting and calling you"
You didn't say anything just nodding your head taking in his answer. "I do miss you a lot and I do want you back it was stupid of me to break it off with you, I just hope one day we can mend what I broke" warren added. You missed him terribly sure you both had your flaws and argue a lot but you managed to get through it together in the past.
"I miss you too, it killed me when we broke up took me ages to even try to get over it then the calls and text started sent me right back to square one" you stated folding your arms across your chest. "It was really stupid of me" warren hung his head in shame you just hummed in agreement.
"We weren't perfect, god knows I wasn't but I'm willing to give you another chance but it will take a bit of time warren maybe we just rushed into everything too fast" you spoke up. Warren now making eye contact with you, a glimmer of hope seeping through his brown eyes.
"Really you would give me another chance? After what I did" disbelief and a hint of joy lingered in his voice. You nodded your head biting your lip. "I love you warren even after causing me sleepless nights, breaking my heart that day after all that I still love you" you whispered wiping away your stray tears.
Warren gave you a sympathetic smile walking over to you, wrapping his arms around you as you cried into his chest. You took in the familiar scent of him weed mixed with his cologne something you missed all those months. "I love you too I wished I wasn't such an asshole but I promise this time I'll make it right I'll be better" he whispered placing a kiss on the top of your head.
"I promise to be better too" you sighed pulling away from him, wiping the last of your tears away.

DON’T ACT LIKE YOU DON’T KNOW
Y/N L/N: You know those times when everything is going almost too perfectly? Well I was having one of those. 
It was early in the morning, about seven, and Y/N was at the studio having a discussion with Teddy. She was surprised when he had called her, she wasn’t needed at the studio at any point that week so she knew it must’ve been important. 
“So what’s going on?” Y/N questioned. 
“Well, I had a talk with the label and they agreed with me.” Teddy begins
“With what?” 
“That it’s about time you cut an album.” Teddy says with a smile.
“No way!” Y/N exclaimed, “You’re joking.”
“I’m not joking.” Teddy says.
“Oh my god!” Y/N exclaims, hugging Teddy. 
“Try and write some things over the next few days and then we’ll have another meeting to discuss everything.” Teddy says. 
“I will, I definitely will.” Y/N says, a wide smile on her face. 
When Y/N got back to the house, she was elated. She was finally getting everything she wanted. 
“What made you so happy?” Warren questioned.
“I’m making a fucking album!” Y/N exclaimed.
“Are you serious?” Warren asked, smiling.
Y/N nodded and Warren gave her a hug. The two continued to sway in the kitchen for a moment, arms around each other. Y/N hadn’t seen much of Warren recently, every time she was around him, Eddie wouldn’t be too far away and Y/N wanted to avoid him as much as possible.
“You know what this means right?” Warren said.
“What?” 
“We’ll be fighting for the number one album.” Warren says.
Y/N laughs pulling away from Warren, “I’ve had two number one singles, you’ve only had one, I’m already a step ahead.”
“What’s going on here?” Eddie questioned, suddenly appearing.
Everyone suddenly got quiet. The whole band knew that something had happened between Y/N and Eddie but no one had mentioned it, hoping that whatever it was would resolve itself. 
“I’m making an album.” Y/N finally answers, “I had a meeting with Teddy earlier.”
Eddie nodded, “Congratulations.”
“Thanks.” Y/N says, sensing the awkward atmosphere she cleared her throat, “I’m just gonna head to my room and work on a few songs.”
Y/N left in a haste leaving Eddie and Warren standing in the kitchen. 
“Okay, man, what is all this about?” Warren finally asked.
“What’s what about?” Edde says, getting a beer from the fridge.
“You and Y/N,” Warren says, “One minute you’re all over each other and the next you won’t even look each other in the eye.”
“Nothing happened,” Eddie answered, “We’re fine.”
“Well you both have a funny way of showing it,” Warren says, “Whatever is going on with you two, fix it.”
Warren walked out the kitchen leaving Eddie alone.

Y/N L/N: I don’t think I left my room at all for the next couple of days, Karen brought me food when I forgot. I had ink staining my hands, countless pens scattered around the bin because I missed when they ran out of ink. I devoted all of my time to writing my songs, never taking a break for myself. 
WARREN ROJAS: I was worried about Y/N, she wasn’t herself lately and she never came out of her room. I know that she was writing songs for her album but she just kind of forgot to take care of herself. I think it was only me and Karen that noticed. 
The door to Y/N’s room opened and Warren stood in the doorway. Y/N looked up, bags under her eyes from lack of sleep. 
“Get your jacket, we’re going to the movies.” Warren says. 
“I thought you were meant to be at the studio?” Y/N says.
“Daisy and Billy had an argument about the album so Teddy sent them away,” Warren explains, “So we have a day off.”
“So take someone else to the movies, I’m busy.” Y/N says.
“No, I’m taking you,” Warren says, “You’ve been locked in here since you had that meeting with Teddy.”
“Because I need to get these songs perfect, Warren.” Y/N says.
“And they probably already are,” Warren says, grabbing Y/N’s arm and dragging her up from the bed, “Come on, you’re coming with me.”
Sighing, Y/N got to her feet and slowly made her way over to her closet and pulled out a jacket and grabbed her shoes. As she put them on she let out a long yawn.
“When was the last time you slept?” Warren says.
“I had a couple hours earlier,” Y/N says, “I haven’t had a proper night's sleep.”
Warren sighed before walking out of Y/N’s room, “I’ll meet you outside.”
Y/N nodded before she sat down on her bed to put her shoes on. Shrugging her jacket on, she stepped out into the hallway and directly into Eddie. 
“Sorry,” She mumbled. 
“No, it’s fine-” Eddie says, “Hey, are you okay?”
Y/N looked up at Eddie, his eyebrows furrowed together in concern. His hand was still gently holding onto her upper arm as he spoke and Y/N was fully aware of it. 
“I’m fine.” Y/N answered.
“No you’re not.” Eddie says softly. 
Y/N looked down and before she had a chance to answer, Warren’s voice echoed throughout the house, “Y/N, Eddie, come on, we don’t want to miss it.”
“You’re coming too?” Y/N questioned as they walked down the hallway.
“Yeah,” Eddie says, “Warren asked me to come earlier. Is that okay?”
“Yeah, no, it’s fine.” Y/N says. 
Eddie simply nodded as the two met up with Warren who was waiting outside, “Finally, I don’t want to miss the movie.”
Y/N chuckled a little, “You’ve already seen it once.”
“Yeah, but it’s a fucking masterpiece.”
Y/N shook her head before she got into the van.

As Y/N sat down in her seat she couldn’t help but be fully aware of Eddie’s arm pressed up against hers. Despite still wearing her jacket her entire arm was on fire. By the time the film started, Y/N could barely concentrate on it, the only thing she could concentrate on was Eddie’s arm. 
Unbeknownst to Y/N, Eddie was feeling the same way. He constantly snuck looks at Y/N out of the corner of his eye, deep down he was hoping she noticed. His body was rigid and he didn’t move, afraid that if he moved, Y/N would become aware and move away on her own. 
“This is the best bit.” Warren whispered into Y/N’s ear. 
Y/N only nodded and continued to watch the film, although all the dialogue went in one ear and out of the other. She was too distracted. As the film ended, Warren was immediately up and heading to the bathroom, leaving Y/N and Eddie alone. 
The two stood around waiting for Warren who was taking his time. Neither of them said anything but they wanted to say everything at the same time. As soon as the two made eye contact, Eddie immediately broke. 
“Can we try to go back to how we were before, y’know like before everything?” Eddie says. Deep down he didn’t want to, all he wanted to do was pull Y/N in his arms and kiss her until he couldn’t breathe, but as far as he knew, Y/N didn’t want that. 
Y/N sighed, “Eddie-”
“I know it’s a lot to ask, but-but I can’t stand not talking to you. I feel awful about not talking to you after it happened and I regret that.” Eddie says.
“It’s okay,” Y/N says.
“It’s not and I know it’s not,” Eddie says, stepping closer to Y/N, “Can we at least try to get things back on track?”
Y/N paused, she wanted to, no she needed to. But there was something inside stopping her and she couldn’t explain what it was. She knew that no matter how hard they tried, nothing would go back to how it was before. The damage was already done. Whatever relationship the two had would never be the same.
“We can try.” Y/N says, offering him a small smile. 
Eddie nodded, however he wasn’t fully satisfied with the answer.
“You two ready to go?” Warren questioned. 
“Yeah, yeah, let’s go.” Y/N says and the three walked out the movie theatre.

As Y/N, Warren and Eddie stepped foot back in the house, Y/N felt a litle better than she did when she left that afternoon. Her relationship with Eddie was better, it wasn’t completely fixed but they worked on moving past everything and hopefully moving on. Despite this agreement, Y/N didn’t want to move on, she wanted to figure out her feelings because she knew that what she was feeling for Eddie wasn't normal. 
“Honeys, I’m home!” Warren exclaimed, making his way to the living room. 
“Hey.” Warren greeted Graham and Karen who sat on the couch, “You guys heard from Billy yet?”
“Uh no.” Graham says as the phone continues to ring.
“Is anyone going to pick that up?” Y/N questions. 
Eddie looks at her before picking up the phone, “Hello? Okay…yeah sure, no problem. Mm-hmm. Be right there.”
Eddie places the phone back down and everyone remains in silence waiting for Eddie to speak, “That was Teddy.”
“What’d he say?” Warren questions.
“He says that he wants us at the studio,” Eddie says, “And to bring Y/N.”
“Me? Why me?” Y/N asks.
“I don’t know, he didn’t say.” Eddie answers. 
“Do you think Daisy and Billy managed to write together peacefully?” Graham questions as the group exits the house.
“Guess you’ll just have to wait and see.” Y/N answers as they all piled in the van.

When everyone walked into the studio, Daisy and Billy sat there laughing together to the surprise of everyone. Y/N shared a look of shock with Graham. As the band entered, the laughter between Daisy and Billy died down. 
Y/N headed over to the booth to Teddy, “Eddie said you wanted me here too?”
“I do,” Teddy says, a sombre tone to his voice, “It’s about your album, Y/N.”
“Yeah, I’ve got a lot of things written that I can’t wait to show you and-”
“It’s not going ahead, Y/N.” Teddy says.
The smile falls from Y/N’s face, “What?”
“Billy doesn’t want to play guitar on stage and he says that you’re a good guitarist.” Teddy says.
“I am but what does this have to do with my album?” Y/N says, her voice cracking.
“Billy doesn’t want to play guitar on stage and he says that you are a good guitarist.” Teddy says, “So I am asking you if you want to join the band.”
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me,” Y/N says, anger lacing her tone, “You want me to join the band.”
“The label isn't putting any money towards your album, Y/N,” Teddy explains, “In their words, not mine, they don’t want to waste their time on a solo artist while they can invest money into the band. Billy wants you to join the band as the rhythm guitarist.”
“Wasting their time?” Y/N says, her voice harsh, “I’ve had two number one singles that people love and request to play on the radio all the time, they’ve only had one. I’ve worked my ass off to get where I am and you’re what? Just giving up on me. Because I can tell you for a fact that Billy doesn’t want me in the band, this is all you Teddy for a way of sparing my feelings,” Y/N lowered her voice into a low whisper, “And that’s bullshit.”
Storming out of the building and into the fresh air, Y/N let out a scream of frustration. Everything she had been working towards had been just flushed away in the matter of seconds. 
The doors opened and Y/N didn’t even bother turning around, “Don’t even fucking bother Teddy, I’m done.”
“You’re done?” Came the voice of Billy Dunne.
Y/N laughed but there was no humour behind it, “You are the last person I want to see.”
“Y/N just come and join the band.” Billy called out to her. 
“You don’t even want me in the band, you don’t even like me Billy, why are you suddenly trying to convince me otherwise.” Y/N exclaims. 
“You’re Camila’s best friend,” Billy says, “I’m only allowing you to join because of her.”
“Wow! ‘Allowing me?’” Y/N mocks,  “How many times have I told you people that I don’t want to be a band, never have, never will.”
“You know most people would kill for this opportunity.” Billy says, stepping closer, “And you’re just throwing it away like it’s nothing.”
“I am,” Y/N says, “Because I know exactly what will happen, I will be pushed to the side, everyone will, and it will literally be the Billy Dunne show, like it always has been.”
Billy rolled his eyes, “Y’know you are an ungrateful bitch when you want to be.”
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me,” Billy says, “You’re ungrateful, you’ve had everything handed to you on a silver platter and you take it for granted.”
“I have not had everything handed to me on a silver platter, I would say that you’re mistaking that for yourself,” Y/N hissed, “Oh look, Billy Dunne doesn’t want to play guitar let’s get a new guitarist so he can freely prance about on the stage.”
Billy chuckled, “You want to know something, Y/N? You wouldn’t have the career you have now if it wasn’t because of me. I’m the one that gave Teddy your tape to listen to. Your number one singles wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for me. If it wasn’t for me, you’d still be working in that record shop performing to the same ten people over and over again until you gave up and realised that you weren’t good enough.”
“I fucking hate you, Billy Dunne.” Y/N says, a single tear slipped down her cheek. 
“Yeah, well the feeling’s mutual.” Billy says, “Now, if you don’t join the band, Y/N, your career isn’t going anywhere, the label is going to drop you. I’m giving you a chance here.”

As the two walked back into the studio, Y/N followed behind Billy. As the two entered all the attention turned to them. Y/N was seething with anger, but she didn’t allow it to show, she kept it bottled up. 
“Everyone, I have an announcement.” Billy says.
From the corner of her eye, Y/N saw Eddie trying to get her attention but she ignored him, she ignored everyone. 
“Y/N is joining the band as our new rhythm guitarist.” Billy says a fake smile on his face. 
Everyone around her broke into smiles and applause, but Y/N didn’t react. Everyone shared looks with one another and slowly Warren’s smile faded as he noticed the expression on Y/N's face. 
“What about Y/N’s album?” He questioned. 
When Y/N didn’t answer, that was enough of an answer for Warren. 
“So, for this song Y/N, this is what you’re going to do…”
Y/N listened, though she continued to stare forwards at the wall, no emotion on her face. At that point in time she only thought one thing. I fucking hate Billy Dunne.

You liked The Psychedelic Furs. 
So, Warren also likes The Psychedelic Furs. 
Reading was done for some down time for you - horror and thriller novels, with some romance novels sprinkled in from time to time. 
Warren hated reading - but now in his down time, he found himself popping open a cold can of beer and reaching for a book he had on his nightstand for almost six months now. It had a bookmark slipped in between the pages marked 5 & 6 since he really did try to read it before, but time got the best of him (he didn’t really want to read it), and he didn’t have any down time (he did. He was just napping). 
Warren liked those 80’s slasher movies that were corny with a couple of jumpscares and you could guess the plot within no time. 
So, you liked 80’s slasher movies that were corny and had some jumpscares. 
Warren liked beer. 
You… couldn’t bring yourself to even drink a full one, let alone half of one. The taste was like pee. 
You couldn’t enjoy that. 
But, you did enjoy his love for fun printed shirts, silly little jokes and conventions that he seemed to lead with when he spoke to you at one of his parties. 
But there was only so much waiting you could take for him to actually admit that he liked you as much as you liked him. Or even for a little date. 
Stepping into his room, you lift a brow and walk over, plopping down next to him. He flinches and looks over at you. You giggle. “You didn’t hear me knocking?” 
“No. I was busy reading-”
“1408,” You grin, scooting a bit closer to where your shoulder brushes his. You hear him inhale deeply and you feel a bit giddy. “I didn’t think you were the type to read, Warren Lipka.” You tease, peeking up at him through your lashes. 
He lets out a nervous laugh - a pretty pink blush painting his cheeks. “Well, uh, I just… I remembered you saying something about the book,” He holds it up, shaking it as if you didn’t realize what he was talking about. “And I wanted to check it out.” 
“That was so long ago.” 
“Yeah,” He shrugs. “Well, it’s good. You were right. Mind boggling.” He chuckles, slipping the bookmark between the pages. He was surprised with how much he actually liked the book and how much he has read. 
He places it on the coffee table before turning to face you a bit more, placing his arm over the back of the couch. “Wait, why are you here?” He didn’t mean it in a mean way. 
“Ouch. Harsh,” You smirk. You watch his face contour into horror - the last thing he wants you to think is that he doesn’t want to have you anywhere near him. He opens his mouth to correct himself, but he’s cut off by your laughing. “I’m only kidding, Warren. You’re so cute when you get all flustered.” 
That makes his face feel like someone pushed it into a fire, or on the eye of a stove. “Oh.” Is all he says, ripping his eyes away, sweaty palms rubbing against his jeans. 
You frown a bit, standing. “I’m gonna go use the bathroom. I’ll be back.” You say. He nods, watching as you speed off. 
You close the door, locking it and sighing as you pace the small length of the bathroom. “You can do it,” You mutter to yourself. “He’s not gonna do it. So you have too.” You stop and look at yourself in the mirror before nodding. 
“You got this. It’s not like he’s gonna say no.” 
But then again; what if he does say no?
You don’t think about it too much, ready to rip off the metaphorical bandaid and open the bathroom door walking out and standing in front of him. 
You freeze, mouth parted and ready to speak. 
Warren glances up at you, head tilting. “What’s-”
“Will you go on a date with me?” You spit it out in one breath. You’ve never had to take the first step in asking a guy out, ever. 
Kind of felt nice for a change, but didn’t at the same time. 
“Wait, really?” You nod, pursing your lips together. His lips lift with a small smile. “Yeah… Yeah, I’ll go on a date with you.” 
You let out a small breath, eyes closing. He snorts a bit. “Did you think I was gonna say no?” You feel his hands on your shoulders, your eyes finally opening and looking at you. 
Your own hands come up and wrap around his wrists. “Well… I mean, I could’ve been reading this whole thing wrong.” 
“But you weren't.” 
You smile and tilt your head as you shake it. “I wasn’t.” 
“So… Does this mean I have to wait to give you a kiss on date night?” 
You lift up, pressing a kiss against each corner of his mouth softly, before pulling away slightly. “Can that tide you over?” 
He nods quickly. “Yeah. That can tide me over.”

if u don’t want to get into it pls ignore this, but why don’t u like the conjuring? i like the 1st and 2nd. dont rlly care for the rest of the universe, but u have great taste in horror & i’d love to hear ur thoughts!
Tbh if it had stopped at 1 it would just be one of many horror movies I dislike and I'd think nothing of it. But because it developed into what it is, I grade the first movie much more harshly--ultimately, I found the first Conjuring extremely boring. Not the worst and Wan's directing and the great cast gave it a couple legs up that its otherwise lackluster story wouldn't have had, but at the end of the day I just think it's a boring film. That it glamorizes the real-life scammers and generally immoral Warrens does not help matters. And the fact that it has splintered into a series of mind-numbingly stupid films that only exist to make that sweet sweet ip money without putting any thought whatsoever into making art or even genuinely frightening stories that don't just rely on cgi jumpscares only exacerbated my dislike. The Conjuring movies only exist to churn out a neverending landscape of hollow, mainstream sequels and spin-offs that are guaranteed to make a profit for investors from as broad an audience as possible. They are the mcu of horror, made not for horror fans (just as mcu films are not made for comics fans) but because horror is cheap to make and easy to profit from. I've liked exactly one (Annabelle: Creations) and I'm not saying that seeing them with friends can't be a fun time, but to me they offer nothing of value.

I’m in my last class, Chemistry. Trust me, I love Mrs. Grant and all, but she rambles way too much. She’s holding dismissal… has been for 10 minutes. ‘Don’t be late.’ Nathan’s words ring in my ears. Please let me out of here. And like God himself heard my plea, Mrs. Grant finally let up. “Okay kids, go do whatever you kids do these days. And stay safe!” The entire class let out a sigh of relief, and happily left her room.
As I’m walking out I run into someone. “Oh, I’m so sorry.” I apologize, as we bumped into them pretty hard. The other person speaks with a bit of a chuckle, “Nah, It’s all good.” I immediately recognize the voice, and look up at them. “Warren! Hey.” I greet him properly. I’m actually pretty good friends with Warren, he’s a nice guy, plus he always helps with my Chem work. Not to mention that he has the biggest crush on our mutual friend, Max. Which I help him with in return for the Chem help.
“How are you, Y/N? You look kind of stressed.” He says in that caring tone, always genuine. “Sorry Warren, I’m just in a bit of a hurry.” He nods in understanding. “I gotta meet up with someone, for a photography project.” I continue, and Warren says, “Oh alright, I won’t keep you hostage then.” He jokes. “I just wanted to ask you real quick if you wanted to borrow my drive.” I look at him a little confused not understanding why I would want to borrow a flash drive. He must’ve noticed my confusion because he starts to explain. “It’s just got a bunch of movies on it, you know the classics. None of that new age crap with no plot.” My face lights up with clarity. I nod and say, “Actually, yeah that’ll be great.” Warren looks pleased and tells me he’ll drop it off at my dorm soon. We say bye and head our separate ways. I’m now 15 minutes late.
God, Nathan’s gonna be pissed.
As I was walking to the boys dorms, I was oh so lucky to stumble across Deputy Dilweed. Aka Mr. Madsen. “Young lady, what on earth are you doing on the boy’s dorm campus?!” His usual shouts tick me off as I’m already late to meeting Nathan, and I really don’t wanna hear his bitching. “I have a project to do. For Mr. Jefferson.” I say innocently. “I don’t care if you have a project. You are not allowed to be here. Whoever your partner is can wait.” He said smugly, clearly not letting up.
An idea came to me. I’ll smack that smirk right off his face. “Actually, I’m already late, and Nathan Prescott does not like to be kept waiting.” I finished with my own sly smirk, watching the color drain from his face. “I apologize. Go ahead.” He moves out of my way with his head down in embarrassment. Maybe Nathan does come with a few perks. I make my way into the building, starting my journey to find his room.

Walking down the 2nd floor hall of the boys dorms, I look at my watch. Great, I'm 30 minutes late and I still haven't found this boy’s dorm. I keep walking looking at all the white boards when I see one that reads, ‘The Prescotts Own You’. Yeah, okay, not obvious at all. I hold my breath as I knock on the door a couple of times. Nothing. I sigh for a moment, thinking I was totally screwed. I raise my fist to knock again, but before I’m able to, the door swings open with a blank faced expression on Nathan’s face.
I drop my hand, embarrassed, and albeit, a little scared. “You’re late. I told you to not be late.” He sounds pissed, but his face doesn’t show it. He lets me in nonchalantly, plopping down on his couch. “I’m really sorry, honestly. First Mrs. Grant held dismissal, then I ran into someone, and Deputy Dickhole gave me a hard time getting up here. Not to mention I was roaming the campus for way too long trying to find you room.” I say in one big breath, letting out a sigh.
“Madsen?” Nathan says now sounding genuinely pissed. “That prick? I’ll talk to him about it.” I was shocked to say the least, awkwardly shifting beside his sitting figure. “Sit.” He said. “Right..” I say shyly, and I sit down beside him. I take a moment to take in his room, very dark, and monochrome. Pictures of obscure and abstract visuals hang on his walls. Some of which are his own work, others aren’t. He has some sort of fancy projector set up. An interest in film maybe?
Anyway I turn my attention back to Nathan, and to my surprise, he’s already looking at me. He doesn’t break eye contact, not immediately anyways. After a second he looks away. “So, we just gotta take a few pictures of each other.” He says coolly. “And two environmental shots.” I gently corrected. “Whatthefuckever.” He pressed. “Listen I already don’t wanna do this, so let’s just hurry up and get this over with.” He stands up grabbing one of his many cameras, messing with the settings. I have a feeling tonight's gonna be a long night.

3. Ewan McGregor Movie Review: Doggin' Around (1994)

This is Ewan's third and last movie of 1994. Three movies in one year is impressive for a burgeoning actor and that's not including the television series and short film he was in that year as well. Unfortunately, his last project of 1994 didn't end on a high note for me.
Movie Review: Doggin' Around is a television movie starring Elliot Gould and Geraldine James. The movie is about Joe Warren, an American jazz pianist, reluctantly performing a tour short notice in England's less than desirable venues after the main act suddenly dies. He is put in the care of ex-jazz singer, Sarah Williams, who has sworn to never sing on stage again. Though they don't get along at first, the duo slowly open up to each other as they work through problems from their past. On paper, the movie sounds fine, but the truth of the matter is this movie is so boring and the acting is god awful! First of all, Joe Warren is an insufferable character. I kept saying to myself "No one talks like that!" The delivery of every single line out of the actor's mouth sounds stilted and manufactured. He sounded like he wanted you to know he was acting which just takes you out of the movie because of how unnatural it is. For a character whose charm is supposed to come from his witty and sarcastic humor, there was not a single joke that landed for me. There was only one joke that got a positive reaction from me. Mind you, I didn't laugh. I just thought "that wasn't a bad joke." The movie is slow. Even though we follow Joe Warren on tour, the sets all look the same so it feels like we stay in one place the entire movie. Also, the visuals are grey and dull. The one good thing I will say about this film is that because it's about a jazz musician we get to hear a lot of jazz in the score and the selections are enjoyable.
Ewan Review: Ewan plays a minor role as the character Tom Clayton, a double bass player who still has a lot to learn about show business. He accompanies Joe Warren on tour as his bassist and is eager to make a name for himself even if it means stepping on Joe's toes. Ewan doesn't have a lot of lines in this role though it is fun to watch him energetically pretend to play a bass. He also has long silky hair which was becoming his staple hair style during this era. His performance was good though short.
Screentime Percentage (All numbers are rounded to the nearest whole number): Ewan is on screen for a grand total of 10/89 minutes making his SP 11%.
To Ewan or not to Ewan: Is this movie worth watching for Ewan content alone? No. Is it worth watching in general? No.
Where to Watch: Doggin' Around is currently uploaded for free on YouTube through the account "Ewan McGregor Vault". Just search "Doggin' Around 1994, with Ewan McGregor". Be warned that the quality isn't great. There are a couple moments where the sound cuts in and out as well as one moment where the visuals briefly cut out.
Conclusion: This is my first really negative review so I want to remind everyone that this is just my opinion. This movie is a skip for me but others have given it some very positive reviews. Don't be afraid to give it a watch and come to your own conclusion. If you do, I'd love to hear your opinion! But if what you're looking for is Ewan content, then I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

Ronancetober Day 4: Horror Movie AU - The Conjuring AU
Note: It is NOT important if you haven't watched the movies before.
But, for a little bit of context: There are 3 Conjuring movies (+ 3 Annabelle movies + The Nun movie (and The Curse of La Llorona counts too, okay?!)) They are about Ed and Lorraine Warren (they were real people but we're only focusing on the movies) paranormal investigators aka fighting demons, performing exorcisms, loving each other, being a girlboss/malewife couple. Lorraine has spooky visions and Ed loves her very much.
This is based on the third movie, set in 1981, Ed and Lorraine Robin and Nancy are certified ghostbusters milfs. Let's go!

By 1981, Robin and Nancy had worked as paranormal investigators for over ten years, and they had been in love for much longer than that. Their house was a notoriously comfortable and warm place. Neither of them was the best at staying particularly tidy. Robin, because it wasn’t in her nature. Nancy, because she always had something more important to do. But, somehow, the mismatched furniture, the books strewn on every surface, the decorations that were a result of many years of gifts from their closest friends and people they had helped, it worked for them. It felt like a second home to everyone that was invited inside. That was one of the reasons why Steve felt so uneasy at the sight of the extremely uninviting basement door. It was a notoriously robust door, with a concerning amount of locks on the side, and a handful of warning signs on it.
While Robin worked methodically on unlocking the door, Nancy turned toward Steve and said, “Steve Harrington, welcome to the Buckley-Wheeler museum.”
“Thank you,” Steve chuckled, and followed his two best friends inside, “That’s a little overdramatic. I mean, I helped build the shelves and- holy shit, okay, yeah, I hadn’t been here in a while. It’s fucking creepy guys, what’s wrong with you?”
“You don’t like it?” Robin pouted, but her act was sabotaged by her own laughter. “It’s not meant to be pretty, dingus. This is a carefully arranged collection of mementos from each and every one of our cases. Every object has been blessed before and after joining the museum. A priest visits us every month to bless the entire house and especially the basement. We remember everything about every case and every trinket and okay, we might forget some details and no, I don’t particularly like everything we keep here, but it’s the safest place and-”
“Don’t touch that,” Nancy hissed. Her hand flew with shocking speed to grab Steve’s wrist before his fingertips could even graze the glass of the box where they kept locked a terrifying and hideous little doll. “A single touch could wake up any sort of evil force that we put to sleep years ago. And trust me, you don’t want to deal with her.”
Steve froze until Nancy let go of his wrist. He lowered his hand slowly and stared at the lifeless eyes and malicious red smile of that broken porcelain face for a second longer. “Okay, sorry. No touching, I got it. It’s just- damn is that a samurai suit?!“
“Steve,” Robin said, snapping her fingers and bringing him back to the tour of the museum. “Focus, buddy. We brought you here for one very specific reason. Are you ready?”
“I’m always ready,” Steve said with a grin as the three of them slowly approached the back of the room, glancing at all kinds of random cursed objects. The pair of coins, the broken piano, the pictures, the television, the children's toys, the plastic monkeys, the foggy mirrors, and the music box. “We’ve been working together for years,” Steve added proudly, “You guys are the reason I have cameraman, photographer, kicking down doors and screaming for my life in my resume.”
Robin chuckled, “As if you had a resume.”
“Guys,” Nancy interrupted them with a pointed look and tilted her head to the wall. “Steve, remember your first case with us?”
Steve’s breath hitched. He stared at the letters on the wall and the Christmas lights organized on top of them. Part of him expected the lights to start blinking again as a helpless little boy begged for help from someplace that Steve still didn’t understand. “The Byers,” he sighed.
“The Byers, 1971, right here in Hawkins,” Nancy nodded.

Why did DR. COFFIN no longer continue publishing fanfics?
DR. COFFIN began publishing his fanfics about Sky High for the first time on Nov 3, 2005, this being "Flight" with Warren Peace as the protagonist since she is, in his own words, his favorite character.
May 18, 2006: It would be the day on which Sky High would publish the series: a synopsis compilation with his writing partner WARRENFIRE.
WARRENFIRE: I publish 84 synopsis. DR. COFFIN: published 78 synopsis.
(Remember that these are in no specific order.)
As it says in the same publication, they decided to only publish 5 stories chosen by the fans since they did not believe they could write them all. From the votes it was decided to change the number to 14 of which were going to be written but only a few arrived and others were deleted since they were published on the WARRENFIRE account which disappeared, leaving only the message below.

Published: Dec 18, 2006: but moving on to the controversial issue, WARRENFIRE showed a fanaticism for Sky High which is not known how it ended, since if we go to his account we can see that his love for the movie turned to hatred for it, it is not known why, perhaps a fight or a disagreement but as DR. COFFIN in the story "Sky High Christmas Special: Snow Ball Fight" disappeared.

As many of you know, this idea was a joint effort by myself and Warrenfire to give us all something as close to a Sky High tv series as we're likely to ever get (at least until Paul Hernandez gets the rights back from Disney unless they wake up and realize they're sitting on a million dollar opportunity). It has been fun, and Warrenfire and I have bounced over a hundred ideas (EACH) off of each other to come up with a series. Sadly, things haven't worked out as well as we had hoped. Recent events at home have really screwed up my time to get anything written, resulting in long delays that have frustrated me to no end. Combine this with the fact that Warrenfire has apparently dropped off the face of the earth after deleting all the episodes he "produced" so far, and things don't look so good for this idea to continue. But that depends entirely upon you, the readers. Do you want me to continue this series of stories? There are a lot of good ones in the works (including ones featuring appearances by Disney characters such as Dr. Drakken and Shego, and the gang from "Hercules"), and we have yet to learn the plans of Royal Pain and Barron Battle. Warrenfire e-mailed me the rough drafts for a few of his stories from him, and I'd really like to put those out for you all to read, and there is a great cliff hanger "season finale" coming up as well. While I personally would love to continue doing this, my time is still rather limited, and there are three other projects I need to work on. These include the sequel to "We're Not In Kansas Anymore" (Sky High/Smallville) which takes place a year after the first story with Clark, Layla, Warren and the others in their sophomore year. Due to continued demand, I also want to continue the Sky High/Sharkboy and Lavagirl crossover I did as a couple of little one-shots over a year ago, turn it into a full blown story, and also add the characters from "Zoom: Academy for Super Heroes" (yeah, the movie was a bad Sky High rip-off but the characters have a lot of potential). Finally, I am laying the groundwork to writing a novel. Actually I have ideas for several of them, but I need to settle down on one idea and take it from there.
So there you have it. Please let me know if my continuing to work on the "series" is something you all want to continue to read, or if I should just wrap it up as a "miniseries" and go on to the other projects. I look forward to getting your feedback.

Unpopular opinion I just don't like Janus/Deceit and Remus/"Intrusive Thoughts"/Dark Creativity; they rub me the wrong way. I ship the two of them together but I prefer to keep them separate from the "Core Four". Hence my fics focus a lot more on the core four, although I have plans to add the Dark Sides to the Long Road Home series in the next update for that series. [Long explanation is long I hope it gives you a little context 😅]
- Peter Parker/Gwen Stacy is cute! I know very little about them! I don't know what TSM means! I've heard of an MJ at some point which I assume is an alternate universe girlfriend? TLDR from the little I have absorbed over the years they seem like a cute couple 💜
- Believe it or not the movie I watched most recently was Pride and Prejudice and Miss Bennett/Mr Darcy will probably always be my first ship and what I base at least half of my romantic fantasies on so they also get to go in A Tier.

whats the good comics to read? ive read & liked hellboy & flex mentallo, watchmen was pretty good. did not rly enjoy punisher that much tho i read a lot of it like 15 years ago. ive read a couple of batman runs as well tho aside from killing joke idr which ones.
caveat that I've been mostly reading Marvel stuff of late and I kinda dropped off comics like...a month and a half ago or so cause of work and pivoting to interest in film, though I'm hoping to get back into it. But here are some things I've enjoyed!
The original Stan Lee and Gerry Conway Amazing Spider-Man runs are great if you want old-school character drama and have the patience for excessive exposition. The same caveats go for Chris Claremont's tenure on Uncanny X-Men which are some of my favorite cape comics ever. This run is really long, so if you want a condensed idea of what it's like, "God Loves, Man Kills" is a great graphic novel that kinda captures the spirit of that era and its core characters, and I also adore the Starjammers/Brood Saga. The New Teen Titans by Marv Wolfman, which @radiofreederry is chronicling as she reads it, works for similar reasons as Claremont's X-Men, which it was emulating and in some ways surpasses.
J. Michael Straczynski's Amazing Spider-Man run...there are two options here: 1) Just read the period where John Romita Jr. is the artist, which ends with "The Book of Ezekiel" arc. This is the strongest and most consistent section of the story. It actually made me cry at least once or twice. 2) Read the whole run, but recognize that it *will* shit the bed at least three times, two of which are mostly pointless and skippable ("Sins Past" and "The Other"), one of which is both one of the worst stories ever told and fundamentally damaged the character to this day, *and* the unfortunate, editorially imposed conclusion to the whole creative run ("One More Day"). However this section also includes two of my favorite Spider-Man stories ("Mr. Parker Goes to Washington/The War at Home," imo the only part of Civil War that actually proved the value of the event, and "Back in Black") so it depends on your patience and willingness to deal with wack stuff in order to get to good parts.
Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo's Fantastic Four run is like, really charming and beautiful and silly but moving. Honestly a perfect run imo.
My favorite Batman story is unquestionably The Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale, which was a big influence on the Matt Reeves Batman movie (which is also my favorite Batman film). Really embraces the character's detective qualities, which is when I think he's most interesting - I don't need him to be doing a lot emotionally or be the most unconquerable creature with tons of prep time, I need him to be Hercule Poirot in a silly suit. But if you want a great detective story without Batman's baggage, Denny O'Neill's The Question is so so good. Funny, dark, politically charged, philosophically poignant. Kind of ends unsatisfactorily but the ride there is really good detective drama.
If you like Hellboy, it's worth checking out a lot of the late 80s DC/Vertigo lineup which aimed for weirdness and high concepts. This includes Alan Moore's Swamp Thing, Gaiman's The Sandman, Hellblazer, Animal Man, and Doom Patrol. Double-recommendation for Doom Patrol and Animal Man, because both were written by Flex Mentallo author Grant Morrison.
Let's see...George Perez's Wonder Woman is a cool mix of grounded drama and high-fantasy. I like it best when Perez is on pencils and writing, not just the latter. Hawkworld is the only good Hawkman story. Morrison's All-Star Superman is great but requires a lot of Superman familiarity to really appreciate imo. Warren Ellis's time on Thunderbolts is a fun little action/psychological thriller comic. Brian Michael Bendis' Dardevil is actually really good, it's the only thing he's written that I think is great without any qualifications. Gail Simone's Secret Six is a fun variant on the Suicide Squad concept. I like 2000s She-Hulk, Ghost Rider...the first forty-two issues of Ed Brubaker's Captain America is honestly a pretty sick spy thriller.
if I didn't' mention something well-regarded or contemporary here (e.g. Mark Waid's The Flash) assume I just haven't read it yet, I have an extremely long spreadsheet of things to read. This got pretty long but yeah, that's a bunch of stuff I've read and enjoyed!

My may top 5 movies:
Kung Fu Panda trilogy (2008, dir: Mark Osborne, John Stevenson; 2011, dir: Jennifer Yuh Nelson; 2016, dir: Jennifer Yuh Nelson, Alessandro Carloni) [Rewatched the first two after a decade and watched the third for the first time] Listen, I don't know what happened to me or to the world that made me uninterested in these movies somewhere between the second and the third one, but I'm glad that went away because these are actually really good. Like, the animation, the aesthetic, the story: they're all great and enjoyable, and a lot of fun! -
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018, dir: Ol Parker) [Rewatch after five years] The songs are still bangers and a lot of fun, even though this is way more sad than the first one. Wacthing it with friends is even better! -
13 Going on 30 (2004, dir: Gary Winick) [Rewacth after seven years] Still a cute and fun rom-com. The time-travel and the moral consequences of a 13 year-old in her own older body are never even thought about, but that's probably for the best, because I genuinely enjoyed it as a kid, even though I didn't want to grow up. -
Sky High (2005, dir: Mike Mitchell) [Rewatch after more than a decade] Just okay, I remember liking this a lot as a teen, but never seeing it again. Loved the whole character of Warren Peace, his name and his backstory and to be honest I wish the whole thing would have been about him. But still not that bad! -
So I Married an Anti-Fan (2016, dir: Kim Je-young) [First time watch] No idea how I found this, but it was pretty fun. I haven't really written anything on my notebook about it other than "not that bad", and all the letterboxd reviews are about this k-pop idol whom I don't know, I'm so sorry.
Favourite series in may:
Spy x Family (Japan, 2022) [First time watch; anime] A spy needs to infiltrate the family of an important political figure to stop the war between the two prominent regions of his nation, but to do so, he needs to have a wife and a daughter. He finds them in a secret assassin and a mind reader respectively. This anime is so much fun!! It's hilarious and even heartwarming at times. I decided to read the manga as well because I fell in love with the characters so fast. -
Ted Lasso - season 3 (USA, 2023) [First time watch] This series has been a very nice comfort show since I started season 1 last year. I loved how everyone had a character development and I very much enjoyed the positivity and feeling of hope throughout the series and especially in the end. -
Schmigadoon! - Schmicago (USA, 2023) [First time watch] This musical series is still one of the most innovative around and I LOVE the songs and the references to the musicals it parodies. I think I might have enjoyed this second season more than the first because I like more musicals from this era than the ones referenced in season 1. I still wish they will eventually make a thrid season, because if they manage to make parodies of all musical eras, they will have my whole heart, although this had a perfect ending, so I am conflicted on this. -
Dark Blue Kiss (Thailand, 2019) [Rewatch after a year] This was the first Thai series I've ever watched, but I had overrated it, so I decided to revisit it with a better knowledge and some more place for comparison. It turns out that it's still pretty good! Pete and Kao's story and its stupid jealousy, their cute bickering, and Kao's will to come out to him mum but fear of rejection is still very well done. Their breakup phase is still so sad! New's little pouty face should be enough to make people forgive him, especially when Kao didn't do anything outwardly terrible. The communication problem in this couple is still annoying, but the last scene makes up for everything and they have my heart. I'm not the greatest fan of the second couple - when a lot of fans would say the opposite - but I still love fellow Pokémon Go fan Mork and I still think he deserves better, I'm not sorry. -
Quacks (UK, 2017) [First time watch] As usual, six-episodes-long British sitcoms that are about specific time periods were cancelled after one season, and so was this gem. This series was about several doctors working at a Victorian hospital and trying new ways to cure patients. It was very interesting other than pretty funny.

why the kraang in rottmnt: the movie work so well (for me)
(obvious spoilers fir the movie; if you haven’t watched it, go do so)
i’ve been ruminating on the idea of this post for a while, so instead of doing any actual writing, i have decided to spitball my thoughts on this subject
if you would like to read, go ahead. if not, okay? then don’t (/lighthearted)
i’ve seen/heard the argument a couple times from people who i’ve watched the movie with or have watched the movie that they didn’t like the kraang as villains, and/or how they were implemented
to this i say everybody is entitled to their own opinion, and if you don’t like them as villains just off of vibes, that’s fine
it gets dicey when people further elaborate. while i’m sure there are many reasons why you could dislike the kraang, but the idea that they are “bad villains” feels a bit... untrue?
so i want to explore why
to be clear, this isn’t a call-out or anything of the sort. i’m talking about a bunch of pink brain aliens from a franchise called ‘the teenage mutant ninja turtles.’ it’s not that deep (/lighthearted)
from the people i’ve talked to, the usual justification for their feelings is that they feel the kraang are one dimension. evil for the sake of being evil.
and that’s not untrue.
the kraang have one big motivation: to overtake the world. maybe they foster anger for being locked in the prison dimension, but that’s more of a ‘as well as’ type thing
but i don’t necessarily think that this is bad in the context of the story.
quite a few people who say this to me haven’t watched the series, so i can almost understand why they think this. (i’ll maybe explore that more later though.)
but to the rest, i can only assume their thought process revolves around evaluating the kraang (1) by themselves, instead of as part of a larger narrative, and (2) based off of the prevailing idea in modern media that villains must also be entirely dynamic characters with their own set of nuance.
so i’m going to explain why i disagree with both of these.
number one: evaluating the kraang as an individual part of the story instead of within the context they inhabit.
if you were to isolate the kraang as villains, i understand why you would come to the conclusion that they’re lacking. warmongering aliens hellbent on destroying the world, for no reason other than honor. where have we seen that before?
oh yeah— everywhere!
but i take issue with this. one, in defense of this, the kraang aren’t just your general baddie archetype. they do have underlying nuance.
we see in the scenes with raph (and it’s later parallel with leo) that the kraang operate off of a different moral framework than that of our heroes.
it’s not just their perspective. it’s their societal background. the strongest are those on top, the weakest do not last. a very hierarchy-based viewpoint
beyond that, though, is the fact that making the kraang more nuanced wouldn’t work within the context of the movie.
there just isn’t enough time to set something like that up, and it would only complicate and overinflate the narrative, distracting from the main themes and underlying message
the movie isn’t about them, not really. they play an important part. but they’re more of a catalyst, to force our main characters (notably leo) out of their comfort zone.
they are proving that something has to change, by taking away the sense of security (which raph is representative of) that both we and the characters had come to rely on, and in doing so, stripping back the layers to reveal the cracks more glaringly than ever
even if the writers were able to pull of a sympathetic/maybes take on the villains, i think it would be... extraneous?
the reason the kraang work so well (in my opinion) is that they are nothing like we’ve seen before. all the previous villains, including shredder, have been “fun”
you have your typical “villain-of-the-week” types (like warren and hypnotic), your bigger yet still “fun” anti-hero types (big mama abs baron draxum, who are both more nuanced) and shredder, who despite being very scary, is stilll nuanced
he’s the father of karai. his reasons for taking on the suit of armor (given to him by what we can assume are the kraang) were motivated by good. at the end, after he’s defeated, he joins karai in what constitutes their afterlife.
so we’ve had our fair share of nuanced villains. what we haven’t had?
the kraang. villains with no chance of reasoning with or goodness. villains that do not care about fun and entertainment. they are here to take over the world, and if you get in the way, they will kill you.
it’s why the movie hit so hard. why the beginning scene was even allowed to exist. if there were and peaceful option out f this, the boys would have taken it.
that’s why there can’t be.
now, this next part is much more meta, so if you don’t care, feel free to skip.
i don’t want to get too deep into this since i’m just writing my thoughts as they come to me, but it would feel amiss not to mention the bigger picture behind this criticism. why do people think this?
within the writing community, there has been this shift. actually, within the artist communities at large. it comes with post-modernism, which is a whole topic on its own.
basically, post-modernism is a response to modernism. it shows the darker side to the modern world, and the negative side of the ideas presented in the previous movement.
it’s the start of this nihilistic idea that nothing really matters, and things don’t work out like they do “in the movies.”
with it comes a level of nuance. basically, consider perspectives that you wouldn’t have before. like the villains’.
but like all movements, eventually, it has to come to an end.
if you want to know more, there is this really fascinating video essay by thomas flight titled something along the lines of “why do movies feel so different now?”
it’s very good, but basically, it explores the shift between post-modernism and this new “thing” we’re going into: meta-modernism
a name which, given the fact we had to use “modernism” for what is now the past, feels very fitting.
(it does worry me about future naming conventions a little— what’s next? neo-modernism?? lmao)
now, that’s kind of in its own vein, but the point is this: villains don’t have to be over-complicated.
if you have the time and narrative to spare, go for it. explore the villains and anti-hero’s to your hearts intent.
but it’s important to know when something is too much (like the length of this text post analyzing the villains in a movie titled ‘the rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles.’)
don’t shy away from having a sterotypical big bad. if you’re a good enough writer, you can pull anything off. you just have to handle it in a certain way.
not every bad guy has to have seventy-thousand layers of nuance, and the rise movie is a great example of a narrative that benefits from keeping it simple.
it had a story to tell, and it did it wonderfully, enough to send fandom-altering ripples through (in my opinion) the tmnt franchise as a whole
when a movie can pull people n and make them fall in live, despite their original feelings about the show, while also wowing the fans of said show? you know it’s good.
and you have to admit: the rise kraang are scary as fuck /pos
i could get more into why the kraang work exactly as well as they do, with the surrounding context and how they changed rise, and what i do and don’t like about the movie, but this is long enough, and i’m already not going back to fix my typos, so. i’ll end it here
